AGE of Central Texas in other cities:
The computer lab for mature adults is taught by all volunteers who speak simply, intelligently and with respect for your age. I have learned photography from my phone and Dslr, software applications, and safe we browsing. In another wrong of the building there is adult daycare. Valuable resources for our adding community.
Wonderful and trustworthy people!! They are very friendly to correspond with and will answer any questions you may have. Their reputation speaks for itself and they have accommodated so many families over the years. Its wonderful to see such a great business in the community.
The AGE complex houses several services for the eldery. The Adult Day Care Center is open M-F, 7a-5:30p. Admin & other offices & a senior center are open M-F, 8a-5p, The very helpful Medical Equipment Lending Center is, unfortunately, only open M-F, 9:30a-4:30p to receive donations of durable medical equipment, which they also loan out at no charge. I have both borrowed and donated equipment and Its a good community service. Many of the services are manned by hard working volunteers. There are other programs, such as computer classes for seniors, that have portions of the center open on other days and hours - see the website.

2022-05-14Awesome adult daycare service. They have plenty of activities, serve hot nutritious food, and have a garden. Restrooms are big for those that need to change their brief/adult diapers and they have a staff nurse for those individuals that take medication. Alarms are also at every door as a safety measure for those with dementia. If you’re near the downtown Austin area and need a place for your loved one to go during the day while you’re at work, to keep them busy or simply give you a break, I’d recommend AGE of Central Texas

2022-06-21We absolutely love Age of Central Texas and the amazing staff members there! Everyone is incredible! We have a great relationship with them through our volunteer Therapy Dog program and visit members, staff, and other volunteers to bring smiles to their faces. It’s been a very rewarding experience for us and our volunteers!

2022-04-10My mother went to their geriatric daycare from the ages of 89 through 93. She was a retired teacher and called it her school. Hot meals. Outdoor time. Waist-high gardening beds. One-on-one with volunteers. Activities. On-site medical supervision. Ideal.

2021-02-01I have been blessed to have benefitted from AGE programs, from Bridge Lessons, Computer Classes, pecan shelling and purchases. I have also participated in the HELP Medical supply lending service both as a recipient and a donor. Competent, caring and compassionate staff make you feel valued.

2020-07-06My mother attended AGE in her last years and she loved the center. She couldnt wait to get there each morning. There was plenty to do. The whole day is scheduled with activities. This is not your typical Bingo adult care. There is live music, chair exercise, memory games, crafts, singing and holiday celebrations. Picking mom up after work was a joy because she was so happy and had plenty to say about her fun filled day. She always came home with crafts she had made or little items she bought with tickets she earned playing games or helping people. I have very fond memories of AGE and continue to donate to their cause of improving eldercare.

2020-02-18Rent and donate medical equipment for the elderly. They also have an elder day care facility I do not know much about. We have been donating here over the years, and just had the opportunity to use their service for my moms partner.Support this group in their endeavors, as they provide a greatly needed service to the Austin area!!

2019-03-02This volunteer organization is so very helpful. I was trying to find some medical equipment prior to a surgery. They helped in part but I still had to go with other options.A.G.E. offers FREE LOANS of medical equipment. Theres no application process or ID required. The loans are open ended and based entirely on the honor system that youll bring the equipment back when youre done with it.They ALWAYS need wheelchairs and other things. Contact Roland and hell set you up or tell you what they need.

2020-10-20AGE of Central Texas is a wonderful resource. Among other things, they have loaner supplies like shower chairs, walksrs, etc. No fee! Roommate gave his name, address and etc. Practicing Covid guidelines we made an appointment to pick up the shower chair. It was assembled and waiting for us outside. A new piece of equipment at no cost to my roommate.

2019-06-29Since 2015, I have cared for my now 86-yr-old mother who suffers from memory loss. I am a single woman who works full-time and commutes two hours a day. I have attended several of AGEs workshops and conferences and found them to be beneficial and informative. However, after some of these programs, I contacted the speakers, via email and/or phone, to inquire about their services and none of them ever responded. In 2017 and 2018, I called the AGE office at least three times and left voice messages, but no one has ever responded. So, except for the workshops, Im not sure what benefit they provide.

2019-06-07FANTASTIC, COMUNITY SERVICE , HELPING PEOPLE WITH TRUE NEEDS . I picked up an alternating air pressure mattress with its pump and a shower bench for my 75 year old client who suffers from stage four Alzheimers dementia. They take donations and then turn around and offer to those in need without all the drama and obstacles of paperwork and on and on. God bless you AGE OF CENTRAL TEXAS
