Bent Tree Park in other cities:
Overall, Im happy with my apartment. Its a decent apartment for the price and the area. But thats the most theyll get from me.New management just took over and its been a disaster. Ive been trying to pay my rent online for 3 days now. I finally called only to be told that I had to bring in a money order or cashiers check this month. I asked why we werent notified of the change - no real response - just sorry its only for this month. Then I asked if they were going to extend the rent deadline, since I wouldnt be able to get to a bank before end of day. She asked the managers and they agreed to extend the deadline for the complex until Saturday (instead of today). And I asked for a notification in writing be left on my door since its a deviation from my lease. Well see if I have a notice on my door when I get home.It should not be this difficult to pay rent and we DEFINITELY should have been notified of any deviation from our lease or payment options.
The apartment that my mom, brother, and I was pretty poor. I had to take a shower in my moms shower because my own shower didnt have have hot water even though maintenance came multiple times to fix it but never worked. The master bedroom had a regular bathtub but the other bathroom had a walk-in shower which was pretty confusing when we first moved in because the bathroom was for my brother and I. There has been multiple bugs in our apartment. About 3 or 4 roaches we found in the apartment. Many spiders. The foundation has been pretty bad in the kitchen. The sinks have been taking forever to get to hot water. The carpet seems to be pretty old and has been ripped open and had nails out in the open. I wouldnt recommend this apartment complex. The last two christmases we had, we heard like twelve gunshots being shot. If you ever have a family about to live here, I wouldnt recommend it. Weve even smelt weed through the vents because our downstairs neighbors are smoking. We also had to press hard on the microwave buttons because they didnt work after pushing it once.
I moved here last summer. I have been completely happy here. My move in was great, the staff was very helpful and friendly and still are. Any issues Ive had have been addressed quickly, luckily I have not had many. I love this location and really enjoy how quiet it is in the area. My best friend also just moved in, I hope she also loves it.
When me and my family were looking to move from our last place, I came here and was greeted by Matthew. I told him what we were looking for and how much we wanted to spend. unfortunately they did not have the floor plan available that we wanted but he was able to still find us something we would love and made the process so smooth. He treats you as if he has known you for years and your not new to the community, the rest of the office staff are very nice as well, including the property manager Pamela. When we moved in there was an issue with our mail box and they were closed the following day but once they opened Monday morning there was a new key waiting for us in the office. The area is very nice, super quiet and have had no issues with anyone. They keep the grounds looking great as well as the pools. Every time Matthew sees me or my husband he greets us and the office is always willing to help when you walk through the door. The price is a bit more then what we were paying at our old place but we LOVE it here and love how close we are to Addison circle and surrounding stores/restaurants. We plan on being here for a very long time.
If youre looking for low cost luxury apartments, these are not them. Theyre just regular, old, remodeled apartments. Theyre not great but theyre not awful. Theyre a good price for the area, maybe a bit expensive for what you get. I suggest staying away if you have any form of breathing problems as the ventilation in all the apartments in one building are connected. One apartment in my building smokes A LOT in their apartment and my apartment often reeks of smoke, which is honestly pretty disgusting. And the light situation is pretty bad, I dont have a light in my bedroom or living room but I do have a light and ceiling fan in my dining room (not logical). But they at least hooked the light switches to outlets so you can have that much. The neighbors are all really nice and its all in all pretty quiet. I see other reviews saying you can hear everything, Ive never heard anything from any of my neighbors. We all even have dogs and I never hear them barking (though I know they do).New management did just take over two weeks ago and to be honest, it has not been smooth. We cannot pay rent online (theres not a drop box either) or do maintenance requests online, but from what the office has told me is that its because the old management agency wont give them access to the website. So I guess Ill temporarily accept the inconvenience of going to pay my rent in person on my lunch break. Will update if this situation improves.Edit: So they fixed the online portal, the only issue is that they NEVER upload how much rent/water you owe. And they charge you $3 to make an online payment so if you guess your water wrong because you dont have the bill handy, youve got to pay the fee again. Ive not had any bad interactions with management but Ive also not had any complaints or requests either. The longer I live her though, the more I notice how shoddy the job is for the renovations. My carpet has giant box cutter slashes through it from them improperly installing it (Im sure Ill be blamed) and the fireplace mantle is questionably loose. Our water heater did break for about 2-3 weeks but has been repaired so that should explain other reviews with complaints about hot water. Over the Christmas holidays the smoking neighbors were off work and it became nearly impossible to breath in my apartment. Also, TWC couldnt install cable in my apartment which seems to be common. It took about 3 hours for them to manage the internet and THANK GOD he managed the internet but he said my apartment isnt wired for cable at all.
I have only lived here a few months, but the entire time my family has been here our AC has dripped rust water into our kitchen. At its worst, we have been dumping out 4 gallons of water a week. Maintenance has put a bandaid on it every time theyve come out, even though we were told a part would be order to fix it. Said part was eventually ordered but when the maintenance guy was here last (2 days ago), not only did he not repair the unit, but continued with the same blow out the line technique that has worked so well for the past three months.
I don’t ever post reviews, but I had to make an exception in this case. Especially with everything that’s been going on with covid19, for the staff to be so nice and go out of their way to help me is truly amazing. The property manager Pam honestly deserves more than this review, thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to stay so late and get me into my new apartment! I truly appreciate you and Diane for being so understanding and working so hard to help me out. 😊💙
Im not sure why so many people have had problems. The building I live in is clean, maintained, and had no bugs. I even own a dog and weve never had ANY issues. Over last summer our AC went out but they came an hour later and told us what was wrong and fixed it right then and changed the filters. Its not the worlds fanciest apartments but they do have large living rooms and large master bedroom. My queen bed and a small couch fit comfortably in the master. The only issue I have is that there are no ceiling lights in the bedrooms or living room and we have a small area in the bathroom that was never fixed from the previous tenants. But overall, weve enjoyed living here over the past year.
Hi there, resident from 9/16-5/18. So don’t let them fool you. Now that we have paid all of our move out dues as of two weeks ago, I am officially DONE. I would say it’s worth it to move down the road and pay a bit more for the quality of what you are going to get. I’m a nice, rational person. I don’t yell at leasing agents or customer service reps. I can say because of the inconsistency and issues here, was one of the first times I had to raise my voice and be ‘mean’ to get anything done or feel like the issue mattered to them. Gonna break it down to a simple list because listing personal experience would be a novel.Pros:-Parking is good-Location&price-Dog park (if you can handle the poop)-two pools-laundry facilityThat’s about it.Cons:-Inconsistent office staff. No one there is ever on the same page. You can call twice within minutes and be told two different things. This is the VERY reason we had many issues.-Trash. People litter everywhere. Parking lots are nasty and look trashy.-Dog poop. Appreciated how dog friendly this complex was. BUT NOONE cleans up after their dog. Every square foot of grass smells and is covered in dog poop. It’s not pleasant at all.-Resident to maintenance staff ratio. Don’t plan on making a maintenance request. It’ll go unseen or ignored for months. MONTHS. Constant calling and reminding them until it gets resolved.-Electrical cords everywhere on the side of buildings that don’t work anymore but are left out. Apart of the whole aesthetic appeal. Looked nasty and trashy.-Gonna add that they lost one of our rent checks. We had to prove we paid or would’ve been charged twice. I mean...really... who LOSES a residents rent and acts like it’s nonchalant.-The grounds in general are gross. Grass is usually unkept and add in the dog poop& trash, realllll classy.Overall if you’re okay with paying a mediocre amount for low-mid level apartments, go ahead.I’ll say that I hope the staff steps it up and starts caring about their residents BEFORE that resident gives intent to leave. Trying to please and keep a resident while they reside on your property should be the goal. That means taking requests seriously and having them resolved promptly. There’s no reason my AC should have gone out 3 times, and it took 3 calls each time to get it fixed. There’s no reason building lights should go unfixed when people have to come home at night and want to feel safe. That’s my experience living there. It’s unfortunate we were okay with overlapping leases because of how much we couldn’t wait to get out of that place.Edit in regards to their reply: don’t let them fool you, internet. Me and my room mate called about our outside light being out multiple times over a period of about 6 months and it never got fixed until we had new neighbors move on. And if the AC unit was having so many “issues” that took “multiple times” to fix it, they could have simply communicated that to me. Also, them losing our first months rent check was ONLY fixed because we provided proof of payment. If their response doesn’t turn you away from living here, IDK what will. Most unprofessional office staff I’ve ever encountered. Also go take a look at the cords for yourself. The apartments I live in now care about their grounds and there are no random fiber optic cables just laying around. Lol. No thanks Pamela I will not be calling you.
