BioLife Plasma Services in other cities:
Waste of time . First time was to see if I qualified even though diabetic on insulin and went through physical just to see if I was eligable which they said I did .. I went a 2nd time and could not donate because of slight high blood preasure but said I could next time . So …. I go a 3rd time and now they tell me I can’t donate because I’m type 2 on insulin . They really wasted my time and gas and gas is’nt cheap these days . Very dissapointed with the experience with this company .
Ive been coming here for 3 years now and every time i come im treated with respect and professionalism. In particular Nick is by far the best. Alot of times people are training and even though theyre professional it still takes experience to be great at things. Nick has got it. The whole process with the dude is seemless and efficent with no hicups. Definitely deserves a raise or a promotion in my opinion. I wish i knew his last name but Nick with the beard is dope.
Dont be fooled. They get you in with the $900, then tell you, its not for your location, then you get the $850, then give you a few $100 deposit, and at your next donation, drop you down to $20.00 each donation. So Its not all they advertise, lies, lies and more lies!
Been coming here for over 2yrs, great place staff is great but .... wait sometimes is crazy .. currently donating not my appointment time was 4:55 . I arrived at 4:50 . Its now 6:08 and I am just getting poked to start the donation. And no this isnt a physical and donation just plan donation.
As someone who grew up very afraid of needles, the folks at this establishment have helped me drop the fear. I look forward to donating every week, its a nice time to pop in my earbuds and catch up on some podcasts. The employees all carry themselves with kindness, regardless of the people they have to deal with. Only critique is that they are chronically understaffed.
I’ve come here off and on for the past 9 years. The staff is great, the place is clean, you’re helping others while also making money. It’s great. Sometimes the lines are long depending on the time you go. I always bring a blanket and headphones. The rules are rules. Read them ahead of time. The coupons are great!
The staff is friendly and courteous. they care for our health and safety with knowledge and professionalism.sometimes the line is a bit long but they get us seen as quickly as they can. I do like this facility and company better than one of their competitors I used to donate at.thank you.
Most workers are nice enough but any worker who has been there for a little bit is pretty full of themselves and will still miss the veins on a regular basis. Especially the worker Yvonne . I’ve even been told by other donors that she talks about the patients badly (myself included) behind their backs to her co workers and she’s overall very unprofessional and that’s a violation of HIPPA to discuss my specific visit and others rudely. She needs to be reprimanded with her attitude or simply find another profession where she doesn’t need to deal with patients because she treats them like pin cushions and not people. Anyways I strongly recommend CSL right down the street. They’re very polite and even pay more and will work with the donors unlike biolife. Biolife will sometimes have short lines and still leave donors waiting in the chair for 20+min. Please save yourself the trouble and go to CSL and if you get Yvonne as your tech just know it’s gonna be uncomfortable, she will more than likely miss and she will disrespect you to your face and behind your back.
I have been going here for a little bit now, and I have nothing to say but good things about this location. Despite the staff constantly being yelled at and abused by patients/customers, they hold their professionalism and stay kind and communicative. There is always a wait when I go in, but what else do you expect when they offer to pay you for going there? If course its going to be busy.If you are wanting to go here, please go in with patience and kindness. The employees are the doing the best they can to make your process go smoothly. They want a successful donation just as much as you do.Its not hard to be a decent human being, and to not be a karen. Try not to get upset over the little things.I love this location, and will continue to come here as long as I need to.
I have been a donor since 2020 and have always enjoyed this location. The staff are friendly, I can generally schedule a donation appointment on their app when I need one, and I can usually get in and out in about an hour. Great location if youre looking to regularly donate plasma.
Descriminates against those with PTSD or any sort of mental health issue. If they ask you about it, just lie. Saves you the time of having to sit hours in the waiting room and have your finger poked only so they can tell you you are a risk to others on absolutely zero evidence other than their preset judgements. Poor excuse for a medical facility that supposedly cares about people.
The nurse who took my blood from my finger was very rude when I asked her questions. She said I cant talk during this process. Ive been coming here for a little over a year now and I know, you can indeed ask questions when their checking iron, weight ect. Very disappointed in her reply.
Staff is mostly helpful and friendly - except for the dude who went out of his way to tell me about his wife who stays home all day and doesn’t do enough work (misogyny much?). The frustration I have is that the wifi is consistently spotty or out completely and I regularly wait 30-40 minutes from the time I get to a bed to when I get poked. I would think that was unavoidable except that I used to donate at another center and the wait times were half that (at most) and the wifi was always consistent and fast. The reality is that these are management/staffing issues not issues with the staff themselves, though I’m guessing they take the brunt of the frustration from donors.Management needs to do better to address issues and staff the center appropriately whether that’s management at this center or regional management that needs to approve more staffing and tech upgrades.
The employees at this center are wonderful. I am a newer donor and they always are sure to make me comfortable and explain anything I am not clear on. Some days are busier than others, true, which could happen at any business. In the end the wait isnt terrible to help make medicine for people that need it, especially as Biolife compensates you for your time. They handle busy days well. It is very clean and Im confident in their safety practices.
This place has so many issues. Wait times are horrible. The pay after the New Donor Promotion is mediocre and not worth your time. There have been several occasions where Ive been skipped for people that arrived in the donation area after me, and several other occasions where my cycle on the machine was complete and I had to wait 30+ minutes just to get unhooked from the machine so I could leave. The staff is very poorly trained.Did you know that you dont even need a phlebotomy certification to work here? They will just train new people in the field... Meaning that there are employees that dont actually have any education or experience in phlebotomy practicing on donors! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I have sometimes been stuck with a needle multiples times just to get it into a vein, why Ive left with my arms bruised multiple times, and why Ive ended up with iodine poisoning 3 times. So unless youd like to have your time wasted, or youd like to risk getting hurt or sick due to improperly trained phlebotomists, Id suggest you stay away from this place.
Ive been donating here for a few years and today was the first time I was thinking about leaving without donating after waiting 1 hour and 30 min and still have not been set up to donate. Listening to the employee talk to the donor next to me for half an hour waiting to be connected has me regretting coming in today. Usually its quick but not today. Appointment was at 10:45 am today and it is noon already and not even started. Had a few people who were behind me in line already get hooked up and are gone.
For one if you call to even ask a simple question your placed on hold over an hour I don’t care how busy they claim to be I know everyone in the build not that busy that they can’t have one person to answer calls and questions this is crazy. Then when you get your blood drain for protein they don’t call you back with the results so then when you go to donate and it was an issue with your protein you can’t donate that’s a waist of my time and gas. This place is really going backwards. When I first started they were much better and let’s not start on the employees who have stank attitudes including leadership. It would not surprise me if they don’t lose a lot of people once the new plasma center opens cause these people here clearly don’t respect or value the donors that comes here.
