Barnes & Noble in other cities:
Love Barnes and noble its a nice place to get away from the world and jump into a good book an if you like the book you can buy it.Books for kids an adults.Books of all kinds to many to write here they also have a coffee shop inside so while you read you can also enjoy a cup of coffee or hot cocoa for the kids.We must keep this store alive!!Barnes an Noble is a must have store.
Love the deals and organization of the store however I had a negative interaction with the employee checking me out. I bought one thing and the lady was very stale and just handed it to me with the receipt with no bag to put in it. She also did not give my friend a bag that was next in line. I just find her attitude rude and unnecessary.
This is a great bookstore but Im only giving 3 ⭐⭐⭐. We were Marginalized and Disability Discrimination. My son asked to go to Barnes and Noble at the Parks Mall in Arlington to buy a Christmas gift. We both cant wear masks because it would harm our health due to medical issues. We walked through the mall and into the store with no problem - in the store for an hour with NO PROBLEM. Went to check out at the cafe and the guy refused to check us out because we werent wearing a mask. I explained that we had been in the store for an hour with no problem. He still refused saying it was store policy. I asked if the store liked money and he said no. So we went to the front of the store and waited another 15 minutes in line to check out - NO PROBLEM. It wasnt about safety for this guy. It was about control. Hes a mask NATZI.
Amazon may be the king of book sellers, but there is something to be said for the superior browser experience at Barnes n Noble. With a wide variety of books, toys, and a film and music section combined with a coffee shop on site BnN is a fun place to go when you need to get out of the house. Youre likely going to find something that you were looking for, but maybe also an unexpected surprise
Its a typical over priced book store. It has a Starbucks... which is also overpriced. The books cost around $15-$20 each. You can get about 3 or 4 books for that much at Half Priced Books. And dont even get me started on Starbucks. I bought a coffee so I could break my $20 and have change for a $5 but a small Caramel Mocha Frappucino costs like $5 and change. Thats outrageous. Not just that but in Barnes and Noble, theres a religion section in the kids area, but mostly all of the books are Christian based. Even in the religion based books for adults, the majority of the books were for Christians.
Walking in, I loved the library meets coffeeshop vibe that made this chain such a standout - back in the day.I still enjoy walking around and being able to touch and leaf through books Im not familiar with. Unfortunately, any brick and mortar store has a vastly more limited variety than its online competitor. Not to mentioned the guilt one has to deal with when you wonder what the price would be in Amazon? As I walked out I enjoyed the visit, but not enough to repeat it unless I was simply killing time. To be honest, Id rather get that touch the real book and enjoy the variety rush from visiting a good used book store, with its less than perfect categories, finds you would never have searched for but are glad to have stumbled upon, and the somewhat peculiar shopkeeper who looks at your find, studies you for a moment, and suggests two other books that you know will become your favorites....
Ive been to many Barnes and Noble stores, and this one is the best. They have a great selection of books- even classic standard-sized $7.99 SF and Fantasy novels. Those are becoming increasingly hard to find- and their record department is almost big enough to be a record store. Service is also top notch. Overall, a great B&N.
I enjoy coming here with my daughter but today was a different story. I was followed around in the music section while looking at vinyls and other items. The worker was an older gentleman that pretended to clean near me while I was browsing. I noticed that everytime I went to another part of the music section, he would follow and clean near where I was. I tried to ignore it but it was obvious what he was doing. I walked over to another part of the section and he comes right behind me without asking if I need help and starts to point at the items and telling me what they were like I didnt know. I walked away and told an employee what happened and to inform the higher up.
THE place for whatever book you are looking for! We hadnt been since all the pandemic stuff and I missed it! We found the book Shadow and Bone that we had been looking for since binging the series on Netflix. They have a large Harry Potter section and that made my heart happy too! The best part is that we can go here without having to go through the mall!
