We are always thrilled with our visits to the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. The workers and volunteers put so much effort and LOVE into the gardens, and it always shows! My family loves to go multiple times a year and see how the flower beds change with the seasons. Thanks for making such a beautiful space!
Absolutely beautiful botanical garden. There are so many different varieties of plants, as well as different sections of the gardens to explore. My husband and I came here for the first time yesterday and were blown away. We love the huge greenhouse as well as the Japanese garden. We were excited to be a part of garden fest as vendors, and we will definitely be back!
Its a small garden with a small price ($5) and during my visit in February, nothing was blooming outside. I did really like the Japanese Garden area, its pretty no matter what. But inside the conservatory building, its warm and moist and lush and green. Theres a waterfall with little ducks (dont let them out!) lots of benches a few things blooming at least. But the real entertainment on my visit was one of the Chinese Pheasants (the really colorful birds), a male, was circling a poor female and showing off his cheek and tail feathers whether she wanted to see them or not. Watching them run around drew what crowd there was. At one point, she hopped up on a ledge that he couldnt get to and they looked like Romeo & Juliet in the balcony scene. Poor girl, she looked a little harassed.
It seems that this place is not well maintained anymore. They charge $5 for the entrance per person but I feel that they should improve this place more. They have japanese garden that needs to add more bonsai trees. The water in the Koi pond was greeny and full of algea. They need to fix the filtration system. Over all, its a cute little place to relax and unwind.
Bring money for fish food if you have little ones, you will thank me later 😁. I lived here for over 30 years and never visited. It was worth the wait. The colors and smells will enchant you, the peace and cool spots will invite you to stay for hours. I had to drag my granddaughter away after 2 hours and she talked about it for hours. (Shes a energetic 3 year old). Cant wait for our next visit, I wil be more prepared! Loved it!!!
This is a a great $5 spent. They have several different themed gardens. I do believe the Japanese garden was my favorite. Then the conservatory 😍😍😍 I loved the tropical flowers.I could just sit in there for hours and just be still.Everyone I talked to was so friendly and very knowledgeable. What a beautiful treat!!
This is a lovely, lovely garden. Very well kept, with plenty of photo opts everywhere. The lady at the ticket The weather was very nice, so my daughter and I decided to have a mother/daughter day. There are plenty of shady, comfy benches to take advantage of. It would be an awesome place to take a good book, but dont forget your camera or you will be sorry. I couldnt stop taking pictures. Roses, shrubs, succulents, cactus and many more that I am unfamiliar with. Plan to take in some leisure time there. Its good for the soul.
This is a rare gem in Amarillo. We are a family of five from Dumas and have a family membership. If you go more than a couple times, it more than pays for itself. We stop by a few times a month to let the kids run around. The butterfly garden is great at the end of summer, and the jungle greenhouse is a nice place for the kids to explore. In the summertime, they have live music concerts in the garden and allow you to bring your own wine and beer - making it a great, affordable family outing.
Good place to stop on a cold windy day. The outside looked like it was still coming out of winter. I really enjoyed the waterfall and the birds in the greenhouse. It was a little overgrown inside, but really added to the jungle them. Looking forward to coming back and seeing what the place looks like in September.
I did some research before traveling to the Amarillo Botanical Garden, so I knew to expect a rather small location. I wasnt expecting the entry price, (14.00 for the two of us) which didnt match the fee listed on the signing. Once getting in, I was underwhelmed by the grounds. The one saving grace was the large greenhouse, which was very nicely laid out. Unfortunately, that one section alone was not, in my opinion, worth the price I paid. I doubt I will be back.
These gardens are small but clean and well maintained. There werent a lot of people when we went and it was very quiet and peaceful. One of the attractions is a fish pond where you can feed the fish and a very interesting statue of a frog playing the violin. All in all, a lovely place to spend an hour or two in Amarillo, especially when the weather is nice. The Christmas lights are a sight to behold!
