Amazing, always, Steve is amazing and helpful. Best place ever. Thousands and thousands of dollars spent here for my company and our clients. >>I will add however, since the pandemic, a couple of the young ladies at the front desk are unusually rude to me and my clients, and that needs to improve. We bought a few dozen trees, and 8 of the redbuds when planted, we found, had basically no root ball. They did not make it. My client had paid directly. She was upset, so I called. A girl answered the phone and said, yep, no warranty. Anything else? - really short and point of fact for $1000. I said, can you at least let your supplier know? Nope, we paid for them and you paid us, so not really, and then hung up. That was a very poor way to speak to a client. I called back and covered this with another young lady, who was about 10% nicer and said they really didnt have time for customer complaints and to shop somewhere else. So I will. We opened accounts at 3 other greenhouses. Such a shame, we rent a box truck to buy from here and transport as far away as far North of Dallas like McKinney and Fairview, and want to support our local Fort Worth establishments since we are FTW based for 21 years. Management needs to train their kiddos at the desk better, thats for sure. Steve and the other adults there, the loaders, the horticulturists, all amazing. Two teeny boppers at the front can ruin the entire experience for a client, let it be noted.
Yesterday, I felt that this place was so aesthetically pleasing that as soon as I walked in, I could smell the Autumn’s sun flourishing through my nose with the radiant smell of the plants. The staff was so congenial and benevolent. The moment I walked through the doors, I was immediately asked if I could be helped. Through their garden and onto the other side of the street sat the most exquisite Willow tree I have ever seen in my life. I drove 45 minutes away to get this as a Christmas gift for my wife. No other place had it and they stayed open until I arrived. As I was trying to get the tree into my car, the owner came out and lended a hand even though he had a Christmas party to tend to. Thank you Archie’s Gardenland and Merry Christmas and many blessings!
Jamie was a friendly and kind woman who answered my phone call initially - she was professional and had a upbeat attitude. She was also at the counter when I arrived and then helped me check out. I was impressed with how much her customer service helped me have a better day. Also I was met by other friendly helpful and beautiful smiling faces, and of course healthy beautiful garden plants. I will be returning to archies, though my wallet wont be happy I know I will be happy to return. An employee named Steve was also very helpful - I would have thought he was manager with how he held himself ! And he answered my gardening questions so well and he helped me carry my plants to the car. 100 percent great place great employees
I absolutely love this place! They always have a great selection and their prices are nice for the quantity of plants you get. Very fair pricing on common landscaping plants, veggies and herbs. They also have plants you may not be as familiar with, friendly and knowledgable personnel, and a changing selection of decor and planters that can help you finish your landscaping or household plant needs. It is even fun to just wander up and down the rows of plants under the trees and dream.
I thought I knew good nurseries, but this place is next level. Everyone was knowledgeable and if they didnt have the answer they found someone who did. The place is like a giant garden, neatly organized, clean, and fragrant. Archies is a GREAT nursery. This place is going to be my new go-to when I really need a plant.
Archies always has a great selection of beautiful plants. Its always fun to go and look around- it feels like I could go down the same row a few times and still find new things. The employees are all very helpful and knowledgeable. I cant stress enough that the people who work there are fantastic.Archies is by far our favorite place to get plants.
One of our favorite places in town. Beautiful plants, herbs, flowers. Nice selection of both plants and pottery. Employees are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Going here is a treat for my young daughters. Has such a calm, relaxing atmosphere. I also love their custom soil blend. I wont go anywhere else for plants or flowers.
Archie’s doesn’t even need my 5 stars because they’re already killing it.Such a cute place, so many options and everything you need for gardening/plant care. Best greenhouse ever, and a huge pottery room.I go here to escape! You can take your furry friends too.And the staff is like family.I once inherited large plants that I couldn’t care for, and I called them and miss Sarah adopted them!Such a wonderland, I tell all my friends about it! Love y’all!
I was just in Archie’s and was going to purchase a macrame plant holder. I couldn’t find a price so the lady checking me out said, “I think it is 49.95.” She walked into a back room and came right back and said, “Yeah, it is 49.95.” The price sounded very high in comparison to the others for sale and the other 2 I previously bought there. When I told the lady the price didn’t seem correct she said, “Do you want to wait?” I looked closely at the holder again and found the price which was 29.95. A lady standing behind me said…”Wow, that’s not even close!” The lady checking me out didn’t even apologize for almost charging me double! I say all this to say…as the consumer-be careful and don’t trust a price if it doesn’t seem right!
Ive gone to Archies since I was a child with my father. To this day, nothing brings me more joy than to take a trip to Archies, if only to see their amazing greenhouse! Their plants are always healthy, and Ive never brought any pests home with me. Great staff and great plants, indoor and outdoor. They never disappoint!
This place is beautiful 😍!!! The first time I visited was with a friend. The second visit was solo. My latest and third visit was with my daughter. She was in awe at how beautifully the store, its setup, and gardens were arranged. 😊 Every visit has been nothing short of pleasant. The staff is totally kind and extremely helpful!!!
They have some awesome plants here. Excellent variety of stuff. Plus people are super friendly and helpful.Virginia was wonderful to work with. She is very knowledgeable about all different varieties of plants, even with my very specific wants and needs. She was also super accommodating and spent the better part of an hour helping me select some plants and also making sure I grabbed the healthier ones.
Wow.Amazing place.Plants for both indoor and outdoor, with annuals and perennials galore. Very wide selection of ornamental, food producing and ground cover plants varietals.Displays cover at least a city block.Very knowledgeable and proactively helpful staff and lots of them everywhere. Also other support materials for plants such as mulch, pottery, fertilizer, pest and disease controls, seeds, bulbs, clothing and garden ornaments with much more.I do not think any plant lover can visit without getting something.
After leaving stuarts nursery in weatherford buying nothing, because apparently they had nothing i needed. I had read reviews about Archies gardenland. So off I went. I had a young girl wait on me, and I did not get her name. She got a cart and took me station to station to every thing I had on my list. It was a fun and wonderful experience, she was so helpful, and was thrilled to help me. She kept calling me mam which I told her it made me feel old! Lol. It was a delightful experience, prices were great, and I will definitely be back!
What a great place. Tons of selection, helpful no pressure service, and even a kids play area. Could I go somewhere else and pay a little less? Sure. But this is a family owned slice of Fort Worth, and they’ve always supported the community and had great events. Moreover, my plants from here are always healthy and not root bound, and the service is second to none. Always my first choice.
