We made our reservation on a wednesday morning , very glad we did as the place filled up quick that was only a half day to reserve a room . My best advice would be ,( if you can call ahead a couple days in advance and reserve your room . You dont have to pay over the phone or when you make your reservation . They hold a room for you until you get there and want you to pay then . Which saved your credit card from charges at a motel and we all know how that goes . Ok , if it is your first time to stay with them they will charge you , a $50 deposit that is all refundable at the end of your stay .. it gives them a chance to see you and for you to see who your hosts are . The staff there was friendly and helpful . They were always smiling and concerned that you were comfortable and if you had everything you needed. The rates were affordable . Under $70 dollars per night . And the charge a $20 pet charge per night that is not refundable. We stayed 3 nights but. Our family member Conagher is worth $60 bucks to be with us . The rooms were in good shape they smelled like fresh paint . Clean every where except , I think the carpet could of been some what cleaner . All in all our stay was enjoyable with no complaints . Thank you Americas best value Inn . We had a great time . Thanks for reading .. Oh one more thing , ok two more things . They have several different kinds of coffee all day and all night . And they have guest laundry for you to use . It were working in there while we were there but the same person owens the one next door and they offered for us to use that one. Thanks for reading .... We absolutely loved the hotel. The beds were very comfy and the shower had the perfect water pressure... however, I think the only thing I would have a complaint about is the evening staff does not communicate with the over night staff... For example, I went in to the office around 11to make sure they could give my husband a key when he got in. I told them he would be there between 12 and 4 depending on how many spots he made.. because I knew by the time he got there I would be asleep... but when he got there they did not have a key for him and the guy at the front desk said that he did not know anything about it and he was about to call my room and wake me up. I ended up waking up anyways to call my husband to see if he was ok so I made a trip to the office myself only to find out the staff I talked to didnt even tell him he was coming
This place is nice; clean room, decent furnishings, quiet atmosphere. They could definitely be more generous with the toiletries and the quantity of towels left for guests. There was only the bare minimum provided (one tiny shampoo and conditioner, 1 bar of soap and 1 lotion)- only enough for one person to shower with, I had to go buy shampoo, etc nextdoor at cvs. The price was ok, $153 for 2 nights and they let you pay cash if you want but deposit required. Oh and the tv remote needed batteries, so I could only change tv channels some times. Satisfactory stay overall, Id stay there again.
After taking my service dog, who had cancer, to the beach one last time, we looked for a reasonably priced motel on our route home, and found wed stumbled upon a room with a high quality television, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a full sized ironing board and iron, a dining table, a work desk, ice snack and soda machines, a pool, and something you rarely find: every single surface, nook, and cranny was spotlessly clean! Every single person working here from the top rung to the worker bees werent just polite, they were *happy* people. There was a lovely swimming pool, but wer arrived late in there evening and left relatively early in there morning, sp wed missed that opportunity. Behind the hotel was a large, open grassy area that was mowed for their pet friendly guests, and the remainder of a large field for those of you who dont mind getting knee deep in grass with your mutts like me and Toby. And to see us off in the morning they fed us.Honestly Ive had good experiences before at motels, but Ive never had any *better* experience than this!
The rooms are nice sized and clean the bathroom is Tiny though. TV didnt work since they just got DirecTV service and hadnt finished hooking it up yet and the people up front didnt know how to fix it. Front desk seemed to be helpful but really kind of wasnt especially with the TV incident. Overall yes I would go back but they need to get a couple things fixed that was not working correctly.
Manager/owner very rude, especially to women-- bed sheet appeared to have bed bugs and I didnt notice till day 2-- so I told him and asked for just a refund for that 2nd nite (85$ after tax)--not only did he say NO but he wouldnt come look at bedding at all !!! No smile , no manners- NOT hospitable !!!
Currently sitting in the empty parking lot waiting for our room to be ready at 1pm. We showed up at 11am asking if we could possibly get an early check-in if any of the rooms were ready-- I had previously asked over the phone when booking if they allowed early check-ins, and was told yes. The desk clerk said one of the rooms was ready but it would be $40! I had never been informed of any fee and was taken aback. After speaking to the owner he allowed us to have one of the rooms at 11am. I was told that the current guest had just checked out of the other room so it was not clean. The clerk promised to call as soon as it was ready. No call. At ten minutes till I return to the front desk. She informs me the room has not been cleaned yet. So just to be clear the place is empty. No one is here or attempting to check in but us. In two hours they had not managed to clean our room so we could check in. She offered me a smoking room that they had managed to clean, or one with different beds, or one on the second floor, ( my mother has cancer and can not climb stairs, so I requested a ground floor, nonsmoking 3 months ago), but our non smoking ground floor room was the last room they are attempting to still clean at 1:20pm still not in the room. I understand if a hotel can not accommodate you due to circumstances, but these people went out of their way to be unaccommodating. Worst customer service ever. This in the first bad review I have ever written.
