Tried this one again 6/14/22. It’s been a year and at that time it was over priced and not as informative about my new puppy as I think they should have been. It took 3 weeks to get my sick puppy in to see the vet last year. Two issues….This year my puppy is now a year old and her brother was sick so I decided to try them again. The wait time was decent this time got them both in after a couple of days. I had to take the sick dog to the emergency clinic on Saturday and followed up with Bedford Oaks on Monday. First issue…. The appointment was at 10:20 and finally saw a vet at 11:00. 40 minute wait with 2 dogs is not a good visit to start with. I felt the exam was rushed due to the long wait and the dogs wanting to get out of there. She did inform us that the upper respiratory infection that the older dog has is contagious. (Which the emergency clinic didn’t tell us) that evening the younger dog started coughing just like the older dog. I called Bedford Oaks to inform them the other dog has it now and ask that she gets some medicine. They said ok but it would be from 24 to 48 hours before the medicine would be ready to pick up. That’s where the second issue is at. My dog is coughing and running a fever and it’s not acceptable for her veterinarian to have her wait 2 days to get her medicine started.Needless to say I’m still disappointed ☹️Sure miss Dr. Rowe…😩
Updated June 2022 review - I switched my guinea pigs to this practice, and overall Im pretty pleased. Unfortunately Ive had to take my gpigs here a few more times, but Dr Edgar and the techs are always kind/loving with them. My pigs never get too scared (considering some arent used to being handled) while theyre here.April 2022 review: I usually see a different vet for my guinea pigs, but they were able to get me in same day when others couldnt, for what was technically a guinea pig emergency (not eating). Usually Im hesitant to use different doctors as not all vets are built equally when it comes to exotics knowledge. I am grateful Dr Edgar was there to help us and make me feel comfortable that my pig was in good hands. I also appreciate how thorough she was, especially with my pigs rads - she even pointed out a little bit of arthritis developing in his back legs.I will definitely add her to my mental list of vets to recommend for gpig owners. As for the clinic itself, I had about the longest vet visit of my life. I was there for about 2 hours, mostly waiting around. Im no stranger to numerous pig illnesses, and usually spend an hour for a typical vet visit. There was also only one person working reception who could definitely use help on the phones, even tho the clinic wasnt busy inside. Having someone else to work with at the front of the clinic is always a big help!As for cost, other reviews complain the prices are high. As someone who works in a vet clinic and has been to a lot of others, I find the prices to be reasonable/average. The exam fee for exotics is typical for the area ($85) and the price for rads was much cheaper than where I work.
This was our first visit. I was immediately struck by how clean, open and friendly the office was. We were greeted right away and waited a very few minutes before taken back to an exam room. Dr Madison came in right away. She was very good with our cat. She explained everything to us and left us with no questions. This is definately our new animal clilnic.
My dog had lipoma surgery and they didnt prescribe any antibiotics. The vet said they try not to. He was just sent home with pain medicine. Rechecking him one week post up the vet tells me he has a mild infection and he needs antibiotics which cost $130 they should have been prescribed the day of my dog surgery. I tell her thats too much for me to afford and lo and behold they have antibiotics which were only $30 I dont appreciate giving me the more expensive antibiotics when they do the exact same thing as the less expensive ones which should have been prescribed the day of surgery.
I brought in a stray cat and was looked at with judgement for taking in this cat. I had to ask a bunch of basic questions that should have already been answered when they brought her back to me.... like how old she was, if she was a healthy weight, any visible issues to be concerned about, etc... they didnt ask about the appetite she had while in my care, I had to offer that information, nor did they mention she had ear mites, when its clear as day she has them. Most vets, in my experience, do the exams needed in front of you and talk to you while doing so, however, they took her away from someone shes just adjusting to, to do all the exams. When I was given her rabies vaccination, I noticed all my information that I had given over the phone was all incorrect after the receptionist I spoke to, repeated everything back correctly... I also had to remind them when I was checking out that I still needed to pay for her visit.
My experience here was horrible, I took my baby in for throwing up well Jones the vet and a ER vet was there said my baby had Cancer because of the large fatty growth down by her breast that Dr. Rowe and been checking on for years nothing but fatty tissue! They said it neede to be removed. They scared me and charged me for unnecessary blood work. Gave her nothing for her tummy she got well on her on. I took her to real vet she had the lump removed others aspirated. And None was CANCER she was also spayed and is doing great! They were all wrong and the ER vet bet her pay check it was cancer! She owrs me her pay check. These people dont know what there doing find another vet these people only interested in $$$$!
Had to change my review because it turns out the vet/vet tech took terrible notes and put them in my dogs chart. They charged me $62 for a probiotic that contains animal proteins of which my dog is allergic too. Had they written down everything I told them in person and had they known the ingredients of the probiotic then maybe this wouldn’t have happened. His eye swelled up and he broke out around his chin. I took the probiotics back in person when I picked up his other medication. I haven’t received a phone call or email and definitely not a refund. Veterinary services are medical services… if I’m paying $65 for my dog to see a vet for 10 minutes where the vet doesn’t even touch him… at the very least they ought to take down the correct information for charting. As a matter of fact this is the second time something like this has happened.
Ive been coming here since I was a little girl with my first dog. Its very affordable. Thats what I think I love most. Having my animals looked at doesnt run me up too crazy of a bill. Dr. Rowe is one of the best vets around. But now that shes retiring, were not sure what to do with ourselves.
Before I get started I want to assure any of the other families that have been going here that even though Dr. Rowe has retired and they have moved, this is still the same caring vet you have come to know and love!I wish I could give this vet infinite stars. My family has been going to them with our dogs for a couple of years (if I had to guess Id say somewhere around 10!) and we have never once had a bad experience. They have our complete trust and respect for everything they have done for us, and everything they continue to do. Every single member of the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Most recently they helped me with my pug, who had to have his eye removed. Throughout the whole process we were called and updated on his condition, which really helped to ease our nerves about the whole thing.I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for our family, it is greatly appreciated. I cant even put it into words. We are so lucky to have such a great vet near us.
