This is the second time I’m using Blue Whale and the experience is always amazing! They give updates, they work well together. They’re also extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable. As a woman who was alone in yeh apartment they made me feel comfortable.
I used them to pack my things and it went great. I called them back a 2nd time to move my things to a storage unit and one mover insulted me by saying I didn’t get my house inspected correctly and continued to argue with me on how I handled my property. He was short with me and was unable to give me a “rough” eta on how long the move would take and kept saying he didn’t know, despite the moving company claiming they were able to give estimated items. The second mover overheard our exchange and apologized for his partners behavior and claimed he was always like that. I made the mistake of using them for a 3rd time to move me into my house and the couch was damaged. I can understand things like that happen and I was fine with filling out an insurance claim. This was all back in January and here we are, calling this company every week, sometimes several times, emailing and just trying to get ahold of the manager. My thoughts are that they are hoping I’ll go away and give up on getting my check. Here’s to hoping the manager can see this and finally call me back. Oh and let’s not forget the lost remote that was packed and never found. It’s not a very organized system.
In-person quote was sent quickly and modified just as quickly when the situation changed (added/removed some items). Crew was young, but very professional. The only thing that caused a delay was the dis-assembly of my sleep number bed - which despite knowing about - they weren’t knowledgeable. Good thing there are U-Tube videos and they were able to get is disassembled and reassembled.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I literally paid them $570 to rob me. They stole a very expensive gift I had just purchased for myself from my closet. They loaded my truck and then stole the item at the very end of the job. I found the evidence in the truck, filed a police report, submitting fingerprints to police, and pray that they are prosecuted. I’ve called Management several times and they haven’t done anything to help or take ownership of their shady movers. I’m very disappointed in this company.
Update: The below remains accurate, however Blue Whale has reached out to me as part of settling my complaint with TxDOT and rectified the matter. Blue Whale completed the move as originally quoted, and compensated for the small damages caused during the move. Ive changed my score from 1 star to 3 stars to reflect this resolution.---Blue Whale Movers were courteous but 3 hours late and did not complete the work, left furniture in dangerous assembly conditions, and left my home damaged.I called Blue Whale the morning of the move to confirm my appointment since I had not heard from them except when we first booked it. They stated that we were confirmed and movers would call us 20 minutes before arrival. An 8:30-9:30am arrival window turned into a 12:30pm arrival, with no apology or mention of being outside of the window.Once arrived, my movers were very friendly but clearly unequipped to handle my home. They had to ask to borrow tools to disassemble furniture, and tried to move the refrigerator without measuring for clearance, damaging our newly renovated kitchen in several areas.Being as they started 3 hours late, it was almost midnight when they finally arrived in our new Austin home. Understandably exhausted and ready to move on, our movers dumped all the boxes and furniture in our living room. They did assemble 2 beds before they left but 1 was incomplete and falling apart, fortunately I noticed before putting my daughter to bed. 0 boxes were moved to the rooms we designated, and nothing else was put together.We were charged $280 extra for having more boxes than we estimated, which is fine, it happens anytime you quote with movers. We werent discounted for not moving things on the estimate, but hey, the price was pretty cheap to start.1 lamp was broken during the move, but overall most items were handled with care. The refrigerator was banged up pretty badly from attempting to move it without ensuring there was clearance (it cleared just fine once the bottom drawer was removed), and there were gashes in the wall from furniture hitting it.The movers upon arrival told me they wouldnt hook up or install our washer dryer, saying they werent qualified to do so. Thats fine but wish they had told us this before the move, as we now have to pay someone to do it. I hope they were qualified to remove the washer and dryer in the first placeIve escalated my dissatisfaction with the customer rep who set up the move the next morning, but have yet to hear back other than to say they would be forwarding my feedback for review.I hope Blue Whale takes the opportunity to make it right and either refund a portion of my move, pay for the repairs to my home, and/or have crew come and complete what we paid for.
Had them move our entire 3000 sq.ft. household locally in Feb. 2020. Hunter Armstrong gave us the impression that they would be a professional and reliable company. During the move, a book case was destroyed (literally fell of the truck and broke into pieces) and our piano was damaged. It took them 8 month to send somebody to repair the piano, and over one year to finally settle for the book shelf - AND the check was smaller than we agreed upon. Attention, they were hiding behind a technicality that makes them liable only for 50 ct per pound of damaged good. This means if they drop your Chinese vase worth thousands, they are liable for 2 lb x $0.50 and get away with paying one dollar in damages. Calls were usually not returned, they went through 3 employees who handled our claim and the outcome after one year was absolutely frustrating. I would NOT RECOMMEND Blue Whale Moving.
Blue Whale gives you a quote, promises that they will live up to it, and then do not. They destroyed an entire entertainment center, lost boxes, tore a corner off a wall, damaged floors, didnt put furniture back together, and damaged lots of other pieces of furniture. The president Hunter Armstrong made it seem like they were a very trustworthy company, and then they destroyed our furniture and new home.EDIT 1: Updating review as I deal with company in regards to how they are handling complaint. Complaint help has started well, but so did the move. As things change, I will update.
Excellent in customer service, care in making sure my things were protected and secure. The movers were hard working and fun and were professional. I went through several moving companies then was quoted a decent price by Blue Whale. I would highly recommend and will be using them for any future moves. Bret and Ethan, you ROCK!