Its winter, dont forget to dress warm. We live in Amarillo so wind is always a guarantee, bring scarves and ear muffs. Wow, Christmas lights were amazing. I was blessed to take a young couple on their 36th anniversary. This was mine and my 5 year olds first time here. He was ecstatic the whole walk through. If I would have dressed warmer we would have gone a second time around, it was that beautiful.
For $5 it is a nice area to walk around, however, within 10 minutes youve seen everything the garden has to offer - a small fish pond, flowers and foliage, and a few ducklings. If youre passing by on a road trip, its a good place to get out and stretch your legs, but I wouldnt necessarily make it a dedicated stop.
We were walking a couple of trails that we found on a trail app. On one of our walks we notice the Amarillo Botanical garden. We found the entrance and the cost was $4 for seniors and $5 for adults. We decided to give it a try. My wife and I really enjoyed the walk. We, in our married life, have lived in Hawaii and Las Vegas. We saw many of the plants and flowers of both in this garden. We felt it was well worth the walk.
The garden is well kept and extremely peaceful. So beautiful. The greenhouse with the beautiful scenery, waterfall, birds, and little ducks was our favorite spot. I overheard a little kid crying to his mother because he couldnt take a pumpkin home, one of the kind staff members saw the upset child and found a little pumkin for the child to take home. How awesome of them to go above expectations to make a guest happy. Love it.
Its beautifully landscaped with different garden areas. Its small enough to explore easily and large enough to give you places to walk, or sit in solitude. The conservatory is a tropical oasis in winter with (its currently snowing outside). The staff and volunteers are always friendly and knowledgeable. I love the botanical gardens 🦋🌻🦆. Every season brings new discoveries. Thank you for being a part of our community ♥️
This is a beautiful place to go and take pictures at! So dont forget to dress up, take the kids, check out the lights, go in the store area and get your you a hot cocoa, or even better get your 3D glasses! Those were the coolest. If you dont have kids make it romantic and take you Partner.
The gardens were fantastic! The greenhouse was an aviary of a small sort with a few golden pheasants and some very small ducks. After that the Japanese gardens and koi are well kept. They certainly have some awesome volunteers over there . It actually looks like it ovelooks a golf course. Look for the pumpkin patch in October Im sure it will be great.
Someone put some real thought into the layout of these gardens. They were beautiful! Not just rows of flowers, but lots of separate designs! Every gardens was a tribute to someone which made them that much prettier. The staff was knowledgeable and kind. There were fresh out of the egg ducklings that were just the cutest little puffballs! Eep! So cute.
Very beautiful, especially the Japanese garden. Perfect for wedding and receptions and the fees are reasonable. Plenty of room whether you want your event outside or inside or both. They have a wedding chapel set up, and indoor event center and an outdoor amphitheater.
A nice little botanical garden, with a good variety of species. I would have liked to see more signage describing the species’ habitats, etc. I especially enjoyed the Japanese-themed area. We visited in autumn, when many of the species were not blooming, and I am sure it would be much more beautiful in the spring.
Beautiful place to visit n take the kids! Has assortment of awesome foliage, inside and out, even better during the cold holidays. If not your thing, then drop the family off n go fishing for catfish during the summer months and rainbow trout during the winter months...Nov- March, lake is right behind
The gardens are beautiful, the staff on the other hand... the coordinator for events was so kind and seemed like she was going to be very accommodating for our wedding the first time we met with her. The day of was a totally different story. They promised to be there an hour ahead of time to let us in to do what we needed, they didnt show up until 10 minutes before and tried making me change into my wedding dress in the public restroom when I was assured Id have a room for that. She was very unprofessional and quite rude to us and our guests. Its a lovely place to visit but I will never suggest them for events.
We went out and fed the ducks walked Kenji enjoyed feeding the Ducks plenty of parking handicap as well quiet peaceful fun my daughters are ready begging me to take her back and feed the Ducks some more. Tables out there to have a picnic or bring your lunch benches under the tree to take a rest beautiful scenery going back if thats your kind of thing I would suggest you go it was fun.
The Amarillo Botanical Gardens has a number of lovely areas with different trees and flowers. The new a Japanese garden area is beautiful. In late fall and winter the conservatory offers an indoor experience that is not to be missed. Looking for a beautiful wedding locale? This is one of the best spots in the Panhandle.

