Biomat USA in other cities:
I have donated plasma for years. When I moved I knew I would have to find a place to donate. I chose Grifols Biolab USA . Im glad I did. It is an up to date plasma donation center with a friendly staff. Prompt and cleanly I would invite anyone to try . I promise it to be a great start to saving lives.
If you can get a new donor bonus that’s more than $100 per visit then it may be worth it. This place is super slow. Today was 3 hours total and I was #11 (like in line to come in at open time). The short black manager with the short hair is very confrontational. She’s always looking around to see if she can confront a patient on what they are doing wrong. One time it was a girl with her eyes closed listening to music and she told her she can’t be sleeping in the waiting room. Today it was a girl sitting with her legs crossed and her shoe was touching a chair leg. Also today, she came out and yelled at the line that there’s “no loitering”. First off, it’s a public sidewalk with no businesses around but theirs. Secondly, everyone in line is there for Grifols and nothing else. Trust me, no body wants to be at Grifols (even the employees) if they don’t have to. It’s not the reason for her confronting patients, it’s how she does it. It’s almost like she’s been waiting all day for that one moment to tick someone off.Octapharma (the one on West Ave - 2.5 mile away) is run so much smoother. They take 1000MLs out of me and I’m out in half the time.
IVE BEEN COMING TO THIS LOCATION FOR ABOUT 7YRS NOW AND ALL I CAN SAY IS SINCE IVE BEEN A LOYAL DONOR THERE STAFF IS AWESOME THEY TRY THE BEST TO GET YOU IN AND OUT QUICKLY!! THERE TOTAL PAYOUT FOR NEW DONORS IN THE FIRST MONTH IS $1000!!! THEY ALWAYS HAVE PROMOTIONS EVERY MONTH! ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR QAUILIFING DONORS!!! THEY ALSO HAVE A NEW THING FOR ALL DONORS ITS CALLED THE GRIFOLS PASSPORT INSIDE IT YOU RECEIVE A STAMP FOR A PRIZE AND/OR EVEN AN EXTRA $90 FREE!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE AND ANYONE TO COME AND DONATE Right now Patients need plasma because plasma makes medicine, and patients who need medicine need more Donors like you!!!COME HELP ME SAVE LIVES !!!! THEY NEED YOU MORE THEN EVER RIGHT NOW!!!
I’m only giving it one star and don’t even want to give it that… I’ve come in as a new donor 2 times and left the first time because of the length of time it takes them to process new donors. Compared to octapharma bio life and other plasma centers biomat is just a slow moving facility so if you want to just sit there for hours then enjoy I’d rather take my business somewhere else who can handle 20 people in an hour. Just ridiculous
This place is horrible. All they do is lie and make up things as they go. I went once months ago and they lied about my referral bonus then they text me to come in again I say sure why not I could use an extra 285. I should have known they were going to make it difficult. Day 1 lie was oh I know the coupon says just screenshot and bring it in but mysteriously Im told no u need to have the text message as well. Then Im told come back Friday. I come back and the same girl creates a different lie and says oh u cant donate because u donated somewhere else already smh.its all good .thank God Im not broke .
3 strikes youre out! First they wouldnt let me donate one time because the woman who stuck my finger entered something incorrectly in the system. Literally she just typed the wrong thing and I dont get compensated for my time at all. Second is just general rudeness of the front desk staff and screeners. Ive felt completely unwelcome there more than once. Third and the final last straw is I took my friend there to donate and they wouldnt let him because his suffix wasnt on his W2. I was just told that could have been solved easily at Octapharma. That wasnt even it though. He was looking through his phone to see if he could find another W2 and they had security REMOVE US! We were literally sitting there quietly minding our own business. What if just wanted to wait for a ride or for me to donate? They are unbelievably stuck up and rude. Managers included. I feel bad because there are some great people working here too, but seriously dont waste your time. Octapharma on West pays more and is so much nicer.
Im giving 3 stars becaus for the first time I received a cupon to get a extra 200 if i donated and i wanted to use it.. when i went i showed the front desk but noone said anything. When i went in to draw my blood the phlebotomist says i had to show that when i got my vitals done... why didnt anyone in the front desk say anything?? . This just makes me not want to come back.
So I was referred here by a friend and they have a payout of $100 when u refer someone but that is a lie! U get $25 for being a new donor this place is filled with creeps and liars… the girl who poked me so hard as well she left a bruise on me!! After they pay me the $150 I will be bouncing to a new plasma center! They don’t have a working soap dispenser in the woman’s restroom either!!!
