Its a nice park, lots of shade, and a great view of Arlington lake.Boating is allowed, although swimming is not.Great park for get togethers, and for barbecue!Great fishing too...but the fish are smart and it takes a dedicated fisherman to outsmart the fish...are you up to the challenge? That park for all your recreation needs, and a childs play area, to bring your children for hours of fun and relaxation.Come join us get a spell, well leave a spot for you to park...and most people are real friendly...as long as you dont take their fish.
Very windy. Well kept, except for one thing. The lone restroom. The maintenance guy was cleaning the floor Womens restroom when I happened upon the scene. He offered I use the Mens. I went in to find the lone stall had no door, so I waited instead. Yes, the floor looked good, and there was a working sink with hand soap. So good on that. However, it was clear that the toilet paper had not been refilled. Of 2 stalls, the handicap stall also did not have a door anymore. It had toilet paper, duh! But the 1st stall had almost none out of a 2 industrial roll style holder. The main event of a room with a toilet is the toilet paper. Especially if its a Womens room. Come on!
Very nice clean park relaxing sound of the duck I like the fact it had bench and ♿ handicap parking everyone were respectful of each one space no violence no fighting no shooting not ghetto very up scale neighborhood family friendly I brought my own portable camping toilet with camping shower ⛺ just incase bathroom not open or wasnt clean due disability with breathing and others taking extra precautions of the covid this a great place lots of shade beautiful trees 🌳 it is time for the park to be treated for seasonal ants 🐜 which Im sure they will
Honestly it’s pretty dirty and the lake is dirty as well, but our pups don’t mind! Just wouldn’t recommend to eat the fish that come out of it or have people swim in it. It also floods but it’s really fun honestly because all the people who have trucks we sit in the water and just chill all day and fish or do whatever. Love this place!
I love this park, my first time there was today. The road was blocked off due to work being done in the parking lot, but you could still walk in. This park pretty big! It has a boat pad, plenty of benches, a playground, and a gazebo with plenty of seats for a birthday party. Ill definitely be coming back.
The homeowners nearby seem to watch me and my friend ( my friend is a 69 black man) the whole time we were there. It was a first date and they made us both feel very uncomfortable. They even had a man sit in a tow truck watching our every move. As soon as we started our cars and left, the tow truck left as well. I was shocked but at the same time I wasnt. We still have a long ways to go with equality in this world.
Its a great to bring a picnic, lay out a blanket and watch the water and ducks and other activities. We get ice cream at the Braums, down the street and drive here. My Mom loves this place too. We really missed it when the renovation was going on and NOBODY could get in. Now, its better. They created paths to drive around, when you enter and leave. Its safer to drive within the parking lot now. You can dock your boat or skidoos, but NO SWIMMING!! People ignore that sign. Its too dangerous with boats loading and unloading, and with the equipment hidden underwater from creating this lake and the heavy rain helped create the lake, a long time ago. It has childrens play equipment, and picnic tables, places to fish and to walk around the park (not exactly hiking). Thats it!
Absolutely love this place. It has a very huge lake and people can fish there. Its got shaded parking in some spots for those who to just hang out in the car or are disabled. People can fish. The folks out there are friendly and pretty much stay to themselves. The sunsets there are one of the most amazing Ive seen. There are a lot of people who come out just to see the sunset. You have a clear view of the sunset over the lake. Its got a boat ramp but you have to pay to play on the water but everything else in the park is free. Its not a place to spend the night or RV because they shut down around 10:00 p.m.
Beautiful park with water side walkway. However the walkway is very small. I wish it would be long enough. You can watch sunset there too. If you like fishing, you are welcome also. When I am writing this comments, construction works are on going. You have to park on street. But its free!!!
Currently under a massive construction overhaul but gorgeous veiw of Lake Arlington. Worth the walk through the construction zone to get to the park. Bathrooms are not currently open but its still worth the trip. This place is perfect for star gazing at night and watching sunsets. Good fishing spots and always a few ducks. Watch out for the squirrels though. They are not afraid of people and will come right up to you looking for food.
Nice big park with playground and boat ramp. There is plenty of parking and its a little off the main roads so theres no noise from traffic. A walking trail encompasses the park but you can also stroll right throughthe wooded area. Lots of picnic tables and a great view of the lake make this an idea spot to enjoy nice weather.
Bowman is a great park. It has a boat ramp, a pier for fishing, plenty of benches, a basketball hoop, a playground, and a pagoda for parties. Plenty of room for the little ones to run wild, and fairly wide open to help parents keep their eyes on them. Surprisingly clean restrooms as well. The city could do a better job at picking up trash at the waterfront. I understand thats not as easy as it sounds, because as soon as you pick up trash, the lake washes more up. Still though, some of the trash has been there awhile.Watch out for the squirrels. Theyre surprisingly brave, and very curious. They WILL steal food if you turn your back.
I had a great time. The lake is very peaceful, the area was nice and clean. They have places to barbecue. There are places to cast your line if you have fishing gear or ramps if you want to bring a boat. There was a nice paved trail around the place. It is a great spot to take the family any day of the week. I am sure I will enjoy going there many more times. If you are looking for a nice lake spot try this out.
VERY NICE PARK with plenty of places to fish, picnic, take the kids and have a relaxing afternoon out. This is one of the parks on Lake Arlington. Great place to take the kids and have a picnic lunch. On a bright and sunny day you can people watch as well. They have basketball courts too.... Hope to see you out there...