I had to quit going here b/c of their asinine rules and dense employees. Heres a great example- during COVID they started taking your temperature right when you arrive and then again when they take your vitals. No big deal right? WRONG. They use completely different temperature taking devices for the first and second temperature check, that are obviously calibrated differently since they are giving different temperature readings. So heres the kicker- I was getting my temperature taken at the door, and was allowed to then wait in ONE HOUR + lines, only to be told at my second temperature taking that my temperature was barely over the acceptable limit and deferred and sent home after waiting over an hour and passing the first temp test(!!!!!) **I was never actually sick or running a fever in any of these instances*** I dont know about you but my time is precious. The employees are so dense that they dont even think that the thermometers might be calibrated differently. If I could give this place zero stars I would. In their eyes, youre nothing more than a blood cow, and theyre milking money from your veins hand over fist.
What is the point of making an appointment when you have to do with in line for 30+ minutes and wait 30 more minutes just to be hooked up and than wait over 10 minutes to get the needle out of my arm. I was told an hour so I plan accordingly. When I told one of the employees that I was late for work he just replied but it is for a good cause. Tell that to my boss. Plus why cant my husband be with me. It is not a HIPPA violation if I allow him to be there. They treated him and I poorly
Came today and maybe because it was about 730am but Anna and Yvonne wasn’t the friendliest. When someone doesn’t speak, I’ll say “Well how is your day?!” Yvonne said “I just got here.” And that was it. I had to say the same thing with Anna. She spoke nicely after i asked BUT then rushed the thermometer in my mouth... and started speaking with... i believed a manager... she has red hair. Didn’t get her name. A few staff have to work on there customer service.... other than that... Dee is the best! I LOVE HER! Her nice and welcoming attitude is amazing and makes coming so Pleasant! I still love this place... just some people should be abit more professional. Thanks for all you do!
Ive been waiting for over 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment. There has been no communication about the delay. The lobby is quite full, people are standing close together. It seems they are overbooking themselves showing no regard for the donors time. Im looking forward to trying out the new place.
When did appointments become the requirement and not the preferred? “Social distancing” while in line for vitals but couple feet between donation beds… Masks still required unless taking temperature because lowering masks is okay then. And then required regardless of new CDC and former Vice President stating vaccinated no longer need masks. Stations are all wiped down for sanitary reasons unless it’s the waiting room chairs and the computers where people are answering questions. Guess those devices touched by everyone is safe. 🤷🏼♂️Moved down to 1 star rating. Appointment only and yet arrive 10 minutes early and given a pager and told to wait outside. Why schedule an appointment for a set time and then be sent outside for an undisclosed amount of time? People have a schedule. They can’t spend 3 hours every visit here.
I have been donating over the last 6 months or so, about 30 times total.I have only been deferred once, as my heart rate was too high, but have otherwise not had any issues with that. The only reason I don’t rate this center 5 stars is due to one appointment when I was still relatively new, where the tech bruised me (did not even pressurize the cuff to stick me) and was overall inattentive. However, every other tech, nurse, etc that I have interacted with has been stellar. I have never had any other issues with donating, and service has only gotten more and more prompt now that the holidays are long over. I typically get in and out in less than an hour, with few exceptions. Thanks y’all!
Must have new managers that are inherently toxic. Employees seem more on edge and are much nastier.I have come on-time, like today, and they had me wait in a 30 minute line, then when I got up to the counter they told me I was late, rescheduled the appointment for 15 minutes later, and told me I had to go through the line again, and the line took another 20 minutes. So I was “late” again, all because the girl at the desk was incompetent. What is the purpose of an appointment time if there is always a backed up line and you can’t get seen until you have waited over an hour? If anything Biolife is always late to the agreed upon appointment.
People here are decent, some rude, most very friendly.Usually you would expect to wait less time while on the bed for someone to stick a needle in your arm, but nope. Waited 40 minutes in bed today, but oh well. And its more normal than not. It still usually takes about 20 minutes while on bed on a good day.If your expecting to have a appointment and come and be out in a hour, not real. I have never been here for less than 2 hours. Remember, it takes about 1 hour for the machine to draw your blood, about 15 minutes in line to get finger poke, 5 minutes on the entry questionaire and whatever from 20 to 45 minute wait while on bed. So people, bring your movies and not your popcorn nor your drink because you are not allowed.
Insanely long wait times, staff commits HIPPA violations, and poor sanitation.Don’t bother making an appointment, the employees at the front desk don’t care if you have an appointment. You will be treated as a walk in and will be in line for hours. While I was being hooked up to the machine the techs began gossiping about their regular patients and used the patient’s full names. The gossip included personal health information.During my most recent visit I was greeted by drops of blood all over the floor. One of the toilets had clearly not been cleaned since my previous visit as it was STILL covered in human feces. My tech had obscenely long nails and was wearing tons of rings and bracelets. For people that don’t know having extremely long nails and wearing jewelry during patient care is very unsanitary. Not the best practice during a global pandemic.I do want to make sure to add that not all the techs are bad, some are very kind and professional. However, the bad definitely outweighs the good.
I absolutely love this BioLife location since I am new to ATX area! The energy is lovely especially Lauren, Shelby, Ernestine, and basically everyone that works at the BioLife Austin location KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK, positive energy, cleanliness and concern for us donators. And give the employees raises extra snacks and a bonus raise they work extra hard to keep us happy and relaxed! I care about all of you because you care for me! Biolife Plasma Services will always be my go to plasma donation center! Miss you Lauren! 😁
5 months later......After 5 months I decided to give biolife another shot. Spent an hour waiting to get my vitals taken only for the tech to place the cuff on my wrong, not once but twice causing the machine to time out once with my pulse at 106 because she immediately put a second cuff on after the first attempt failed. Proper training goes a long way. The amount of time you spend waiting is not worth the amount of money you can earn at this location.Customer Service is terrible. No one greets you upon entry, or even when you approach the counter for your vitals, the first person to greet me today was the tech who was prepping me for the actually donation. There a few employees who are actually very pleasant but the rest even those in leadership could use some training on customer service. Im not sure that the employees believe in the cause that is affiliated with plasma donations. Save a life! Some of usdonors come because we want to, not because we have too. CSL Plasma will be opening soon, I wouldnt be surprised if they lost a great portion of their donors to them, myself included.
I decided to donate if the compensation was worth it, so I called and asked what I needed for a first time donation. I was told the first donation was $80 and that I needed to bring my social security card and ID.I showed up with those things and tried to donate but was told I needed an appointment. Frustrated, I went home and registered on the website and made an appointment and returned. I was told I didnt eat a good enough meal to donate, which Im sure makes medical sense except that no one advised me this was a requirement, nor was that mentioned anywhere in the process of registering or setting an appointment.I left and ate and made a new appointment and returned. I was told the first donation was $20 and that the $80 I was quoted must have been some sort of coupon that they were not going to help me locate or use.I left. Im not going to lay down in a crowded freezing room during COVID to have a giant metal needle placed in my arm by an incompetent group of confused people and have my blood pumped in and out of me for an hour for $20. Do better.
For the most part the people here are pretty friendly. Chris and Dee are super friendly and make the experience super relaxing and make you feel good about donating. Theres only been a few times where I had someone and the vibe wasnt the same but maybe they were having a bad day who knows? Overall I like coming here its a good cause and you get rewarded for it, its a win win situation. I would also recommend you bringing a sweater, jacket or blanket cause it gets pretty cold when they administer the fluids.
