Ive used 3 local vet offices and this was by far the best experience and they fit me in last minute. My boy was scared and the vet tech was so great. Hes a pit mix and she wasnt fearful of him which I appreciate. Front desk staff was kind and helpful. Would recommend.
This hospital is NOT what it used to be. All they care about now is money. The receptionists are rude, they are severely over staffed and dont care about their patients! I have photos of my dog Guera who broke her paw, they charged 138 2x weekly for new bandages and didnt even apply them correctly! These bandages have been applied incorrectly TWO out of the THREE times they have been changed! The first time the bandages were applied wrong my dog got tangled in a blanket and fell to the ground! This most recent time her splint and bandages were hanging off her leg!! I called to have it fixed and they said they would charge me another $138 for bandages that are supposed to last! If I could give one star I would! These people do not care for your animals the same way the old Dr. did. We have gone to this hospital for over 15 years and the fact that it has gone this far downhill is sad.
I am very impressed with Dr. Christensen and his staff. I was kittysitting my daughters kitten and older cat when the kitten, Loki, learned how to jump onto the counters for the first time. Luckily I saw him, but before I could get to him, he swallowed part of a leaf from a houseplant. I looked up the plant and found it was toxic to cats. My daughter has taken her pets to Dr. C for years so I called his office. The woman who answered the phone listened to the problem, put me on hold for a moment, and the next thing I knew, Dr. C was on the phone! He told me to take the kitten to my vet (Im an hour away from Dr. C) to have the kitten throw up the plant (which I did, of course). Loki recovered wonderfully and is still the happy, playful, and highly curious little kitten as before. I am very thankful to Dr. C for responding immediately and personally. My daughter is right: Dr. Christensen and his staff truly do care!
So I took my little chihuahua for his first vet appointment yesterday, and my husband and I both agreed this is the place well continue to take him. The staff were very nice, the front desk ladies were sweet and had personality and handled confrontation really well (an ugly person came in..and was being extremely rude to one of the ladies but the lady kept her cool and remained professional. ) The wait to be seen was a little longer than what I was hoping for..but the care that the nice girls who assisted the vet who were sweet and the vet himself made up for it. They treated my dog with kindness, and they didnt make me feel dumb or like I was annoying them when I was asking questions about my dog and financial things. The vet listened to everything I told him, didnt rush me, actually communicated with me, and explained everything in a way we could easily understand. He also was quick with a diagnosis and getting something done for my dog. We really liked him. The women that assisted him and did all the testing and shots for my dog treated us with respect and didnt act like they would rather do literally anything else. They took care of him really quick, maybe 5 minutes to do everything. The only issue I had was I wasnt told any results when I was there, so after we left and got home I called up there and asked about them..and the nice lady put me on hold for maybe 30 seconds and came back and sounded really happy and told me my dog was negative for what he was tested for. We even had a little laugh in the process. As somebody who has never had to take a pet to the vet alone (I had my husband but you get it), they made the process very easy for me and made a very good impression. They made us along with my dog very comfortable. We will continue to keep coming back and Id definitely recommend this place! Oh, and I cant forget the prices! They were extremely affordable and didnt try to do things or charge for anything extra that wasnt needed.
My cat, Penelope, and I had a pleasant, comfortable experience when she required a little attention from a caring veterinarian. Dr. Smith was very attentive, professional and Penelope feels much better.Their fee structure is also very reasonable, and new clients were welcome as well.
I had been going to Baytown Animal Hospital for 15+ yrs. And Dr Christiansen would be so disappointed in what it has become. They are over staffed and over priced now. They still have a few good people, (Lacey and Candance), but for the most part they have gone down hill. Shannon at the front is unknowledgeable. If she doesn’t know, instead of asking, comes to her own conclusions. She should not be working there. And the office manager Mathew is rude, and belittles Alverez behind his back. He stated Alverez is very uncomfortable with situations, and his feelings get hurt easily. He makes Alverez seem like an incompetent fool. He also lies and bad mouths other clinics around the area. Stated he “researched” them and they are horrible vets. At some point he will get caught and that is slander. He should be fired. Doc Christiansen never would have turned it over to him, if he knew what it has turned into. They even took all his pics down. They are a huge disappointment, and I would not recommend them.