Quiet place to visit during the day. Good for walking dogs, kids playing in the playground, or just sitting and enjoying the view (which is what we did). There are plenty of benches and theres a track for those of you that feel like walking. Lots of ducks and plenty of parking!
The park is great for the kids with swings and jungle gym. You can feed the ducks and the squirrels will come right up an take food from you if you are still and patient. The lake is nice to look at and the walking path is really great. Lots to look at... Animals , people, water with boats and jet ski, paddle boats(boat dock), fishing (pier) Lots of shade and picnic benches. There is a Pavilion with grills that can be rented out for private parties. There is a boat ramp and decent public restrooms that they keep clean for the most part. Great place to hang out with the fam.
Fishing, boating, picnicing, wildlife watching, people watching , leisure strolling- whats not to like? Theres a large gazebo for group picnics, benches to sit on and enjoy the lake breezes, wide, cemented boat ramp, 2 piers, a playground. Something for everyone. And dont we all need a bathroom now and then? Come on... you know you do. And a B-ball court. Dont forget the B-ball court!
Quiet place with play area for children young and old basket ball goals are precariously placed in the parking lot where there is clearly marked parking spots but if its not a holiday I guess its okay. The lake is why I come to feed the ducks and just relax with the waves
I was disappointed with some of the visitors here. While I dont mind hearing people beat bop and listen to music, I just wish the profanity wasnt included. Tone down the language or at least have the decency to not do it as families (with young children) walk right in front of you.... Its called have some respect. And the parking lot lights were acting up too and it made it very difficult to see on the boat ramp.
I like the park because its there! More and more cities are requiring you to pay to get in, its nice that the city is providing this for the citizens. Nice family environment, fishing, boat ramp, basketball courts! Only thing that would make this better is that it was BIGGER!
Nice quiet park in the mornings. Pretty busy on the weekends. Has a large gazebo near the lake but its usually taken on the weekends. Has lots of places to fish, a nice long pier, a pretty decent boat ramp & dock. Lots of ducks, a large basketball court, a playground & bathrooms.
The place is fun. They have a full outdoor basketball court and two smaller basketball courts (from reclaimed basketball space) that are just big enough for small pickup games of 2-on-2. The trail around the park is probably 0.25 miles at the most. They also have a small playground for kids. Theres a dock so that folks can load/offload their boats from their trucks onto the lake as well. There is one spot by the lake thats full of litter btw. If youre into beach/lake cleanups, theres work for you there.
This is a city park with a picturesque waterfront situated alongside Lake Arlington. It has well maintained grounds, park benches, boat ramps, and ample parking spaces. It is in a seemingly middle to upper middle income residential area. Overall, this park is worth checking out.
When you go early enough in the day, take some nuts of any sort... The squirrels here come in groups to be fed. If you just sit still and wait for them they will come and take the nuts right from your fingers, its awesome... And they also claim its the best sunset found in Arlington... You be the judge. See ya soon...
This is a great part of Arlington lake that has everything you need from boat ramp to playground, great space for alone time or for crowds. Not sure about bank fishing, i always seem to get hung up on the underground fence around the bank, pulling up and fishin outta back of truck was convenient.
I love coming to this park, but I avoid it like the plague on the weekends. This place goes downhill from Friday night thru Sunday night. It attracts the worst of the worst.Drug deals, road rage people from Shorewood pulling in, etc. Ive had to call the cops a few times.During the week, its a completely different place.
A product of Arlingtons clear bias against public life. Basically inaccessible by foot if youre not a healthy person willing to traverse the areas almost non existent sidewalks to reach the park. Dont expect to be able to walk or bike around Lake Arlington since all the shoreline is basically private property. Theres literally more parking lot for trucks and boats than there is public park. Blech. At least there are some benches, gnarly public grills, and a dinky playground. Good views of the proverbial Bretts and Chads piloting noisy watercraft around this artificial body of water heavily polluted by PCBs.
Dont come this place if you dont wanna be attacked by The Fishermans dogs. I was really frightened. A female owner didnt care her dog running around and risking everyone. The worst thing was that she never cared how fear you felt as well. I really wanted to say a lot of bad words!!!!!!!!!!!

2022-04-10Great place. I usually go here to meditate and enjoy few moments with myself in peace. The park is nice, the lake is soothing. There are tables to have picnic with family as well as ramp to launch boats and jet skis. Alot of people usually come to take a walk or fish. One of the gems in Arlington.

2022-05-24This is a very nice park, and very well maintained. The mens bathroom was super clean had soap and sink with water to wash your hands, however there were no drying towels or electric hand blow dryers. In my opinion, this park has the best boat launch ramp that Ive used within a 50 mile radius, or so.Because it was my first time visiting this park / lake and Im not very familiar with it, I did not like how quick the depth of the lake could go from 15 ft to 6 ft...and sometimes 2ft, at any given place on the lake.To me, that was pretty scary. So if you dont know this lake, take your time moving across the lake to prevent getting stuck in the mud.

2022-04-21I love this place, it is excellent for fishing, there is carp, catfish, crappie, havent seen any bass or blue Gil but good luck to anyone trying out there, I just wish they didnt have the wire around the non dock area so you wouldnt get stuck while fishing

2021-04-20Very beautiful park on the lake. Plenty of walking, fishing, and play time for the kids. Under construction to expand the parking and the road but still a great park.
