Budget Car Rental in other cities:
Well let’s start off with the two hour and 15 minute wait to process a purchase that I reserved 4 weeks before arrival. I wouldn’t even give this a one star experience lol Then we’ll add to that the ridiculous charge for the vehicle. Their systems were down. They offered me no compensation for the extremely long wait! And when I got home I have been charged three times for the three day rental! Three times! Where I then spent all day calling my credit card entities and trying to locate a phone number to reach Budget customer service…. We’re talking thousands of dollars people! And they offer me $50 discount for all of the inconvenience. Worst experience I’ve ever had😡
Very busy location, but service was good! Cars are just average, nothing spectacular during my experience with them as far as upgrades. They will try to upgrade you but personally for me it is not worth it as all there vehicles re pretty much in the same condition. Other than the vehicle selections, I would recommend this location . There is usually a line but this is not avoidable to rent a car in this area
Car pickup was smooth, was provided upgrade due to limited car inventory. Car was clean and in good condition. Drop off was very fast as I was told it automatically checked our car in upon driving through return gate. However, I was incorrectly charged for gas after having filled up tank less than 2 miles from airport. Now I have to call customer service to have the charge removed. VERY inconvenient!
Beware of hidden charges. Anything done roadside is at your cost. I had a dead battery and could have gotten a jump on my AAA and incurred no fee, or a neighbor could have jumped the car for free. BUDGET has billed me $112.00!Never again. I was late for my business meeting , still dont know if i got the contract.Since when is it the customers responsibility to maintain your fleet of cars? 2019 it was a blowout with no tool to unlock wheel, to put the spare on, BUDGET charged me $498.00 for tow, new tire, changing cars. This was within 12 hours of picking up the rental and sitting on 75 in Kaufman, TX for 4 hours.Charlotte
I reserved a Kia because that’s what fit within my budget. It was quoted at $201 before I showed up to the airport. When I arrived, the guy at the counter tried to upsell me on a Dodge Charger because it was only “$25 more per day”. His words. In my mind, $25 more per day would be a total of $50 which would come out to be $251.When I swiped my card, he didn’t even tell me what the total would be. I got my receipt and it was $387 total. That’s almost twice as much as I originally was going to pay. If I would have known that, I wouldn’t have done that. Be sure that your employees are transparent before taking peoples money because that is unacceptable when it comes to integrity. Not only that, when I checked my account, an extra $200 was taken out. The car ended up costing a total of $587 when the dude at the counter said it would be $250. Never again will I work with this company. This is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced when it comes to peoples integrity. Also, I asked somebody about it and she said I should get refunded the extra $200 when I return the car. I returned it and there was no refund. I will never work with this company again. Who would spend almost $600 on a car for 2 days without being scammed?
Nice staff but this location runs your credit and wants a $250 security deposit in order for you to use your debit card. Wouldnt even accept my Navy Federal Credit Union card. Seems like they do everything not to rent you the car all while being nice. Go to a different location other than the airport or have an inquiry on your credit from a rental car agency. And to add insult to injury, they charged the same card they refused to take 50 bucks for a non cancelation fee.
Love field budget is terrible if only for the 1hr 45 min wait in the hot sun outside the building as the overworked/understaffed (2 of 7 windows at any one time) employees got through the throng. Kudos to them for maintaining professionalism and composure working with the hot sweaty irate people in line with me. When assigned a car I got to it just to see it being driven off by people who were ahead of me in line who had been assigned the same car. Back to the counter and another 15 min getting a new car assigned. The car itself was clean and well prepped. The only reason for the 1 star is because of the wait, lack of efficiency and information to the people in line.
I appreciate the ease of renting vehicles on the website and Budgets prices and discounts. I did not have a good experience with the customer service agent when I picked up my vehicle at Love Field. I was spoken to in a condescending manner and was frankly offended by the agents tone and attitude.
Smaller car than advertised and reserved. Sent to lot to look for a Mazda when in fact our midsized car was a Toyota Corolla. Stuck in snow and ice storm. No service back to hotel if we turned in car. Wanted $200 (more than the first 2 days had cost) extra for car until next morning when and if airport opened. Our flight was canceled until 4:35 the next day. Told us we would have to return it and sit at airport or pay even more even though entire airport is closed and no one needed a car.
The single star was earned by the shuttle drivers who were very sweet and helpful.I reserved and paid for a full size car. I was given a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, which is a small SUV. I think that means I was ripped off.The guy at the desk was irritated that I even asked about a full size and rudely offered me any of the other Mitsubishi Outlander Sports they had on their lot. I rated my experience on their customer survey and a few days later received an email from their Central Region rep. basically saying. Better luck next time. Maybe try again. The car had almost 70k miles and a beeping warning light due to low washer fluid.Just spend the extra money and use Avis or Enterprise.
