This hospital is trash. My daughter pulled her g button out and I have extra ones and I called up there to see can someone put it back in, I’m steady getting transferred and then a lady said they don’t do that and I’m confused. Galveston utmb said if she ever pull it out just go to my local hospital. It’s like nurses down here are not educated on Gtubes.
Asked to go to bathroom before procedure and nurse over call bell told bathroom was down the hall across from the nurse’s desk. Now ; I’m laying on a stretcher with rails up and to make a point I call back to tell her not to worry I found a way off stretcher . I had scooted to the foot of the stretcher. And with 2 fail risk arm bands ; I made it to and from the bathroom with no offer of help .
Second time I went, BELOW POOR SERVICE both times. Same problem both times, zero times they cared enough to help me. Triage nurse was very rude. They didn’t do a single thing to help.Furthermore, I’ll add that some of the workers are involved in organized crime. That’s why this place isn’t good. They won’t heal you if they are told not to. Vidor gang history goes wayyyy back. The more you know. You can’t have a good hospital if you have horrible, evil humans working there.I’m finding another doctor and I’m suing when the results say what I told them the first two times when I went. That’s MALPRACTICE. This is life or death and I’m not playing with anyone over my life. And I’m not paying thousand dollar bills for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me. Period. This is an emergency room. Yet somehow your “capabilities” are well below sub par.I’m reporting this hospital. You are about to be exposed for precisely what you are.How hard is it to run an anti fungal drip in a person? Well apparently they don’t even have the CAPABILITIES to test for fungal infections. Yeah, I highly doubt that….Y’all’s gang members are killing people every day like this and y’all just sit back and let it happen.Same thing is happening to gators and other animals here. Put two and two together.I’m not like y’all and I’m not scared of y’all. The truth WILL be known. Mark my words.
My grandma fell two days ago and broke her hip. she was supposed to get surgery for it yesterday morning but now got switched to today still havent had it and when we called to ask about it they hung up on us. ive always went to this hospital and they have been good but this has ruined for this place.
My nurse was very kind but the doctor who spent a whole 2 minutes with me in 5 hours was extremely rude, and did not explain anything to me that was going on even when I asked questions. My nurse had to explain, he gave me a follow up with an OB to find out the place is actually permanently closed in Beaumont??
If the ER personnel were any slower, the waiting line would turn to dust! The rest of the hospital is a-okay, but the ER people move like zombies, showing NO concern as to the fact that they are slower than Methuselah! They should all be replaced with people that care.😡😡😡😡😡
Worst experience in my life I was in the worst pain since child birth and the kept me in the waiting room in a hard plastic chair for 7 hours. When I was finally brought back into a tiny room more like a hallway with a curtain, the doctor came in if he was even a doctor he didnt introduce himself to me just told me that he was discharging me with a script for ibuprofen.... I had 2 pulled muscles one in my shoulder and one in my chest. I was shocked. No pain medication no care. No compassion. I couldnt breath I could barely move and he was ready to let me walk on out of there and drive myself home. I have no family here. So no relief was given no care was given and this hospital should be ashamed at how they treat there patients. I was just another number another problem to get out of the way. Im have to go to another hospital to get help and I sure hope I can get some help from another doctor in this area. Im just saddened by this lack of empathy.
My wife Holly recently had an appendectomy at Beaumont Baptist. We were in room 4408 from Tuesday thru Thursday afternoon. The fourth floor nurses and aides were extremely proficient and polite. Her surgeon, Dr. Mackan was awesome. I cant thank Baptist enough for their professionalism and caring attentiveness.
Lady at the ER check in desk is the most pretentious, stuck up, snotty, and downright unpleasant person I have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to meet. If you want to be made to feel like an idiot, or be treated like a garbage can, do not hesitate to take a trip to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Less worried about catching Corona, more worried about the amount of brain cells that die just by talking to the incompetent staff. Bedside manner do not exist here.
So I became positive for Covid and since I’m having abdominal pains and no appetite…the doctor recommended me to go in home still in pain. A RN said my paperwork will be filled by doctor to start infusion Monday. Well, no paperwork filled out Monday, no update on X-rays just got my insurance money but did not help me… I’m suffering and this been worst experience ever. Now I need to go back to hospital for update of labs when I can barely walk now. I think I should went somewhere else and regret I came here … the doctor never talk to me at all only a RN but she wasn’t the MD
This place is disgusting. All they care about is money. I would NOT even take a dying python there. This hospital, and I use that term loosely to describe it, needs to be investigated by the Texas Hospital authorities, HHS, Social Security, Texas Insurance Review board of Austin, and the Texas Medical Board.IF you/loved one(s) go here, you will receive poor care, especially if you work for a living and are elderly or infirm. This hospital (butcher house) Euthanizes their mistakes and their lawyer buddies cover for them.It should also be investigated by the Feds as well.
Mom went there through ambulance cause she had an episode with her blood pressure and diabetes. Apparently the nurses were rude to her, they ignored her when she pressed the help button to go to the bathroom, TWICE. After the second time my mom left, didnt try and help her catch a ride at all, she didnt bring her wallet or phone cause she arrived on ambulance, and she cant walk that far cause of her ankle surgery she had, not to mention in the middle of the night as a women in Beaumont walking alone. Oh did I forget to mention negligence of equipment. They left at least 3 vials of my moms blood next to the sink for more than 3-4 hours, they probably separated by the time they noticed it was there. Worst hospital to go to, never bring anyone here
I’ve never had a problem with Baptist in the past, so when my son broke his arm, we went to the emergency room at Baptist. It is in network with my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and I’ve never had a problem with anything not being covered. Well apparently our ER doctor (Dr. Osman) was out of network and is charging us $5,000 for the 15 minutes he spent fixing my son’s arm. This is after insurance already paid part of what he was billing. This should be illegal. Never going there again!
Recently had a 10 day “visit”. Seems the are very short handed on the nursing staff and aides. 75% of the nurses were awesome and some I would get rid of immediately. I hand a saline syringe left in an IV, a urinal knocked off the bed and kicked across the floor and left, I changed my own sheets, had every light in the room turned on at 2 am just to see if I was doing okay 😡, etc. Good luck getting the cafeteria to answer the phone or call you back. Getting released was a 30 hour ordeal. Overall, the good was very good but the bad was really bad. I don’t think I’d go back unless absolutely necessary.
Been here since this morning and got in room pretty quick but they slow at coming to tell what is wrong left my daughter in pain finally gave medicine had to give more because what they gave didnt work second medicine worked only down fall is Im having to sit on the dirty floor no chair to sit in they wont give me one I even asked for one I have back and bottom issue come on baptist do better
I had a heart attack and stent years ago. So last week I went in for chest pain. The ER staff and doctors were 5 Star outstanding. The issues started on the 4th fl. I arrived at 8:30 am. I was seen immediately. They made sure I was comfortable, fed and had water. Nurses were very kind. I was moved to my room, on 4th floor after 8pm. I asked the nurse for something to eat... she told me they may have a sandwich for me. I had to order food from the outside. I asked for water... it never came I found a pitcher and used bathroom water. In the morning My iv in my arm hurt and was bleeding quite a bit. It was alarming. Pushed button. No one answered. So I went to nurses station and asked if I was getting breakfast and the iv was painful and bleeding a little. At nurses station they (at least 6 people) started raised their voices.... where’s your mask? Where’s you mask? They shouted me back to my room. Resident doc finally came to speak to me. He was able to answer my questions. Overall it was a terrifying lonely experience.
Had an MRI over two weeks ago. Still waiting on Baptist to send results to my doctor. I’m in pain! Why can’t they do this? I specifically asked them if they were going to send it. They said yes. Now I have to take time out of my work day to try to figure out who to call to get them to do something they are supposed to do automatically. Where is your work ethic? Why don’t you care about your patients? I will never use your facility again!
Your screeners need a lesson in compassion for icu families visiting their family member dying. The young girl at the table at the front entrance acts like a guard dog and tells you what will happen. No professionalism. No compassion. I feel like we are harassed every time. Get someone older who has more compassion and understanding. My mother is dying and you have people who make you feel like how dare you come visit. Administration needs to be aware of staff members like her. I have been in the medical field for many years and I would of fired her on the spot for being so unprofessional.
Had my wife in for elective surgery. Everything was awesome, even bought staff donuts, kolaches, and breakfast croissants. Then it went downhill. Surgeon says we are released, didnt see anybody for over 2 hours!! Go to nurses station, nurse says we are waiting of the paperwork. For over 2hours.
Definitely some of the worst experiences with emergency rooms I have had with the Baptist ER.The most recent one was yesterday I have been havibg chest pain and tightness / trouble breathing I couldnt eat or drink for a few days. After three hours of nothing I decided to leave, on my way out I saw that most of my blood work (they were supposedly waiting for ) was still sitting on the counter. I only saw the nurse twice he poked his head it making sure that I am still breathing. They completely ignored my pain and the fact that I was probably severe dehydrated (since I couldnt drink for over a day ) they didnt give me fluids or did any tests besides and x ray when I first got in and an ekg. I do understand that if my vitals are not super alarming they are not in a big hurry but when someone goes to the ER with the symptoms I had I am expecting more empathy I was scared to death and hurting real bad.... nobody talked to me nobody said anything not even when I was crying as he poked his head in the second time and I told him I just wanna go home. He said okay had the paperwork done in 2 minutes and let me go!As a side note the ER was absolutely not busy!If I wont feel any better today I will most likely go to st. Elizabeth, I will definitely never set a food into Baptizt hospital again!
