My favorite restaurant. It’s just so good every time. Be sure to get the Artichokes straight off the grill for the appetizer. They are divine. Service is always great, food always yummy. Tuna salad, traditional salad, French dip with shoestring French fries and the apple cobbler are my favorites.
Lovely Valentine’s dinner date. Food was impeccable, service was attentive ambiance was comfortable and elegant. We split the double pork chop plate. They split and plated it in the kitchen. Good wine selection and the key lime pie was to die for. Will definitely be going back.
Omg!!! This was the Best steak Ive ever had my whole life. I actually ate the whole thing and Ive never done that. I got the 100 day marinaded ribeye and it was off the scale! Pear martini was Soo good. I had 2 they were so good. The greens were very delicious especially if you like fresh greens. Baked potato was so yummy and cute how it came out. Love this place. This place is definitely for a date business meeting and more.
Every single meal Ive had here is fantastic. Some of the best prime rib you can find in the city, and makes for an awesome french dip sandwich. My current go-to is the Sashimi Tuna Salad. The grilled artichokes are famous for a reason. Hopefully you get some before they run out for the evening.Low light, cozy, intimate space. Absolutely perfect atmosphere for date night.
First of all the food and drinks are always delicious and impeccable.Tonight they really impressed us with extraordinary service. We made a reservation for Saturday night, or so we thought. Come to realize that we reserved on the wrong day. Inspite of that fact and the fact that they were quite busy they were able to seat us right away. We were helped by more than one server and they were both quite attentive.
I’ve been to expensive restaurants before and while they had better than normal food I never felt they were worth the price. Yesterday I eat at Bartlett‘s for the first time and the food was jaw-dropping. I’m not being hyperbolic when I say I had no idea food could even taste that good. Not just the food but the service was the best I’ve ever had in my whole life. When I have enough money to come here again I absolutely will.
Excellent food, excellent service, hot towels at the end of your meal.. nothing about my meal here was bad or out of place. While very much a fine dining establishment, the portions offered here are large and the quality of the food is unmatched. I had the sashimi tuna salad, spinach and artichoke dip, and tried a little of the key lime pie and the apple cobbler. Everything was absolutely delicious and our server was extremely helpful and polite! If youre looking for a somewhat classier dinner out in Austin, give Bartletts a try!
Look I order from this restaurant because my customers really like the restaurant. I paid more than my customers for a meal. I ordered chicken, salmon and prime rib my meal was over 200 dollars. Let’s be clear you guys used an Apricot glaze that came from a jar & the meat was partially cooked from yesterday smdh. The portions were underwhelming given the price and you’d think that instead of large portions, the food would be superb for the cost. It was average. The chicken was smaller than a game hen. The salmon was a 1/2 filet. Just mediocre, and overpriced for mediocre.
Formally a Houston’s restaurant many of the same amazing menu items are still here. I absolutely love the house marinated ribeye, the marbling can be a little much sometimes but the meat around it is incredible, juicy and tender. The champagne vinaigrette salad dressing is the best - if I could bottle it I would take it with me to other restaurants it’s that good. I sometimes call in an order of the traditional salad with rotisserie chicken for pick up and it’s ready in 10 minutes right at the bar.Overall the atmosphere is always cozy and intimate. The lighting is on the darker side overall with recessed lighting on your table which makes it feel like you are just with the person or people at your table. Sitting at a booth is even more private feeling.Waitstaff is always professional and timely. Some of the best service in Austin.
A lovely restaurant with excellent service. This was the first time dining at Bartletts, based on a recommendation, and were not disappointed. The 100 hour marinated steak was cooked perfectly and my wife loved the Ahi tuna salad. The seating was spaced out nicely and, overall, it was an excellent choice for our first date night since Covid hit.
Every visit is an amazing experience of flavors at Bartlett’s.I have yet to have a bad meal at this place. From the Moscow mule to the chocolate mousse everything tastes delicious. They make vegetables tasty incredibly yummy. Last time for instance I had spinach and it was sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. So far it’s been the best restaurant to go back to. Absolutely great from beginning to end, even worth the 45 minute wait!
Great food. Worst host staff in ATX. Twice I have gone to grab a bite at the bar and mixed messages, attitude, and just plain incompetent. I was always polite and maybe should have been a jerk but left each time hungry and frustrated. Used to be a favorite restaurant but with a host staff that thinks they are so important and the customer is an inconvenience, I give up. Strike 2 was enough.