Budget rental cars have charged me fuel charges several times whereas I had brought the car back with full fuel. They run a SCAM by NOT giving you paper receipt when you return your car and tell you that they will send you receipt in the mail and then they charge customers with $ 18-25 fuel fees and if you dont pay attention, they scam customers. Imagine the hundreds of customers getting charged like that and Budget pocketing millions of revenue that is undue. I reported this back in Oct 2021 (ref Budget Case: 42285370 ) and nothing was done. I was given a voucher but then it happened again and again. So now when I return a car, I ask them for a physical receipt or I wont leave and they get mad and give me receipt with an attitude. On May 13 2022, I brought a car back after renting it for a whole week and they did that again to me. This time it was in Dallas TX and at this small rental place, the car I returned was a few meters from the counter and he knew gas was full and could see the agent receiving the car from me, in a range of few meters, yet he charged me extra for fuel and when I checked the receipt, I brought it to his attention and he fixed it, making it look like an honest mistake. They do this to hundreds of thousands of customers and scam people out of money. Since I reported several times and Budget not fixing this issue, I dont believe anymore that its employee fraud, Its the Budget rental car company scam.
Staff was professional and considerate. Car was not comparable to class of vehicle rented, and the associate apologized because he knew the online rental was misleading, and stated they had many complaints about it and were trying to get corporate to change the description/photo. The car I received was dirty. I could barely see out of the windows. Chips and trash in the 3rd row of seats. Will not rent from budget ever again.
Be careful of additional charges that get added on. If you unexpectedly are picking up the car a few hours earlier than expected, YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR IT. The car was there waiting for me to be picked up, they told me it was in a certain spot, and sent me on my way, I was CHARGED FOR MY 3 HOURS... I dont rent cars often, so I didnt know this was something to know.
Car had terrible odor and windshield and side mirrors were so filthy and splotched you could not see out of side mirrors. Also be aware that if you check out directly from their site instead of Expedia or secondary you will be charged an extra $50-60 dollars for additional taxes etc. that does not show up until checkout (all other sites show total cost) and if you try to cancel after you see that you will also be charged an additional $50.00
Car was not ready on arrival. Waited an additional ten minutes for another vehicle. Car was not thoroughly inspected ( key fob had low battery). Customer rep needed supervision throughout the process because he seemed new to the job. Terms and cost of rental were not thoroughly broken down. The staff was friendly, but they were in a rush because it closing time.
Rental was set up as kia soul. 1030a Friday to 1030p Sunday.I returned EARLY at 730 and was charged over 100 dollars late fee. There was no kia soul. They have me a dirty, stains seated toyota corolla, no window tint that smelled like smoke. According to them there was nothing else available, how can that be when i reserved a specific unit? Even if they didnt have a soul, at least get me a clean unit.. i am very upset at the company as i travel A LOT and have never had these types of issues before from anyone. Not even enterprise and theyre awful. At least they have clean cars and dont overcharge.
First time car renter at age 25. They scared me into taking the additional “optional” coverage by saying I would be directly responsible for the cost of the car if I got into an accident (found out later not true as I have my own auto insurance). So a $166 rental turned into over $400. Very disingenuous and feel taken advantage of. Betting they get commission on the sales of “optional coverages”.
We rented a jeep wrangler for a road trip. The car had white paint around the tires and on the plastic it looked like house paint splattered. The top of the jeep had some fist size damage and the front had damage as well the bumper was damaged it had marked xs on the front like the insurance adjuster looked at the damage but they didnt get it repaired. The inside didnt look really clean. The worse part was that the spare tire was not inflated and when we went to the gas station to try putting air in the tire I could hear the air coming out of a big hole the tire had. Thankfully we didnt get a flat tire and we returned the vehicle after a week.
When I arrived the Customer service rep was short and unfriendly. She asked that I pay a $200 credit card deposit which is something Budget rental has never asked me to do on any of my previous rentals. She up sold me on everything but the kitchen sink and did so in a VERY unfriendly way, I was insulted. Until that day Budget has been my favorite rental company. The car she offered me was extremely dirty and when I hunted down a lot representative to ask that the car be cleaned he told me to do drive it through the Budget on lot car wash. Upset I told him that I would do no such thing, especially considering Id but put down $700 on an Very small car on Christmas eve. He drove the car through the on lot car wash which only rinsed off the top dirt leaving it still Very dirty when it dried. At this point Id had enough of this and simply wanted out of the hell that I was in. The Lady doing the final check out (gate lift) was nice and friendly but I was still out done. I fly into Dallas 3-4 times a year and rent cars 6-10 times a year, and I will NEVER rent from Budget, Love Field again. I will pay the extra money to fly into DFW to simply avoid that Budget. I pray my next experience at DFW will be as Id come to encounter at other locations. I suggest a company Secret shopper go through that airport on a Saturday and check out this crew.
RENT ELSEWHERE INSTEAD OF BUDGETBudget High price, low delivery, missed this one and so should you.Rented in advance but Budget did not have my rental set up as a FastBreak even though I am a member. My rental was RENTED TO 2 of us at the same time so we had to go back inside to get it straightened out.The vehicle had not been cleaned out and had a worn and torn floor mat on drivers side.I was CHARGED $63 extra dollars for a full day rental because I returned the vehicle 30 minutes later than my expected return time. With what they already charge this is rediculous.
The front desk agent told me that I could return the car two hours before my flight since the website wouldnt allow me to change the time. I returned the car five hours before my flight. The call center rep told me that I was charged a full extra day and I was completely unaware of this. When I explained the situation to him I was told that he probably just forgot. When given the number to call the Dallas LoveField location specifically, I was placed on hold for well over 30 minutes. Employees would pick up the phone, not say anything then place me back on hold. After 40 minutes, my call was dropped. I was hussled and given misleading information by the front desk staff and now I am out hundreds of dollars and no one will help me. This is completely unacceptable and unfair. Your employees forgetfulness is now my problem and no one will help me. Ive been trying to get this fixed for two days.
