Terrible service...no wonder why this bar is always dead. I live across the street and drinks are overpriced and service doesnt make up for it. Must be friends leaving good reviews.ETA (6/8/21): Gave this place another shot and reminded once again why I dont come here. I ordered brisket nachos and it had 4 pieces of meat on it and I respectfully asked for more and the waiter accused of eating the meat. If I had not been who I am I guarantee I would have not been accused of lying like that. Thankfully, the bartender had some sense of service. Never stepping foot in this place again. I am willing to drive elsewhere instead of walk across the street to this business. Sad.
Visit was mediocre. Food was okay. Service was meh.Bartender was straightening her hair in the back when we walked in. Didn’t wash her hands before she took my husband’s card to start a tab. Was constantly playing with her hair while dealing with guests. And the one time I saw her wash her hands, it was for about 5 seconds. Wasn’t super impressed this time around.
A very small menu but the chicken tenders and beer pretzel was very good. Nice selection of beers. Very pleasant service from server. Overall good food, good drinks and a nice atmosphere. Honestly the best part about this bar is the outdoor patio. They have live music as well.
Good location, variety of beer and the best chicken sandwich ever! The only awful thing is that blonde waitress. Didnt catch her name but she has no customer service skills, slams everything on the table and acts as if she doesnt have time to serve you.Went on Tuesday 11/06 around 8:00pm.
The service sucked. Our server was too busy talking to a gentleman on the other side of the room instead of waiting her tables . we had to keep asking another server to help us because she did not want to help us apparently. I usually tip 20% or more when the service is good but when you have to keep asking someone else or go up to the bar to ask for help you dont deserve to even get a tip. It took forever to get your food and there was a hair in my salad. It was supposed to be a Caesar salad they had mozzarella cheese on the salad instead of Parmesan cheese and the dressing would definitely not have been Caesar salad dressing. Ive eaten Caesar salads at a lot of different restaurants and I think that was the worst salad. The other food that was served at the table seem to be good. but the service really sucked. The bar was so small that there was no reason why that server couldnt have done a better job. And I will never go back there again. If you dont mind waiting a very long time to get your food or even a drink then by all means go for it. We were not in a hurry but really it took her way too long if it would have been that we were with some guess I would have gotten up and left.
Constantly different staff. Well drinks only but quite a variety of beer. I think the music should be a little louder and lights dimmer. We pay for some of our music to play I noche music box and can barely hear it. Food is not good outside of a few items and appetizers. The only thing I love here it’s the pretzel when it’s fresh. That’s the expectation for a bar of this caliber.
None of the employees were wearing masks at all or even pretending. It makes you wonder what other best practices they do not follow. Whether the owner agrees with the state mandate on masks or not, its currently required regardless of your personal opinion, and staff not wearing them puts customers in a really awkward position. We ended up not ordering. Bummer because its a prime location.
Great staff, and great people. Had a get-together celebration, and the staff was able to accommodate us. They reserved off the patio area, and gave me a 4 hour window. The event turned out and great, and it is because of the staff and the great service they provided. I can not thank them enough for making it a fun and memorable event.
I have really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. Living at Savoye, I often walk by and smell the smoker running for the very good barbecue. The smoked wings are my personal favorite. The trivia on Tuesday is also very good. I had never played Geeks Who Drink before but it is very well done and makes it worthwhile to go visit every week.
I had the opportunity to meet the owner & I was blown away at how hands on & humble he was about his establishment. I live on site & try to stop by at least 3 times a week to experience that homey feel. Great spot to unwind, meetup w/friends and family to kick it & enjoy the vibe. Also, great food selections!
Fun small bar meant for locals in the apartments around the area but that makes it a fun spot to watch sports and have a friendly environment. The drinks are priced at $4-6 a beer and they also have a full kitchen that serves burgers, wings, and more. The bar itself has around 8 TVs that regularly show sports, an outside seating area with park style benches, and a semi-cramped pool table setup. The outside area looks down over the river and can be zipped up and heated during the winter. If you like greasy food, beer, and sports, this is your bar.The service is good but when it gets crowded for something like the NBA finals or football games, waiting times often slow down. Even with the small amount of tables, however, it always seems to have a spot to sit. I dont recommend testing your luck and coming in 20 minutes late to a major game though. All in all, this is a great casual bar if youre looking to invite your friends over and watch the game not in your smaller appartment, or you just dont want to clean up. Because of the convince, this bar is almost unbeatable.
I love that this place is on the first floor of my building. The burger and the brisket tacos are fantastic. Patio is also great since it looks over Vitruvian Park. I will probably eat here a lot more often now that the bad weather is mostly over. The staff is also really good right now.