The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and cozy, the wait staff was very knowledgeable, fun and attentive in just the right way. The food was excellent and interesting and this Key Lime Pie was absolutely spectacular!Need I say more? If I lived in Austin I would be heading over there right now for more. ❤️
Came here for the first time about a week ago. We order the smoked salmon and it was amazing. I ordered the ahi tuna salad it was seared perfectly and the dressing was delicious. I had a prickly pear cocktail that was very good as well. The menu has something for everyone. Our server was professional and quick with everything. The entire restaurant has a nice ambiance to it. The bathrooms were very clean.
I recently had lunch here with coworkers and walked away greatly satisfied. Well known for their steaks, Bartletts delivered in that regard. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and it was a generous serving size. The experience wasnt particularly remarkable but, if you want a good steak, this is your place. Id definitely go back.
My family and I have been coming here for years as it is our favorite restaurant. However, recently the service has been sub par. Every time we have gone recently, the hostess Talitha has been awful to us. The first time we had a reservation and she sat people without reservations first (even though we came in before them). We told a manager about this poor service and nothing changed. The most recent time we went, just my father went inside as we did not have a reservation and wanted to see if we could get a seat. She said he could sit “anywhere he wanted” then proceeded to talk about how stunning and handsome he was and flirted with him. This made me and my mother extremely uncomfortable when we came to sit and he told us what had happened. We found this to be extremely unprofessional. Nevertheless, the food is amazing however customers should be in a comfortable environment while dining and your hostess should refrain from flirting with their customers.
We went out to celebrate and had an AMAZING time. Our server Phil was fantastic. He was very knowledgable about the menu and wines. His recommendations were spot on and very piece of food we ate was perfect. The atmosphere of the restaurant is upscale, cozy, and intimate. This is our favorite steak house in Austin and will be returning again. Thank you for the unforgettable experience!
The service and food are spot on. Our friends describe this place as The perfect place to take your parents out to dinner when they come to town and as weird as that sounds as a compliment its pretty fitting. Its new American done well, done consistently, and served with a very professional staff. Only complaint we have is the menu needs some refreshing. Weve stopped going as much after eating every dish offered multiple times over the years.
Have only been here once, but cannot rave enough about the food item I tried. It was a daily lunch special of grilled Salmon with Roasted beets. My salmon was cooked just the way I ordered and expected it to be, and overall, I thought it was a perfect lunch portion for me, not to mention how appetizing my plate looked and tasted as good as it looked. Having tried other upscale restaurants in the Austin area which have great ambiance but average tasting food, I was not expecting much but this place surpassed my expectations. Food had flavor and the beets/salmon complemented each other beautifully, so much so I ended up eating all the beets served!
Called to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day and these people have the audacity to very rudely and inappropriately play games, having no respect for my time. The kid who answered the phone just put this restaurant a step deeper in the hole to a bad reputation. Do not toy with people’s time! If I want to make a reservation now, I should be able to make a reservation now.
We just wanted to thank you and the staff for a lovely evening. This includes the young woman I spoke with this afternoon that scheduled our reservation up to the person taking out food to your curbside area. As we left, he told us to have a great evening and thanked us for stopping for dining with you all. The hostess also asked if we enjoyed the evening and thanked us.I think our wait persons name was Evan. He provided excellent service and helped us to have an exceptional dining experience. Of course the deliciously prepared food didnt hurt. Its so rare to see outstanding customer service and delicious food all in one location. We came from Georgetown and were so happy we made the drive down. Also, thanks for keeping your staff and customers safe.We hope to see you soon. Thanks again!Tina and Ed Stoddard
The atmosphere, lighting, and sound level of Bartletts are great. Its a very big space, but even still they do a good job with lighting and volume to make your experience very private and intimate. Our server was excellent. Recomended the fillet mignon to my fiance and offered to buy it if he didnt like it (he loved it)!The food was wonderful. My only complaint was the portion sizes were too large. We started with the smoked salmon appetizer, and by the time we ordered I knew I was much too full a large entre. I opted for the After 5 Salad instead of steak or fish. We were too full for dessert.Overall great experience and very close to us in North Central Austin. We will certainly be back!
