Anita Mexican Restaurant in other cities:
I really enjoyed my visit. The music provided a fun atmosphere without being too loud or distracting. The food was excellent and the staff was very nice and accommodating. One important note: investing in better cutlery could enhance the dining experience. overall, I highly recommend them if youre in town.
Got seated at 2:05, order was taken at 2:20. I ordered the enchilada plate, chicken, with extra cheese. The waiter repeated the order and he had it right. What I got was two little taquito size rolled tortillas with a little cheese in the middle, no chicken. My son had the burrito, he also had one coke with refill and we were charged almost $3 for each of the drinks. All total, for this and an appetizer of jalapeño poppers we paid over $35.Would not recommend, not worth the money.
This place needs more love! Check them out for your next lunch or dinner. Hidden in the strip near Specs.Starter: some of the better salsa and green sauce from any Mexican restaurant around. Food prices are in a great range AND the portion sizes are satisfying. Tortilla soup is great!
I like to try out new Mexican restaurant here and there. One day while out shopping I decided to stop in here for lunch. I was seated quickly. There werent many people there. I was served my drink fairly quick. I ordered my meal and it arrived about 10 minutes later. It was just okay nothing worth wanting me to come back for. The price was average. The employees were a bit stand offish. Not unfriendly just kind of blah.
Pros: Food was good, but not great. They give a red and a green salsa with chips. We really liked the green sauce, it was like a creamy guacamole. I like spicy food and they have a habanero salsa that has good flavor and some serious heat, but you have to ask for it. Waiters were very attentive. Even though the kitchen was slow the waiters came by frequently to check on us in refill chips and drinks.Cons: definitely need to upgrade their ticket/receipt system, when we got the check it doesnt have the names of what you ordered, it literally says Item1 $6.99, item2 $9.99, item3 $9.99 etc. We had to count the number of items we ordered to confirm how much we ordered and we were actually overcharged by 1 margerita but they took it off when we asked about what the different prices were. Prices were fair, most dishes around $10-15 at dinner, but based on the downscale atmosphere I would have expected to pay a little less. The kitchen was slow. I didnt keep track of the time but it was definitely noticeable that our food was taking a long time.
Our first and last time coming here. Was out Christmas shopping and decided to stop in for lunch. Took the adults drink order and did not even ask the kids what they would like. Female server seemed confused the whole time. Guacamole was sour and notified the waiter to which his response was would you like me to get you some more. NO! Why would we want more bad food. WILL NOT BE BACK!
I come to Conroe quite frequently and love Mexican food and triedl several in the area. Anitas was fantastic food at reasonable prices. The only thing that is not good is the service. The waitresses were not very friendly.but service was ok and that is why i gave it 4 star instead of 5.
My husband and I ate here Saturday. We ordered the beef fajita nachos as an appetizer and they are seriously the best nachos Ive had in such a long time. Our entrees were really good too. The service was great and their prices were very reasonable. This is our new favorite Tex Mex place to eat now!! Cant wait to go back.
Margarita was awful this time. Food was still good but was server served a $10 Margarita with no alcohol in it🤨 last time I was there we had the best waitress and one of the best margaritas Ive had in a long time. This time I kept questioning the Margarita to the waitress and got no help from the waitress. When the bus boy showed up to take our check because the waitress was too backed up.I explained what had happened but got debated and even he even admitted she did not put the alcohol in it. I will always pay for what I buy but this was no $10 margarita. I should have spoke to the manager but have had a day where I messed up and had to give a customer $167 in expidated Shipping to smoothover a mistake on my part. You should have done something???? Instead of grabbing the money and running. That $10 cost you 2 loyal customers. Will not go back!
Wish there were 6 stars, this is the best Mexican restaurant around! The food is always awesome and tasty! Sweet tea is always on point! They are family based also so great hospitality and friendly staff! Do yourself a favor and try it, this will be your go to Mexican restaurant from here on out! Also if you are around New Waverly they have a restaurant there also! 😋😋😋😋
We had Lunch after church on Sunday the atmosphere felt welcoming and it was our first time coming in we loved the service that we received by Manuel he was of great help when asked the recommendation since being our first time in the establishment Food was awesome and very flavorful the rice very tasteful too. My Family and I will continue to give Anitas our business because they have everything We loved-ServiceOlivers Special
The food is good! Service is excellent. The lunch special is 7 days a week 11 to 2. I got here at 1:45 but didnt order till 2:01 and missed out on the special :( They take it serious around here folks! I had beef fajita enchiladas instead and they were delicious! Ill definitely be back. Cost like $10 a plate if you miss the special.
Always fresh and great service.6/2/20 Adding to my review, this place is usually our first choice for Mexican food. The food is really good and fresh.I was disappointed in our most recent visit due to our waitress not understanding a lick of English. We even pointed at what we wanted on the menu and it was still served wrong. This is huge to me for many reasons I will not get into right now, so Anitas has lost 2 stars from me.I am sure we will return for a chance to earn them back.
Good food, good prices. Not good service. The last three times weve been, weve had the same waitress. Have to flag her down just to get drinks, and refills. Couldnt get her to take our order. Finally mothers day we went with family and had to ask for a different waitress/waiter with whom we had no issues
Been looking at this place for a couple months, finally decided to try it. Had the flautas, they were pretty good. Service was prompt, food was delivered within 10 minutes. The green sauce was a little weak for me, little salt fixed it and the beans were a bit thin, but they were good. Nothing was greasy as some Mexican restaurants suffer from. Loved the atmosphere, just kinda feels mashed together and homey. Was a good visit and probablyll go back.
