The reps move as quickly as possible to serve all customers. First, I requested a sedan to rent. Instead, I received the wrong vehicle being an SUV. Second, it reeked the smell of cigarettes and the ashes are noticeable all around the seats, floors, consoles. They need to keep the vehicle cleaned, vacuumed and sanitized. Who ever is in charge needs to be on the up n’ up on it for their customers. Overall the service is average, but I had absolutely no time to go back and bicker about it. I was on a schedule for a meeting.
LONG SLOW LINE. If you are on a tight schedule, do not rent from Avis or Budget (they have a combined service counter with just one person. We rented a car on the Saturday before Easter, so there should have been two clerks. They were the only rental counter with a line so we were able to watch other people come and go while we waited. The clerk wasnt the problem, he did a good job, they were just understaffed.
Had a reservation with online pre-registration. Absolute bedlam, at least 20 people in a line that barely moved and, as looked like based on the number of unhappy people, no cars. Ended up renting from a different company for even more money, but at least they had cars. Never again.
Edit: someone finally got back to me so I’m increasing my rating. Just be aware that this location is not like other Budget locations since they seem to be an independent franchise.Good luck trying to get a receipt if you turn in your car after hours. They NEVER answer the phone. Also, cars are not great quality. Got an “upgraded” 2020 Camry that looked like it went through hell and back. Hail damage EVERYWHERE and the steering wheel would shake If going over 60 MPH and pieces of something were dangling from the under side. If anything, it turned me off ever buying a Toyota. Worst rental experience ever.
Budget rental car in San Antonio is pretty decent, but if you have coupons that you are asked to present at the counter, dont bother as they will not accept them. they will tell you that you got the lowest price already and that the private owner of this particular budget car rental place will not allow them to go any lower. when I checked in, the customer service representative told me to not check my vehicle in when I returned it but to let the person know that I would be asking the owner to honor the coupon that I had from budget. When they took my car back, they gave me back my paperwork and told me to take it to the desk. The clerk that saw the paperwork refused to give me the discount at that point and said that the owner would not allow it even though they never even checked with him. so if you get a 20 or 30% off your rental at Budget, make sure its in there before you book because they wont give it to you afterwards. no matter what the email you get that says you can utilize that when you pay for your rental, you cannot do so at the San Antonio airport.
Horrible just horrible I had to go to a funeral and had already paid and then said well it’s not a major credit card but the money was taken out a week ago for the vehicle and put on hold just tell you to go else where when you already paid for a vehicle I missed my uncle’s funeral thanks to them and other locations did not have any vehicles available
Great opportunity to travel back in time and rent a car before the internet was invented. Have a Fastbreak account? It doesnt matter! You still get to wait in line at the counter to pick up your rental. For every person ahead of you, expect a 10-20 minute wait.Drop-off is surely better, right? Wrong! You cant just drop off the car and be on your way. You get to wait on an attendant to process your return. Mine was nice enough to ignore me for a few minutes before telling me that he would get to me in a little while. There were no other customers around. It only took about 10 minutes total, but thats about 9 minutes and 40 seconds longer than necessary. Besides, why would anyone be in a hurry at the airport?If you have to rent from Budget, it may be worth it to fly in to Austin instead of San Antonio. That Budget location is modern, easy and efficient.
I give these guys a 5 Star. Although the Airport is not my favorite place to rent a vehicle (unless I fly in), at least you could find one. I reside here and driving in to Find the Car Rental Area at the Airport can be a bit of a challenging, so give yourself an extra 20 minutes or so. Also, apparently there is a Car Rental Shortage. Not sure whats really the cause but I beleive the Auto Manufacturer Chip shortage everyone is being reffering to is affecting the Car Rental Companies. Before going there I contacted Budget Rental by phone. The young lady on the phone, Ms. Felicia Smith, went over and beyond to help me get what I needed. She was fast, proffessional and very receptive to a family emergency situation. By helping us with a last minute Rental to make a trip out of town, my family and I were able to attend my brother in laws Funeral and pay our Respects. Thanks Budget!!!! I will definitely give you the first shot and Rent from you again!P.S Consider that Girl for a Bonus Pay Raise and Regional Supervisory Responsibilities!!!
Fair pricing but I had a horrible customer service experience. The San Antonio Airport Budget rents out cars with Rental Agreement numbers that cannot be found in the system at the support office or the website, the location, and the location manager didnt pick up the phones and didnt bother to return our phone calls. We even tried calling the emergency number... Nothing!!!
If you need a copy of your receipt, then you can DEFINITELY scratch Budget Rental Car off your list; especially the San Antonio International Airport location. They promise to email the receipt to you but NEVER do! Then it takes weeks & numerous phone calls & chats (including long wait times) struggling to obtain it; the worst service ever!
Reserved a car with my debit card, receive email confirmation. When my flight arrives, they won’t take the same debit card I reserved with, claim it has to be a credit card, which I didn’t bring with me. Why didn’t t my email confirmation say you won’t accept a debit card?? I fail to see the logic in that. Won’t take a debit card with $100k+ in that account, but will take any old credit card that may only have a $500 limit? Only way they would take my debit card was with it accompanied by my flight itinerary, and a Declaration page from insurance company, which was closed for the weekend. My reservation was for a $75 car, ended up next door at Alamo, who were happy to accept my debit card with just my itinerary, and I ended up spending over $200 with them. Great business model ya got there guys...