Very rude over the phone did not give warning of any problems why I be deferred I gave my phone number to be updated on if any reason not to donate I asked them why and they got mad and tried to monopolize the conversation (talk over me) and hung up on me in the middle of the conversation not to forget some nurses are nice but when I call the just want the phone to disconnect didn’t care about the question I asked I wouldn’t go if it wasn’t for some nice nurses
The awful employees that hook you up talk about other employees laugh cut up ignore people take their time say rude comments to you theyre horrible the girls will be quick to hook up a cute guy and let you sit there giving you dirty looks and the manager wont do anything they all should be fired .
I went in today as a new donor I was treated with a lot of discrimination. They said that because I have a full body of tattoos that. It was too many for the nurse to document. I asked if there was a policy stating this and the manager said no she was making a judgement call and said I can see the door. I was not being rude or obnoxious or at any point disrespectful. I just asked to see where I could find where I would be disbarred from donating because I have a full body of tattoos. She again very rudely and unprofessional said that she will not have her nurse go through all those tattoos and said there is no policy only she as the manager is saying no. I felt very low and very discriminated. She even used profanity and raised her voice at me when I asked for a corporate number and started telling me your not going to donate here. I drove all the way from stone oak to sign up. So I’m the end I will be contacting corporate because I went to the same company plasma center on Flores street and they took me with no problem. I will also be looking into legal help. Because I know that’s not a policy as well as I should have not been denied at least a corporate number. If everything was in right standing. I had no problem with being denied because of policy but not because of discrimination. The staff was very rude and the manager who was working as well should not be a manager using profanity and using statements as she did
The nurse with blonde hair was very rude to me and constantly kept saying, I should know better to bring my medications. When I was never told to bring my birth control to the appointment. I have donated in the past at other locations never was a problem. I will never go again and the wait time was an hour long.
Ive been donating for years and no joke this is the leader in plasma donations , the workers on the floor are the absolute best and the managers and nurses I mean its a well oiled machine and they are uncompared they stand alone in plasma in first place in plasma donations , I found a home here for donations , they should be holding there heads up high !!
Updated 06/2022:They need to hire people that actually want to work! This wait is absolutely ridiculous!!This place has really changed. The staff stands around talking and laughing instead of checking people in. Floor supervisors stand around talking about donors and other staff!!! Very unprofessional!!! I checked in for my 2 pm appointment at 1:50 and Im still sitting here at 2:15 waiting to get checked in!! Get it together people!!!!!!!
I’m a returning donor but needed to redo my paperwork since it’s been awhile. There was an issue with the number of piercings I have, which is fine and could get resolved. Well I was suppose to get a call about idk A MONTH AGO about the issue. Fun fact I have not received any form of communication. It’s a waste of time and they will turn you down for the slightest inconvenience.
Since my last review a year ago. This place has really improved. Everyone here is very nice and professional. They really take the time out help you and treat you like you really belong here. Ms. Rosa is my favorite she always keeps my smiling and makes me feel welcomed. I also like Ms. Luz, Ms. Monica, Ms.Keisha well really the whole entire staff. They always go above and beyond to give excellent customer service and professionalism. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone
TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I sat for over 45 min with NO ONE coming up to check on new donors or even just someone standing at the desk. No one asked Me anything except for the greeter. She couldnt answer none of My questions and didnt say anything to the other staff about someone having questions she couldnt answer. 5 new donors sitting in the lobby doing nothing but wasting time. Again, TERRIBLE SERVICE
I’ve been coming here twice a week for the last 4 months and I’ve never had a bad experience. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and professional. The place is always kept clean and even when it’s busy they get you in and out pretty quickly. Definitely the stand out worker is Monica, she is always the most pleasant person to be around and she always does a great job! Alex is another one that is always great, he also does a great job and is cool to talk to. I have a few friends that come here and they all agree that this is an awesome place!
The only pro is ms rose at the booths! Everything else was a big negative. The machines are very slow and they used the same vein everytime and melody is rude. They have tons of requirements and it doesnt feel welcoming at all, the TVs are off half the time and alot of the employees would stand around talking.
This place is great for the most part. The staff is friendly, the building is clean and seems very sterile. I have no real complaints except that it seems even if you have an appointment, youre going to be waiting a while. Ive always come with an appointment and it still takes a while to get seen. Make sure you have ample time to be here.Edit:whats the point of making an appointment if youre never seen on time?Edit 2: if I show up to my appointment 15 minutes early (like I always do) it shouldnt take 45 minutes to actually get called back to start my donation. Seems to be a trend lately. Might as well just walk in.
Staff is great! But when you come make sure you bring your own toilet paper because they have their own bathroom so they never come and check on the bathrooms in the lobby so there’s never toilet paper and when you even tell them there’s no toilet paper they don’t go back and put more and the wait is ridiculous sometimes I’ll be waiting a whole hour before being able to donate they need to have the other rows up but they won’t so it’s slow so make sure you got a charged phone.
