Barnes & Noble in other cities:
Its honestly a hit or miss for me. Ive been going here for as long as I can remember (granted that I live so close by it), and Ive almost always run into the same problem time and time again. The staff can either be super helpful and friendly, or not. Sometimes they are kind and very adamant about what Im looking for, and other times they can be rude and flat out ignore me. I really think this store deserves a better review because its so well kept and organized, but I cannot overlook customer care because of how crucial it is to the experience.
There was no air conditioning inside it was cooler outside in 95 conditions not only that but it was muggy and had odd smell in store. I stood 10 min on line before anyone acknowledged me and then I was going to be charged on overpour fee at the coffee shop cause there are not enough customers to brew coffee I was told. I will take my business to other stores this store seems very low rated by the employee talking to me about the management.
The store is never really crowded and has a large selection of books and a moderate selection of games (board games and puzzles). The staff is always helpful and friendly. They have a good selection of just about every type of book and are willing to help you get a book if theyre out of stock. The atmosphere is very pleasant, its quiet and not busy. They have some chairs spread around for your reading comfort. They even have a medium kids section that is well decorated.
Went in on a hot day to beat the heat. Found a book I had been looking for a while sat down to read. Next thing I know I see the sun starting to set. Was there reading for almost 3 hours. Needless to say I marked my place in the book walked over to the counter bought it and went home.
Lovely place, nice and quiet, with plenty of books obviously - what else do you need! Wasnt bothered all that much in my book decision process that of course requires full concentration with the occasional look over to the toy section (still a kid at heart), and if I needed help an employee was always in sight. A nice little Starbucks inside made the experience even better, being able to sit down with my newly bought book and a cup of Joe capped a great day.
Great brick and mortar bookstore with a coffee shop. There is an extensive inventory with both hardcover and paperbacks in every department. The customer service desk is staffed by really helpful, cheerful people. My favorite department is the childrens book area. It is inviting and fun, filled with classics and new discoveries. Its cheerful and bright. If you join their club you get discounts on everything.
Older Gentleman working late saturday afternoon. I did not catch his name but he was well dressed appx 5ft 8 appx 190lbs, salt and pepper mid length hair and glasses was incredibly helpful. I am a neanderthal when it comes to allocating books. He found everything my daughter was looking for and did so with a smile. The next time Im in he is the worker I will seek out for assistance.
Nice place to visit if you want to buy a good present, something to read or just to have a nice moment and enjoy a delicious coffee during your stay. Always will be something new to see for the whole family.. Perfectly located with a cozy ambient covered with a coffee scent, plus the good customer service will make you want to come back over and over.
Always from going to Barnes & Noble after a nice dinner with the family.it was fun for losing all of the different genres and looking down all the different tiles for the wonderful sales that Barnes & Noble is offering right now. I get lost in my selections. They cover every aspect of every different gamete of my interest! And their prices are reasonable! Theyre having a great Valentine still right now!
This is my favorite Barnes and Noble to spend time at. Despite heavy traffic in the area due to current (summer if 2018) construction, its rarely overly packed and always looks clean and tidy. Customer service is always willing to help but also wont endlessly ask if you need it. Plus, the food in the cafe is great.
Its a bit small compared to other stores, but even yet it is quite big. You can find all new releases, and even some other surprises. Given the space and all of the books available, it is a bit cramped, but it is totally worth it to visit. It is very clean, the staff is great, and the cafe is roomy and tasty. Conviniently placed un a plaza and next to a mall, you can go shopping and then relax with a book
First thing I noticed walking in was how well organized the place was. Was greeted upon walking in which made getting to what I was looking for easy. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable on things I asked about. Would recommend this store for any book lovers 👍
We love going there, its not too busy. Even when it is busy employees are always helpful, attentive and nice. The selection is smaller than the location on Gateway, in case its not available there you can order to store and it usually takes a week to arrive. In some cases they dont have it there, theyve been kind enough to call Gateway B&N and ask if they can hold the product for us to pick it up.
Ah, the smell of books. Even though this is a chain, its still great to have a bookstore that has this many options, fairly reasonable prices in the clearance, a nice selection of teen and young adult options, and a coffee shop to boot! The people are nice, the store is a decent size, and even though there arent really places to sit, its still a good place to get lost in.
