Best place in the Allen area to get your car repaired. Bob is the nicest guy, he will treat you right, and fairly. Most importantly, his honest and he wants to do you right. Been going to him for years and will continue to do so for repair s and oil changes. Be sure to pet Sam when you are there too!!!
I caught a flat and took the next exit off 75. Luckily I ended up in the parking lot of this auto shop. Went in to ask the price for removing my tire and putting my spare on so I could make it to the nearest tire shop. They did it for free, immediately. Thank you so much for saving the day!
Going to Allen Car Care Center is the experience of going to your local car repair shop. They remember you, and do little things to help you out. They are always kind to my kids and the wait experience is pleasant.Do they know what they are doing? YES. We have had accurate work and fair pricing every time. We have been taking vehicles there for over 5 years.
Friendly and honest. My Camry was making a terrible screech. 1st, I Toyotas service dept. The mechanic suspected a lodged bearing. He urged me not to drive and to have it towed in immediately. Allen Car Care was the nearest shop. I drove it to them and told them what Toyota suggested. A few hours later, they called me to say that rocks had been lodged in the wheel well. They charged me $35 for the labor/time for removing them. These people are friendly and honest. They could have told me that they repaired any number of serious and expensive problems. I would not have known any better.
I blew the bearings on one of the wheels on my travel trailer going down 75 and happened to pull over in parking lot of Allen Car Care. The owner, Bob, saw me struggling to replace bearings in parking lot. He came out of his shop in the rain and helped me replace the bearings and get back on the road. Extremely nice guy. He would not take any money for helping me out he just asked me to bring my vehicles to him next time I need a repair. I will definitely give him a try.
I spoke with the owner, and he was an extremely knowledgeable and friendly person. Very happy to help me and other customers as well as providing the best service for my car. I HIGHLY recommend anyone that has car problems to use allen car care, their response time destroys other company’s times, their customer service is off the charts, and their quality in service is an A+ especially with a well developed time span to repair, it took them 2 hours to repair my, i was completely stranded because my starter wasnt working, thank you allencare! Consider me a regular customer!
The dealership had recommended I change my break pads 4 months ago. This time I took the car to Allen Car Care Center and started off with telling them I need to change my break pads. We discussed the price and I was waiting for the oil change + break pad replacement. To my utter surprise the mechanic comes back and tells me I don’t need new break pads and the ones I have is good and that I might get couple of 1000 miles out of it before I need replacement. This is the level of honesty you can expect from the folks at Allen Car Care center. They have been in business for over 11 years and I am never going back to the dealership again.
I love this shop! They try so hard to show proof theyre being honest! He takes pictures, never tries to oversell, when I get an oil change its just that unless he sees something obviously wrong. Plus theyre great with kids. I brought my four toddlers in there to get an oil change which usually is a great excuse for people to be rude. But here, we were welcomed, and he was even coloring with one of my sons. And complimenting him on his great ability to understand what hes drawing. Theyre real down to earth men. Love it.
Was traveling to Surfside Beach from Kansas...Cars alternator went out...Bob worked with me to get my car fixed and he let me pick it up on a Saturday in which he is closed. Bob is very friendly and even texted me a few days after getting home to make sure my family got back home safely. I wish Bob would move his business to my neck of the woods.
If you prefer to do business with a small shop for your automotive mechanical services. I highly recommend Allen Car Care center. I have used them many times in the past few years and have always been happy with there services. Really great work at a reasonable price and there work is guaranteed.
I brought all of my vehicles here for the seven years I lived in Allen. More than fair pricing and quality maintenance and repair work every time. Never felt pressured to do a costly repair that wasnt needed and they always made sure everything was explained to me in a way I could understand (not always the easiest task). I cant recommend Allen Car Care Center enough!
The people at Allen Car Care are Awesome, always ready to help with your car troubles and believe it or not, if they cant fix it, they have the names of other people or places who can. Great People, Great Prices with no added bologna. Ive been taking all of my families vehicles there from F250s, old Dodge Darts, Cadillacs and Corvetts to Mini Coopers. I Wouldnt want to take them anywhere else. I dont like bologna..
AutoZone and OReilly both told me that my alternator was bad but Bob and his meticulous mechanics realized it was just a 40a mega fuse ($12 fix) that was causing the alternator to not become charged. He saved me over $350 for the repair due to the fact that my car is extremely difficult to install an alternator so without his honest evaluation Id be broke, thanks Bob and the team.
@Allen Car Care I used to be their biggest fan. Not anymore....RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. I have gone there for years. I have referred many people there. The first time I felt a little suspicious of them was when they told me my e-break had gotten stuck and broken...also ruining my rotors. I took it to another shop and they couldnt find anything wrong. To this day....it is fine. My husband said maybe he got us confused with another customer....we let it slide. Fast forward to April. We have them do our 100K service. Tell him to do whatever it says is recommended. So timing belt, flushes....told him to do it all. Now, 8 months later.....one of my friends is driving the car down the highway. Loud crashing sound and the car stops. The tow truck guy says the timing belt broke in his opinion. I call Bob and ask him if that was something covered by the 12 month warranty provided on the belt and service performed. He immediately says...we didnt replace the water pump. Ummm.... ok. So I ask if he sees the service and he said yes we had it done in April. The belt was changed but not the water pump. He said it wasnt recommended. Every google search I have done says that is recommended for the water pump and belt to be done at the same time. That is not the issue however. He tells us its the idler pulley, it locked up causing the belt to melt and break. He will have to do a $1200 repair before he can tell me if there is damage to the motor. I trust him....we have done business for years. I say ok. Then he tells us after that there is about $3000 more in damage he cant fix. That will be $1200. My husband calls a buddy of his trying to unload the car. He has a car lot and we were thinking a mechanic may want to buy the car as a project car. He tells us Bob should have known that there was guaranteed damage from her driving 70 miles per hour when it broke. Then tells me that $1200 seems really high.....we email him a receipt. While I wait to hear back I get in touch with Mitsubishi....a certified Mitsubishi mechanic tells me that not only did he over charge but it was by about $600....he charges double what the dealership does. Then I notice our receipt.....a timing belt component kit.....then we were also charged for each component individually. Nice. The next day I get an email from my friends buddy, same estimate....$600. Both agree he should have never done the work anyway because there was 100% chance the engine was damaged. They both recommended replacing the motor. Both are suspicious that this should have been a warranty issue. I am told to ask for the parts he bought and receipts for them. Legally he has to provide these. He brings some of the parts (NO WATER PUMP IN TH BOX) He tells us he will not provide the part receipts because he doesnt have to let us see the wholesale pricing he gets. The receipt for the 100 K service? He has a hard time finding (Strangely on day one he pulled it up in seconds while we are on the phone) OH wait he found it....gives it to my husband. Looking over it I notice it is an estimate....not an invoice and it was typed up TODAY. I call him he stutters a bit and said its a list of what they did. I tell him I need the actual recept. The one I signed. If there is a Component kit on there he is liable for all of it and he knows it. He cant find it. I send my husband up there to get him to look on the computer in front of him. Him and his friend walk in and there are shredding noises coming from Bobs office. Thats reassuring. So, then to top it off they broke the handle on the driver side. Apparently there was a crack in it.....Funny. I never saw one before. So now I have a ruined motor and a broken driver side handle so you cant even get into the car. Thanks Bob.....your receipt says Honesty, Accuracy, and Quality.....Lies. I feel even worse as I dont even know how many of my friends and family he has ripped off. I referred him to everyone :-(
Kwik Car lube place had recommended them. I have not been there yet and was googling the place for the phone number, anticipating I was going to take my car and my daughters car both there for some repairs. After seeing the one long time customer ( Amanda Diane) who then had several bad experiences and the particular problems she had, I am now too leery. Good long time customers dont leave bad reviews like that for nothing. This deception and no proof like they requested is just too much baggage.I too own a service company and know that every customer is not an expert and arent always right. I too, know that an intermittent problem can be hard to diagnose, as was in the case of another customer.I am a christian and I am just going to have to pray about this and go where God leads me.
I took my truck to have them look at why it kept having intermitent starting problems. I spent $400 for them to look at my truck 4 times, and not solve the problem even though they said they fixed the issue. When I came to them telling them the problem still existed they said it was cause they think it was the alarm causing the problem and to take it to the dealer to spend more money. I really would not recommend you take your vehicle to them.

