Nice shop with a good selection of music (except no classical). Anybody who has been listening to music during any part of the last 50 years could find a favorite here. They also sell nice, reasonably-priced, new turntables.
Great selection and really good prices. If you like vinyl well worth a visit. Owners are friendly and are very knowledgeable about music. Currently my favorite Austin record store. Its location is an added bonus.

Cool little spot for used vinyls. The keepers seem very friendly. They have a turntable with headphones you could use to listen to records. They also teach lessons upstairs. They occasionally do live performances inside.
I had some old vinyl collecting dust. No LP player. These guys did me right on taking over ownership of dust. Stand up guy behind counter.
This place has it all, good rates and insanely knowledgeable owners (who work there 24/7). I also felt like I could listen to records for over an hour at the listening station and it was chill. Guitar lessons are upstairs. Get on the wait list.
The boys at BLK have a wide and varied selection of pre-loved vinyl, as well as a generous helping of new records from local Austin artists. They provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that is wholly without pretense. I pop in a lot, and theres always something groovy spinning on the turntable. Much recommended.
Please let this review serve as a warning. DO NOT go here if you are short on time. My first time in on a weekend afternoon, I was causally looking at some records. Next thing I knew the sun had set, I had multiple missed calls from my wife, and I had grown full beard. And I only got through half of the first cabinet of the Rock category.These guys know their stuff. Prices are great and from what I could get through before my wife retrieved me, their inventory is top notch. Definitely the place you need to go to round out your collection. Just dont pick up AC/DCs Powerage until Im able to get a copy first.

We found hidden gems and amazing advices to pick gifts for friends and family. Great customer service, cool atmosphere, great curation and listening stations. What’s more to ask ?
Went here once...the organization is stellar and for it being small you can find the gems that the “big dogs” can’t dream of having. Not too many 45’s but the 100 or so they have are A1, never seen majority of them anywhere, lots of 90’s Pop.
Rare finds mixed in with used vinyl.
Pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of used classics in here. Prices were the best in town as well. Definitely pop in here for a dig session.

2020-10-29Just got back from my appointment to private shop at BLK vinyl and it was such a nice experience. I picked up 8 new albums and a canvas bag. Super cool to be able to do and social distancing approved! The highlight of my trip so far! Thanks!

2019-11-22We love BLK Vinyl! Bought my husband a record player here for his birthday earlier this year and and each time we return, we find a record (or 3) we cant live without. Not only do they have a great selection, they have really fun events throughout the year. Just went to the shop to see Cave In last weekend -- it was a packed house and an awesome performance! The owners are so friendly and knowledgable that this has quickly become our favorite record store in Austin.

2022-01-11Bought $200 worth of records from these guys twice. I purposely save money to shop there when I can. Killer record store with an old school Austin aesthetic (which is sorely lacking here these days and very refreshing). Records are always fairly priced and the customer service is above and beyond. John (the owner) is a super great dude and is obviously an enthusiast over a capitalist. Highly highly recommended

2019-05-05Nice little used record store with a wide selection and a listening areas so you can listen and make sure your records play. Prices were reasonable and the staff was very helpful, even recomending new artists when I couldnt find everything I wanted. Will be returning four slaps.

2019-08-13Awesome curated selection of 70s,80s, Jazz and some modern stuff sprinkled in. Great owners who are super friendly, passionate and overall very knowledgable about all types of music. Each record is graded which I think is a nice touch that other local record stores dont do. In store guitar lessons, too plus easy location.
