Burger Bar in other cities:
Yummy, heard a lot about this place. Finally ordered from here and was not disappointed. Fresh made Cheeseburger and Fries just like you would make at home. Prices were spot on also. This isnt your typical fast food burger joint. Might have a wait but definitely worth it.
It was my first time in Cleburne, small town, full of friendly people. I urged my friend to find a place that we could only find in Cleburne, instead of going to Burger King… best decision EVER. We went on Christmas Eve and we got there right before it got busy! The food was so delicious! They cook everything right in front of you and although it’s small there are benches to sit outside which is so nice. Furthermore the ladies running the place were so personable and welcoming ☺️. I was just visiting but I know for sure I will definitely be back whenever I pass through again.
What a quaint and historic little place . The cute little 10x10 building was built in 1902 (a historic land mark)originally a wagon yard , then a model T dealership and then a Taxi service . In 1949 became the be burger bar , they cook on a grill from the late 1800’s … talk about a seasoned grill!!! The French fries are fresh and hand made in front of you!
Best burgers in town! Everything is made fresh. I got a cheeseburger and fries on this visit...hamburger meat was fresh and grilled to perfection. The French fries are always cut and fried per order...always delicious! The only thing I could possibly be upset about is they close at 2pm so I cant eat there everyday but I do every chance I get...highly recommend you do the same...
I went here a couple weeks ago and got a burger as Morris Neals was closed and said what the hey....I will give it a try. I thought they sold fresh patties like Morris Neals. I was wrong. Its a frozen patty and was like cardboard. The employees were nice and nothing against them as they can only do what they can with a frozen patty but I would expect a old fashion place like this to have fresh hamburger meat. It was almost $7 for that frozen burger patty which was thin and was still hungry afterwards. Morris Neals burgers puts these to shame and you get full and they are cheaper. I honestly would rather had a burger from McDonalds although they are frozen at least I know that and dont have high expectations. Only way I would go back is if they get rid of them frozen patties.
If you happen to be going through town you have to stop by and grab yourself a burger from this place. The burgers here are better than anything you will get from any fast food restaurant and are priced fairly. Also, the staff happens to be very friendly, especially Kelly who served me and my buddy during our first visit. We will be returning for more great burgers!
Was highly dissatisfied.. soggy, paper thin burger.. the fries were soggy.. chili was wolfs chili out of a can.. lmao.. should of just gone to Grumps instead or Burger barn.. wife said even McDonalds is better than this and didnt even finish it.. cool nostalgic place though.. if us not returning was the message.. will definitely not return and will advise friends and family to steer clear.. food looked nothing like what people have posted.. so I who knows what happened...
This is a decent burger but it was super greasy. It took forever too. I called the order in 30 mins before arriving. They did let me know the order wouldnt be ready until 40-45 mins. It took 50 mins and they were steady but as far as I could see, it wasnt 50 mins busy unless I just didnt see how busy it was prior to arriving. Everything is cooked to order. Even saw them hand cut the fries. It was kind of high for just burgers and fries. And the grease was overwhelming. My hands were covered in grease when eating the burger. Even the buns were greasy. The building is mind boggling. Its the tiniest restaurant ever. Im pretty sure its smaller than a snow cone shop. And while waiting on the food, someone stopped in and thought it was a snow cone shop. The shop size was probably also to blame why it took so long. We kept seeing one of the workers exiting this incredibly small shop to get buns which were stored in a shed that was bigger than the joint lol. Freshness gets a 5 star. The taste, grease, price, its a 3. It didnt live up to the ratings on here. Not the worst place but wasnt much to brag about other than these workers are impressive to work in such a small space lol.
The service is awesome. The ladies are very nice and polite. You can eat inside ( they have about 4-6 chairs inside and they also have a picnic table where you can enjoy your meal outside. The prices are very reasonable and NOT to high. Most importantly you can call ahead of time so you dont have to wait in line. This place is in the downtown area of Cleburne, Texas
I would rate our meal of a regular burger ($4.50) and fresh fries at 3 1/2 stars. Its the tiniest burger joint youll ever see, definitely worth visiting. Its location is near the Johnson County courthouse about 10 minutes north of U.S. Hwy. 67. Our food was a tad greasy but you wont mind.
Dropped by early on a Monday, so they werent very busy. Got a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and it was pretty much as perfect as a burger can get. The bun held up under the juice, which is always a big test. Bacon was crisp without being overdone, and they gave me a huge pile if grilled onions, which places sometimes skimp on. Fries were passable. Hot, greasy, and tasty. We will be back for sure.