The center was very busy today but everyone was friendly and professional. I want to especially compliment Kristi and Cory. They were both very friendly and very good. I have difficult veins but Cory got me on the first stick without me feeling anything and my donation took less than 45 minutes. Thank you!
They take a long time, 3 hours, and the payments are very shady. Promotions and other promises constantly disappear from the inbox or promotion section. They will also only send promotions late so you can’t get the right amount of visits in on time by the deadline. And the payments are not right.Today I get a notification about a December special that was sent to me an hour after I donated. It’s for 8 visits, if I would have had it sent to me before today’s visit, I could have gotten all 8.
Ya. Lets all socially distance and stand around for a couple hrs to finally have a chair to donate for another 30-45min. Bonus points for parking which is not adequate for the volume of ppl standing around; so ya park on the street much like everyone else. They have half the chairs. Half the processing stations to check your stats/blood. Sooo they should consider having half the amount of appointments avail so they dont waste everyones time like they did for me and the many other ppl standing around for an extra buck.Update: when I use to donate it was typical for a wait for a chair but no more then 10min. It USE to take an hr, tops, in and out. They have lost structure and control of thier wait time. I sat there for 20min when I finally asked around me if they were waiting too. I left immediately after hearing it was common for there to be a 2 hr wait. BYE.
First time experience was horrible! Front desk person was training and rude! I was told I couldnt donate because I didnt eat enough. Since when is a hamburger steak and vegetables not enough food. Apparently people that are dieting are treated differently. I told her that I was doing low carb and cant have high carb foods. She told me that I would have to leave until I ate more. Not impressed with customer service at all! I trying to help people by donating my plasma. (I have positive covid antibodies) Ill go donate somewhere else where Im treated better!
Dont stress over all the bad reviews. Ive donated here twice so far and have had a great experience both times. My first time took almost four hours to do all the steps. The actual plasma draw was maybe an hour. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. You can bring headphones and your phone, free WiFi, or read a book. On my second visit I was there a little over an hour from start to finish. I have great veins so thats never difficult for techs to find. I made sure to drink lots of water and are a big protein filled breakfast within an hour of going in. These are all listed on their website. This place is not a charity and there are a few scruffy looking people who come in acting like they are entitled to donate no matter what so they can get some cash. Be a good patient and ow their guidelines and you shouldnt have any issues. I plan to continue donating.
Waste of time, I would have to say out of the 5 times Ive been only 1 was a decent Donating.. the other time it take almost 3 hours to complete a donation and thats if they dont forget you are waiting ... This place doesnt care about your time, since they get paid to be there... They dont care if youre waiting or even if you are seen... You have to be on top of them, reminding then to stick you and multiple time you ll have to request to be unhooked from the machine... and make sure if they have you retake vital to remind them your times up or youll sit there for 30- 45 mins just waiting for a retake.. and no one else can do your retake ..
If I could choose not to give a star I would. Frances is very rude. She made me feel as though my choices for my body and self are not acceptable, the lady behind me also was treated as though her choices were not acceptable. I understand that it is for the safety of the people but there is a way to say it without being rude
The amount of time expected for you to wait in line for vitual, wait for a chair or in a chair for someone and the time to donate is usually 2-3 hours on top of the drive there and back.I stopped donating for sever months and came back to this. I cant donate anymore because the amount of work I missed. I cant donate in evenings or weekends because childcare room is closed.Previously is was a 5 star plasma center, with the exception of 3-4 staff members who are always rude no matter how nice and calm you are.Staff on the floor are pretty fast. Most of them are working as fast as they can and you can see it.But the biggest issue is waiting for vitals, the line is wrapped around with 1 or 2 employees doing vitals. Why?This was a issue even before the pandemic. When there is at least 5 people doing vitals and 2 people in each section things will move faster. Also, I can tell several of them itinually go real slow between patients. Is it possible to extend the hours during the holiday season? It seems to always be the busiest season. After the new year it slows down a little and when everyone starts receiving tax return its a lot slower.Im sorry, you are are great but there has to be another way. I was counting on going this holiday season but I dont think I will be able to.
First off, according to Google, each bottle of collected plasma is worth $1,000 before the Covid 19 pandemic. This place makes enough money to pay for better staff who understand the importance of customer service. Regardless of the reviews, each person will not base their decision to come here by the reviews but by their need for money. The staff will continue to treat others the way they do and Bio Life chair holders will continue to get rich as we give plasma each time. I have 2 hours of watching the front staff dance and sing while the line is wrapped around so much that they are giving out pagers to people coming and telling them to wait in their cars because the building is over capacity.Choose this place over other plasma centers with this is mind. $20 your 1st donation in the week and $70 your 2nd donation in the week. They offered me $700 for the first 30 days and after that I will not be back.As a former business owner for several years and currently employed 70+ hours a week while building a food trailer I can certainly say the staff must not recieve very good pay. The intelligence level of most of their staff along with the attitudes they portray is substantial. I will say only a 1 person has shown me they are really great there position. She is very sweet and tries to make each encounter with as pleasant as possible. This place is what it is and will continue to be the way it is regardless of reviews. Just keep the agony in mind after the $700 and question of it is worth your time.
First time donor. I received an email stating the materials that I was to bring. The e-mail states that a meal is “encouraged” prior to donating. After a breakfast of a banana, protein bar and orange juice, I was turned away for not eating enough. I’m 60 and I’ve donated over the years. This policy needs to be re-evaluated or instructions need to state clearly the need to eat a big meal or one will be turned away.
Waste of time. They list on their website that a Passport can be proof of social security. So I go all the way there and the front desk lady rudely won’t accept it. But tells me I can use a W-2 so I pull that up. But the front page only shows the last 4 digits so the lady won’t accept this either. I know my SSN. She says that won’t work. Finally I find the whole number on page 4, so we proceed. The questionnaire for first time donors takes forever and has a timer so even when you’re done reading the question you cannot move on. Then it took 4 assistants to successfully stick my vein. Ive donated blood and had blood drawn before and its never been that difficult. But she didn’t even do it correctly because they were unable to return the red blood cells to me after the first cycle. At this point its been 2.5 hours and they make me sit there for an additional 30 minutes before I can leave. You could donate a full unit of blood and they won’t make you wait that long. Don’t waste your time.
Came in today before close only to find out that i mistakenly scheduled an appointment for the following day. In the past, Ive had to leave and come back at my scheduled time. Trying my luck, i went to the front counter.I was greeted by the awesome Lexie. Charming, funny and totally AWESOME, she made this the best visit yet.She was able to schedule me in last minute so i wouldnt have to make another trip the following day.She was also keen to point out an ongoing error in my file with the spelling of my last name. As this might cause an issue for me later, she said warmly, let me fix that for you. She corrected my file, saved me time by scheduling in this day.I just want to give this facility and staff my thanks for always being so great. Thank you Lexie!!