In this post I have posted a copy of the report I have submitted to the Texas medical board. The administration of this hospital are probably unaware of these practices considering the majority of the things on there 21 point long list about how your doctor should treat you were ignored. I will be going in person to file a specific grievance at the hospital and request the names of all those who treated my loved one.I am not a doctor so I do not know if this constitutes the things I believe it constitutes. The nurse in question I am unaware of her name, because as far as i could see she was not wearing a name tag. The level of disrespect portrayed by this nurse and the complete lack of support from other faculty leads me to believe that the board needs to look into this whole hospital. Every request made by me or the patient named in this complaint was ignored. The patient was admitted for first time seizure and temporary amnesia following seizure. It took us three hours to be seen at all. The issues started when on a mixed gender ward with male security guards, patients and people my simple request to keep the curtain adequately closed was considered inflammatory enough to constitute threatening me with removal by security. The patient in question had her cleavages exposed while receiving a EKG, because the curtain was not adequately closed Patients posses the right for a reasonable accommodation for privacy and a simple request for privacy is not adequate grounds for removal of a patients companion. From this point on care dropped dramatically, & request made by me for the nurse to come into the curtained off area simply to come in and check the patient were denied. Not only were they denied, but I was threatened with removal simply for opening the curtain, not leaving the roped off area I was in and simply asking for a blanket. I had made 4 request for a blanket and received nothing but threats of eviction from the hospital ( over 1-1.5 hours) until we told the medical staff that we simply wanted to leave. We were told that the physicians assistant would come to check on her.Denial of a patients advocate. I read in very clear terms in the literature provided by the hospital in question stated that every patient deserved the right to a patients advocate. After repeated request for a patients advocate, a new nurse, hospital administration, or the doctor in charge of the ward. None of my request were accommodated. The nurse finally called security on me to escort me from the hospital. This is the second and only time that I was able to see the nurses physician to discuss a potentially life threatening ailment. I told her my complaints and she seemed to be completely unaware that we were having any problems. At that point we were completely done with this hospital and left. I will be filling a grievance against the specific hospital as well, but we were just one set of patients and she oversees several a day. This hospital deals with the most vulnerable people possible mentally ill patients. If she was treating a person who had adequate insurance, a good job, and legal recourse. Imagine how she is treating those who have no one. The nurse-practioner actually was very helpful giving us alternative sources of potassium, because her blood work pointed towards a potassium deficiency.
Had the pleasure of being treated rudely by the staff at Baptist Hospital 11/14/20. A family member was brought to the ER by ambulance and arrived at 4:40 PM. It was 3 hours before a family member was allowed to be with them. Then 3 hours later we were still waiting in the ER waiting room! When we asked the receptionist in the ER if they could check on them the female would not even speak to me unless I could change my facemask, hence I still didnt get any help. Called the hospital supervisor on duty whom didnt even bother to contact us. We watched everyone in the ER waiting room come and then leave with still no word on our loved one. Truly despicable!
After 2 negative COVID tests in early January, my dad was brought to the ER due to difficulty breathing, fever and nausea on 1/15/21. He was referred to a liver Specalist that could not see him for 10 days.On 1/21/21 he was brought back to the ER due to the same symptoms significantly worsening. He spent 9 days dying in this hospital where every nurse and doctor on the 4th floor refused to tell his wife the truth of his condition. His primary doctor would not look his wife in the eyes or answer questions directly. On his 9th day in the hospital the doctor finally admitted he could not do anything and was moved to the 3rd floor in ICU. The ICU staff was phenomenal, treated my dad with the upmost care and someone was finally honest. He died the day after he was moved to the ICU, this should not have come as a surprise to his entire family. For 9 days doctors and nursing on the 4th floor refused to tell the truth of his condition and robbed his family of saying goodbye. The doctors at this hospital did the same thing to my grandfather 9 years prior. The day after he was discharged and sent home with medication (not sent home on hospice) he died.DO NOT bring your loved ones here for any reason. Bite the bullet and take the trip to Houston, you will thank yourself later.
My mother had an outpatient surgery but ended up staying there over night and she said she had the worst service ever. The Nurses had an attitude, we’re not wearing their masks, on there phones, my mother was not even feed or taken care probably. She has not received a mask when they wheel her out she had to use a rag they told her. This hospital is insane and should be sued for what they do to patients. They are probably trying to kill these patients who knows.
Everyone experience is different, but let me brag about the NICU staff. I went in labor and gave birth to my twins at 33weeks. Being that they weren’t fully developed they had to stay in the NICU for some time. I had Preeclampsia and that prevented me from seeing my babies for 3 days. After crying for those days (from being separated from humans that I’d been inseparable from for 8 months) I made it to the NICU and they were expecting me. I was welcomed with open arms and understanding. Every single Nurse in there deserve so much more than I could give them. Especially Nurse Amy and Kathy!!! My son stayed for 2 1/2 weeks and my daughter stayed for 1 month. I visited twice a days for 2 hours at a time. Each time being welcomed with the same compassion. As I write this in tears I can truly say that I love those Nurses!! I thank God for them and the care they give the babies and families. I could never repay them for keeping me sane. The special made name tags, special pictures, extra time, camera over the crib that I could view at home and all of the genuineness is so appreciated. I know this is lengthy but trust me I could say more. Thank you all again so much!!!! We’re forever grateful! Hopefully The Christmas Reunion would allow us to see one another again. XOXO
This place made me feel like I was in purgatory waiting to be sent to hell, I have never felt so judged in my life. When I first met my surgeon, he felt like he absolutely just had to make comments about my tattoos and piercings. He told me “you’ll stop all that when you get a boyfriend who doesn’t like that” to which I replied “a man’s opinion is nothing to me,” he didn’t like that too much. My anesthesiologist acted disgusted with me when I was honest with him about smoking marijuana regularly. It’s like.... I’m here to give this place thousands of dollars for a 30 minute surgery, not to be chastised by old entitled white men. Very weird experience, but the last nurses were awesome. Staff shouldn’t need to be told to stay out of patients’ personal business.
My wife chose this facility to have her gallbladder surgery done. Shes has had very intense gallbladder attacks for months and has been trying very hard to work with the staff here. She recently tested positive or Covid 19 before her surgery, and her surgery was rescheduled. We were told to wait three weeks and re test. She was instructed to have two more test done at Beaumont Emergency Care. Both test came back negative. She then was instructed to go back to Baptist to have a swab test done. The swab came back with positive results. She was then told that there was nothing they could do, and that they have canceled her surgery all together because her surgery is not considered an Emergency surgery. My wife then had asked an employee on the phone if it was a common occurrence that a patient argue about having false positives at their facility. She then confirmed that this was not the first time this has happened. My wife is still in pain and is getting worse everyday. She has missed alot of work, and so have I due to her being in pain. We even had to pull an $1800 loan just to have the surgery done. We have never been treated this way by this facility. My wife has delivered both of our children here with no complications from the staff. I do not understand why the employees themselves know of these false positive tests, and nothing is being done about it because my wifes surgery isnt considered an emergency. She has even asked if she could take another swab test at another facility, and if negative, use those results for the hospitals benefit. She was told no, and that nothing else could be done.
Our granddaughter was born at Baptist on Tuesday, 6-15-21, prematurely at 33 weeks. Upon delivery, the neonatologist, Dr. Billingsly (sp?) immediately recognized that she had a very serious skin condition and needed quick transport to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston for specialty care that could not be provided in Southeast Texas. They stabilized her, bandaged her wounds, and TCH came and picked her up. After getting to TCH and quickly being assessed, the neonatologist present at the time in the nicu told us that Baptist had done such a great job of caring for her and stabilizing her that they didn’t really need to do anything to her that night. She would be stable and observed until the specialist teams could begin rounding on her in the morning. They were even able to remove her cpap as she was breathing well on her own. My family appreciates the care that my daughter-in-law and granddaughter received while at Baptist Hospital. No one had any idea bout my granddaughter’s skin condition until she was born, so it was a shock and surprise to all, but the quick management and stabilization she received while in their care was so very thorough. I can’t thank them enough. Just know that even if you’re thrown a curve ball at your child’s birth, the healthcare professionals at Baptist can get them tended to and safely transported to appropriate, further care if needed.
