Sally and Pete are always friendly and very professional. I have had several services done (appraisals, jewelry sizing and new watch batteries). The work has been great quality. I highly recommend this family owned business.
The jeweler himself does nice work but he is very slow and probably overworked. The lady that works the counter is knowledgeable but very impatient and does not return phone calls and probably should consider retirement because she doesnt have the right mentality for customer service. I can tell that she probably was great at it in her earlier years but I feel she is burned out. So if quality work is all that matters and you dont care about time or courtesy then this may be the place for you.
MY family and myself have been using Allen Jewelers for nearly 15 years for everything from Watch battery replacements and bands to resizing and fixing damaged rings to custom Jewelry. Every interaction I have ever had with them has been professional and pleasant. I highly recommend them!
Took my custom engagement ring in for repair. They did a fantastic job! The store is always beautiful and the couple that owns it is always friendly. We will definately use them for any future needs!
Had a vintage engagement ring another jeweler attempted to fix and did a poor job causing the diamond to fall out. I took it to Allen jewelers and they were able to secure the diamond and repair all the damage the previous jeweler did. They did a fantastic job! Would recommend for any repair job.
I try to support local businesses. Places like this make it really difficult. I took my wifes ring in for a repair. The estimates were super high, so I thought wed check a few other places to ensure that the $400+ we were quoted was reasonable. All things considered, if we got similar estimates, or ones just below theirs, I would still come here to support the locals. So upon picking up the ring, the owner made some snide remarks to my wife. Totally unappreciated. He embarrassed her a bit and made her feel bad for doing our due diligence when spending a few hundred dollars.Places like this make it difficult for me to support. Customer Service is a game changer. You can sometimes get a higher level of it at a local business, but this one completely missed the mark. Thankfully, Allen has other options. Ones that I will choose. Seeing other reviews where people have called out the owner tell me that Im not the only one. I hope they get it figured out before its too late. But even if they do, I wont be spending any money there.Oh, and be sure to get the dead crickets out of your display case.
Pete, Sally and their son, before he passed, have always operated their business very professionally. We have lived in Allen for over 43 years and we would highly recommend their jewelry store. There is a lot to say for a family owned business.
The guy was pretty nice. Was quotes one price and the bill came back higher since the repair was tougher than he thought. It was just a cheap watch repair but going from $10 to $25 was a surprise. Yes sometimes things dont go as planned, but stick to the agreement. The work was quality however. Next time Id just push back if I got a higher bill.

The owner is rude and manipulative. I came to pick up my jewelry and they couldnt find it. I had to come back again when they could locate it. I came for a jewelry appraisal and they were so pricey. Learned my lesson

I went to return an item and was told it could not be taken back for cash, only store credit. Their return policy is terrible don’t shop here. Only 7 days to return? Ridiculous.

2022-06-30Allen Jewelers is an extremely unprofessional, argumentative, shady company. They have cost me hundreds of dollars and hours of my time due to their incompetency and negligence. This is why:I met a prospective buyer for my Rolex at their store as this is his personal jeweler. He wanted them to authenticate it. They opened it up to retrieve the serial numbers and after their watch specialist replaced the back and I headed home IT NO LONGER WORKED! It’s a perpetual movement. When I called them they blamed it on needing service. I drove back there the next day and when I expressed how unhappy I was with them, the owner told me to leave it and he would have it working in a couple of days. They also said I could have it serviced for around $400. That was a Friday. I told them I was leaving the state and needed it back and he again said no problem, only a couple of days. I called Wednesday and was told the watch specialist was off that day and he would call me the next day. He never did. I finally called in the afternoon only to find out they TOOK IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! I asked them to get it back immediately so I could pick it up. It still is not fixed! When I drove back to get my Rolex it was out of the sealed service envelope. When I asked where it was and why it wasn’t still sealed he told me he left it at the other place. Shady!!!! I will be taking it to my jeweler to be inspected and decide what to do from there.There’s a lot of reputable jewelers in this area. Unfortunately Allen Jewelers is not one of them.

2022-05-19Not sure why no explanation.was just told they could not fix the clasp on my daughters necklace that broke. I will go somewhere at this point for any jewelry needs. Just my opinion .it was a less expensive necklace but still means something to her

2022-09-19Sent my ring in twice for sizing. They soldered 2 of my rings together and soldered it on backwards. I need my ring fixed but I will not be taking it back there

2021-01-24I got married 8 days after we got engaged. When I came in to look for our wedding bands, Ike was amazing. He knew just the right bands to suggest to go with my engagement ring. They were able to size it for me to pick upThe next day and have in time for my wedding. Great service. Kind. Knowledgeable. No pressure. Amazing ring! Highly recommend

2020-12-04I had a ring repaired here. Paid about 200 dollars. This was to repair some of the points and have the diamonds secured properly. I was told by the owner it was so expensive because they were adding gold and gold is expensive. Blah blah blah. Long story short I paid the money the ring looked beautiful. It did come back a gram lighter than it started. So basically whatever weight he added to the settings to secure it he took it of the shank and band of the ring till it was a full gram less in gold than when I brought it in. Also I kind of question the diamonds now seeing that he pulled weight off my ring instead of adding. Im wondering if since the stones were already loose if he just swapped them out for stones of lesser quality. I have no way of proving this but have my suspicion. As far as the weight I own a scale and weighted it before and after and it was over a gram lighter than when I brought it in.

2020-09-17Pete is very knowledgeable and will take the time to talk and explain things to you. Sally on the other hand, has been rude every time I’ve gone into the store. The first time I went in to have a necklace of mine cleaned and she made a remark along the lines of “I won’t do anything with this, I don’t even know where it’s from” after saying it was from Tiffany’s, her whole demeanor changed but I ended up taking it back to Tiffany’s to have it cleaned.My second encounter with her my boyfriend and I went in to get a quote on a custom necklace for him. We were dressed casual and my boyfriend is covered in tattoos from the neck down, which is why she didn’t take us seriously I’m assuming. She was rude the entire time getting the details from us and never called us back with a quote. I called another time and she said she would call back, never did. So I ended up going into the store where she was rude up until I paid my deposit, then never called telling me it was ready. I ended up calling and Pete answered and was very nice and told me it was ready and I could get it whenever.If you care about customer service and communication, go somewhere else. Their prices are high, but Pete does great work.

2020-12-30I got my ring sized here last year and service was great and affordable. I went in today to get help with other jewelry and the lady made me feel stupid, berated me and just was flat out rude. I will never go back!