I was put into a smoking room, however all the hotels in the area were booked up because of relief efforts due to Hurricane Harvey. The front desk attendant, Vicky made every effort to make my stay comfortable. The room was thoroughly cleaned out, an air ionizer was used to clear up the smoke smell. They also put our comforter through the wash a few extra times. It was a pretty decent room over all.
Very clean and respectful and no judgement on the things going on unless it affects place for business. Definitely THE ONE that reaches my standards for the children of the world!The owner is a part of the deal with the encouragement for this Krasitruth and my family!!
Service was nice upon arrival, breakfast was okay because of the selection of food, BUT!! Most of all this place did not have at all the room services you would expect,,they did nothing to some of the other room either and accommodate the cleaning, they did not even swept the floors, vacuum, dust ,absolute Nothing, they claim that we had a suitcase and thats why they did not clean the room at all, #Really where they do that At!!! I rate this place only because of the Very Poor Room Services, Please !!!!Dont Use this motel cause the price you pay you get the Worst Room Services Oh the Toilet did stop up for awhile,How bout That!
Stay was good fatamah was awesome but motel kept my deposit for burn hes in sheets and blanket....there werent any...very disappointed that they kept my deposit when we didnt even have a microwave in our room we had to ask for one....lady from office was in room and could plainly see nothing was wrong...good stay but not happy with keeping my deposit and nothing i can do about it....
Our room was not clean when we checked in. The maid hadnt even started on it. Once she was done and we went in there was an odd smell from the AC unit, the front desk lady said that was normal. The smell never went away the whole time we were there.Not even there for an hour and the smoke alarm went off while I was running the shower. The front desk lady came in and accused me of vaping in the room, saying that a maid saw me vaping outside and swore she could smell a flavor, and threatened to charge me $250 for smoking in the room. All I could smell was the stink from the AC. Two housekeepers proceeded to stand on the bed, in their shoes, to reset the smoke alarm.The bed was not comfortable, nor were any of the three chairs in the room. Both of the chairs for the table were broken and wobbly, as was the table itself. The desk chair was also broken and would tip all the way back very quickly unless you barely sat on the front edge of it. The fridge froze everything we put in it, so we lost most of the food we put in it. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels and donuts and not much else.I didnt use the pool, so I cant speak on that. The BBQ grills are a nice feature. Its also right next to CVS, so its easy to go buy drinks since they dont seem to have a vending machine at the hotel. The TV in the room was nice and big. The shower had good pressure and hot water.If you just need a place to sleep and shower, Id suggest the Motel 6 half a block away. Same price and no gimmicks. The beds are also much better and the furniture isnt all broken.
Now: Room smelled Terrible! (Non smoking room) Mold growing on ceiling and walls in bathroom, disgusting brown gunk around the faucet in bathroom like it hadnt had a proper cleaning in months and horrible stains all over the floor. AND they charge $20/per dog per night!! I have 2 18lb Cavs..they dont require a $40 room cleaning..and even if the did..ITS OBVIOUSLY not being used!! 3 Yrs Ago: Clean rooms and friendly staff! Enjoyed our stay.
Staff was nice, that wasnt the problem. The bed was lumpy, pillows were almost non existent, burn holes in the comforter. It was a smoking room, but still. Disappointing, because we spent our honeymoon in this hotel and it was lovely. Maybe we caught it at a bad time? The room was clean just uncomfortable.
Stayed here for our 20th anniversary get-away. GREAT place for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean, and the breakfast was awesome. Its away from Galveston, but not too far away.If I had to knock something, the pool was a little too warm. Not sure if they could do anything about it, but it was too warm.I would HIGHLY recommend this place.** Note: Both Google maps and the Americas Best Value Inn websites map have this place in the wrong location, so please be aware. Best is to call the hotel directly for directions. Its easy to find, but just be aware of the map issue.
Very quiet, relaxing, and clean. Taking a Cruise out of Galveston and this hotel is a great place to chill. Less then 30 minutes from port. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and front deck even had package tape we needed to put or luggage tags on. Would for sure stay here again.