I wanted to change vets shopping around I came across them . We went Monday and they did everything, shots, blood tests, heart-worm and now the even had a shot for 12months heart worm protection which is wonderful for me my dog will not take pils. Bloods test results came back today, all is well and we are very happy with our choice for a vet.
Ive been very happy with Bedford Oaks since changing to them a few years back. I was happy with their service when they were at their old location, but it was getting kind of dingy. The new clinic is just that, all new everything, very comfortable & clean. Their new vet, Dr Jones is very nice & seems very knowledgeable, same goes for her technician, Brooke & all the staff I encountered. Thank you all, see you soon.
Dr. Jones diagnosis and prescriptions improved our schnauzers quality of life immeasurably in very short time. We were concerned that his issues were due only to his age, but after our initial visit, we were thrilled to have our dog acting like a kid again and enjoying life. We are very happy to have Dr. Jones and her staff close by in Bedford.
Wow! I wish I would have found this place sooner. The staff is excellent and friendly. Dr. Rowe is through and practical in her approach, and doesn’t push unnecessary medications and tests. My sick cat has been under another vets care for 4 years with no improvement, and the explanations and expertise Dr. Rowe had when developing a plan to get her health on track were fantastic. I immediately felt comfortable with her and that she has my pets best interest at stake. I will be taking all 3 of my fur children here going forward. Also, super affordable, they care about the animals and not about the money. *sigh of relief
Asked for the doctor to check our dogs ears during her yearly checkup, as she had been shaking her head more than usual.. The head veterinarian doing the evaluation takes a swab of her ears on a q-tip and says hes gonna take a look in the back. And 10 min later the asst veterinarian comes in with a bag of ear medicine and the receipt with the checkup. Im completely shocked that i was charged for the testing of the q-tip without being consulted on what exactly was taking place or the cost, same with the medicine that was assumed i was going to purchase (i more than likely would have if it was needed) but i wasnt even given an explanation from the lead veterinarian what exactly he saw or what caused or could prevent it in the future..no discussion on by the way it will cost this;heres what we found after running the test; would you like to purchase this, its X amount..its like getting an oil change and asking to check a leak and the mechanic comes back with a bill for a new oil pan assuming the work was going to be approved anyway by the customer. Have some respect for your guests and inform them of costs and procedures. Felt lost in the dark for the money i spend there
Edit: Dr. Rowe sold her practice and retired. It is now a corporate business under the same name. The location is moved into a brand new buying with all new staff and vets. Dr. Rowe has earned her retirement.Dr Rowe has been a great vet for a number of decades. I have been badly treated by vets in the past and her loving treatment of my pets, conscientious education of me and common sense approach to pet care has gone a long way to heal that. She doesnt charge as much as other vets because you are not funding her luxury lifestyle. She is in the same office she has been in forever, not driving a luxury vehicle, etc. She listens to her customers and respects their decisions regarding their four legged family members. I trust her more than any vet I have ever hired.
First off when I went there they sent me an email to go to their old building. Secondly they were dishonest and literally 25 days after seeing them they were telling me to come in for another appointment. They are so disorganized. I brought in my dogs full record. They said they only needed the vaccine record yet I had to pull two more additional documents out later. I don’t know why they don’t Take full file to begin with. They are clearly in it for the money and doing as little work as possible for the money. Worst vet experience ever.
Today was my first visit to Bedford Oaks and I could not be more impressed with Dr. Rowe and her staff. Dr. Rowe took time out of her busy schedule to ease my concerns and educate me about my dogs needs. She also took measures to save me a considerable amount of money without diminishing the level of care she and her team could provide. Her staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. After relocating to Bedford, I am happy to say that Ive found the PERFECT vet clinic for my pets needs!I commend Dr. Rowe and her team for serving pets and their owners with high standards, ethics, and true compassion.
Id like to start by saying that Dr. Rowe is an incredible person and a wonderful vet that we have been bringing our animals to for over 12 years. Unfortunately as of late, whoever it is that answers their phone has been rude to both my wife and I on multiple occasions. This is to say, when they even answer the phone. They ask that you call in advance for things such as heartworm medication, yet I called for almost 10 days straight and each day I would get no response. Most recently I called to try to schedule and appointment because my dog is having issues drinking water which is obviously vital to any animal or human. We were greeted with less than stellar behavior and an opportunity for an appointment 5 days out. While I can understand they are busy, the behavior I get when dealing with someone over the phone isnt appreciated. I know this is not how Dr. Rowe handles business and I hate that its come to the point that I would rather take my animals elsewhere.
Dr. Rowe has been taking care of our family pets for over a decade. We have lived all over the metroplex, but the drive back to her is worth it every time. They dont charge for unnecessary services, and Dr. Rowe will personally call or talk to you herself to answer questions and inform you of her findings. Weve had dogs with her from puppies to the end of their lives, and the staff and treatment are caring, efficient, and just overall excellent every single time.
I have been going to Dr Rowe for about 20 years and can not say enough great things about her. She is reasonably priced, and the way she has cared for all of our pets is amazing. The only thing I wish is that even though they dont take new appts on Saturdays, I wish you could leave a voicemail if you have an emergency. I recommend her to everyone I know looking for a vet.
Dr. Rowe has been our vet for over 13 years with the exception of cases when weve had to rush some of them to an emergency vet. Ive read some older reviews complaining about staff, or the clinic not taking new patients.Dr. Rowe has relatively new staff that I personally think are great. I dont think you can fault a vet for not taking on new clients if they cant accomodate any more patients, but I think she does take new patients now.Ive never had a better vet. Weve lost a few of our pets over the many years to unavoidable heath issues like cancer; old age; etc., but Dr. Rowe and her staff are very compassionate and professional. They make a tough decision to put a pet to sleep easier when it eases the pain and torment of your loved ones. I consider myself lucky to have Dr. Rowe and her staff for our family.
Dr. Rowe always charges fair prices and doesnt nickel and dime you for services. Ive been taking my dog to her for years. I love the complimentary nail trims she offers with any service. I highly recommend her if youre looking for a trustworthy veterinarian with affordable prices.