I had an awful experience with this location at San Antonio airport. Please PLEASE PLEASE dnt rent here. Doing the inclement weather I rented 2/13-2/17/21. My total was $199.12 I was stuck in Dallas due to weather flights was canceled. I attempted to reach budget numerous times no answer nor call back until I was almost home in a different state. The president name Kelvin returned my call very Rude didn’t care about the weather told me he was charging me a $400 drop fee. I said why and the car was unlimited miles not to mention I couldn’t reach anyone nor drive into San Antonio. Here it is 2weeks later I was charged $1501 for the rental. The employees just calling back today 2/24/21 stating Kelvin was upset I refused the $400 dollar drop fee so he charged me a total of $1501. That I’m currently DISPUTING PLEASE save your money and the hassle by not renting here... 10 thumbs down😡😡 One star only because I couldn’t post without it. They are a -0 for star rating!!!!!
Terrible customer service. Employee there literally hung up on me. Does not pick up their phone. Was trying to extend my rental and they literally waited 2 days to call me back when it was already past the return date. Employee there said I should have patience. Yes I should be patient enough to wait for a phone call after I return the car to extend the car. Genius. If you call the 1800 budget or go to another budget anywhere else they cannot help because it is a licensee location apparently. Also, car was not clean when I picked it up and employee just said oh ill make a note of that. Budget supposedly takes sanitation or cleanliness seriously due to covid but this location does not. Definitely chose another company when renting or at least another location. Corporate budget apologized profusely and offered some discounts. Do not expect any help or apologizes from this location.Attached is a picture of what the employee wrote on the condition report when I picked up the car. I had great customer service when renting my vehicle but have not been able to reach anyone at this branch for the life of me since. I recently found out I will have to extend my rental and have tried calling and left messages to no avail. Looks like I am going to have to drive all the way to the airport to see if I can extend instead of just calling,especially because the main company cannot find my reservation because it was entered manually? Shucks.
Awful customer service. Tried to extend my rental desk was too busy to get the request proceeded timely and help number was just plain stupid. They couldnt find my rental. They told me I upgraded and I was lying so they could not help me over the phone. I finally hung up and sat in the airport for 6 hours instead.
Never again Id rather carry my stuff on my back before I risk my life in a beat up unsupported dangerous vehicle..felt like I was in a action movie all the way from San Antonio to Milwaukee ....they had no love for me and decided $90 was enough pay off to me to get me off the phone quicker.....and I took it......hush money
The first car I was offered had a new tag but it was white with excessive damage so I declined it. The second car I received smelled like urine (that had been sprayed to cover the smell) and was also covered with dog fur in which I had an allergic reaction to. The third car I received had expired tags. The only way to contact the rental counter directly to ensure there is a car available is to drive there because the number provided is for the offsite location.
Be aware people!!!! This company and its employees are thieves and not professional at all!! Today Dec.26, 2020 I went to this location of Budget rental at San Antonio Airport, TX after I have made my reservation the other night for a car for 2 nights as my own car got broke and you know its holidays season besides an urgent appointment I got to go to the doctor! But with this bad and not professional company and employees then your days must get ruined because they do their best to disappoint and frustrate you after you lose alot with them! Any way after I gave that woman my ID to make a copy and take my info, and my credit card as well she charged my the whole amount and some extra dollars on top for I dont know what, and then she told me to wait for 15 minutes to get the car ready, this took an hour for her to call me back and tell me that she is gonna charge my credit card again as she doesnt see it on the other system after admitting that she ran it on that terminal where she swiped my card and I also showed her that this transaction went through and got approved on my account on the credit card website in addition to the 2 phone calls I made to the credit card company and let that employee talked with them! She insisted to charge md again and treated me in a very rude and ugly away as she tried to steal my money or kick me out of the place ( I got everything recorded on a video) she treated me in trashy and disgusting way and ignored me while i was trying to understand if i am gonna get the car that i have reserved and paid for or at least get my money back! But she kept yelling at me to move or pay again. I HAVE GOT THE PROOF THAT THEY HAVE CHARGED ME and wasting at least 3 hours of my time and ruin my day and put that pressure over my head because of my other commitments for my family! After all i got her to call her supervisor Tony who did the same if not worse by trying to charge me over or kick me out! This is so ugly and i was and still overwhelmed because of their attitude and very bad treatment for their customer!!! At the end I had to call the cops for them and got a case number to see what Ivd got to do next!I didnt get the car!I didnt get my money back!I couldnt get my familys stuff done!But they have wasted my time, ruined my day , took my money, and treated me bad and ugly instead!!!!!
I am a frequent traveler. Budget did not have the car I reserved, so they gave me a replacement. However, the agent would not let me exit the lot because the car didnt match my reservation?! I was delayed, while they tried to figure out their own systems, and was late for my meetings.And forget talking to a competent person at the Budget customer service number. After calling twice, no one could even understand my simple question, so I emailed them asking for a return call. The following week I got an email reply from Phil saying they do not have the functionality to call me.Save yourself the aggravation, use another company.
Quick check in and out. Decent car selection. The low rating because after I denied all additional coverage, the clerk still tried to sneak it on my bill. It wasnt until I was asked to sign that I questioned it. It was removed promptly. If you are going to rent here, check your bill prior to leaving the counter.