At Archies gardenland you find the best service of any Greenhouse in the Metroplex. the prices are moderate and their service is the best. They have people that would write your ticket for the merchandise , cashiers to check you out and people that will load your merchandise in the car. you are in and out in no time.
Disappointing. Didnt have the hydrangea I was looking for and though l plenty of workers were around they were not much help. They have a system which they have been doing quite some time for checkout but I didnt feel it was efficient. I easily found the hydrangea I needed, by the way, at another garden center
We purchased 3 trees from Archies and one of them did not survive the Winter. We hoped that maybe it would be back in the Spring so we waited. Come Spring it did not bud. We called Archies and even though it had been just over 1 year they came out and took the dead tree and planted us a new one. Wonderful customer service and they definitely stand behind their trees. Thank you Archies!!!
Fabulous customer service, expert employee knowledge about plants, excellent selection, amazing quality plants. I cant give enough praise to how impressed I am with Archies. I have been going here for a year and a half now and whenever I have a question, the employees are always thoroughly knowledgeable on the subject Im asking about and can give me recommendations. And to speak to their customer service, I actually purchased a Japanese Yew tree that had a problem with it, unknown to me at the time of purchase. Its nature, it happens! No big deal. I went back to Archies a few months later after its slow demise and I explained my situation and they replaced my tree, no charge. I am so grateful for their understanding and customer service. I will always recommend Archies over any other nursery! Theyre also dog friendly :)
Weve shopped at Archies Gardenland for many years. They have high quality plants and gardening supplies for reasonable prices. But their best product is quality gardening advice. They know the local area gardening requirements and have for at least 3 generations. This is a slow time of year for North Texas gardening, so I was just there today for onion starts and seed potatoes.
We took a soil sample in to have analyzed because my grass was not doing well. We talked to Rico, and he said he could have the results and just “a little bit”. A week later I’ll call and ask Rico about the results and he told me that he could not analyze the soil himself and he did not have all of the information that he needed to process the order to send the soil to Texas A and M university. He never called to ask for that information or tell us that he could not analyze the soil. I could have taken the stool samples to Texas A&M University myself but according to him he could do it faster. My grass is slowly dying and I want to get it fixed but due to his delay I will have probably lost this yard-I told him that I was pretty dissatisfied and all he said was he would pass that information on. I am done with Archies! And urge others to be careful about doing any services other than buying a flower
The amount of knowledge that the employees have is leaps and bounds better than any other garden center we have ever been to. The plants that they have on display are always bigger and better looking than the other places that sell plants. Talk to Tim if you go. He has been a huge help to us.
I am on their mailing list and got a note that it is time for pre emergent weed killer as well as other notifications. They have what I need at a very reasonable price! They also had advice on what to do with some young trees that are not where I want them.Great place for all things gardening!
A guy at Home Depot couldnt answer my questions and sent me here and Ive been back several times because these people know their stuff. Even if they dont have something, they know enough to send you in the right direction. Beautiful selection of plants and super friendly helpful staff.
Archies has been the go to place for gardening, gardening knowledge, and plant selection for years and years. Today they still hold the same standards that made them the go to garden center decades ago. Their lawn fertilizer is the bar that other fertilizers cant come close to. Yes, yo might pay just a little bit more but it is so worth it.
Ive never met such in caring and rude people!! My girlfriend had flat tires on her car and didnt know what to do so she pulled into Archies. Not only did they call a tow truck but they also called the police!! Didnt even say anything to her orn ask her if she was going to move it. People if you tow someones vehicle they could lose everything because it costs a lot to get it out. In this instance she had everything she owned in it! I think they should be ashamed of themselves .
Without going into too much detail, I will say that I know Archies has a great reputation for their customer service and knowledge of their products. My comments are not to disparage Archies Gardenland. Additionally, I am not one to write reviews--never have written one.2 years ago my husband bought a fig tree from Archies for me for Mothers day. Because he was so impressed with the person he spoke with while there, I went to get another one last spring.Unfortunately, I did not have a positive take on my visit. In the 45 minutes I was looking around inside and out, not one employee spoke to me, not even a hi, nor a smile. I attempted eye contact and smiling. The lady at the front counter looked up when I walked in the store but never said anything. To be fair, she was saying good-bye to a customer. I looked around in the store for a few minutes. She still never spoke. Business was not booming in there so really, that wouldnt be the excuse. I could go into a bit more detail, but no one wants to read play-by-play as I wondered around. Eventually, I will make my way back with the hopes that the particular employees I crossed at the time have had lessons in congeniality.
Archies is beautiful and has a long-established reputation in Fort Worth, but Ive had 2 out of 3 expensive trees that I purchased from them struggle mightily, despite planting and caring for them with knowledge and care. On the most recent one ($180 Cherry Laurel) I discovered (too late) that the trunk of one of the trees had a major lesion on it, which likely was the cause for its demise. I suspect it was damaged when they transported it from their supplier. I wish Archies were more careful to not sell damaged trees. Ive had better luck with plants and trees that I purchased from Stegalls, Calloways, and the FW Botanical Garden. Also, Calloways will refund your money if the plant dies. As much as I like Archies, I will not return because of these shortcomings.--------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW UP POSTWithin two hours of posting my review here, Randall Archie responded with genuine concern, so I gave him a call. I am happy to report that he (and his colleague, Tim) made it right, replacing the cherry laurel that died and helping me finish the landscaping project I had started in the spring. Friends and neighbors (some who are arborists, others master gardeners, and still others just common green thumbs like me) had told me that my experience with Archies was an anomaly, now I see that they were right. I am very pleased that things turned out right, Archies is the kind of local business Im eager to support. Ill be back.
The plants and accessories are beautiful. However, I asked for help and they paged. No one came. I tried to flag employees down, no one came. Tried to pull cart up incline myself and could not do as I have spinal stenosis. When I list hold of cart 2 male employees laughed. My husband calked the mgr. He said sorry. Thats it. Wont be shopping at Archies again.

