2021-12-14Great place for birding, alligators and other wildlife, when in the area, a trip to the nearby smith oaks bird sanctuary is well worth it.

2020-10-15The refuge is nice but not accurately labeled on map. The entrances are clearly marked and I do not recommend going through any gates that do not say wildlife refuge. The landowners file charges against trespassers.