Great place to rent! The girl I worked with was new, but still did a great job. She was very professional and super nice. I had to return the vehicle early due to a military issue, and they were very understanding. Vehicle was extremely clean and they were very thorough. Will definitely be back and recommend everyone to this Budget.
We made a reservation two months in advance for a car. Unfortunately our flight was delayed 3 hours and we arrived after Budget closed for the day. (All other rental agencies are open all night except Budget) We had to Uber to our hotel. When we called about our car the next morning they told us they cancelled our reservation (without confirming with us first!) because we werent there by closing. Not only that but they gave away the car we reserved so we had no car for our honeymoon! You cant get a rental car in San Antonio without a reservation. We were stranded for 5 hours in a hotel lobby until Hertz was finally able to go above and beyond to find us a car. Skip the headache of Budget and just go with Hertz!
I reserved a moving truck for going back home. When we got there to pick it up, was told the debit card I was going to use had to match the drivers license of the person driving. Nowhere on the website did it say this. So we had to cancel the reservation, which put us leaving later this week plus I had to find another rental truck. If you want to keep up with competitive companies, then this not the way. I would not recommend this company to anyone....
By far the worst Rent-A-Car experience I’ve ever had! Fast break is a joke, don’t bother signing up for it. I walk up to to the counter and try to give the guy my fast break info and he ignores that and ask for my phone number, then proceeds to take me through the full process. I asked him why sign up for fast break if I have to go through the full process anyway? He then tells me I’m not a fast break customer. I offer to show him my conformation email, but I’m told by him that he’s in charge of fast break and I’m not on his list. He’s defensive and I’m get frustrated. The employee tells me if want to be rude he’ll just not rent me a car. I never raised or said anything rude and in hindsight I should have walked down to another counter, but just waited for him to do the contract. Got to the vehicle and found that I was given an economy vehicle instead of the compact I reserved and was charged for. First time with Budget and I’m not sure I’ll ever use them again.
The car I rented had the check engine light come. I called to notify them and was asked not to drive the vehicle until the supervisor called me back which they assured me would be soon. 3-1/2 hours later I called only to have them tell me not to worry about the light. When I raised the fact that I waited 3-1/2 hours for them to call me back, the best they could say was Oops, well address this issue with the employee. No recognition of the inconvenience to me.
I use this location all the time. Jessica and her staff of extremely professional employees always seem to make my day. I love coming here and I will even drive out of my way to make sure I Always rent a car from them. Ive never had a complaint. They also always seem to be full of suggestions on where to eat or where to sleep when others are coming in from out of town. Theyre great! I recommend them highly!
The front desk attendant is tops. She was handling customer reservations, drop offs, fetching vehicles and answering phones. I had to return my hitch and the attendant was able to process my return. The wait here is comparatively long but get here before your reservation pick up time so they can grab the right vehicle for you. But you simply cannot beat the price. Budget helped me save $400 on a cross country move so there is very little I can complain about.
I started of by booking a car online. It gave me me my final price and I used a Debit card to check out. I was cool with them putting a $100.00 hold until I actually got to the facility and of course was greeted by one of their staff. After my arrival I told the guy my name and also told him my name and that I booked online. He then said he couldnt find my reservation and so then we started from scratch. He asked how much was the rental online and I told him. So he took my information down and then proceeded to tell me that if Im using a debit card that there will be a $250.00 hold on my card. At that moment I was upset because I told him that this is ridiculous because I booked online and and checked out and then I arrive here and then the terms changed. So I admit I went back and forth with the $250.00 hold that I was not happy with that. He said he was sorry and I must say by this time Im starting to get agitated. Im keeping my cool though. So I said you know what its fine lets just get this over with. So after I gave him the ok he said also I forgot to tell you when renting with a debit card you have to have your own Insurance to rent the car! So I look at him and I said really? I bought the Insurance online it told me the price and I booked it and that was that! So I come in here and everything and I mean everything changed. It went from one price to a even higher price. I rented the car for 3 days and it cost me almost 400 dollars. I then proceeded to tell him that as he can tell Im not very happy and Im not the type to get mad or upset about anything. But I must say this one took the cake! I did inform him that they need to post this online when booking outside of the airport and that all these hoops I had to jump thru was absolutely insane. Anyways.. the car I got was new and super clean.. I give them props for that because my last experience with budget the car was filthy and had ants in it. Will I rent again from budget? Probably not! I usually rent with Alamo/enterprise since they have a wide selection of cars, trucks, Vans and etc. Thanks Budgetfor making my rental experience a living hell. If you are going to rent here I suggest calling and asking all the questions about your type of payment and what is needed to rent a car.
I will never EVERRRRR!!! rent a car from Budget again. The worse experience ever. The lady who check us in was useless and not helpful at all. I rented the car on Wed morning and returned it by Sat at 6:00 a.m. No one was at the front desk so we had to go back to where we returned the car and find the guy at the booth to let him know we were returning the car. The guy gave printed out a copy of my receipt with all the taxes and all came up to 292.31. When I check my credit card bill the next day they had bill my credit card $322.00 which is more than my original receipt. I try to contact them by phone and it been impossible to get through them. The call keeps cutting off or it does not go through. It is by far the worse experience ever and I will dispute this bill due to you (Budget) can not over charge more than what it was on the original receipt. That is why you give your customers one so they know how much it was right there in there and not charge what ever the hell you want later. Dont ever rent from budget again they will screw you over.