Great little burger joint!!!! Since moving to the area I have tried burgers at several of the local haunts. I gotta say the super friendly staff, the no fuss menu, and GREAT burgers have inspired me to make this my new GO-TO for burgers. The only complaint I have is that while I have lived here for 2 years, I havent been able to try its hours of operation... but also, I WILL make time now :-)
I have been coming here over 40 years , the burgers were smaller years ago but they were much better ---- the last time I was there was served a SLIME BURGER , you know where the bun disentagrates in your hand from the wet vegtables , grease I can handle but a wet soggy bun No .Also the condiments should be put on top the patty not the bun , hambuger making 101.
I placed order for 3 hamburgers, fries and drinks. I had never been here before but everyone kept talking me what an awesome place it was. I LOVE a really good old fashioned hamburger so I listened and went.... MY BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!! WE COULDNT EVEN EAT THE BURGERS OR THE FRIES (gave the meat to the dog) and threw away the fries. All I can say is that it was a wasted $30!!!!! I really dont think 3 bottled sodas are worth that kind of money!!!!!!!
Id be willing to forgive how the store prioritizes certain customers over others but I draw the line on being pushed back on orders when I see employees have their hair dangling into bags of prepared food. There were so many health food violations Im shocked its still open. Because if theres one thing I want my cooked bacon stored in a burger establishment its certainly a plastic bag.
Ive given one star for the friendliness of the ladies, Ive given one star for the taste of the burger. BUT over priced especially to be given that bag full of grease. Wait a half an hour for two cheeseburgers and two small fries. Fries that we couldnt eat, might as well have poured us a bowl of Crisco oil. Just a bag full of greasy slop so bad they were stuck into a ball. Wasted almost $17.00 to throw half of the order in the trash. We wont be back.
So that really small, old looking burger shop on Anglin street you pass from time to time? Fact: They are phenomenal, and you are making a *huge* mistake by passing them by and going to McDonalds. The burgers are incredible and the people are so nice. It’s one thing to have a good old school burger, but getting to meet Katy was another huge highlight. I talked to her while I was there and she’s really cool. Burger Bar actually won a huge competition at the Gameday Burger Battle at the Cowboys game and she showed me a photo of her and Guy Fieri at the competition. And it’s not hard to see why they won! The burgers are done up with fresh veggies, cheese they melt while it’s still on the griddle and a burger that has a real nice hint of crispyness on the outside. Their griddle looks like a really good one too. They also toast their buns. Yep. They’re the real deal.Pro tip: get bacon on your burger. De-licious.The atmosphere, the people and the food make this a must-visit in Cleburne, and I would even say it’s a must visit in Johnson County. You rarely get burgers like this anymore. Stop by, cuz you will not be disappointed with this place!
Ive heard about this place for years and was excited to go. When we walked in the person who took the order was awesome. Very friendly... then the burger. It was ok. Looked and tasted like a frozen pre-made patty. Very thin with no seasonings. I said I wanted mushrooms and grilled onions added. She asked hubby if he wanted all the way(-no) so I assumed mine was all the way plus. Nope. Just onions, meat, bacon and cheese. No mushrooms (tasted and looked like can or jarred) because they ran out after hubbys burger.(que talk between cook and her on whos fault). I didnt unwrap til I got home to see - no pickles, tomatoes, etc on mine. They werent bad, just left a greasy taste and no better than fast food for $16 for 2 bacon burgers and 1 large fry. Meh! Will not be going back.
I really like the food and the prices but the wait time is a little ridiculous. I placed an order over the phone to come pick up on my lunch break and they told me thirty minutes, I show up after 30 and still ended up waiting over thirty more minutes until I had to leave to go back to work without ever getting the food because of the wait. An hour wait shouldn’t happen at any food place
Great little hole-in-the-wall place been open since 1949 only serves hamburgers fries just the basics but pretty good still doing it like they did in 1949. They even have a triple-decker and Fries challenge if you can eat the triple-decker and the fries in less than 10 minutes its free

2022-06-05I only want a hamburger on occasion but when I do, this is the one I want! They crisp the inside of the bun to perfection. They use quality meat. I love their fries. And it is all served by some of the loveliest people you can meet!

2022-05-22One of the best burgers Ive had in a long time. They definitely have a liberal butter use policy on the buns, but they werent overly greasy or soggy. I got the jalapeno burger; the flavor of the patty and fixings was superb.

2022-03-16I hadnt been here in 20 years but it was still as delicious as I remember. We had to wait forever because its just 2 ladies in there cooking up the good stuff for everyone. They have the fries like wingstop and the burgers are huge. Would definitely recommend.