Very good food, service and atmosphere. My friend had been before but I had not. She raved about the spinach artichoke dip and she was right. It was the best Ive ever had. We also each got the grilled chicken salad. All of the veggies were crisp and fresh, nothing wilted. It was delicious. I cant wait to go back for dinner and adult beverages.
This steak was exquisite. And this is also one of my fave restaurants in Austin! So good, amazing relaxed quiet ambience, and excellent service!#barlettsatx #atxfoodie #foodiesofinstagram #foodiesofaustin #austintexasfood #foodatx #eateratx #atxbesteats #austin360eats #atxfoodblogger #bestfoodaustin #austinrestaurants #steakatx #steakaustin #keepaustineaten #keepaustinweird #austintexasthings #austinfoodstagram #512eats #austineats
The most fabulous restaurant and staff ever. Food is always superb. Ambiance perfect. One of the few places in town that still pays attention to the details, like spotless glasses, pristine tablecloths and tidy restrooms. I’ll never stop frequenting this lovely place.
Food was excellent (once my steak was tempd correctly), but service was lacking. I expected fine dining service, but I got Outback Steakhouse.I worked in fine dining for many many years, and I definitely expected better service on a $200 tab. Our server was indifferent and seemingly agitated with our requests to refire our very cold steaks. We were never offered specials/features or suggested menu items. They seemed ready to get us out of there ASAP.Id dine there again for the another beautiful NY strip and a cocktail, but Id lower my expectations for the CS experience.
So, I tried to give bartletts a chance since they changed from Houstons and the Hawaiian steak is not the same. The customer service is not the same. So I decided not to prejudge and give them maybe a daytime review and then an evening time review just to make sure that I gave a fair judgment. So for lunch I sat at the bar and ordered a cap ribeye which is now the replacement for the formerly Hawaiian ribeye. Tough extremely fatty more fat than meat and I was extremely disappointed not only by the service of the bar staff but my food. Second attempt was in the evening after 6:00 pm. I got seated in the dining room area and ordered their salmon appetizer theyre baked chicken and a house salad. Had about five different waiters. Food was much better this time however they serve chicken not steak so I cant give them credit because I expect a 4-5. Star restaurant to cook a good chicken. Ambiance is mid 39 to 69age range. Executives, entrepreneurs, business minded folks as well as mature relationships observed. Post divorce dating. Where its located its convenient if you work there live there or if youre just familiar with the previous Houstons restaurant. Not consistent with the food quality. Servers should not prejudge the patron and provide exceptional service regardless of what Sever thins the demographic of the restaurant. All $ is green.
After only enjoying Bartlett’s as a take out option for the last year+, we ate in person last night. It was fantastic. All of the food disappeared so fast that I don’t even have a picture to share. The service was top notch, and we are already planning our next visit. See you soon!
We really like this restaurant for upscale dining, wine, and cocktails. They have wood-fired grill specials and a classic set of dishes that have stood the test of time. The staff are incredibly professional and the food is always first rate and fresh. Although the name changed a while back, some version of this restaurant has been in this location for over 20 years. They have somehow been able to retain the quality of both the staff and the food over the entire time.
Bartletts has always been a favorite. Yesterday (Thanksgiving) I ordered online for curbside pickup my familiys favorite appetizer the smoked salmon. I drove up and restaurant was closed. I should have known. I was a little sad but they work so hard and I was glad they were closed so could have time with family. Today I called and reordered the smoked salmon. I showed up at curbside and they let me know that they comped my order. This was not expected or necessary but just goes to show that Barletts is a class act. Ive seen some restaurants comp things for a rude complaining client or to special guests. But these folks comped my order and wanted me to be happy and taken care of and I didnt even complain. I will for sure come back and dine again at Bartletts.
As usual food was delicious as well as the Margaritas. Waiter shared today that they are held to certain standards and there is a way to do everything with big brother watching including making drinks, which makes for consistency..it also explains why the 100hr marinated steak is ALWAYS cooked to perfection and the drinks ALWAYS taste the same no matter what time of day you go. I like that they are still doing reservations (keeps dining room at a comfortable level for covid worries) with parties up to 4 set for 1 1/2 which is enough time for us to chat eat and have a few drinks without feeling rushed. Definitely would recommend, but let me share that a dinner for 2 which included 2 margaritas with upgraded tequila, 2 100 hr steak meals and a spinach artichoke appetizer came to around $150. It may be considered a little expensive but makes for a nice date night with the hubby.