I have been a resident here at Bent Tree Park for about 10 years, there must be something about it I like. Though it is not the newest complex in town it has its own charm. I like the size of the apartments the closet space etc. etc. The one thing i love about this apartment is that it has fan vents that vent to the outside not back into the apartment after going through some filter, great for cooking. I have not had any problem with security, either person or property. Though I have not liked all of the previous managements, the current management is great, easy to work with and receptive. Any time I have needed something fixed it has been done well and on a timely basis. Take a look you just might like it.
If I could give negative stars I would, I called for tour and pricing and the hispanic lady that answered acted as if I was bothering her. She acted like my business wasn’t worth her time and rushed me off of the phone. In my opinion this is very unprofessional and not a good way to get a resident.
Ive lived here going on five years. At first, the management company was alright. Standard apartment management. Nothing spectacular, but they did try to help tenants in whatever way they could.Fast forward to Knightvest Management taking over. This company is ridiculous. Theyre updating the apartments? Sure. Theyve added a shiny dog park, a sparkly new pool area (in the front, while the pool in the back is struggling every week to not be overrun with mold, or flooded when the maintenance guy leaves the hose in the pool all night long... also flooding the sidewalks around said pool and almost reaching the doorways of the apartments along the side.)About a year ago, they added $25/$30 per month covered parking. But they added it everywhere. Those who do not wish to pay the extra have limited parking options. And Im sorry, but with the rent being absolutely over the top for the quality of apartment home you get, Im not paying another $25/$30 a month. When I moved in, my rent was decent. The first management company raised rates by about $20/mo - $40/mo typically each lease renewal, but it wasnt awful.. Knightvest, however, likes to tack on another $100-$150/month per lease renewal. The first lease renewal with them went up by $125/month. I was frustrated, but was not in a position to move. So I signed an 18 month lease (which they now do not offer), in hopes that by the 18th month, Id be able to move out of BTP. Typically, an apartment will notify you of lease renewal increases at least a month or so before you are required to give a notice of intent to move out (usually a 60 day or 30 day notice - BTP runs on a 60 day). Nope. From the date the notice was placed on our door (requiring ANOTHER $100 increase per month - keep in mind the apartment we live in has zero of the upgrades that many other units in the complex have) we had exactly 8 days to decide to renew or submit our 60 day notice. 8 days. We scrambled to find somewhere else, but thanks to the market, there was little to no availability in the areas we needed (which we were not picky on) and in the price range we needed ($1100/mo for a 2 br didnt seem that impossible to us...). Many of the places we spoke to/looked at ran on a 30 day notice, so they couldnt tell us if wed have an apartment to rent at the time wed need to move. Scrambling to find somewhere was awful, even had to take time off of work, and in the end, we couldnt find anywhere so we were basically stuck at our current apartment for another year, paying even more for something in a place we no longer could stand. We have been having more problems with bugs in the apartments over the last year. Before that, wed rarely ever see anything crawling in our home. Im guessing it could be the neighbors? There are no ceiling lights in our unit (minus the kitchen and dining area). The insulation is awful and we have to keep our a/c at 62 just to feel any type of comfortable. Our electric bills? You dont want to know. The kitchens are so small. There is not enough space for more than one person to move around in. Definitely not enough storage space. Thankfully, they have a built in microwave so you dont have to take up counter space with that. The office staff is rude, unhelpful, and sometimes just plain idiotic. They are supposed to close the office at 6, but I cant tell you how many times theyve been closed as early as 4:30, with no note as to why. They will fine you if you have a plant on your patio that has happened to die. No one intentionally wants dead plants on their patio, give me a little time to get rid of it or nurse it back to health before giving out a monetary fine.My advice? Stay as far away from BTP as you can (or any Knightvest controlled property). It is not worth it, and you may end up finding yourself stuck here with the way they do their business..) Its a shame, too, because this place used to be a much better place to live.
My first year renting with this property, I was not impressed by the staff and was anxious for my lease to end. When it came time to inform the staff that I wont be renewing my lease, I met the most amazing property manager ever, Matthew Perez! I did not plan on renewing my lease but Matthews customer service was so impressive, I decided to stay. Despite, my 1st year dealing with the horrible staff (Theyre no longer employed at this property), Bent Tree Park is a gem! Not only did Matthew help me transfer into an upgraded unit but he was very friendly and vowed to make my experience better, which he did! Now that the property is under new staff, I highly recommend this complex! Very nice, clean and affordable apartment homes in Addison.
This place is poorly managed, the staff is rude, they come in your apartment unannounced, the management doesnt know how to talk to people, the maintenance is poorly handled. I dont advise anyone to rent here, it has a bunch of leak issues and roaches. They paint over leaks to hide the problems. The manager should be fired... There is a reason theyre posting signs all over Dallas offering free rent. People move out left and right.Your response clearly shows the unprofessionalism that you and your staff has, but pictures dont lie and neither does your reviews. 2.6/ everyone aint telling the same lie. What your saying is its okay for your staff to talk to people any kind of way, but if the tenant says something in there defense then theyre wrong and because you have the upper hand, you throwing your weight around.. Its okay to trespass in someones home unannounced, and just because you, work in the office you feel like you can barge in anytime you please? Its the truth that youre going to have the electricity of an entire 8/hours and you tell tenants if their food spoils to call there renters insurance... What does spoil food have to do with renters insurance? But your right we will have a good life, but keep one thing in mind. Throwing your weight around treating people unfair, and no one speaking up and calling you out on your mess. This is going further than you. We will be contacting TAA and The Fair housing commission. And your corporate office. And the pictures of the roaches, broken appliance and warp ceiling will also be posted. And pictures dont lie.
Oh yay we arent the only ones experiencing these issues. If I knew that we would be treated this way I would have never moved here. No matter what the property mgr says NOTHING gets fixed a band aid is used. Since the end of May when we moved in we have had air condition problems. The handler in the kitchen leaks everyday. Im just like the other residents and have a bucket in the kitchen. My rug has been ruined because of the water. It even caused a leak to the downstairs apartment. When you set your air at 72 and it gets to 82 in the apartment there is something wrong and they dont want to fix it. The air NEVER shuts off Im waiting for the outside one to blow because of it not shutting off. My electric bill 60% is heating and cooling 38% is other (fans running 24/7 that WE installed). If we hadnt installed the fans it would be over 90 degrees in this apartment. Second worse place to Communities of Bent Tree.
Had a maintenance man come by the apartment to fix our AC problem. Rick was on top of it and arrived at our complex in less than 30 minutes since the call. Rick has fixed many problems for us before and has always been respectful, polite, patient, and well-mannered. Not only that, he fixes the problem on the first attempt everytime! Hes one of the many reasons why we stay here at Bent Tree Park Apartments. Been here for over three years now
Had an outstanding experience here. I am buying a house with my wife and we werent sure if we would find one before our lease ended so we extended it one month. Turns out we did find one in time, so I went back to ask for any options. The manager was kind enough to completely undo the extension like it never happened, saving us a lot of money. She could have said no and waived the contract in my face but instead worked with me. Rarely have I had so much kindness from an apartment complex. Ive really enjoyed living here and am only moving out for the best of reasons. I would recommend others check this place out!
I’ve lived here since July 2017 and it’s now August 2018 and I have done nothing but count down the days until we can move in October 2018. When we first moved here, Matthew was a DREAM leasing agent. He helped and answered any way that he could, but then he was gone and this place has completely went down the drain. The office staff, with exception to Pam and the young Hispanic girl, are TERRIBLE. If you walk in to find an older Hispanic woman, please go to the next desk. Her attitude alone will make you want to walk right back out the door. More than half of the things that are advertised on the website are probably out of order or just not taken care of (pools, dog park, etc.) The pictures online of the apartments are pretty, aren’t they? What they don’t show you are the gaping holes in between your walls and cabinets. The gaps in the doorways that let all the cool air out. The gaps along the wall of your staircase...you get it. Believe me, I understand what it means to have a house shift, but damn. This place is on another level. Not to mention hideous hoses and wires coming out of your apartment on your front porch that is covered by nothing. I’m not even sure if they are even working, they were probably too lazy or cheap to get them removed. Now, I’ll get a little more personal...- I live close to the front by the leasing office. This is typically where the bus stop is also. I don’t mind that, BUT that also means parents of the kids like to crowd around your apartment while waiting. Being a women who is typically home by herself throughout the day, I’m not too happy about that. For a while, an older man would sit ON MY PORCH while waiting for his child. Not like leaned up on the outside, BUT INSIDE. I was unloading my car one day and had to physically tell him to move so that I could get passed him and into my front door. This happened 3 times might I add. When I went to the leasing office to get help on what to do, their advice to me was “get a gun!” EXCUSE ME!? TERRRRRRIBLE STAFF.- You pay for pest control, but not one time have I ever seen them spray unless I asked them to. I have a TERRIBLE millipede problem and have spent my money on all types of repellent.- If you put in a work order and maintenance comes over, prepare for them to keep your doors open all day while they work. How do I know this, I had an indoor security camera installed. So alllll that nice cool air I was paying for? Yeah, it was all pushed out into the Texas heat. Y’all don’t even want to know what our bill was...- One more thing about maintenance, when they are getting an apartment ready near you for new tenants, LET ME BE THE ONE TO LET YOU KNOW you will smell something in your apartment that will make you want to cough and vomit. It’s the sealant they use on the bathtubs and the smell is so bad it feels like it’s inside your apartment. It would be courteous of the leasing office to send out a notice, wouldn’t it?? Yeah, they didn’t seem to care.- If you want to call and ask a question, it’s not that simple. 100% of the time you will be forwarded to a messaging center that is offsite and can’t help you in any way.- I’ve gotten to know my neighbors pretty well, not because we talk face to face, but I can hear everything going on around me through the paper thin walls.- Watch your water bill...that’s all I have to say.- Recently, we had to file an extension on our rent. We filed it with this older Hispanic lady with an attitude i mentioned earlier (BIG MISTAKE) Usually not a big deal right? Well, I came home to an eviction notice , went to the office to inquire about it and apparently she just “forgot” to put it in. We gave them a check for half our rent and all of a sudden we are getting evicted? HELL NO. What did the older Hispanic lady do? SHE SMILED AND SMIRKED AT ME.If this hasn’t helped you make up your mind on NOT moving here, you must be crazy...