I have used Blue Whale several times for both packing and and then doing a big move. Ive been happy with the customer service both from folks on the phone/email and the crews that have shown up at my house. The folks who came to help with the pack (Juan, Linda, and Trina) were so quick and thorough I was super impressed. The movers, while young, were all polite and good workers. I particularly want to praise Osborne and Gus for their hard work! They even asked if they could take a water break! In the middle of summer! And while everything wasnt perfect (because nothing is), it was well done. There was an issue with one item getting damaged, but I was able to calmly and respectfully discuss it with their representatives (Ashton and Hunter) and it was quickly resolved. The only thing that could make me happier is if they could help me decide where everything is now going to go haha. Ill definitely be using their services again in the future.
Be warned, I hired Blue Whale company to move me from one apartment to another. They Broke my 60-inch OLED and they left a chair in my old apartment. I have been trying to get them to cover some cost of the TV they broke, but after the first week (it has been about three) they stopped returning my emails inquiring about reimbursement. I hired the company based on all the positive reviews, but I am slowly starting to see a series of negative reviews. If you do not want to be another negative review; then I’d advise against using this company.
I’ve used Blue Whale so many times for full moves that they’re my first call even when I have a one-off moving job but this was a first. I wanted to rearrange some furniture - move my home office to a different room, shift some full bookcases from the den to the living room, etc. - and I didn’t want to spend days (or weeks) on this part of the project. They sent three guys and the work was done in less than an hour. Even with paying the 2-hour minimum, I feel like I’m a genius for calling them. The people are always nice and seem to really enjoy their work and each other, and they seem to like their customers. They’re careful and professional, and strong!, but I keep going back to Blue Whale because they’re so warm and friendly. It’s been a tough year and my experience with Blue Whale brought me a little joy.
We did a cross town move. While the movers were polite, they were in a hurry - many boxes were dropped which resulted in extensive damage to our belongings. Plates/bowls were shattered - most of these pieces are irreplaceble. Every piece of furniture they moved was scratched. It has taken 3 months to receive a check for the broken items. Out of the approximately $550 it will take to replace the shattered items, they have offered me $200. Buyer beware!!!
I’ve used most of the big Austin moving companies and most were great to pretty okay. Ended up buying a new home on a whim and a friend recommended Blue Whale. Easy from the start, excellent communication, they arrived on time, worked hard and fast, and got all of my stuff moved without any issues or surprise pricing at the end. 10/10 would use again.
I’ve used Blue Whale repeatedly for several moves here in Austin and they are by far the best in class. Professional, polite, responsive, expedient, friendly, and also entertaining! I highly recommend them to anyone who is about to undergo the stressful experience that is moving - I trust Blue Whale.
Horrible move experience. They failed to show up as scheduled, a crew finally arrived later in the day, didnt pad anything, forced the expensive sofa through the door frame causing damage to sofa and door, wheeled a stack of boxes in then just dumped them onto the floor. Many broken items, including vintage pottery. Worse yet, they are blaming us for the sofa damage and refusing to respond to our damage claim. The company could have made right with a prompt and appropriate response to the damage claim at that point, but instead they failed at that too.
Our movers Marquis, Ravon and Max we’re on time and called ahead of their arrival time just as intended. They were polite, considerate of our belongings and worked their butts off for our family move. They inventoried all of our items and worked into the night to complete everything. They treated our stuff as they would their own and we felt incredibly secure with them in our homes. The office/admin staff were also incredibly helpful over the phone and put us at ease with the whole experience. Would definitely use again and have already recommended them to others.
They tried to overcharge me for delivering items that were on my quote and then they would not contact me concerning the damages they did to my home or furniture. I submitted the damage claim form to them several times and also called to speak with the owner but got no response. Finally filed a claim with the BBB thinking they might make good but nope, they dont care that they did damage since they got paid. Dont use these scammers, but if you do dont pay them until you are completely satisfied, which will probably never happen!
Cleo and Osbourne did an absolutely amazing job moving my house from Austin to Blanco. They were extremely nice and fun to work with and paid such detailed and careful attention to all of my furniture and delicate stuff and took extra careful care not to damage any walls or baseboards. If you make an appointment with Blue Whale I would highly recommend asking for that moving team!
This is the second time that we have used Blue Whale Moving and without a doubt they are the finest moving company in Austin and beyond. The professional approach, care, and hands on service that they provide is actually priceless! They offer all of the services that a large moving company has, but they aren’t too big to make each move an individualized and personal experience. Their storage facility is clean and organized and they want to help in any way that they can.The drivers and movers themselves are quite professional and super polite! The office and warehouse employees-Samantha, Linda, James and Sarah are outstanding to work with.We have used Blue Whale for both in-state and out-of-state moves.We are fortunate to have them in our great city! GREAT service, hands down. I can easily see why people say this is the best moving company in Austin. The movers were all very friendly, hilarious (while still remaining professional), and insanely helpful. And quick/efficient. Lucas, Cleo, and Ozzy were 5 star movers and Samantha was very helpful and flexible with my weird timeframe constraints when I was trying to set everything up beforehand. This was my first time using movers, and I have no reason to look elsewhere in the future. Theyre legit life savers, and you wont regret going with them. Thanks again, guys!
The two movers came on time and let me know when they were on their way. They made sure that they got everything that needed to be moved (even reminded me of a couple of things I forgot about). They were quick and careful with everything. All of my boxes, furniture, and electronics got to the destination safely in one piece. Very professional and would definitely use them again!!
