I spoke with Carmen twice about a bed I ordered online and the delivery window. Both times she was extremely unhelpful and rude. Today she has put me on hold twice while I was in mid sentence. She told me her manager called and left me a voicemail a week prior. Upon checking my voicemail and my phone records (which I had time to do while I was on hold) I found no incoming calls from Bassett and no voicemails. Perhaps he accidentally called the wrong number which would have been fine (mistakes happen no big deal) however Carmens attitude was horrible and made something that wasnt a big deal into a big deal. It would be funny how rude she was if I had not spent so much money with this store. I absolutely do not recommend this store. The only interaction I have had so far is with this person and it was horrible. I am in sales and if I treated my clients like she has treated me I wouldnt have any. Avoid the Austin Bassett Furniture store at all cost. This was such an extreme level of unprofessional behavior I am also contacting the corporate office now.
Yikes, some of the reviews on here are pretty brutal, so I was hesitant going in. I have to say now (post-purchase) that I was pleasantly surprised. After going to pretty much every furniture store in town, I ended up here at the advice of several friends who had made Basset purchases in the lsat couple of years. Im pretty picky and Basset had literally 1000 fabrics for me to choose from (of course it came as a price). Im currently building a house and decided that it was time for me to upgrade from college student furniture to adult aged and (priced!) furniture. Ive really been looking for pieces that are going to last for more than two years. This place is definitely service as theyll come out to your place to measure and help design an overall room.When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Candy. Candy asked me all the basic questions--what my style was, timeframe, color preferences, etc. and proceeded to show me a few different options. I ended up going with one of the custom build sofas (2 of them to be exact), a chair and a half, and a large storage ottoman. I used the standard grade 21 fabrics for the sofas, which put them at $1199 a piece (they had a 25% off sale), and grade 25 fabrics for the chair and ottoman ($1099 and $699 respectively. With tax, shipping ($139), and the guardsman ($249ish), i topped off at around $4900. Pricey yes, but the service was phenomenal and Im hoping for the quality to be as well!I cant attest to the delivery issues that other folks have experienced, as I just placed my order today. I will update this review once I receive my furniture.
The sofas here aren’t worth the money. Bassett sofas are actually more expensive than Ethan Allen sofas, but the quality and sales staff is completely inferior.I bought a sofa and chair from Bassett three years ago, and within days the back cushions were sagging, because they are filled with little pieces of polyester foam and aren’t structured to stay upright. We ended up replacing the sofa and kept the chair in a back room, but even though it gets little use, now the seat cushion sags, too, and the material frays and pills. Basically, you are getting a product that is similar in quality to Dillards, but you are paying double for all those fabric choices.The sales staff is completely incompetent and unhelpful, too. If you ask a question, they will always give you an answer, but it is never the same answer – either they are randomly misinformed or randomly lying. Different reps told me that the sofas have a 10 year warranty, a 7 year warranty, a 5 year warranty and a lifetime warranty. When I asked about the density of the foam in the cushions, I was told by different reps that it was 1.8 lbs, 2.2 lbs, 2.25 lbs, 2.5 lbs, and 3.1 lbs. Unbelievable.The worst thing is that once you place an order, you can’t cancel it or downgrade it. I was able to *upgrade* my order three days after placing it, but when I changed my mind - that same day - and wanted to change it back to the original, they wouldn’t allow me to do it.There seems to be universal disappointment with Bassett. Do a search on the internet and you’ll find a slew of complaints about their quality and service.
This rating is based on the Guardsman Protection Plan that Basset highly recommends and pushes on its customers. We spent nearly $500 on furniture protection and recently tried to use it for several small damaged areas caused by our young children. The cause of the damage (puncture) according to Guardsman written criteria should have been covered. Guardsman chalked it up to wear and tear and not covered. How is a puncture a wear and tear? I realize Guardsman is a seperate company but I find it hard not to place fault on Bassett for selling us this worthless package. I also blame myself for not doing more research before dropping so much money on the protection plan -- this seems to be the common theme with Guardsman. I would strongly recommend not getting the protection program if youre considering it.
Delivery was quick and flawless - the white glove treatment. My salesperson, Maggie was good - very thorough, not pushy at all. Bassett has a better selection of furniture, better quality of furniture than I expected.
Great pieces... with a price to go with it. very interested in the furniture, but the price doesnt allow me to purchase. if its in your budget, this is the place to look for modern, traditional and transitional pieces. staff is good. they follow protocol but not always all that convincing.
I felt the customer service was bad, i was not really dressed up with a messy bun. But i am still your customer. We did not get our sofa from here. I gave 2 stars because they had some good pieces and big empty parking lot.
From beginning to end the customer service and follow up by salesperson and management was superior. There was a problem with my order ( not due to store) and everyone worked to get it resolved. Very professional service and great quality of product! Candy was excellent in helping me choose the perfect chair and fabric!