My favorite place to eat. The bartenders are the best, drinks are amazing, and the food is always top notch. You won’t be disappointed.Update: yep, it’s still the best and only gets better after time. Whether it’s the salmon and capers or the traditional salad with steak ... This place just makes me happy and fulfilled.Thank you (for the strong martinis and the two salad dressings on the side without charging me)
Seriously! My whole meal was delicious and Im sad that I forgot to take a picture!! We ordered the Sashimi Tuna Salad, Asian Steak Salad and the Grilled Artichokes. I didnt want to stop eating!! But at the end it was SO FILLING! The Ahi was perfect! Not too peppery like most restaurants make it! My only complaint was the big cuts of purple cabbage. The Artichoke, OMG, SO DELICIOUS! And the steak on the Asian salad is LIKE NO OTHER! Tender, rich, DELICIOUS!! Chris who took my order over the phone was very knowledgeable and assured me that everything will still be fine even if its a salad because everything is packaged separately and he even gave me tips of how to heat up my Artichoke if I have it the next day! Very friendly, reassuring and caring! Totally recommend eating here or ordering to go!
The artichoke spinach dip is the best I have had in my entire life. They even serve it with a side of delicious Smokey salsa. The staff is attentive and the Rye Old Fashioned will warm you up on the off day it happens to snow in Austin. Excellent atmosphere for date night. Sit at the bar. Hopefully your bartender is Michael, he made our whole evening with his attention to detail, prompt service and easy going attitude. I will come here every time I am in Austin.
We enjoyed lunch but I just do not appreciate getting a drink (pear martini) half full. Two of us ordered one and it is if the bartender made one and filled in two glasses. Since there was not much in the first one we ordered another - same thing. So, it’s a nice place but they serve drinks half full for full price, just btw.
First time we had eaten here since it became Bartletts. I am not one for sauces or glazes but I tried the Oven Roasted Chicken with an apricot glaze tonight. The chicken was juicy and the glaze was sooo good! They let me change the salad it was paired with for the garlic mashed potatoes. Also VERY good. My mother had the prime rib. It was tender and juicy! Honestly, you cant go wrong here. Amazing food, and great service! Upscale dining at its best! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
This place had great food and service. A dark atmosphere which is very comforting. Nicely decorated and the dining area is sectioned off so your table feels somewhat private. Wait staff is dressed in white and very professional. American food on the menu and you really cant go wrong. The applewood smoked pork chop is my favorite but there is steak and seafood too. It isnt cheap but you get what you pay for. Servings are generous and the drinks are very well made. Nice wine menu too. I wouldnt bring small kids here. Great for a date. Several people I know in Texas live this place. Highly recommended.
I think this is a nice place to take a date. they have great food and service. The grilled artichokes are amazing and the Thai chili Brussels sprouts. I could go here and just eat the apps. I always get a hickory burger and they are juicy and delicious. I have never had a bad experience here.
This is one of my favorite places in Austin to eat. Ive been coming here since I was a kid and its still just as good as it was when I was young. I love the atmosphere inside it really makes you not want to leave. I would like it if they had a little bit better Ranch though. Im very picky about my Ranch and it was just a little bit too sweet
My visit to Bartlett’s was one of the top dining experiences in my life. We started with some delicious Mexican martinis and the roasted artichoke appetizer. So delicious!! The salad that I ordered was a generous portion and the dressing was great. I had a steak as my main entree and it was perfectly cooked and had amazing flavor. We skipped on dessert because we were so full and opted for a bottle of wine. The service was over-the-top. I can’t wait to visit again!
Bartletts is a true gem. Treat the staff well and they will treat you to an excellent dining experience. Personally my favorites are the spinach artichoke dip to start and the barbecue pork ribs entree. When in season, the Brazilian collard greens side is also really really good. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.
