Very slow service that night. We visited once before in the afternoon and were very pleased. But in Sunday evening, the kitchen was very slow and we could actually hear them laughing and cutting up from our table at the front of the house.
Never coming back again the service was very terrible and the food took forever it was 10 minutes before I even got my drinks and another 25 minutes just for the appetizers it was only chips and salsa it shouldn’t take over 5 minutes to get that out and the waiters/ waitresses they where all just sitting down talking and wouldn’t come to are table till after to get me a refill the food was terrible I wasn’t even hungry after waiting that long for my food never coming back.
I love apple bees! But there is a big problem with the bugs in my salsa/chips. I don’t want to embarrass anyone, but that is nasty. Please get this stuff fixed. It’s disgusting.
Service was awful, I know is a hassle to hire people right now, but the waitress either got overwhelmed or she just wanted to get greedy and take more tables. I know that a server makes his/her money on tips, but having too many tables the customer gets bad service ( ish service ) if you cant get refills or checking on the customers. Next time (if theres any) Ill try the bar. 😉

My family got me a gift card to apple bees the other day and I was super excited till I got there! The waitress told me the bone-in wings were half off so I got them and then come to find out they werent. So I ask to talk to the manager and I explained to him what happened and he said sorry I cant do anything about it then walk off!!! Rudest person ever. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK! Youre a manager for a reason so do your job next time! We pay your bills, without customers you wouldnt have a job. So do them right. Especially when it was your employees fault!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went here with my boyfriend and expect it to be amazing but when we got there the service was horrible waiters was not up to speed food was bad when asking for a refill we waited 15 minutes and had to ask 2 times food is expensive for no reason it should be less for how gross and dry the food was never again will I be back
My first time and the food was amazing. The sitting was like Chilis, and the food reminded me of Olive Garden, our order was taken quickly as well brought out to us just as fast. The staff are amazing people.
The customer service was excellent and so was the food! Everyone was so sweet and made it a wonderful experience! The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because they didnt have everything other Applebees does.
Went in with my daughter to get drinks. The waitress was rude and took forever just to take our order which consisted of water for my daughter, a Raspberry Cosmo for myself and the Spinach Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. The Raspberry Cosmo tasted like straight cranberry juice with no alcohol at all and even seemed watered down. It even lacked the sugar and twist that was supposed to come with it. The dip seemed to lack basic salt and pepper and the spinach needed to be chopped up more for a dip. The salsa that came with it was horrible to say the least. Had to call the waitress just to get the check. She would have received a better tip had she been more attentive, because I was considering ordering a different drink, since I was planning on writing a review. This was all at around 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday, which every server should be jumping at a chance to serve to two people who just want to order expensive drinks.
The consistency of the food is the only thing wrong with this place. Its 50/50 whether the food is good, or dried out. And unfortunately its not whether its busy or not, I have gone in at both times, its just simply whom ever is cooking.Other than that the drinks are good, and the desserts are delicious.Only other complaint is that I wish they would update the pictures of the school teams around the restaurant, some of the pictures are of my friends and I in sports from back in 2012.

Since Applebees got a new Manager they are Friendly fast and Polite. The manager even came Speak to us. Our appetizer was actually hot. The food was on point. New changes New management makes everything much better.

I ate at Applebee’s in Athens Texas ordered a meal to go and two to go boxes. I received my order to go about 30 minutes later and I received my one to go box 30 minutes later and I need it two boxes for our food to take with us. My family and I were tired of waiting so I left the food on the table that I was going to take home. I took my to go order got in the car and called the restaurant and talked with the manager named Heather. She argued with me why I didn’t get up and find someone else to get my two boxes for my leftovers. The managers at Applebee’s in Athens cover each other even when they are in the wrong. It is not my job to find someone that works there to bring me two boxes from my leftover food. When I already asked my waitress and a manager. I will not eat there at this location in Athens again. Rude customer service very unfriendly for a manager.To tell a customer it’s their fault for not getting the boxes for them to take their food home. Sorry excuse for a manager.
My burger tasted a little Blane but the Frys were alright I was just coming in for dinner with family but it was a enjoyable time