This was the end of our trip/drop off point. We rented a 16 truck to move from upstate NY to San Antonio, TX. Our trip was over 1800 miles! The truck was safe and ran great, provided decent gas mileage on the trip and did the job. It was extremely uncomfortable for three people to ride in and tow our car, lesson learned. We unloaded it, cleaned up then filled the gas in the truck and returned it here. No issues, we were in and out and moved halfway across the country at last! This spot is kind of a trek from the airport but they may have a shuttle or some service for flyers.
The girl with the locs that helped my friend was exceptional. She took very good care of friend made the day a little easier as she just had a car crash and needed a car for work the next day. So I am very impressed with the level of service rendered to my friend. It a great place to get a car I would recommend 100%
Employees were curteous. The car is clean. Everything was explained up front. But, a few annoying issues to be aware of.1. In order to use a debit card, you have to show a plane ticket with a return flight.?.? If you live in Tulsa they will not accept debit cards.2. As seen in the picture, they charge $9.90 per gallon if the car is not brought in with a full tank. The price of gas in the area is $2.29 per gallon. I have never seen a rental company charge more than a dollar more per gallon than the price in the area.3.They charge $3.95 above the toll charges per day for a toll device, even on days you dont use it.
My friend Selina and I was debating if we want to rent a car to driving around for a couple days so we decided to go to Budget in the airport to ask about the pricing to rent a car. The employee Steven, he was very friendly to us and explain to us how much would it cost for us. Since we were both under 25 - we had to pay around $148 including insurance. We didnt have too deposit any money too which was awesome. He also gave us a discount because of the military ID. He told us where to go to get our car - which was taking the shuttle bus & it took us straight to our car! The man who drove the shuttle bus was very friendly too! He told us what we need to know so we dont need to pay extras. Everyone was just so friendly at Budget. I will definitely return to Budget next time when I need to rent a car!
Absolutely the worst experience I have had with any car or truck rental. Arrived early and still had to wait. The truck that I reserved was not available and I had to take a larger truck. Truck was dirty inside and out. Windows and mirrors were dirty, both front tires were worn to the wear bars and they were bald on the outer shoulders. The alignment was also off. Horrible customer service. Unfortunately, I was not in a spot where I could run around and get a different truck. Had a long drive to Phoenix.
Location didnt have the typical computer based system for checking in car returns, so had to wait while the manager checked me in on a mobile laptop cart and printed a receipt. The friendly and helpful staff made up for it, so hopefully theyll get the better computer system soon. Might be in need of some love from corporate.
Only 1 STAR because I cant give anything less. Fast Break customer. Therefore, I just walk in, they assign me a car and Im out the door. It was pouring rain the day I rented and they assign me a car the furthest out in the parking lot. No help, no offer with an umbrella to keep me dry.As I checked out, the did not cover Fuel Policy with me, as I am Fast Break. I was reconciling my cc statement and theres a $155.08 charge for Fuel Charges. By my 4TH phone call, I finally got someone. She said I was charged $8.99 per gallon for refueling! WHAT!??!! I could understand charging me .50 cents or $1 more per gallon, BUT an additional $6 over the price at the pump. COME ON!! I am awaiting a call from their Customer Service manager. Not holding my breath.
Their contract had an insurance questionnaire that no person could answer without calling into their insurance carrier (which the guy at the counter oddly gloated about) and bogged down the process. Concerned because the back tire had a tumor of air but when I expressed that it looked ready to pop they said its fine. Would rather go back to uhaul. Regardless of price.
Car smelled like cigarettes so bad I could hardly stand to be in it. I was in a hurry and kept it and suffered for two days with it. Told them when I returned and they sort of said, too bad, and offered me no compensation or other value for my trouble. Will not rent there ever again, or at any other Budget agency if I can help it.
In general I love budget but was very disappointed this time around! It was frustrating to learn at 430am, the office doesnt open until 5am. That was problematic with a 625am flight, especially since the rental car office is 1.5 miles from the airport itself. There was no notification when I picked up the car, AND my flight times were loaded into the reservation. In total there were 8 others waiting to drop off their cars, and thank goodness the security line was short!
The person who assisted me was very friendly and helpful. I returned the rental to this location after renting it from Budget at Bush Intercontinental Airport before driving to San Antonio. I had absolutely no problems returning the vehicle whatsoever and am very grateful for excellent customer service.
Awful experience with Steven at the San Antonio Airport location. Charged a full days rental after returning an hour late. I asked at the time of pick-up what to do if I run late and he said to just call and it should be no problem. After trying to call the number provided on the contract, it rings to an automated system with no way to reach a representative. The contracts provided offer no information on late returns and the representative that helped me (Steven) withheld this information when I asked for it. When questioned about the fee on my receipt, he quickly stated that I would need to speak with a supervisor tomorrow and drove off to out away the rental.
Staff rude, pushy and aggressive. Cost of rental came to just about TWICE what I was quoted on line, at pick up was not explained why, at drop of (which is too late) they tried to reason. Had to return car day early because at pick up I was told they didnt open til 5 am & that Id have to stand in line to drop off when flight was at 6:am international. Didnt get a refund for the timelost or taxi fare. I will never recommend San Antonio Budget car rental! Rip off artists!
I was going through a tough patch and needed a vehicle to get around...so I rented a vehicle from budget. One they only rent week to week, two Brittney is not a nice person and three they drafted my account 10 times in 1 day resulting in a huge overdraft for me, and I cant get any assistance in recouping some of the over draft fees. Never had a problem with them until they did this...and what bank allows this to happen as well. I dropped them too.