In every aspect, Blue Whale was an amazing experience. From the initial consultation with Hunter (the president), to the packers to the movers - we could not be happier. Hunter was honest and actually reduced our price from his initial quote since we ended up selling some of our furniture and not moving it. They were flexible (we initially were going to move to a new house but instead moved everything into storage), punctual and professional. We used them to pack our house and move our house into the storage unit and then move our Pods into a separate storage unit. We could not have had a better experience during this stressful time. The people who work and own this company are really nice and professional. Even when their truck wouldnt make it up my steep driveway(truck was too long for the incline), they didnt just cancel on me but instead went out of their way to secure another truck that would make it up the driveway. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants friendly and quick service. There is a reason why they have been around since the 80s and you can see why. Ill be using them again when the time comes around to move again!
Great move experience. Terra and Samantha set us up for success. Movers were on time, professional and communicated in advance of arrival. Jeffrey, Cleo and Datron did a great job and even helped us figure out how to ‘jenga’ our furniture into storage more efficiently. They also took a few items to haul off thru Humpback.Payment was easy and very reasonable. We’ve used BlueWhale many times over the years and they always take care of us. Blue Whale Moving Company was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a moving company. From getting an estimate to scheduling a time slot to the day of the move, things could not have gone any smoother. They arrived at the front end of their arrival window and had all of our furniture fully moved to our house in just a few hours. The process was clean, friendly, and easy. I would definitely use them again.
Worst move I’ve ever had. Will definitely not use again or recommend. Pre move meeting and packing went well. Moving day was awful. The movers dropped a brand new dresser down the stairs, shattering it. Theydented the door and when asked about reporting it, the mover responded with ‘you mean the dent that was already there.’ We asked them to stop moving because we no longer trusted them to be responsible. They attempted to leave with only some of our stuff loaded on the truck before we had gotten a response from management. the driver responded, ‘it’s my truck.’ which felt threatening when the majority of our belongings were on board. Operations manager Jimmy was completely unhelpful and unprofessional and refused to send a supervisor. He repeatedly interrupted me, refused to listen when I told him what we wanted multiple times. He blamed me for the hold up and told me I was making the situation difficult. And then referred to me as ‘woman’.
I dont really write reviews, but Blue Whale Moving is THE best moving company in the 4 times Ive moved within Austin. Other companies break my items or lose pieces and call it an acceptable loss. I really wont ever use another moving company again. Blue Whale is the best. Thank you guys again for your work in a 3 story house that I know wasnt fun to handle.
We moved to a home 3 hrs away. It took 4 days - 2 for packing and 2 for the van to be loaded and then driven to the new home. The packers and crew were great - happy, polite, and professional. Missed a couple items or else I would have give 5 stars. Would definitely recommend!

I had a small-office move: two desks, four file cabinets, three chairs and some shelves. It was big enough that I didnt want to do it myself or task my employees with it, but I was worried about it being too small (or too expensive) for professional movers. Blue Whale gave me a very reasonable guaranteed price based on the dimensions alone, got me scheduled quickly, arrived and finished on time, and handled everything perfectly. Im so glad I thought of them based on seeing their moving vans around Austin for decades. I figured that if theyve been in business for such a long time, they have to be good, and they are top notch.
We were able to contact the company and schedule a move within a week. The online form was useful in getting a good estimate. The movers arrived early and were courteous and knowledgeable. Chris and Marlon were a good team and worked quickly and well together. They listened to our concerns and were able to move our washer and dryer into a tight space without removing any doors which was a relief to us. I would use Blue Whale again and recommend them.
Blue Whale moving went way, way, way beyond my expectations and made our moving experience not just efficient - it was even fun! Moving a large house full of small kids and all their stuff is not easy, but Blue Whale delivered excellent service every step of the way. We used them for packing, moving and unpacking. In each phase they were courteous, professional, friendly, communicative and responsive. The crew worked tirelessly for 8-10 hrs, stopping only for a quick lunch when I insisted. They disassembled and reassembled beds, arranged our furniture exactly how we asked, and organized our new home in the unpacking process. They folded and hung every article of clothing, grouped our pots and pans, and even moved the old boxes out of sight until pick up. The price was competitive and worth every dime.

Because of their efficiency, we finished in less than the 2 hour limit. We had a very positive experience with Blue Whale Moving! We had some furniture and a bunch of boxes to move from our house to a 10x10 storage space which already had some stuff in it. I wasn’t sure it was all going to fit, but they got it in neatly with room to spare. The three movers were courteous and friendly as well as efficient and fast. I would highly recommend Blue Whale Moving!

From the people I spoke with to book, to the booking process, to the awesome crew they sent, to the business office person I spoke with after the move was complete, it was a pleasure to work with this company. Every person was knowledgeable, genuine, patient answering my questions, and very kind. Id say they all went above and beyond, but its obvious that theyre dedicated to providing this kind of service every day. This has been our third time working with Blue Whale and it was the best experience yet solely due to the incredible team of men (+ Linda). Brett and Linda are natural-borne leaders, and whom I have the utmost respect for. Moreover, I couldn’t have been more thankful to the rest of the team: Arthur (who helped so much with problem solving) Cleo who always had a smile present, Oscar who helped advise me where to place my furniture, Rivan with the most positive and patient demeanor and last not least Brandon and Juan. I had a really bad experience with movers just a few months ago (all my son’s) and I called Blue Whale, who quoted me at such a low price I had to ask if she was sure that was correct. They quote you at a price based on what you have, where you’re going rather than by the hour and sent less movers, which worked out just fine. They packed for us and took stuff to two different locations in a timely manner. I will say they were late showing up for a first-thing-in-the-morning-move but it wasn’t a big deal. We got started at 10 rather than 8:30-9:30. They were great though, definitely recommend a local, family owned company like this!