My family member was there with covid in January left in the er with no water , a place to use the test room , nurse call button was tied behind bed where it could not be reached or seen after 6 hrs my son and i had to call the er desk because we where getting phone calls saying she was thirsty and had to go to the bathroom , she had double pneumonia btw so i was on the phone with her when the nurse came in and said here is some ice chips sorry we have ppl dying( true and they do wait until your about dead to pay attention) next morning sorry we ran out of fooddo to restriction we where unable to do much . after two days of that she got moved up and received better care oh and food , water and a place to potty almost as good as puppy day care
Rude nurses and administration staff. My grandmother was there with covid and not even a understand person staff or nurse i feel like communication is everything when my grandmother is older. Rude went through the chain of command no help and also rude. They will hear from my upper power soon.
As far as the nurses and doctors in the ER go, it is 5 stars. Where the lower rating comes from is the blonde security lady in the ER. After being in the back with my husband for about three hours I needed my charger from my car, after I went to retrieve it, the blonde security lady asked me who I was coming to see. I told her I was coming back in to be with my husband, she asked the last name, I told her. She couldnt find it. Its one of those french names that doesnt sound like its spelled. You know what I mean since we are 30 minutes from Louisiana. She sighed and corrected me on the pronunciation of my own last name. I was like, whatever because this isnt the first time. Went back to be with my husband for about another three hours. At about three AM they admitted him and I went to get his charger from the car since he was staying. When I came back in before she let me back in, she rudely said to me You cant keep coming back in and out like I was a child. I looked her right in the face and said I literally went out to get my husbands charger before I leave. I had only been outside twice in six hours.... I told one of the nurses what happened and she said that lady gets so many complaints constantly. I understand you are a security guard but if you cant work with the public, maybe you will be better off guarding storage containers during the graveyard shift because that is what your personality calls for.
Absolutely horrible care by so called Doctor Win and every nurse in the ER. Our baby has 4 heart defects and needed to be stable before transporting to Texas Childrens. The doctor and nurses completely ignored my daughters screams and left my wife and I in a room where we constantly had to reattach monitors that were poorly put on while trying to keep her calm and her oxygen levels where they needed to be. When we asked for help and if there is anything they could do they brushed us off time after time and this so called doctor had the nerve to raise his voice when we were just concerned about our 10 week old baby. This was a scary experience and there is no way I would ever let someone I care about be treated by these people. I should not fear for my daughters proper care in an ER. It is unacceptable and I will take this further.
The wait times are ridiculous. Sat in the ER for 5 hours just to get results of tests done 3 hours prior. The entire time Im waiting for care my attending doc is sitting at the ER desk telling stories to the nurses about his adventures when he was a young nurse. Im so happy he finds it more important to flirt with nurses than to provide care for his patients. Every time we come to this emergency room its an extremely long wait for nothing.
My daughter (1 years old) was very sick at daycare and was sent to the Children’s ER at Baptist Hospital. They got us back to a room very quickly, were quick to get tests started, checked on her often, and went above and beyond in the Children’s ER to make sure she was comfortable and well taken care of! She ended up needing to be admitted overnight, so they brought her to their locked down pediatric floor. I had just gotten off of work, and the nurses were so kind to me! I had forgotten so many things that she needed to feel comfortable, and they went out of their way to make sure she had her favorite bottles, favorite type of blanket, and they even brought her her favorite toys to try and help her feel better! She refused to eat, so the nurses also went out of their way to find her her favorite foods that would follow the special diet she was on while she was there. They treated us BOTH like FAMILY. I hope we don’t have another hospital visit anytime soon, but if we do we will be going to Baptist!! Thank you to everyone in the Children’s ER and Pediatric Floor! We appreciate your kind hearts more than words can express!
My elderly father had to have some test on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, every employee we had contact with treated us with such kindness and respect! The atmosphere was pleasant and every area was sparkling clean. I will definitely go back if the need ever arises. Thank you all for the professional care and courtesy we received!
NuJune 28 i experience my first outside va clinic help. I was giving a pain and muscle shot. True it helped. When i acquired about xray i was told (its probably! A strained muscle). I returned with another neck problem july 6. Not much was done.this was along my left neck first one on the right.because i have narrowing of the spine. I guest they assumed that was my problem. My story is why go to a hospital if they dont help the veteran. Refered me back to veteran hospipat...beaumont sucked
Just had a baby here. The staff is all pretty nice, but they didn’t have it together. I had to give birth no epidural because they failed to send down blood work cuz they were so busy. There food is disgusting so due to covid you will be starved because you can’t leave the hospital. The hospital beds are so uncomfortable. I can’t wait to leave!! I definitely wouldn’t wanna have another baby here tho if I had the choice.
The worst hospital to go to I’ve been here for 4 hours and still haven’t been seen. People that came after has been to the back and at home already weather a person has insurance or not ! EVERYONE SHOULD BE SEEN AND TREATED EQUALLY ANS FAIRLY ! This is not right ! You could be dying or already and still won’t call you back if you don’t have insurance they don’t care or understand how bad you feel whether its critical or not !
The hospital lines are too line and unorganized people just cutting in front of you. The security guards do nothing but seat at the desk and doesn’t help the lines flow smoothly. Last they checking people in one at a time. The we waited 2 hours to see a doctor who wouldn’t even do anything to help.
The good, the staff is knowledgeable and Ive counted on them many times for loved ones in emergency situations. The ugly, requiring your staff to get the Covid-19 vaccination is ridiculous and goes against everything a free country is supposed to stand for. Your corporations policies are an infringement on their rights to choose whats best for them based on their own opinions and religious beliefs. Call it whatever you want, I wont be using you in the future for the care of anyone I care about because the only people you will have left are people who complied in order to take care of THEIR families and for those people Im truly sorry. Holding them by their throats with termination of employment if they dont comply is the worst sort of bullying.
I really enjoyed my experience today here! Cynthia and Brandy were so helpful and Cynthia definitely eased my mind. I am a first time mom and my husband and I have no experience with labor symptoms. I thought I was in labor and though I am having contractions and progressing, Im not quite in active labor YET. Cynthia made sure that I didnt feel dumb for coming in and reassured me that its always better to be safe than sorry. I was monitored for about two hours and released to go home. I very much look forward to coming back here whenever I ACTUALLY go into labor and dearly hope that Cynthia is there to help us again! Also, I hope that I havent butchered her name! She was so amazing!
I have been with them for almost 3 months and I get along good with the hospital staff and they are very happy about the work I do all the time and make it the best place to get help from and then Ill be home in a little while after I have finished the job for the day
Absolutely the worst service if I could go less than one star I 120% would. Just left after waiting for 2 and a half hours and the lady at check in pulled my boyfriend to the side when he brought up me possibly miscarrying to which her response was that there was nothing they could do about me having a miscarriage and that there were more serious patients that needed to be taken care of. I will be calling higher ups ASAP. Completely unprofessional and everyone involved does NOT need to be working in a hospital.
The NICU doctor. Dr. Doshi has been infuriatingly unprofessional towards us. We feel completely helpless to have any part or say in our baby’s life. The way he has treated the nurses he works with is completely unacceptable. He yelled at a nurse so thoroughly for doing something we requested without his permission that she returned crying saying that if we wouldn’t accept her apology she would be fired. This man has responded to questions of ours with “sorry I can’t read you the chapter on this subject” and “this child is in my care I’ll do whatever I want” because we told him our midwife and family practice doctor (both licensed) disagreed with his treatment.Turns out Houston NICU doctors and Nurses confirmed that a lot of what we were told was not true from Dr. Doshi. I’m still shocked by the differences in the 2 hospitals.Nurses at the NICU were not bad at all that’s why I would give 2 stars instead of 1.Think long and hard before going to this hospital. I’ve only ever heard terrible things and now experienced it myself. Nothing like paying tens of thousands of dollars to be treated like trash.I’d like to clarify for all of you that have experienced long waits at the ER that it could be do to the fact that we were greeted by 20-30 employees when we came by ambulance. There were so many people it was bizarre. This is not our first time to a NICU or Emergency room. By far the strangest and worst care we have ever received. Go somewhere else if possible.
First of all let me start off by saying the family I am marrying into has members who were working here and some who work here frequently. I have little to no complaints about their experiences. My first hand experience of this hospital has came in different forms. I have been very lucky as to have gotten to know the staff here in some places of the hospital they are friendly and respectful and love seeing our daughter when we visit. I also had an accidental stab wound by a knife and thankfully the on call ER Doctor did his best to stitch me up with little pain though I have a low tolerance for pain. The ER staff is kind and caring and quick to get you on your way after doing their job correctly. I went in for a follow-up to get my stitches out and the same Doctor who stitched me up came in with a friendly smile and kindly got to work and when I complained that I was having some concerns about the healing process he addressed them quickly and clearly. My only complaint is that the bandages seemed to be not so well put together but were sufficient enough for me to get home for them to be changed. I only have one other complaint as to once I was in the room I felt a little closed in. I have to give points to the nursing staff for making me smile when I was feeling nervous.
I went into the emergency department today for Anaphylaxis. I walked up to the security guard and handed him a paper and tried to explain without words that I was having a severe allergic reaction. A nurse walked out, took my temp and put a pulse ox on me...then tried to leave me in waiting room. I left immediately and went to Saint E...the doctor came immediately looked in my mouth and took care of me. 🖤 Needless to say I will never go back...not even in a true emergency.