My boyfriend and I come here often. We enjoy the swiss mushroom burger and the grilled artichoke starter! The servers are all extremely friendly, knowledgeable, respectful and speedy. The atmosphere is very fancy, dark rooms with candle lit tables. Highly recommend for a family dinner or date night spot! You wont be disappointed
One of the best spots in Austin. Have been coming with the family once a week for over 15 years. The spinach artichoke dip is to die for. Some of the other favorites include, Caesar Salad(w/ cheese bread!), Asian Noodle Salad, Texas Burger (Only Sat and Sun), chicken tenders platter, french dip, 100 hr marinated steak, club sandwich, and everything else! Really there is nothing you can go wrong with here and their service is always top tier. Make sure to finish your meal with a hot fudge sunday! Bartletts is its own franchise that separated off of Houstons/Hillstone group if you are familiar. You cant go wrong here.
We just celebrated our 15 year anniversary at Bartlett’s tonight and although the food was just as delicious as always it was hard to swallow the rather glum mood of the service team along with a bill that was almost double what we would have paid pre Covid. We have been ‘regulars’ at Bartlett’s for over a decade but cannot/ will not continue to eat there with the new priced menu. Good luck Bartlett’s - you won’t miss us, but we won’t be back anytime soon.
Great service, warm, cozy atmosphere, and consistently well-prepared menu items. You wont find anything to challenge your palette here, but everything you will find will be tasty with no surprises. The service is outstanding and even on a busy night you will not wait long for your food to arrive. Selections center mostly on steaks and sandwiches with fish offerings as well. A decent selection of sides is available also. Try the grilled artichokes - delicious!
My wife and I visit here fairly regularly. Great food and a friendly staff make it simple and easy to come back. Portions are fairly large, so probably half the time we split the entree if one of us isnt really hungry. My only (minor) complaint...not the biggest fan of their brussel sprouts. But, thats just me. I recommend literally everything else.
The decor gives an delicate but relaxed ambiance, with a very nice patio for summer eves. The service staff are friendly and thorough. it gets quite busy on weekends so I would recommend making a reservation. They have great artichoke related appetizer. The French dip sandwich is delicious. The steak selections are usually properly cooked, but the pork chop is less than perfect.
I really liked this place. Foremost, it was packed for lunch, but after being told a 20 min. wait to be seated in the main dining area on a Thursday, we found seats at the bar and eat there. I had a club sandwich with tomatoes on the side was was prepared very quickly. The sandwich was better than average, I hate it when people take a classic and add their own spice to it and change it too much. This was as real club sandwich, quartered, and dressed the right way with ham, turkey, mayo, and lettuce on a toasted bun. My friend ordered a salad, which was a little pricey being north of $15. The ambiance was a little stuffy, but it was clear this restaurant know what to d o with service. It was attentive and on-point. Great lunch spot, but only for the fat wallet weeks.
I’m inbetween with it.. $17 for a glass of wine?? Come on now!.. now my favorite quote I always say is, “ there’s no price on good food”.. I had the ribeye, it’s was good, can’t lie.. but $44 for a ribeye and 1 side?.. ehhhh wasn’t worth the price to be honest... this is how I feel but the bright side.. I’ve been through worse ..
The food here is great! Classic and delicious steak house dishes with good vegetable sides, amazing burgers, fries and fish dishes. This is a bit of an upscale place for dinner so know that when youre walking in and ordering wine will add $$$ to your check. The service is usually a bit strange and have had some odd evenings here which is reason for 4 stars, but keep coming back.
Superb for more than 15 years! I started dining here, years ago when it was Houstons and its still a treat. The servers are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Theyll guide you in the right direction until you find your favorites. Mine is the salmon or the filet, but I ALWAYS get the traditional salad with buttermilk garlic dressing and grilled artichokes, if there are any left. Dont forget the key lime pie!
Wonderful place for a quiet lunch, dinner date or to teach children public table manners. The servers are delightul and attentive. The bar service is excellent and serves food as well. The bathrooms are well appointed and a joy to use. The general managers are a pleasure to deal with and serve with a smile and immediacy, should you need them. I havent had any dish I wouldnt recommend and Ive had just about everything on their menu. Their daily fish offerings are always perfect. Try their sauteed spinach and their grilled artichokes. I have been delighted with their service and food for 20 years.
This place is consistently excellent. I seriously dont know how they get such perfect tomatoes in any season. I love the spinach and artichoke dip like whoa. Other favorites are the cheeseburger, French dip sandwich or if youre feeling wealthy, the crab cakes. I love the service and atmospheric as well. Old school comfortable and intimate feel.