This was my first experience with Biolife and it was excellent. I had already planned to spend 2+ hours there as a rookie, so that was expected. I was greeted warmly and all of the staff members were polite and efficient. The restroom was a little dirty, but other than that everything was spotless. Tara was an excellent stick, I barely felt the needle go in and had no discomfort during the collection. I will be back to donate again and hope to have a similar experience.
Do your part. Donate today and safe a life. I have been coming here about 2 years now. The personal here are always helpful, have a quick conversation and maybe a joke and then scurry off to take care of another doner. The core team members that have been there through the whole Covid thing, were professionals at the least. All of that team Rocks.MY HEROS of 2021 Yall Rock👌🤙👍🙌💪🤝
I went to make my first donation after making an 11:30 appointment. I was turned away because I had eaten a banana and cottage cheese and not a large meal that morning. I dont eat heavy meals in the morning! I told them I wasnt hungry and was full, but they said go eat a meal and come back in a half hour. Have you noticed we have a obesity epidemic in our nation! Im plenty healthy and borderline obese myself, I eat plenty of food and have fat to spare. So, I ate a meal and returned as requested. I was allowed to go through vitals and the questions at the kiosk. I then waited to see the med assistant which asked me about my hypertension medication. She asked how long I was on this particular med, I stated 4 days short of a month. She told me I couldnt donate because I needed to be on it for 30 days without changes in the med or dosage of the medication. She said I could come back after the 30 days and then we could do the physical exam, retake the vitals and go through the questions again.I left this place at 2 pm, 2.5 hours of my life and my resources had been wasted due to a lack of communication on the centers side of things. They should tell everyone upfront about the 30 day medication requirements! I would have waited till after the 30 days if I had only known. So this is a heads up to anyone considering donating; make sure you are on the med for 30 days without changes before you attempt to donate..I suppose you could lie. They really should discuss this with anyone 1st; when we call and or make an appointment.Other than those issues the place seemed clean and well staffed, I cant say anything of the actual plasma donation because I was turned away. I hope this helps others not waste their time and resources!
Ive been donating her for quite some time and the last 6 months to a year it had drastically declined in service. They almost NEVER have enough staff and the last 6 times I have been here there has been a bed wait with half the beds empty because there isnt enough staff. These are also days when there have been no appointments available so common sense would tell you its going to be busy and they should schedule accordingly! It takes me about 45 min to complete my donation and the last few times between waiting for a bed, waiting to be hooked up and waiting to be disconnected I spend more time waiting than it takes me to donate...its completely unacceptable! Its getting to a point where I am about done dealing with the subpar management who clearly needs a training in schedule management.
I went here for the first time yesterday. It was my first time donating anything, and Im actually fairly scared of needles. The staff was exceptionally nice and caring. They took the time to make me feel comfortable, explain the process, and make sure I was doing okay- I did just about faint, but I notified a member of staff and he was wonderful and helped me feel better in seconds!! Overall, my experience was great, comfortable, and professional. I will definitely be going back to donate at this particular location although I live in San Marcos.
Idky people are complaining so much about this place. Most complaints are because they don’t work with this place. Schedule your appointments around your personal schedule, you choose to donate, they don’t make you. I always schedule my appointments on days off or 2 hours before I work because who knows how the day will go. But I’ve always managed to get out within the hour if not a hour and twenty minutes. I love how fast and efficient this place is. Best place I’ve ever donated. I’ve never encountered a rude worker so maybe everyone complaining about it just didn’t get their way (and I’ve been there when plenty have tantrums)
The facilities are always clean and the staff friendly and professional. The staff seems to leave the job pretty regularly so the ones that do stick around begin to feel like family. My favorite is Elena. Her words are always genuine and her smile welcoming. Its staff like her that really make the experience of giving plasma a great one!
Worst experience ever. I was going to donate only this time because I had Covid before and I had no symptoms and the nurse was really rude to me and I could barely understand her then she put a note that I didn’t want to report medications which is a lie as I even signed a doctors release form so now I can’t donate. If you do t want us to donate to help people just because you were mad then you shouldn’t even be a nurse. I tried talking to them and they won’t do anything about it even if it’s not my fault. Don’t bother going here if you want reasonable people. So disappointed.
Complete B.S. for first time donors! 1st time will take 2-3 hours- wasnt told but okay can live with it, but if havent eaten FULL meal for the day/past 1 hr cant donate. I do mini snacks thru out the day (meat/protein here, veggies here, plain snack there,, etc) but that doesnt count so complete waste of money to even drive here. Extremely irritated i wasted my morning driving here.
Place is clean, very well in certain areas. But by far rude at the desk with an older women. I made an appointment for 10:35 and go there at 10:40. Stood in line for about 8 minutes and got to the counter and she said she couldnt take me cause I was more than 10minutes. I was livid. And when I asked if there was anyway I could reschedule and she stated there were no openings at all for the day. I made an appointment and didnt even get seen when I was there within their time frames they ask ... Plus she was completely rude about the situation when she got my name written down she ignored me when I had questions. I dont believe I will be returning for my 2nd round... Ill find somewhere else
Most of the staff are very friendly and for the most part, the place is professional and clean but they are absolutely the slowest donation center I’ve ever been in. Last week I got put on a 10 min bed wait after I got screened which okay fine, I get that you’re busy but then after I got a bed, I laid there for 35 min before I got hooked up. I even saw a man who earlier, when I was already waiting 5 minutes for a bed had just gotten in line to be screened, was stuck 10 min before me, when I got the bed 20 min before him. So basically he only had to wait like less than 10 min or something to be stuck and I waited 35 min. The staff needs to be more attentive and remember who got their beds first. It took over 2 hours to be in and out and almost and hour of that was just waiting. There were plenty of staff just standing around in the middle area where the two colors switch just talking and laughing doing god knows what. I’m not just writing a bad review for one bad experience. This last incident just put me over the edge on how slow they always are.
I am recently a new donor at the Austin Center and have attempted to donate plasma 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I live in Cedar Park, drove in the rain, paid for toll road fees and gas 3 times, and was turned away for reasons that should not affect my donation.I am extremely discouraged, disappointed, and poorer now than when I started. Based on my experience, the potential for earning bonuses for repeat visits seems to be made impossible and highly suspicious considering the level of scrutiny doners are put through.Once a staff member turns you away there’s no reasoning with them and you MUST leave the building. So it’s all a matter of luck if you’re going to get in.Don’t waste your time.
I donated first in the late 90’s. Never had an issue. Donating helped me through some tough times when my three sons were younger. I began donating again a few years ago. I stopped because of the very unprofessional employees they currently have. Not all but the employees are rude and treat you as if you are bothering them and doing you a favor for coming in. I always felt proud to be helping people in need. The level of kindness and professionalism is awful. I stopped donating mainly because I grew very tired of rude employees just standing around talking and just taking their time unhooking me from the machine. Yes, it gets busy but that particular day there was only myself and one other in that section. Instead of taking me off the machine the rude girl just looks at me and proceeds to set up a new machine. Smh. Really?! She intentionally did so and saw my frustration but she didn’t care. This particular individual had an attitude each and every time I dealt with her. Very uncalled for. I was so upset and swore I would never donate again. I called the corporate office to complain. The woman that answered took my complaints very seriously and told me someone would contact me. Sooooo, the manager that worked there years ago who wasn’t a manager back then calls me. Never had an issue with her and the whole time she just made excuses for the behavior. Unacceptable! I told her I would never donate again and felt I shouldn’t, also because it started to drain me. She didn’t care. I donated so many years and was treated like that. The customer service there has depleted drastically. If I could give a 0 in my review I would.