I was at the car rental by 12 pm. It took Laura the attendand three hrs to verify my car insurance.I did not receive the car until 3pm .The emplyees 4 of them could never paired my phone with the B tooth.It was a complete NIGHT MARE.I returned the car the next day and going over my bill I noticed that I was charged for two days instead of one.it was not my fault the stupid Laura does not know how to read the effective day on my insurance card.Because she kept me on waiting three hrs I missed the appt I had at 4pm that particular day.I call now to speak to some one about my bill and this guy hanged the fone on me.I WONT NEVER RECOMEND TOANY BODY TO RENT FROM Budget againManager: you do not neet to have as bad employee as Laura.She has not clue what she is doing.Celma Gallego
I got charge 3 times the original estimate.12.5 per gallon of gas, DO NOT BUY INSURANCE from this scammers will cost you 100 dollars per day or more. and all of this did not happen if you arrive 2 hrs before and monitor your charges in your credit card before your take off.car was dirty smoke and have dents all over i have to wait 30 minutes for some one to come and document the idiot car before i drove a way.
The woman at the counter threatened to call the police on my fiancée because we were having a conversation amongst each other about the terrible service we received at the previous location. When I asked her what she would even call the police for since no one was talking to or about her, she proceeded to say that it was because he was “disturbing her peace”. This woman was obviously prejudice by the way she treated customers of color and I am deeply disturbed by the attitude of both locations I went to.
Was really disappointed in this place. I rented a car online. Made sure that it was with free mileage. When I went to pickup they told me that it was going to be per mile cost added on. It was when Houston flooded this past August. So the one agent told me they can make more money off insurance companies then what Im paying so that is why they added cost. Needless to say I walked away.
Prior to turning in my car I had read several negative reviews of this location.My experience was that I had a 7:10 AM flight; I was at the Budget Rental Location by 4:55 AM and had cleared TSA by 5:20 AM/FANTASTIC. Not only that; the Shuttle Driver took charge of my golf clubs and suitcase before I could blink (i.e., had them on the Shuttle) while I handled by brief case and cpac machine - then he ensured I got assistance getting my stuff off the shuttle and had parked within easy walking distance of the Delta Outside Counter.Bottom line, OUTSTANDING service in all respects with the folks at San Antonio Airport Budget Rental - fast, friendly, extremely helpful, and professional - you cannot ask for more!
DO NOT RENT from Budget Airport location. They will not honor their price online. I had a quote for 114.91 from both Expedia and Budget Corporate and they simply did not honor it. They wanted to charge about $130 USD over. Terrible customer service from the person in the counter and the manager on August 8, 2019.
I wouldve given 5 stars however their computer system was down and after a full day of air travel and arriving after midnight, the last thing I wanted was waiting in a long line to a counter which seemed like there was no contingency plan for when systems go down. However, once check-in was completed it was a breeze. The key was in the vehicle as stated. There was an ez tag in the vehicle for tolls but I still elected to pay with cash due to the daily fee for their ez pass. If you use the pass once, all ensuing days will be charged with the ez pass fee regardless if you utilize it. The vehicle extension process on the phone is meant to be automated however the automated system was not working properly and I was redirected to a customer service rep. I still liked Budget over other rental companies at Logan due to the cheaper price.
I made a reservation for budget because it was cheap and also close to the airport. The lot was offsite and took 10 minutes or more to get there. Then we got there, and despite the being several employees present, and us being next in line, we had to wait 10 minutes to be helped. Then we got our car, a very nice toyota corolla, but there was only one lane to exit and a car got stuck in front of us. Overall, not a great car rental experience.
WOW!! What a joke!! I called and reserved a rental car from Budget for my son (college student) that was flying in from Iowa for a wedding in the hill country. When reserving the car the Budget Rent a Car website asked for the age of the driver, which I replied with 25 years old or younger. For a weekend rental the total was going to be around $112 (this amount including numerous fee/taxes) I forwarded that amount to my son so he could pay for the rental with his bank card upon his arrival. As flights go, his was delayed and he did not arrive at Budget until 12:20 a.m. If you notice on the website for the airport budget rent a car, their hours are from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. NOT TRUE!! There was not a soul there! He called several numbers for Budget and of course no one could help him until the Budget site at the airport opened back up at 5 a.m. which left him stranded at the airport for many hours in the middle of the night. He was at Budget at 5a.m....do you think an employee was there at that time? NO!When the employee did show, my son preceded to pay for the rental car and the not-so-happy-to-be-at-work employee told him the charge would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $210. He is a college student, he doesnt even have a fixed income...he has no income. The unhappy employee told him the extra free of $25/day was because he was under 25 years of age. Needless to say, he only rented the darn car for one day and we will never, ever rent a vehicle from Budget again. When shopping for a vehicle on line, Budget was the least expensive so thats what we chose. Tacking on extra fees upon arriving is not the way to do business. The company knew when I reserved the car the driver was under 25 years of age. Dont be misleading just to make a deal....be up front with the charges!! I am 55 years old, I can still remember when there was such a thing as customer service, when the customer was always right. Do you remember that phrase?? Now days, no one cares if they provide the customer with service, they could care less if you ever buy, rent, shop with their company again, they will just find some one else to screw over! Sadly disappointed!! I wonder if Budget even reads their own reviews...probably not, why would they!