We rented a car from Houston to Dallas and was dropping it off at this location. The women said we needed to go up to the desk as we hadn’t paid (which we had). When we got to the desk the guy serving us was so rude l, we said hello and he didn’t even say hello before saying “no I only need to speak to 1 of you the other can go away” in such a rude tone. He could have politely said “sorry I can only speak to one person” which would have been fine. This guy was arrogant and his tone was disgusting sort your customer service out. I get you speak to people day in day out but we were perfectly polite to you.
This is purely based on the polices of budget all people I interacted with were nice and friendly. That being said I had to change my rental agreement by on hour due to a job running long and was charged for a full day, so I asked to speak with a supervisor and they informed me that was there police and if I changed it even 30mins it would still be a full day charge and that there was nothing they could do, but to try customer service, so I did customer service said that I cannot file a complaint till the account is closed.... so they make you pay before you can even attempt to get it resolved. If you have a company or work for one that travels a lot beware if your job runs long or in a populated area you may have the same problem.
Took about an hour& a half! to get rental. Prepaid w Fast break/rez, it didnt matter! All lumped in 1 long line. Hot day to stand in line for an hour in the sun! Very very disappointed. No acknowledgment from counter personnel re the time spent or no line for prepaid fastbreak, no sorry about the long line, enjoy your rental, have a great day, thanks for bearing with us, Just a... Thanks... also disappointing...Then the return. I drove into lot a couple HOURS before rental was due back. Lot porter asked how everything was, I said Oh I forgot to put gas in! Can I please go do that real quick? Lot attendant says I might not be able to leave, to check w Exit Lady and Exit Lady can help me to get gas...Exit Lady says cars already checked in, you cant leave. I tell her its still paid for another couple hours she says it doesnt matter. (Shes not rude but doesnt seem empathetic. ) She says check with lot attendants that they can help me with the gas. I say okay...Lot attendants say theres no one in gas station area & to go to office/ rental area & that the people there will (not might, will) be able to help me with the gas since i WANT to add gas and since I actually have time left...Nightmare...At office rental, lady behind counter said she couldnt help me at all w the gas. So Im paying twice as much for Budget to refill it when Im the one that wanted to buy it but wasnt allowed!!Shame on you, Budget! For advertising Fastrez and not honoring it. For not planning for Memorial Day weekend business. For not allowing me to go fill up a block away when I still had time left on my rental! And the topper, the lady at counter! There was no Im really sorry but I cant help you with the gas situation. No Im really sorry. No Im sorry I cant help you out wish I could. Only I cant help you w that.Im upset and Enterprise & Hertz offer better customer experience than Budger!P.S. didnt get car level I paid for!
If you have the option of using another rental service DO IT! Budget/Avis by the Dallas Love field airport is the absolute worst entirely due to the staff. All of them at the front desk and the rental return that worked on March 12, 2022. They overcharged my card and when I brought the issue to them they all gave me an attitude like it was my fault. When I asked the lady a question in regard to my receipt at the preferred member/ car return her and 2 other men were just laughing and being unproductive about my concern. I have used Budget/Avis often but I will no longer be using them moving forward. To the staff-you all really showed how miserable and unhappy you are in your lives. If you all hate your job so much find a new one it’s that simple!
Staff was friendly, but its weird that the shuttle didnt drop anyone off at the Preferred board, or that the board is across the parking lot from the staffed rental counter.So... If you have an Avis Preferred account (Avis and Budget are at the same counter, shuttle, etc) then you need to walk across the parking lot to see if your name is on the board and to go to your car. If you dont notice that, you wait in line.
Budget rental car took $450 out of my account 2 months after I purchased a rental car. May 18th they took money out of my account for a car I rented March 26th through March 27th. When I called them they had no reason why they charged my account nor did they have my email address. BEWARE OF AIRPORT RENTAL CARS, THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN Puerto Rico with Dollar. I notified my bank Navy Federal and they will issue a refund. They used my banking information months later to go into my savings and withdraw 450 dollars, when they felt like it. Budget refused to tell me why they charged me asked me for my email address. I asked why are you just sending me an email when you took my money. They refused to tell me anything and I received no email at all. Later I found out they did the same thing to my other comedian friend in the very same place. Beware of the Budget rental at Live Field in Dallas months later they will go into your account because you are not from there. They target people out of town. I never received my deposit and they went into my account stealing 450 dollars.
Friday May 27, 2022 Arrived at 8:50am now 9:19 and just got in the building due to waiting. No shade for customers outside. 2 cashiers till now a 3 rd has started. Holiday weekend and there must be 20 people behind me. Unbelievable Budget/Avis. You are part of the problem with health issues. This will be my last rental with your company.
The staff is friendly, however the car we received was not cleaned on the inside, it smelled like cigarette smoke the whole 4 days we had it, there was splattered pop all over the inside door panel and on the overhead map lights and the carpet had a hole rubbed thru it on the floor board. I will not rent from Budget again !
I had a fantastic rental experience here last month. No issues at all. This last rental experience was very bad. They gave me a car that had been in a wreck and not repaired properly. Air was leaking through the window as I drove. It was also missing the car jack. I returned it on 3/22 with a full tank of gas. Good thing I took a picture of the console with a time/date stamp. They did not check it in properly and they are charging me for a late return and a gas surcharge. They had a crazy long line when I returned it. They didnt check it in until 3/24! When trying to get a hold of someone to rectify, I can not reach anyone. Be cautious and get a printed receipt upon return! Still dealing with this in June!