I have used Blue Whale Moving three times and they are by far the best and most reasonably priced company. Not to mention very efficient and timely. They go way above beyond their job to make sure your move is safe and secure. I wouldn’t ever use anyone else and always recommend them to everyone. They are the best
Actually worked here, the boss’s office reflects the whole business, entirely disastrous and unorganized. Trucks in terrible condition, and thieves run the den. Do not recommend to work here, or use this company, furthermore, I have been waiting on my w-2 for 3 months and the bosses have blatantly ignored me, calling the irs to hopefully get things straightened out, but unless you want your stuff going missin, and your moving experience to be a disaster even after the move is completed (because you won’t get a response once they damage something) stay away!!! There are way better moving companies in Austin, cost effective and far more professional.
This is my third pack job and move with Blue Whale. They are hands down the best moving company and I’ve moved plenty. Moving could arguably be one of the worst necessary transitions in life, but this company makes it so much more pleasant and tolerable.From my first encounter with the scheduling to the delicate and careful pack job by Ms. Linda and Matthew, to the professionalism by my movers Juan and Miguel. They were an awesome team, so upbeat and positive. They never seemed put out and went above and beyond. Ms. Linda who has packed me three times now, is super organized and has a photographic memory. The 2 movers assigned to my local move were Brett and Arthur. They were amazing. They arrived within the time frame that I was given and called 20 minutes prior to give me heads up that they were in route. They strategically planned which items to move first and took care in wrapping all of the larger items. Both Brett and Arthur were very respectful and cordial. Brett explained the process when he arrived and addressed any other questions I had during the process. I will definitely request them for my next move.
Responsible. Responsive. Reliable. We did short term storage while our house was repaired from snovid freeze 2021... blue whale had us covered. They even allowed us to review the stored items while they were in storage in the warehouse. I will be using them again for other moving needs.
The two gentlemen that unloaded the 20 truck that I brought down from Chicago were two of the hardest working, most pleasant, respectful and thorough movers Ive ever encountered....and Ive moved several times! My apartment is not in the optimal spot for a move-in, being fairly far from parking and up 19 stairs. I had every intention of helping them unload the boxes and let them take care of the appliances and heavy oak furniture...until I dislocated my shoulder. The office staff encouraged me to let them do their job (sitting back and watching is not my strong suit) and they should still be able to get the job completed in the allotted time frame. They did it! I was thoroughly amazed and impressed! I cant recommend this company enough!
Please DO NOT hire Blue Whale Moving Company for your moves! I was one of the many people that suffered a pipe burst during the Texas Freeze and decided to have Blue Whale move my undamaged furniture down one floor to a new apartment unit. The move only took 1 hour, but when they finished and left, I discovered that two of my watches that were hidden under a dresser were missing! My father and a hired contractor saw the watches before the move, as I have pictures and videos taken to document the damage and send to my insurance company. Hunter Armstrong tried to tell me that I may have misplaced the watches in my car. I filed a police report and am currently working with an attorney to get the watches back or the value if they cannot be returned. If you value your personal property, DO NOT use Blue Whale Moving Company!
Leading up to my move, everything was great. The person who was assisting me was very informative and flexible to any changes I had made. The day of, my movers were kind and efficient; however, failed to properly secure a very large mirror in the truck, resulting in it falling in the truck and completely shattering during the drive over. These things happen, so I asked what I needed to do in this situation, and I filed a claim within a month of my move as I was told. I received a letter that my claim was received and that someone would reach out. I never heard from anyone again. I followed up with an email to the person I originally worked with booking my move with no response so a month later I reached out again and received an autoresponse that he no longer was working there. I then reached out to the general email on their website with a request for an update on the status of my claim with no response. A month later I emailed again politely asking for an update and again was ignored. If you want something affordable then this is a fine place, but just know that if for any reason something ever goes wrong during your move, you will never hear from them again!Please note that I dont like to leave negative reviews and therefore have waited months to write this review for any chance of the situation being rectified, but it does not seem like thats ever going to happen.
This is the second move I have made with Blue Whale, and they are absolutely AMAZING! I highly recommend this company, and appreciate the employees and the services they have provided me with. I also loved being able to order all of moving supplies from Blue Whale which were delivered for free, weeks before my move! Thank you, Blue Whale! You are AWESOME! Thank you to Dennis & the other gentleman who moved my home, you guys were so fast and friendly and professional! I cant say thank you enough!
I dont usually post reviews, but Im doing this to hopefully help those who are considering this company -- dont use Blue Whale Moving Services. While the movers were prompt, I was charged an extra $30 because I had two extra boxes. The movers tried to move too fast and consistently broke the boxes of books I packed, which damaged the ones that fell out. I also had books scattered across my apartment stairwell.To top it off, the movers broke my TV while moving my items. The mover took responsibility for this and told me how I could file a claim (which I appreciated). However, when I contacted the company and submitted my information, I was told that it would take less than three months to process and resolve. Its been nine months and theyve stopped returning my phone calls and emails.Although its more affordable than other places, if you want to protect your items, I would suggest using another service or moving on your own.
I had a very good experience with Blue Whale. I previously used their services in 2014, so I knew what to expect. It was a repeat performance of clear communication; a great team of workers, and I felt I got a good price. I can say that because I got bids from other movers.The entire team from the office to the guys in the truck that moved my stuff were up beat and kind. I not only would highly recommend them but was delighted to hear that they move people and their stuff all over the country!