The labor and delivery ward, and the postpartum ward are absolutely amazing! Every single person I had the pleasure of meeting was super sweet and helpful. Everyone was extremely accommodating and helpful with a super sweet and awesome attitude. I loved every single one of my nurses. I wouldnt want to deliver anywhere else.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! This poor lady has called me 5 times today trying to get in contact with her family! I’ve been hung up on by the operator and supervisor! I wish the first time she called I would’ve asked for her families number! They do not care about their patients obviously and by other reviews as well! Worst customer service from the start!!!!
Brought my mother here for chest pains. They admitted her and Jill grounds performed an arteriorgram through her wrist and punctured her artery. A vascular surgeon came in to fix that bleed. She proceeded with the arteriorgram through her groin, and in her own words “got in a rush” pulled out the sheeth after placing a stent and didn’t realize she punctured her AGAIN!! They took her back to icu and every nurse that tended to my poor mom was rude and inconsiderate. She developed hypotension and all they did for her was hang blood. They didn’t check to make sure they didn’t puncture her again. They let my poor momma bleed out internally all night long just to rush her into surgery the next morning to finally find the bleed they caused. LIED to me the entire time and never told me the severity of her injuries. They promised me and ASSURED me she would be okay. She was still in hypotension following her 3rd surgery and her organs started to fail. They induced her in a coma and my mother NEVER woke up again. This hospital and staff and staff they allow to practice in their hospital SHOULD NOT be taking care of your families. If you care anything about your family DO NOT take your family here!! They should not be in business and they should not be able to hold others lives in their hands!!
Will never come back here. The care my mother received was horrible. Nurses dont do their job and have attitudes! We are still here and now she has huge blisters on her hip because they left surgical tape on her since Friday. They never kept ice pack on as ordered, wedge under her leg, didnt turn on the leg pump machine, didnt tell us to do breathing exercises. Anytime we asked a question, they didnt know the answer and didnt offer to find out. Tried to readjust my mom in the bed and the nurse refused to help because I wouldnt let her put her on her side (she has bad shoulders). Dealt with her rude behaviour for 30 minutes and I went and grabbed another nurse. Today my mom started throwing up and choking/gasping for air. Ran to nurses station for help and ran back to my mom. After I got her under control, we pushed the button. It took a total of 20 minutes for nurse to come. The only exception was our nurse named Jason which we only had for a few hours and the ER nurse Stephen who was amazing. Those 2 gentleman are the only reason I gave 2 stars. Also one nurses aide was very sweet and helpful.Have tried to get with Patient advocate since Friday, wont return calls and never in office. This hospital was amazing when we were here a year ago with my mom. Dont know what happened
My daughter sat in your ER over 6hrs and nothing. They was busy when she got there and then they where not busy and still no doctor and then they got busy later on. She finally left after over 6hrs and didnt get seen so whos fault is it if something happens to her tonight Baptist? Dont go to Baptist ER ever if you expect to be seen.
This hospital is dangerous. The conditions in this hospital are so bad that centers for Medicare and Medicaid suspended this hospital emergently because of a multitude of violations that extended throughout the hospital. Unsafe nurse to patient ratios, improper care and cleaning of surgical instruments, etc. Unsanitary conditions that could affect patient care and outcomes were documented throughout the hospital in the report. In fact one administrator even admitted conditions in the kitchen were so bad that a patient could die from consuming the food. I worked here and was appalled at what I saw. I wouldn’t take my worst enemies dog to receive care here
I deleted my previous review because it was posted before I had first hand knowledge of your hospital. I have spent the last 4 days at the hospital with my daughter. What I witnessed was some of the most caring doctors and nurses I have ever known. My daughter had no insurance. She has applied for but does not yet have Medicaid. She has stage 4 ovarian cancer and was admitted to the hospital because of a huge cancerous tumor on her leg. They knew the leg had to be amputated and were trying to fined a hospital to take her with no insurance. They were not able to do that ,so they took care of this surgery there at Baptist Hospital. The head nurse, Judy Collier and the other nurses on her floor were her advocates the entire time to help make this surgery happen. Dr Nash and Dr Thompson were in charge of her care for her Cancer and her Amputation. I have not been treated any better on my own hospital stays, then what my daughter had received at this hospital. My daughter had the amputation and is on the road to healing. They will help with her cancer treatment after her leg heals and she has her Medicaid in place. All I can do is say thank you to the Hospital, the doctors and the nurses. God bless you for caring for my daughter. Even without insurance these people went all out to help her. Thank God for you all.
If I could give NO stars, I would! My oldest son is brought in to ER on Monday(5/6/2019) evening, blood work, cat scan shows ruptured appendix. After several requests for updates, Tuesday afternoon, a visit from Dr. Murphy followed by Dr. Morales (surgeon) to explain that no surgery will happen, but my son will remain in hospital for several days treated with antibiotics. Wednesday afternoon, nurses report that equipment needed to drain abscess is broken with no equipment repairs until Friday and possibility of his stay for another week. WTF!I cannot believe this hospital will not make efforts to keep patient informed NOR attempts to resolve THEIR problem on broken equipment. Meanwhile, my son is uncomfortable, on pain killers (opioid, highly addicting) and antibiotics while they figure out other ways to bill the insurance company. My son is the bread winner in his household of 6 and the lag that this hospital is putting forth, could cost my son and his family financial hardship, their home, disconnection of utilities, non payment to debtors. SMDH.
The doctor here (they will know who I am talking about when they look up my chart) is the one who sets the horrible culture in the emergency room at this hospital. The nurses are horrible also, but they follow his lead with their astonishing disrespect for the patients. He didnt even examine the leg I told him was in horrible pain and said it came from my back. He checked the other leg, but it wasnt even hurting. After leaving the hospital with him and the nurse laughing at my pain. Yes, they actually laughed at me and he made comments like,I bet my back is worse than yours. And she would make comments like,Your tense. I assume she was saying I am in pain because I am tense, but I became tense because of the pain. I had not slept more than 2 to 3 hours at a time for weeks because of the pain. I left there and went home and went through the same thing of only 2 to 3 hours of sleep before waking up due to the pain even with the pain medicine he prescribed me. I ended up calling someone in the field I know personally and he listened to the symptoms and recommended taking Ibuprofen (thats what I had on hand) along with the pain medicine he gave me. It finally subdued the pain to where I got a good bit of sleep. I am surprised the doctor didnt prescribe an anti-inflammatory. Maybe he should have spent more time listening to his patient and less time trying to have a good time with the nurse.
My name is Quintaysha Young and I am 35 weeks pregnant and 19 years old, this is my first pregnancy. Im filing a complaint on Baptists Labor and Delivery department because FIRST of all they said they didnt have a room, so I patiently waited in the lobby for ABOUT AN HOUR. DURING THAT HOUR the pain got worse so I laid on the floor in the most comfortable way I could to try to ease the pain. Only 3 nurses asked about me and I still didnt get til the back til an hour later. MIND YOU I said that Im in a lot of pain, the nurse did not help me off the ground or bring a wheelchair that I had asked for to help me get to the back. After another patients mom heard the nurse say that I was performing in the lobby and that since I wasnt in labor I shouldnt even be placed in a room thats when THEY FINALLY TOOK ACTION. This was bout 9-10 in the morning and I hate that I was treated this way.
Went in with a irregular heart beat I was gave baby aspirin and of course blood work and ekg. There was a few good staff members but over all I will never go back.Over heard a male nurse being very rude to patients.I wanted to get up and walk out. They never offered a cover or pillow.I was there almost 8 hrs and wasnt even offered water.I think the Emergency room needs to be reevaluated. If 0 was a option then they would get a 0. You became a nurse to care for people so if you cant do that then find another profession.
The girl at the check in desk could have care less .She kept insisting I had a co pay told her no co pay 3 times and she demanded 100.00 to pay and I still had no copay. Now Im Trying to get my 100 dollars back from Baptist because my insurance wanted to know why was I charged a copay when I had NO CO PAY!😠
I called to check on my mom that is in the ER. The roads are still very icy and she is getting a COVID test. It is not safe to head to the hospital at the moment. As I am speaking to a woman that has not told me her name, talking to me very rude, talking about how busy she is. I said why are you being so rude? She SAYS OK WE ARE BEING RUDE WHY ARE YOU CALLING THEN Then HUNG UP ON ME. How is this RIGHT? It isnt. NO MATTER WHAT IS GOING ON.
My best friend was taken to this hospital just this week by ambulance and they were refusing to admit her. She was in excruciating pain, facial lacerations that required 10 stitches in her lip, large laceration on forehead, broken shoulder, broken wrist, 76 years old, on Medicare with secondary insurance . Since she didnt need surgery they said they couldnt admit her. Finally through a social worker they were able to admitt her. Her pain was so intense it took them 2 days to get it under control. I would rate this hospital about the lowest you can go. What has happened to our hospitals? Do they not care anymore about patients or have any compassion. I have never heard of a hospital being so calous!