The store itself was awesome typical Barnes and nobles full of books full of stuff to go and educate yourself and read and stay off the internet however its convoluted with millennials walking around and talking and yelling and everything else which takes away from the experience
They will refuse to check you out if you are not wearing a mask.. They didnt bother us the whole time we were shopping, when I tried to check out they offered a mask. I politely declined but they would not take my service without one. Everyone in Texas is able to get a vaccine at this point, I recommend you changing your policies as it is not illegal in Texas. You will lose business soon enough if this keeps up.
Good selection of manga, my wife ordered something that was not in the shelves while we were in store. We still enjoy manga and come by to browse their selection and pick up our latest favs, and pick up a coffee also since there is a Starbucks in the B&N. Delicious combo!
I used the recommended and offered curb side service on 4/23/2020 and placed my order around 2-2:30pm... Being that I’m from out of town, I waited in the parking lot. I ordered a 5 course meal from the Cheesecake Factory after about 45 minutes and had to eat that while waiting instead of eating it in the hotel I had waiting for my check in as I was still waiting .. I called the store after about an hour and fifteen minutes to ask exactly how the curbside service worked and spoke with an employee who assured me he had about finished up my order and it would be out shortly. At 4:30pm (my car was pretty much the only one in the parking lot other than two cars that had parked and received their orders as I waited) I watched the employees walk out and leave for the day (while the website stated they were open until 10pm apparently they closed at 4pm) so after about another ten minutes I called and there was no answer so I decided to walk up into the store only to find the door locked and everyone had went home. The curbside service instructions per the website indicate a text would be sent to my phone to confirm my order but no text was ever sent and that particular employee never bothered to see if I was waiting for anything as he left and saw me waiting there for over two hours before he left. No one bothered to let me know my order wasn’t going to ready. I waited for my order of a couple set of gel pens and books for over two and half hours. This is extremely rude not to mention severely unprofessional and won’t bother spending anymore of my money here. For the amount of money I’ve spent I’m sure there’s a more professional store out there that would appreciate my business more.
I enjoy browsing here, but honestly the only thing Ive ever bought was a cute Hogwarts tote on clearance. Books here are super expensive, and they rarely have authors I read. Even when they happen to have one I can get it for a much better price elsewhere. However, the store is always very organized and the staff is generally knowledgeable.
Great selection of books. Very crowded and busy. I hope more people were buying than just reading in the aisles. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. Toys section and kids areas were fun and interesting. Would love to see a vintage or unique section pop up on this location.
The Barnes and Noble Bookstore remains a wonderful place to shop for books. My daughter is old enough to enjoy reading a variety of books and the library is hit and miss (mostly miss). We go to the mall early and miss the traffic, which made it absolutely wonderful to browse around. There are so many books to explore and the atmosphere is just fun. The prices are competitive to other bookstores that carry less inventory. Since its attached to the mall, parking is easy to find (except at Christmas or major events) and you can shop for plenty of other items at the same time.
Great place for book shopping and a cup of coffee. I love the armostpere in here, very peaceful environment. They often have promotions on books and other merchandise, and you can save additional 10% with they membership (gives discounts to coffee too). The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Great bookstore with extensive selection. There are also many games, puzzles, toys, and home goods, making it a great place to buy gifts. The cafe is a really nice place to hang out with plenty of tables, a bathroom just around the corner, and baristas always at the ready to prepare your drink or food item. A bottled drink section includes kids drinks, fresh juices, kombucha, etc, while the baked goods display boasts cookies, cupcakes, cheesecake, and savory breakfast items. The whole store is clean and nicely organized. The clearance section was large for Christmas and had many books for just $5. River Legacy Nature Center does free Christmas gift wrapping every year (you can make a donation) and they do a beautiful job!
What can I say, but if you go with me to a Barnes & Noble book store, youd better pack a lunch. There is nothing to say about it but its a kid in a candy store state of mind for me. Nothing but books and books and books. Oh yeah, they have that little cafe inside as well as other items, but as far as Im concerned let me wander through my kind of wonderland. Ill see you next year if I remember to leave that is.If youre into books and things pertaining to them, like I am, head to your nearest Barnes & Noble.Youre welcome.