In my humble opinion this is the best restaurant for the money. It is not a cheap restaurant but the value is phenomenal. The food is really good. Try anything on the menu and you wont be disappointing. I eat out a lot and some restaurants are more expensive some cheaper but none as attentive to the quality and presentation of the food. A huge part of the experience here is the ambiance and lighting...sounds funny but the lighting is perfect its not in your face bright or too dark. Its over the table so you can read your menu and see your perfectly prepared food when it arrives.
Went here for a anniversary dinner, it was a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time. There is plenty of parking here as well, no need for valet and Im not even sure that they offer valet. Great atmosphere, lots of seating. The service was okay. There are a lot of options on the menu, so there is something for everyone there. The baked potato soup was the soup of the day and it was amazing, very cheesy though just a heads up. The french dip sandwich is extremely delicious. They have some great options for dessert but I did not try any. Overall great experience and I would return here.
The food and service at Bartletts is always superb. They have the best veggie burger even better than the Impossible burger. There vegetable plate is scrumptious. The vegetables are seasoned and adorned wonderfully. You will definitely not be disappointed if you visit.
This is a great family meal or married date night spot. Classy and sophisticated fare with a dark ambiance. Excellent menu and some of the best service in Austin. The French fries are worth splurging on and the prime rib is one of the best I’ve ever had. They don’t take reservations and only have a few big tables so is not be the best place for a large group outing.
I thought they may be busy so I made reservations online and it was a good choice as several people were waiting. Had the French dip sandwich and pork chop and baked potato,.... excellent. Had to only rate this experience as ok because once we placed our order it was over 30 minutes to get our food.
I have been going to Bartletts/ Houstons for several years and have always had a fantastic experience in the past. Last night I took my girlfriend for her first trip, and it wasnt a great experience. On the way to North Austin I was telling her how attentive and wonderful the service always has been, unfortunately that wasnt the case this time. After being seated at our table we were told that Natalie would be our server. We waited for 15 minutes before a waiter from another section finally came to get our drink order. After another 5-10 minutes Natalie finally showed up to our table. My girlfriend had a couple of questions about menu items and she wasnt really able to give a direct answer for them. She checked on our table a Max of three times throughout the whole evening. I wanted salt and pepper for my baked potato, but she never came back until we were finished with our entrees. As usual the House Marinated Ribye was absolutely delicious and the Roasted Chicken, and Key Lime pie were great as well.I have always felt that the prices for the quality of service and food were outstanding at Bartletts, unfortunately that wasnt the case this trip. I expect better service when paying $100 for a meal for two people. I wont be in a hurry to go back anytime soon.
Excellent food as usual, always consistent. I have been dining at Bartletts and Houstons since 1991. It is one of my favorite places to dine, however tonights server was horrible. She got our order wrong, could not refill our tea and water, charged me for a drink we didnt order and forgot to put our to go order in! Needless to say she did not get my usual 18-20% tip.
The service here was above and beyond. Better than almost anywhere else I have been in a very long time, and I have been to my fair share of nice restaurants over the years.Only reason for 4 stars is that the food, while very good, wasnt quite 5 stars for the price. Its certainly 5 stars compared to your average meal, but when you are paying premium prices the food should be flawless IMO.All the same, I was very impressed and would return again.
Came to Austin for the first time, of course I had to have a steak, and was referred here and was NOT disappointed. Ordered the Ribeye, loaded baked potato and a Caesar salad with anchovies. Everything was perfect, steak could not have been cooked more to my liking at all. Service was excellent, Dave at the bar provided excellent service. The atmosphere was great and I enjoyed my meal immensely. Will be back before I leave for sure.
Was in Austin for Fathers Day weekend and I am so glad I chose to bring my husband here! The food is absolutely phenomenal as well as the service! Possibly the best prime rib we’ve ever had! You deserve all the stars!! Oh and the dessert, apple walnut cobbler...to die for!!! Once in a great while you stumble across a food establishment done right and this one does!!
This place oozes the sweet essence of rich mahogany and fine leather. The chef could turn roadkill into a Michelin Star-worthy meal. Between the appetizer salmon and the key lime pie at the end, my heart & stomach were treated to pure happiness. Great job by all the staff in making my dream meal a reality for me and my friends.