2020-05-22We have used this mechanic a couple times and they did great work at a reasonable price. A few months back my husband took my car in told them what needed to be replaced as it was a very common issue on my make and model car. They did a diagnostic test and were told we needed to replace a different part that was about $600 instead of the $10 piece that my husband told them needed to be replaced. They said it would cost $1500 and they could have it done sometime that day. My husband told them he was going to do it himself as he was pretty sure it was other part he said needed to be replaced and we didnt want to spend $1500. We were charged $90 for the diagnostic test which turned out to be incorrect. I have attached a picture of the plastic piece that was destroyed in the center and the replacement piece is on the side. There is a good chance this was just a weird thing that does not normally happen because again they did good work for us in the past but Im still irritated that we were charged $90 for an incorrect test.

2022-01-28EDIT: I am editing my review 2 years ago to say that I have been coming here for routine maintenance and he has been a blast to work with!2 Years ago review:I came here for a semi emergency and Bob was super nice and understanding of my situation. He had very reasonable rates and was extremely helpful. I unfortunately did not end up using his services because he did not take Synchronys Car Care card. I use this to help mitigate the costs of auto repairs and I had to go somewhere else. However, if Im ever in the area, I highly recommend him!

2021-04-29Was driving through Dallas on a road trip up north, car started getting real hot. Got off the highway and then happened to stop in the same parking lot that the car care center was. Found out my radiator had a hole in it. They initially told me 4.5 hours. 1080 dollars. Well they were able to get it done in half the time and got me about 70 dollars cheaper. Definitely would suggest this mechanic shop to friends and family. Great attitude and great service.

2021-02-11Guys! My husband is not easily impressed but these guys just got a life time customer. He took his truck in. They hooked it up to see what was wrong. It ended up being something the dealership would have to handle. In the end they charged him 0$ because they could help him. Anywhere else wouldve charged over $100 just for the diagnostic. Super helpful..super HONEST!

2019-12-29Allen car care has literally become so important to my family. I have referred my mom, my dad, my mother in law, my uncles and anyone who will listen. They are not only seriously knowledgeable about all things car, they ALSO actually care about you and your circumstances. Bob, who is the owner, is the sweetest man you will ever meet. I just can’t say enough good things about this place. We took our car in for a mystery coolant leak and they didn’t stop until they found the problem. There were several people who put hours upon hours to make sure that our car was safe to drive with our 11 year old daughter in it. If you are looking for an honest mechanic... well you’ve found it here. I will continue to drive the hour it takes to get there to have these amazing people service my car. Bob you have single handily restored my faith and I hope you understand what your expertise has meant to Josh and I.