My family and I was visiting from Indiana. The holiday inn employee, Jessica, recommended Tania. The service was great. Food was great. We did take out and it was ready in 15 minutes or less. We came here again after a while away to find new management. The new manager, Josh, is fantastic, very personable, and has already made the experience much better than Ive had before. Absolutely recommend.
Walked out... when entering the host sat us right away as it was not busy. We then sat for roughly 30 minutes without being acknowledged. Host walked past multiple times seeing we did not even have menus until my wife went up to the front and grabbed menus. 2 waiters walked by multiple times without acknowledging that we were even there. The waites/host could have atleast said we will be with you in a minutes. I understand if they we low staffed and busy but to not even say hello, provide menus or get a drink order within 30 minutes is ridiculous.
My wife and I dined here tonight, as it had been around 6 years since our previous disappointment at this location. We wanted to give them a chance. Waitress was very sweet, however stretched thin as the only one working main dining. We had two separate drink specials...one included fruit flies, however it was replaced nearly 10 mins later. Both of our drinks were essentially sugar water slushies, w/ very little alcohol. We also ordered chips and queso, which was decent in taste though it was a very small portion and cold. The restaurant felt very dirty and musty. We left after our app and will likely not return to any Applebees in the future.In todays time...even in Athens, there are so many other great places to eat and drink. Well support others from now on.

Ordered through app and went in to pick-up order. When I arrived and went in had to wait for employees to finish their conversation before they acknowledged that I was even there. Finally one ask me if I was there to pick-up a order. Said yes and she went back and came back with it. Food was good Ordered irresistibles bowls probably wont order them again tasty but not great.
Worst service ever! The waiter seemed very distorted from the beginning. We ordered our beverages and had to continually ask for them to be brought to us. We got our appetizer and food. My husband had RAW wings and asked the waiter to take care of them. 30 minutes later, no wings or communication about them. During this same time, numerous other customers were complaining about the same waiter. We left still hungry and upset. Either a change of management is needed, a better kitchen staff, or a new wait staff. Simply ridiculous service tonight. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!
Good sandwich but got soup with it even though I ordered salad. Waitress seemed to be trying but didn’t seem to know what’s up. Worst thing was dirty coffee cups. Asked for refills. Cups were taken away and brought back but my cup had lip stick on rim and I wasn’t wearing any. Yuck

Love the food here. But...customer service is just horrible anymore. The waitress messed up my order not once but twice! Last visit I did curbside pickup and my order wasnt ready at the time I chose. For some reason it was delayed an extra 20 minutes! Just lost my biz!
Tonights visit was good. Almost everything was Acceptable. The food was not bad and the service was good. Were still having to ask for stuff we had automatically pre Covid-19.

Prices alittle high , receipt confusing be sure and double check. If you have any problems ask for Clint he will fix it for you.
I really should not give it a stars. My family and i went for lunch and it was terrible. We ordered drinks and they were watered down. Their excuse was they were shorthanded because it took forever for someone to take our order. Of course, we left. I dont care if you are short handed, everyone should do their best and not let your customer know what is going on.