Staff is great, place is clean, donating is quick. Theyre quick to respond if you have any questions or concerns, before, after, and during. Would happily recommend this place. I did have to wait to come back and get another physical again 120 days after Id gotten my tattoo this past summer, but that didnt bother me; I came back when I was eligible. :)
Every time I go donate , I always end up with a really bad bruise. During the donation, blood stopped coming out into the tube so they replaced the needle and the pain was bad. I told the lady who was helping me but she didnt do anything about it. Blood was leaking out and dripping down on me. She then told me that the donation was over and that they are returning my blood. It hurt extremely bad. I really think they didnt get into my being.
Returned for the first time in over a year, and was told I needed to update my physical. The lady at the front desk was helpful and kind, and Nurse Judy was so sweet. She even called me back the next day to check on me and remind me of my next appointment. Everything went smoothly and I felt at ease throughout the process.
If i could put no stars i would. I came 20 minutes late (which i understand they have a ten minute window) and told me i couldnt donate until 5:20 for the mext appointment. Not even 10 minutes later my fiance heard the same women tell another person that was also 20 minutes late since theres no line she can still donate now. My fiance was turned away cuz his veins werent “eligibile” to donate plasma. My fiance has never had issues with his blood getting drawn and has dont it multiple time but its different when he has to donate plasma. Might be different for others but just my experience.
Best time to donate is 8am-11am and 7-8pm as things wind down otherwise it gets hectic.Always clean and has a more welcoming environment then other plasma centers I have been to I love how they will play a blend of classic 70s-90s music I grew up on.The staff are some of the best in town.Keep in mind that the scheduling system can get you in even when they are over booked. On the other hand if you do not keep to your scheduled appointment to donate they cannot guarantee they can get you in on a walk in regardless if they are packed or not.The brillance of this is it helps them try to avoid being understaffed or overstaffed at any time. They do bonuses based on how many times you donate in a month. Also do referral bonus.Love the easy to work with check in system.Mens restroom has basic stall and urinal.Has paper towels dispensed by machine to dry hands and thankfully always had soap to wash hands with.Lighting is way more friendly then other areas and they do have a reliable wifi to use before and while donating plasma. They do also have a small daycare area with tv, toys, and someone always Ive seen keeping an eye on the kids.
This place is so unprofessional. They do not give you enough information to plan for a donation. The woman at the front desk was complaining about not liking her job and speaking loudly about patient confidential information where we could all hear. Instead of asking patients to approach the front counter she was shouting across the waiting area. It was uncomfortable and not proper use of a professional role in a medical environment. Many people seemed irritated and uncomfortable with her behavior along with myself. I will not be returning. I highly suggest using BPL if you’re looking into donation.
This is actually a complaint. I am pretty upset about how I was handled yesterday 8/26/2016. I went to the Austin location for my first donation b/c I was referred by someone. Upon walking in, nobody was friendly at all, no smiles, no welcome hellos--nothing. My appt was set for 7:50am but I arrived early not knowing what to expect. I am heavily tattooed and it was apparent since I wore a tank top and shorts. I managed to go through the entire intake (mind you the person who did this, saw my arm that it was completely tattooed). After going through the entire process with paperwork, scanning my right middle finger, and taking a picture, I was directed over to the chair to check my veins. She proceeds to put the cuff on my arm to try to pump my vein up, and I told her exactly where to go as far as accessing my vein. She then asks me have you had any water? I worked in the medical field before, so that whole have you had any water, makes me feel like you just couldnt find my vein. So i told her I had 2 1/2 cups before I even came in and plenty the night before. She then looks at my arm and says oh well we cannot go through tattoos. The look on my face of disgust was enough for her to know I was very very upset. You mean to tell me, I just went through this entire process, you saw that I had tattoos, for you to tell me that I cannot donate? Then she proceeds to tell me that I can just go to the one down on Airport Blvd (which is in the not so nice hood area), and I really said, so you want me to drive all the way out there not knowing their regulations either? --She laughed. Then she also tells me that there is one about an hour away. I feel that I was mishandled and that SHE just didnt know what SHE was doing. She also tells me to call back every month to see if their policy has changed as far as accepting people with arm tattoos. I am appalled to say the least! I work 50-60/hrs a week, this was MY only day off and I was excited to possibly help some lives and to be treated as such, I am now discouraged on donations. She brushed me off as If what I was doing was not important. I personally feel that since she couldnt find my vein, that she felt embarrassed and didnt want to ask for help. Also, how are you going to tell someone that the policy changes from month to month? That one month you accept tattooed individuals and the next one you do not? It doesnt make sense and I need this to be reviewed IMMEDIATELY! I am looking forward to someone contacting me, as I am a very dissatisfied person at this moment. I would think that if someone is taking the time out of THEIR lives to do something so beautiful for others in need, that they should be treated with respect---Not DISRESPECT!
I am a regular here at the BioLife in Austin. Everyone is nice as they should be from the training of questions they should say to start up a conversion, except this one girl. Elena M. I think her last name is Mendez. Anyways, from the short time Ive known her she has been great. She makes my poke go smoothly because of her charm. This girl needs to help train the others on how to be nice by being themselves.Serg
Very unprofessional and they do not respect you or your time. Don’t bother setting an appointment they will send you away and try to reschedule your time for over an hour later. Then make you wait more hours. People at the at the front desk are foolish and rude. Joking and mumbling underneath there breath with no respect for you the donator.
Super crowded. Was told a lot of things there I should have been told before, like drink extra water the day before, and what food to eat. Not to mention you get poked by techs, not nurses. I got such a bad stick they couldnt continue and I was left with a large bruise. But if you need money, I guess its an option.
This place pisses me off to no end, the staff is rude and always has an attitude with me. I’ve tried to donate twice the first time I was rejected because my temperature was low, and then I went homeAnd checked it and it was fine, so I think it was a problem with their machine. Today, after waiting 30 minutes and filling out this stupid questionnaire they told me I could not donate without a doctor’s note stating that I’m compliant with my medicine because I have bipolar. That is so fricking stupid! What does my mental health have to do with me donating plasma? This place can kiss it! During the review of my questionnaire I got up and walked out because I got sick of being denied, screw this place!
All of the employees are very nice and respectful, the money is nice, and you get it immediately after donating. The only downside is it takes FOREVER to get hooked up to begin your donation. They screen you quickly and then you go lay in a bed and the average wait time is like 15-20 min. I used to donate at a biolife in Minnesota and never had to wait more than 5 min tops. And its not that its necessarily busy. I have gone during all times of the day and it takes about the same amount of time. I dont know if its because theyre low on staff or what but Its kind of annoying that it takes 1.5-2 hrs to donate when I should be in and out within an 1 hour.