Second time at the Ice House, but might be the last given how many great places are in nearby Addison. First time there was a couple years back and I still remember how good the brisket egg rolls were. Unfortunately, the bartender started by saying they were out of the egg rolls, the ribs, and anything pulled pork. Okay, bummer, but we went with a couple of burgers anyway. 40 minutes LATER, we finally got our food - starting with the bun (the first thing you touch), it had been toasted, but immediately starting coming apart - it smelled and tasted stale - like it was a week old. Looking at my waistline, I reasoned that I should probably be eating bun-less anyway. Unfortunately, the burger was as dry as the bun. So much seasoning as well... in fact, I woke at 2a with incredible indigestion - no, I didn’t suspect food poisoning, just a ton of seasoning in the meat that took three Pepcids to overcome (yeah, I didn’t care what the bottle label said about one in 24 hours). All that said, the wait staff was pleasant and the bartender took two of the four Blue Moons we had off the bill because of the wait, which was cool because we didn’t ask her to. She just realized it had been a ridiculously long wait.Might give it another try if the response from Ice House explains the above. Can’t just reply to the 5-star reviews. ; )
Every year my friends and I go here after looking at the Vitruvian Lights and every year they seem to be understaffed. Food is awesome, not complaining about that, but the service is slow so its hard to enjoy. We like to drink so when it takes 20 to 30 minutes to get a drink weve lost our buzz and lost our desire to be there. This year we ordered just chips so we cud go home and drink. 😒
I suggest the brunch menu on the weekends. I got a order of basic breakfast tacos and they were excellent. As for the night life, it can be hit or miss. Fellas, this is an excellent date spot. Grab a few drinks then take a stroll in Vitruvian Park. Also, I love the dog-friendly patio
This place has the potential to be great, its just good right now. The plastic pull downs on the outside patio are broken so If its super windy or starts raining, youre going to get wet. The wait staff is under staffed every Wednesday night making for lonng wait times most times.
Our food was 1 hour late and definitely tasted as if it the order was sitting in the kitchen for a few minutes. Keep in mind this was on a NBA game night though. I asked the waitress when the food order is coming out and she responds saying “hopefully soon”.Love the location but didn’t enjoy the experience.
If youre looking for a Good ol Boys not even one star worthy Choke and Puke, come on down to Addison Ice House! Im only giving it one star because I have to in order to write a review. Ive read a few other reviews that say not to come to this place. After going there, I have to agree. We waited for an hour to get our food and had already canceled our order by the time it came. The food was cold, and we watched everyone around us that came in after us get their food first, even one to go order. The good reviews of this place seem to come from people who live nearby. Sucks Im not in the cool kids club. My girlfriend just had to upchuck her pulled pork tacos. Talk about fine dining. Only come here if youre white and live close, and even then you may want to think about it.
Great location, wonderful patio with views of the park and good prices. Service was OK, but the spaced out bartender girl and waitress somehow lost my platinum American Express card after giving it to her to open a tab. She just took off with it and never brought it back or said anything until I asked for it as she just walked around aimlessly. It wasnt very busy, so I am not sure how that happened. Bartender said she didnt remember it. Waitress looked a bit fishy as well, and they kept whispering and laughing to each other, so I cancelled the card from my phone right away and paid in cash for my bill when we were done. The food was fairly good, so I can still recommend this place for the atmosphere, prices and great patio. Shady staff can always be replaced so I wont hold that against them. Definitely a great place for drinks, music and views.
Was there many time as i live near by. Hreat for sports events and it is packed at that time so make sure you go early. They have an awesome pretzel there you would like. Outside sitting is nice and you can also bring your dog. On Tuesday they have game night and sometimes live musicians, not sire when. Overhaul its a nice little place
I ordered two glasses of wine. They were cheap but the waitress was nice so I left $22 on a $17.32 tab. -I had walked to the waitstaff station by the bar and laid the payment back on the bar. THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD TOO! I have tried to resolve it but to no avail. NEVER LEAVE CASH AT THIS PLACE, bartenders or waitstaff cant be trusted. The Ice House doesnt respond either....
I came here with my boyfriend based on a Groupon and this will definitely be my go-to bar! I had the prickly pear Rita (if I’m not mistaken) and it was soooo good! It tasted like a jolly rancher. I had the pulled brisket burger but it had a bit too much fat for me. Overall, it was a great experience. Our server was very kind and helpful which means the service is great! Sitting in the outside patio is refreshing and the arcade games are a bonus! If it’s any bar in Addison you want to go to, it’s definitely Addison Ice house!!!
Although the brisket was tasty it was tough and hard to eat on a sandwich. When waitress came to the table to ask about how our lunch was ,we told her that brisket was tough. She said she would talk to the chef. We were thinking hed send a couple of slices of tender brisket to finish our meal. Instead, we got a coupon for complimentary chips and queso. Waitress was sweet, but wont return.