The friendly server did a great job of giving us space since we did not want to order immediately. After our drinks , the appetizer and entrees we ordered were excellent. My steak was cooked just the way I like it, and the salmon was perfect also. We had every need met, yet werent bothered excessively with interruptions, which is so important when you are trying to talk to someone! The music in the background was just right.
I’ve been to this location multiple times prior to this rating. I have never had such a unpleasant experience. At a restaurant that I once enjoyed going too. I went to Applebee’s for my birthday on a Wednesday night. I ordered the 8oz steak medium well. Instead of getting what I ordered I was given a steak that was 6oz. I got mashed potatoes instead of getting loaded potatoes. The waitresses attempted to fix my order while my family and I were eating. The cook took so long to correct the order that I didn’t get to eat with my family. So we had to get the meal to go. Another reason why I am writing this review. I never got a 8oz steak. The cook made me another well done 6oz steak. That’s was so dry even with steak sauce. The only thing the manger did was give us a $5 dollar credit. When my family’s entire evening was ruined. Because I didn’t get to eat dinner with them for my birthday. It will be a long time until I ever eat at a place like this again.
I had the worst experience ever, went there last night (Sep 3,2020) for dinner around 8:45. When we got there they sat us down really quick, the waiter came to ask us what we wanted to drink and we ordered, about 5 mins after she came back with our drinks, than she left she said she was going to be back to take our food order. 9pm came, she didnt come back, than... 9:15 nothing, 9:30 no show, we waited over 30mins for to come to take our food order, I was ready to leave, walk out, I called the manager for that night and told her what happened, she called our waiter, when she finally came back to take our food order she came with the worst attitude!!!! And I called the manager again to make another complain, she said she was sorry and she was going to take care of us for the rest of the night. During our dinner time we didnt get plates or napkins after we ask many times. I dont think Ill be back

My party of 3 was seated and 2 other parties seated minutes after. Waiting from hostess to come for drink order never came to us went to the second party that came in after us ok no problem so continued to wait and then the other party got their drink order taken so now we are leaving and said something to the manager that and she didnt even try to act like she cared so we left. We will never return to Apple Bees in Athens, Texas. Worst Service Ever

Excellent customer service, and great food. I got the endless chicken tenders and must say I was quite satisfied. The tenders came out nicely warm, and the honey mustard was excellent. My wife even commented that this is on her restaurant to return to list. She normally doesn’t like to go out because it seems like everything we order from almost everywhere we can make at home better and less expensively.
Took a friend of mine here for her Birthday today. Service was great but my Baby Back Ribs were the leanist of meat on the bone than Ive ever had. Much more bone than meat. Usually the meat practically falls off the bone its so tender. What happened today? Never had such scrawny baby back ribs. Had to take what little meat there was of the bone with my teeth. My friends meal.and complimentary ice cream treat was great. My first time out since the pandemic began and was looking forward to some mouth watering ribs but not the case today. Wish I had thought to take a photo. Back to Chilis for my baby back ribs. Sorry Applebees.

Second time in a row we have found this restaurant severely understaffed causing the service to be extremely slow and inattentive. Ordered a sizzling platter that was only warm on the bottom. Top of all of the food ordered was cold for all three people in our party. The only reason a second star was given was that at least they got the flavor right. Very dissatisfied customers here.
This place is horrible. The bartender was rude and argumentative. My husband and I were offended. We will never return and pass on our experience to anyone who might go there. What a waste of time and money. Dont go