Hands down best Dr. Called on a Friday morning due to my fur baby acting like she might have had a uti .Only to find out she had pyometra an infection of the uterus. Took her right in and prepped for emergency surgery. Doctor called personality after surgery and once before leaving for the evening at 7;30.Highly recommended.
This place is absolutely amazing, I have taken my animals here for the last 7 years. I have been through everything with them and they always treat me and my animals like family. If you are looking for a forever vet this is your place. From the ladies in the front to the techs and doctor they are top notch!
I returned some medication that was left over after my dog passed away and was expecting them to cut me a check since I spent the money....and they won’t refund my money. They are keeping it in my account which I have no other pets. It’s absolutely ridiculous. All this Dr cares about is money....they always overbook and over charge on everything. Not good practice at all. I was also told I could donate my credit to someone in need! I’m in need!!! In need of my 100.00 that I spent and owed. So stupid.
On the Tuesday after Labor Day, my 2 yr old cat Binx started acting weird and make squeaker toy like noises. He looked so sad and tired. I have never seen a Vet in Baytown. So I Googled and this one came up. I didnt think to call and was a walkin. It took a while to fit me in but they did. The staff was so nice and so were their clients. My cat ended up have to stay about 24hrs and they fixed him all up and made sure I knew what to do when I took him home and got me set up with new foods that will help prevent hopefully having to go through this again. I was thankful to have Care Credit also. I would definitely recommend them for your reg pet needs and your emergency ones. They even have after life care. Which is good to know. Def give them a visit.
Dr. Christensen and his staff are outstanding. He has been caring for our animals for over 10 years, and I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.Recently, we had to put our eldest cat down, and by the next day, Dr. Christensen sent a floral arrangement and a paw print to us. I was so touched by his thoughtfulness to where I feel the need to share how great and compassionate this team is.
By far the best veterinarian clinic I’ve ever been to. Dr. Christensen is a very loving and caring individual he knows our pets and is always very happy to see them. This place is great, the receptionists know us by name when we come in and are always very friendly. The environment is top notch, the care is top notch, and the prices are very reasonable. They even offer a military discount!Every time we come in they’re always looking for help.... it’s constantly busy but you can make an appointment. The care and consideration from Dr. Christensen is well worth the wait.If you have photos of your pets they put them on a board in the lobby...You won’t find a better veterinarian with a friendly staff than this place.
The whole staff was extremely kind and helpful taking care of my cat who was hit by a car today. Everyone was amazing from the front desk staff, the Dr, techs and everyone that I came in contact with start to finish. My kitty is doing great and recovering comfortably tonight thanks to them.
This place is better than PetSmart and Petco when it comes to nails. The workers here are professional and nice! It took them 5 minutes to trim my medium sized dogs nails. I spent 20 minutes in this building, I went in and came right back out with a happy dog.I didnt hear my dog scream when he got his nails trimmed over here, so I am definitely coming back to spend my money.
Today was our first visit. I was a little hesitant to take my dog here because I normally take him to Houston. I decided to bring him here anyway after reading the reviews. Im very glad I did. The front office staff were wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming. Very caring. The assistant and Dr. Christensen were also very friendly and handled my dog with care. Dr. Christensen was very knowledgeable and taught me a few things to ensure my dogs safety. The prices were reasonable as well. I think weve found a new doctor!
Love it here..the only issue I have is that some of the front staff (not all) will be on the phone while you stand there with no acknowledgment that you are there in front of them. For new comers an please be seated while we wait for the Dr/dog or to check you out would be helpful.
Nice friendly staff and always validates what I would like to be taken care for my dog and recommends anything that might be needed for awareness. this is usually my go to place to take my dog on the weekends for shots cause it is convenient on weekends. I would recommend this team for the care of your pet.
Yesterday we went in with our German Shepherd who was not feeling good at all. He had a fever and loss of appetite for two days. The nurses were very patient and the veterinarian prescribed him just what he needed to feel better. After 12 hours he is feeling much better and is starting to play around and eat more. We are so great-full for such a caring staff and amazing doctor. We 110% recommend it!