Pretty sure they put something in my food or drink. I’ve eaten here before and the food was great, but there was new staff here I’ve never seen before. I was very friendly, but they for some reason kept looking at me and laughing. Then after my food came out, she asked me how the food was, and as she walked away she looked at another server and they began laughing again. Pretty obvious when someone is laughing at you if they keep watching you and I was the only customer there. It’s now an hour after my meal and I’m feeing sick.
This was my 3rd time eating here, and I must say the food is very good. However, in my opinion their staff needs work on their English speaking skills as they never seem to get my order quite right. Also, I learned that anything on the menu that contains fajita beef, they add an extra charge on to your bill...that doesnt seem right to me..just saying..I wont be back unfortunately.
Very bland ground beef and tasteless salsa. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was a weird, bright, radioactive-colored green and tasted like lime Jello. I didn’t finish it. Also, they have such poor ventilation that my hair and clothes stink of fried food. Service was just OK. I give it 2 stars instead of 1, because it seems they are following COVID regulations and it’s a clean place.
Here in the Houston area, its hard to drive more than a few blocks and not see yet another Mexican restaurant. Our Mexican food scene is very competitive so when I try out a new place like this, the first thing I do is order Tex-Mex. If youre a local, just go ahead and cut to my last two sentences of this review... If youre not; read on.First the good: (1) they have beer... and it is cold. (2) they have good salsa, although served in a bowl that belongs in a dollhouse. (3) they have friendly wait staff, although with only three tables occupied while I was there, they were hard to run down. thats the end of the good.I ordered the Caballo one chicken ( I subbed it so as to have a taste of both) & one beef enchilada, one crispy Taco... Some rice and guacamole. This is the simplest test imaginable for an acceptable Mexican restaurant. Absolutely nothing on my plate is worth mention, it was simply bland innocuous fare. Overcooked, burst rice, two tablespoons of guacamole of a strange consistency, a soggy taco and a pair of enchiladas anyone could forget. The interior decorations and furnishings border on depressing.I noticed several reviews on this restaurant to be quite glowing, which tells me that perhaps service and food quality vary (a lot!). And there might be some stellar dishes that this restaurant prepares, but in failing my simplest of tests Ill never know of them because I wont be dining here again.
Only Mex-Tex place we could find open on my birthday. Mom and pop type place- very clean, loved that they were following CDC guidelines, people spread out, severs with masks, disinfecting, etc. Food was extremely good, servings sizes were large and prices very reasonable. Overall great experience. This will be my new go to Mex-Tex place!!
Good food, bad service. The 2 ladys that were there on 06/14/19 in the evening were very rude and barely acknowledged us. They gave no verbal answers, only nods and mumbling. The food is good, honestly, if they started doing home made flour tortillas the food would be a lot better.
Well the service was ok but the Good was a little weird. I ordered my 2 yr old daughter an enchilada and the tortilla was just very dofferent in texture and taste I didnt even take it to go, she didnt really eant to eat it. The shrimp cocktail I had... Well the tomato sauce I had was very good but the shrimp definitely tasted as if they came out of a bag. I enjoyed the food qt the momeny that I was hungry although I would never eat here again.
My husband and I are NOT fans of green salsa but this was by far the best weve ever had; being Mexican ourselves Ive tried ALOT of different salsas and never liked the green. We ordered the Parrillada for 2 and its was delicious; fajitas were perfectly spiced and the queso flameado was mouth watering. We will definitely we going back soon.
Sat in a back booth right by the waiting station and still could not get service. Both of us were out of tea through the whole meal waitress walked by our table numerous times and would not even look or acknowledge us, she grabbed our money real fast though. The food was ok nothing to write home about do not order retried beans unless you like soupy watered down paste. We both found hairs in our rice as well, the saddest part is it cost more than much better mexican restaurants around. It was our first and last time here. Taco bell has better food than here!!
We saw this restaurant and decided to take a chance. Its hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in the Conroe area.Well Im glad that I stopped in, we had the fajitas for two mixed meat and they were perfect. It came with a side of rice, guacamole and Pico. A most delicious side of charro beans really made the meal perfect! Great service so hurry up and get here!
Wife and I came in on Sunday at 10:30. Wife wanted lunch and I wanted breakfast. We were told you cant order lunch and breakfast on the same order. Only one or the other. We would have paid separate tickets if needed, but that wasnt allowed. We walked out and they didnt seem to care. Breakfast and lunch were on the same menu given to us and they were cooking both. You just cant order both.
A new Mexican restaurant, in a city that has too many Mexican restaurants. This one is unique, not a chain, with fresh tasting food, served hot and with great service from Juan. I had enchiladas with fajita meat. I have many allergies so Juan advised what would be safe for me. Instead of rice and beans just salad. Perfect meal, and chain places bye bye my new go to is Anitas. I came before lunch time, so not yet busy. Refreshing to go to a place without blaring music or tvs. I really enjoyed my first visit, and will look forward to coming again soon.
The food is ntr horrible, but there is nothing authentic about this place and nothing about it really wows me, also the food is a little expensive for the low quality it is and being so close to the 99 cent store... if you cant handle spicy food and never had true blue Mexican food you will like this..
I visited Anita’s yesterday with my family and we were impressed by the food and the Great Service we were taken care of by Manuel We had Fajitas Poblanas and also tryed the tortilla soup which was delicious I highly recommend visiting and having the great experience Family Owned Restaurant and they have great Green Sauce...