Do you like plants? Then you have to check this place out. You can bring your own googly eyes if plants cause you anxiety or you just dont trust anything you cant look in the eye. Little suggestion... dont attach the googly eyes with super glue. You may be asked to leave and strongly recommend to never return. But that totally wasnt me... okay, maybe it was. But can you blame me? Plant anxiety is a serious condition.
I love Amarillo Botanical Gardens. I remember going there when they had the Christmas lights everywhere. I cant remember the name of the event. Im horrible with names, but, it was one of the most spectacular sights Ive seen. My daughter and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Nothing but excellent memories.

The Amarillo Botanical Gardens are totally amazing. There is always something to enjoy. Spring is charming but all seasons have something to recommend. At Christmas, the gardens are covered in lights. Truly magical.
We tried to utilize the Botanical Gardens as a wedding venue for our wedding. My wife had a medical emergency and I was deployed at the same time. When we tried to cancel our venue and request our money back we were not only denied that option but while I was overseas they harassed her by calling her over and over again refusing to speak to anyone else. I would never suggest anyone to use this facility for they do not have a sense of courtesy or professionalism. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
The Amarillo Botanical Gardens is actually quite beautiful. When you come to a mid-size town like Amarillo the first thought isnt usually I bet they have an amazing Botanical Garden But we do. I have been to the Botanical Gardens in BC Canada, Denver and a few other places. I am a nature lover and find a peace in being surrounded by living gorgeous plants and flowers. Besides the Botanical Gardens in the other cities being larger Amarillo really stands on its own two feet. In my opinion the terarium here is better then the one in Denver. They have different classes you can take throughout the year. In the Sumner they have Music in the Garden which was a brilliant concept. You can book the Gardens for a dream come true wedding, they have different events throughout the year. The night of lights at Christmas is by far the one that draws the largest crowd. They have 200,000 and it is the only time it is free to the public. They have Christmas music playing and Santa is there. It is really stunning and we have made it a family tradition. The Botanical Gardens is a place full of surprises. You should check into family and single memberships so that you can go and enjoy the beauty whenever you would like.
“Beautiful place with photos to prove it”We used the sat nav to find this place and it struggled so we were frazzled when we arrived. There was no one in the ticket booth and we were about to leave when someone came to take the money. It is a really small garden but it is worth a visit and there are some very pretty flowers and...
Will NEVER do business with the Gardens again. We booked our wedding a year ago, about 3 weeks before our wedding was to take place Katelyn calls to tell us they lost our payment and all receipts because of a change in office management . Then, the day of the wedding there was an issue with the ac and heat, the heat wouldnt turn off and our flowers were dying. They didnt get maintenance out until around 8/9 pm although we told the staff around 11 that morning. The staff was helpful and brought in a fan, but it was still a problem. That night Katelyn, the woman in charge, tried to shut us down at 9 because we had more than 100 people. Well, in our contract we reserved the venue until 1am and for 150 people, and also had paid for the security needed to serve alcohol. She then tried to tell us we would have to pay for their mistakes. We had to take time away from our guests to go to the office and go over our contract that they conveniently lost and could not find. The office is a joke, katelyn has no idea how to run a business, shes unprofessional, rude, on a power trip, and maybe the Gardens should consider making a few more changes in management.
“What a pleasant surprise!”We stopped here during our quickie tour of Amarillo. The horticultualists were recovering from a recent hailstorm that did quite a bit of damage, but despite that it was a very pleasant surprise. Its small and little in comparison to places like the Dallas Arboretum, but regardless they have a large selection of regional flora arranged in very pleasant form...
Update 10/28The Gardens has now called us back and basically harassed my daughter who came home from the hospital two days ago. Who does that.My daughter was supposed to be married at The Amarillo Botanical Gardens but she has come down with a very rare syndrome and had to have immediate surgery. I took the doctors notes to them and requested a refund of the deposit and they refused citing that it is the contract. Any business that doesn’t honor a doctors medical letter is not worth doing business with.Bad job Amarillo Botanical Gardens!!!
Every time I have been here it has been FANTASTIC - last year we attended ALL the concerts on Thur and enjoyed every one. Today our visit was on the same level even a LITTLE BETTER even if the Umbrella blew down and hit one of our group in the head. Everone was so KIND and tried to HELP US (even a Nurse sitting in front of us and a coulpe sitting behind us offer us something out of their cooler to ice it down). She is fine but everyone was so NICE - THANK YOU !!!!!

2022-04-11Small garden space but they have made the best of it with beautiful vignettes. Still a little too early in the season as most plants are just now coming out. Still a peaceful pretty place to spend an hour or so.

2022-04-11We got married here on Saturday, April 9th, and it was amazing. The staff that I dealt with directly, Avery and Shelbi were so knowledgeable and helpful. Avery, for the past few months has been an unbelievably amount of help. Giving me all of the information and double checking details to make sure everything was perfect. The set up and breaking down of the tables and chairs as well as taking away trash during our event saved us so much time off our set up and clean up. The bridal suite was absolutely gorgeous and made for beautiful getting ready pictures. If you’re considering getting married here I highly recommend it!

2021-08-04This was a great find. We searched Google Maps for some things to do while we were in Amarillo, and this popped up.Admission was reasonable and the employees very friendly. We were surprised at the size of the facility and variety of plants. The grounds were all in great shape. I’m sure this place takes a lot of upkeep, and the staff does a good job.If you think you would be at all interested give this a try – we have been to botanical gardens in larger cities and this place is really nice!

2021-08-24Amarillo Botanical Garden- Texas. What a cool place! My husband, Niece and I were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and unique it was. The different gardens were well planned out and there was a pond of gold fish in the Chinese garden. The walk was very nice and relaxing. It was so fun! We basically had the place to ourselves, which was great. I loved it.

2021-08-08What a cool place! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and unique it was. The different gardens were well planned out and there was a pond of coy fish in the Chinese garden. They encourage you to feed them, which we did. 😊 It was so fun! We basically had the place to ourselves, which was great. It was $5 for the two of us to visit, but it was worth it.