Im kind of upset that I dont have the option to give this place 1/4 of a star. Pros: Awesome location. Cons: This is a perfect example of putting a band aid over an open wound. The former company did their best to capitalize on getting money from tenants but atleast they were pleasant about it. The transition to this new company is horrible! Im not the smartest guy in the world but if you are in the process of acquiring a new property shouldnt you be prepared to handle any situation that may arise. Dishwasher has been broken for about two weeks now and the lovely middle aged woman told me that because of broken ac units my issue was not a priority. I fully understand with this heat ac is a must have but you dont tell a paying tenant that they arent a priority. Im always going toe to toe with little black and red bugs. The tub has an intermittent issue draining properly. When it rains the area above my bookshelf drips water. The circuit breaker trips if i run the microwave and the ac at the same time. The pool has been closed for about two weeks total this summer. The propane for the grills is rarely available. The gym is garbage. People have stolen the free weights( inconsiderate, selfish and just plain trifling) On a brighter note the new owners thought it would be a great idea to install a sprinkler system in front of my door. If i time it just right I have the opportunity to get drenched when i step outside. People dont pick up their dog poop...inside of the dog park! You have to be a special kind of lazy. One of the buildings has termites, some have roaches, others have spiders and even one has centipedes! Its like a box of chocolates!!! The only thing i like about this place is my neighbors.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! The new management team is terrible!!! They have horrible attitudes when you call and Id advise that nobody move here. They have an online service to pay your rent but refuse to upload charges every month, then when you call they say your rent is the same every month until you renew just add your water rather than just telling you how much you owe for the month. Maintenance takes forever to come and fix an issue and the hot water is not even hot. I recently had fleas in my apartment and I dont even have a pet. They stop taking our packages in the front office as well, which runs the risk of someone taking our item. I cant wait to move in April!!!
Where do I start. These apartments were absolutely horrible a complete nightmare. We moved in last June 2014 signed a year lease and dealt with very nice people or so we thought they were . The day we moved in we were trying to have cable installed and none of the maintenance men were able to help the cable man locate the router box behind the walls, they claimed they may have covered up the hole. Why would you cover up that up knowing that at least 95% of your tenants will probably be getting cable and Internet. Then they tell me I may not be able to have internet which was not a option being that I worked from home. Day 3 of living there the air conditioner breaks in the middle of summer and almost every other day after that up until April 2015 we had air conditioner problems. The manager at the time offered timer is move out we had only been there for 3 days who the heck had time to move again. One of the older maintenance men even yelled at me and asked me what to expect being that I lived on the second floor. In which I had to ask him to leave because I was home alone with my daughter. Once it cooled down they started blaming me for having my air on in during the winter, apparently you shouldnt do that. Ive never lived anywhere where I couldnt run my air during the winter months if I wanted to. But they then started telling me that I was breaking the air and that if they had to hire a outside company they would charge me for it. At that point I was completely over it and inquired several times about their stupidity among other blunt things I probably shouldnt have said and a few choice words. They did replace the motor and then it broke again a few weeks later and basically in April right before it was time for us to move out they replaced the entire system and magically the problems stopped. Their corporate office is just as worse I would avoid knight vest management in general. They did a renovation that made the apartments look great until you start to realized its just shiny paint, cheap cheap cheap cheap wood look alike laminate floors and wallpaper...... Just a FYI they ask you to sign something agreeing to only use dawn dishwashing soaps when cleaning the tub and shower its because its this weird water proof wallpaper that they covered it with that will eventually start wearing off. The drains are always clogged. Dishwasher rarely works. Oh and if you get the biggest 2/2 know that the washer dryer area does not fit a full size we had to have the doors removed to fit our washer and dryer. Mariah the manager is absolutely horrible with no social interaction skill she will avoid you like the plague and have her leasing agents speak for you and they hand out leasing violations like Halloween candy so be careful getting on their bad side like I did. They offered to let me break my lease a few times but would not provide that in writing, unfortunately my trust levels with them were zero to none. My many and consistent service request were obviously annoying to them but I feel like Im paying rent every month on time so everything should work. The plumbing was terrible, on two separate occasion the plumbing from our apartment went through the floor into the apartment below us. Its a overall gross place to live anywhere else would probably be a better choice. Even the day we moved out they were closed so we couldnt return the keys and I ended up getting hurt so I wasnt able to drive that following Monday and I let them know my husband would bring them after work and they said they would charge us for another day. So I then told them I would just hobble down to my car and bring them and they were like oh well youre forty minutes late so were still going to charge. You would think there would be a little sympathy but not from Jerica or Mariah its all about money money money. I should have believed all the other reviews I read about the place but I just couldnt believe it would be that bad.
BENT TREE PARK APARTMENTS BY FAR ARE THE WORSE AND I INPHASIZE WORST APARTMENT HOMES I EVER EXPERIENCED AND LIVED IN. THE PROPERTY MNGT COMPANY (DEVONSHIRE PROPERTY MNGT) ARE HORRIBLE. THE LEASING STAFF DOWN TO MAINTENANCE SHOULD ALL BE TERMINATED. THEY OPERATE LIKE A USED CAR LOT. GIVE YOU A HUGE SMILE AND SPILL ALL THE WHILE KNOWING THEY ARE SELLING YOU A LEMON.I moved into these apartments on Sept. 8, 2018. I got my keys on that Saturday on the 6th. I honestly was excited but that came to a halt quickly. While my things were being delivered and I was cleaning I noticed a roach on top of the oven. So I pulled the oven out and the refridgerator. I seen several baby roaches behind the refridgerator and stuck inside tape where the electrical outlet had no cover. The kitchen drawers were just hanging inside the cabinet the doors of cabinets and microwave wasn’t secuured properly. The second bedroom had a red stain in the carpet and a fishy odor. The doors didn’t close properly. No tub stoppers etc. I contacted Sheryl Odom my leasing agent. It was a Sunday and she said on Monday they would take care of it. Well Monday never heard anything to follow up. Tuesday came still no follow up. I called them and they were polite and stated that the assistant mngr was the one who overseen the “make ready” status of the apartments. Well I stop by there after I got off and had her walk to my apartment with me. I showed her the issue along with expressing my concerns about the bugs. Well they addressed some of the concerns but let’s just fast forward. It’s so much to say. It’s very disappointing. But building 27c is infested with roaches. They’ve been spraying twice a week since the week I moved in. The roaches want die and still producing baby’s. Nothing will kill them. Pamela Leslie finally let me out my lease but honestly I want more compensation for the horrible conditions. Bugs in the shower, all over the living room etc. it’s honestly to much to write. I have emails and pictures. While moving out yesterday my neighbor an older woman. Said her apartment was infested with roaches and she said she had mice too. The woman across from her has roaches and ant infestation. She was shaking ants out her infants diapers. The guys across from me moved out last week said the roaches were out of control. The leasing office has been telling all of us that they can’t give them their bosses contact or property mngt company info. And that they have to allow them to keep treating. The company they use is called WEB PEST CONTROL. But what ever they’re doing only makes the bugs hide for 2 days and then they back out taking advantage of your home. I don’t recommend anyone to move in here. Leasing Office 💩💩💩💩💩🤬Maintence 👎👎👎👎👎Complex 💩💩💩💩💩🤬Devonshire Property Manament 💩💩💩💩💩🤬
Im only giving this place 2 stars because i absolutely love this area. We live 10 min from literally everything. My husband and our daughter have only been living here for almost 8 months now, when we first moved in we were so excited, it was our first ever apartment after just getting married so nonetheless we were very happy at FIRST!When the new management took over it was an absolutely disaster and disappointment. The entire summer we only got to swim a handful of times, BOTH pools always something wrong. It was either dirty, or the water was just to nasty to swim in..now thats its fall kinda funny how both pools are closed and its the cleanest i have seen them the almost 8 months i have beem here.Dont get me started on the apartment itself. The drains get clogged so easily. The lighting is seriously a joke. When we want to use the microwave we have to turn everything off. How annoying is that! The guys they have working on the complex are creepy looking old men who just ride the Gulf cart all day long. When management first came it took them almost 3 months to fix a leek that was in our daughters bathroom. Went up there countless times, once they told us the property manager wasnt talking to anyone they would write a note. Seriously i pay over 1000 dollars a month and thats what you tell me?!Our A/c has been acting up sent a report online its been a week and NO ONE has called. We fought fleas for 3 months. We even had to bug bomb our apartment, but they said they spray for fleas? But we pay a fee for pest control and we are the ones to blame?!For this place being our first ever apartment has seriously been a major let down. Youll love this area, the price is okay for what you do get, if you like the older style apartments. My family and I honestly cant wait for our lease to be up to get the heck out of here.Sincerely,One unhappy customer.