We were promptly picked up, promptly checked in to our dirty, damaged rental. It worked for the days we had it.They tried to blame us for the damaged car that they gave us. Fortunately, we took pictures of the car when we picked it up. It took 3 months to get them off our back and our money returned.Take pictures people!
Wonderful customer service and workers friendly and helpful. Also, the price was right; however, I would have scored higher if I had a better experience. The vehicle rented was very dirty on the inside...the inside roof back area very dirty....area appeared to have blood stains. No spare tire inside of vehicle. Rear light slightly busted. I have over 20 years of renting with Budget and this is the first time I got an unacceptable vehicle. Hope my next experience is better. Overall Budget is a good place to rent a vehicle from.
First my flight was delayed and I called multiple times and was assured that the airport Budget office would remain open, and they had my flight information, and could see that I had a reservation and would wait. They did not, and there were numerous people (not just us) stranded in the airport as a result of this. The next morning (after sleeping in the terminal), the car I got had a major vibration on the left side making it undriveable over 60MPH, and the next morning it had a flat on the right side. I called roadside assistance 2 dozen times and was told to change the tire myself and drive the car 2 hours back to the airport for an exchange. I was billed $26 for not refilling the fuel on this exchange.Ive had to exchange a rent car before from Enterprise and they handled it perfectly, they had someone drive the new car to me.Budget handled several issues poorly and ruined my vacation........dont let this happen to you.
Dont waste your time. I am not one to write reviews but I felt this was necessary. I have been charged MULTIPLE times for a damaged windshield when the vehicle was damaged before pick up. I have had to cancel my credit card because of it as the charges continued almost 3 months after. My suggestion is that you dont use this location OR just document as much as you can. Keep any records they provide because they will continue to try to charge you after the end of the lease agreement. We also waited over an hour and a half for the vehicle to be ready when the location was empty AND the staff was very disorganized.
LOVE FIELD-Budget Location-the SUV I rented from them seemed fine but when I drove it off the lot on my way to work the tire pressure thing went off. They gave me an SUV with 20 psi when it should have been around 44 psi. We aired up the tire thinking itd be a slow leak and should be fine to get us where we are going but the tire pressure started dropping fast. My brother had to repair the tire himself around 12 AM since we were on our way out of town. At the end of the trip last 6 hours drive back the check engine light came on. At this time I was just hoping the SUV would just get us all the way home.
Nice people but using a system from 1985 including computer paper with the holes on the side. No joke. Late flight into luv landed ant 11:45pm. After paying a taxi to take us to shuttle because line was too long and only have 1 shuttle bus, we were dropped at wrong rental counter and walked 20 min only to find a line of 60 people outside in the cold. We waited for over 2 hours to get our car and finally got to bed at 3am. Horrible antiquated system that needs to be changed. Felt sorry for the people working though. They were nice and this is a total nightmare otherwise.
We arrived at 11pm, one hour before closing, and wasted 20 minutes waiting on the shuttle we later saw parked outside the office. I tried calling to confirm if a shuttle was coming and only got into an endless loop of recorded option button pushing (I tried getting a manager and was routed to lost and found) never did speak to an actual person. After standing in line for another 15 minutes, an Avis/Budget bus pulled up packed with people! We only got to the office because the Hertz shuttle driver did us a solid and let us hitch a ride since theyre next door. When we got to the office, there was a huge line out the door with only two people processing rentals. Terrible Terrible. This budget adventure earned Hertz new business next time.
As a Fastbreak member, I should have been able to check in at the airport Kiosk. There were 2 people ahead of me, when the Budget employee announced everyone must get on the shuttle and go to the car rental area to check in. I truly believe she was too lazy to accomodate more clients. The shuttle waiting area did not have an organized line, forcing people to push to get on the next shuttle. I had to wait for 2 more shuttles in order to get on with my grandchildren. When I finally arrived at the car rental area, there were 30 people ahead of me. The whole process took over 1 1/2 hours. Where I should have been the 3rd person in line, I ended up 31st due to this terrible setup.
The car itself ( make & model) was fine. But, the inside was not clean and I had to remove long strands of hair off the seat before I could get in a d sit down. The outside of the car was filthy. I thought it would have at least had been washed or vacuumed inside and wiped down. But nope. There was no sign or smell of clean it sanitizing anywhere. They move the cars in and out as QUICKLY as possible. Its all about the 💰.
Reserved ahead of time for a deal for $177. I’ve never used Budget before. When arrived, someone else was in the car the guy at the desk gave us. They had booked it twice. Went inside to the desk again, said there was only one car left but it was not the compact. Friend asked if they could do it complimentary since someone was in the car when we got there we reserved. They said yes. It was charged extra from the deposit anyways so we had a $300 rental in the end anyways. We only drove it twice, and the backseat seatbelts would randomly star beeping like someone needed buckled who wasn’t there. It then took a half hour to drop the car off because computers were down. This is why I only use enterprise.
Chester helped us get our rental even after our flight was delayed 3 hours. Chester was patient and explained what was available and additional services about which we asked , even though it was late. The car was spotless and was easy to drive. All the staff were courteous and fast. The return was smooth, fast and welcoming. the Shuttle arrived in minutes.
