The hosts were very kind and polite and the alpacas were very friendly. Highly recommend it, especially for the kids. The hosts take pictures for you as well which was a plus. When arriving keep an eye out for the signs, google maps will take you into their neighbors lot. Skip that one and take the next street to their plot where you will see their sign.
Awesome trip. Great briefing before the actual experience. A celebration after Boomers (Larued) Baptismal. Everyone had a great time. Then, a snack that included grapes, nuts, crackers, and lots more. Provided by Alpaquita Ranch at the request of the family. Simple, but oh so sweet. The Alpacas were such a unique experience. So soft and tame.Id love to go back. The whole Ranch is so intriguing, with antique furniture and plaques and Easter decor for the season.Everything was well orchestrated. I enjoyed the front porch dressed with Easter decor.Thank you ALPAQUITA RANCH.
The first time we visited a bit less than a year ago, the experience was amazing! Beautiful animals and location. So many photo ops and my boys loved the charcuterie board option. It was relaxing and peaceful, plus fun, and every family had their own guide who told you all about the animals and helped with the photographs (at no extra charge). This time, still beautiful animals and location, but it was so much less personal. Now it felt more like they were trying to maximize the turnaround and there was no personal attention paid to anyone. They also didnt follow up in our charcuterie board, so we ended up leaving. I wish they would go back to how they did it before they became so popular. If youre just looking for photo ops with an Alpaca, by all means. Its still a beautiful place, but it lost the small town, family friendly, local touch that was so nice before.
What a magical way to spend part of a summer day--- surrounded by lush, green pastures in the company of two of THE MOST adorable Alpacas ever--Maggie and Serendipity! These incredibly sweet Alpacas could not have been a more perfect fit for us! We just adored them and enjoyed many wonderful laughs and joyous moments in their company!Sam, our Tour Guide, made sure we maximized our time with Maggie and Serendipity--- even helping us snap pics throughout our tour at the neatest photo opportunities that included vintage trucks, free-standing farm house doors, a fantastic barn with huge greenery board as a back drop, and much, much more!Every detail planned for from parking, to a hand-washing station and extremely clean restroom facilities to an educational component that included an introduction to Alpacas, a brief overview of where they came from, and safety tips for hand walking the them. After our tour, we enjoyed snacking on the most beautiful AND delicious Charcuterie Board Ive ever seen while sitting at a table on a gorgeous country style porch, that had been tastefully decorated in a modern, farm house chic. By the way, the view from this gorgeous porch was serene, peaceful, relaxing, and remarkable: Lush green pastures, dotted with grazing Alpacas, under big South Texas blue skies!Presentation and service were par none from the beginning of our tour to the end. It was the most fun Ive had since I can remember. Im looking forward to returning soon!Alpaquita Ranch should be at the top of your places to visit in the Rio Grande Valley! Great times and memories made! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this unique opportunity!
Thank you for making this such a wonderful experience. My daughters wish came true thanks to your ranch. (Meeting and hugging a real life Alpaca)Your Alpacas were absolutely beautiful , so well behaved and lovable. Miss Ruby was my very favorite. Cant wsit to visit again

2022-07-20I had been wanting to come and experience this place for a while. I was there this past weekend and I loved it. I was quite frustrated because of the heat, definitely will be back to experience it in cooler weather. The staff was helpful and quite knowledgeable about their alpacas. I got the most stubborn one of all, quite suiting, I must say. Lol. There is a on site photographer that will take pictures for you, either with your own phone or his camera... there isnt a charge unless you want them printed. This is a self tour and you even get your own alpaca to tour with you as you take photos at many of their farm house style decor stations

2022-06-13Would definitely recommend for the kiddos. The Ranch has Good Settings for Pictures. The Dark Alpaca’s name is Oreo, and the lighter alpaca’s name is Sonny. These guys were a bit Stubborn, but the guide told us that some are. They sometimes didn’t want to cooperate and Sonny tried kicking my friend. I’d recommend bringing an umbrella because the sun can be harsh. There’s a guide who explains a few rules and what no to do. There’s a little gift shop where they sell nice souvenirs and actual fur.

2022-05-09WOW!!! This ranch EXCEEDED my expectations! Def worth the trip! I took my mom for Mother’s Day and was expecting to walk around seeing the alpacas but NO— the tour starts out with information on alpacas and every group gets their own alpaca to walk around with. The alpacas were even dressed up with bows and bandanas!! They were calm docile animals that are clearly great with kids!! There are DOZENS of places to take pictures— the whole place is an instagram heaven. The staff was SUPER nice as well!!! At the end you can feed the alpacas and even pet the bunnies and goats on site. Even if you just go for a photo shoot, it’s worth it! It reminded me of Fredericksburg in a way, & you def forget you’re in the valley. So glad the valley has cute experiences like this. I will be taking my girlfriends when the weather cools down for photos! 100/10 stars!

2022-04-30Great experience! Alpacas are a very wonderful animal. Very clean, nicely decorated and friendly environment. I do suggest the later times when the sun is not so hot though but overall 10 out of 10.

2022-05-15Friendly owners, provided safety rules, freedom to walk the apacas yourselves, fresh room to relax, different sceneries for great photos, great place to spend with your family and bond together. Bring comfy shoes, water, sun protection, and lots of positive vibes. Souvenirs to buy and very worth it, and not to sure about food wise. I bought my mom a round floor mat.

2022-03-27Had an amazing 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend there! Walking around with an alpaca was a unique experience and there were plenty of holiday themed scenic areas for great photos! They also have chickens and rabbits along with a turtle. After we were done walking and feeding the alpacas we opted for a charcuterie dinner which was delicious! Definitely a great way to end the experience. The place was beautiful and the animals were fantastic 10 out of 10.