Where to even begin with this place...before we moved to this apartment in January 2018, we were told we couldn’t see our unit because they weren’t finished vacuuming. We first saw it on the day we moved in and there were paint splotches all over the floors and there was a huge chunk of the balcony door missing. It took them about a month to fix it so we were stuck with having a shirt stuffed into it to not let the cold draft in. About 2 weeks of living there, we noticed roaches that lived in the walls and it didn’t matter how many times we had it bombed, they always came back. The first time we called to get the place exterminated, we called the front office and told them we had a cat and what to do with him while the exterminator came. Whoever we spoke to told us to put him in our bathroom with the door shut and he should be fine. Thankfully my boyfriend was home when the exterminator came and he reiterated that it would be okay to leave our cat in our bathroom and the exterminator said “no living being can be in here for about 4 hours.” The front office lost their copies of our keys TWICE. When it rained, we had serious water damage and leakage above our fireplace and mold. My boyfriend came home as they were ”fixing” it and thank god he was there because he witnessed them just painting over it instead of removing the damaged part of the ceiling. He told them to replace it and they did but only because he was there. The insulation is terrible and you can literally hear everything from your neighbors. The water in our master bathroom sink smelled like perm solution and rotten eggs. Maintenance is a joke. We had maintenance requests out for weeks and when we called the front office to follow up, they told us the requests were already signed off and completed. Our master bedroom window was stuck shut and every maintenance worker that came (except one that finally got it fixed) told us there was nothing they could do about it...so we were living with a fire hazard for months until one of the guys fixed it (he was very sweet and helpful I will add). Our internet was being finicky so we called Spectrum to come take a look and he said every test he ran was fine but the problem was the way we were getting our internet in the complex. There was an orange cord running from the maintenance building, through the parking lot to our building and that’s how we were receiving our internet. Management is horrible and it seems like nobody knows what the hell is going on in the office. Spend a little more money and move into the apartments down the street because this place was not what we expected. We’re understanding people and know that we’re not the only tenants in the building. But everything we dealt with was absolutely ridiculous. We hate moving more than anything, but we couldn’t spend any more time in that place so we rode our lease out and dealt with it until we moved and I couldn’t be happier that we’re gone.
Alexandra is spot on with the a/c issues. I moved in back in May & the a/c has been a problem since day 1. The temp inside of my apartment has climbed up to 88 degrees. Some nights I stay with friends because its so hot! I have called them about the issue & when the maintenance guy comes (a few times I called and nobody even bothered to show up) all they say is its because its hot outside theres nothing we can do. Funny thing is Ive lived in Texas my entire life which would include during the summer when the temp is well over 90 & sometimes 100 degrees & guess what, my previous places still managed to keep the temp comfortable inside. Isnt that the whole point of having air conditioned homes, to keep it cool inside when its hot out??? Other times they just add coolant to the unit and say the problem is fixed & to give it a few hours to cool off. It never does. Im to the point of exploring options to break my lease because as Alexandra said my electricity bill is consistently over $140 every month, which is more than I paid when I lived in a 4 bedroom home, because the unit runs constantly since it never cools down enough inside to kick off. My issue isnt with the price of the bill, my issue is if Im going to pay nearly $150 every month I want to be cool in my own home. I dont think thats too much to ask. Also like others have mentioned there are no lights or ceiling fans in the bedrooms or living room, which I think is weird but somehow didnt notice until after I signed the lease. If youre not going to replace the a/c units then at least install ceiling fans. The rent is reasonable. Neighbors are friendly. Property is decently kept. My only issue is the lack of responsibility they take with these old, outdated units that only blow hot air & their refusal to do anything about it.
I would recommend this place. The office team is very helpful. Sherl handled our move in and is usually in the office when I have questions. Though there are plenty of other Agents available when she is not. My husband and I have communicated with each of the Finance and Office Managers. There has been one time where we did not see eye to eye. However, being that the person was obviously trying her best to resolve the issue. We too remained professional and underatanding. We have been here a year. Gave about a 90 day notice (as soon as we knew). We will be downsizing to another city. In doing so we hope to purchase a home soon. We enjoyed our time at BTP Apartments. And appreciated the professionalism as a whole. As well as our Agent Sherls genuine outstanding residential assistance and care towards our family throughout our lease!I dont expect any surprises at move out. Our guest bathroom door was needing to be replaced at move in. But that was documented. There is a minor crack on the microwave that does not prevent the operating of it in any way. Will update on how it goes! Maintainance has been responsive for the most part no complaints. If something took more than a week to be reaponded to. We would submit that same online request, through a phone call to an office staff. nothing stressful about the process at all. Always pleasant and quick! We met a fellow retired Vet! As well as some great kind non intrusive neighbors! The new leasing place will deffinately have some big shoes to fill, lol 😏.If this review helps...and you would like to return the good info. Please let your Agent know ) Donna sent you. We move out April 2019 so a referral could $$ be helpful for us as well!Blessings In Christ,Donna Parker1807G
Unfortunately, you cannot rate this place lower than 1 star.New management took over the property at 3 pm friday july 22nd, there was no notice given to any renters, and the online portal for payment is no longer accessible. Managers were not on property for the first day of their ownership, (saturday july 23,) and i was told that there will not be online functionality until september. My rent is paid through automatic draft and the person working told me that i cannot cancel this method and it may continue AFTER my lease is up.So theyre off to a really great start. As for the apartments themselves, they are shoddy. The faux granite countertops in the kitchen are not actually secured to the counters, you can lift them up very easily, and if a guest makes the mistake of leaning ever so slightly on your bar, it will fall down.Water pressure is non existent. Stays hot for maybe 15 minutes, so you get really good at those quick showers when you have multiple tenants. The walls are paper thin. you will hear everything. EVERYTHING.the floors are cheap vinyl, which is a step up from carpet, but barely just.the front porch of our unit has a sloppy paint job that is a completely different color than the original coating and it has been that way for about 6 months now.any work orders you put through will be serviced by a third party contractor. they will come into your home without calling. sometimes they have come into our apartment and they havent even left the sheet of paper saying what they did.to sum it up: stay out of here. rent is absurdly high. 2 years ago a 2br 1bath apartment was in the high 700s, today we are paying over a thousand for rent. They charge luxury prices, but nothing about this property should be misconstrued as luxurious.
I’m so disappointed in this establishment. I have been experiencing water bug issues since I moved here. I have called the apartment complex at least 3 times on this occurrence. I tried being patient, but this is the last resort. WE NOW HAVE RATS & COCKROACHES. I’ve called on this matter and I was told I have to wait a WEEK until pest control can come out. Here it is a week and a half later no signs of pest control and I’ve killed 2 cockroaches and saw two enormous rats while going in the kitchen. This is completely unacceptable and quite frankly disgusting.
