Wow! This is the most amazing place to find everything from practical, every day crafting supplies to completely unique and off-the-wall items, like vacuum tube amps. Lots of treasures! I picked up Prismacolor pencils, dipping pen nibs, craft paper mailing tubes, and an old overhead projector. All VERY reasonably priced! Very nice staff!!!
Huge selection of random craft items. There are gently used craft tools and leftover craft supplies. There is even a room were you can pay just $5 for everything you can fit in a 5 gallon bucket. Its a great place to get the random little things like bottle caps, corks, boxes that you might otherwise have to spend years saving for a project. Its also a great place to donate all the little weird things you have been saving for a project you decided not to do. Excellent non-profit resource for all things crafty.
I absolutely love this place! The new location is even better. I love going and finding art supplies I’ve never had the money to experiment because art supplies can a major investment. The volunteers are super helpful and friendly. My kiddo feels like he’s going to a special place because they can pick out “treasures” and I can afford to say “sure”! This place inspires us to be imaginative and thoughtful.
Yall. I love this place. I just bought 10 great quality frames for basically $10. Ive purchased tiles to make into plant stands for next to nothing. Everytime I come here I find a new treasure. Theres always something new. The prices are outrageously good. Im glad I dont live closer, because I would be here all the time. The only downside is it can be challenging at times to make a reservation for a donation, because you have to reserve a drop off time weeks in advance. But thats a small annoyance compared to the amazing service ACR offers.
Ive been buying from this center for years. Back when they use to be in another location. I always find more than what I need. I love the variety. As a person who los art and sewing. This place is amazing. Will continue to come shop. I love how everything is sectioned out too. Great job!!!!
I have been going to this place since it was in its old location near ACC. I absolutely adore this art thrift store its the best out of all the ones Ive been to. You Can Not Beat The Prices. This is where you go if you want to try something new or pick up supplies for a project. They have everything you can possibly think of and more I would recommend this for literally every occasion. Need a birthday/christmas/holiday present? This is the place. Date idea? This is the place. Want to volunteer or donate art supplies? This Is The Place!
This place is amazing! im only visiting in austin but just had to stop by and now im wishing there could be something like this in every major city. the unbeatably low prices make art and crafting easily accessible to the community- i love that if theres any new hobby you wanna try without investing a ton of money, this place will probably have everything you need to start! the volunteer staff is also very pleasant and informative- my boyfriend had a great conversation with an older gentleman working in the camera and film section. they have supplies for everything from fiber arts to photography to screen printing to scrapbooking. theres truly something here for everyone!!
Do not make the mistake I did and take your 6 yr old with you after school when really you just want to relax and have a good time. This is what she picked out, I didnt find anything. Not for lack of selection again just my poor choice to bring my kid with me. This is one of my favorite stores in Austin and you should definitely check it out. Be sure to wear a mask! I
My home away from home! Its worth going back often - you never know what youll find! I tend to go for yarn and fabric. Their $5 bucket section is great though I think my husband would get frustrated if I filled one every time... Teacher events, school supply collection and community involvement make ACR truly shine.
A super fun and great place for the creative inside you. They have everything from random parts of old cameras to high end fine tip pens. You can get a lot for less than $10 and have tons of fun searching through their various bins of craft supplies. :) I go almost weekly. ;)
This is an artist/hobbyist/crafters dream store... Its basically an art thrift shoppe. They have everything you can imagine and then some, and at a price that you certainly wont find anywhere else on the planet. Last but not least they hold seminars and classes that are both informative and a great place to meet like minded individuals! 10/10!

2022-03-03I love this place! Everything you may think of for any art or crafting project, Austin Creative Reuse Center most likely has it and at a great cost. I enjoy collage art so I go through a lot of magazines. Magazines are 20 for $1 or $0.10 each, however the National Geographic magazines are $0.25 each. My partner found a portfolio in pretty fair condition for their artwork for just $5. We also picked up a handful of emboss powder for less than $10. Also the staff is very friendly, super knowledgeable, and so helpful! Donations are accepted too.

2022-01-31I took a brief trip to Austin. When I travel I often look for craft stores that arent the big box corporate stores. I stumbled upon this and what a gem. I love the concept and the staff was friendly. I could have spent hours and way more money there, but only got a few small things bc I was flying & traveling lightly. I wish they had these type of spots in every city! :)

2022-04-06This place is so neat, definitely a must go place if you’re in need of something you’re not completely sure a store will have for a project you’re working on. It’s got so much different and random, yet organize things. And they have a creative workshop for kids in the back too.

2022-06-15Went to donate 2 dozen int/ext paint samples, left over tile samples, etc. They, (like everyone else) is short staffed, but the young woman was pleasant and helpful. They were very grateful for the donation. I will definitely keep donating my Interior Design left overs to them!

2022-06-30Love this place! If youre a crafter, fiber crafter, sewer, really any kind of creative, this is the place for you. I wish I had something like it where I live. The prices are 50 to 75% off retail and you never know what you might find.

2018-02-17This place is so cool - with new donations coming in all the time and a really generous definition of what counts as a creative item you never know what sort of interesting things youll find here. Fabric, thread, beads, drawing pencils, little decorative birds, odd glass bottles, storage containers.... You never know what will spark inspiration or what great deal youll find.