They overbook their rooms. They will call you even though you have already paid for your reservation to make sure that you are coming so that they can give away your room. They have dirty rooms, the Sheets Were stained, the shower was dirty. I paid for a two queen bedroom they gave me two double beds and refused to refund any of the money for the extra cost on the website.
Water was brown. Not enough bedding on the beds, one little sheet isnt enough. No chairs or anything at the pool. One employee was very rude accusing that I hadnt paid for my pet and she was looking at the wrong room number, never got an apology. I would not recommend this place at all.
This place is really clean I have no complaints about that. The check in time was at 1:00pm but I couldn’t check in till 2:00 because the last family that was there didn’t checked out on time. I know that wasn’t the hotels fault but I still had to wait which wasn’t fun. Everything was good till I left the room and notice I had bites everywere. The room I was in has bed bugs. At first I though it was just me but my family members have bites everywere as well!!
I stayed in this Hotel for almost 2 months. The best thing about this Hotel was Angie! I cant say enough about her customer service. She was so helpful, very knowledgable, and she was very accomodating. She always took care of things and was on top of her game always! Keep up the good work and get more employees like her. Angie needs a raise!
I was disrupted at work. Management said we couldnt have any visitors that stayed to visit for more than 10 minutes. And that there was a curfew for people being outside. After my visitors left, manager went a looked in our room (which our door was cracked open) and shut the door.
Checked into Americas Best Value Inn in Alvin, Texas approximately an hour ago. My 1st question was a downstairs, 2 queen bed, smoking room available & the cost? She looked & replied yes. I again repeated it is downstairs, 2 queens, & smoking - she again said yes. I arrived at my room, unloaded, & noticed there was no ash tray in the room. I returned to the front desk requesting an ash tray to be told it was a non-profit smoking room & none available! So here I sit an elderly woman by myself, having to sit in my doorway to smoke... Not so safe!!!! Maybe if the girl at front desk had been paying more attention to my request instead of telling me all about her heart burn & hangovers shes having while pregnant, I would have a safe room to smoke in!!!! NOT HAPPY with my stay!!!! The name is Sandra Fair not Flippo (been changed)
Very nice place is very clean and the staff is friendly and very polite the towels are soft and big. You definitely get your monies worth the price is very reasonable. We see stayed in Alvin, TX very nice town Defiantly coming back and will look for more places where Americas Best Value Inn & Suites located.
Bed was a little hard but not so bad. Ac unit worked amazing. The next morning there were other guests outside talking really loudly by our door. It was quiet annoying. We didnt get up in time for breakfast so we didnt get to try it . Overall it wasnt too bad. Would stay again.
I had to pick my niece and her kids at Hobby and take them to the cruise lines the next day. Decided to stay at a hotel instead of traveling 60 plus miles back home with them coming in so late. Everything was booked except in Alvin, which is 18mi from the airport and then additionally to Galveston. Glad we did. We did not arrive till midnite, the nite manager was very pleasant, an even talked to me!! Usually they dont care, just check in quickly with no response except to ask how you would pay. Im sorry I did not get his name but he was very nice and even asked if there was anything else he could do before we went to our room. The room was very clean. The next day when we checked out (too late for breakfast cause we slept in!) Again sorry did not catch the name, but she was very nice and again talked to me!! The construction slows you down, but if you need to stay at a place close to the airport...for the money....I would go there again...
Margaret Dollery made sure our stay in Galveston, Texas was amazing. She took such a great care of us while we were staying at the Inn. Shes so sweet, humble & kind, shes wanted to make sure her guests were ALWAYS comfortable with their stay at the Inn. Ask for her when your staying at this Inn. We will definitely be back next time were visiting. Highly recommended for friends and families .
This hotel constantly flies a tattered American Flag. I personally find this discraceful. I’m sure Americans would rather see a beautiful flag. Flying a tattered flag is not only against United States Flag code, but also in violation with Alvin’s city ordinance.When I called this hotel regarding the situation, they said they couldn’t do anything about it...Discraceful...