I love this place! They serve high class dishes, their menu is varied, The cook in that restaurant is well trained, I enjoy very much tasting all their dishes. The food is consistently of high class, the service towards the clients is good. I often eat in this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I highly recommend it.
Are here while our kitten was seen to at the vet clinic and the waiter and waitress were so much fun... Of course the food was just great!
Currently sitting here. Just finished a classic bacon cheeseburger that had a lot of grease that ended up on my white tee shirt. The table is sticky, can’t really tell if it’s from the cleaning and not adding hot water to dilute the solution. My companion received an extra small to go box for his full menu order. Then at the end table 2 young adult male youths are having a very loud discussion (they used the N word which is very rude and disrespectful). The staff standing right next to the young men said nothing did not address it at all. And with the system set up like it is. Today, they get a pass. I’m on business. This was not my best experience. So if you’re driving through and you consistently and constantly are on US HWY 175 like I am for work and you’re a woman of color. This is what you could possibly run into.
They are amazing. Food was great and ready before time! (I ordered thru the app for curbside) very friendly and professional! Small oops on my order but was corrected in minutes and given a free soda! Had a steak that was cooked perfectly! Ill be back for sure!
Great experience! We came in on the 6th of September for a nice relaxed dinner, and the servers were friendly and curdeous. The food was cooked to perfection and was brought out to us faster than we expected! 10/10! Thank you so much for being so accommodating when our party of 25 hot, sweaty baseball boys came in at 9pm at night. Your staff went over the top to help all our tables. Food was great and the staff was even better.
The table top tablet there for you to play games and pay out was absolutely filthy! You could see fingerprints and smudges as if had never been wiped off. The salt and pepper shakers were also grimey feeling and the table was sticky. Close attention to detail is expected but here, any attention would have been wonderful!The loved the double crunch shrimp and had a baked potato substituted for the fries. The loaded baked potato was loaded with butter but barely any cheese or bacon. The brisket tacos were good but the brisket was sweet. Thats just my taste though. Lastly, out waiter, Bill, had no personality at all. I felt bad for being a reason he had to work tonight. He wasnt angry acting, just no friendly attitude at all. It will take a lot to get me to return anytime soon.
Seated by a great young man named chandler in less than 10 minutes. Waitress Christi immediately had our drink orders and got the ball rolling... Food was served fast and cooked perfect. Margaritas were great too. Drinks were kept coming never had to ask. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend it!
3:00 lunch, had the 2 for $20. Good price but very limited selection. Burger, chicken strips or pasta, salads or split a limited selection of appetizers. Happy hour, the same, great price ($1 beer but only Keystone) but limited to a couple selections.Our waitress was seated too heavily & possibly new. But she did well, all considered, great effort.Food was average, lime chicken was not served hot, BF said burger was tolerable. Not the best adjective for food. Doubt we will return.

Sat us at a table, no choice for booth. Appetizers were cold, food came for 2 of the 3 of us, one dish cold and under cooked, I sat for another 15 minutes with no drink, until my burger came out. No apologies for the wait. Pretty underwhelming service and food tonight.

We stopped in for dinner on a cross country sales trip. We had a very good meal and the staff was very attentive. After we left and had driven over 75 miles, I realized I had left my new and very expensive sunglasses behind. I called the restaurant and Andi the hostess answered the phone. She said she had them and would mail them to me. I asked her to let me know what it would cost to send them and she said not to worry about it. She was very busy but she told Melissa, another hostess, about my situation and they got them in the mail to me. (Melissa let me know when she mailed them - she also said dont worry about the cost and wished me happy holidays) I want to thank them both so much. We will absolutely be back to this restaurant.
The majority of their food is pretty cooked, Frozen and heated up at the restaurant. And it tastes just like its precooked, heat it up and served at the restaurant. Their hamburgers are decent. Another huge complaint I have is that if they ever serve anything good they take it off the menu after about 2 months.

Service was slow, brought one meal out 20 minutes before the other 5 meals. Then 1/2 the food on the other meals was cold. Not a good experience.
Took forever to get the food. Then it was wrong. Our drinks were wrong. The fijitas that I did get was a mountain of onion for 17$. I didnt know that onions were that rare a commodity. We got a fajita skillet and no plates..i would have been embarrassed ...manager tried to make it right. But at that point I gave up. Athens is very lacking in decent places to eat.
Was seated and then waited for over 10 minutes at the table and the server never came to greet us. The restaurant was not busy at this time either. Got up and left.Update - changed from 1 star to 3. Gave it another try and Was seated right away. the friendly waitress greeted us promptly. The food was good as was the service this time.
Really enjoyed the environment, wasnt too loud to enjoy my own company while dining with Applebees. ALSO our waitress Amber is the best waitress Applebees has ever had in my time of being a customer for over a Decade. She always Sparks a conversation of our interest and quickly adapts to our personalities to maximize our experience here. 5 Stars for sure, definitely recommend to anybody looking for a chill environment and Great service/food.

Took an hour to get our food. People that came in sometime after us got their food and where leaving when we were finishing up. However, our waitress, Dawn was great.