Machines are too slow and take easily over an hour and the staff will refuse to take you off unless its over 90 minutes.when I asked to be taken off from the duration making me unwell they refused take ur time somewhere else.alsothe process is a little more easier navigated at other competitors
I came here for the first time donating anything ever and I was very nervous. The staff here was super nice to me they made me feel very good about donating and explained to me all the people I could help I would recommend this place to anybody it was very clean and well run. They compensate you for your time and you feel good about it when you leave one of the workers named Mirakel was very helpful super energetic and like I said before made me feel a lot better about donating and I definitely will be coming back.
Its a great place, really nice people working there. If youre donating plasma, I recommend to make an appointment, will be faster. Usually end of the day is the busiest time, mornings usually isnt crowded. You can make extra money and help people with your donation. Person in charge of managing the site is the best. Sometimes even if you have an appointment, youre left behind, make sure to tell you have an appointment.
Great place and extremely clean. The only issue is the high heart rate issue and being deferred for the next day. Rose, Chrystal, Galalea are awesome and Becky as most of the staff are very nice. Had one bad stick but was treated with kindness and checked thoroughly my next visit for any issues. First time was lengthy but will provide juice and a snack if you ask. Otherwise Im very happy with the experience and have been going there since July 2017.
Staff is almost always super friendly and helpful. They answer your questions without giving you attitude or making you feel dumb. The actual process is super fast (at least for me) once youre established.Ive donated at other places in Albuquerque years upon years ago and Ive never once felt unsafe in or outside the facility. Highly recommend if you want to help save lives and make $$ at the same time!
First time donating and they were super friendly checked both my brother and me as soon as we walked in. My brother has tattoos and it wasn’t a problem for him since they were over a year old. Also Dana was such a sweetheart they couldn’t find my veins but she made me feel at ease and when she tried she found it! My veins have always been a struggle to find so I’m happy she was able to help.
Been 2 years since my last donation with them and they said my last blood work done my protein levels were low. So I went on Sept 16th to get blood drawn and call back in a week after testing results come back. One week later, now they tell me they have to draw blood one more time (no explanation why) so that would mean again after blood drawn to wait another week to see if i qualify for donating plasma. I only went back cause my sister donates there and it would be great to donate together. But its just not worth it. Ill just stay with other plasma center that Ive been donating at.
I recommend trying other places before this one. Terrible management and reception service. The people in front are always gossiping and hiding behind the walls to avoid actually working. They rarely answer the phone even when it’s slow. People get sent back for physicals one at a time no matter how busy it is. I’ve watched the physician with my paper work in her hand, ready to call me, talk about something totally non related to work with another employee. I had to stare her into realizing that she needs to be calling me back. And then she finally called me back. I mean sure the extra money is nice but this place gives me anxiety.
I have been coming to this plasma center for 2 yrs now and I enjoy the people that work there, only a few new faces since I started doing this, which make me feel more comfortable when I return each visit. Also, they are very friendly. The establishment is very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone. I really appreciate the fact I can make appointments before coming, the only down fall is that you can only get one time slot per 15 mins per person now which sometimes isnt convenient for me at times. Over all great place
The staff is awesome and very professional. You rarely, if ever, have any payment problems. Plus they have all types of programs beneficial to each donor. The environment is clean and the atmosphere is always pleasant. If you dont pass your first screening with vitals, they give you advice and a chance to retake.
This place is great! Very clean and well taken care of, but they can be a bit busy and take a bit to donate. Other than that they are awesome. Everyone seems to enjoy what they do and are very professional and helpful. Shoutout to some amazing employees that I have encountered over the past few weeks...Rose, Brandy, Cameron, Dana, Christine, and Galilea and there are others whose names I cant recall right now but they are all really good. If youre wavering whether to come here and donate or not just do it, because you wont regret it. Youre helping people and you get paid for it.
I had been going to CSL for years. I stopped donating altogether for a bit and decided to check this place out . It’s great . The staff is so friendly , the facility isClean and it looks really nice inside . I got sick a few times after I donated and when I had questions about why and literally asked the same question over and over the staff was so patient and nice . The last two times I went I didn’t even feel the needle go in which is great lol. This place is really good . I’m happy I switched
I arrived at the facility last Friday. Their systems were down and they only had one nurse. As a new donor it was a little discouraging but as the place was highly recommend, I stayed.... From 10:45am-2:30pm and had to leave to get kids from school. Never got thru the process or saw the nurse. The director of the place gave me a VIP card for the inconvenience which was cool. Fast forward to today. I have the VIP pass got thru the initial screener quickly after almost an hour of waiting to see the nurse I asked why I was still waiting even though I had a VIP pass. The VIP pass is to skip the line/wait. So the director went and spoke with the nurse and I was called back immediately. The nurse then proceeded to be rude/disrespectful and threatened to have me kicked out. I spoke to the director about my pass not the nurse. I did not appreciate being retaliated against for the director correcting her staff so I left the premises and will not be returning due to poor staff behavior. The nurse was rude and disrespectful and became even more so after being corrected by a superior.