I love the vet herself. Its the front desk I had an issue with. We happened upon a stray that was in very very bad condition. I called to get an emergency appt and was told too bad maybe next week. Luckily was able to find a different vet to see her. This vet said luckily we got her there just in time as she would not have made it another couple of days. Just disappointedm
We have been going to this clinic for years-Have found the people associated with it to be friendly and very professional-Dr. Rowe is a wonderful dedicated Vet-She is always concerned with the health and happiness of her patients as is her staff-She has wonderful people working for her-Have never had a problem with any of them-Would not consider taking our pets to anyone else-Awesome!!!!!!
This vet office is one of the BEST in DFW!! Ive been to very expensive and very inexpensive and THIS IS THE BEST!!!, Look, our fur babies just dont live forever, even though it hurts us very much, But Dr Marilyn Rowe and her staff are Fabulous!! Its such great Professional Care, but the SPECIAL DEAL IS....... You can afford it!I just wish I lived closer, but that doesnt keep me from driving from Lakewood to Bedford. My babies are worth it!
Took my dog here for the first time because he was having an issue that could of been somthing that needed treating. The staff were super friendly and gave him lots of attention that he loved! Dr. Rowe was awesome and explained everything she did and since everything was completely normal she said just to see if the problem comes back but otherwise we arent going to fix whats not broken! That was great to here! So often vets do stuff just to get more money! I loved my experience here and this will be Bucks regular vet now!
We’ve been taking our yellow lab Guinness to Bedford Oaks Animal Clinic for 14 years now and can honestly say that Dr. Rowe has been a true blessing. You can really tell she is very knowledgeable and passionate about her work and cares deeply about our furry family member. Even though we all find it harder as we get older to get down on our knees and then get back up this has not stopped Dr. Rowe from getting down on her knees eye level with our Guinness to examine him. When she examines our dog on his level, I get the sense that he knows she is there to help him.
I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Rowe since I moved to Texas 13 years ago and I truly believe she is an angel on earth. Ive had to put two dogs down (one from bone cancer and one from stomach cancer) and she was phenomenal in both instances. Caring, compassionate, realistic, accessible and extremely fair priced. She understands how hard it is to lose an animal you love and makes the experience so much more bearable.I now own 3 rescue greyhounds and she always gets down on the floor with them when theyre in the examining room to talk with them and make them feel more at ease. She seriously rocks! I will never go to another vet as long as I live in this state!
Dr. Rowe is great. Her staff and the dr who fills in for her on mondays are rude. I made an appt for my dog to be checked due to separation anxiety and tearing up her teeth on her kennel. The guy looked at me as if I was stupid and talked to me with sarcasm throughout. I even cried during her appointment. I had to beg him to actually check her teeth and BOTH ears. The staff also treated me like I was nuts and a Nuisance. Thankfully, a much KINDER vet came into my place of employment and I explained what is going on with my dog. She told me to schedule with her clinic and she would actually give her a thorough exam. If you schedule, be sure to request dr. Rowe. I am disgusted with our quality of care. A vet should never make you doubt your choice to check your baby’s health when their behavior changes drastically. I’d say for the sake of the RUDE staff, just avoid scheduling altogether. Unless you know your dog is healthy, they will make you feel stupid for thinking anything is wrong.Find a better office if you’re a good dog parent.
Love Dr. Roe and her staff. Been taking our furry family members there for years. Last year when we lost out beloved Alex the cat they sent a sympathy card and were very sweet.Be aware the office isnt as new and sparkly and fancy like some, which probably accounts for the very reasonable prices. We love Bedford Oaks.
Dr. Rowe is the absolute greatest. I have a pup who needs special attention due to trauma incurred before I rescued her, and instead of sending us away for the pup being incredibly anxious, Dr. Rowe got down on the ground with her to calm her down and make her feel safe. I am never going anywhere else.
I will no longer take my pets to this clinic. The front desk staff provides below average customer service and are rude. The veterinarian does a great job, but it is not worth having to deal with the front desk staff. They are the face of the company, the people who talk on the phone representing the vet to paying customer bringing them business. Very disappointing that they do not take their jobs serious or care enough to be friendly and courteous.
We just moved to Bedford and our dog was due for a rabies shot. We went in and they gave us the option of seeing the doctor or not, and let us pick and choose which services we wanted. If we had just done the rabies shot it would have been less than $20 for the whole visit. That is awesome. We had some other shots done as well as heartworm prevention. They didnt pressure us to do extra services and they were very friendly and got us in and out quickly. So glad to have a great place we can take our furry friend for healthcare!
Had business there for 3 pets... We had to put one down yesterday... It was the hardest experence of my life. These are some of the most caring and compassionate people Ive ever met. They helped me though it and assured me I was doing my best friend a favor. Thank you Bedford Oaks Animal Clinic. Youll be seeing the other 2 for a long time. ❤❤❤
I took my dog, a 6 year old timid dog to have his shots and his nails trimmed, they [vet tech(s)] took him from the exam room into a room in the back (they did my second dogs nails in the exam room) and suddenly I heard him scream at the top of his lungs and they brought him back. I have no idea what happened and they wouldnt say. Later, I had my dog spayed and about 6 weeks later she began to bleed in her sanitary area as though she was in heat. Well, according to the Dr. she had a stump left in her...Needless to say, despite the fair prices, we wont be returning nor will they be getting a recommendation.
This clinics tactic is to get you to buy the medicine from them. They wont deal with online pharmacies but theyll gladly sell you the same medicine at double the price. This place might be cheap for a consultation but the front desk staff really lacks in customer service so you get what youre paying for.The lady with the horrible attitude named Rhonda will lie to your face and claim what she said to you hours before on the phone and in person are just tricks of your imagination.I brought my puppy here for an intial visit. The doctor failed to mention anything about heartworm prevention which is a big thing here in Texas. I did receive a sample treatment among a bunch of brochures but no prescription to buy elsewhere. She wants you to buy only from her at highly inflated prices.
Have been going here for years and I am still blown away by the great service and friendly attitude of everyone working here. Everyone just loves animals and is happy to be working, I drive out of my way to take my pets here because I feel very comfortable with all of the employees taking care of my pets.