I rented a full-sized Toyota Camry for my trip to JBSA. Everything was checked until I noticed the car was not properly washed nor vacuumed. Trash was found inside the compartments and door pockets. The central compartment was full of trash including a parking ticket from the last rental. A four-starred rating for the staffs willingness to fix the issue, their shuttle service, and decent quality of the vehicle at a low price.
Recently my wife and I came to this location to rent a moving truck and they didn’t have the right size truck available. Their customer service, which name is Laura, was so so and they never gave me a contract when we had the truck in hand. When we returned the truck, they wanted to charge us extra miles when we only drove 27 miles.
I was told i was to pay a certain amount on services and fees that would include the cost of insuring the vehicle. When i got here they said it would be an additional 150 to insure the vehicle. I ended up in a smaller car because i couldnt afford what we originally agreed to. Now i know where they got their name. Lol
I rented a car from budget and needed to extend the rental. I called this office and they needed a number to extend the rental that was neither on the contract, car, or on the key. Mind you I rented the car from them and they needed information from me that they didn’t give me. What a ridiculous problem to create for your customer. 0/10
I got a problem with renting a car with my Debit Card, my card was declined by all rental companies around San Antonio Airport which is the first time had like this problem. I used to rent cars with my debit card before in other cities with no problem. let is be honest, if there were no Budget there I would be lost my day, money and the appointment that i had in that day.Thanks Budget!
Wow, where to start? My flight leaves at 6am, their lot doesnt open until 5am. They dont have after hours return so my options are to... nothing because they dont care. I ended up having to leave my hotel and rent one next to the airport the night before to return the car while they were open, wasting more money. They dont answer their phones, so the only people to help me was the corporate number and they were less thank helpful. Dont rent from here, ever. Zero stars would be more accurate.
GREAT car, appreciated the rental agent suggestion of an upgrade, since we were transporting several Airmen @ BMT graduation. She also recommended a fabulous steak house called the Barn Door in San Antonio, TX. We drove a 1st class SUV for a compact price! Budget ROCKS!
Only one star because i cant give it less, first off the car was dirty with bugs stuck to the winshield, second we were running late on our rental, so we called, and called and called, no one answers the phone, so we called budget coporate, who connected us through a back line, we explaned how late we were gonna be only 2 hours, and we agreed to pay for the extra day, when we arrived they were closed, so we came back the next morning having already extended an extra day, when we turned the car in, they charged us an extra $25 on top of the extra day because they said we were late and that they tried to call us that morning (which they didnt) and therefore they sent us a certified letter and was charging $25 for it. We complained and demanded a manager, none was available, staff was rude and disrespectfull, and in the end i was charged for a fee that was not listed in my contract, when infact i had done my part as a customer and.contacted them and extended my rental, checked my phone bill and no call was made from them that morning, and as of a week later no certified letter has been recieved.Last time i rented from budget in phoenix and drove to san antonio to this location for drop off, i dropped the car off clean, and with a full tank of gas, days later i get charged $350 as they said the car was dirty and had E for gas, i had to fight with my cc company to get my money back, thank goodness i kept my gas reciept and took a picture of the car before return.Do not ever rent from this franchise location ever
Parking rent marketed as $6 (not cover). Receipt shows many charges. I paid $28.86 for three days. That’s $9.62 including tax per day.... a budget indeed. Don’t mind to pay but not truthful of the parking cost. Receipt does not print correctly. I had screen shot of the webpage and receipt. Date parked Sept. 10-12, 2018 but receipt shows other date.
Budget has a history of poor service and sneaky upcharges at the last minute. The San Antonio airport Budget is no different. I booked on Costco Travel and had an upcharge when I got to the counter that I had to either accept or be stranded at the airport. Steer clear and use Alamo or National both of which, in my experience, havent ever upcharged me or changed the price as stated by Costco.
Was not only given misinformation by their reservation department but when I tried to call the location to verify information it went straight to voicemail. When I contested what they told me at that location they asked me if I called them. How can I call them if the calls go to someones voicemail. Their stupid response was that on weekends, which it was a weekend, they have no one to answer the calls they just rent out cars. Ridiculous! I will NOT be renting from these people ever again!
Budget in general is a fairly good company but this San Antonio Airport Budge Car Rental Location is the worst. They have no professional staff and they have the worst customer service. Budget hasterrible communicatoin among thier staff. I have provided them with thousands in business a year and will now only use Enterprise, Alamo, National, Hertz. They have provided me with much better rates and service.
I dont think I can post without giving at least 1 star. If I could there would be NO STARS, perhaps negative 4 stars. WOW, what a vile excuse for a person (@ San Antonio airport location) I tried to communicate with in regards to renting a car. This monster hates herself, her job, & Budget. I wish I had the energy to give a full play by play (even though this is long it could be longer) but I dont care enough. In short, she kept saying to me, I only rent cars. Me: after smiling, thought awesome, thats what I need. Okay, I would like to rent.... INTERRUPTED by monster. Blah blah repeat rudely. What she chose NOT to say as I later figured out was In person we only complete the online reservations; the way Budget works is all of our vehicle reservations have to be completed online. Then customers come here & we place them w/ a vehicle. Or something to that effect. She NEVER tried to actually help me or inform me. Good quality companies educate & train their current & potential customers. She just kept repeating the same mantra.Well, online or not I have questions. I always have questions & since SHE was not paying for my rental I have a right to ask questions. She refused to answer any questions apparently b/c I didnt already book a car online. This useless thing is probably why the prices at Budget are so low. I will never (never say never? LOL I am saying NEVER) deal w/ Budget again. And I will not approve them as a vendor for any company I work for even if I have to pay (not get reimbursed) out of my own pocket. Budget Rent A Car is the enemy. And this employee is its minion.