Our apartment had a significant structural damage during winter storm UrI, and the floors above us flooded, and we lost most of our possessions and were displaced during the storm.We had to move during the storm and in the days right after it, and Blue Whale 🐋 helped us make that happen.This so the third move we have made with Blue Whale, and they are consistently on time, hard working, and fairly priced.
I was very happy with my decision to go with Blue Whale. Theyre super efficient! They were on time, gave me a call when they were on their way, & packed up (from 2 locations) in less than 2 hours. They beat me to the destination in Dallas, and barely stopped until everything was unpacked/reassembled. I had to nag them to eat! They were very considerate & helped me every way they could, and were careful to set everything up just the way I wanted. I liked the price too. It was per item instead of per hour, so I wasnt stressed about time. They were more affordable than 3 Men Movers and All My Sons
From the first day of contacting them, they were so easy to work with. They communicated with me often.The day of the move the two guys were awesome. They were quick but careful of all of my items. Friendly and professional.I would use them again and refer them to everyone I know who might be moving.
Our 3rd move with Blue Whale, we would not trust anyone else. I love the pre-move in person meeting where they inventory everything you want moved, you get a firm price, then on moving day, the inventory is pulled up again. Items are added/subtracted (if necessary), and a new price generated. I love not having surprises! Equally important are the moving crew. Weve had a different crew each time, but always the same result, they are efficient and do not damage our homes or our belongings. Totally professional. It doesnt get any better than this!

I have used Blue Whale twice (once moving from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment, and another time moving from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2 story house) and have had nothing but wonderful experiences.While every other company gave me a quote that ranged between several hundred dollars for my move, Blue Whale had me fill out an inventory and gave me a definite price based on what I inputted. I really appreciated knowing exactly what to expect. They were also very accommodating when I asked if they could make a second stop to pick up a washer/dryer that my family offered to give me.On the day of my move, I got a call saying that the movers finished they previous job early and if I wanted them to start early. They made it very clear that there was no pressure if I would rather wait for my scheduled time slot, but I opted to start the move early since it was convenient for me.They were very careful with my furniture, and took precautions to wrap up my more delicate possessions for the move, such as my two televisions, to avoid damage. When moving my king-sized bed frame, they realized that it could fit through the doorframe and swiftly disassembled it.Once they took the furniture to my new house, they asked me where I wanted everything and moved it all to its proper place quickly.All in all, Blue Whale was a delightful combination of quick and careful, with extremely transparent pricing.
I have used this company several times, and have had the owner move things for me. I have always been very pleased. This time I was disappointed, though, that my movers, though polite, did not observe sanitary precautions: one of them did not even have a mask, they used old gloves, had sweat dripping over my furniture and had trouble with social distancing. They also damaged one of my bookshelves. So, this particular crew does not deserve more than three stars, but the business itself is very solid and reliable.
Even the best move brings with it stress and nervousness on behalf of the person moving.But the people from blue whale moving company from the people on the telephone when we first called, to the guys who showed up to help us on move day, were all awesome. They just had a general mellowness about them even though they were professional. People who are moving are often uptight and they need that balancing energy. Edgar, the lead guy who showed up on move day could not have been better. Despite his younger age, his level of professionalism exceeded his experience. And he intuitively knew how to solve problems on the Fly.Not only would I recommend blue whale moving company but if I had a small job or stories job I would definitely use them again myself.
Its hard to describe the nightmare situation we experienced with Blue Whale and our claim is still being ignored over a month later. They arrived late and unprepared. They attempted to cancel in the middle of the move. They put huge holes in the walls of the place I was moving out of. They damaged almost every item including our fridge and washing machine which still hasnt been resolved in our claim. We have emailed and called and are ignored. From the stress of the move to dealing with damaged items and now for them not to make it right, I have no choice but to post this review to warn others against using this company.
Scheduling was a breeze. There was so problem with the date and time I chose.I really like that they charge based on what they move. It made it easier for me to manage my moving budget by shifting some things over to my new house myself to bring down the cost on my scheduled moving day.My movers were professional and personable. There was no hesitation once they showed up, they just got right to work.It was the fastest and easiest move I have ever made. I will absolutely use Blue Whale Moving again if we ever move out of this house.
Ive used Blue Whale for three moves. I like the per item pricing. They also have the ability to store your items if you have some time between places like I did. My new place wasnt available or two weeks after lease expiration so they scheduled the move-out and stored my items until I was ready to move to the new place. Very convenient to have everything done by one company. Movers and staff are friendly and responsive.
As we all know moving is hard. Sometimes the move goes great and sometimes the move is rocky. This company from the start was great, unfortunately during the move things broke/got damaged. With COVID and life craziness the owner took it upon himself to call me directly to address my claim concerns. I feel like he went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you Blue Whale team for dealing with me :).
Juan and his team from Blue Whale were absolutely fantastic! They arrived on time at 9:00am, were friendly but professional, worked hard and fast, and had my 2700 square foot house moved from south Austin and settled into Round Rock by 5:15pm. Communication from the home office before the move was timely and complete, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend them.