Ive worked as a phlebotomist for years. I drive up for my appointment and before I can even be seen they check the veins in my arms and tell me to hydrate and come back. I felt my own veins and they were just fine. If the lady couldnt feel those veins I wouldnt trust any worker in that facility with a needle. Waste of gas money. Totally unfriendly. Unbelievable.
My first time scheduled an appointment online for 5:30 pm and was in and out in about an hour and a half AND that was including filling out my paperwork and the medical exam. The place is pretty clean and the staff was really nice too. For the $60 + $10 coupon you can print online for a total of $70.00 on first donation definately well worth the time!
Usually great customer service but new girl with braces needs to work on her needle removing technique as it was unsually painful and her job at wrapping the wound was rushed with it coming undone almost immediately. The only time this has happened before was because the staff member was running low on wrap from her cart and she politely asked if I wanted a fuller wrap around and I declined. But this time there wasnt any reason to not make sure the wrapping isnt securely tightened and not in a place where it can unwrap. I was able to rewrap without bleeding through easily since it isnt my first rodeo but new donors would probably end up staining their sleeves. I wouldve asked her to do it again but she didnt seem approachable; otherwise she did a great job despite being newAlso, all the other staff members take off the black paper ID tag after the needle is out of your arm. I find this makes more sense as adding steps that involve manipulating your arm with a needle inside it causes mild pain and discomfort.
These people are some of the most helpful and friendliest people I’ve ever had the honor of meeting. Even though I come here once a week I feel like they care about what’s going on in my life. They’re very gentle when they handle you. They also are knowledgeable and intelligent on the ins and outs in plasma. I recommend everyone to come here, no other Plasma facility beats BioTest.
People, you need to stay away from this place until they start caring about their donors. They act like theyre doing you a favor by making you wait hours before they even greet you. Then, when they finally greet you, they have this attitude as if youre troubling them. I Used to donate here before, but stopped because I just dont have half a day to spend waiting to donate. Ive donated at other places and this is by far the worst. I cant believe anyone would give this place more than one star unless they work here and are trying to draw up business. Try elsewhere .
Great staff, clean facilities and services was professional. Only one suggestion, I have an incident at the plasma center, Im a high blood pressure patient and unfortunately I have to go to the restroom every time and today as soon I finished to donate I verily make it to the closest restroom. I believe the staff Aldo was great assisting me, but a close restroom would be a assets in case of emergency, thanks. I highly recommend this place.
This is the absolute best plasma center i have ever been to. I have donated plasma for over tens years and have never found better. The nurses are kind and very gentle, they explain the process in detail, give any material needed to hell understand the hole process. The facility is very clean and well taken of. I would give this facility more stars but there arent any. I would subscribe this facility to any and every one.
Made my appointment at 12:30 and arrived 12:15 as the email instructs. Gotta say that when it turned 1:07pm and the fact that the appointment didnt matter, I left. These people are nice sure, clean from the look of the place, but they cant keep to a timed schedule to save there lives. The website should say that appointment times dont matter at all.
Miracle is the BEST REP THERE!!!! Her heart is pure as gold and she makes you feel loved and comfortable while being in the plasma center. Her customer service is AMAZING!!!!!!! I give her 5 stars!!!! Miracle I hoped that they promoted you! Because you work hard of what YOU do!
I can say this place is clean. Professionalizum needs improvement. So I have recanted my last part of this review as it was fixed. I do want to say why would you have someone waiting 25 minutes to speak to someone about shots before they donate! Not only this but that blonde examiner was rude and would not listen to my question which is why she got a no!! I am now officially done with this place. And the bio hazard thing is unbelievable dude give ur donateders bandages. You say its a hazard but yet me bleeding everywhere isnt? If you needed to take the bandage when we sit to donated I understand that but geez. You customer service bites!! I came back to give another chance but honestly your customer service needs help.
I was wanting to donate plasma to help people who need it. My time is very valuable and this place does its best to waste time as a new donor it took roughly 2 hrs to just get told I was unable to donate and this was my second time trying to donate. This place is a joke and if your time is valuable and you do not want it wasted stay far away from this place. The staff is so unprofessional and you can tell not very educated past the little certification needed to do this job and this is coming from someone with a bachelors as well as a job in law enforcement. Words of wisdom watch out who you are dealing with it could be the big wigs that pay you small paychecks next just an fyi!!