Ibrought my wife here because she was having complications from cov 19. We were met at door and split up immediately which after researching Gov. Abbotts directive was a violationof my civil rights as I am her legal husband and were the only family member going back to the ER with her. I am seriously considering legal action in the future against them for that.Itried to deliver a drink a lil while later to her and was then told to go find her myself yet they had no idea if she had been checked in taken back admitted. The blond at the door was rude and not very helpful. WHAT ever you do DO NOT come here for treatment. The parking lot where iam wrting this from is poorly lit there is NO WHERE you can wait on a love one safely, to patril or security in the parking area where you have to wait in your car. By far the worst facility I have ever seen run. Another post in here was right, A lawsuit waiting for a place to happen.
🚨THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER DO NOT GO HERE!! I went there this weekend and this lady gave me an IV I’m not going to say her name but it started with J. She gave me an IV and did it wrong in both of my arms I now have bruises everywhere on both of my arms. Then after that the nurse gave me fluids and I told them it was tooo strong and my face was burning but that same nurse wouldn’t get the doctor to see what was going on. The doctor didn’t even want to treat me for what I can in for!!! Next time I will be going to 24 hr emergency center and the nurse needs to get fired ASAP she was rude and messed up my arms. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
I found out last night that I’m not looking forward to delivering at this hospital in March.I went to the ER because I had been having severe stomach cramps all day today. It eventually started hurting in my back as well. I’ll be 20 weeks with Oliver on Wednesday. So we get to Baptist Hospital and I start checking in. They say, “oh, since you’re not 20 weeks yet, they won’t send you to labor and delivery.” So the registrar calls upstairs and they say to go ahead and come in up there. So I sit in the waiting room for over an hour in pain and the nurse comes out and says, “We can’t see you up here. According to our “wheel”, you’re only 19+1.”I try to explain to her that I’m 19+5 by my due date and she tells me even if I was a day shy of 20 weeks they wouldn’t see me. And even if they did, if I was in labor, they wouldn’t stop it anyway because Oliver isn’t “viable”. So they didn’t even check me to see if I was contracting or dilating.I get sent downstairs to the regular ER but I run into my husband in the hallway. I’m crying and a nurse supervisor comes out of the office and asks if I’m okay. We explain the situation and she calls upstairs again. She based my due date off my last period, which would put me over 21 weeks. We go back to labor and delivery, listen to Ollie’s heartbeat and check to see if I have a UTI. I knew Ollie was okay because he’s been EXTREMELY active today and all last night, more so than usual. The UTI was negative. And we get sent home.Anyway, the fact I was told that even if I was in labor, that he wasn’t viable and they wouldn’t stop it broke my heart. What kind of hospital would just sit back and let a baby come 20 weeks too early? It’s not like I’m 6 weeks along. Miscarrying right now would be painful and it could be stopped.Total nonsense.
If you want the best care in the Beaumont area then this is the place. They treat you like you are the only patient there, from the cleaning staff, the the nursing staff and Drs. My room was cleanned and my floor was bucfes everyday. All I had to do was push my call button and my nurse was there in minutes. They did EVERYTHING in there power to make sure I was comfortable. This is not my 1st time here and its always the same. The student nurses are great also. I would give them a 10 if I could.
My dad had a stroke yesterday and the only person who has called my mom in over 24 hours is the one who called for money. He can not make decisions for himself because he’s so confused. No nurses or DR’s are updating my mom who drove from Louisiana to be near him. We understand the Covid 19 is an issue and she can’t go in but at the very least they can at least give us some answers instead of being very rude. We have called begging for help. I hope they are taking good care of him because they sure don’t care about his family and he clearly can’t tell us what’s going on. The people who have treated my mom with such disrespect I wish you could show some compassion and hope it’s never you in our situation.
Worst experience ever!!! My Dad is there RIGHT NOW and his night nurse MAE is rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful. His IV came out 3 hours ago and nobody has been in to fix it. My advice is that if you have to go to the hospital in that area, make the drive to Houston!!!!!!!
This is by far the most haphazardly hospital Ive been to! I was in my room for 5 hours just to never be seen by the doctor! The nurse wouldnt even listen to me tell her my symptoms and medications eventhough she asked. I did recieve some lab work and an Iv that stayed in my arm long after it was ran dry so at least that I guess. I gave the hospital my medicaid info while I was there, through the phone, email, and snail mail; each method i used multiple times. Still they are sending me bills and threatening to take me to claims court. ( With medicaid you are not supposed to recieve a bill. The hospital bills the medicaid dept. And the medicaid departmend lets you know if you are not fully covered; and yes I even called them to make sure. I was told that there should be no reason I would noy be fully covered, but they have not recieved anyclaims for me.)
I had an inguinal hernia repaired at this place a year and a half ago. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hospital. The nurse was ugly to me, very unfriendly and threatening; they put these EKG harnesses all over me that were totally unnecessary--the operation had nothing to do with my heart; and they would not give adequate pain medicine, either during the stay or on my release. And when I was released, the incision did not heal properly, and I ended up having to fix it myself. If you can avoid this place, do it. Id sooner go to a New Orleans fortune teller than go here again.
Wife had to undergo an emergency C-section in the middle of the night. Hospital staff wasted no time admitting her to the floor, prepping her for surgery, checking and monitoring her vitals, and calling in a team of 3 doctors and multiple nurses/surgical assists who were there within minutes. As a first time father, an emergency situation such as this can be rather terrifying. The doctors, nurses, and hospital staff each took great care and time meeting with us, explaining the issue, and informing us what would happen before, during and after the procedure. All of them were so calm and reassuring. My fears and worries soon dissolved, and I was comforted to know that my wife and unborn child were in the best care possible as they went into surgery.I held my daughter for the first time just a few moments later. The best part was getting to see the look on my wifes face as I held up our beautiful baby girl to see her mother for the first time - priceless- The remainder of our stay there was met with the same comfort and care that we received when we initially came in. I am eternally thankful and grateful to Baptist Hospital.
Called to get paperwork for filing supplemental claims. Billing and medical records were absolutely no help. Patient advocate was out of the office for 3 days.....I was disconnected twice and then told that they had already billed the insurance?????? So not only were they not helpful- they did not know what they were talking about. If these people represent Baptist Hospital, Then I will never go back there. No wonder most people go to Houston.
Im writing this on behalf of my mother-in-law she suffers from dementia recently she had to be taken to this hospital in the process they lost her purse. Its so sad that we cant even trust personel at a hospital. Weve called everyday to check if maybe one of the nurses found it but no knows anything about it now we have to get new identification, social security card and insurance card. My final thought if you go to hospital dont take your valuables or personal belongings otherwise theyll disappear.
Can I please just have that ice pack and pain pill Ive been waiting 6 1/2 hours for? Its not even busy today. And oh my God sweet lord the staff are rude.Update. Their billing system is sickening. They do their best to hide how much you owe them and even if you pay they still purchase multiple collections accounts for you. This place is a scam. Do not go here if you have the choice.
Absolutely the most neglectful and unavailable staff I have ever met with. RN at the check-in told me, word for word, that my emotional crisis was due to having started my menstrual cycle. Im genuinely still in shock. They all but bullied me out the door.--edit--Theyre now trying to bill me for having sat in their waiting room. This hospital is absolute trash.
Doctors are absolute quacks! Fail to give my relative the mental assistance that he needs. Now hes out on the streets a danger to himself and others. This has happen more than once and every time they just send him on his way and dont even give him a psych evaluation. If you want better treatment go to St. Elizabeths. The ED really doesnt deserve a single star.
Daughter attends the local college. She went to the ER with an asthma attack and was made to wait over 3 hours before any treatment at all. At some point during that time, a staff person came and told her they were on lock down and no patients were being called back. At the 3-hour mark and still no treatment, I called the hospital and was holding for the nurse when my daughter called and said someone had just been in to see her and get her treatment started. I live in a large urban area where most ERs are extremely busy, and I have never in my life seen a situation where a patient presented with breathing difficulties and was made to wait. Totally unacceptable.
Encountered the RUDEST ER Nurse ever today dealing with my mom. Since she took the liberty of spelling her name when I asked her for assistance, I will gladly state it. Marva ROAN, she spelled it with great emphasis. Most UNPROFESSIONAL, callous bedside manner Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. My mother could not STAND or walk and she was not phased in the least. Told my sister and I she would administer a pain pill but sent my mother out in a wheelchair instead. When I asked her about the medication, her reply was go get the prescription filled. She became emboldened in the corridor amongst her peers AND 2 cops. Why you are in the Nursing profession I have no idea. Horrible service.
I went in because i was pregnant in in labor. After waiting 2 hours to make sure I was really in labor I got into a room. Everything was going fine, i was managing the pain well. Till about 7 in the morning when the new nurse came in and gave me pitocin, I told her i didnt want it, she told me that it was hospital policy and had to give it to me. after about 15 min the pain was to much to handle i told my husband to get the nurse I needed an epideral. When the anesthesiologist came in, he pocked my back like 5 times. then all of a sudden I couldnt breath. he then rushed me into trauma, by the time we got to the room i had passed out for lack of oxygen. i had an emergency c section. and didnt get to see my baby for 4 hours meaning he didnt get to breastfeed right way, so he didnt take to my boob at all. there is no nursery for your baby to go so if you dont have someone to help you get the baby after a csection your screwed and Do to hospital policy they give you pitocin after to help with bleeding. I DO NOT recommend anyone to go there that is having a baby. or want to have a natural birth.