Just to the “promom” lady who only leaves complaining reviews of people not accepting to give her service for not wearing a mask. Try a face shield and stop being inconsiderate of other peoples well being. This location particularly is really nice and I enjoy the surprisingly quiet environment when I have some reading down time.
We took our Goddaughter here and she just had a blast with the kids section! She thought the little seating area was fun and tried her hardest to read to us, it was the cutest thing! Then she went over to the train station area and while playing there, made a new friend! This is a great place to take any young one as an early start into loving reading!
Great place to get away and just relax. If your a purist and relish in the opportunity to just turn the pages of a good book or magazine this us the place, there is a full coffeehouse inside that will sooth all your needs liquid wise. They offer many niche places to sit and work even near many outlets for your electronics, the bathrooms are accessible, so by all means come and dont forget to purchase a book or two.
Barnes and Noble is the most powerful place to be during the day! Theres a childrens section for little ones and even older ones to hang out in and play. Then theres the adult section with all the fiction and nonfiction reading material you can ask for! They always have the newest and best sellers, which I always go for! This Barnes & Noble has a Cheesecake Factory, but a lot of them have a Starbucks, so no matter which one youre in, you can always order a coffee while youre reading, and sometimes thats the main reason I come! Also, for those who care, they have the best air conditioner than any other place I go!
Walking in the smells of Starbucks is amazing!! Of coarse there are all kinds of books for all ages. Everything was clean and orderly. I feel like there should be a little more of a system because we couldnt find the series of childrens books we were looking for and they said they had them in stock when looking at their computer but then didnt know where they were exactly. The cashier just said we can order it for you... I guess that was easier then finding it???
This have always been my favorite bookstore. They have everything.I recently fell in love with coloring books and they had the exact copy I was looking for. The manga selection is good, could be better. The Fiction though. Omg They have soooo many books. I love when they have a cafe with Starbucks. It makes a great way to relax and spend time reading.
I just experienced the rudest/most unprofessional cashier at the Barnes and Noble in Arlington Texas. He literally stared at me instead of saying he could assist me. This experience and how he made me feel has just help me decide to not return again. I would have given no star but they did finally have the book I was looking for.
Big and beautiful. Theres so many products in here, not just books. New and recently published books are right there to greet you when you walk in, and you can easily get to cheaper books, too, if thats what youre looking for. The small computers at which you can search the shelf inventory of all the books in the store work very well, too. I love coming here!
This place is terrible. They could not find a book that I got online. I need the book and coupons for travel tomorrow. The store has plenty of employees just standing around while the shelves are a mess. Its no wonder that theyre clueless about whats in the store and what they have registered online. Do not trust anything they say. Youre better off ordering online and letting this store go under. Even after I left the website still says the book is available at the store. Apparently none of the employees know how to update stock.
Always a favorite stop for me. Especially when I just want to get out of the house and read or work at a quiet place. I also bring my little sister to browse the books on some Saturdays and Sundays. They also have a book club for the little ones. Super convenient that they have a Starbucks inside.
They have books, they have , they have Electronics, they have gifts, they have a Starbucks, and any number of other items. If they dont have an item in stock, they will gladly try to order it for you. Theyre very helpful in trying to assist you in finding what you need. Even if its something they dont carry, they go to Great Lengths to help you track it down, or even determine if its available. You can come in and sit down and relax, read a book or magazine, and have something soothing or refreshing from Starbucks. Its a great place!
I really enjoyed this Barnes and Nobles. The store was very clean and organized. I would have given it 5 stars if there was more staff around offering assistance. If youre one who like to browse book stores then this one is for you. If youre in a rush and need assistance out on the floor, I would choose another store.
