Barnes & Noble in other cities:
O love Barnes & Noble! I went for the story time and the reader was so sweet! We really enjoyed it. I usually can find all the books I need and the staff is very helpful. I’m only taking one star down because the floor around the kids area is kind of dirty, and if you expect to have kids (why do they enjoy moping the floor with their body?), then you need to have it a bit clean.
Ive not visited Barnes and Noble since the world turned upside down.Great range of books and board games for everyone. We came to purchase a board game and were happy to see they had the item in stock.Staff member was helpful in assisting us find the item, so no complaints there.
It was nice to actually walk around handling actual books..feels like its been years since I last did that (probably has). They had everything from popular fiction to Criterion Collection Blu-Rays (and a lot of interesting sale items- I walked away with a hardbound character guide for Rick and Morty). The on-site Starbucks was a plus- the Mrs. and I hung out and read with a hot beverage for a while afterwards...it was nice! Staff present and attentive, which is always appreciated. Stop by and enjoy an unhurried ramble through the stacks...who knows how much longer we will be able to enjoy brick and mortar bookstores?
I was nervous about bringing my young child into a very adult space. He is four but he is the same size as a texas 8 yr old. But the staff seemed enamored by his love of books and his excitement at seeing all the material things he loves in one place. So, we will come back.
Its been a long time since I had been into Barnes and Noble in LaFrantera. Glad we still have the real book option in lieu of Amazon. They still have a nice selection of books, even local authors and they had some vinyl LPs which was cool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Its nice to turn some real pages instead of scrolling!
A great place for finding books, calendars, magazines, gifts, and more for all age groups! The staff helps locate books in the store as well as find and ordering books online. You can pick them up at the store or have them delivered to you. Wanting a cuppa? Yes, you can get that here too. Highly recommend Barnes and Noble!
Yet again, I find another Barnes & Noble that has their religion section as all Christianity. Other religions are in the self transformation section which isn’t accurate and setting a bad example for the young children of this world because we should not be pushing Christianity on every single person. I will say in their religion section they have one singular small bookshelf called eastern religions, but it is still lacking in just about every religion there is out there. The very few that they do have listed in the religion section are the others that can be derived from Christianity. And when I asked the store person if they carried others, she was less than helpful
Books! This place had so many books in spectacular condition.I asked the staff for help finding one and they were exceptionally kind, and even found the series I doubted they would have!I was happy that they were able to help me of course, but the service was really nice regardless (:
Good place to buy, or visit or read!! Starbucks is in the stores just waiting for you also. Had great parking including handicap parking. A great variety of books in very good quality and easy to order exactly what you want or need! Has games and a children’s section that has a great variety of fun and educational books! Very friendly staff whom are very helpful. They have staff that actually ask you if you need help anywhere in the store!
The lady at the register was so rude. (Seal)Idk if she’s never seen kids of color or what maybe she was just having a bad day but as soon as she saw my kids she didn’t say another word to me. Didn’t even say thank you. Before I left I told her “you could at least say thank you.” If you don’t like where you work then find a new job. People need better customer service skills especially working there.
This B&N has a great selection and I usually spend hours here. The help desk is always courteous and helpful when I’m looking for something particular and has even helped me put books on hold at other locations when they don’t currently have them in stock. It is also well organized. Each section is clear to find and seems very fluid. The Starbucks in store is great too. I’ve never met a barista at this location I didn’t like. The cafe is a great place to sit and read... unless someone is having some sort of meet up there. I don’t blame the store for this but if you are staying to read and grab a bite to eat, I encourage you to remember headphones and some tunes to drown out loud conversations. The bathrooms are kept tidy and have a nice little table outside to place the books you haven’t purchased yet on so that you don’t carry them into the restroom with you.
Came by to buy a couple books. Didnt have a hard time finding what I wanted. From the beginning the woman at the counter was a little distant and unhappy. Unfortunately, my membership expired a few days prior. I decided not to renew because I dont come often enough. As soon as I said I wasnt interested in renewing that day the older woman behind the counter suddenly started acting very rude. It really ruined the whole trip. Being rude definitely wont make me change my mind!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. They are always willing to help you find a book, or order it for you if they dont have it. There is a Starbucks located inside, and they have no problem with you carrying your drink around the store. The kids section is wonderful, and has a small wooden train table with trains for children to play with.
I will never ever return to this place the lady that was on the phone with me was very rude to me ! They don’t price match to any other stories that bazaar terrible customer service ! I will not be returning back to this store. Where is the manger when you really need them I guess they were gone! I will recommend to people not to come here.
Ive liked Barnes & Noble for years the book selection there is very good. The customer service is also very good when youre looking for a book they will look through their system and see if its available at their store if its not they will see which stores in the area have it available. You can also Place customer holds via online or at a store. They will hold your item for up to 3 days which is really convenient if you dont want to show up at the store without having the item available. The main negative with Barnes & Noble is the pricing it can be a little high versus online. I think if they improved on that they would be at five stars.
Great book/gift selection and atmosphere. Occasionally bring my kid here to spend some time playing at the train table while I look for books for him in their childrens area. They used to have a lego table as well (Not sure if it was gone permanently or just for the holidays on my last visit.)Having the Starbucks inside is a great plus!