This place does not even deserve 1 star. You tell me how my wife tests positive for Covid-19 and no body nor my self caught it?How this place even let me walk in and out like normal?WHY they never did a 2nd or 3rd test on her?You tell me why a mother who just got cut open to deliver twins had no help with anything up there?Im so disappointed my wife had to.On top of it all no matter where you go to get tested those results don’t matter. Truthfully if any place would do something shady would be them how I feel just saying. I’d rather be left for dead then be brought to Babtist, they’d probably let me die anyway if I tested or just bc they so say I tested positive for covid 19.On a good note though I do give the people in the baby department 2 thumbs up 👍🏽 👍🏽 more if I could they’re taking real good care of our baby boys.
If you want to die, this is your place to go! My child has really bad asthma and wasn’t feeling good so brought her in. Got her a band and sat in the er for 2 hours no vital check or anything so when I Got up to ask why my daughter’s vitals haven’t been taken the window was closed in my face and he walked off! The only time he even attempted to help me was when I asked to speak to the charge nurse and I was basically told that my daughters situation was not “critical enough” for her to be taken to the back. I understand that things happen and that others have a more critical things going on but jeez that was really uncalled for! I’m over this place and their bs and rude staff! Ms Jean is the only person there that shows friendly customer service.
Very rude Vallet man! I was lost and wasnt sure where to go so I stopped and asked him; I politely asked him if he new where I should go for the Family/Childrens Pediatrics center for Dr. Ramona (At Baptist). He rudely asked where I was trying to go (after I told him where) and I politely explain to him that I honestly wasnt too sure; it was my 1st time coming here and i described the directions to him that the staff gave me. He acted like he did NOT want to help me and rudely asked again and was asking about the building number. I was trying to politely explain to him, that I really dont know and he blew up and seemed really angry that I didnt know where I was going. It was my first time there, I never once got an attitude or was rude to him. He was just super RUDE and had NO reason to be, if I got a name i would say who it was (he was an older bald ish guy) definitely a bad first experience!
O stars I-repeat 0 This place is horrible. My husband had what was supposed to be a simple laparoscopic gallbladder removed. And ended up with a lacerated bile from their contracted surgeon Dr Ondanez he’s been in the hospital every week since this procedure in May this going on the 17th week seriously. And yet they treat him as if he did it to himself. These Dr.s they use have no bedside manor and now since I challenged the discharge he’s being retailiated against and forced to sit here and suffer by another contractor Dr Kansara and when you talk to anyone all they do is past the buck and state we contract out we have no control over the Dr or the surgeons like seriously they’re probably the main reason your rating is 2.4 but doesn’t seem as if Baptist cares about anything but their part of the insurance claim and payment it’s just horrible nothing about this place is sacred NOTHING Them and their contractors have made my husbands life a living hell and no on has to take responsibility Baptist continues to past the buck😡
If I could give ZERO stars I would!! My daughter was supposed to have an upper GI scope done. Her doctor sent the order (3 days late, I have words for the staff at that office), so I called that following Monday to see if they got the order from her GI doc. They did, but they were waiting on the insurance.. So I called my insuramce company and they havent received ANYTHING from Baptist!!! My daughters case was/is extremely crucial, and they dont give a flying flip. So we came to TCH and got seen IMMEDIATELY and are having tests done. I will NEVER bring my daughter to this horrible hospital EVER!!
Brought my wife to the ER, she was having stomach and chest pains. They had her wait in the waiting room for over two hours. She was in major pain and there was no one helping her. I will NEVER go to this unsanitary ER again. My family deserves better than that dump.
I have always heard that St. E was the hospital of choice around here. When I switched obgyns I discovered that he only delivered at baptist. I was somewhat skeptical because I had heard horrible things, primarily about the ER, but was still somewhat concerned. During my pregnancy I developed gestational diabetes and was referred to an endocrinologist that of course was part of baptist. Fast forward I was sent to labor and delivery for monitoring on 2 different occasions. If I had any feedback for the L&D portion of the hospital-pillows for triage. Those beds are extremely uncomfortable and not having a pillow and being super pregnant doesn’t help. However I will say that I am so pleased with this hospital and the care that we have received from beginning to end. I am now searching for a pcp that is associated with baptist. I would recommend them 100%.
My dad is a current patient in the ICU and we just found out last week he has cancer. So we want him sent to his cancer Dr at MD Anderson. Simple phone call an a transfer right? Except the Dr Iribarren as so called lung Dr is refusing to transfer my father! My dad is being held against his will, or our will mind you because my father is sedated and intubated, and cannot speak for himself! And dont bother responding to this message telling me to contact patient advocacy because we have already done that and that wont do anything!! This is by far the worst hospital ever!
Dr. Nyguen is an awful doctor with a horriffic bedside manner. My teenage son came in with chest pain, high blood pressure, and shortness of breath. He was released whole he still had chest pain. When I told the nurse this, she went and got the doctor who entered by screaming at me that his tests were normal and he isnt a specialist so my son had to go and follow up with his PCP. When I tried to ask any questions, he would respond by screaming at me that he didnt know and he needed to see his PCP. I kept saying to both him and the RN that my son was still having chest pains and she continued to usher us out. Horrible horrible place. I do not recommend going here. I would give 0 stars if it allowed me to do so.
Oh my where do I even start! The day before Christmas went in for a broken wrist. So I thought, which was confirmed by a nurse. Not a doctor a nurse. Not only do I work in the medical field, but while going to respiratory school in college, I did my clinicals at this hospital. So I know how the process works. I even did er rotations at Baptist hospital. While in Baptist hospitals horrible care, not once was I seen by a doctor to talked about if my wrist was truly broken, but the way I was told was a nurse pulled the current back just far enough that her head fit through the hole and says yep you have a hair line fracture of the radial bone, closes the current and that was the end of it. An 18 year old er tech comes in and places a short arm splint on me, half way through the process says hold on let me make sure I am doing this right walks out and the nurse that just poked her head through the current to let me kniw and my hair line fracture comes in with the er tech and says yes that is right just make sure that the wrap is not too tight because you do not want the patient to loose feeling in their hand. Now I do understand the billing process. You get 1 bill for the hospital, 1 for the doctor, and 1 for imaging depending on what you are seen for. Well it is now May of 2018 and I finally received my first bill, when my neighbor from next door walked over and handed it too me. Knowing that my street name is a weird and confirming patient insurance all day long, so you need to know correct spelling etc for billing purposes I made sure to not only say each number of my address but the correct spelling so tgere would be no problems. However, not only was the numbers wrong but the street name did not even remotely come anywhere close to what my street name is. While making tge payment today I thought about it and let the lady that took my payment know about this problem...I have been receiving harassing collection calls but could not figure out why. Well due to the incompetence of the medical staff at Baptist hospital putting my information in their system incorrectly, no bills have ever been received. Now I know for a fact that my phone number is correct due to the fact that Baptist hospital contacted me on it. So due to the staffs incompetence anf ignorance and inability to correctly take patient information down for billing purposes I am being harassed by collections and due to the fact that a bill that was never received that will reflect on my credit score. Also I can guarantee that I will receive a bill for a doctor I never spoke to or saw about my wrist. I havr never been late on paying my bills and if I cannot pay the full amount I always set up a payment plan. I do not know what Baptist hospitals problem is but you better believe that whrn I was contact for the hospital questionnaire the person asking the questions got a ear full from me and was told I EOULD NEVER RECMEND TO ANYONE TO EVER GO TO BAPTIST HOSPITAL FOR CARE AND I WOULD NEVER EVEN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT EVER RETURN TO THAT HOSPITAL AGAIN! The lack of care, communication, and the fact that a doctor that I most likely got billed for which was never receive due to the ignorance of the staff, makes me sick of the health care or should I say lack there of that I have ever experienced. I am sure that this post will not help in resolving any of my issues I have either.
Do NOT go here unless you want to die. I went to the ER 2 weeks ago with severe nausea/vomiting/abdominal pain and the nurse gave me some nausea meds. When they didnt work she said (and I quote) You must be faking and I aint tryin to put up with that crap today heres your discharge paperwork. No exam...nobody even listened to my stomach with a stethoscope. They took 1 xray and told me I had no obstructions. Baptist ER then sent me home. 3 hours later, when I lost consciousness, I was rushed into emergency surgery at St. Elizabeth for a severe intestinal obstruction and the doctor said if I had waited any longer to seek better care after Baptist sent me home then I wouldve died. I spent 11 days at St. E and received top notch medical care! Please Please Please do NOT go to Baptist Hospital!!