Just a bit ago I was forced to leave my apartment.1. The management has an excuse for everything.2. Please reconsider renting at this place.I first identified a very strong smell. I was walking around the apartment trying to identify where it was coming from. I opend the patio door and kitchen window in hopes that it would clear up the smell. The crazy weather weve been having, todays high is 37°, I didnt keep it open for very long.Within an minute or 2 of shuting the window and door the smell was so bad I could taste it. My 5 year old nephew who stays with me sometimes started to coughing, began to cry, and ran to the restroom to throw up. My father called the office and spoke with Ophelia and she told him to open the doors and windows. He expressed his concerns of the smell as well as his worry for his grandson. My dad was very blunt and abrupt. The lack of concern and empathy from the individual on the phone cause him to become irate. When he asked why we were not informed of the possibility of the smell she said it is not a requirement. That it is routine and they do it all the time. He asked if they could stop for the time being and resumed it at a later date. She said she would have to call back. By this point the smell was overpowering and causing nausea not only for me but my nephew and my father. With the lack of concern from management and with the symptoms my nephew was showing my father called the fire department. The Addison fire department was quick to respond, they took a look at my nephew, whos okay, and required a member of the management to come to the apartment building. Her first response was you called the fire department for a routine replacement of a tub? Not even concerned for myself, my father, or my nephew. She made it clear that he propriety was to have the quick fixes done on the apartment so the new tenant can move in.I asked her to step into the apartment and she refused. I myself became upset, because she acted as if we were the ones who had done something wrong. When it was their lack of concern and consideration that cause the whole situation to escalate. I guarantee you you will see a response from this elusive manager claiming to want to fix the issue. As I added at the beginning of this review please do not rent at this apartment take your money to a place where you will be appreciated and your safety taken into consideration. Also, this is not the only concern that I have. There have been additional occurrences that one becomes accustomed to while they live here. No matter how often they try to speak up in regards to the issues they go unchecked as the many reviews read before its just a bandaid put over a gaping wound. Had the previous tenants downstairs not have moved out we would not have known that there was a leak coming from our apartment into the downstairs apartment. I believe there was a manager of the off-site maintenance crew who came in and took a look at both bathrooms and did the temporary patch up work. The issues weve had with our bathrooms should have been resolved back in October. Right now I dont have the option to move my lease is not up just yet and my father is recovering from an injury at work.If my story can prevent another human being from being devalued and have additional stress added to their current situation I am more than happy to share. A home shouldnt feel like a burden and you shouldnt feel like a burden at your home.
I love it here!!Everyone is so nice down to the maintenance guys!!Let me start with every time i go into the office they are so respectful and kind with me they always so attentive. Its so awesome that they have a Dog park which by the way my Dogs love! The grounds are clean.Theres 2 pools so during the summer it isnt crowded.I cant procrastinate anymore i have a fitness center 1 min away from my apt lol and when Im done guess what Im going to do get me some goodies from the vending machines lol !I love it here thank you Bent tree park for making it such an awesome place i can call my home!!
Apartments are pretty cute.... but the leasing staff is terrible. I wanted to leave before I even saw an apartment. No one greeted us when we walked in. The lady that helped us was super rude and didnt act like she cared about us or her job. Super awkward tour as she allowed another couple to join us. Made it weird to look at the model apartment, and what was supposed to be a tour for us turned out to be a tour for other couple. The apartment isnt THAT cute to deal with horrible staff for 12 months.
This place used to be great, but now that they have removed all the amenities. Its just another crappy apartment complex with fire hazard wiring, loud neighbours, and a laundry facility that is always broken. This place was recently sold to a new owner and they have started removing anything and everything they can.The office used to hold your packages so your goods wouldnt be sitting on your step all day until you got home from work, but now they are rude to the postal workers and tell them its not their problem. The office has a large room in the back where they stored all the packages but is now empty so they dont have to deal with the mail. The stairs that lead to the second floor will seem like it will fit a queen mattress, but it wont. No matter how you turn it, after being told it would fit.A beeping smoke detector with a fresh battery normally means that the connection in the wall is faulty. The office lies about the smoke detector, so they dont have to send maintenance around. After further inspection it shows that the wires running to the smoke detector is secured with tape, which is out of code and illegal. The garbage disposal rusted through the bottom and leaked all throughout the kitchen at one point. And the pictures are of the nice vending area that was always stocked with drinks, normal pharmacy items like you would normally have to goto CVS or Walgreens to pickup if you needed it in the middle of the night. Toilet items, quick meals, etc. Well apparently that was also to much of a hassle and its been removed as well. The maintenance crew also tell you a time they will return, but never follows up.After the new owners took over they were not given the books from the previous owner about how much the rent was. And overcharged the entire complex, and only fixed the issue after it was pointed out. Im unsure if anyone else was refunded.I will never suggest anyone move here and will actively tell others not to. Renter beware.
These apartments are by far the best! Never had an issue with the staff or property. The staff are very friendly and are always willing to work with the residents. Ive been here for a while and there hasnt been any criminal activity on this property. Its a quiet neighborhood and the residents are just as friendly as the staff! If you are a first time renter, I would recommend Bent Tree Park, if you have rented before and looking for another apartment, Bent Tree Park is the place to be! Ive had nothing but excellent experiences with management and staff...maybe its because Im not a high maintenance individual with high standards...I love These apartments!
This is one of the best apartments in Addison area.I have stayed here for over a year now and the stay is pleasant. Most of the issues I had were managed pretty fast. However, during summer I had an issue regarding air conditioner which took around 4 days to get resolved.Other than that management and service staff are really good.
You will smell cigarette smoke from other apartments due to a ventilation system structured in the 80’s. You will get no accommodations nor empathy because money is more important than a peaceful place to live. Maintenance will steal items they think you won’t notice. Your car will be broken into more than likely. For the price, and the lack of concern for their tenants stay far away. They will use the fact that you have no rights as a renter to promote their inactivity. DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS!!
HORRIBLE! Management never knows anything and wont call you back. The answering service told me, the manager doesnt answer her phone. They started roof work and never notified us of it, so there was banging on my ceiling(literally knocking light fixtures off of the ceiling and shorting my lights out) for days. They send eviction notices to almost everyone in the complex because they didnt cash peoples rent checks. The renovations are shotty, at best. The paint from the inside of the cabinets will stick to your appliances and dishes and will peel off. Trust me, you DO NOT want to live here.
Never reviewed this place after I left a few months ago, I enjoyed my time at this complex, I was in 2410C and we had some A/C issues and the manager did everything she could to fix it. Also had a weird sound problem and she installed a sound muffler in my vent system. Maintenance was fast to respond. Really enjoyed my time there, would live there again if Im in the area! I cant remember the Managers name but she was great! I know the place looks old but never had any major problems
Everything Courtney wrote is right on point. I want to add that in my unit the central cooling is very poor. Im not sure what the issue is but it has not been fixed since I moved in in late May. Since the buildings are old I suspect there is simply no insulation. I turn the temperature down to 68 because it is so hot but alas it only gets down to 74, which for me is uncomfortably warm. My electricity bill is the most expensive its ever been. I should add I cant get the hot water to work- the hottest it gets is mildly warm. The pool water is warm as well and is never clean, when I go at least. It is also very shallow- I think maybe 4 ft 6 in deep. Several washers and dryers in the complex do not work and have no sign telling you they are out of service so you end up wasting time and money. They are also expensive- either 4 or 5 bucks to wash and dry one load. To use the machines you have to buy a card as well and you can only use dollar bills to load the card. Very inconvenient system. The gym: When I moved in the leg press was already broken- it has not been fixed or replaced yet. There are only 4 sets of light dumbbell weights. All the heavy weights have been removed from the gym. This is one of the more affordable apartments in the area and they do a good job at making it LOOK nice, but its still expensive and for the price Im paying I expect things to be in working order or at least notified that the problems exist and will be solved. No communication.
If I could leave the stars empty I would. This place is crap. Save your time and your money. Where to start....well for starters the apartment is nice on the inside. The appliances in our apartment are up to date and brand new; these are the only nice things I have to say about this place. Sure the appliances are new but what good is it if you cant even use them. Multiple times I have either come home from work or just woke up and the hot water was not working, or the water was not working at all. The power has been out and the funny thing is the people in the office are oblivious to whats going on. They do things in the most un-timely manner around here as well. For instance it it 9:44pm and the workers just finished painting the vacant apartment below us, so guess what my infant and toddler are smelling for the night.... paint fumes. The entire memorial day weekend was filled with them drilling away at that apartment literally every day. They have zero respect for the tenants that they do have. They have the nerve to be talking about raising the rent for the people that live here and I just dont understand why. They have nothing spectacular about these apartments I would spend my money else where and my family and I plan on doing just that!!!!
The apartments look nice to guest but i had some key issues. I could hear ever step the upstairs neighbors made and they were up all times of the night. i went and spoke to them and they showed me where their floor was weak and caving in. they said the apartments wouldnt fix it until they moved out so we had to deal with it. the bathroom drain was always clogged and idk how seeing as i have very little hair and didnt shave in the shower. the hallway closet was broken the whole time i was there and even when they came to fix it, they never fully got it back on track. My biggest issue was that i ended up getting deployed to Afghanistan working as a civilian for the Air force 1 month before my lease was up and even provided documents stating that and they would not let me out of my lease because i wasnt enlisted with the military. I am doing a military job working for the military but still couldnt let me out of 1 month? smh. the staff seems cool but the apartments as a business has some work to do. i didnt even mention everything.