Been coming here for a few months now and the staff here are awesome! They answer all of your questions and have plenty of programs for everyone to join. The place is super clean and that means a lot when having a needle stuck in your arm. I recommend this place to anyone considering donating plasma.
Management is unprofessional, answering the phone as if its her personal cell phone not even mentioning that the company was Biotest, I called the wrong company but my husband was trying to get his file transferred to a different donation center and all she said was We dont do transfers. I dont care how rude my husband is to you. If your professional in any way you dont argue with your customers and you definitely dont call them back demanding for an apology. So glad we use Biolife. Had she answered the phone using the company name she couldve avoided the whole entire conversation where shes arguing with her customer.
First they never answer the phone. There was no one at the reception desk for 45 mon. Next when waiting for a physical was the worst its been almost 1.5 hr and I still havent been seen. When I asked the MANAGER she brushed me off and didnt care and wouldnt even tell me how much longer. For real thats ur manager good god thats disgusting customer service.
First off let me say I have been donating plasma all over San Antonio for over 6 years. Ive been to a lot of plasma places but this one really got to me on how awful it is here. Today was my first day going here and I was not impressed with the employees and with the wait time. They employees seem not too interested and wanting to get their job done properly and in a mannerly time. Seems the employees were on a little bit of edge ready to snap or just not too happy. They made me wait so long by the time I got to the doctor my heart rate was too low because Ive been sitting for so long. And it also was not impressive when she checked my heart rate just with her hand and told me it was too low. But the machine said I was fine. Also they do not retake vital so if you fail the first Vital Signs they will not retake them and you are deferred. They only retake them by the doctor which is only there from 8 till noon. if you lose your plasma card do not expect them to give you another one you have to call the company that owns the card and then probably wait a week for it. a good thing is that they have an app and you can place an appointment but the downside is they take appointments first and walkins second. I do have to say the facility was very nice and very clean and so was the restrooms I definitely would not recommend this place. no wonder it has low scores everyone that says the same things about this place is totally true. If you dont believe me go find out. #nothappy
This place is great!! If u come on a busy day expect to wait a few hours but if u come when its not so busy like in the morning or on a Sunday its relatively quick the longest i ever waited was an hour to 2hours before i actually donated the fastest 1hr and half with donating included. Staff is very helpful and the facility is very clean if i can give 10stars i would.. I would refer anyone to this place thank you Biotest for being there when i need you the most ✌
Very unorganized. Spent 2 hours in here yesterday and finally had to leave because after 2 hours hadnt stuck me. So I come back the next day and then after waiting 45 min they could not find my file. The staff is friendly but it is very unorginized. My wife dropped me off yesterday, went to another center and was finished and back here to pick me up before seven made it to the back. Prepare to spend at least 2 hours in here if not 3.
Ever since I switched from csl plasma to biotech, I have always had a great experience . I never have to wait long, the staff are nice. I love coming to donate there. Keep up the good work Biotech. Oh and its always clean sometimes they have coffee and snack and raffles . Coolest plasma place ever!
This place is very slow. Make sure you have atleast 3 hours of free time. Ive donated here 5 times and none of my visits have been under 3 hours. Another thing you can never find the staff. They are constantly moving around and never at any of the check in stations. I would suggest this place if you have absolutely nothing planned for that day because you will spend it here!
Ive been donating for over 5 yrs in San Antonio..at Grifols . Downtown location.i just started this location by the Mall..the service is pretty good .no too much of a wait .most of them know how to stick .the one guy who works on floor Cant stick at all .He messed up twice just doing a sample...smh.So today I requested someone else..He got Mad and started talking.s***t to another donor..I heard him I guess he forgets hes wearing a mask and u have to speak up...He needs to be fired respect the donorsprofessional..Hes mad because he cant Stick .I see him mess up other people too..I hope management reads this one he needs to go..
Awful customer service. Ive donated many times in college and this place was the worst within only 5 minutes. Called ahead of time to ask about donor qualifications. Lady told me some info then told me I had to come in to ask in person for the rest. Drove all the way down there and was told i would have to sign in and go through the entire health exam (approx and hour) before they could disclose the donor qualifications. She was rude and looked at me like I was stupid to ask about qualifications. Keep in mind, I am a clean cut college grad just trying to donate my plasma and earnings to various charities.