I love bringing my child here, we loose track of time with the huge childrens book selection. The prices are pretty affordable, and the employees are always willing to help. Just have to say take a light jacket for your kiddos in the summer because the AC is full blast and they refuse to raise the temperature.
This place is great if you are looking for a nice book. They have manga, comics, history anf fiction books. There is a information desk as well has comfy sitting areas. There is a starbucks at thr very edge of the establishment. I personaly coming here to study in starbucks and buy some manga on my way out.
Because of the price, in comparison to Amazon, I think this is a good place to buy books if you cant find what youre looking for at the library or used bookstores around town. However, I very much prefer this store in particular in comparison to the newer one in Cielo Vista because it still has the bookstore feel, especially with the Starbucks in it.
I like the Barns and Noble on the Westside of town. Its hardly ever packed, and the sales associates are quick to help. I wish it was a bit larger, the store, but it is a great place to go. Also made a new friend here yesterday. So, that made it worth the trip from the Lower Valley
Was excited to get a treat after a concert. Expected a shortage of seating in the cafe, as that is always the case, but we didnt expect poor quality pastries. My husband and I each ordered different torts and they each were very stale. They do charge top dollar, though. What a bummer!
This Barnes & Noble location has a super staff and they are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The store engages with the community by hosting special events, book readings, and childrens activities. There is a café inside the store for people who enjoy a brew while browsing (you have to drink inside the café if I remember correctly, but you can bring reading materials you are considering for purchase into the cafe to peruse.) This is a great place to spend a couple of hours doing some leisurely shopping.
I saw they had a book I wanted listed on their website for $16. I went to the store to purchase it, however the price at the store was $27. The employee said I had to buy it online and choose the pick up in store option to get that price. Makes no sense! So, now Im waiting for them to pick out the book for me and text me to let me know its ready. BTW, its $15 on Amazon.
Good overall-great customer service as usual. Didnt have one book in stock but Mikey at customer service is going to check a store in NCfor a first edition of it and order another book for me. Frankly I wish they would keep a signed edition area all year long instead of offering up some during the last month or two. But did find a SIGNED EDITION of Augusten Burroughs Toil and Trouble! Yeah for me. As well as finding a beautifully bound edition of The boy, the Mole, the Fox and the horse byCharlie Mackesy. Be sure and get your copy today.
They didnt have outlets to charge your device, wifi was extremely slow despite barely having anyone there, only had 3 sofas and 3 wooden chairs to read on, I get its not a library but definitely not the place to do homework unless you have a laptop with extensive battery life unlike mine
Love coming here the environment is very relaxed and quiet. I would have given five stars but every time I visit the west location it seems like the ghost story section keeps getting smaller and smaller, I also asked if they carried vinyl and they did which I thought was super exciting but then I saw the vinyl collection and was sadly disappointed they had no classic rock! No David Bowie, no CCR, no Lynyrd Skynyrd but they sure had the new Justin Timberlake 🙁. But they have a decent bargain section and a decent 75% off area.
This store is in NEED of a remodel. It always looks a little dirty to me. The bathrooms are ALWAYS out of seat covers and its usualy a mess. The chairs are gone. I know most people abused the chairs, sitting in them ALL day, buying nothing. But for those of us who come with our kids and never leave the store paying less than $50, its a shame. I HATE sitting on the ground while I browse my book/magazine selection. And the cafe never has enough seating. I dont come as often as I used to.
Cafe sucks. A cafe employee just kicked out some children sitting doing their homework for taking in outside drinks. The place is nearly empty, letting them stay would have affected the business in no way whatsoever. And there is no electrical outlets in the cafe area. Inhospitable environment. And there is no food here under 600 calories.

2022-02-09Out of all the places you want to chill and have a good time reading while having a good hot coffee or tea (made just like you ordered), this is the right place to be. I wish that there were local options I could recommend in El Paso that offer all of this but sadly there arent. Not all put together anyway. You can stay here for more than two hours. Time flies by quickly. Grab a book and pick up where you left off. Shut yourself from the world while youre at it. Youll feel more wholesome and relaxed by the time you leave the bookstore.Or you can just go and buy something. Your choice. But its much better if you go for a long read and coffee ☕.

2022-02-20I like to wander through the books and see what is there. If they dont have what youre looking for, you can order it and have it delivered to your home, or if you have it delivered to the bookstore there is no shipping cost. Its also interesting to see what magazines are available and grab a cup of coffee.