I wanted to recognize the Assistant property manager; Matthew Perez. This guy is so amazing, its kind of hard to explain in wording, however, from the time of getting my apartment he has helped me in so many ways! He got me approved for a wonderful apartment here at Bent Tree Park when all odds were against me. He does his job like no other I have ever seen and is very caring plus understanding, anything you need done; hes on it; no questions asked. He works with you through anything, If any issues, and goes above and beyond to make sure your comfortable during the length of your stay. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things he has done and how awesome he is; and I just hopes he gets the recognition he deserves.
Stay away from this place they are cheap old and not clean to live in here. The management team is a joke dont even know there own polices. This was my first apartment to live in and i broke my lease they are so bad. They dont spay for fleas so my dogs stayed coved in them even thou everyone pays a pest fee we had a leak in are daughters bathroom it took them 2 months to come out to fix it and all they did was patch the moldie hole and paint over it. To run the microwave had to turn everything off or it would kick the braker like what a joke. They put the cheapest floors down that dont even last 6 months they say should last 5 years yeah right. Oh and price 1100 for 940 sq foot on 2nd floor is a joke are bed took up the whole master bedroom and was onky a queen size bed. STAY AWAY FROM FROM HERE.
I have been living here for over 3 years. Pamela and Matthew have done an outstanding job at handling any issues I have had and call to ensure everything is ok. These guys take their job very seriously and are always trying to make the residents happy. It is peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend this place. Rent is a great bargain for Addison and everything you need is down the street.
Ive lived here for 2 years and have no problems. The management staff is great, and is willing to help with any and everything. The renovations that were done are very nice. The parking lot was completely replaced within the past 2 months. Most of the people living here are good hard working people who just want a nice place to live. I would recommend living here.
Save your money and move elsewhere. These apartments are dark, dank, and the community is overall neglected, especially when it comes to asthetics. The landscaping, pools and playground are below sub-par. I do have nice neighbors but there are some questionable looking people here who constantly litter and look like drug dealers. The 2/2 floor plan has no ceiling lights or fans and gets no direct sunlight in most of the buildings so it is veeeeeery dark. Plan on buying lots of lamps! The master bath is closet sized and the shower drains are constantly clogged. Clearly they hadnt been cleaned before I moved in so I got stuck removing a years worth of someone elses hair and the cost of the Drano. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms sound like they are dying from emphysema. The AC units look like salvaged 1980s units and my electric bill is consistently $80+ (and thats running my AC only less than half the month). Very poor insulation which you will notice in the colder months. The upgrades are shoddy... counter-top not laid properly on the base so theres a gap if you look underneath (and you will see it sitting down in your living room) which rest on sloppily painted bases (shouldve been replaced). Popcorn ceilings, paper thin walls (be prepared to hear your neighbors intimate conversations while getting ready in the bathrooms), and wood floors that are actually laminate. Oh, and while we are on floors, the whole apartment is not level. Be prepared to run and catch a spill very fast because it will run from one side of the room to the other in about 5 seconds. Also, when I bake, my food is, again, not leveled because nothing in this apartment is on a flat surface. My tip: dont bake a cake lol (itll be about and inch or two higher on one side. Fact.). Ive lived in some so-so apartments and some luxury apartments before this, but this definitely takes the cake on being my least favorite place I have eveeeeerrrrrr lived.
I lived here for 2 years and the experience was horrible, maintenance does not speak English which makes it hard for you to communicate with the them. They change management at least twice a year and they have over priced water bills. The appliances are nice but the property is a DUMP. They will continue to make renovations and raise the rent!
Ive lived here for over a year now and hope to be here for a while. I love the location - I can enjoy the peaceful, courtyard-like feel of the apartments or drive down the road for 5 minutes to all the hot spots on Beltline. I love how close a couple of Addison parks are within walking distance. Addison Circle is also very close, without the high rent of that area. I havent had to make many service requests, but any I did make were addressed the very next day. My air conditioner went out one evening, and it was fixed by 10 am the next day and worked better than it did before.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Bent Tree Park and I am beyond pleased with the community. Between the amazing staff in the leasing office.... ESPECIALLY DIANE😍😍😍😍....the clean and upheld community, unlimited parking, and I love the apartment. All in all I’m very happy with my decision. THANKS FOR HELPING ME CHOOSE THIS PLACE TO CALL HOME.
If you are thinking of moving here, dont. If you are about to move into building 11 or just have and are OVERWHELMED by the noise upstairs and now want to move out but management says youve signed a lease and this is normal apt noise - you should know this is a known issue. They have been notified multiple times, as have been the police and the propertys own courtesy officer. They have all witnessed the noise and an audio recording was sent to management. Nothing is ever done about anything but if you point it out you will be singled out and threatened with eviction for something on your patio, despite always paying rent on time and being a good tenant. if you arrived here, you probably did not read the BBB rating of F or to what degree an F. The bad reviews you read are true and there is also a class action suit going around right now related to these kinds of issues and more.
I cannot believe I waited this long to read these reviews and to relay my experience. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for residents by the management and maintenance staff in my life. I work for a company that does resident utility services for multi-family housing, so believe me when I say--Ive seen some pretty bad service examples and issues on properties. This place takes the cake! All of the issues mentioned in the reviews below are absolutely correct! Raising of rent on units that are not worth it, poor treatment by staff, sloppy craftsmanship during the property renovation, areas of shady activity with out police presence, work being done and people accessing your apartment without notice, trash being left behind from service work, poor a/c systems, appliances that do not work, little to no insulation, gaps around doorways that are just shrugged off, connected ventilation so that you can smell everything that is cooked or smoked in units near you, terrible landscaping (although all the parts along Sojourn sure are spiffed up!) and the most important issue in my opinion-BEING MADE TO FEEL LIKE YOU ARE AT FAULT FOR DEMANDING A QUALITY PLACE TO LIVE---oh yes--ALL TRUE!!Before the most recent price hike-I was pleased enough with the cost of my rent that I stayed despite the issues. It is also the best possible location for my family and I have justified a LOT for that reason (seriously a LOT- over 4 years worth!). But I have finally reached the point that there is nothing here worth enduring this any longer once my current lease is up. I have just experienced an episode this past weekend that has shocked me beyond belief. Imagine arriving HOME and surveying water damage that has been caused by poorly trained maintenance staff and imagine that you have to watch the person who caused said damage along with 2 third party sub-contractors (who have been brought in to try and help) toss your belongings around carelessly, trample around in dirty/wet/muddy shoes, drop your belongings on the floor, shove their sweaty bodies into your clothes closet to access the electrical panel, break your sidewalk lights by stepping on them all the while carrying on conversations AND LAUGHING with each other in a language that you do not understand. If you can picture that kind of personal violation and it doesnt phase you, then this may actually be a tolerable place for you! If having to endure that, and THEN have the management office refer to that trauma as an inconvenience, would make your blood pressure skyrocket and/or bring you to tears...you will probably want to stay as far away from this property as you can!I have taken my concerns to the Regional Manager and have asked that the pictures and description of some of these items be sent on the the Service Manager of Knightvest. I will be waiting to see if anyone from the corporate level cares about what is going on at Bent Tree Park. They should. They REALLY should!
I️ have never lived here. One of my good friends didMy only experience with this apartment complexMy friend was out of town and somone used a key and walked into the apartment (either Locks were never changed for new tenant or somebody has a master key) walked out with a brand new smart tv and locked the door behind them..Management did nothing and did not take responsibility ! Imagine the safety issue .. people having keys to walk into an apartment !