All I can say is wow! The doctor and staff are nothing short of amazing. Our first visit with them was not a happy one. We took our beloved dog in to be euthanized after she became ill, weak, and stopped eating. We are new to the area and had not yet established with a vet locally. Taking her on the 2 hour drive to her previous vet was not an option with how much she was suffering. Unfamiliar to us, and Daisy, they took their time with her and our family as we said our final goodbyes. We already discussed making Baytown Animal Hospital our new vet for our other animals but their act of kindness that was received today ensured that we will not seek services from anyone else. Their compassion and empathy is sincere and I would highly recommend them.
I went there last month. He took real care of my cat and hes been taking care of all of our animals for a long time. He ONLY charges what the animal needs at the time. He never gives extra unnecessary tests. Hes honest and sincere. Yes, the medicine is little pricey, but he charges a lot less than some veterinarians I have been to. As you know medical care for animals has gone up like our healthcare cost. Simply. Hes a great and awesome Veterinarian.
I brought my Dog to the clinic this past Saturday. It was discovered that she had massive tumor on her spleen and it was causing her pain. I had to make the hard decision to put her down. She has been with us for over 13 years. They were so caring and took care of us in the privacy of the exam room. I came home today from running errands and we had flowers on our porch. I open the card and it was from Baytown Animal Hospital.I appreciate everything they have done for us. Thanks for caring. If I ever get another family fur member, we will be going back to this great & caring Hospital.
I have been bringing my four pets here for years. Dr. Christensen, the staff, and facility have always given above excellent service to me and my pets. They are like family to me. I have moved and still drive all the way over to see them. Front desk is ALWAYS super sweet even at their busiest! They have great customer service and my fur-babies love it there! I recommend this vet to all my friends and family. Thank you for all that you do!
Our dogs have gone here all their lives and my mom has have many dogs that went here before I was even born. We genuinely trust this vet wholeheartedly. Recently we had to put one of our family dogs down at the age of 15 due to her having cancer and being in extreme pain because of it despite being in near perfect health her whole life (unlike typical dogs of her breed) and exceeding her life expectancy significantly. And despite the obviously horrible nature of this event Dr. Christensen and the nurse helping him made sure we were okay and that our dog Angel was comfortable in her last moments. Christensen genuinely cares for and loves the animals he sees, doing his best for all his patients and their families. I highly recommend bringing your pets here you wont regret it. :)(I know its sad but the attached photo is the last picture of our dog Angel taken before she passed)
Hes honestly the best and does a fantastic jobs helping my baby feel better. She didnt have an appetite to eat, we took her back there and he seen her even gave her stuff to give her an appetite.Would recommend him and his staff is amazing theyre so friendly and so sweet !
Baytown Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to take your pets to. Dr. Christensen and his staff truly care about the health and wellbeing of animals. They work very hard to ensure that all your pets needs are met. I would recommend you trust Dr. Christensen with your pets life.
Took my dog here for bloody stool. The office staff was very friendly. They got us in quickly. They explained what they were going to do while we were in the office and also took the time to clearly explain the medicine they sent us home with. The price seemed quite fair (much cheaper than other vets Ive been to). All in all, Im extremely happy with this vet and I will return if my dog has another serious problem.
Truly amazing. Theyve helped me so many times. Always friendly, open, and softspoken (it reminds me of a nurse with a good bedside). The prices are really well manageable too. Recently I had a huge scare, almost lost one of my kitters.. I was back and forth constantly. He referred us to a friend who could do the emergency surgery needed last minute, and saved my boy. All the staff were so genuinely concerned for him and overjoyed when I brought him in afterwards. To know that they all truly care so much about the pets they see.. I was already loyal to them.. I dont know how anyone could get MORE loyal after seeing that.
The best vet around! Always looking out for the pets best interest. He has the sweeties staff very polite and knowledgeable. My husband kris and I love them. If you are looking for a great vet thats concerned about your pet more than your money he is the right choice.
The entire staff welcomed my new puppy, Charlotte, and I with open arms. They gave answers to questions that werent even asked and the questions I did ask were so well explained I can explain the problems to others. She recieved so much love care and treatment I would of gladly paid more than the extremely fair price they charged me. She is going to have a better life because of this vet and his team.l!