Friendly staff at Dallas Love Field airport. We required a mid size SUV for our family of 5, got a van. Though we had insurance through AAA, we were asked to take another insurance with better coverage. My daughter 24 years has been driving in California but Budget required her to be 25 years as additional driver. The process took around 10 minutes but can be shorter if not selling other related products. The shuttle service from airport to car rental facility was great. At the facility we had to find our car, the shuttle driver was very helpful. Othe families too were looking for their cars.. There should be an executive at pickup facility to hand over the car to customer. Was a wonderful experience.
Omg! Waste of time after speaking with an representative telling them I stay in Dallas I’m using an Debit card is that okay the representative stated Yes! I Lyft there just so the front desk rep say oh no only major credit cards for people who live in Dallas 😡 now I’m having to Lyft back home Smdh
Did the pre check in so I was all set to go. Car stunk like smoke, was dirty, and damages. The cupholder still had dark water or something in then it took like another 30 min to get it swapped worst service ever just a bunch of drones doing the absolute minimum they could humanly muster
When I arrived to pickup my rental car there were only two people working. I was there for 30 minutes and the line wrapped all the way outside!A third person finally decided to join the other two men, and she was the rudest woman. I was giving her my information, and she decided to pester me about not wearing a mask. She asked if I wanted one and I said “no.” I am fully vaccinated, and choose to not wear a mask. She began telling me that it’s the policy of companies to refuse service to customers for not wearing a mask. There were no signs posted at the Budget/Avis requiring you to wear a mask. I told her that half of the people inside were not wearing a mask. She was literally behind a counter and behind plexiglass. She seemed pretty safe to me. My germs weren’t going to spread all over her.Their main concern should’ve been hiring more people, and not bothering people who aren’t wearing a mask! After she was done giving me a hard time, she said “we don’t have any cars available.”I made a reservation weeks before and couldn’t understand why a car wasn’t available. She finally decided to say “oh, well we have a truck.” I told her a truck was fine. She finished my paperwork and I went outside to get my rental. When I got to the car there were no keys.I went back inside, angry at this point, and asked another person to help me.The gentleman was kind and said the system came up as that car not having a key.The lady that helped me is working through the same system, and I’m sure she saw that car had no key. After waiting for a whole hour I finally was able to drive off with a truck that was not part of my reservation. I reserved a COMPACT CAR, not a truck.I chose to use Budget, because in the past I had a great experience. However, I will no longer be using Budget. I would rather pay a few extra bucks somewhere else and be treated with some respect.
1st car smelled like cigarettes smoke... They gave me a downgrade same car but not as much bells and whistles... They had the same car on the lot but wont give me that one... And when I got the car it was dark next morning car was dirty inside and out... Customer service sucks and kinda rude... I will not be using them again.
I reserved the car from Budget for my husband while he was in Dallas. When he got there to pick up the car, he gave them his card and told them to pay for the car on his credit card. I liked at my bank account and found out that I had been charged $696.00 and also another charge for $1.00. I called Budget and talked to Manny and he told me that nothing could be done about it until it was posted to my bank account. Then today I check my account after the rental car was returned by my husband and now I have another charge on my debit card for $496.00. I allocated that money in my debit bank account for bills and now I cant pay them because I have three charges from Budget on my card that should be on my husbands credit card. I have already spoken with my bank and will be submitting a claim to dispute these charges. Nothing should have ever been charged to my debit card especially when Im not even in Dallas renting the car. I just reserved it for him and then he was putting it on his credit card. I will never rent from Budget again after this experience and we travel a lot for our girls softball tournaments. Now I have to wait to see what gets declined on my bank account because I wasnt anticipating three charges totaling over $1,000.00. Thank you to Budget!
Still trying to get my deposit back. Its been a week. Was severely over charged and still cant talk to a actual person. Update. March 9. Received a email and they told me they couldnt help me, because they never sent a receipt. It was my job to keep up with something I never even received.
I rented a vehicle through tickets at work, budget/avis had the best rate... however when I got to the airport, my flight landed at 10pm. There was a long line and only 1 person working. Alot of the customers in there were not happy, as the company didnt have the vehicles people had a reservation for. I had a reservation for a Toyota Forerunner or similar... again, did not have what I wanted. When i asked about the Brand new ford expedition sitting out front, he told me that it was available but i would have to pay extra for it. This blew my mind, not only did I already spend $600 on the rental but I had to pay another $120+ to rent this larger vehicle and pay $13/day extra for my dad to be a driver as well. The gentleman waiting on us was very nice, however I have never had to deal with this before. The guy said they rent more vehicles than they have?? This makes no sense. I will never be renting from them again. I was given the managers email and never heard back. HORRIBLE management.
The cost was unreasonable. The car was dirty, dinged up and not what I reserved. Upon check in I was charged an $11.99 fuel service. This was just after I filled the car up with gas before turning it in. There is no way to dispute the difference in fuel levels. I believe this is a scan on the renter to capture additional revenue. The Fastbreak booth was closed at pick up forcing me to stand in a long line to pick up the car. The rental person was unfriendly. The check in person was outstanding.