Summary: DO NOT RENT HERE.About Me: I lived in this place since 2011. As of 9/30/14, no longer. In 2013, Lincoln Properties sold the property to a management company known as KnightVest. I, unfortunately for me, was a legacy lease that they inherited. Lincoln wasnt great. But, they were tolerable.Rent: In 2011, I began leasing a very affordable, nice-enough town home for $524. The last lease I signed with Lincoln (2013), $625. The new management is asking for over $775 dollars for my unit (2014). These units are simply not worth that.Improvements: In an effort to raise your rent further, you will be subjected to myriad intrusion into your privacy by third-party contractors. Sometimes with notice, sometimes not. Bent Tree will not work with you on when they do these repairs/improvements.Regarding the contractors and quality of work: Its cheap work done quickly with cruddy parts. A close examination of the fences they put up will bear this out. They replaced my windows and left gaping hole in the wall that I had to plug up with cardboard, so that I wasnt air conditioning all of Addison. It was over a month before the repairs on the window were completed, with KnightVests people no-showing on me multiple times during the process. They installed covered parking. That made parking a problem for a while. Then, a funny thing happened. People started moving out in droves this spring. Parking is not such an issue anymore. Through the entirety of February, every day from 9-7, I had a crew working on the unit that shared a wall with me. It was unbearable. I work swing shift. As a result, I was having to sleep at a friends house to get any sleep at all. Even on my off days, I had a crew of guy pounding all day on the other side of my wall.In March of 2014, I awoke in the morning to discover that my toilet had been overflowing water from the septic line for several hours. This affected several apartments in my building. The KnightVest approach to this problem was to not communicate at all with the residents and send over a contractor. He sprayed antiseptic solution on the floor, got some of the solution off the floor...and left a real mess for me to clean up. My neighbors, who were at work, came home to discover that this had happened. Again, no-one from the property contacted them or me during any of this. Maybe you could get one if the building was on fire?Speaking of which, thats an issue, as well. These apartments, despite the renovations, are old and the wiring is poor. There was a good-sized fire in one of the building back in 2012 (I believe) that damaged several units. On 8/4/14, my apartment was subject to a breaking and entering.About the Staff: A friend of mine was waiting on me one day and got the itch to go down and pretend to be a customer in the front office. He was talking to Ashley (one of the girls), who was doing what they all do, playing fake nice. However, something annoying was happening -- that damn phone the tenants call kept ringing. She looked at my friend and said something to the effect of, I hate that thing, referring to the phone. You know, the phone that youd be calling on if you had a problem and lived at Bent Tree Park. They are a terrible combination of clueless, vapid, and malicious, oscillating effortlessly between the three. The only person who seems capable of doing anything is Diana, the manager. Even then, thats not saying much. Particularly when she has been told by numerous people that her staff are poor at their job. KnightVest has an F from the Better Business Bureau and, after dealing with them for the last 12 months, it isnt hard to see why.
I assume living in this area, youre paying for the zip code, and not quality. Highly overpriced for what its worth. Seems like every week, another door is off the hinge, an appliance is going out, or theres a new surprise charge not the bill. Service is not done from days on end, and when someone finally does come, its half-assed.I would not reccommend this place to anyone, especially new to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I leaves a really bad taste in your mouth.-Leaving resident once the lease is up!
The front desk staff is great. We had the pleasure of working with Ophelia who is WONDERFUL! She deserves 5 🌟, the apartment on the other hand MAYBE 2. The place wreaks of cigarettes. ..its really intense. It also SMELLS like roaches. Which without having to look far I have seen plenty of. Both dead and alive. I opened the fridge and hello roaches. Went to the bathroom there was one staring at me from the ceiling. I have taken the situation to Ophelia and hope that it will be resolved SOON. This is my 2nd night here so I sure hope so.
This place is in a great location, and has a convienient dog park! However within one month of living here I have had a plethora of issues. My A/C broke about two weeks into my lease, this waas fixed immidiately (kudos for that) but after the A/C was fixed i then began to have a leak from the A/C unit into my kitchen. I have placed 4 work orders for the leak to be fixed. The maintnence man comes and puts a band aid on my problem and the next day its leaking again! Once it began to leak again 20 minutes after he left and worse than before! I have had a tacky bucket in my kitchen for the last 2 weeks and nothing is being done about this. I have had 3 different objects come right out of the wall (master bedroom door came off hinges, laundry room doorknob has come off of door and guest restroom towel rack has fallen off the wall) The people here are extremely nice but the management is poor only 1 of the 4 issues i have had has been resolved (master bedroom door off of hinges) I have not even been at the propety for 60 days yet! Overall I can not recomend this porperty due to the fact that nothing gets fixed and that can be embarasssing when entertainng company. Imagine a bucket in your kitchen catching water all day for weeks on end!
I Lived on this place for one year, to be honest I do not have any problem, I love this place, its clean, not roaches in there, quiet place, confortable, I wont renew mi lease only for one reason, I do not like Dallas School District. But general I love this place.. the bad thing is that when you move out they try to put more charges just to take your money away.
Worst living experience Ive ever had. Weve had issues with this place from the day weve moved and these issues still havent been addressed. Ive complained about our a/c unit time and time again and nothing is resolved. They just say its running and leave it at that. Theres no reason a thermostat should read 80 degrees when its 75 outside and the a/c is on 70. Im no expert but I dont think thats how AIR CONDITIONING operates. The ceilings is falling in in one of the bedrooms and that hasnt been addressed either. Stay away from this place and spend the extra money on something a little nicer. I would never recommend someone live here.
NO WAY WILL I LIVE HERE AGAIN, nor do i recommend this place. So many cow webs, yes large spider webs hidden out of site, but if you look you shall find. Also fireplace not working and hot and humid upstairs room. Unbelievable hot upstairs room. Horrible insulation the A/c cant keep up with demand so the electricity bill is always above $250 dollars, i cant keep up. The roaches come in through the bad insulation in the door ways and the mold build up in the not so nice vents in the bathrooms make the worst smell linger for weeks we spray oust and other air neutralizers but to no avail. Really, they make this apartments look decent but clearly the mold comes back once you live in here for a month, or two, ive spoken with neighbors who are also moving out. The only nice thing about these apartments is the parking, too bad i can set up tent on the parking lot! For Real, i would not recommend this place, its true you can here through these paper thin walls. No storage inside, nor outside-----------------check it out.....RENT HERE 2 BEDROOM /2BATH $949.00, ELECTRIC with mainly lights off A/c cant keep up $250, i asked them to put better door insulation, yea right better put multiple towels on door instead...Apt. 1901-C also to add this is not the bad heat during the day as they may say in response below, oh yeah triple digit numbers, wrong its hot upstairs 24/7, ok so there goes your general response office people....you always make it seem like your here to help, but only a couple of you are, like Sherry and Ashley....great people...
Terrible place to live. They accused me of smoking pot, fine you if you even have a bag of trash to take to the garage outside for an hour. Mean while people get away with working on there cars. Parking is terrible and the office staff is the worse. There are bugs all over and the plumbing is shot in all the units. The manger is unreasonable and on a power trip. This is coming from a bank executive making over six figures. Beware not a great place to live.
Diane Parsonage helped my girlfriend and I move into a new place, she was incredibly helpful, gave us lots of accurate information, was very straightforward, gave us an excellent tour, and was very kind and understanding through our whole moving experience. Im incredibly lucky to have had her help us with the stresses of moving. Thank you, Diane.
JUST DONT!! Seriously, the worst management! Before AND after the change. Everyone is clueless about when repairs can be done, where to pay rent (if the online portal ever reflects the correct amount), where a package is, why there are appliances falling apart that are brand new. Save yourself $1300 and a headache. You can go near uptown and get better. My lease is up and December and Im already packing!!
Really wish there was a way to put 0 stars!Ive been living here since March and have notified the office NUMEROUS times that our AC is not working properly! They send some wanna be maintenance guy who just comes and turns off the AC and leaves! I couldve done that! This is by far the worst place Ive ever lived we literally have 4 fans in each room because we are BURNING UP!I hate it here!Youll be better off living in a crappy hotel somewhere! Do yourself a favor and move somewhere else!
This community has been no. 1 on my list of where I want to live for a year. The townhome units were never available when I called so I decided to visit in person. There was only one person available in the office who was already speaking with a potential future resident. I waited patiently for at least 10 minutes AND MY PRESENCE WAS NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED. The leasing agent actually left the office to check on a unit, walked right in front of me and still said NOTHING. At this time another lady came out of the back office, looks at me and says Im on the phone right now. I know it doesnt look like it. THATS IT! Not someone will be with you in a moment, not Im sorry but were really busy right now. After this I just walked out. I had previously heard nothing but good things about this place from previous residents but needless to say I should have read some of the reviews about the office staff. First impressions are everything and Im no longer impressed.
3/10/17 Was in the office about a week ago.... young lady said that Sherry, the agent, was rude to her and was saying other negative comments..... I was in the office and overheard the conversation...... Ms Sherry informed the young lady that due to the leasing contract that she would be responsible for payment with additional fees..... Ms Sherry was not rude/short. She was stating the facts of the agreement. I dont know where this chick gets off saying that she was unprofessional. Its things like this that makes the apartment complex and the staff look bad. If people would be truthful and understand the process, there would be less lies and misunderstandings! GISH!!!!! Patricia Rodriguez you are a phony!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Where do I start!!! Sheryl Odom is amazing!! She answered all of my questions and responded to my emails in a professional manner. They have great deal and promotions when moving in. I’m coming in on one of the best!!! I can’t wait until I can call this place home! I moved to TX from LA and This apartment complex has shown much love and value of their future and current tenants! Thank you so much Sheryl!!!!Thanks so muchJalisha Britton
This condo gets worse everyday, they add $100 every time you renew the lease and you have to see my pics in this review, the second pool is gross in summer, you can find dog poop in the kids park and the dogs park is better than the kids park. If you come to see the apartments come back and see in the back the pool and the kids park.