Having previous experience in the healthcare industry, I really don’t want to believe that the healthcare system is so seriously flawed. I am entirely discouraged by my experience today. I walked into the ER, running a severely high fever- with all the symptoms of the flu- aches, chills, fever, sore throat, congestion. I have been sick before... I know what a cold feels like. I would NOT walk into the emergency room over a common cold, I am literally dying from the FLU. I was NOT tested, simply triaged and sent on my way with a prescription for a generic antibiotic and told that I had a cold. HA! On top of that the nurse was extremely rude and yelled my name loudly twice as I walked my flu ridden body in her direction. Horrible. Discouraging.
My mother comes here because this is the hospital her doctor uses. One nurse says dont use the restroom by yourself cause we dont want u to fall so when she need to go I told her do what they asked so she called a no one ever came this happened on multiple occasions. Mostly they are pill poppers at this hospital they throw medication at everything. She been in for 4 days with high heart rate an have done nothing to test for causes just throwing meds at it nearly overdosing I realize thats why they use the I v drip to help flush all the meds. Its sad.
No wonder this hospital has such a poor rating. They sent my 70yo friend home after one night after knee replacement surgery. They didnt give her ice packs and she was in a lot of pain. And the doctor wrote a rx for 375mg aspirin! She is home and miserable. Dont go to their joint rejuvenation center. Go anywhere else! This place is a joke!
You need to keep an eye on your ER nurse. Jean “Dolly” Wolgast RN is making videos on a site called Tik Tok talking about how people being shot do not get shot for no reason and she doesn’t care if you’re in a gang or not or if you have an “old man or old lady” she just wants the details, being completely rude and disheartening. She’s making these videos while in the emergency room with her badge on. It’s the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever seen and I will know to not come to this hospital because it’s been made very clear that your staff are heartless and inconsiderate.
Nothing . my fiancee is on Dyalisis and was brought there by mistake. We go to saint elizabeth. But as I get there last night at 7pm 1/1916 I see she is vomiting in pain and is keeping her blood pressure , that is why she was in there to begin with. Instead of if medicaation like she needs they give her pills and she continues to vomit. A nurse had started a if in the arm she has treatment in and another nurse said take it out before the doc. Sees and I get in trouble, that is serious and could kill her from infection or a number of things. My fiancee had 4 different bands on u had to move to start the it and 1 had a warning not to use that arm for iv.
Worse staff I have ever met!!! From day one from day 5 the nurses were extremely rude and extremely lazy, the ladies that brought the food trays were the only decent ones that we met!!! I would not bring my worse enomy to this place, I think The Hospital Administration have alot of work to do in that place.......
Very poor service and the people have attitudes. They do not care, they do not check on you,ask you how youre doing or tell you how long itll be. I told the front office nurse that my boyfriend was gonna pass out and all she said was ok. He was serious deep pain and all she said was he can get up and lay on the couch...... my boyfriend could barely walk or get up on his own..... I will never come here again
This was the worst experience of my life and i will tell everyone to go to st. e or drive to Houston. i came in with chest and arm pains and the attending physician made sure to bring a bottle of nitro to the nursess desk but they must have given them to some one else. i could not walk from the bathroom to my bed without having chest pain . so for 2 days i begged for nitro. thank god i had the surgery and they better stay out. if they cant take care of you there is no sense in coming in my room. All they did is laugh and have a good ole time at the desk. DONT COME HERE YOU MIGHT NOT MAKE IT OUT
My wife was picked up at 4:00pm on 8-28-21. When she arrived at the hospital the ambulance driver ask 2 young black women where to put my wife. They said take her to the super dumpster area which just so happened to be where the covid patients were all being held 3-4 foot apart. Hope administration fires these women very rude and not caring
Horrible I was there for 8 hrs in the ER and will NEVER return again. I was in the room directly across from the nurses station you could you hear to nurses talking about their patients very unprofessional. I even heard my nurse talkin about me, what happened to HIPAA laws.
If i could give a 0 on the service in the er, i would in a heartbeat! My daughter has been waiting IN THE WAITING ROOM for SIX HOURS!!!!!THE ONLY person that drew blood and took a urine sample, then sent her BACK to the waiting room, was THE rudest medical personnel I have EVER encountered! This place is THE WORST!!!!S-T-I-L-L W-A-I-T-I-N-G!!! (May 28, 2019)
Dont deliver your baby here. If you almost die they will joke about it. It take the night nurses 15-20min to answer a call light. There is no well baby nursery only a NICU. This is difficult for new mothers whove had c-sections. If you have to deliver her make sure a relative can stay overnight with you. My night nurse was horrible.
I wouldnt take my goldfish to this place for help.Terrible bedside manner by doctors and nurses. Staff and security are very rude and uneducated. This hospital needs to be replaced. Please warning to anyone having a baby there. If you get a maternity nurse named Denise to help you birth your baby ask for a new one or run like hell.
If I could give this trifling hospital no stars I would .waited 3 hours to be seen and when I asked how much longer the lady at check in basically told me that me possibly bleeding out a baby was NOT Important or life threatening. I definitely plan on callingthe highest of the highest person in charge .
My Gmaw was in the hospital and i just wanted to recognize a few people who really did a good job and those who showed true compassion.Marlena and Janna both went above and beyond with not only caring for my Gmaw but with also showing true concern, compassion and helping me with comfort and understanding during a very difficult time.Stephen from the neurology department was excellent as well and very informative and also showed true compassion.Christy in physical therapy was great with Gmaw and was very helpful with trying to get her back mobile.Stacy Durio also helped with getting hospice going. I liked how upfront and honest she was. There were 2 issues we had with 2 people but other than that, she was taken care of.Unfortunately, Im sad to say Gmaw has went home to be with the Lord this morning. She will be deeply missed.
It was horrible dr told me anything to send me on my way but kept me there for 6 hours on top of that dr told me my child was constipated which I already knew and gave a suppositorie and listed the diagnosis on paperwork with constipation and upper respiratory infection but never once mentioned upper respiratory infection to me neither did the nurse.I will not recommend this hospital to any family members. Dr fast talked me when I had additional questions and concerns and never told me/gave me a cause why my child Was breathing the way she was ,I had to drive to Houston childrens hospital to get a second opinion and a better full understanding of what was going on with my child.I dont think this facility deserves A dime for the hospital bill!
Went in with blood sugar over 500 today! Ive been out of Metformin for days. Im fightin with Meritain/Aetna to try to get em to honor their obligations to me after 20 years of payin my dues. Im disabled and have trouble with finances due to poor memory. They dont care. I didnt dot the is or cross the ts on some pa-perwork recently. Now, no one wants to treat me except charity hospitals--after bustin my hump for 30 years for me and my family!Enough of the background. The ER doctor (I cant remember her name. I left the pw at the apartment) was an angel on earth. She knows what she did for me. I know what she did for me. Ill remember for the rest of my life. Itll warm my heart to think of her kindness whenever Im down or have the blues. Ill put her name in here after I look at the pw.SHout out for the rest of the ER crew, too. They have a tough, stressful job, but they didnt let it show. Professional. Courteous. I cant say enough about em. Ive had a terrible time with family lately. They treated me like family members OUGHT TO TREAT EACH OTHER! I dont mean to exaggerate when I say this, but they restored my faith in humanity. I dont have wifi at my apartment, but tomorrow Im gonna enter the name of Beumonts finest ER doctor.
I came in with severe abdominal pain and have never used bathroom in two weeks and and constipated and all they did was blood work and and me home the doctor was very rude and didnt give me anything to control the pain at all. The doctor that was on call was doctor Elaine ucbamichael she was no good and still went home in several pain.
I only give this hospital a 3 because of the great workers every were but the ER if they could get rid of the workers in the ER this would be the best hospital in that area the ER team was disrespectful they argued with the patients the girls at the registration desk cursed loudly while on the phone talking about getting drunk on christmas eve and talked about her relationship then as certain patients left and walked by they sat and talk negatively about them 2 cleaning girls sat and played as people sat in the ER for 5 hours as they went on break and joked about not cleaning certain rooms theres only a curtain that separates you and other sick people you can hear everybodys business as the ER team laughs and plays about bars and drinking and cursing its so much better upstairs they are way more professional they help you out and make sure you are well and comfortable from my opinion get rid of certain people in the ER and you will have a great hospital
Im here as we speak and I never thought that there were hospitals like this. This seems like what you see in movies. The worst possible service. Ive been here for 12 hours and havent seen a doctor nor received any mess for my pain. Also as we speak I have an IV in my arm and the machine battery went dead and I been waiting for 20 minutes. Mind you its 5am
Marie at the information desk not only gave me directions she walked me to my destination, her going the extra mile was awesome......Im always grateful when people truly understand what good customer service means to others. The lady serving the popcorn near the main entrance was awesome as well. ....very kind .
It really should be 0 my 94 yr old grandma has been sitting in this waiting room for two hours. She has fallen and has a knot on her forehead. Plus shes still dizzy and BP 194/99. To top it off theres another elderly lady that looks really bad off and shes just sitting here.