Ive used quite a few different moving companies over the years, and I was shocked at how awful Blue Whales services were in comparison, on every level. It would appear their business model is to underquote, and once your property is loaded on their trucks, drastically increase the price, knowing youd rather have the experience over with than raise a fuss. When I did bring my concerns to the team, they offloaded me to a higher up, who took great pains to condescend and belittle my concerns, and instead decided to explain how adding numbers together resulted in a larger number. Unsatisfied, I followed up the chain to the President, Hunter. Instead of being met like a customer with a concern, I was treated more like a nuisance and discarded quickly, I assume so he could get on the phone with the next unhappy customer and sweep their concerns under the rug as well.Aside from the awful customer service and predatory pricing practices, the movers themselves showed up in a truck that looked like it had not been serviced in years. They loaded my belongings onto the truck without properly wrapping and protecting any of the furniture. We agreed to meet at the next location, and I waited for them to show up for at least 30 minutes before giving them a call, and I was assured they were almost there. 30 additional minutes passed by before I called again, and they notified me that they in fact were not almost there but that the truck had broken down in front of the first location. I understand things happen, and sometimes trucks break down, but it baffled me why I had to call the team to get this information, and why they had told me they were almost there when the truck was broken down on the side of the road.You would be best served going with any number of different moving companies in Austin. In my experience, every single one of them will result in less stress and dissatisfaction than Blue Whale.
Blue Whale has moved us three times this year in order to get into our newly built house. All three moves were wonderful experiences in every way. I have been totally impressed with the professionalism, friendliness and efficiency of all the crews that moved us. We also utilized Blue Whales storage and were totally pleased with that also. I highly recommend them !!!
Talk about a weight off our shoulders! Brett and his crew (Jeffery & Arthur) were a huge relief for this move. They even tackled the obnoxious cul-de-sac like champs! Great service. Quote was spot on even if I had a few items switched around. The person I dealt with for the booking was very professional, courteous and very clear about expectations and she laughed at my mom jokes 🤣🤣. The 3 guys who came were on time, courteous, professional and resourceful when faced with some challenges in the move. Price was good for the service. I’ve used many different services over the years and this one is by far the easiest one to deal with - AND no surprises. Would recommend to give them a try and compare to the competition. They did not require an “on site” visit to provide a quote , I gave them what needed to be moved from where to where and boom. All others were evasive and trying to give me a run for my money. I am busy with heavy work schedule, don’t have time for shenanigans. Blue Whale delivered! I’ll definitively will use them again if/when I move again (and I know I will at some point lol)
Blue Whale has moved our family multiple times and each time we had a great experience. The even moved our baby grand piano to my daughters house in Houston. We had a small move, only a handful of heavy furniture, and a couple dozen boxes, but Chaz and Jose were extremely efficient. More importantly, they protected our furniture extremely well and quickly re-assembled our bed. The team was awesome and very efficient. Moved everything from a 10x10 storage unit, plus a full living room and bedroom set from a 2nd floor apartment into our new house, all under 5 hours! The guys were extremely nice and punctual. I would highly recommend to any one moving locally because it was done very fast and the price was fair, compared to other local movers.
The two guys that moved us were very polite we got along very well. I feel bad about the weather. Who wouldve known it was going to rain today when I set up my appointment. LARGE GOLD MIRROR WAS BROKEN ON THE SIDE. IM NOT ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING BECAUSE IM HAVING NEW FLOODS INSTALLED, SO WHEN I DO UNPACK EVERYTHING I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF I FIND ANYTHING MORE BROKEN.
Ive moved several times with Blue Whale. I was surprised that the two-man crew did not employ the safe practice of wearing face masks. They also did not arrive in a Blue Whale Company truck, which was confusing to me. The estimated arrival time changed a few times. Still and all, the crew was polite and accommodating, and got the job done.
We were moving locally and Blue Whale was a great choice. Flexible options on exactly what services they would perform is an excellent benefit to the consumer. The initial estimate ended up being a bit higher than actual. The move was well done by pleasant, courteous guys who took good care of the goods - nothing damaged and no walls banged.
We recently moved from our home to a temporary apartment while waiting for our new home to be completed. This was a complicated move since the majority of our belongings had to be moved into Blue Whales storage facility for several moonths. Hunter Armstrong was a pleasure to work with and we will definitely work with Hunter and Blue Whale again in the future. We can also highly recommend their junk removal arm, Humpback Whale. They picked up items that Salvation Army couldnt take in a very timely manner. We definitely recommend Blue Whale and Humpback Whale.
Lost my belongings during a storage move. Broke a lot of my porcelain items. Broke/dentend my appliance. Said it would be cover under their insurance. Every email we sent about it they said they would never get them. We filled out paper with the movers for the report TWO times and they never got those reports either. I would never ever recommend this company.
Weight was lifted off my shoulders, soon as Guftavo and tyrease arrived got straight to work. Finished in a blink of an eye. I had 16 boxes, an 86”, entertainment center, king size bed with headboard, footboard and mattress with box spring. When guftavo and tyrease arrived I mentioned my concern about my TV and they gave me their word, my tv made it safely to it’s new home . As I mentioned to the drivers that my 86 inch TV has previously been broken and the liability insurance wasn’t enough to cover the money that was paid out of pocket for the TV, and I wasn’t able to retrieve those funds back due to liability insurance being $.60 a pound. When I say these guys were understandable and comforting to me, Blue whale will be the only moving company to ever move any furniture or anything in my house. Not to mention their prices are very very affordable.