I havent tried Applebees in Athens before. Our server Pat was friendly and helpful, its always nice to have an attentive server. Our food was hot and very good. The only thing I didnt care for was the chips seemed to be burned. Our server did get us a fresh platter of chips. Ive never had the loaded mashed potatoes and I probably wont again because they are way to good.
Ive been to this Applebees twice, once tonight and another on mothers day. Both times I went not only was the service bad but the food wasnt that great either. Tonight was by far the worst out of the two.. I normally try to give good reviews but when it happens twice at the same place something just isnt going to change.
I wanted to go out to a nicer restaurant in Athens, Texas. So, my boyfriend decided to take me to AppleBee’s. We had a great time. The food was exquisite and got to our table in a timely fashion. The service was great. Everyone working was respectful and polite to us, and I would definitely tell a friend to come here for a night out! 10/10
Poor. Waitress seemed overwhelmed. 12 minute guaranteed lunch took 25 minutes to arrive but no off honoring the guarantee. A couple on another table had a similar issue and the waitress got obviously annoyed they asked. Someone on our table had to ask for their salad. Drinks orders were confused. Food was ok when it came.
This was the first time I have ever had problems.. waitress was horrible.. she came to the table multiple times and couldn’t remember anything. Asked for lemons 4 times for drinks and eventually got them. They also ran out of sour cream for the potatoes but it was only 1pm so I’m not sure how that happened. I ordered off the lunch menu and was supposed to have my food out in 12 minutes and it took 30 minutes. the manager told me I had to ask for my food to come out in 12 minutes when it’s a big crowd or they won’t bring it out (which i have never had to do) but the big sign out front clearly states if it’s not out in 12 minutes it’s free. So that was one meal for free... next we asked for a beer to come out wit the meal not before.. and of course the beer comes out 10 minutes before the meal because she forgot I guess. Macaroni and cheese had noodles and shredded cheese!! So after we pay for our food my brother in law realizes his card is not there and i go to figure out y and the actual manager has dropped it in someone else’s car when he went out to do the carside pick up and not once did anyone come tell us. 2 managers and our waitress knew but didn’t say anything until we asked.. the manager asked if we wanted them to bring the card back still since he would call and get another card anyways, well y tf not!? he lied and said the people were coming back but he hadn’t even talked to the guy, we watched him make the call to ask if the card was even In the car and then asked them to please bring it back.. so now another ticket was free.. oh and now he also had to call and and get another credit card.. we went to celebrate a birthday and after everything got messed up we didn’t even ask for them to sing happy birthday to my sis.. thanks Applebees!!

Everything was so good, it’s nife and quiet so you can talk with the person your eating with but friendly enough to chill out. Great food for decent prices. Drinks from bar are also good. Tania is a funny bright waitress.
They got the food out within 30 minutes. The waiter Justin was nice and friendly. However, it was a little chilly inside. If your cold natured, might want to bring a jacket. The sirloin stake was very tough and grissely. The triple Bacon burger was wonderful.
They were very accommodating.. 17 people in our party at 9:30pm. We were hot and tired and hungry from an outside outreach in the community. Staff was great! Food good too!

I am currently a manager at this establishment and I will tell you we have the best food in town hands down. We have an amazing staff both in the front and in the back. We pride ourselves in giving our guest the best food, service and experience that there is to give. I would love to have any of you readers as my future guest so we can give you an amazing experience and a new/familiar place to come stay awhile.
So glad we came here the day after christmas..... it is pleasant so far and pretty quiet. The staff are super friendly. They got to us real quick like and took our order the moment we were ready so far so good. Now Im just ready to eat lol. Great job so far yall. Everytime me and my wife come here everything is always on point I dont expect any less today either. Great food great service great times.
To little chicken in the taco chicken wraps and it was not fajita meat.We did not receive our chips and salsa appetizers until our meal came.Caesar salad was not fresh.The waitress had to many tables to handle. We waited a while for her to acknowledge us.
Their food and service is outstanding. The service we had was very helpful and patient his name is Bill he give very good service. The manger Josh was ver helpful also I had an question and he came to our table to give me the answer I appreciated this outstanding customer service. We will eat there again.
Service is ok once you get to the table. But the hostess was barely present, and didnt even say anything to us. No hello, nothing at all.The food is mediocre and not worth the price charged (at this location... the one in Tyler was ok last time I went there). The portions are smaller than you are led to believe and it just doesnt live up to expectations set by the menu.The prices are far too high for what you get at this location. I spent 40 bucks on what barely seemed to deserve 20.The one good thing I can say is that our server was pretty good. She was engaging attentive, and reasonably prompt. If I could recall her name, Id give kudos for being the only thing worth walking into the building for.Applebees..... get a clue. This location is not driving a view of your brand that you would approve of.
Waitress was a little slow getting our orders, drink refills and appetizers, but overall the food was great.