Always love going into this book store. Some childrens titles (middle school level) were not available so we went to the library to check them out. Parts of current series were gone. But, always a nice place to go to. Happy grandsons still prefer real books to online reading!
Books. Lots of them. Staff is helpful. The place is warm and welcoming. And theres a coffee shop. Theres a huge kids area, with a reading theater. The movie section leaves a LOT to be desired. Prices are very high. Selection is very small. But most people would come here for the books, so for that purpose, youll find what youre looking for.
Went here two days ago for a curbside pickup. I understand being safe and practicing social distancing, but I think there should have been an option to get the book dropped in the window of my back seat. The guy said it had to go in my trunk...which was fine. The problem was that he slammed my trunk as if it was his car, please tell your employees to be mindful/respectful of customers vehicles.
Always top-notch service here. I went in looking for Harry Potter in Spanish the other day, and couldnt find it. One of the staff, busy restocking, took the time to ask if I was searching for anything in particular. I told her what I was looking for and she quickly found it hiding on an end cap in a nearby section. Definitely will be continuing to buy from this store!
So many books and a ton of places to hide yourself away to get lost into a world completely different from yours. Bliss, pure bliss. The drinks, food, and baristas are really good and its walking distance from the place that I volunteer at occasionally making it very convenient for me. Not as many charging stations as I would like, but it is a good atmosphere to study, read, and to get work done.
One of my favorite places. Theyve got a ton of books and keep all the summer/college reads on the same table so you can zip right in and out. They also have a really nice selection of comic books (Just wish I could find Jem and The Holograms). Theres also a Starbucks where broke college kids can sit and read books for free.
Todays visit was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday. Its also St Patricks day, so that could be a reason. Dropped into the cafe and enjoyed a large classic Chia Latte,. While checking out a few books from the science fiction section. Then ended up having a chocolate chip cookie.Always nice to wander through the aisles after a tea, to explore new sections and discover interesting books.
I’ve placed two separate online orders for in store pickup & each time I’ve only been able to receive partial orders as they are ‘out of stock’. Well both times when I pick up the partial orders I’ve been able to locate the out of stock books in the store! One even had a whole table dedicated for the book. The employees are just to lazy to look for them. I’ve been in this store several times and every time I’ve encountered rude employees. Won’t be coming back, rather just purchase my books off Amazon or visit the half price books across the street.
I like Barnes and Noble and have shopped at their stoes for decades. The staff is quite helpful and cheery and the stores are clean and bright. However, it seems that they are fighting a losing battle against Amazon. On each visit, I have a growing sense that B & N is turning into more of a toy store. I can see that theyre trying to find a formula for survival. But theres room for fewer books now and its harder to find books on many topics. Yes, I know they can special order books. But its a lot easier to get something from Amazon. In a way, its poetic justice. The big chains drove the private bookshops out of business; now the same thing is happening to them. For the record, I still like shopping at independent bookstores, but they are harder to find now.
I cant say enough good things about Barnes & Noble. Friendly staff, area to read, kids area, and a coffee shop in side. The atmosphere is so relaxing in the store it motivates you to find a book or magazine to read even if your not a reader.Theres just something about it that I cant explain. Barnes & Noble sells items you can get as gifts and even has a toy section. In the back my local store location there an all section dedicated to audio books, music cds, movies and ect....If you have never visited a Barnes & Noble store, then you should at least once.
Barnes and Noble is usually just an overpriced bookstore with a decent coffee house attached. But, this one is nice enough that its a fun visit and worthwhile even just to kill some time or to snag a book that was barely available anywhere else.On second glance, you can find lots of deals if you look, and it is nice to have a place to go for nicer gifts and items as well. The people are usually really nice, and if you grab a tea or coffee and walk around really slow and just absorb some of the sites, its great. The rest of the nearby stores are a bit lame, so only come here if you need something specific. Otherwise, its a bit out of the way.
This is a great location, very nice collection of books. I shopped specially for kids books and they have a lot of choices and well priced options, picture books, early reader books etc, the atmosphere is also really enjoyable for my kids, I believe they even have a reading hour on the weekends.
Was a Sunday evening, they appeared to be pretty slow. Went looking for a specific book as most people do. Was unable to find it so I went to customer service, there were 2 people waiting so I decided to track someone down. I did, the clerk was very nice and said shed be happy to help. I showed her the book online and she said follow me. We went to customer service and she apologized to the customers waiting and got on the intercom requesting help. She looked the book up, took me right to it and I thanked her. I proceeded to check out and was out of the store.
Lovely large bookstore with friendly knowledgeable staff. Kids book readings regularly so check the website or call ahead to see where. Youll pay a few extra bucks for the books vs shopping online but its worth it for the browsing g and chance for kids to choose their own.
This is a tough review to give. I grew up with this franchise being a staple in my weekend schedule; my mom and I would go all the time. There was a certain magic to the place that really spurred my imagination. It was a shame reading about B&Ns struggling financial state - reducing most staff to part time to cut costs - and I suppose that it makes it more of a drag witnessing a companys demise via stagnation.Dont get me wrong, the staff are helpful and youll likely find the book you need if you need it in a pinch, but if youre looking to have an experience while you expand your literary horizons, youre not going to find it here. With Amazons affordability and Bookpeoples charm, its tough to recommend a franchise that provides neither.