Date of service Jan 21, 2020 by Juan and Dennis. Moved 3 large pieces of furniture about 3 hours.Had to borrow a tool to disassemble a bed from a neighbor who let them bring it with them to the destination, which they ended up not reassembling and taking the tool AND screws with them. They also ripped paint from the walls trying to move a desk in! When I brought this to Juans attention when he was already on the way back, he told me to contact Hunter, who never called me back. Then Dustin stepped in, saying he needed pictures of the screws to try and see what tool was needed to mail to me. Of course I didnt have the screws and that was the last I heard from him! Its been over two months now and I have t heard anything or received anything in the mail. The MOST frustrating thing. Theyre less expensive than other companies for a reason. Im out the tool, the screws an assembled bed, and money since they were supposed to reassemble the bed and didnt. Please dont use this company...theyll do an incomplete job and then ghost you.
I hired this company to pack my house into a truck. The two movers that came to move were very courteous and efficient, the packed the truck within the time that was scheduled. When we got to our destination (in another state), we discovered a few items which were broken or deeply scratched. We provided enough blankets to protect these items (not all of the blankets ended up being used) and yet there were items which were left unprotected and metal was rubbing on wood. This caused damage to our dining table/chairs and a bunk bed. The dining table had a leg snap off completely.I was happy that nothing else was destroyed, overall I would say it was a pretty good turnout compared to stories I have heard. What makes things worse though is I sent an email to them the very next day letting them know what was broken and asking how we can fix it, I never got a response, then when I received an email from the company asking if I would use them again I said no, the Vice President of the company sent me an email asking what I was not happy with. I responded and never heard back. It has been 6 weeks and still nothing.

They moved my mother and father to Austin in 1995 and they’ve moved my husband and I twice over the past two years. My experience with Blue Whale Moving was exceptional. The price was well within my budget and set by how much I had and not how long it took to transport everything. The movers were fast. They got me from a third story apartment to a two floor house in around three hours.
These are the movers to use!!! They actually came to my house and created an inventory list and quoted me based on that instead of hourly. They were fast, efficient, friendly, and took excellent care of my belongings. I can’t say enough good things about them. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone who will listen.
They were amazing, helpful, and patient! With how crazy our move was, the movers seriously made it so much less stressful! They loaded the truck and listened to us about where to put things, they even broke down furniture, and reassembled everything perfectly. 0 stars would be more appropriate. Blue Whale Moving Company (BWMC) was engaged to pack, move and store my daughters belongings from one residence to another. BWMC lost some of her things. A claim for the loss was filed and BWMC failed to respond for nearly 6 months. When BWMC finally responded, it shirked responsibility for the loss. Customer service is essentially non-existent. Avoid.
Great local business, staffed with conscientious movers that work as hard as anyone Ive ever seen. We had just moved to Cedar Creek from out-of-state with one POD and a very full 28 ft. semi-trailer. Blue Whale rose to the occasion with a short-notice (1-day) request to empty our 16 ft. POD. They had it emptied and put where we wanted in only 2 hours. A few days later they tackled the 28 ft. trailer. It was a beast and the guys did an amazing job! The office staff is likewise professional, courteous, and on top of things. There was a hiccup with timing the night of the main move, but management actively engaged and made things right. I have already recommended this company to one of my closest friends thats moving to the area and would recommend them to you as well.
Would give a 0 if there was a zero. Do not use this company. They damaged my 20 year old grandfather clock. Moving from Houston area to here. Have been with 3 people on claim. They can not keep their employees. Owner can not bother to call back. Co..has pics and letter to me showing they received claim info. Yet, damages were over 1300. Yet they wont even pay the company that has my grandfather clock. Since July 29th waiting to get fixed. Unacceptable. If not hear from owner. By Monday. I already know what to do about my claim with Attorney general. Who also,reccomend file claim with DMV. Consumers beware. Stay away from this company.
I have used Blue Whale moving four times. Theyre always courteous and professional. They show up on time and they amaze me at how much they can handle so quickly without ever breaking anything. As well, at the finish they help with placing items and putting things back together. What more could you ask for?
Two young men showed up to move my son across town. They were visibly hot and tired since this was their 3rd or 4th move of the day, but still smiling with great attitudes! I was impressed with the level of care they took with wrapping and taping items to prevent possible damage. These guys work hard and fast. I would give them 6 stars if that were an option! I was apprehensive about using a moving company, but can honestly HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one. Their boss even came and helped out. Super nice people! I am so grateful for all they did.

It is the second time we have hired this company for our moving needs, and we are completely satisfied with the care they used to bring our belongings into our new home.The pricing is competitive, service is excellent, and the guys moving your stuff know how to do it carefully.
How this company has such high reviews is beyond me. We paid a ton of money to have a professional moving company move us ten miles down the road. The crew was nice enough, but there wasnt a single thing they touched that wasnt nicked, scratched, dinged, or outright broken. We had a whole box full of broken china and mugs, most of our picture frames and large mirrors are dinged on the corners or scratched, there are nicks and scratches on our dining set and living room furniture, our walls at both houses were dented and marked up, and we keep finding more damaged belongings as we continue to unpack. I will never hire this company to move us again. Never.
Totally impressed with Blue Whale. Customer service so helpful. Every single person--packers and movers had awesome attitudes and worked hard!!! Just one negative and that was that some fragile boxes were left stacked under heavy things so not all fragile items made it. :( But otherwise, totally awesome service!
They were wonderful in moving my mother back from New Mexico. Due to some confusion on our end (that was my fault not theirs)they were unable to deliver some of her stuff to a storage unit. However they came back at a later date to finish at no charge. Great service!