A great place to find whatever literary adventures that appease you. The help desk can bring you to whatever you need, if you have some thing specific in mind. Otherwise you can spend time just browsing. There are plenty of books, music, and movies, as well as other entertaining trinkets, to serve just about any customer. I personally love the fact that they recently devoted a table to dungeons and dragons merchandise including books, dice, and other treasures. Go check it out! Also, if caffeine is your thing, they have a Starbucks on site.
I dont have a Barnes and Noble near where I live, so anytime I travel to Texas I make a point of stopping by there. Never disappointed. Selection is over the top. Anything and everything - frequently several wonderful jems I didnt know I HAD to have. Clean, pleasant people, comfortable seating, plenty of walking space, & of course the coffee/food on offer in the eatery.Heavenly.
Books wanted NEVER in stock AND when ordered address on item messed up and only keen.eye caught item whem postman tried to deliver. WillNEVER. order from there againFirst order ever placed was delivered to the store and I was not notified. When I went to the store to inquire, book had been PLACED ON THE SHELF AND SOLD
Hello, Barnes & Noble. I have the nook on my iPhone but I show great delight picking up & purchasing books from the bookstore. It just makes me feel like I have won an award for every book that I’ve purchase. I’am reading “Imagine Heaven”, I just started today! Wish my luck. 🍀
I wasnt to pleased with the service I recived. I understand it was packed but I felt overlooked and not important enough to attend to after asking for a certain title for my daughter. I wasnt provided any suggestions or even an offer to order it. I was just told it wasnt in stock and the cashier went on about her duties. I enjoy the cold drinks though.
I can spend hours in this store, and in fact I did as a date. Because of the diverse products being sold here I found myself interested and wanting to buy something in most of the aisles. The dungeons and dragons wall was especially helpful as I was trying to get my hands on a new set of dice. As I was checking out the cashier even inquired about my favorite races/backgrounds to play in d&d- very friendly staff.
The store looks nice and has a great selection. I also like the included Starbucks and comfy seating for some quiet reading. I do wish it was a standalone store because I dont like going to the mall that often. The reason I took off a couple of stars is for the crappy customer service. Theres never anyone at the info desk in case you need to find something (the books are reasonably easy to find for the most part, so if you know what youre looking for, its not that big of a deal) and when they are, they arent that helpful.I went into the store today because the second book of a series I started is marked to come out today. I mistakenly thought I could stop by after work and buy a copy. True, it was listed as higher in price than it was on Amazon, but I wanted a signed copy. I wouldve paid more to get it today and for it to be signed by the author because thats something the B&N offers and I think thats really cool. Honestly, I still wouldve bought the book if I couldnt find the signed one.The only problem was: neither copy was there. I knew it wasnt sold out because while the author is popular enough to get signed copies, shes not popular enough to sell out on the books on the first day and there were no gaps on their New Fiction displays where you might think they are. So after I finally find someone at the Info desk, he is unhelpful saying that the publisher may not have sent them the book yet and they cant control that it if its still in production He briefly mentions that I can preorder it (how do preorder a book on the same day as its release?) and then hurried off because he was supposed to be on the cash register. He did call someone who does work on the info desk, but she took so long getting back that I got bored and started browsing and when I got back, she was helping someone else. When she finally got back, she looked up the book and informed me that it wasnt listed as in stock and despite the release date, they had no copies available to sell and that there might be some books in the back that they havent unpacked and that it might be on the shelves tomorrow. No offer to me to send me a copy of the book, check in the back, or anything.Im not the type that goes running to corporate any time I have a problem, but this really grated my nerves and I did call because I wanted to know their policy for new releases. Corporate told me that the book was supposed to have been available for purchase and that they would look into the issue.Between the unhelpful info desk woman, the woman on the phone, and myself, we came to the conclusion that it would be better for me to buy from Amazon.TL;DR: Dont expect to be able to buy a book on release date.
Helpful employees! Even though they did not have what I was looking for, I enjoyed the visit and bought a book. Mite expensive than Amazon, but sometimes I have to be IN the bookstore. My husband says brick and mortar bookstores will cease to exist soon. I hope that day never comes in my lifetime!!