I have been donating at Biotest since 2002 and never experienced any problems with the staff until today. So, my name gets called to donate and i was asked which arm i would like to use. I said my right arm. I was then directed to a chair that with a left arm holder. i didnt think it was a big deal but at the same time, why ask? So i proceeded to walk my chair and told him the arm holder was on the left side and he said Ok, well switch it to the other side. Meanwhile, Alexis was standing next to the chair that I was sitting in and overheard me mention the arm holder was on the wrong side. She then rolled her eyes, walked over, grabbed the arm rest, switched it over, did not tighten it, and said Its like magic, huh? and then walked away for a few minutes. Which was very rude. Instead of asking me to verify the 601 number on the sticker, she waived the sticker in front of my face and didnt say anything. This made me very uncomfortable, I wanted to talk to a supervisor. I noticed that Maria walked into Alexiss area. I then asked Maria Are you a supervisor? She replied with Yes. and walked away. Literally blowing me off.Again, I have been donating since 2002 and has never experienced ANYTHING like this before. This is very disappointing and worrisome when you feel like you cannot talk to someone when there is an actual issue. I have sat in this chair over hearing techs talk about fellow donators and how management is running this business. This is inappropriate considering the cause of donating plasma. This could have been addressed in person, but instead I was blown off, by a supervisor. 17 years, I will NEVER donate at this place ever again.
What a huge waste of time. They have go through all these steps that take over a hour then tell me I cant donate. Towards the beginning of the new diner check in they have you do a questionnaire. They ask if you are taking any medication and show a list of mediaction that you can not take when donating. The medication I take was not listed there. I then after waiting an hour am told that because I have take medications for a mood swing disorder that I cant donate and if I want to have to get off my medication for 6 months to donate! So basically no one in their right mind is going to get off there mood swing disorder medication. So I can never donate there. Mind you I have been on this same medication for 11 years and have donated plasma for 4 years with no problem. I just moved to Texas from Colorado and what an experience to hear the manager tell me that they have different rules than other places and to basically get off my medication of I want to donate there. Wow, get all the facts right away when you walk in so you dont waste your time. Terrible experience and stupid rules.
Zero stars if I could.terrible experience as a new donor. The main problem was that I was never paid for my donation.I made a donation a 10 days ago was suppose to get my money right there and then. But the card issued to me didnt work.It was acknowledged that there was an error about a week ago and was told that it would take 1-2 days to correct. Unfortunately for me the problem remained. Also the time it takes from start to finish can be several hours here.At this point I already lost hope that Im am going to get paid.So donate here if you want to take a chance and not get paid. Not to mention find yourself in a very frustrating situation .
Its clean .. Good workers i just let them do their job its funny when they cant pronounce my name but its just mistakes im always listen to music minding my business i did wait for a good couple hours thats why i figured a day i didnt had plans... I had one employee told me i the one chillest donors that come well it kinda was like people sometimes throw tantrums like its like wow act right in public maybe she felt overwhelmed.. This plasma center worth it. Give out prizes, bonuses, and good environment .
I have tried 4-5 times to donate plasma, and Ive been rejected each of those times for a different reason. Once was because the vein wasnt big enough. I can understand that, but the other reasons were all ridiculous. One time was because I wasnt dressed appropriately. I had followed the dress code exactly as outlined, but apparently skirts (it was a long skirt too) are forbidden, which is not written anywhere. I pointed out to them that its not written anywhere, but no one thinks to change the sign when literally all they need to do is retype it and print it out on a regular piece of paper. Another problem I had was that I didnt have paperwork saying what medications I was taking and why. First of all, no one tells you this ahead of time. Its not written anywhere on the website. I drove across town to get a copy of all my medical records that my doctors office had, which included my medications and my diagnoses. But I still got rejected because they werent written on the same line. I kid you not. I told them my frustration and they didnt seem to care at all. When I pointed out that there are all these hidden rules that they dont tell potential donors about, they say that the official book is 500 pages and that they couldnt possibly put them all out there. I highly doubt Im the first person on medication to try to donate. That should be a big one. If I were to get a form written in the exact format that they want from my doctors office, I would be charged $50+ for it. And knowing this center, theyd probably still find a way to reject me. So no, Im not going to pay for it. Seriously, avoid this place. They dont feel its important to warn potential donors of all the possible reasons they may be rejected. I find that shady.
The phlebotomists there are good. Theyre really nice people with great personalities. Only time I had a problem was with the blonde chick making my arm go numb. She wasnt worried and fixed it real quick . Other than that I wouldnt complain. I still come here all the time. Everythings clean. Watch out for the ghost in the bathroom making the lights flicker.