Ive never donated plasma at a place that requires identical veins in both arms. With their level of experience sticking people, this is ridiculous. Youre telling me, that even if theres an acceptable place higher or lower on the arm, you wont use it even though a handful of other plasma centers will? Thats laziness at the best and proof you dont know what youre doing at the worst.
There is an employee here that clearly hates herself and her life and she likes to take it out on donors by being rude and hateful towards them. Im using someone elses name to write this review so the hateful self-loathing employee wont be able to identify me. But if she continues to act hateful towards me I am going to get management involved because Im not going to be someones outlet for their misery.
Biolife needs to working on the scheduling they have set up. Went in tonight and people are standing outside of the build. Went in to check in and the line is wrapped around the inside of the building as well. Why make an appointment if you have to stand around and wait on them for hours.
Initially, identity verification is harder than enlisting. Drivers license and social security card needs to match. So, if youre a Jr, Sr, etc, or if an initial or letter is off, you may need to have that corrected before you are able to donate.Afterwards, the process is very simple and smooth. Schedule an appointment via the Biolife application, or just go into the location. Staff is helpful, but with so many people coming through on a daily basis, sometimes they may seem aggravated, but just have some patience.
The reason for the low rating isnt so much the attitude of the ppl working there when youre there but when you try to call and ask for information they give you attitude and scoff at doing additional work. Its disheartening when they just give you attitude. Another thing is the inconsistency of information when calling. Been waiting on my results for protein in take and they just keep saying its a doctor who will approve and when I call in its no a physician not a doctor? Just train your employees on setting the correct expectation when addressing people.
Great customer service! Easy money, free WiFi available, bonus donation periods throughout the year. Most of the staff know what their doing, and they work fast and like clock work so youre not laying around waiting to get your tuning connected or disconnected. My only complaint was when one new nurse was not very good at sticking the needle, she hit my nerve on my left arm causing a fire flash burning sensation and my arm went very numb temporarily; kind of freaky scary situation because it happened so fast; like when your leg falls asleep. They had to remove the nurse, get a new one to stop everything, give me a medical evaluation and sent me home with a donation as if I completed everything but told me I needed to see my doctor and get a release form saying I was Ok to donate again. That sucked! But other than that, this place pays well, you can donate twice a week, at least two days between donations and you can set your schedule online and adjust it anytime before you check in. Donation money vary, most are $25 the first donation, and $35-40 second donation within the same week within 5-days.
There are so many people who are out of work because of Covid, and yet the woman answering the phone seems to be bothered that I called inquiring about precautions they are taking. The website does say that they have friendly staff ready to answer questions. After reading some of these reviews its apparent this place is only providing lip service. Extremely disheartening.
I enjoy getting the extra cash from this place, but lately the hassle and rude staff have not been worth it. There was an issue with my stick and staff lied saying I refused. I still ended up getting my $50 and after that there is always something in the way of me donating. Like they are petty. I will be trying Bpl. Maybe those staff actually do there jobs. Idk.
I just went to this place for the first time in 5 months and if anything it is worse than I last remember. Still unorganized and so-called customer service people up front like Tanya that amuse themselves by ignoring & being rude to people trying to donate. I am done with this place forever.Management: keep an eye on your people or youll continue to lose good donors and only attract dirtbags like Tanya.
After donating for couple of months now, I wouldnt suggest to anyone to donate in this plasma center. It has some confusing policies that will make you lose time/money. Some physicians are rude and not well trained; I even have started to bleed after they put the bandage wrong.
The worst experience of my life.I’ve been donating for over a year and everything was great... until the day they took me off the machine without giving me the round of saline at the end of the donation(the stuff that rehydrates you, turns your blood a light red color and makes you cold). No, they took me off the machine and my blood was still very dark red. I was told I needed an adjustment with my needle because my blood flow was at a standstill, and I was told I was going to get one. The gentleman said this and never returned. Disappeared for more than 15 minutes before I was finally able to get ahold of the ONE PERSON overlooking at least 10 donaters. At this point my arm is HURTING. I tell her the whole situation, and she decides it’s a good idea to stop my donation process and send me home before my last cycle. That will be the last time I trust that a BioLife employee knows what they’re doing. Little did I know I was extremely dehydrated.I get behind the wheel and about 5-10 minutes into driving I get a wave of nausea, lightheadedness and blurry vision. I knew I had to somehow make it back to the center. I make it back hobbling, sweating perfusely and hardly being able to see where I’m going. I barely make it to the front desk and almost pass out over the desk, skipping everyone in line. “I need help.” Pale like a ghost, they roll me back to an office where I lose control of my hands, almost like they started to seize up. I couldn’t move them and I start breathing uncontrollably. I tried to get answers for the huge lump left on my left arm or why I lost control of my hands but these people don’t know anything. If I wouldn’t have returned to the Center and continued driving, I fear the worst could have happened. So thanks BioLife for the tums, water and the massive hematoma on my left arm. Sure it’s some easy side money. Money that I would usually take advantage of, but because of this horrible experience, unorganization and unprofessionalism of the company I will never be returning. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
I was really excited about coming here and donating to help someone else’s life, however I had an awful experience the second visit I had! The lady who stuck me was not clear of mind, and was talking across the room to other technicians and not paying attention to what she was doing to me. When she stuck me it hurt and I ended up not being able to get my blood returned to me. She stuck my vein wrong so it popped my vein but they told me I had an “arm hematoma”. After asking many of the tech if this happened often, they all gave me different answers. If they had their employees trained properly maybe this wouldn’t have happened. So, I lost about a pint of blood and they told me I couldn’t come back for 8 weeks, but I won’t anyways.
Unprofessional. I had a 4:20 appointment. I didnt get called to the desk til 5:08, five minutes later I was told that I only had one good vein and wouldnt be able to donate. This place is filled with a bunch of jerk offs. They couldnt even find my online registration. I will not be back.I missed a day of work and assumed that donating would be a good way to make up for lost time.Boy!Was I wrong! What a waste of time and space.F this place.I will never return.
Unlike other donation centers I have used before they require you to schedule an appointment ahead of time. They also require you to have a protein packed meal an hour before you come in. None of these things are listed as requirements on their website, and if you are used to going to other plasma centers it can be frustrating. I have never had an issue donating before, but now I have been turned away twice! This is while having everything it shows on their requirements to get started.
Serious waste of time and money today. Ive never had problems with my veins or blood draws in my past but after I showed up for my appointment I was told I hadnt eaten enough so they sent me to go eat and rescheduled me for an hour later. Then I go eat, come back, just to have them look at my veins and say they are too close together and they cant use my other atm because Im tattooed. They wasted half my day showing up, going to buy food, coming back just to take one look at my arm and say sorry cant donate?! Maybe they can save everyone time and money if they check veins first and send me to eat more later. I spent 3 hours of my life driving here, eating out, and coming back just to be sent away after one look at my arms. Thanks for wasting my time and money.