Would rate it a one aside from the fact that the store has a huge selection and good customer service for the most part. Was looking for a controversial book and had a lady who worked there tell me that Its better in the trash than read. Regardless of what book I was looking for, I was bringing businesses into the store. Will no longer be shopping at this location because a smug old lady couldnt keep her opinion to herself.
I personally love Barnes and Noble, and I always make it a point to stop there when I’m at the Parks. This time around however, I was doing my usual thing, looking at books and buying something at the cafe, when an older man walked up and said hello. I did not know this man, and I was instantly off-put by this. He then asked me if I wanted anything else (in a tone that implied he would buy it), to which I responded “No, I’m fine”. By this point I was incredibly uncomfortable. He persisted, and stated that he worked there and watched the security cameras. Why would he tell me this? I would never steal, if that’s what he was implying. My drink was ready at that point, so I grabbed it and made a beeline for the exit into the mall. The man then turned and followed me, and watched me through the window as I walked away. None of this situation made sense. I am a minor who was by herself, definitely not stealing, and just trying to find a book to buy for my friend, so why would an employee offer to buy me food and then follow me around. Whatever his reasoning, I was disturbed by this occurrence, and likely won’t be coming back to this Barnes and Noble. I felt the need to talk about this somewhere due to how offputting the situation was.
I’ve been in three or four different Barnes & Nobel Booksellers, and this one has been the only one with the poorest service I’ve found. I came here really quickly to buy a book I needed for school. So I went to Costumer Services, and there was a white old man... I said “hi” and he just stared at me... so I told him “I’m looking for a book” and he answered with an attitude “that’s why you’re here”, then I just gave him the name and he just turned around and started walking, I followed him then he handed out the book to me, I sad “Thank you” and he didn’t even reply... he just left. 😒 I would never go again there. I just gave them 2 stars because the girl in the cashier was really nice.
Love Barns & Nobles but the customer service is terrible. I walked in and ask a simple question “ Can you please POINT me in the direction “ the young girl loudly said “ Go to customer service desk , I am helping someone . She was alone and the customer she was suppose to be helping was no where to be found . She was just walking around . Mind you all she had to do was point. Did not ask her to walk me or look something up just point me in the direction. Ask for the manager and he came out loudly asking “ Where are these customers” Asking him “ What standards do you have for treating your customers with respect . He throws up his hands and said “ Explain what standards you talking about” I knew we were not going anywhere with this conversation. Never will I walk in that location again and word of mouth goes far and I will see to it.
I always enjoy bringing my daughter here but for whatever strange reason, it wasnt such a great visit this time. Noone was at the information booth in the center of the store and a phone there just rang and rang and rang and Noone was answering it. The computer thats always been set up to help find specific books Im looking for is completely removed from this area, and I couldnt find anyone on the floor to help me find the 8 books I was looking for. I went the old way and found one of the books and decided to buy it but Noone was at the register to pay either! All of a sudden one Wan appeared and we checked out but wow, what a disappointing experience. Ill start ordering online I guess.
This is a very large location, with lots of extras, not just books. When I walked in the toy area was kind of messy, but it was also the end of a Friday night. I was not looking for anything in particular, just passing through. My 4 year old does love that they have a train table. The Cedar Hill location recently got rid of their train table.
I went in to see if I could return a book that I had ordered online. The cashier helping me was very friendly, but then the assistant manager came and said that the book couldnt be returned to the store because they didnt carry it there which meant I would have to ship it back. I was fine with that but it was the fact that the assistant manager was right in front of me, telling the cashier to tell me this. And I then asked the cashier about a shipping label for the book and the assistant manager interrupted telling her, right in front of me again, to call customer service for further assistance because they had other customers to attend to. I dont know how hes an assistant manager, but that service turned me off to the store completely.