Decided to edit my original review.New management has taken over. Cant get anything done...my lease is up in 17 days and the new place Im moving into cant even verify my rental history with Knightvest or this property.Unorganized and it takes forever to get any maintenance request resolved and accurately fixed.
Moved in January 2020 and Ms. Diane is the sweetest thing I can’t be more happy with this apartment and the staff I waited a couple of months to post so that I can give an honest review and after living after here for a while I now can honestly say that this is a great place to live in my personal opinion.
Problem after problem after problem. On three different occasions i had items shipped to my girlfriends apartment while i was out of town on work and they never magically showed up? Then called and got a little heated with them and they said they dont have to treat anyone any certain way unless they are residents and got rude with me when clearly it was there fault! . Clearly not the way to run a business. STAY AWAY.
This apartment is so oldA lot of bug, fire ants,so big roaches never seen it in my life .I cant not sleep everyday becaus i can hear neighbors ereverything .now 3am still neighbors watch tv god dammmmm it!!!. My upstairs move in last week! They are black pepole .so noise and smoke weed ,i can smell everyday. I have 2years baby i dont wanna smell weed my baby i wanna move as soon as possible!!!I already talk to apt staff they didnt do nothingI never seen like noise, dirty,a lot of fire ant ,roaches i hate this apt
I love my place I lease from Matthew he is the sweetest and he helped me with my move in me and my 12 year old daughter I was getting ready to have surgery a kidney removed the staff was very kind theyre like family over here and Pam gave me great information about what I was getting ready to happen the entire staff is great as for keeping the place up is nice the older maintenance men are a little lack a daisy on there things but I would tell anyone to move here because I feel safe and loved thanks BENTTREE
Terrible complex! The new manager Ashley is very rude and was a complete ass to my girlfriend! She has no respect and is not willing to help anyone out .... Very unprofessional and disrespectful.. If you move here you will be 100% disappointed ... I would recommend NO ONE moving there...
Horrible experience, office staff is careless and rude specially Sherry.Zero people skills, when I told her tone was unprofessional she got upset and said Im the manager I can talked they way I please... really??I will not recommended... maybe this is why they change staff so often....unprofessional, Rude so rude ...

2022-06-02I have been a tenant at this property for a little over two years and must say that I am very displeased with the customer service received here. Office staff doesnt care and when confronted about it lie and say nothing has been submitted. Maintenance requests take forever to be addressed, not completed, ADDRESSED. Then it takes a minimum of three more times to possibly be fixed. Issues are always bandaged and not adequately taken care of. We have just gotten to the point to where we dont even submit requests unless its something we just cant deal with any longer. The latest issue has been with our dishwasher. The water has been sitting in our dishwasher for over a week because it will not work or drain. My husband has called and been told someone will be out with no one showing. I have emailed with no one responding. The staff at this place do not care about the residents until its rent time or they have some partnership with a towing company to nickel and dime more money out of their residents. I used to recommend people here but take my advice, dont move here.

2022-03-29I have been renting at Bent Tree Park for many years. I pay my rent on time and I am a low maintenance tenant. I have a very sick parent and unfortunately have to move out of area to care for them. I went to discuss my options to get out of my lease today (I plan to give 45 days notice), and was basically told that I will have to pay thousands of dollars to get out without breaking my lease. Complete disregard for my circumstances and no willingness to work with me. Ofelia in the office said that she would speak to her supervisor and see if they can do anything to help, but I am extremely disappointed in the response I received after being a loyal resident for so long.I will update my review once I receive a verdict from the office…

2022-02-12Over all Good experience. When I first moved in there were a few issues that were stressful. However Pamela and the rest of the office worked with me until the issues were fixed in the apartment. Now I’m truly a happy resident because there are no more problems as of now. Friendly people in office. & they work with you diligently on any issues. Maintenance requests are slow but when they get to you. They fix it all. Thank you to the maintenance guy Webb for the swift repairs! He went above and beyond. He was only supposed to fix one thing but he ended up fixing everything I put requests in before. Even the leak under my sink.Update: the water bill is way too high for ONE RESIDENT. $80 a month when the actual water I use is less than $15/20 a month. The overpriced gas and sewer charges is what rakes the price up. I feel sorry for others that have multiple people in their dwelling. It’s a nice place to live besides that.

2021-10-05I have lived here for almost two years and cannot get enough! Pam has been absolutely lovely and supportive this whole time. She even released us from our lease and moved us to the sister apartments for a couple of months when we had a disruptive neighbor....And we came back! Best value, Sure sometimes it takes a few days to get things done, but they do a great job for such a small office! Love you guys! XX

2021-10-31If you apply here, dont be fooled by promises of timely renovations or expect responses to your emails.Overall disrespectful of my time during the application process. In August I applied for a unit, which I was told would be ready to view in week after renovations. I called in frequently (because I was never updated about the status of the renovations even thought it was continuously delayed, and my emails were never responded to) and only a MONTH later, the DAY BEFORE I WAS DUE TO MOVE IN they notified me that the apartment was ready to view. This is completely unacceptable. I never got my application fee nor administrative fee back (the fees were required to be were paid in cash through Paylease since I was out of state, which not only made it more difficult to get my money back, but also had a processing fee that I definitely wasnt getting back).

2020-06-29Recently moved in and incredibly happy with this updated beautiful apartment. The whole complex is serene, quiet, homey feeling. My boys, 12 and 7, both love it too. They have said multiple times our apartment feels like a small house. Management even replaced the carpet in both rooms due to my boys severe allergies/asthma! Ofelia was a blessing through the whole process; especially during COVID and my personal circumstances/limited time frame. Maintenance has also been great. Highly recommend this place.

2018-01-16I used to love living here. Bent tree just keeps dropping the ball lately. Here I am ON MY BIRTHDAY still trying to get something from September 15 corrected and continue bye to get the run around. I was supposed to transfer to my new unit 9/15 (all of this being planned more than a month in advance) and the apartment was not even ready to be moved into. 4:30 pm I finally got keys, however they were to the wrong apartment further delaying my move. Once we got inside the walls were soaking wet with fresh paint. You could barely breathe inside. Next, the unit hadnt even been cleaned out yet! The maids had to come and clean until about 7:00 pm. I had to reschedule my movers and got scammed by THE MOVERS to pay $175 extra just to move my washer and dryer the next day. Last, the apartment wont even take accountability and acknowledge and mend what happened. I have been extremely patient and understanding with them and in return they dont even treat you like a human being. My last resort has been to escalate my issue to the Apartment Association and to their regional manager.Update:Pamela has gone above and beyond as well as her staff! Thank you so much for caring and listening to resolve the issue. I am happy to say that I now love living in these apartments. By far the best in Addison!Thank you again

2018-07-02Ive been living here for 10 months . I havent had any problems with my apartment it self or the management team . The management team is great and I love my apartment . The reason I give a 4 star and not I have is because my upstairs neighbors is horrible its constantly loud Ive notified management of this and they have spoken with the tenant multiple times I and my partner has spoken with the tenant as well and he states that hes a professional dancer. I just believe he honestly doesnt know how loud he is because the walls are thin. Also , I wish the parking was more structured I believe they should have parking for residents and parking for visitors because when I come home at night and theirs no parking at a certain time then as it gets later in the night people visitors begin to go home so spaces become available . Overall I will recommend these apartments I have the biggest 2 bedroom unit with 2 baths and hardwood floors I believe i have an upgraded unit but , I love it and I have washer and dryer connection closet as well as a walk in closet and to top it off I have a built in vanity in the bathroom I think my money here is well spent !UPDATE 07/2/2018; THIS PLACE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT AND IT IS TRASH!

2020-09-10After I graduated college, I needed somewhere to live for 6 months and I ended up moving to Bent Tree Park. The first person I talked to was Diane. Not only did she take the time to provide information, she went out of her way to get to know me, understand my needs, and most importantly, was extremely genuine with me. Bent Tree is a great location, the staff is friendly, and moving in and out was rather simple. The amenities couldve been better, but thats okay. The main reason I am taking time to write this review is because I want Diane to get the credit she deserves. She is outgoing, sweet, very helpful, and ALWAYS goes above and beyond - every single time. Whenever I had an issue or needed help, always went to Diane. I am no longer a resident, but I hope if you choose Bent Tree, you get the opportunity to work with Diane because she will make your life 1000x easier while moving in. Simply put, Diane is amazing, and she is solely the reason I chose to live at Bent Tree Park.