This is one of the most dumbest places Ive ever been to. I just moved here from Houston and have never went through so much just to do a blood draw. First day I came had to sit in the lobby for 45 mins before a person from the staff even noticed that I was there. Remind you that I just moved here from Houston so I dont have anything for a P.O.A just yet. The lady told me what to do and also told me when I would need to have it. Was call to do the screening by a lady named Ana. ANA WAS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. she had a very nasty attitude the whole time she was doing my screening. She snapped at me and told me that I have 15mins to get my pulse down or I would not be able to withdraw today. I sat in the lobby for 2 hours. Seen people who just came in go on to the table before me. I went back to Ana and asked her what was going on and she started snapping at me again with A RUDE AND CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE. She basically told me to just go back to the lobby and wait my turn. So after waiting for another 20 mins a nurse came and got me she checked my pulse and told me it was still to high. She suggested that I come back tomorrow early when they first open. She never mentioned anything about having a P.O.A.I came back today and was not able to be seen due to me not having my P.O.A. This was a waist of time and I want something to be done about this. I also feel like Ana owes me a public apology.
10 years ago I began donating at the old location on Broadway, which was always overcrowded & took entirely too long. Most of the complaints that I see in these comments reflect the ignorance of the donor & not an issue with the center. The staff have always been courteous & professional in both centers. However, the new buliding is structured to make things go smoother & the average donation takes a little less than two hours.
I really dont know what all the negativity is about? I just started donating there at the new location. The location is in a brand new building and clean. Looks like all the equipment is new as well. The staff friendly and punctual. The new donor process went rather quick. I really like this place.
I have been a donor for several years. I have been ro several centers and this is by far my favorite. The ladies amd gents are kind, respectful and very professional. Not to mention the center is very clean!!! I recommend all my friends and fam to go there. Tell em ms Briggs sent you!!!
This place absolutely sucks I get here and the lobby is not full maybe 10 people. I walk up to the front desk to get registered for my 1st time giving and literally Im standing there for 10 mins. The receptionist sees me but doesnt bother to check on my issue. So I unplug my headphones and Im blasting my music so she can come over. I went through 2 songs before she came to ask me to turn it down. When she asked me to I said fine can I have a registration sheet for my first time and she says they dont open until 830. Lady its 826am!!! So I walk back to my seat paperwork still not given to me and I spot this lady filling out her paper for her first time.
Very quick place been abt 4 times and everytime including my initial I was out within 2 hrs. Good staff never heard anyone being harassed like ppl are saying. The staff is friendly and knows their clients. I read but I see the conversation with everyone no matter what walk of life.
If I could give zero Stars I would. This place is extremely slow they do not care whether or not youve been sitting there for 45 minutes to an hour. If you come to this place be prepared to be here for a few hours thats just to donate. And if youre a new donor be prepared to be here for about 6 hours. And the staff talks s*** about other centers!
Worst place to donate the employees that work there are not professional at all, they talk about the donors, seems like they hate their job the only pro their is Mrs. Rose and please dont say things will change because I donated their for 5 years and nothing ever did!
This place is NOT clear and precise. I had blood work done for a iud birth control and they wanted me to wait am hour plus just to get the paperwork, if I left I had to return the following day. The woman was inconsiderate. The 2nd payment was guaranteed the first 4 donations were 60$ and mine was suspiciously 40$. DONT go here, the staff is sloppy and careless!
Wish I could give it half a star... Mind you this is my 5th donation and each time it has been like this regardless of whether theyre busy or not.I got there as a walkin on a pretty dead day and sat around for an hour before they called me up to weigh me. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes to have my vitals checked because they let people who got here after me ahead of me. It has been almost 2hrs since I got here and i still havent been called to the donor floor to donate bc YET AGAIN they keep calling people that checked in after me and got screened after me.. The place is clean though, Ill give them that...-_- I will DEFINITELY be going back to CSL first chance I get
If anyone wants to donate blood for money or even for just feeling good about yourself Biotest is absolutely horrible to go to. I went in for a first time donor to wait 2 hours then be denied because I have a tattoo. They gave me a form to have filled out by my tattoo parlor to state that they did my tattoo in a clean environment for me to donate. So, I go to the tattoo parlor and have it filled out and they dont have a scanner or a fax machine to send over the paperwork, which you would think wouldnt be an issue as the original copy was signed by the owner and had all his information on it. Wrong. I went back and handed it to them and they said they needed it in faxed format or emailed. So by that time I was pissed and went home. About 30 minutes of calming down I called biotest and asked if there was anyway to get the form to them other than fax or email which then the lady on the phone said no worries just bring in the original copy. So, I thought why not, she had put me on hold to ask someone so I gave it another shot. Wrong again. Apparently no one in that office knows what on Gods green earth theyre talking abut because when I arrived they took the papaerwork, made me wait twenty minutes and then told me they couldnt take it due to it not being faxed or emailed. At this point Im livid, and I go off, tell me what I need to do to get this done and Ill do it, Im not about to spend my day off that youve already wasted 4 hours of to go run around. So I asked them can I have it faxed from HEB or does it need to come from the tattoo place. She said as long as its faxed. WRONG AGAIN. I paid to have the form faxed from HEB only to drive all the way back and have them tell me it has to come from the tattoo parlor. So in end, if you want to waste your time, some gas, and lose your state of mind, by all means Biotest is the way to go. Although judging by the intelligence that runs the front office (which were nurses as well) I would trust them to put anything into my body period
A wonderful place with wonderful people who genuinely care about the well being of their donors. Shout out to the EXCELLENT staff Mayme, Rose, Priscilla, Mary, and Dana! Thank you for making the only Biotest Plasma Center in San Antonio a great place to make s worthy contribution!