I have been donating for about 10 months now and i have to say that the experience is always great! I love the staff, the fact that everything is clean and sterile, and the atmosphere. I always feel good donating there because even if the staff doesnt know you they take the time to explain everything to you and actually care about you. Do recommend any chance I get!!! Love Love Love Biolife Plasma!!!!!
Their Donor service standards have to improve. I walked into a fairly empty facility and was told I couldn’t be seen for a physical when all the employees are literally just standing around doing nothing. It’s one of those “Oh the Ice Cream machine is broken” type of moments. Horrible.
Great concept and purpose but terrible staff they leave you sitting there when you are done. I watched 4 people leave when I was done 5 -20 minutes before each. The staff does not pay attention they just talk and walk around and act like its an issue if you call them over.
I wish I could attach photos. The people are nice but they really need to teach their staff how to listen and have more practice.I get bruises when they stick me and I ask for a red stick but dont get it.If you could see my bruise now its the side of a thumb. The guy stuck it in way too deep. I was there for way too long because he did it wrong. it hurt. I only did it for the 50 deal but last time I go there.Sorry but its not worth 20 bucks. Suck thought because some of the people are really nice. Just too many bad exerpeiences with people who hurt me.
This place can’t keep track of medical charts! I have been here twice to donate the first time I couldn’t because my iron was too low, so I came back the next day only to be told I have to wait two days before trying to donate again. I came here two months later trying to donate once more and I wasn’t able to because the previous nurse lost my chart! And they can’t make a new one. So I just said to hell with it I hate going to bpl plasma because it’s so far from my house but at least there it’s in and out.
Website is an absolute nightmare to use. Needed to change, potentially cancel an appointment, and it either gets stuck on an infinite loading screen, or takes you to a page that just says youre unauthorized. That even happened when I attempted to go to my own profile. They need a new webmaster.
I went to Biolife Plasma for the first time today, and I can say that I felt kind of exposed in a sense and was not impressed to say in the least. Now coming from DCI Biologicals I guess I am a little biased in my opinion, but upon arriving everything felt out and open and that there was no privacy at all. I arrived early as I like being early for things I am scheduled for and did not wait long but long enough for me to get in a few rounds of tetris blitz. I felt that using my fingerprint for my files and saying and typing my social security on a screen in front of others seemed kind of invasive and at that point I felt uneasy about the whole ordeal. I was then directed by the lady who was gathering my information to follow her to a plasma donation chair where they would see if I was suitable for donation. A lady came to me and the woman from the lobby area and checked my veins and then she had another guy come and look at my veins specifically on my right arm. He stated that my veins were too small and that I could try again in 90 days. At that point i figured I could either get upset and question them or walk away knowing that I never had a problem at DCI and could go there instead if I wanted. Upon leaving the lady gave me a sheet to help make my veins bigger I suppose... but no thanks.I will describe the place for those who have never been there and those who have been to DCI. Everything is out in the open such as a best buy, and as you walk in you see a big lobby desk area with chairs lined up for them to do the normal procedures as take your blood pressure, temperature, and protein test. From what I observed it seems the donor comes in and signs in using their fingerprint onto an iPad or computer then proceeds to the lobby area, waits to be called, and then sits down goes through all the tests and then after all that proceeds to the donor chairs which are a few feet away. I Did not see any televisions or snacks others described.I give 2 stars because the staff seemed friendly and the location and parking was ordeal. As for me donating here...well no thanks I will stick to DCI
Donating plasma is a very good deed and I get that, but do not advertise one thing and do the opposite. Gather your employees and agree to give the donors the same explanation when it comes to the way the payment system works. I donated one time on a Wednesday and wanted to donate again that week on a Friday and the lady on the phone didnt allow it nbecause according to the system it was going to show like a 3rd donation in a 7 days calendar; so I had to do it on a Saturday. Fine, got the $20 on the Wednesday and the $50 on Sat. The way she explained it to me is that it is a 7 days week, no week calendar. If I made donation Wed, the next Wed would be the last day of that week.Fine, according to that, I started a week donation last Wed the 16th, tried to do my 2nd donation on Friday or Sat and the SYSTEM locked those days for me highlighting them RED. It allowed me to do the appointment for my 2nd donation today, Mon the 21; that being said I was supposed to get the $50 TODAY. But NO, I got $20. I explained one representative and a manager what happened, and at the end he tells me they were CLOSED on SAT, and theres nothing they can do because the pay period starts every MONDAY. He also told me the 7 days thing is only for APPOINTMENTS, but not PAYMENTS. So, if you are thinking you make your first donation in the middle of the week and the second you can leave it for next week, THINK IT TWICE!SERIOUSLY?!, so not only I didnt get the second payment, but I was supposed to guess the system didnt let me do the 2nd appointment because they were off, which it was not advertised in the system.BIOLIFE, this is horrible customer service! I give 2 stars to the manager that didnt help at all. But, 4 stars to most of the phlebotomists, except to one of them that one day sticked the needle so far up I was in pain the whole time I had to stop the donation, and I didnt get all my blood back! And yeah, no compensation for that!
Scheduled my Intake Appointment, arrived 10 minutes early, showed my ID and verification of address. The lady, Frances, asks what I had for breakfast and I said a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats. She asked if I had anything else and I said coffee. She said she will go check with a nurse because cereal may not be enough. And she returned to tell me that the cereal was not enough Protein. They suggested I got to IHOP, Whataburger, or a Barbecue joint to eat more. They want you to eat a full meal. I stood there in shock. I was just told to go to eat a plate full of grease and return in 30 minutes. I absolutely refuse to eat unhealthy greasy foods. I told the lady this was not an option as I refuse to be overweight and eat unhealthy. So, I go to the convenience store and decide to call BioLife to see how much protein I am to eat. Over the phone I was told that I just needed a full meal; cereal with toast, two breakfast tacos (yes more grease and fat). I then asked about Vegetarians, what are they allowed to eat. I swear as the day is long, the lady on the phone said they can eat eggs for Protein they just dont eat bread. Again, in shock, I laughed and apologized for asking that question and hung up. I went inside and bought a Protein pack. I returned to BioLife and ate the Protein Pack in my car and drank water.I go inside and take the Protein Pack with me and I was told that the next lady told she needed to check with nurse again about the timing of the food consumption. Mind you, the lady I first spoke with told me to come back in 30 minutes after I had eaten something. The nurse comes back and proceeds to tell that because I ate my cereal and the Protein Pack too far apart, (cereal at 745 am and Protein Pack at around 845 am) that this was an issue. The nurse, yes the nurse, then suggested that I go to Whataburger. I stopped her and said that I was not going to eat that much grease. She suggested that I reschedule. I will not go back. How does suggestion of such an unhealthy diet pass in this place? Why would a nurse suggest that someone go to a restaurant and eat all that grease and fat? Really? This would be like me to telling my clients not exercise and let their innate ability get them promoted in life. Bottom line, if you are unhealthy and eat terrible, this place is a great fit for you. I am about to go run 5 miles because I am not healthy enough for BioLife. And no, I will not be eating Whataburger, IHOP, or Barbecue for breakfast. I prefer a healthy diet.
