Inland Truck Parts and Service in other cities:
My 387 Peterbilt had catasrophic damage to the clutch and gearbox on October 16, 2015. I had it towed to Rush Truck Centers in Fort Worth. After a couple of frustrating phone calls to Rush Truck Center and a quote that would make me go bankrupt, I had the truck towed to Fort Woth Gear & Axle.FWG&A do not work on weekends First thing Monday morning they had it torn apart, diagnosed and quoted.I had an EGR &DPF delete done to this truck & the ECM turned up to North of 650 hp, so theres in my opinion half the reason why the input shaft broke off. That, & the 771k miles on the clock. But after explaining this they upgraded the box to heavy duty gears, so it could deal better with the higher torque. Something Peterbilt would not do for me.As with anything Fort Worth Gear & Axle installed a standard clutch, which, right out of the saddle did not perform as expected. FWG&A adjusted the clutch again, and the next time the tuck pulled in, later thet week, they yanked the standard clutch ad replaced it with a Lipe clutch.Labor at $90.00 per hour and the complete rebuild installation, new bell housing, upgrade to gears & Lipe clutch, it came to $7 500.00.Fort Worth Grea & Axle cant be beaten for value for money, efficiency, knowing what the heck they are doing (knowledgeable) and integrity. They get full marks for communication (good job on that, David)Before you try Peterbilt, or any other dealership for drivetrain issues, give this mob a call and see what they say. I can recommend them any day of the week & twice on Sunday.
Looked up my local Dana Spicer dealers. Called my local friends in the area. They said go here. Called them up and said I need an axle shaft for a Dana 60 from a one ton dodge. Lady tells me we dont deal anything under a ton... gues Im calling my Michigan Dana dealer.

2019-07-23Took ring n pinion to them to have it rebuilt. Only problem I had is I was told it would be done on Wednesday and then was told the guy building my ring and pinion went to lunch and didn’t come back (family energy so I was told). I have not had a problems with the build.

2020-01-23Took my 2 piece driveshaft from my 2012 GMC 3500 to get fixed. They completely redesigned it. Had it ready in under a week. Quality customer service. Definitely recommend this place.

2019-08-05Took front prop shaft to these guys off my truck after putting in a (4l80e) larger transmission. Needed the shaft shortened and high speed balanced. Got it back, installed and had crazy vibrations. Took it out, clocked it 180° and still had the vibrations. Took it out again, and went to a driveshaft shop right by me in hurst for a balance. The guy informed me that there were ZERO balancing weights on the thing, and it appeared the previous shop (these guys) never balanced it. I needed the truck back on the road, so I paid that guy to balance it and after reinstalling it, no more vibrations.

2019-02-10Great job fixing the driveshaft of my F250. Also very nice people. They straightened, balanced, installed new u-joints and a new yoke then painted my driveshaft for less than $300. Great people.

2016-07-27Had front and rear rings and pinions replaced to compensate for lift and huge tires. Gary was very helpful, gave great service, had it done in timely manner, and even shaved off some cost for being a firefighter. Great guy. Great company. Ill be referring anyone with drivetrain issues to these guys. Thanks! BTW, my truck runs soooo much better now.-Justin

2017-12-05Terrible customer service. I spoke with John Cave in August about having a 12 bolt rebuilt with near gears. He was rude and short, but I figured whatever since the place had such good reviews. It took nearly two weeks to get my rear end back, simply because John forgot to call. I picked up the rear end, installed it, and the truck sat for a few months until I could get it road ready. I finally got the truck on the road in early December. I drove it from Saginaw to Bryant Irvin road and the truck sound like ball bearing were in the stall converter. I had it towed to a local shop and they determined the rear end was shot. I call Ft. Worth Gear and Axle and spoke with John. I described the sound and the first thing out of his mouth was, Did you put oil in it? Every time someone calls talking about a funny noise, its because they didnt put oil in it. Clearly, John had had to deal with this issue many times. He claimed there was a tag on the rear end stating to put oil in it and what kind, but anyone can claim anything. There was no tag. I was simply given a receipt by the lady in the office and that was all. The closest thing to a tag on the rear end was the metal placard they placed with their logo and contact info.