The VERY BEST vet in Baytown and the surrounding area. I have taken my sweet angels to Dr. C for decades; the whole staff are professional, caring, thoughtful and intelligent. Its hard to find a place where you are totally happy and know your fur babies will get the best of care. We moved and we still drive to Baytown for the top notch service we receive. Also, when my husband takes the girls to the vet, Dr. C always tells him to tell me hello and he uses my name every single time, thats not common place anymore.Thank you Dr. C and staff for always making me and my girls feel so special.
I have a cat. Dont ask me why but I have a rescue cat. Hes great and fixed but gets into trouble. Dr. Christianson (sp) was great. He treated my cat for an injure but further advised me to see a specialist just to be safe. The specialist said the exact regiment your vet has your cat on is perfect. I will be bringing all of my animals here as long as possible.
I actually love the vet and vet staff but giving it 3 stars because the front desk receptionist has always been incredibly rude every time I go for the past year. I never come in with a disrespectful tone or attitude but I always get awful customer service from her. I think her name is Cara.
Dr. Christensen is an ideal Vet, he is very prudent and straightforward about the animals brought to him. My wife and I have regularly brought our maltese dogs to him for routine checkups as well as medical emergencies. He is equipped with staff who are both compassionate as well as dilligent. Were it not for them, our pets lives would have been lost at one point. I recommend him to anyone looking to place their pets in the hands of a loving doctor who wants the best for them.
I have lived in Humble,Dayton and now Deerpark. No matter where I live I drive the distance to take my furr babies to Dr. C. He is the best. Not only is he great but all of his receptionists are great as well. Always so welcoming when you walk in. I have never had an issue. My mom has been going to him since the early 90s. I remember going there as a kid with our dogs and now I take my own furr babies. :)
The vet doc is so kind and understanding...he listens to owners of pets who have questions and answers them so they understand what he is saying....I love the clinic...employees are kind and very helpful in taking ur pet out, if their is a problem and we cant do it...great place
This clinic does NOT honor Internet prescription orders. I bought 10 tablets of 75mg Deramaxx. After using them all up. I was going to buy more online because of being cheaper in price. A 30 tablet supply cost $93+ at this clinic. I found the same thing online for $66+. I was given a $15 rebate to use for a future purchase of the 30 tablet supply which is still higher than the online price. ($93 - $15 = $78 compared to $66). I under the need to make a profit but this is price gouging to me. Low income people should have access to lower priced medications for their pets. I thought it was all about the animal. Apparently not. Its about draining peoples money based on their emotional circumstance. A monopoly.
My beloved Trixie died at this vets after taking Trifexis for heart worms. She suffered so much and was left alone in crisis. I wish they would tell me how to heal the hole in my heart and the emptiness in my home. She was a true therapy dog and our bond was so strong. She is now gone simply because no one warned me about Trifexis. I am still crying and have been since Dec 2, 2015.Oh yes Ive used the vet for years and years and I never suspected anything like this would ever happen and then no one talk to me about it.
Im low income and raising 2 teenage girls by myself and having to pay $ 44,50 for the vet to tell me that I need to take our cat to an orthopedic vet is ridiculous. This all took 5 minutes of his time. Greed is not how to help somebody whos actually could have return business. Ill take my business elsewhere.

2022-04-11Moved here from Chicago and I didnt know who to trust or where to take my dog. For those reasons my dog had an extreme emergency and they took REALLY GREAT CARE of my dog. They quoted me one price but it was much lower when my dog was finished, Honest and Friendly service. The service was quick, fast, affordable and I was able to walk right in and to the back.I am so happy we found this place and they Groom dogs too, OMG!!!!!!

2022-07-17Came here for the first time to have my elderly dog put down. They gave us a private room and were very compassionate towards me and gave me the facts I needed to hear. So I can be the pet parent I can be. I highly recommend this place and will come for services for my other dog.