This is one of the very few places to hang out with friends late at night. They are open late and they have half price appetizers after 10 which makes it affordable. Because there are limited places to dine late at night, they are usually busy so there could be a wait for a table. The staff has always been friendly and the food is typical Applebees.
We sat at the bar Chama the bartender would not even acknowledg our presence. Once I was able to lock her down to get menus she handed those to me and walked off. It was at least another 5 minutes before she took our beer order and then we sat there another 5 minutes and she waited on other people, she did dishes, so we got up and left. We sat at that bar at least 15 minutes Total on before we walked up
Wenlpt last night. Horrible service! Food DEFINITELY DID NOT look or as it was described on the menu. food was served, drinks came 10 minutes after.Restroom need a good cleaning. The biggest mistake I saw the waitress served a minor alcohol. She used her sisters id. The young lady bragged about it. Bad experience and I carried my Aunt and Uncle. Come on Apple you use to be a good choice. Bye bye Applebees???
If anyone hasnt been here you should come! Perfect service, very polite. Didnt have to wait to long for our food. Refills without having to ask. Awesome!

Had the two for $20 meal and ordered the bourbon chicken. So delicious! And our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and all the sauces they offered. Would definitely recommend
Really enjoy coming to this Applebee’s! The staff are always super friendly, while providing great customer service in a timely manor! ( If you’re not familiar with their menu, I highly recommend the fiesta lime chicken dish! It is fantastic!!)

No service at all. We walked in 4.30 today Sept 14 and bar girl sitted us in a boothWith menus. Never did Anyone took an order. One guy working our isle helping 4 booths across from us. 2 other services pass us by. They were Not busy.
Ordered steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Went with 2 friends who had been there 3 weeks earlier. This was in Athens Texas. I found hair in mashed potatoes and 1 on my steak. I had just gotten out of hospital in medical coma when I was put on high protein diet. Steak is part of that. Was so looking forward to it. Did not get to eat any of it. Very Very disappointed.
Look, I love Applebees, and the service was great. But the food poisoning I got from eating here was... not so great.
Food was decent but it was too cold in the restaurant to sit and enjoy. Take a coat.

I’ve come here many times, and I always have great service! The hostess opens the door for us every time we come in. Waitress/waiter is always attentive and very nice. The food is delicious and filling.
Food was great, but service was very poor. Once we had finished our meal it took notes than twenty minutes for our waitress to show up with the check , then another 10 for her to bring back our change.

Sorry to say this Applebee has personnel and facility issues.The chain has a good reputation.There does not seem to be an urgency to service the customers. Lots of wasted time of the wait staff due to excessive visiting. While the order may have been taken at the table for whatever reason there seems to be a delay in getting the orders into the system due to the stopping and socializing at numerous tables before orders are entered.One hopes the saying that if the bathrooms are dirty then the kitchen will be filthy is not true. The excessive smell of urine in the mens room indicates only surface cleaning has been performed.For store I think I shall vote with my feet.... bye bye..
I’m an assistant coach at South Plains College and I called and asked if we could bring my team in because we were here for a tournament. It was a great choice! highly recommended place to come eat.
This place has gone way down staff argue with were they seat you left. Wasnt going back decided to give it another try should have stuck to my gunsWent back got sat to than no waiter or waitress to busy folding silverware to wait on tables after 20 left again
They had the most delicious food and good waite staff. Reasonably priced puts my wanting to return for a perfectly done steak!
Food is good but restaurant needs a cleaning. The big round booth had huge holes in the seating and trash all in the crevices. The pay and play devices on the tables were sticky and gross.
Manager Nick and Chelsea were very professional and outgoing personalities. We need more people like them in Athens Texas. Great job Applebees love the food and the environment