If you are a Biblioholic then B&N is heaven. Great selection, helpful staff and super kids section. They also have all sorts of games to choose from. They have an educational section also. I rarely go into their video section or the coffee bar area. They are pricey and minus 1 for always upselling their membership discount and making educators jump through hoops for the little discount they offer. You would think they could tie it to a membership card or with todays technology keep it in the system and update it once a year.
I love this place, but getting any form of help from the actual customer service desk is always akin to pulling teeth. Searching for a book? Dont bother telling them the title. They wont listen. I said the title 8 times, and spelled it half as many, only to be met with it doesnt exist. I dug around and was able to find one copy. This isnt the first time spelling and basic listening skills have been a problem here.Changing to a different B&N for my book shopping.
So many books , so many choices! Not to mention the coffee shop. The Round Rock store has a Starbucks in it that sells the very best chocolate fudge cupcakes. Yum!This is our go to book store whenever we need to buy books for school (dictionaries, theasuarouses, etc..) as well as fun collectibles!
This specific location is probably the only business keeping La Frontera alive. I am Very thankful to still have this location open so close to home- there are newer and larger Barnes & Noble locations, but it’s nice not to have to make the trip into Austin every time. Always have what I am looking for in stock, and friendly staff to help you find it.
I called ahead to make sure my daughters class-required book was in stock. When I got to the cashier, the price was $4 more than it was when I checked online! The only way to get the online price was buy it through my phone, or to buy a $25 annual membership so B&N could match THEIR OWN price for in-store pickup!Did YOU know in-person customers are paying significantly (40% ish) higher prices?Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc etc (basically all retailers) are happy to give you their online prices if they are different, but NOT Barnes & Noble. To add insult to injury, when I went back to the counter to pick up the book, the clerk, with my book in his hand and my proof of payment on my phone, said I needed to wait an hour or two for “processing”. Or I could still buy the $25 annual membership for the convenience of taking my paid-for book immediately. It’s difficult to see this ridiculous business model lasting too long in this Information Age.I wish I had saved an additional 20% by buying it from Amazon for $10 delivered free to my doorstep in 2 days, or free same day delivery with an additional $25 purchase. Now THAT would be a convenience!!
The books here are always first class. They adhere strictly to the standards of the Association of Bookbinding Professionals. I went looking for a book for my daughter to read and ended up eating a Rice Krispy treat. Who knows what gems you can find like this. They have shelves and shelves of books that you can also find online, mostly for free. If youre watching your weight Id recommend Amazon to shop for books. If you dont have Netflix, Amazon or friends stop here for a good time.
They were out of brewed coffee and had to resort to pour overs for everything. At noon on a Saturday. The person doing pour overs was clueless as to the process and amounts. My coffee was weak and watery...and it took over 10 minutes. They made no effort to rebrew the brew coffee while I was there. It was incompotence on an impressive level.
When checking out the hard sell on the membership was truly over the top. I said no three times and she just kept pushing. Then the Worst Starbucks experience ever. Two young teens behind the counter were completely inept. Could not get a cup of tea - one didnt know how to make TEA!?! And neither could find the regular tea I asked for. Also, neither knew the regular stbk menu items. Slow AF - long line. Lazy girl didnt offer to get a manager when I told her I would never come back- zero customer service! Who ever is training the baristas here should be replaced! No bueno.
In a desperate search for a very admired book, the staff went above and beyond to help me acquire this book. The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.I have been here several times and each time is a great experience. I always leave happy and at times, with more books then what I can’t for!You guys Rock!Semper Fi!Johnny
The Starbucks isnt a Starbucks: just a place that sells product. So many people(with water cups) set up in the coffee area are just using WiFi that you have to eat outside. The evening we were there huge flocks of grackles were in the parking lot- so moved our chairs under a small awning to avoid being messed on. My eleven year old spilled her steamer and it was so hot she has a blister. I wont go back to look for books or pick up a snack while shopping.
Address is wrong. Sends you to a back street gymnastics place. Then you call and they cant give you the correct address but tell you to GPS to Old Navy because they cant get Google to fix it. Wow. Spent 15 minutes driving around looking for it. Google should be correct!!!
Barnes & Noble has a well rounded stock of books, games, and other items. If they dont have what you are looking for they probably can order it for you. This particular location (in the La Frontera shopping center in Round Rock, TX) has a built in Starbucks where you can have a coffee and browse potential purchases. The only drawback in this reviewers opinion is that the merchandise is priced at full retail, although there are some exceptions such as sales or special promotions.Trivia: according to Wikipedia, The name La Frontera means “the border” or “frontier” in Spanish, referring to the developments location on the border of Travis and Williamson counties.
This is what I wrote to Barnes and Nobles customer serviceI was in your round rock texas store located at 2701 Parker Road Bldg A Suite 700 round rock TX. last night and used the bathroom. The mens restroom was incredibly disgusting. The floor was covered in toilet paper scraps and the walls didnt look like they had been cleaned since the building was constructed, there was even dried blood on the walls! the paint was peeling off the ceiling and the urinal was not flushing properly and smelled disgusting. also the floor did not look like it had ever been mopped. The inside of the stalls were equally disgusting, brown and dingy and the toilet seat cover dispenser was empty and about ready to fall off the wall. I travel a lot and have been to truckstops in the middle of nowhere that had cleaner bathrooms. how can you have such a beautiful store with bathrooms that look worse than an outhouse. very dissapointed. I told the manager about it and she sent an employee to clean it, he spent about 5 minutes in there and ame back to report that it had been cleaned, hardly. it would take a 5 man crew 3 days to clean it.