Cant speak about the furniture, but the salespeople wouldnt give me the time of day. There were only a few other people in the store, and they were eager to help them, but not me for some reason.
I bought my 4 poster bed from here, everyone who comes over loves it!!! had it for over 5 years and still in great shape and great quality!!!! cant beat it for the price!!!!

Ask for Terry when you walk in the door! She is the most responsive, thoughtful, and patient salesperson in Austin. I mustve tried 8 different Bassett couches on (no joke) 5 different visits, bringing friends and aunts...everything I looked at was on sale. Terry was so helpful, talking me through considerations, never treating me differently because I was looking for a deal, and actually walking away and giving us space when needed. Honestly, I went to Four Hands, Shanks, Crate & Barrel, etc, etc, and shes the reason I bought at Bassett. (Yes, the couch is incredibly comfy and gets compliments from guests.) She treated me like a whole human, took photos of rugs, and just exemplifies customer service. A true pleasure to work with her!

2022-02-05I hate to say I will no longer purchase furniture through Bassett. My past history was great customer service and nicely made furniture. My previous home was outfitted with Bassett furniture. My new home I recently ordered new furniture. I had an issue with one of the lamps arrived broken and damaged shade. I made several callers to customer service, and they claimed I will receive a call back. The last time the call was escalated and still not return call in 4 week. Well I going to crescent house to outfit the rest of my home.John M. Christner-Drake

2021-10-18Ive had furniture from Bassett for about 10 years now. They have been holding up well. One of the sectional sofas has pull handles that are used to recline the different sections. I needed to replace a couple of those handles, so I called customer service. Krista helped me and was extremely helpful with getting the right parts I needed for my sofa. She was very responsive to my emails and even followed up afterward to make sure everything was working properly again. Customer service is excellent at Bassett. Thank you, Krista.

2021-12-07We purchased our custom made sofa in April and received it in July. I couldnt wait to get it delivered and finish my revamp my living room! We received our rugs in no time and since my big rug is waiting to be laid with my new couch, Bassett team said theyd help with both.Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable and fun and... Im just so happy I shopped around and found what I needed and for a great price at Bassett!It was a long wait, but shorter wait than many other furniture places! I know that if there is a problem, Ill be taken care of to resolve it. I just wish it didnt take so long to get the furniture.

2020-09-28We had a wonderful experience with shopping at Bassett. Although we haven’t received our furniture yet (which we had anticipated with ordering custom made furniture and during Covid with factories working at lower capacity) we had the best assistance from our associate, Becky B. We never felt rushed, she was very helpful in explaining all our options from fabrics to cushions to finishes and she even pointed out we could receive a discount because my husband’s a veteran! Becky B. has kept in contact with us regarding the status of our order and has answered any questions we’ve had. We picked Bassett for their quality furniture and we most definitely found that their customer service was top quality as well. Thank you Becky B. for all your help with decorating our first home!!! We will definitely return for our future furniture needs.

2021-08-24What a great experience! No thanks to our movers, a piece was missing from our bed frame. The mover’s response was to use packing tape to hold things together. I called Basset and was introduced to Krista Zimmerman, who took what little information I had and with her team, tracked down the part!Thank you Krista and team!

2021-04-11We purchased a living room couch that took a long time to get it delivered. Once paid in advance as required and couch came in and it made loud noises. After several email attempts, phone calls, 10 days later a service gentleman came in to repair it. After several hours, he found 2 long screws that had not been completely screwed in. After 2 days, we barely used it, one side does not recline. The motor on the other side works, and no loud banging. I swear we have no kids/pets and have used it maybe a handful of times and it feels like a lemon. The store of course hasnt responded yet, but I can honestly say I do not recommend Bassett Furniture. The customer service, attitude and quality is awful, and I am putting it nicely.

2020-08-30Sabrina has been more than helpful both times Ive been in the Austin store. I stopped by to get some idea after purchasing a new home and she sat down with me to get an understanding of my unique space and guide me to pieces she thought would work well. I got lucky and she was between appointments. The ability to choose so many options is what puts Bassett above many other furniture stores.

2020-09-15I bought a bassett nightstandon line on 8-4-20 from the Austin Bassett Store and received it on 8-20-20. The drawers would not open but 8 inches, not enough to put in and take items out. A tech came out on 9-1-20 and said he could not fix with out damaging the drawers and maybe the cabinet. He said he would turn in a report. I have emailed twice and called three times and cannot get a response.

2018-04-18The in store experience was great and Sabrina (who helps us during several visits) was both patient and attentive while we refined our choices of style/color/etc. Were waiting for the furniture to arrive, but so far it seems Bassett had equal quality and equal/greater options than EA/PB/C&B/etc. along with comparable pricing.
