So much to choose from, good prices and knowledgable staff.
Your classic art store. I always find some great deals here, especially in the clearance and canvas sections. I also always find at least 1 art supply that I didnt know existed but I cant live without it. Definitely highly recommended.
Its the typically great Asel experience. Everything is kept well stocked and the employees are relaxed and helpful. I can’t imagine being tense in a small art supply store. They also have plenty of discounts and sales. The location is easy to find and usually has plenty of parking. This is my primary art store for a reason.

Always pick Asel over Hobby Lobby or Michaels if youre looking for traditional art supplies. Asel has a wider, higher selection and generally offers lower prices. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will even run around the store fetching and bagging items on a long supply list for you. Theyre also somewhat familiar with nearby colleges - one told me that a particular item on my supply list hadnt been sold in over a decade, but that my professor had never removed it and students had looked for it in vain ever since. On top of all that, they have a small (5 or 10%) student discount, a slightly larger teacher discount, and occasional killer sales.
If you are a painter or a sketch artist, this place is the bomb. If you are not, this place leaves a lot to be desired. They do not carry any powdered resins, the floor associate said they could order, but the cashier looked at me like i was crazy. Worth checking out before just buying online.
Asel is a great art store for the professional or aspiring artist looking for better quality products than what can be found at Michaels. That being said it is a little more niche in its selection focusing predominantly on quality painting supplies. I personally feel that that some of the their prices are a little steep but, that might not be a negative to someone else.
My favorite store in Richardson. These people know their stuff and price things fairly. Way better than Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
I like how I wanted an assortment of colors and in this rainy day the 3 man crew(2 women &1 man) all helped get me to an affordable set! I really like saving and appreciated the staff for that!
To all the people leaving bad reviews because of the bad customer service and hostile employees; learn how to actually have a conversation with a person instead of expecting them to worship you when you walk in the door.The K-ON! stop poster is also 10/10
Although it is a relatively small store, they have a good selection of great art supplies, with even some hard to find stuff, but they are pretty expensive - I assume its because they know they have lots of stuff that you cant find in a typical art store.

This is my go to art store now. The myths of overpriced and understocked are NOT accurate. They price matched a larger purchase from an online retailer , very knowledgeable staff , friendly to boot. 👍👍🤘

This store is waaaaayyyyyyy over priced and they will not price match even when someone has it cheaper. HELL the actual maker of the products they sale are cheaper than this place.. Do your homework and shop around you will see they are way over priced
They have so much of what I am looking for most of the time and while their selection is huge, it can be very pricey but the quality has never disappointed.
Always great service and always willing to help. They even help explain how things work and have a great knowledge on their products. Love coming here.
Thank goodness for Azle they are still the best art supplies from everything from scrapbooking to Fine Art with knowledgeable employees who dont sleep at the register who actually interact with the customer

2019-12-12CORRECTION: The Prismacolor Verithins that I purchased were not shattered. The cores were not centered to a significant degree. This is no fault of Asel.Excited to find open stock Prismacolor Verythins. Great place to go if you use only specific colors, as I do. Unfortunately, of the three ultramarine verithins I purchased yesterday, two had shattered leads inside the pencils. I realize you cant control when customers drop pencils, but it is still disappointing since I drove from Denton. Ill still be back. Maybe next time Ill have better luck

2020-11-17I Went in for the first time and was pleased to find they have a very large assortment of professional grade supplies. The associates Josh and Claire were both very welcoming and helpful. 2020-08-27We have been so excited to visit this store but havent been able to because of COVID. My sister is an artist so we do our best to provide her with what she needs. We definitely will stick with Amazon vs this store. I will recommend working on customer service, at least the clerk we got was just rude and annoyed and didnt offer any help or in information for a refill for copic pens. Our clerk was Lauryn. I do not recommend, big let down with service.

2019-12-28Really cool and knowledgeable staff! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped by a staff member who was an artist herself. She was able to give me firsthand experience about the products which I had no clue about since Im really fresh to the art world.

2020-11-20I prefer this Asel location over the downtown Dallas store based on employee interaction. Both stores have a good selection of products, but I feel more comfortable at the Richardson location. The store is larger and the people are helpful without being arrogant.