2022-06-13This is a very cute plant store! They have everything from indoor houseplants, outdoor plants, and other things like soil and decor. Most of the prices were reasonable and it wasn’t terribly expensive except for a few hoyas, like mathilde. There was 1 strand and it was like $45, which is crazy because at other stores near this one had full pots for the same price. The plants seem to be well taken care of and I didn’t notice any pests like fungus gnats on the plants which is a good sign. I bought an asparagus fern for $8, which was exciting because I’ve been wanting one for a long time, some flowers, and purple potato vines that I can’t seem to find anywhere else. My mom also bought several plants. So far everything we bought is doing really well. I will be back because even just looking around at everything was also fun!

2022-03-17What a gorgeous store, i really just went in to find a few things and to get out of the house and get me and my baby some fresh air, but it was totally beautiful 😍 and right around the corner from my house. I will definitely be a returning customer. The employees were super friendly and the selection of plants was vast and all in great shape!

2021-12-11Even during the off season in December, and that darn supply-chain challenge...Archie had plenty of inventory...inside and out! We came shopping for some Holly bushes and some ground-cover, and left with two plants and a flat! Everything looked so healthy, especially for this time of year. Decent price points on all that we looked at, and we loved strolling the grounds, enjoying all their unique and well thought out decor and displays. Again... inside and out! Nice Holiday decor and accents playfully displayed throughout the place. Our 4th time here, and we seem to always walk out with a wagon full of goodies!

2022-06-17I love Archies! They have so many beautiful plants. I bought a healthy multi trunk raspberry pink crepe myrtle tree and I am so pleased. The young woman who helped me was knowledgeable and professional and the young man who helped load was also helpful and pleasant.

2022-04-05I love this place. The staff is super friendly, and has a massive selection! I have found the pricing to be a bit high at times, but if you compare it to Calloways its super affordable! I also really liked their selection of outdoor common landscaping plants. Worth the visit!

2022-02-28Good quality plants with a staff who knows their stuff and are kind as well. People like Steve who are loyal to the company and also care authentically about customers are hard to come by these days. Great family-owned company.

2022-03-23Love Archies - great selection of fun pots and plants. Employees are super sweet and helpful too. Locally owned, not a big chain, so they know what will do well in the area too.