2022-04-28We are new to the HEB area and I have switched my dog to Bedford Oaks. Besides the very friendly staff, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. Also the vet sent me home with tons of literature about allergy medication for my dog. The entire experience was excellent.

2022-07-21I have been bringing my pets to this clinic for almost 20 years and although I no longer live nearby, I still prefer this clinic. They not only give the best care for my pets, but their prices are more affordable than other places I’ve been and they understand how to connect with me as an animal owner/fur baby parent. Their new location is great and I plan to continue bringing my pets here.Highly recommended!

2022-03-06Ive been a loyal patron of this clinic since they were at their previous location with their old veterinarian who has since retired. The new veterinarian is really nice and positive. She has a way of making me feel safe and worry free about my pups ailments, which is always great when youre worried about your precious pet and feel helpless as to how to help them. The entire staff is excellent and kind. My dog loves going here. He even lets them trim his nails with minimal resistance, which is surprising since he refuses to allow me to do it at home. Whenever theres a health issue, I can almost always get an appointment the next day, and they let me stay with him the entire time, which is great. I wont go to a clinic that insists on drop off visits because I dont like the idea of just leaving my baby with strangers, but they do offer drop off appointments as well for those who prefer that. They are a little expensive, particularly when it comes to medications, but probably not any more expensive than any other vet. Overall a terrific place to take your pet.