Food was really fresh and the waitress was sweet and funny. She also had great suggestions when we had a question about subbing out an ingredient. Drinks (Long Island and Irish Peach Sour) had actual alcohol in them (rare these days in a restaurant bc they skimp)! Dessert was the Apple Chimi. Came out hot and crispy with a huge serving of ice cream :-}
Lori is such an awesome waitress and bartender, she always knows what to get me and refers great food and drinks. Come to applebees and ask for her! She’s the best.
Asked if I could substitute onion rings for fries and the server said yes, then charged an additional 2.00. Drinks are almost $3.00 each. Onion rings were COLD when I got them. They need to change their cooking oil. For 3 entrees, an appetizer, a dessert, and tip it was $84. What a joke. Never again

Three times in a row my family really have been there and it is really sad to say this about this restaurant especially the one in my hometown of Canton Texas USA the worker and the manager were very good awesome if to say of course they had to give us a discount on our food for the fact we were not satisfied that is very much in need of improving the restroom was clean Im watching far tell on the mens not sure about not sure about the womens because well frankly Im not allowed to go in there and I forgot to ask the ladies that were in my party what there experience in the restroom was like the alcoholic beverages were made to week although we understand restaurant quality-wise you cant make them too strong but even for that standard I believe they were not strong enough none of our plates were cooked properly they were either overcooked or undercuts or frankly cold and on one of the plates they forgot to mention a side and on the other day totally forgot to side and then chicken and pasta meal I had the chicken was overcooked to where it was too hard but then got cold quickly as we all experienced that on everyone with me and on the all you can eat shrimp 3 or 6 but seems not quite like a lot but that you should probably get well 8 or 10 per plate however I do like the idea of all-you-can-eat returning plates of shrimp for a limited time that is something you should continue to do its kind of nice to know that Red Lobster is not the only place doing that a more affordable place is however you are very much in need of improving both in Tyler and Canton Texas might I recommend taking some advice from the Terrell Texas location January 2019. From mr. Josh and family and companies!

I was seated and told the server would be right with us. After 15 minutes had passed and 2 people that arrived after us had there order taken. We decided to leave. It was not busy at all everyone was just standing around.UPDATE: I went back after 6 months and the service was OK food was not very GOOD
Very slow service. 45 min to get food and waitress came to the table twice. Once for drinks and once to bring food. Never made it back after food delivery. Luckily you can pay the bill at the table.
Very good service!! The food was not hot but pretty good. The main thing I had a problem with is that the table was so dirty that my arm stuck to it. When I ask the waitress she said the table was “stained”.😝

It was such a nice and exciting experience coming here! Their Frozen Lemonade is honestly a favorite, totally recommend. And their 2 for $20 deal is such a steal.
I have been to many Applebees and Athens is by far the best. The food is always consistently awesome. The reasturant is family atmosphere and clean. The staff is amazing and is knowledgeable about their menu. My favorites are the oriental chicken salad and the chicken cavatappi...they are both delicious.
We each had the 3 course meal and have enough food left over for supper. The spinach/artichoke dip is the full appetizer order! Choices on appetizer, a salad, and your meal I had the shrimp stirfry and my daughter had the whiskey bacon burger with honey barbecue boneless wings as her appetizer. Tons of food for less than $30.
Our waitress Tania was awesome she kept our drinks full and the endless wing non stop. Friendly and the managers even came by to check on us! Great service!!
Steak overcooked, and apparently they were OUT of baked potatoes, we were told this 10 mins after ordering while STILL waiting on our appetizer but yet there are 2 stores within walking distance that sell potatoes. I went 4 years without eating here for things like this and I am a 16 year resident of Athens. My wife and I decided to give it another chance but unfortunately it will the last one!! Needs serious improvement! Oh and by the way, we were offered no compensation for not being able to eat what we ordered!