Came to the ice house during happy hour today after work. Immediate a stink hit me in the face when I walked in. I do understand bars tend to get like that. I ordered a beer, and they didn’t have the drought anymore. So, I ordered another, and they were also out. I finally ordered a B&H Revolver that they had. I asked about an appetizer, and they were out. I ordered my beer during happy hour and did not receive the $1 off. I am not one to trip about a dollar but the website nor signs or bartenders ever specified if specialities were excluded. The bartender asked if I’d like another round and I expressed that the two beers and app that I wanted were out of stock and I was a little sad. He just awkwardly smiled and said I only work here part time. I think it’s a little odd. He could have easily kept my business by making a suggestion, but it seemed as though the two staff members didn’t care at all. Oh well. I usually don’t write reviews. So, there is my two cents. I’m sure if I would have been thirsty for a budlight, Burger, and sandvolley, I’d be satisfied.
We went to Ice House this morning with a Groupon. The food was good and fairly priced. The Bangin Tacos were indeed, bangin. The staff was courteous and very friendly.I just couldnt get past the amount of FLIES in the dining area.To be fair, the flies were present due to the large sliding patio door being open. Before you say that this was beyond Ice Houses control, we asked our server if the door could be closed, or if there was a fan that could be used to keep the flies away while we dined - as eating with one hand, and shooing away flies with the other hand, began to get a bit tiresome. We were quickly told no, and that the Manager, who was also on site would be upset if the patio door was closed. Id also like to point out that we were the only patrons in Ice House at the time, and most likely the first guests of the day.We took the remainder of our food to go.I tried very hard to give this place a chance, since its nearby and in a very high-end neighborhood. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
We came to the Ice house for a kick off event for our Volleyball league. The invitation stated $3.50 Sam Adams specials The place was mostly empty because a party had reserved a significant number of tables on the patio, but had not arrived yet. Our group of 8 people thus tried to squeeze onto a table that had ONE occupant (who wasnt waiting for anyone, but apparently still wanted to keep the full table for himself). After awkwardly sitting there for 10 minutes while the occupant huffed and puffed about us trying to kick him out of his own table, we had more people join us and needed just a little more space. I went to talk to one of the waitresses to ask if they could make any arrangements to accommodate our group of 8, she did not look at me for one second, and simply answered with a short no. At which point, we decided to close our tabs and move along. As we got the checks, it appeared that the Sam Adams drink special was not applied, and upon asking, they were not honoring the deal because that was only for game nights (this was just the kick off party). After paying our full price beer, we went across the street to MH cafe, for outdoor seating, good service, Oberon Ales, and great sandwiches and appetizers. We did not look back, nor will we go back to the Addison Ice House.
Great ice house with a patio overlooking Vitruvian Park. Delicious bar food, and a good selection of favorite drafts from Texas and the rest of the nation.Get the B Mac & Cheese burger. Seriously. A burger topped with mac & cheese and bacon, served on a sturdy pretzel bun with the crispiest fries youll ever eat.
Very small pub. 1 page menu. The brisket here is the bomb! They smoke it themselves! I had the bbq brisket quesadillas. LOVED IT! Used a Groupon. This is mostly a bar to watch football esp New York teams. Its the official bar of the New York Giants. They hv a banner that says so on the wall.I would definitely go back just for the brisket!❤Your can see Virtruvian lights at Christmas time easily too!
Refused to serve my friend who lives 50 feet away at Savoye squared. My friend was not causing trouble and was being polite. They refused to serve us alcohol. He claimed your friend with the black shirt would not sit down. Well my friend was wearing a grey shirt. We immediately left and got service at another local bar. I will not go back to the ice house. Terrible service terrible management.
Would love to have eaten here, but a guy at the door stopped us and asked for ID....wanted to make sure me and my wife were over 21. I have 10 grandkids. While I applaud the restaurant for employing the blind, I found his lack of common sense to be foolish and a waste of my time. I took my business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same. I dont reward idiocracy.
Nice staff great location the only problem i have is the drinks 😞. Me and my friend from houston comes here and never spend under 100.00 on drinks and we still dont get to feel the drinks. Mind you i come here for convincing without having to drive home across the street. And I wish there was a little more variety on the menu. But other than that I am very please with the service that I received and the staff is very friendly it’s just the drinks
Tonight my best friend and I were attempting to celebrate his last night in Dallas before he moved home to KC. The bartender refused to serve us after having two beers....I was told You two arent right for the atmosphere, your over the limit.. I will honestly say I have never been refused to be served at a bar... I am stunned. Thank you Addison Ice House for making sure my best friend had to walk a mile home before being served a third beer.... absolutely ridiculous... if you dont have a giant silver spoon shoved up your a** I dont suggest you go here...Pitifully,Dustin