The price was okay and Im not sure if this is the third party I rented the car from or if its budgets problem but I was told I would have a Dodge Avenger or similar and they gave me a little Kia which I was not happy about I like to rent American cars whenever possible. The car that they gave me smelled horrible. All of the employees I encountered were very professional.
Awful experience from start to finish at the San Antonio Airport FRANCHISE location.- Charged for damage that was on the car when it was picked up, which was noted and recorded by the rep at the checkout exit- Blew a tire in another city and could not get assistance from this location as they are a franchise and cannot help outside the city of San Antonio- Customer service at the office was horrendous; lack of eye contact, communication, attentiveness (There is a distinct difference between the attitude and approach at the San Antonio Airport Budget compared to other non-franchise locations such as those in Dallas & Houston)- Shuttle is infrequent and a longer than expected drive- Options to lodge formal complaints are limited; Not a BBB location and not part of BudgetRenting from this location is a gamble.
This place saved me when the GoShuttle people screwed me over. They were fast, friendly, and affordable. The Budget shuttle drivers (between airport and rental facility) will help with your bags and give you tips on getting around town. Will use them again if I find myself back in San Antonio.
I guess it was the end of their shift. Brief and brusque conversation, rather unusual. The week prior. I got another rental from UHaul, at Eckhert and Huebner, and delivering the truck back was the opposite reception. Friendly, fast and precise. Clerk name was Albert. I will choose UHaul next time.
We had an employee, Jenifer, who lied to us. She had us right down our bank card number and then deposit the money into our account. Afterwards she said she was going to shred the paper. Two weeks later were still being charged by Budget, and all charges were put in manually. This employee also told us she was fight breast cancer. We have reason to believe she was stealing money from us. I understand why no one uses Budget, theyre overcharge for rentals and the employees are theives
I reserved my truck a week ahead of time and they did not have my truck for me on the day I reserved it. Staff was very rude and did not care that this was reserved. The manager was extremely rude and refused to allow me to speak to her supervisor.Dont rely on them to keep their reservation or you will get screwed too
I hate this company, I was told it was going to be 250 but when I arrived it was 500 because they had a 250 deposit they held I had to call family to lend me money in a panic in the middle of the night because they had not told me that on the phone. The woman working the desk was very rude I pray they end up in another state counting on a car and a price and are lied to like I was. I don’t know why they even put the word budget in their name.
Don’t get Rentle car from budget they r ripping off . They changed me 8.99 per gallon fuel which is not good no where is that price I got car from enterprise and fox and some other companies but nobody changed me gas money like that . They said it is in ur contact which is they never explain it .
We parked here for 7 nights starting 6/18/16. We parked outside and the shuttle was right there and followed us and picked us up at car. Better than other places where you have to go to a hub. Fast and convinient. Regular rate is $6/day. $1/day extra for covered parking.
I had a good experience here the weekend of June 19 2015. Crazy as it is for most people to do, read the paperwork that says they will charge an arm and a leg for fuel if you return the vehicle not in the same condition as you received it... also if you arent rushed and actually prepare for any hiccups you may find that those assisting you will be more friendly to you if you are to them... just because you have a frequent flyer status with them doesnt mean they are required to bend over backwards for you just because you didnt plan for a weather problem.POINT IS: lack of planning on your part doesnt constitute an emergency on theirs.I will be using budget next time and will refer others there also.
The worst customer service ever! Very unprofessional, very rude. Didnt want to rent from here, but it was late & we had no choice. Also, the car had a terrible cigarette smoke odor that never diminished even after I used my own air freshener. We will never be back, ever!! 👎👎👎👎👎
Absolutely horrendous location. Rude agents and no sense of time. A 2:30pm reservation was not ready upon arrival at 2:45. Agents didnt seem to have a problem with this and being on a time crunch. Jess the agent was extremely rude, forgetful, and unhelpful with our reservation. Avoid at all costs.
Worst experience renting a car ever. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for the pick up bus. Its not affiliated with Avis so none of the multiple Avis buses would pick me up. I was told to just return my car to the same location after I told them my flight was at 6 am and when I returned the car, they were closed. I tried calling them and could never get directly to the location. The manager couldve cared less about my experience. Absolutely terrible.
I came here with the highest level of anxiety about our cross country move. The representative Adonis (this is at the 7680 Bandera rd location in San Antonio) was INCREDIBLE. He was personable, calm, did a thorough inspection with us of the vehicle, took care of all of our needs, and was so helpful. He has made me a budget customer for life. I can’t thank him enough for making this move so smooth and helping me through the entire process. He explained all the coverages we had purchased in depth (this was one of my biggest concerns), and even offered us an additional tow ramp for my vehicle which saved us a TON of money in gas and mileage (which also was super affordable). The prices are unbeatable and the customer service was unlike anything I have ever experienced anywhere. Thank you, Adonis if you are out there reading this. You may think of it as just doing your job, but you have no idea how much you have alleviated al my concerns and made me at ease with this trip. I LOVE Budget!!!!