Last time was there it was a mess. 4 people working the center check out. 2 on their phone. The other barking orders. Books put up wrong. Kids knocking things off the tables just because they can. Seems like its a daycare for young children and the teens that work there
Its always loud, but thats to be expected since its inside the mall. The womens bathroom was a mess, toilet paper was all over the floor, and the trashcans were overflowing with paper towels. I asked for some help to find a book (many books were not where they were supposed to be/out of order), and the guy just handed me the book without asking me if I needed more assistance or simply saying youre welcome. I also got a coupon after my purchase to use at the cafe, but when I tried using it the barista told me it actually started the next day (even though the coupon didnt have a starting date).
More of a hangout for kids visiting the mall without parents. Running through the store or going to the delicoffee bar. Otherwise its a great store and employees are very friendly and helpful. It has books and toys and music and as stated previously a coffee bar with some food. Registers at both entrances as well and a help desk in the center.
Half the time there is no one at the register, the back registers (which lead into the mall) are no longer open on weekdays. The clerks always try to push their savings program that costs $20 IIRC but you dont even save anything until you spend over $200. Terrible way to reward good customers by making them buy a B&N card. And even when you say you arent interested, they still keep harping about it. Plus if the person ahead of you bites on it, then everyone behind them has to wait while the person is signed up. The store itself is usually pretty clean and organized but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
I come here alot. Its a really nice study environment the only complaint I have is the restrooms are always dirty. Paper towels and tissue every where in the restrooms the trash cans are always full. If it wasnt for how dirty the place is it probably would of had 5 stars

2022-04-06I did not really go in here to read or shop for books. It is a nice place to just chill drink coffee drink water or eat the delicious rice crispy treats at their little coffee shop. It is also a nice place to just chill while you wait on your table at. Cheesecake Factory

2022-05-01I was very pleased with the customer service. I loved how the cashier kindly and gently took my order and made one of the best Frappuccinos I have ever has. We also got one of the cheapest dvds ever. I felt so welcomed I could have screamed hallelujah. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

2022-04-08Really nice employees here! Im downright terrible at looking for things & asked for help finding multiple books. Michael was glad to help me out. I came in expecting to get one book & by the time I left I needed a basket!

2022-03-11Big as book stores get nowadays with everything going digital. They got books for every confused kid that wants to go deeper into that world of gender interpretation. I went to buy a Beautiful Leatherbound Large Print Turquoise Bible for my 18 year old Daughter. Took my teenage Niece with me to let Her get out of the house. She came back to me after exploring the isles with a book on two dudes becoming friends, then enemies, to becoming more than just friends. (Know what I mean ?)Bought that Beautiful Bible for $50. Bought my Niece a fancy blank book (or some might call it a journal) to write Her teenage thoughts in. Books are gifts to enlighten the Soul. Remember that.

2022-01-01Holy smokes, a Barnes&Noble! They still exist! Talk about nostalgia. You cant beat the smell of books and coffee. I miss being able to walk around in a book store, instead of having to browse online. Its a much better experience, and this from someone who hates shopping. I like to read the first couple pages of a book to know if Ill like it, and sometimes Ill skip a couple chapters to see if that improves my opinion, but you cant always do that online. Id like for them to improve their board game section, but overall not a bad find.

2022-01-01Great Barnes & Noble at the Parks Mall... if you want to just set and Read...also Dont miss out on the Starbucks inside the Book Store for Great Coffees and snacks. Its also a great place to just set and Read or people watch. And its a wonderful place to get special toys for your kiddos or grandchildren too.

2021-12-30We luv B&N, we enjoy going & leisurely looking around, grabbing a coffee & sitting to read or grabbing a panini for a quick bite from the Starbucks Cafe inside. I do wish they had a bit more seating around the store bc we usually have trouble finding somewhere for us to sit together but thats the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. The staff is knowledgeable, polite & helpful as well.

2021-12-31Large, well stocked, and different genres clearly marked. Cashier at checkout was friendly and conversational without being nosy. Staff couldve been more attentive, though they may have been busier due to the holidays.