The staff is remarkably unprofessional. The security guard was weird at first then he just began to stalk me. Then started harassing me and my boyfriend just because I come in with him. The black woman in charge she wears glasses and has a fat nose best way to describe her. She harasses people about how they dress and has to be in your business. Like Im in a plasma center not a correction facility. They are so slow my process of donating takes as long as 2.5 to 3 hours. This place is hell and the techs talk about eachother and its ridiculous
I came in today and it was no where near busy, I am a new donor and I waited almost 30 mins in front of the desk while the workers passed me by not even acknowledging I was there. I waited another 10 mins to see if anyone would help and nothing. I dont recommend this place at all.
Ive donated to many different places but between this place and csl on fredericksburg... They are the slowest possible locations.Expect to spend your entire day here. My wholeday is worth more than $32! I want to donate to help others but they test you like you need the bullcrap $32!!! Like honestly Ill just leave and spend the day donating blood platelets free because it takes lures than 3hrs!!! They make you not want to help..

2022-07-24Vicky Vicky Vicky!!! Thats why I come here. I always had anxiety about donating until I met Vicky. She is very knowledgeable and never second guesses herself. She is always in a good mood and very reassuring. I have never had a problem when she sticks me like I had in the past. Im glad that she works there so I can help save lives with my donations. I hope this location appreciates what a dedicated employee she is.

2022-04-23Originally went early in the morning was getting a little frustrated at the wait time because it was taking a bit long. Had an appointment so left and called to make sure I could come back and finish the process when I finally returned about 3pm I didn’t take longer than about an hour to be in and out. When finally asking they said they were understaffed so the wait in the morning was understandable. And they were super busy. So if donating please be mindful of the staff trying their best and please be patient. I think they were very friendly and respectful and did great. If you are trying to be in a hurry, plasma donation isn’t for you because almost anywhere will be a wait. Especially for a new donor such as myself. Other than that. I highly recommend!! 😃

2022-05-25Not a good experience. It is extremely busy at most all times and severely understaffed. A lot of people come here so it’s understandable there will be a wait but they are not equipped to handle the volume so at times it’s a very long wait to even be screened, much less to donate.I imagine management has a lot to do with that, once there was a full staff meeting right when the center opened and patients could not be seen until they were done with their meeting and management was degrading in the way they addressed staff. Told them they were not required to give them breaks by law so they weren’t going to. It was an awkward experience to be around I was taken aback they would have a meeting during business hours and stop operations. There are some good floor staff on-site so I will give it two stars for them, but overall not a good experience.

2022-05-23Completely trash!! Staff is so incompetent!! They are all just walking around starring at each other. Ive been to plenty other centers in the city, and this is by far the worst!! Youll be here all day too!! Waiting room is full and only 1donating area is open. Theyre not even calling names just standing around!! Rude staff, no one can answer questions just attitudes and I dont knows CSL would never!! Im only here because they sent a good coupon$$!!

2022-07-18The location is convenient and clean. The staff is friendly. Lab tests are delayed, I was unable to donate on my second visit since my test results were not back and it was past two weeks. Results did not arrive until the following week therefore I had to wait to donate until they were received.

2022-04-07Staff is friendly, but be prepared to kill some time there. I waited over an hour just to finally donate. By that time i had to leave for an appointment and literally wasted my time there. NEVER GOING BACK! Other companies will have you in an out In one hour. I recommend going somewhere else.

2022-07-14The staff are what make this experience pleasant. I am a regular donor and every time I come, I am greeted with a smiling face, friendly attitudes, and the customer service exceeds my expectations, every time!!! Donating may seem like it’s time consuming and boring, but the staff take your mind off of that. Plus you’re helping save a life.

2022-07-15Ive been coming for years, never experienced any issues. I really appreciate the friendliness, positive attitudes, and the professionalism of all the staff. If anyone is ever interested in donating plasma, I would definitely recommend they come and visit Grifols.