Although everything went well with my own rental, I was astonished and disappointed with how the previous customer in front of me was being treated at the Dallas-Love Field facility. The young individual was -far from politely- informed that he couldnt rent a car with a debit card at an airport location with a one-way ticket. Although this information makes total sense and is truthfully provided in footprint(s), this poor young man was just finding about it the hardest way without further explanation and without any sense of professionalism. You can not rent here due to__, you have to go somewhere else, NEXT in line. No apologies, no guidance, no direction. It was heartbreaking witnessing how lost, nervous, and confused he was rapidly got at that exact moment, since it appeared someone else has made the reservation for him. This kind of news have better ways to be informed, explained, and passed along; looking for him outside the rental office, some good Samaritan (not an employee, but a different customer) was already explaining to him what to do, how, and where to go. That is all he needed, and he was very appreciated and it slightly better spirits. The vehicle was dirty, but in good condition. The staff at the Dallas-FW airport offered a way better customer experience during the 10 minute dropping-off process.
Beware of the $250 deposit on top of your full rental amount. A weekend rental was 236.00 plus another $250.00. That must be on your credit card. Almost $500 charged on my card for 2 day rental. I didnt see any indication before showing up to the office. Im a Perferred Avis member who would simply pay online and look at the board, find car and go. Why not put that information on the confirmation?
I drove down the road and I noticed my gas tank was half filled. The cars are supposed to filled up and ready to go. I had to go back and get it filled. I also felt like offering a van for 8 people to a single person is not something the rental place should have done. I feel like a smaller vehicle could have been found. Instead I had to upgrade and spend more money.
I won’t be back. First thing is they have construction going and have the front gate locked where you can’t get in. It took us 15 mins trying to figure out a way to get in. Tried calling and the number doesn’t go to that location and person I spoke with had no clue on how to help me get in. Second after waiting in line for a while since they only had 2 people working, I get my rental for it to have the strongest odor of cigarettes that I’ve ever smelled in my life. So strong it made my head hurt and stomach nauseous. I have 3 young children and I’m not comfortable with them riding in this car breathing so this odor. I called again to talk to someone about this. Was told I needed to be transferred to the right department. I got transferred to another automated system with options that didn’t help me, no options to speak with another representative. So I get online to make my complaint/help since I can’t get any help over the phone. It has now been almost 24 hours with no response. I’m very unhappy with this location and lack of assistance with this issue. I will not be back. I’d suggest finding a different company.
They didnt have my car and tried to upgrade me to a pickup truck for free. A pickup truck is not an upgrade to me although it is to the company. They magically pulled the type of car I wanted out of thin air which told me it was not cleaned or sanitized before giving it to me. It has been in a crash from the bumper jutting out the front. Customer service was good but they can better with car situations.
My rental car was not cleaned well and it looked like someone had drove the car before I picked it up...engine running and windows down. Tried to find attendant but no one around. At the exit, staff member was not sure why it was running. I was 40 minutes overdue for the car to be returned. I understand there is an hourly charge but all other fees were charged for a full extra day ...which I was not made aware. I feel I was overcharged 30.00
This is my second poor experience with this facility at Love Field. The first time I rented here, they gave me a dirty vehicle with mud inside the back and the previous customers trash had not been cleaned out. This time, they gave me a vehicle with a tire leak. I drove off the lot and the tire pressure gauge immediately came on. I pulled over and discovered that the valve cover was missing on the leaking tire. I was on the way to a business meeting, but I called them immediately to address the issue. After explaining the issue, they asked if I could change the tire in my business attire before my meeting. I did not have the time to do this, nor should I have had to do this due to their negligence. They apologized and told me that they would address it. They did so, but then charged me $220 to fix their mistake. I have tried to address this with their customer service team during business hours, but I was put on hold for 10 minutes before finally being told that there was no one available to help me. I would highly recommend steering clear of this company.
I rented online and chose the mystery car for the cheapest rate of $75.00 for 24 hours. When I got to the location at DAL airport they offered me a 12 seater VAN. This is a commercial vehicle. They said that was their special of the day. The offer was a mystery car. I had to pay extra to upgrade to a car. Sounds like a bait and switch tactic. BAD BUSINESS. Then when I got the car it was not the car they assigned me a white corolla, but a white camry and the same color. I didnt notice it until I got to the hotel and looked at the receipt I was given to put in the glove box. So I called budget 1-800 number to inform them. Spent an hour and half on the phone explaining as the location I purchased from didnt answer the phone but forwarded their calls to the 1-800 number only. It was documented. The tire had a slow leak at pick up and was at 12 lbs of air pressure when given to me. I noticed it while trying to drive on the highway leaving the airport pulling to the right as it was the front passenger tire. NO SAFETY CHECK PRIOR TO PICK UP. BAD BUSINESS. I had to pull over and put air in the tire could not return the car because of my business appts in town and continued to keep filling up the tire for the rest of the day in order to continue on and get the car back to them the next morning when I was flying back out. It was ridculous to refill the tire 4 times in 20 hours. Then when I returned the car because it was not the car assigned to me I had to go inside and they had to find out what happened to the car orginally assigned to me which I was responsible for and delete it out of the system and reassigned the car they had given to me. I was their 30 minutes, had to take a shutlle to the airport and missed my flight. BAD BUSINESS. I will never use budget again.