2022-06-21This is the largest B& N store in Austin. You can find books on just about any subject. There are music records available. You can grab a book and read at one of the tables or chairs, enjoy coffee and grab a bite to eat.

2022-06-03Always love B&N. Always spend to much due to lack of will power. The employees are always friendly and willing to help at a moments notice. They all love books so it is easy to chat with them and get great recommendations. Clean, comfortable and overall a great place to spend a few hours.

2022-05-16Horrible experience. I couldn’t find a common magazine that the store has always carried. Asked a young new employee for help and she said we don’t have that book. The young man who was training her knew I had asked for a magazine and seem to be familiar with the one in question. He was starting to help her get an answer in the computer for me when an older lady named Sandra walked up and took over. She quickly said that “we don’t have that“. I told her I saw the same exact magazine just two weeks ago at their store. She then started yelling at me and telling me that she knows what she’s doing. I told her I just wanna know if it’s sold out or they stopped carrying it. She would not give me an answer and continued to yell at me. I told her it is not worth the stress and had to ask three times for the name of the general manager who will be hearing from me. This was absolutely ridiculous for such a simple request. Sandra should not be speaking to the public.

2022-07-31This B&N although being busy still has a very quiet and soft feel to the store. When my boyfriend and I go to buy a new book it’s busy enough to have great conversations with other book worms and be able to sit quietly and read a few pages with staff close by in case you have any concerns or questions.

2022-07-13Hope bricks and mortar bookstores never disappear. I always find something interesting to read that I wouldnt have wanted on my own. Recently, a really enlightening and entertaining history of Ukraine from early development to present day.

2022-07-16I visited this location on Friday, July 15th at around 8:45 PM and had a loathsome experience at checkout, I was asking about an educator discount which Barnes and Noble apparently offers which I had learned about via word-of-mouth; I’m employed with the Pflugerville Independent School District and while I was inquiring about this with an employee (Kam W is that employee who was super helpful) until the woman working next to her rudely interrupted and was being extremely condescending towards me and my inquiry after I had just spent $75 on merchandise at this establishment. Rather than reacting to me with decency or kindness, she decided to continue arguing with me even when she had a customer waiting for her at the register. I didn’t catch her name, but I’m sure the employees at this store know who I’m talking about, due to her extremely unpleasant nature. I have a feeling she has gotten her fair share of complaints in the past. All I’d like to say is they’ve definitely lost this customer, and if you’re looking to buy a book, or, well, basically anything, Amazon’s the way to go.

2019-12-28Overall a great selection of books here and nice gift choices. The directions for the previous location are off (sends you to a church). So I had to create a second place because GMaps wasnt updating the directions.

2020-12-13Nice book store with a Starbucks inside. Nice sales associates and very clean. Covid-19 precautions are not so intrusive and the have hand sanitizer set out. Still dont like that anyone can read the books then put them back.

2022-02-23Quiet, clean, well stocked. Love coming here to browse books and reset. Cafe line is never too long and there is ample seating with tables to read or do homework. Easy access right off the feeder road and customer service is always great!