They wouldnt take me here because of all my tattoos. I find that extremely discriminating due to the fact that theres no logical reason to not take my life saving plasma seeing as they run tests on your blood to make sure you dont have any of the things someone would be scared to have after being stuck with a dirty needle for a tattoo which is not the case with me. So therefore this place sucks & I went to dci & theyre extremely fast and efficient although the people that go there are a little rough around the edges. They value my donations at dci & dont discriminate or make people feel like theyre wrong for having tattoos for ignorant reasoning.
I just started giving plasma for the first time at this location and I had a great experience. I did take about 3 hrs total for the entire process but they were short staffed which cant be helped. All the employees were friend and helpful and answered any questions I had. Thank you to the employees for the great help and Ill be back soon!
Quality. superior customer service. immaculate.one day, my cell battery had a mere 3% charge. you cannot use outlets on the floor because said outlets are specifically calibrated for plasmapheresis machine and nothing else. couldnt leave my cell in the lobby because it probably wouldnt be there after donation.what to do?The lovely Kashandra, quality manager, allowed me to use the plug in her office. she didnt have to show any grace or mercy. however, her accommodations know no bounds.. now that is quality indeed. AND, ones cell was in the exact position.. undisturbed. no tampering whatsoever. a clear indication of her respect towards my privacy.what else is different here? they have an occasional frequency bonus to entice your donation(s). bonuses for referring your buddies ($10-40). consistent compensation across the board regardless of amount (mL) donated. free ATM withdrawals from any of the 525600 7-11s; including the one .2 miles away. and last, but certainly not least, genuine smiles from happy employees doing their part serving humanity.. saving lives.the end.
Well I had my first bad experience here. One of the nurses tried to defur me. Do to me closing my eyes. But I believe it was favoritism. They guy in same area as me sleeped through his ordeal. Hows that? So u do Nate stay away from orange area, and women with breaded hair with glasses.
This place is amazing. the staff are friendly and all know what they are doing. If anyone has had a problem its most likly due to their own veins and not eating or drinking right. No they dont give you snacks. But were not in 5th grade anymore we dont need them. I plan on donating again when I get back in TX!
I have Chrons disease. looked on there site saw nothing saying i couldnt donate. went there spend 2 and a half hours there questions physicals ect blood test. then go talk to a nurse mention i have chrons she looks it up i cant donate. seems to me wpuld be common sense to ask people in the begining if they have any health issues before they waste half a day screwing around there
This place is so incredibly frustrating to try and plan your day around. I go before work, some mornings I am hooked up within 10 minutes of arrival, others it is over an hour, same day of the week, same time. I’m either 30 minutes early to work, or 30 minutes late. Scheduling needs a sweeping overhaul.
This is only because i cant give it 0 stars. I thouht the whole point of making an apointment is to eliminate having to wait. Well not here they think its okay to over book their appointments and have 15 people waiting. So if your on a time crunch Do Not Come Here!!!
No good wast of time the nurse sead she set my appointment for my next visit and she told me a time and day to return so I did and I go to do my computer and it says check with front desk so I did she tell me there is no avilid appoments so I told her yall set it up she like Im sorry I can set you up for next week I sead no thank you Im not coming back yall wastes my time and gas ... Im not going back there a jock ....
I am a new donor and did not get to use my 300 dollar coupon because of lab work they said i had to do and was delayed 14 days therefore did not get the money from the coupon...this is ridiculous...if I have to have lab work you should make an exception and still let me get the benefit of my coupon...i will warn my friends who are new donors about this.

2021-12-31I have been coming here for quite awhile & the staff has been nothing short of amazing. Whether they are seasoned vets or new faces...the values are held strong in this place. Ive met & made some nice friends here as well so thats always a plus coming into an establishment & it feeling family oriented. Elena was the last person Id seen before I moved away so thank you so much for the great hospitality & execution on my last visit. You made it worth while. Thank you all & going to miss a lot of you!

2022-07-15I was initially very nervous to try and donate plasma because I have anxiety and can sometimes find it upsetting to have to interact with people/strangers in public. Initially when walked into this clinic I was taken aback at how busy they were but the staff at the reception desk immediately greeted me with a warm welcome and I was able to calm down and luckily so did my blood pressure and heart rate. I was seen surprisingly quickly and although I wasn’t able to donate at first, I was given helpful advice on how to raise my iron and encouraged to come back. I returned the next day and the speediness and treatment from the staff was consistent and I’m glad that I found this location! 10/10 would recommend

2022-07-13This used to be a great donating facility that was well-run. I started donating plasma when the first time donor bonus was $1,000. However, things have gone downhill as the company (not the employees that Ive worked with, they have been great) has focused on maximizing their profits by turning you away to wait for lipid panel (7-14 days) to come back. Ive donated at other facilities and had no problems with this test. I believe that BioLife delays the results of the donor eligibility in order to pay you less for your time. Personally, I dont think its worth it to wait over 3 hours a visit for $20. Good luck!Updated response after hearing from management:Thank you for the standard copy/paste message that is bereft of empathy. Ive seen that message applied to other reviews that leave negative feedback. Im comfortable with leaving my review as is and not submitting it to your website. Thanks and good luck!

2022-04-02BioLife Austin is the best center in town. It’s clean, organized and has wonderful associates. I always ask for Yvonne. She is awesome! She is professional, friendly and really takes great care of me since my veins can be “ tricky”. She knows how to build rapport and helps me feel at ease about the whole process being successful. Oh here’s a tip, once you’re a regular donor keep an eye out for bonus incentives in the app and in your email. 👍🏽

2022-02-14I have had terrible experiences with other places. To include rude staff and bruising from negligence. Here the staff treats the people who donate with genuine care. I’m not too social but all too often I go in to donate and hear the staff ask how somebodies family is doing, or talking with somebody about a recent trip. It’s all in all an awesome experience. You’d leave with a smile on your face even if you weren’t getting paid.

2022-03-31Ive never donated blood, let alone plasma. This was a new experience for me entirely. The only thing I have found frustrating is getting the refer a friend coupon applied, which took me speaking to 4 different people 4 seperate times... even wrote in...only for 1 to figure out they applied my coupon to the wrong person, the person I referred. Luckily it got fixed, but it tells you that there is some sort of disconnect when people are checking out and hand their coupon over. Whatever system they have in place to apply it, is not working. Not sure why I had to go through 4 people on different days to get my referral bonus. Then another issue I ran into was an email they sent out. It said a 50 dollar bonus and to apply it at next visit. Whoever sent out those promotions put 1/31 and not 3/31 on the coupon. I just got it 4 days ago in my email and so did the friend I go with to donate with...anyways they wouldnt honor it despite me showing proof I just got it.

2022-05-19DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Unless you dont mind waiting for several hours. They always overbooked appointments. Whenever I make an appointment, I come here and Im in line for over an hour before I even get to the front to take vitals. I will definatly not be coming back. I would recommend trying another plasma center. Also if you say anything about why they do this, you get a very rude comment and told well you dont have to come in then so not only do you have to wait a very long time you also get treated badly. Dont come to biolife.