Visted for my 23 anniversary on as recommendation from a friend. Nice interior design and ambiance, traditional wait uniforms, white shirt with black aprons. Rotating servers... Service was good in general but a little slow over all. Very efficient but not much personality.Drinks were good, great wine list. Fairly conservative menu with good selection of basic restaurant favorites. The experience was good, however, I got sick from something I ate a short time after I left. Most likely bacteria. This of course was disappointing considering the evening. Nothing like stomach sickness on your special night. So 3 stars is the best I can give. Will I return, I dont know? Trust in food quality is a real concern.
Nice setting but food a little overpriced for what it is, which is good middle of the road steaks & burgers. Ordered a medium rare burger and received well done. This was my first experience but have heard good things so Ill try again some time and provide another review...
In the restaurant business it is really hard to please everyone and with that understanding I love Bartlett‘s customer service. I had to send my drink back two Times and by the third time the bartender brought the drink himself and asked me my opinion to make sure that he got it right and that’s what I call great customer service!! No one was upset that I wasn’t pleased, they worked hard to make sure I had a great experience! The food was perfect! We ordered a New York strip and the filet! Perfect temperature perfect color and flavor! Best stakes and seafood in Austin!!!
Had a delicious burger here for my birthday. It was very busy, but the waitress was still very attentive and friendly. Everyones lunch was delicious, and they gave me a free dessert. Would highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner! It is pricey, however, so make sure youre prepared for that.
I have never, ever had a better veggie burger than the one from Bartletts. I dream about the thing. I used to go here pretty regularly for lunch when I worked in the area, but now we only drive down for special occasions. Mores the pity -- I cant get a veggie burger like theirs anywhere else in town. I dont know what magic they put in it, but its addictive. The staff are always friendly, efficient, and helpful with any questions, and the ambience is perfect. Great place!
Been here a bit more often than normal. On all of the recent visits the food and the service was awesome. On my most recent visit one of the cooks saw me and my date waiting ... leaning up near the kitchen ... and gave us a free order of fries. Which was perfect since she we were really hungry ... love the VIP 5 star treatment so they get the 5 stars from me.Update: I am a regular now. When I think about going out to eat, I think about going to other places and end up here. Consistent and delicious. Love the staff. Management is good too.
My coeliac wife loves it here. Separate gluten free menu and shes never gotten cross contaminated. Good wine list and local beers. Gets quite busy in weekends and no reservations. We take our youngish kids often and theyre well catered for. Even though the fries are a shared oil, no reaction for the kids who are gluten intolerant.
Get a reservation because this place fills up fast, especially on the weekends. Generally this place is fantastic. Good drinks, good food, great service. The only reason I give it 4 stars is due to the romantic lighting. This place is dark! Honestly I have to hold my menu up to the little candle in the middle of our table to see it. Im sure that some people enjoy that, but personally, it takes away from the night.Get the prime rib, best in Austin! This spot is perfect for a formal night out with adults (I would not recommend it for children, though I do see families there).
This place is my weak spot. Grilled artichokes are delicious, wine selection fabulous and although I almost always get their French Dip, I love falling in love with new dishes too l. Mushroom soup and my husbands favorite is the club sandwich. Hes a big guy and is always tempted to order more but often is full halfway throughIts our favorite midday lunch getaway, date night dinner destination and we even spend New Years there before.
Awesome food, a tad pricey but totally worth it. I got the steak sandwich and it was gigantic. Tasted amazing though. Our waiter was hilarious and attentive without being annoying and we appreciated him taking the time to go over the alcohol selection with us since we dont drink often and didnt know what to get.
You always get attentive and friendly service with great prime rib and steaks! Start our with the great grilled artichokes, prime rib is tender and flavorful, crab cakes if they have them is light and full of crabs. Do tend to get crowded early on the weekends, but the bar area is nice and relaxing while you wait.
Underestimated our wait time and then told us it would be twice the original time they told us because they had to prioritize reservations. Then they let a larger group who had been waiting for 10 minutes take our spot. Get your house in order Bartletts, its Saturday night rush! Also, I know its a nice restaurant, but seriously?!? Maybe keep the middle class in mind when you think of prices. Can a normal, working member of society not order high quality food that costs the equivalent of the months rent??? We arent all trust fund children you know...
This is my favorite restaurant in Austin. It is extremely consistent in terms of food and service, but when something isn’t right, they fix it; And, they are gracious about it. It’s expensive but you get value for your money. Parking is easy and plentiful. It’s a great alternative to the hassle of downtown. Last, it is nice , but not glitzy or trendy.