All you can eat riblet/tenders offer was good. Fries we good and hot and crispy. Didnt know you could get both on the refill, thought you had to choose, but NO, have them both.

I will never do carside to go here ever again! It was impossible for the woman to get my order right! It took every bit of 30 minutes. The food was cold and picked up in time! The veggies and potatoes were not done very crunchy. The kids mac n cheese is kraft brand and honestly i can cook it better with eyes closed! My boys wouldnt eat it. They said it tasted like a box! They are 3 & 4 yrs old! I have given them chance after chance to be completely let down!

Borboun chicken was VERY DRY & SUPER SALTY....Tastes like it was cooked this morning and then sat in a warming drawer ALL DAY... I Ordered my bourbon steak medium RARE & IT Came out Medium...My wife Ordered a vodka and after 20 minutes I asked the waitress about it and she said she didnt know anything except that the bartender had not poured it yet...so I went and asked her myself and she rudely said that she was busy... But they were not that busy...Im so done with this establishment... I wont dare call that place a restaurant...its not ...its a TOTAL DUMP...I FEEL ROBBED.. This Applebees in Athens, Texas has to be one of the best Applebees Ive been in. The service was outstanding. Our meal was hot, and exactly as we had ordered. The waiter was right on top of things all the way through our visit. Hats off to the Athens Applebees restaurant.
The food was really good the service was pretty good but not great. Cleanliness and Lighting and staff were all as they should be.
The table was dirty we had to ask for everything. The waitress didnt bring silverware or anything we had to ask and for some reason the green beans tasted rubbery and old. That was my first visit and my last .
We have eaten at Applebees at least every Thursday and Friday noon for at least 15years now. The food is superb... and always has been.

2022-07-07Stopped by for a quick meal to take home. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. By the time I got home, my meal was still hot (15 minutes drive) and each bite was delicious from start to finish! Only reason I’m not giving them a 5 star review is because they forgot my silverware! Hahah!

2022-02-22Bad experience for the start. Should have known how this dine in was going to be...When we first arrive we had to wait like 5 minutes to be seated. Now that wouldnt sound be IF the place had been busy. No staff at the door to seat you but there were 5 staff members standing at the back talking.Once we were seated it took a good 8 minutes to get a server for our drinks. Now the server was nice enough but always seemed in a hurry to get away from the table. By the time the server showed up we had our order ready, so we ordered drinks and food at the same time.Took FOREVER for the food. Then they forgot mine...I had to wait another 5 minutes for the server to come back to our table to ask for my food then it looked as if they rushed the order and didnt even cook the shrimp. The potatoes were HOT at least.The price was outrageous!!

2022-03-15The wait staff and bartenders are superb. Food is awsome. Seems as though the manager cant do his or her job. I come in hear 3 -4 days a week and cant seem to get a captain Morgan for the last two days. I drink about 3 doubles a night when I come in. We come hear for the convenience but we can go somewhere else.

Had to keep asking about our food items.Better get it together with all the new restaurants coming in.

2022-05-14We had appetizers for dinner but they were good. Our favorite, and we had a second order of them, were the quesodillas. I also had a few of the $1 margaritas. They were ok, but, I guess since they were only $1, they didnt put much alcohol in them so they had a very strong taste of margarita mix and that was about it. Even if its a special, they can charge a few more bucks for them and put some alcohol in there.

2021-06-14So when i walked in this is the first thing we seen. We than had to wait as bar staffed yelled through the restaurant for wait staff. The food was ok i got the bourbon steak and french onion soup. But as we eat the wait staff starting yelling at people in the bar. For a quiet little town this place was a disaster. The staff was unprofessional even the manger when being asked about a wait time when they had open seating and were not skipping booths for spacing. One group was told there was no seating available when the had 3 open booths and tables in the bar. The food is the reason for the 2 stars