Poor service. Rude and unprofessional movers that had an attitude with me the entire time, I should’ve canceled right then and there. The customer service dept sounds like a big scam of guys. Quoted me one price and tried to charge my MORE for the same amount of items I initially told them about. After I asked for a manager he decided to lower the price “this time”. Even though I’ve used them before and it’s always been that price for the same amount of items and same floor and size apt. Called hours later and asked to speak with a manager about the rudeness of the drivers and movers and they lied and said they would call me back. 4 months later and never a call back. I will never use this service again. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AT ALL. THERE ARE PLENTY BETTER ONES TO CHOOSE FROM IN THE AUSTIN AREA. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL MOVERS.

One of my buyers recently bought a home from a seller who used Blue Whale to move their furnishings out. In the process, the movers dinged a wall. The sellers representatives submitted a claim ... waited ... and now have been asked to submit another claim, while my buyer sits waiting for it to be fixed weeks after moving in. Needless to say, when I have a seller who needs a moving company, I wont be recommending Blue Whale.
First class all the way. Friendly and professional from the first phone call to the final handshake. Very flexible and able to adjust to all of my requests throughout the day, including multiple stops and changes as to which items were being moved. Would definitely recommend this company.
Quick and on time. Moved from a 3rd floor to a 3rd floor...no elevator. I noticed 3 items damaged that were not prior to the move 😢. They help place items where I wanted them and were patient. The price was the 💥.I would have given 5 stars but how you gonna damage my stuff and not say nothing....
I hired Blue Whale to pack and move me. I was given a quote that was not adhered to and was confusing.The packers packed my stuff so well that I cannot find my iPod touch (which the packers had in their hands the last time I saw it), and my bottle of prescription pain killers made it to the destination empty (with the child protective cap on tight).At move end, they charged me more than $100 over the quote, and I had to go through several people to get them to honor their guaranteed quote.Never again -
They were in and out before I knew it. They put everything exactly where we asked them to, and everything was in perfect shape when it got here. And the price was amazing. I was getting quotes of $500+ from everywhere else, and they came in at $400. I’ll absolutely use them again.
We had a few snags along the way...the truck was too small....the storage unit I rented was too small....yikes! In the end, Jimmy and Hunter showed up the next day to finish the job....said we are not leaving until everything is where you want it....they were tireless, pleasant and made a stressful situation so much easier. Nothing goes perfect through a move, its how you solve the problems along the way and for that, this company is five star!

Moved a one bedroom apartment from 78705 to 78704, only had to walk down one flight of stairs, a queen bed, and a chair were the biggest items, quoted me 2 hours, normal time it has taken movers I have had in the past, ended up taking 5 hours because these young kids didnt know what they were doing and jacked around the whole time, and wanted to charge me 600. Do Not Use

2021-08-25I would leave Blue Whale a 0 star review if possible. We used them when the father was running the show and had a wonderful experience. Now that his son has taken over I would not be surprised to see this company go under. What a disappointing excuse for a human being. Run in the opposite direction if you are considering Blue Whale. They moved us from TX to NC and caused so much damage and refuse to take responsibility. They will not replace your damaged items. They do not understand how to pack household items. They destroyed a seven thousand dollar Restoration Hardware leather sofa with packing tape. They tore my wedding dress apart. They do not have any sort of customer service or integrity. I am grateful to be in a position to replace my damaged belongings. I know other families do not have this luxury and may be looking at using Blue Whale as a locally owned family business. They may be thinking that their belongings are safe with Blue Whale. They do NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BELONGINGS. They should do the right thing by their customers and I am afraid their poor business skills influence their poor decisions. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

2022-06-23Blue Whale moved me & stored my belongings 19 years ago and they did a fine job! Decided I’d trust them again with my move/store this time around. They did a great job, took care and were wise in moving my stuff out. The owner came some weeks ago to look everything over and give me an estimate, very nice and easy to do business with. Got a call prior to the move to verify everything, again another nice professional. Nice hardworking guys on move day! I’d recommend!

2022-03-04Company was great. Got move scheduled on short notice, twice. Movers on both moves were very careful with my furniture. Brett and Osborne were especially careful and friendly. They stuck with their estimate, which was very fair. No increase once on the ground. Since it was by the hour, they also didn’t try to slow roll it, but hustled with care. I’d definitely use them again.

Would definitely recommend Bluewhale to anyone we know if they want to feel their possessions are well cared for by professionals when they move. 2022-07-12Blue Whale was professional and responsive at every step for our Austin to Ohio move. Hunter came out to do the estimate and immediately won the trust of my husband. Jose, Jacob, and Mari packed everything expertly, and with care and efficiency, on a Friday. Jose and Jacob drove to Ohio and all of our belongings were safely delivered and in our Ohio storage unit by Sunday 5 PM. Friendly, efficient, on time, and careful. We are very pleased with our experience with Blue Whale, and highly recommend their services.

2022-03-07I scheduled a move with this company in October of 2021 and these came and moved all my personal items from one house to another. There were several items which were damaged and damage to my property. I scheduled a claim with Ashton their claims specialist who was extremely unhelpful saying they are having trouble supporting any repairs due to a labor shortage. What is strange is that they can operate their business but not repair a broken monitor and damaged handrail. I had waited over 3 months for a resolution but these guys have been ghosting emails and calls. I eventually had to find my own contractor for the handrail repair to complete the work and ate the cost of my monitor. They eventually sent me a check after 4 months of me calling/emailing with no response. I called the company and said I was a reporter looking to address customer complaints and that’s when I got someone on the phone to help me.Based on reviews it seems this company used to be good but it seems there has been a change in leadership which is impacting their customer service.Would not use again as they do not take care of their customers