2022-05-08This facility had done nothing but go down hill on a personal note since Doc passed away. I stayed to give them a chance to see how well they treated our kids. Started off good but then realized some of the staff was gone, which was a bummer since Jay Lynn was one of them. One of our last visit the tech literally pulled my kid to the room. He is never the one to pull. He is always happy to go. It does not feel as personal as it did before. I called in spray for our Bulldogs hot spot. We spotted it and was calling as soon as they open. I get a call back and said that he will need to see the vet first. Did not understand why just to get a spray he has had and just ran out. We already knew what he needed. Went in to the clinic they told me it needed approval...ok then. Well both Vets where not in the clinic and they close at 12 and not open on Sunday. I told them so he is going to have to go 3 DAYS of untreated HOT SPOT. If you have a bulldog you understand, this is not something to let go and WAIT.

2022-06-17Place went down hill since new veterinarian took over, losing all the old amazing staff that was there is reflective of this. They do appointments but the customer waits longer then when Dr.Christensen owned it without appointment setting. They make it feel extremely corporate(Cold, emotionless), and the price has sky rocketed steadily since the new ownership. We been coming for years, but the heart left with Dr. Christensen and now its about the almighty dollar.

2022-04-22Had an appointment for my 2 cats. Minimal wait in lobby. A team came into the examination room and focused on my cats. Once the preliminary was completed the Dr arrived and finished the evaluation for the annual visit. Extremely satisfied.

2021-04-28I loved bringing my kittens to this vets office for their first vet visit. The whole experience was easy and friendly. From scheduling the appointment to the ladies at the front desk to Dr. Alvarez and his assistants. They were all very friendly and welcoming, answered all of my questions and are reasonably priced. I will definitely recommend this vets office to anyone I know looking for a place to take their fur babies.

2022-05-12Yesterday was a difficult day that was made worst by the way the vet handled things. Lucy wouldn’t come out of her kennel and wouldn’t walk yesterday morning. She was taken to the vet. He didn’t know what to make of her condition so advised 24 hour hydration and antibiotics. She had elevated liver enzymes and sludge in her gallbladder, but nothing to explain the neurological problems. She could’ve had a stroke? We agreed to the $1500 charge for 24 hour overnight fluids and antibiotics. By 4:00pm I received a call from the vet himself that she was declining. We decided to go see her and let her go. We planned to go see her at 5:30pm. I received another call from the vet himself around 4:45pm that she may not make it until 5:30pm., and he told me that he would come back between 6:30-7 to put her to sleep. We rushed to her side. While there the vet tech, Kade, was amazing. Lucy was declining and was starting to have mild seizures. We signed all of the papers to euthanize and cremate. We were told again that we would receive a call from the vet himself when she was at rest and once that happened we would receive an email from the crematorium. We waited until 8:30-9:00pm and then returned to the vet where the vet tech apologized and told us it was done around 6:30pm. That the vet just came in and did it and left. No call. No nothing. We had been told we couldn’t be there becuz it was after hours, so we understood, maybe that was for the best we thought. So we trusted this vet, and he broke that trust. I checked my email and I had received an email from the crematorium at 7:00pm.This morning I received a call from the vet and he stated he put Lucy to sleep and she went peacefully and that he had tried to call my son, it rang twice and went to voicemail. He said and then tried a few hours later and again voicemail. I asked why he didn’t call me and his answer was, “I thought maybe y’all were dealing with it the best you could and didn’t want to talk.” I explained that this was unacceptable and very disappointing as we have been customers for years and when our vet passed away and he took over, there were bad reviews about him, but we were willing to give him a chance to disprove those reviews. HE FAILED TO DO SO. And I told him that. He then told me not to worry about paying the remainder of the bill. I am seriously at a loss for words. Baytown Animal Hospital is just not the same and Dr. Alvarez, in my opinion, is careless and not truthful. I will never put my animal’s lives in his care again. And they were voted best vet in Baytown? Wow, just sadOnce I get my feelings in order, I plan on contacting the appropriate people and review services to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else. No one should have to sit and wait for hours wondering if their pet is still suffering or at peace.Rest In Peace Lucy.

2022-08-24Very compassionate staff, gave me all the info needed to make the best informed decision i could for my pup. Did not feel rushed at any point, they went above and beyond given the situation.