This occurred at the Dallas Love Field location. Although my car was ready, it was dirty, dented, and the lowest base model with essentially ZERO options. I paid almost $300 and actually had ordered a full-size car, but received a Mitsubishi Outlander (intermediate SUV). It had almost 40,000 miles on it, dirty inside and out (like it did not appear to have been washed or cleaned from the prior renter), and again, had no conveniences that pretty much any other rental I have had at other agencies have had and was bare bones. I literally would have guessed the vehicle was from the 1980s. It is very disappointing because with other agencies, you can choose your vehicle. We had had a horrible day of flights and it was almost midnight, so I had no desire to go back to the office to ask for a different vehicle after standing in yet another line. The following day, I called a local off-airport Budget location and was routed to the national center where the customer service rep told me I could go to any local office and get a swap. I did this, driving out of my way several miles only to be told by the rep at the local office that they do not keep inventory there and I would have to drive back to the airport (45 min each way) to get a different car. He said the national center always tells people to go to local office. So I was basically stuck as I had too much business to take care of on my trip to waste another 2+ hours getting it swapped out. It is just unfortunate because you always wonder who gets the nice cars because it is never me. This happened to me on a trip to Sea-Tac airport and I vowed never again to rent with Budget but I gave you guys one more try and sure enough I got the short end of the stick again. This WILL be the last time. The only redeeming factor was that the staff members were pleasant.
Almost ruined my trip. But first as soon as I got off the plane I headed to the line, when i arrived the line was 64 groups long 2-3 per group most people were alone. We all immediately noticed only budget had a redicoulous size line. Hertz, Avis, Enterprise and all the rest had no lines !!!! We all immediately noticed something wrong here...after waiting 1.5 hrs for a car rental!!!! They said : ohhh YOU made a mistake and Im at the wrong airport theres a convenient shuttle for $80 !!!!!!! Dollars thatll take you there. I went outside and got a taxi for 30. This was a obvious manipulation by according to those standing in line that Costco, Priceline, and similar travel sites had orchestrated and almost ruined my short trip. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Very scary because I have never been here and my budget was tight. Worst: they tried to blame me. Is that what I deserve for trying to save money?
HORRIBLE customer service. They do not give care about there customers at all ! Staff is rude , impatient, and disrespectful. I had such a bad experience with them to the point that I don’t think I’ll ever fly into Love Field again. I was overcharged, the wrong reservation was used, the headlights on the car didn’t even work (this I noticed half way up the road 1/2 way through my 2 hour drive. I ABSOLUTELY hate budget. No wonder why they were the only ones with cars available. I’ll definitely be faithful to Alamo and Enterprise moving forward. ATLEAST they value their customers.
The WORST experience of my life! I was humiliated in front of a room of 30 people. Beware of the $250 deposit they dont tell you about until you get there. They told me that the entire week ($500+) and the $250 deposit had to be at the same time on the same card. Refused to let me pay for the week one way and put the deposit on my credit card. I needed this rental with car seats for my kids and because they refuse to take your money any other way I was left stranded with no car seats and two toddlers. The lady at the desk was so rude and didnt offer me anything other than and oh well, next in line This place needs to be shut down. I had the money for it, but cant use debit without a credit check and they refused my cash as well.
It took over two hours to get our car that we made reservations for. They did not have our luxury car at all. They only let my husband go on the shuttle to get the car and left me alone on the curb at midnight. They we so rude to everyone. And thought that a Charger would be suitable for exchange. So disappointing in our overall experience.
Horrible service, I travel every week and will not be using them again. The car was NASTY and smelled like cigarette smoke. On returning the car it was very difficult to navigate to where we needed to return it. I pulled in and asked a lady with glasses that was a parking lot attendant at the dallas love field return area and she was VERY rude. Im in customer service and she would have been fired on the spot. This is the 2nd time this has happened with a dirty car. Crusty stuff all over the steering wheel, hair everywhere. GROSS experience.
Car received was not cleaned and it smelled horribly...Further the drivers seat didnt work properly... I phoned to let customer service know and they told me to take it to a location near me.. I went and they had no cars, drove to another place and same... I kept the car and returned it at the appropriate time... literally the gas meter was just below the full line and the clerk said because it wasnt on the line I had to add more gas smh..Customer service is horrible...I keep trying this service but keeps getting worse.. double charged me and just all around a terrible company... calling it quits, wont use them again. unless someone takes accountability..
The prices I get from Budget is great. However, my specific experience in Dallas Lovefield leaves a few things to be desired. We stood for about 45 minutes out on the heat with no shade and with my luggages waiting to get inside the office. Maybe you can build a place with a shade and bench for those who are waiting in line? Second, it was not impressed on me as I checked out the car that should my flight change and I have to return my rental very early in the morning that the return place will not be open as there are no after hours service. This is very inconvenient.
The car I received passenger car door would not open from the inside. I made several attempts to contact customer car department, I was advised to go to the nearest Budget Car Rental to exchange for another car. We I arrived the representative (he was very (accommodating) had no cars to exchange due to high request for rentals. He called several Budget Car Rentals, unfortunately the to had no cars to accommodate my request to exchange. The only advise was for me to go to the airport, which was 45 mins. away. I didnt take the inconvenient suggestion. My suggestion is to check cars thoroughly before renting to your customers.
I waited 3.5 hours to pick up my car. Im a fastbreak member. The process is extremely slow. My appointment was at 11:30pm, by the time I got the car I was 3 something am. When i returned the car, I filled up the tank, yet I was charged 3 gallons, an additional 30 dollars.