Everyone at Baptist has been wonderful to me from the moment I checked in at the emergency room! Everyone from the doctors, nurses, administration, housekeeping, cafeteria and those in between have been awesome!!!! I give y’all 100+!!! Thank you for taking such good care of me!!!
I came in and figured I had a concussion and came to find out I had a concussion.I didnt have to wait too long and was very impressed with how nice all the staff was and they really cared about me after I was discharged they was telling me that they hope I get to feeling better and I will definitely come again if anything else comes up
The lady at the reception deck was rude and unhelpful...Had to wait for her to get off of a personal phone call before I was even helped... She needs to realize that every one can still hear her conversations while she is on speaker phone... Lord its hard to find people that will work instead of just looking for a check... Baptist, really needs people that care about their jobs and other people.
Feb 9th 2013No one had told me my momma was dying So i could call my brothers in , they lost her in the system for 2 hours she was begging for help they said they couldnt do nothing until they found her and got her back into the system and than when they finally got her back into the system she died ,i cant help but think if they hadnt lost her and she could of gotten the help and medicine she needed she would still be here today, I will never go to this place again, I wouldnt have giving them any stars if I could of not do so
First time using this hospital it was not overly crowded but still took 4 hours to get help very rude staff. When I finally saw the doctor Osman Ali md he ignored what symptoms I told him and tested for stuff not even related.I just got over the stomach flu and I tore something in my chest while vomiting and I cant eat or drink without extreme pain havent had food in 4 days and managed a bottle water a day these were my symptoms and he checked for strep throat and gave me nausea medicine when I tried to explain the severity of my condition he smirked and said I would live
My mom had surgery yesterday Friday Sept 23rd, 2016 surgery process with nurses was great they were great her doctor JOHN T. HUMBLE..... but once she was released and into her room they called us we came I went introduce myself to nurse to see how my mom was doing n my mom was not cleaned up down there after she woke up no fluid flood or to drink she gave her the morfin first I cleaned up my mom I had go get nurse give me fresh gown n sheet for bed took forever bring her the jello not finally did the nurse on the night shift she was very attend next great now the evening one named Alyssa no n today Saturday she has Lindsey she didnt come in till 830 am when the other shift ends 7am they did not Come n say hey this is your new nurse for today nothing but lindsey was like need anything just let me know she hasnt checked on my mom to see she okay or need pain medicine or needs her tube clean where surgery at this upset me because just cause a family member in her with the patient doesnt mean we know what we doing they never came ask my mom does she need go restroom are you able pee or anything Ive been helping my mom needs she has health insurance and we paid the rest out OF POCKET I VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH STAFF TTHY NEED ANOTHER TRAINING!!!!!!!
My dad had to wait 7 hours to get my mom admitted and then they screwed that up as making it to where she was involuntary when my dad has power of attorney for medical... as they are waiting in the lobby someone walked up to the desk and told themthat he was told to come there because he was suicidal and the lady told that person to have a seat and they would get to him... this kind of treatment is horrible!
Dr is the worst Dr he didnt do anything except open the door n look n shut it....my blood pressure was up he didnt care...he was rude unprofessional hardly a Dr I think...if your smart n care bout loved 1 n bring them to Baptist n I end up with that dr just leave cuz u can prolly take better care of urself or loved 1 better then him...on a plus side sum of the nurses were nice.
Worst Hospital To Go To For Any kind of Help I WAITED ALMOST 3 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO SEE ME IN THE ER‼️ You have to be over dramatic just to be seen it’s not right for them to make you wait hours just to be seen they don’t go in order ‼️ So no telling how long they will sit and make you wait ‼️
YOUR BILLING DEPARTMENT IS TRASH, WAS ON HOLD FOR OVER 10 MINS WHEN TOLD MY WAIT TIME WAS 2MINS TO PROVIDE BILLING JUST TO BE HUNG UP ON AND THEN WAS ANOTHER 6 MINS WHEN I CALLED BACK just for the call to DISCONNECT AGAIN!!!! This NEEDS to be corrected and addressed ASAP.
Treats homeless people bad has security guard run homeless people off because there Hungary and starving just aint right especially a homeless vet who fought for them and they want to run them off saint Elizabeth hospital isnt like that they feed the homeless saint Elizabeth number 1 Baptist number 0
This rating is to even out the rating and make it 3 rather than 3.5, as it would have been if Baptist hadnt so obviously written positive reviews for itself as an unregistered A Google User to be its own first review 5 years ago and multiple times over 3 years ago, but no time again since.

2022-01-25We came in on a Sunday around noon because my daughter had broken her arm. It was hands down the smoothest and quickest ER visit of my entire life! The staff was helpful and kind. They moved my daughter to the back quickly. They were friendly and eased her fears. We were also treated and out of the hospital by 2pm! Absolutely amazing. Thank you

2022-04-06This is the second time in 6 months I’ve been admitted here for a spontaneous collapsed lung. Left side last time, right side this time. The care and handling is out of this world. Yeah, you get one not having a good day every now and then, but when they see us, we’re definitely not having one. The ER staff did a great job of Re inflating my lung and 4th floor Trinity nurse team was fantastic. Both times after surgery I was move to 3 south and both times they went above and beyond in my care. Dr.Myrick and his staff have all been super. The nursing staff is beyond fantastic. The only problem I had was with a lazy aide that didn’t appear to want to work to start with. Everyone else picked up her slack. All in all, this is where I’ll go.

2022-02-015 months ago I was in labor with my son and on the way to the hospital I got into a wreck. I got brought in by my father when I got there I told the staff in the er that I was in labor and had gotten into a wreck and they didn’t care they treated me terribly. Also while I was in the delivery room one of the nurses held me down to check my cervix when I told her to stop (she was hurting me) the only reason she stopped was because my sister yelled at her. The doctor was awesome but the stuff were so rude that I would prefer to never step foot in that hospital again!

How doesSomeone with a broken toe get ahead of me. I say shut down this tired ridiculous hospital that makes you wait until your basically dead before even thinking of help you. What happ To the medical field. It used to be to helping now you die before your even seen.

2022-05-22I left emergency room a little while ago after being there for about 7 hrs, trying to figure out cause of my issue. Check-in was quick and folks at check-in and billing were very nice. I got into a treatment stall very quickly, as well. Kalye, the RN who did my vitals, hooked up IV, and tended to me throughout stay, was fantastic and respectful of my issues and concerns, as was nurse practitioner and CT tech, Hannah. Because of especially Kalyes kind, caring and informative attentiveness, my stay was not as unnerving, as it might have been otherwise. She is an excellent ambassador for Baptist Hospital. Even though they couldnt figure out my issue, meds were prescribed to help with presented complaint and a helpful and informative packet was provided. I would highly recommend Baptist ER.

2022-03-07I went in by ambulance on Saturday 3/5/22 with stroke symptoms. The ER was amazing but by the time I got upstairs it was awful. I had one good nurse by the name of Stephanie that treated me good but everyone else sucked I wont ever step foot back in this hospital ever again.

2022-04-27For a place that’s supposedly a “Christian” hospital it’s obvious not a lot of followers of Christ work there.I know it might be hard but I’d think if it was a hospital of any other faith they’d make sure people that work there actually understand and respect the faith. Also if your not a people person you probably shouldn’t work at a hospital, you have people coming in who are going thru the worst time of their lives and trying their hardest to remain positive so if your not into uplifting ones spirits especially in a hospital based on faith you should look for another profession. You might literally be the last person someone talks to before they go on, some people might not have anyone else and are on the brink of giving up a few kind words could be the little spark that keeps them going.I do get a nurses job is hard but it’s the profession you chose, and don’t get me started on the Drs. They are the worst of the worst and are clearly only in it for a check.

2022-02-21My name is Brandy Horn not Ferrell. Anywho, Everyone is nice and really enjoy speaking to. The doctors are determined.. they will do everything to try to figure out what’s going on. I’ve only met 2 ppl that work here I don’t really care for but one is admission and one security guard. But love all the rest of the security.. valet.. nurses and aides .. everyone asks about my husband when I go by. That means a lot. Very nice staff. They are like family.

2022-05-02Surgical sponges were left in me after my surgery. Was immediately admitted in Houston where more sponges were found and resulted in a 2 week hospital stay with sepsis. Still getting bill from Baptist demanding payment of the services that nearly killed me. NOTHING was done to facility or physician (rhymes with Dr. Fadell) who did the surgery. Patient advocates are a joke! Yea good luck getting me to pay that bill! Yes, CEO was aware of situation and Bryan C. in Administration. Listen to your body! Go to Houston! Best treatment ever there! Saved my life!

2022-03-08Only reason I came here is because my son became ill while on vacation here.Wait is way too long for staff that sit on their behinds. I feel like everyone here moves like sloths no rush, no care, nothing. Have some gumption while working! I have only seen one nurse moving like she actually wants to help and do her job! I feel sorry for the people that live here and have to use this establishment for their health care. I’m just gonna say I’m glad I live in Florida where healthcare workers actually take their job more seriously. Writing this while still in fact waiting with my 4 year old son in the er dept………… unacceptable…… Do BETTER!