2022-02-10Pleasantly Surprised! I’ve had some bad experiences lately so I looked for a new place to get good TexMex Food and wound up here. Salsa is fresh, made in house and served warm. Yes! My dinner plate was well portioned and a good value. Lots of variety on the menu. Service was kind and friendly. I will come back and I would say it is worth you trying out if you have never been here. It’s not fancy but it’s clean and it looks and feels like the kind of place a family might own and operate.

2022-04-30Dont waste your time with the chain Mexican restaurants. This place serves great fresh Mexican food at pre-pandemic prices. Excellent hidden jewel. The staff were very friendly.

2022-05-04Had a team of servers who where attentive and helpful keeping my Sweet tea full. The sour cream enchiladas slapped hard with a rice and beans and a nice Pico/lettuce mix to add some greens to the mix.Reasonably priced and very happy to have a decent meal right after or before donating plasma right next door. Thanks Chris for your excellent service and getting me out before the dinner rush.

2022-02-18I have eaten here quite a bit. The food is usually good and the waitstaff is almost always not good. Went for lunch this week and I waited at the table for almost 15 minutes for someone to take my order, and it wasnt even busy. The waitress was very dismissive and never even looked me in the eye. She brought my food and I never saw her again. Never got a refill on my drink or asked if I wanted more chips. The queso was barely warm and the enchiladas were dry. Then I had to finally flag someone down after waiting 15 minutes for my check. Most of the reviews here complain about the waitstaff. Maybe the management should take notice and do some more training or something.......

2022-06-04I definitely had better food .. service was not great . When my daughter told me her taco smelt funny I told (I’m assuming the manager since he had a different color shirt than the others) that the meat had a sour smell to it and my daughter said it tasted funky too … he shrugged his shoulders and said “well nobody else has complained and we have been very busy today so idk” .. that was EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE and VERY INCONSIDERATE OF HIM !!! Just because of that response I will never be coming back .. if you guys want excellent food and great customer service I recommend Angie’s on Frazier . Ladies there are sweet and food is delicious.

2022-05-08I ordered enchiladas, which wasnt that great at all. When I first got there, no one greeted me, I had to literally find my way to the back and wait for someone to assist me. Once the young lady assisted me today, she took my payment, gave me the receipt and walked away. She come back 10 minutes later and point to a table by the wall and says while pointing theres your food right there as if I was supposed to know this. Im done!!! I will never patronize this place again, customer service sucks.

2022-06-15Always wonder why this parking lot is so empty. The food was good. The salsa and green sauce are amazing! Reminds me of Ninfas green sauce. The queso was okay, just cheese, but they did serve it with a side of ground beef.

2022-04-16My first time at this location, food came out piping hot and Chris was our server who did an exceptional job. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back for many times to come.

2022-05-05The food was good but the service was a mess. I was missing items from my order and had to pay extra to fix their mistakes. I regret not taking the extra 10 minutes to go to Mama Juanitas on League Line.