How do I begin... Cant get a hold of the staff.. No direct line... Needed to get a hold of a rep to no avail.... Worst experience, especially since I had an emergency and couldnt get a hold of anyone... !!!!.. I will just pay the extra money and go to more reliable agency...
Almost got arrested for auto-theft. Long story of holidays, voicemails and other mess. Very costly lesson in the end . Friends and favors dont mix. My fault, wont travel that route again. Found out this location is not part of the Budget Family... Stand alone location, why the confirmation number was never found plus no one answers the phone after a certain time. Left message and still was served by bounty repo guy....

2022-04-05We waited over 2 hours in line to get our vehicle, even though we had reservations. The attendants took at least 25 mins per customer, sometimes more. Their computer system was painfully slow. We watched all the other car services quickly flow through each customer so it definitely wasnt an internet issue. I’ve never waited in line for a car this long. We got to our car and found the back windshield wiper broken off.

2022-04-26We rented a car for several days from San Antonio Airport. From get go, the service was terrible. We were told they would email the contract to us. Even after telling the lady how to spell the email, several times we did not receive the contract.The car was filthy with specs of blood on the makeup mirror. Interior and exterior was bad notTo mention the rancid smell of cigarette smoke.When we returned the car the fellow checkingI’m the cars keptTelling me to drive closer to the car in front of me. He got upset when I quit because I was ready to hit the bumper. However he allowed the car behind us a good 3 feet in between cars. I questioned him on this and he gave a crude comment and smirked at me.I would not recommend Budget from this airport.

2022-07-25They charged me $450 for a cleaning fee because the car was smoked in but it was already like that before we rented it and the lady who helped us said she would give us a smoke free car and she clearly didnt and now they are charging me that much Also, the car wasnt full all the way with gas. I returned the car with more gas than what they gave me and cleaner than when I picked it up and they will only return $250 to me and will not return the full $450. Horrible customer service I will never ever rent from them again.

2022-03-02I had to wait in line more than 25 minutes. They gave me a full size van instead of a small suv because they had no other vehicles. When I returned the vehicle to the facility, I stayed in line to speak with a representative and ask not to charge my credit card but charge my debit card. Another 25 minutes staying in line. The result? Weeks later, my credit card shows the charge… I wish they would have trained personnel.

2022-04-26No issue with the vehicle we got, it was in good condition. The problem was with the customer service. I planned on using a debit card to pay for the rental, but the gentleman helping me refused to accept my debit card. This wouldn’t have been that big of a problem, but 1) I was told when I booked that using a debit card would be okay 2) I was literally looking at their debit card policy ON THE DESK as he was telling us this (which stated using it would be okay to use). Additionally, we needed to add a driver and he would only tell us that “it would be a lot of money”. He would not tell us the final total and it was frustrating. Just please make sure you have a credit card with you to avoid headache.

2022-05-10Well, I’m going on 2 hours in line. It takes about 30 minutes per customer. The desk agents stare at a computer, make a few clicks and nothing seems to happen. I don’t blame the employees, it’s clearly just a terribly run company with bad workflows, rampant inefficiencies and no incentive to improve. Go with a more reputable company like Enterprise. It’s not worth saving $50. I have no clue how they stay in business. At one point four check ins were open. We are down to one check in. Keep in mind the line is huge. Maybe they can take scheduled breaks with a line stretching back a hundred yards or so. In conclusion, this is an evil business and I suspect they are actually a shell company created by Vladimir Putin to sow seeds of discontent in America. Don’t shop budget, or youll begrudge it.

2022-07-07Reserved a car with an infant car seat and a toddler car seat. I have been calling for 4 hours to the same number claiming to be the front desk and I keep getting the national line and not one person has been able to confirm my reservation correctly. NOT ONE PERSON IN HOURS. BTW the number provided by thier email and by google is no longer in service. AWESOME WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. spend the money on ANY other company

2022-08-07Budget is trying to charge us more than double for a one day rental. The reservation price was $64. We returned the car exactly on time with a full tank. Just received the email receipt and they charged us $134. No explanation. Now we have to call and wait on hold forever to get a refund. This is not the first time that Budget/Avis has done this. They wont give you a receipt at drop-off, so you have to wait for the email to see if they charged correctly. They also include a hyperlink to an itemized receipt. That hyperlink doesnt work half the time. This system that they have is so annoying. Where else do you use a service where you almost always have to follow up to process a refund? Just unacceptable and unnecessarily time consuming.

2022-04-26Car was ok, not the cleanest. but no provisions to return prior to business hours. They dont open until after my flight leaves and there is no drop box to leave the keys. Sat on hold for over an hour to have two people tell me no early returns and then transfer me back to the que again to sit on hold. I will not be renting from them again, very very inconvenient!

2022-07-26We have been in line for over an hour when we signed up for fast break service(keys and car are ready to go upon landing). It’s hot bc we are outside, there is no water provided, we have small children out here in 99degree heat, and we have all asked to speak to the manger and Josh has yet to show up. We all called Budget and all they could offer us was 3 days off our NEXT SERVICE! You guys will NOT GET MY MONEY AGAIN!CAR BRAKES STOPPED WORKING! No refund or replacement car! DO NOT GO THROUGH BUDGET OR AVIS