This is a special occasion restaurant. The food is great. The service is excellent. The prices are not cheap, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. For an evening meal definitely make reservations. You will have a memorial time for an anniversary or other big event. The steaks are top notch.
Excellent. Went here for my birthday one year.Ribeye is perfect, and the vegetable side dishes are actually pretty decent.Way too expensive for what you get, though. Better to just go to Central Market and get something nice to grill yourself.Staff is professional, friendly, and courteous.
Ive been dining here for 26 years. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, but, in my opinion, worth every penny. Ive ordered the same thing everytime. Look, its casual with a hint of fine dining. If you want to impress that special someone, without going overboard, bring them here. You wont regret it.
This place is a gem. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. The staff was very professional and courteous. The chicken salad was different and phenomenal! It paired well with my 512 Pecan Porter. My wife liked the cheeseburger and fries very much. Overall, we had a terrific experience.
I just dont understand. 20 years Ive been coming here. Not as often as i used to as we moved to Georgetown. But wow what a bummer. No specials, absolutely terrible front of house experience. Waitress was completely overwhelmed. 12 minutes after being seated what i presume was the front of house manager approached our table. Then i completely understood the ineptitude of the waitress. Table next to us received their childs food 20 minutes after we got ours they asked where their 2 entrees were. 19 minutes later they got em. I went to the bar to get my own second drink as the first was incorrect. Never would i have expected this kind of, i cant call it service because it was not. Table seated 6 minutes after ours met the waitress 10 minutes before we did. Not everyone up front was this inept otherwise no one would have eaten. I never saw our waitress deliver a single entree. Ask the bartender about the guy ordering the dirty blue goose standing at the staff end of the bar. Im 62 started in the restaurant business in 1973, this was one of my top 5 biggest numbers. So long you were so good. My guess owners, maybe new GM. Theres so much more that i could embellish on but to what end?
Great Place!Staff was super friendly and accomodating. They knew we were having dinner for a business meeting so they put us in a quieter area where there were less people. I felt that was very considerate.Food was great! I didnt try it but apparently the salad is fantastic according to the people accompaning me.Does have the feel of an upper-class, fancy restaurant but still cozy where you can meet friends for informal dinner. That probably didnt make that much sense.
Good service but very overpriced and mediocre food. The shrimp were clearly previously frozen and two were actually off - they refunded without any problem but I expected more from a $15 plate of shrimp. The dish with the sides had an ant crawling across it - again, they were very gracious in removing the charge and offering a dessert but I was surprised that a restaurant at these prices had such issues. The staff were friendly and efficient, the manager did everything he could and they had a great wine selection thats very reasonably priced. But overall I felt the food quality wasnt there for a meal that worked out at $50 per person. The next time, I think Ill start at the bar for the wine and get a couple of appetizers if Im brave.

2022-01-11Fantastic service. 90’s vibes (in a very good way). The French dip was scrumptious. Husband ordered the fish sandwich and he enjoyed it. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which we absolutely did not need, but thoroughly enjoyed ;)

2022-03-18The pork chops were just right, amazing texture and flavor. Perfect, flavorful mashed potatoes. The steak burger was a rare find. A bit odd, but i think she liked it! The drinks were also crafted well. Maitai and an old fashioned.

2022-05-23UPDATE!The Good: The food quality and flavor alone would give it 3 stars. Customer Service is King for 5 stars.Waiter stole our credit card. (Not only the CC, but he was a mess, forgot everything we asked for and our order took forever.) We called the restaurant to confirm they had our card and they did. The manager said he would mail us the card. He did not. When we called back to check on the status of our card; we were told that they would never mail a credit card to a customer. They sited security reasons.Needless to say this is a management issue. Bad service in a restaurant starts at the top.We have been going to this restaurant since it was a Bennigan’s … the food is better now than it was as a Bennigan’s but the service for the price we paid for lunch was awful. Too many good restaurants in Austin‘s to come back to this place. So sad to see a North Side establishment fall like this.UPDATE!Remember when we were told by there manager that they would never mail us our credit card? Well someone did. Not only will they steal your credit they will hold it for a week; lie to you about it’s whereabouts; then mail it to you. Wow!