DO NOT STAY THERE!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.. WE STAYED THERE JULY 22/23 2016 ROOM 207 WORST DECISION MADE. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR A NON-SMOKING ROOM BECAUSE MY TWO SON AND I HAVE ASTHMA, THEY SAID THEY GAVE US NON-SMOKING ROOM BUT IT SMELLED HORRIBLE LIKE A SMOKING ROOM THEIR SHEETS WERE HORRIBLY STAINED (TOOK PICTURES) ALSO THEIR BED COMFORTERS HAD CIGARETTE BURNS (PICTURES TAKEN) THERE WAS HAIR IN THE SHEETS (PICTURES TAKEN) THEIR AC KEPT ON GOING OFF ON ITS OWN (DIDNT WORK PROPERLY) IT WAS A TWO QUEEN BEDROOM WITH ONLY ONE TOWEL IN THE BATHROOM I COMPLAINED FRONT DESK AGENT SAID SHE WAS DOING LAUNDRY AND WOULD GIVE US SOME TOWELS WHEN THEY WERE DONE DRYING I SEND MY SON AT ABOUT MIDNIGHT BECAUSE I DIDNT HEAR FROM HER AND SHE ONLY GAVE MY SON 1 TOWEL. I WENT DOWN STAIRS TO COMPLAIN THEY OFFERED TO MOVE US ROOM AROUND 12:20 AM WE (WERE A LATE ARRIVAL CHECK IN) SINCE WE WERE TIRED OF A 5:30 HOUR DRIVE AND HAD ALREADY SADDLED IN THE ROOM AND DIDNT NOTICED THIS TILL AFTER TAKEN A SHOWER AND WERE ABOUT TO GO TO BED, A FAMILY WITH 3 KIDS DECIDED TO STAY THERE THAT NIGHT AND TALKED TO MANAGEMENT THE NEXT MORNING. WE WOKE UP IN THE MORNING AND MANAGEMENT WASNT THERE, WE LEFT ALL DAY TO THE BEACH AND ON THE EVENING ONCE AGAIN ONLY ONE TOWEL WAS LEFT ON OUR ROOM I REQUESTED ADDITIONAL TOWELS WE NEVER GOT. WE HAD TO USE OUR OWN PERSONAL TOWELS AND AFTER ALL THEY WERE TAKEN BY THEIR MAID AND DENIED THEY HAD TAKEN THEM ALSO MY FACIAL DAY CREAM FROM LBEL PARIS REGRESSION CONCENTRE NUIT WAS TAKEN FROM THE ROOM BUT MY OTHER NIGHT AND EYE CREAM WERENT TAKEN THE MANAGER DENIED HES PERSONAL HAD TAKEN THE TOWELS AND *MY FACIAL CREAM WHICH COST 89.99 + TAX* (WHEN I FOR A FACT KNEW I HAD LEFT IT THERE BECAUSE I APPLIED IT ON MY FACE BEFORE LEAVING TO THE BEACH) UNLESS IT GREW FEET AND WALKED OUT ON ITS OWN.I ABSOLUTELY REGRET BOOKING THERE AND STAYING THERE WITH MY FAMILY.***NO REFUND AT ALL WAS OFFERED*** OTHER THAN IM SORRY ABOUT THAT MAAM..PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS..I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE BUT I AT LEAST HAVE TO MARK IT WITH ONE STAR OR I CANNOT POST THIS..

2022-04-06I have not had a good experience at this Alvin motel/hotel. The staff that works there, do not pay attention to detail, and can be quite rude and underhanded. The Indian/Latin staff that works there have no qualms about giving persons other races problems. My self and family member, were fair and nice to them on our stays, but they dont have a high opinion of European-Americans at all. Stay away from this place if you can, it has bad management and their Indian staff are very argumentative and demeaning to customers of other races.

2021-09-26The staff was great! Jerry at the front was super nice! Bed, AC, sheets, and room were perfect! Shower didnt get BOILING HOT like we like it, but that water pressure was top notch! Will definitely stay again!

2021-12-26Work with the owners of this place many times. Theyre good people and really do a good job taking care of their place. They do their best to give good customer care and serve a lot of people that come for a long stints of time with their job.Update. Parents came into town and didnt have enough room in our house to put them up comfortably and figure they needed a place to get away and have quiet time so called owners up and reserved a room. Parents were both impressed with the room and very pleased. Itll be a awesome visit thanks to these people

2021-07-25The room had damage before we got there so we took pictures. 2 days / nights in a row the people in the room beside us were beyond loud and had a screaming puppy the WHOLE time ! Had to make several complaints, the manager wouldnt do anything about the screaming dog. And now manager is calling me saying that theres a hole in the wall that was there already. Im beyond upset with this place !! The least they could have done is offer a different room or try to make it better !!!

2021-07-23Room had a large water leak near the window. Very musty smelling. Housekeeping came at bizzare early hours one day (8:30) then never came back to clean. They removed the shower curtain liner and never returned it, making us get the outer curtain wet. Their loss I guess. Housekeeping very stingy with towels, didnt return sufficient wash cloths or towels a couple of days. Wifi Internet is borderline useless and is irritating to connect to.