2022-06-06I visited this spot for Trivia Tuesdays and enjoyed the low-key and chill environment they had to offer. I ordered a cosmopolitan and it was delicious! ☺️ This place is located next to beautiful Vitruvian park, so it is located in a very nice area. This place is a great choice for drinks with friends and if you are into trivia, this is a good spot to do this at! I also thought their vending machine was super neat! Definitely worth checking out and returning to.

2022-04-09BBQ is outstanding, but beware they only make a certain amount and can run out. Call ahead if it is late. The brisket is outstanding. I have had the brisket sandwich, tacos, and quesadillas. Not a fan of pulled pork but, not their fault, my buddy loves it. My buddy and I go eat every Friday after work and have an Old Fashioned to kick off the weekend. Staff are friendly, and the view is beautiful over looking the park. I highly recommend checking it out especially if you live in the area

2022-05-09The waitress cut off my boyfriend in the fourth quarter of a Mavs playoff game. He was still pretty sober, so that was a bummer. He said the wings were average and the salad wasn’t good. I had the loaded brisket queso tots and now it’s the next day and I’ve never been sicker in my life. Once we left there, we went to the place across the street, and when we told one of the bartenders we had just come from Addison Icehouse, he wrinkled his nose and said he’s heard weird things about their brisket. This, from someone who has been living in DFW for 1 month. Long story short, this place gave me food poisoning and it wasn’t even fun.

2018-12-30Went here after seeing the Vitruvian Lights at Christmas. We saw this place and decided to check it out. We ordered the sample platter ($20) and it was HUGE as you can see! All the food 9n it was very good as well. Their selection of beers is very lackluster. I expected much better being called an ice house. The atmosphere is very nice with plenty of big TVs so if you want to watch a game, this is a good place to go for that. They were showing the 2018 cotton bowl and they had the sound in for it which was nice. Im a beer nerd, so the fact that they didnt hardly have a selection of beers means I probably wont go back even as good ss the food is (and also why they only get 3 stars). If you call yourself an ice house you shou li d have more the 7-8 beers on tap. Cheers!

2021-11-14Give the chef a raise! Burgers from here are out of this world!!Cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth fantastic. The standard of the burgers shows that the chefs really care about the quality of the food they produce. The onion rings and fries were crunchy and tasted like fresh oil had been used.Atmosphere was pleasant and staff were attentive

2019-04-16I must say I really loved this place! Its low-key and they place a decent variety of music like hip hop, country, and classics. The food was great! I couldnt resist when they told me they smoke their own brisket! The drinks are priced competitively, not cheap but not too high.Bathroom is clean!!The staff seemed really nice as well.

2022-01-11Somehow this place feels super divey, which is weird because its a nice looking bar in a nice area. The bartenders were rude.

2019-10-20Great place for a beer & bar food and sports watching. About 9 beers on tap (could be better selection) and another 20 in cans/bottles.