Pricing was correct. Friendly staff. The only drawback was the long lines. Friendly staff member saw that we require wheelchair/walker assistance and instead of having us catch the shuttle back to the airport he drove us there in the rental and helped us with our walkers and luggage. Way to go! You made our experience a better one.

2022-02-06I booked online so I only had to go in to find out where the car was parked. They told me it was parked at J4, but it took me over five minutes to find it because the signs were not showing that Letter J existed. Car had a scratch on the left. When I tried to use the navigation display, I accidentally touched something near it with my hand. Seemed like a hot sauce of some sort. Disgusting. Friendly staff. Car didn’t smell like smoke.

2022-06-13This was a great experience for my arrival in Dallas. The gentleman help me hook up my GPS so I knew where I was going in East Texas. The car was clean and in very good condition. This was a great rental experience and I would use Budget Rental again

2022-05-17Due to the time constraints of my itinerary I unfortunately did not have the time to properly review this car before having to leave... the car reeked of cigarette smoke...there was trash as the car was not adequately vacuumed...on top of an 1.5 hr wait because the Fastbreak service was not available....not recommended

2022-07-04I reserved a hybrid 3 weeks in advance. Our flight was late which put us arriving after closing time at 12am. I called Budget and was assured someone would wait for us as they had our flight number. No one waited. Went to our hotel via Lyft and at 8 am called Budget again to verify our car would still be there and was assured they hold reservations for 24 hours in case there is a delay such as ours. When we arrived we waited in a very long, slow line. The counter agent didn’t say anything to me about not holding our reservation or not having a hybrid so when we went to the lot and discovered we had been rented an Accord we were not happy. Went back in to the counter and were told they didn’t hold our reservation and they didn’t have a hybrid. Not good business practice. I’ve never had problems with Budget in the past and their prices are good but I would never again rent from them at Love Field.

2022-05-29The vehicle we rented was fine. The car seat however was no where near safe or acceptable. We requested a rear facing convertible seat. We were first given a booster. No where near appropriate for my 22 lb 1 year old. Then when we expressed this, we were given an old, outdated & heavily used seat, missing all padding and branding for us to resource correct installation instructions. Please beware before you consider renting a car seat from this dealer.

2022-05-02Communication barrier. I originally made an online reservation a month in advance. Added insurance online and would only need to present I.D and credit card the day of.I come in to this location and let the woman know I was picking up and she asks for my drivers license. She proceeded to ask me about insurance and I assured her I added insurance online and wasnt sure why she was asking again. She turns her screen to me and explains every coverage option and details. I tell her again I already did that online. She adds full coverage. The prices dont match and I explained my budget , thus why I booked ahead of time and online. She goes on a rant about inflation and traveling being a privilege.Upon my return, I go to my original reservation email because Im assuming it was the same one; to extend my return time by 2 hours. Not able to access anything. She created a brand new reservation and forced insurance on me that i didnt need.I will be more thorough and clear next tome around and I hope these women get training on how to listen to the customer.

2022-02-21I was nervous based on other reviews, but we had a really good experience. We ordered a standard SUV and got a 2020 Durango. We were expecting a smaller car like a Rogue, but were pleasantly surprised! Desk staff was friendly, shuttle to the lot was prompt, car was in great condition and ran smoothly for our 5-day trip. I did notice the additional $200 credit card hold on my credit card (in addition the the negotiated rate) so I’ll keep my eye on that that it falls off the charge. Drop off/shuttle back to airport was also smooth. All in all, we had a good experience with nothing bad to say.

2022-06-04I wish I could give ZERO STARS!!! The car was nice but was rented out without a proper inspection. Received the car and didn’t think to do a full fluid inspection. It was 5 am and we were driving g from Cali to Dallas. Get about 15 hours into our drive with our small children and dog and the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED LIGHT STARTS GOING OFF. Well it’s about 10 or 11 pm at night can’t remember and we’re at that point we’re there is no rest stops or opened gas stations for miles. We called road side assurance because that’s what we paid for and they tell us we have to take it to the nearest budget after we tell them we’re in the middle of no where. The car starts making weird noises so now we’re trying to speed to get to any station to buy quarts of oil. We decided to pull over on the side of road just to check I it out and make sure the light wasn’t coming in in error. There was absolutely no oil in this car. NONE!!! So we call road side again just for them to tell us it’s nothing they can do unless we are near a budget or pep boys. So what’s the feeling pint of getting roadside of you cannot assist your customers when stuck in the side of the freaking road. Worst experience ever and I would rather walk than ever rent from here again. No reimbursement No discount for inconvenience or anything. Customer service was the worst as every time I called I was transferred back and forth between road side and the supervisor. Road aside telling me well I’m sorry she said we could help, there is nothing we can do but you can go to your nearest pep boys. NEVER AGAINNNN!!!

2022-05-01In the case of this Budget location, prepayment of rental car week has NOTHING to do with convenience or discount. This facility had the audacity to REFUSE to honor the prepayment without the physical card that we left home. It is going on two hours that we are here. INCREDIBLE ABUSE and FALSE ADVERTISING! Do yourself a favor and stick with a reputable provider like Hertz or National, but understand that all these individual facilities are run like their own kingdoms!

2022-03-01I arrived here at 12:00 AM and the rental office still open, I received a great service and a nice clean SUV.