2022-06-30So hard to top Dr. Rowe. The new practice has improved, as it seemed at first it took a long time to get an appointment, and the front desk seemed chaotic, but the pandemic didnt help. The facility is very clean, and I got check ups for my cats in a timely manner. The staff seems to be a team now, so keep up the good work.

2022-05-02The 2 new vets that work here are very caring, however, dont be fooled. This is a corporate owned chain of vet clinics and the prices are very high compared to when Dr. Rowe owned it Ill be looking closer to home for a more reasonably priced privately owned vet clinic. Its a shame that corporations have to get into the business of caring for animals.

2022-07-07I called this Veterinarian because my dog is having severe health issues including stroke, overheating, not eating, seizures etc and it is only getting worse with the heat she is clearly dealing with a terminal illness so we made a tough decision for our family to let her be at peace…and since she would be put down cold and alone in any city animal shelter, I was more than willing to spend the additional hundreds of dollars to come in and have our final goodbye with her.Our 7 1/2 year old dog who again has very apparent heart issues I witness on a day to day basis, as well as can barely breath gets heat exhaustion easily and has had seizures lasting over ten minutes for over a year now. This was a very difficult decision for us to make but we want her to be in peace in her final moments and not be in pain and was told they would like to do an examination but it was our choice ultimately. We walked in and the Vet looked at our dog for 5 minutes, deemed her too healthy to put to rest and sent us on our way. IT WAS ALL TO GET US IN HERE to pay for the exam. This practice is highly unethical, and just made a hard decision for us even harder!Thousands of fully healthy dogs in rescues and shelters overcrowded and overpopulated and this veterinarian just decided she wasn’t willing to assist a family in need with laying their terminally ill dog to rest peacefully… also seriously who else would WILLINGLY prepare to spend so much $$ to lay their dog to rest if they don’t care or feel it was the best decision for their loved one. Nothing about their decision made any sense.I’m so absolutely disgusted and appalled at what just took place.

2022-05-05This was our first time with Bedford Oaks and it was a great experience. The facility was nice and clean, it was easy scheduling, and everyone was nice and helpful. The pricing was fair but the advice and extra tips were very helpful. I will be bring my two pugs back for their next visit.

2022-04-19I took my dog on a Saturday morning as a walk in and they immediately took me in and examined my dog without question or delay. They treated me like I was a precious customer and made sure my dog was taken care of. Fantastic crew! Thank you so much.

2022-04-23So great full for them. My baby was coughing and it got worse. They scheduled me for the next morning. They did some X-ray’s and found my 15 year old chewawa had congestive heart failure. He’s on medication and will have a check up in 2 weeks. So thankful they were there. His normal vet couldn’t get him in for 7 days. I think we have found a new vet and the price was very fair.
