Este restaurant definitely this restaurant should close it order 2 dishes and it took 25 minutes and after being there they asked me what my order was they had not even sent it to the kitchen my horrible order the bathrooms are disgusting and the attention is super bad the cooks are lost do not even know what to prepare sirve para nada la comida es super mala y el servicio to go es malisimo
In the past year of 2021 They have changed their Fish supplier, I believe because the quality Of the fish has gone down. It just does not taste right anymore. I thought maybe it was a one time thing but I have it back three times and each time The fish just does not taste good anymore.

Not sure what has happened recently, but this Captain Ds has turned it on! The last 2 times I have been here the service was fast, friendly, and fresh. Way to GO!

Food is always hot and fresh. Far distance to drive from Missouri City but I was taking a drive to Alvin. Drive thru cashier was very pleasant and mannerable
We dont have any locations in Houston anymore so I drove 40 minutes to the location in Alvin, TX. The fish and fries werent fresh (heavy with grease, not crispy, and lukewarm at best). I took it back in and nicely asked the cashier if I could get fresh food. The cook immediately hollered, Shes a lie. I just cooked it 20 minutes ago so I know its fresh. Drop it back in the grease if she wants it hot! HUH?!?!?!?! It was already logged with grease and she wanted to put it BACK in there? Not to mention I had already touched it! All I could say was no. Im not going to argue so thats okay. At this point the manager, a small, balding middle eastern fell, runs from the back and says, If she wants her money back just give her the damn money and she can get the hell out of my store! What????? I didnt even act an ass. Why all the commotion cause I asked for fresh food? Clearly they have management, food prep, and sanitary concerns that should be promptly addressed.
The food was tasteless. I think restaurant like this need to ask their customers if they are in a strict diet or not. Ask me if I wanted more seasoning on my food more flavor it verily had any salt, condiments, or herbs. I was very disappointed of this food, I was very hungry and those pictures at the drive thru was looking real good and tasty so I figured it make sense to try something out. I was seriously expecting more for the money I paid. The green beans was the only thing that had some kind of flavor or taste. I had order the Fish with shrimp, rice and green beans.
After previous bad experiences, decided to give the locals another try today (want the locals to stay afloat).. glad we did! Friendly service, clean restaurant, and fresh/hot, crispy food, with excellent portions. Although the place could really use some upgrades ( bent tables & torn plastic chair seats), it didnt take away the quality of the food or staff..

Great place to eat. Food was amazing and fresh the hush puppies were so much better. ( cook was amanda) Cashier was very nice kept the tables and floors cleaned and checked on not only us but everyone to make sure we had sauces and refills her name is Kayla. Will definitely come back!

Great lunch and reasonable. Had the two (2) fish six (6) shrimp for $8.99 which included cole slaw, hush puppies and fries. Subbed the okra for fries and it was perfect. (Only thing should tell the customer there’s a sub in charge but 45 cents was worth it). Both the counter lady and kitchen cook were friendly & super accommodating. The food was hot, fresh and the fish in particular was excellent. Need a Captain D’s in Angleton. It would be a hit!!!
Food was good. Service was good. Restaurant is just dated. Some of the pictures on wall look like theyve been there since they place opened 20+ years ago. A little facelift and it would be great. The bin that stores the individual tartar sauces looked like it had mold on it.
My kids love it here. Yes, the battered fish is not the most healthy meal, but when we feel like indulging ourselves, we dont hesitate to make the 40 minute round trip to pick up our favorite fish and hushpuppies. They also have the best tarter sauce.
Got the feast special the fish was delicious but the service was a little disappointing We asked for unsweetened tea and got sweetened returned it before driving off Got the order home the vinegar was not in the bag and the amount of green beans did not match advertised suppose to serve 4 to 6 maybe 3 really. But otherwise was pleased with the food. Will go again.***

Drive thru person is sooooo rude then after ordering 20 dollars worth of fish they ring you up and wait till after to tell you they charge for sauce. Got my money back they can be money hungry and rude to someone else.

The Salmon was great! Broccoli was fresh and the coleslaw was on point. Even Leila gave me great service and the cook was very nice.. Will definitely come back and hopefully they are there to serve me again.. Make sure Leila gets some gator from Pappadeauxs lol

Got 2 piece fish & chicken. Fish was small and tasted old. Chicken tasted old too. Coleslaw needed flavor, not made well. Also it should have been put in separate container because it was warm being put in the same box with fish and chicken. I wont be back. I hadnt eaten there in years and figured it was good like it had always been . I was wrong.

Man its been a long time since Ive seen a Captain Ds. The food was hot & tasty. The cashier was friendly. My order was correct and of course the prices were great. Definitely will be back when Im in the area again.

You truly get a restaurant experience in a fast food place. Best drive thru stop I’ve ever made. Each time the associates were super friendly, explained the menu choices, and were just plain awesome!! If I could afford to eat here every day I wouldn’t hesitate. This is for the ALVIN location...LOVE IT HERE!
Nasty no clean bathrooms terrible food
Terrible! Absolutely terrible. First off waited 20 minutes for my food. Secondly nothing was hot. Piss warm at best. My daughters chicken tenders were like rubber. I certainly dont recommend you go there. Did i mention, that this experience was my first and most definitely my last time there.
Used to come here after church with the family many years ago. Stopped by there recently and it looks a little dated but the fish was good and the staff was super friendly. Batter dipped fish is on fleek! Ill be back again soon.

I should have paid attention to all the red flags. The parking lot was empty, the restaurant was empty, there were over two hours until closing yet they were already sweeping out the place because there were no customers. This should have let me know that this place was to be avoided. But nooooo... I had not eaten in a Captain Ds Seafood in so many years that I thought it would probably be okay; I was wrong. Although I was the only customer in the place, I had to wait an interminable amount of time on my food. The price was exorbitant for the amount of food and although the fish was piping hot, the taste was just nasty. Many, if not most, of the Captain Ds Seafood chains have closed their doors; this one should follow suit.
Service is slow but the grilled fish was good. Hush puppies were a little greasy. Very small place.

Spent 13.00 dollars everything was fine until I got to the fish and coleslaw. I ordered the sampler platter. Call the location to let them know the manager tell the clerk I should go to the doctor and I found I why I was sick. He ess very rude. This was my first and will be my last time doing business with Captain D.
Food is ok I guess but I wont go back to this one. Twice we have been given coleslaw that had tasted like sour milk. When I let them know owner says (see Im eating it. Its okay, Im eating it. )I then told him it wasnt and I would like to have a different side. It was going to cost... I explained that I wouldnt pay for the food I had already paid for. Not bad people just dont feel like it was the right thing to do. Especially when it was the second time.As of May I and my family have decided not to go back to This Captain Ds. We dont have issues with any other restirants.
Weve been going to this Captain Ds for years. They have outdone themselves recently both in customer service and their tasty new menu. Its nice to be able to choose from healthier grilled and baked dishes if we want a change. Tonight we tried their white fish. It was cooked to perfection and the sides were perfect as well.
After my first review I was asked to go to a capt. Ds website to explain in further detail about my bad experience. After the webpage second review and a talk with corporate I was truly disappointed as nothing was done about the bad dining experience or the service. I will never eat at capt. Ds again in Alvin Tx. Its Pathetic that a restaurant chain I used to love for many years just doesnt care about quality service anymore.
This place was decent but do not get the okra it is not like mama used to make.
Needs new employees. Food was extremely overcooked, staff was very zombie like and would not smile or anything, just moping around doing tasks, ignoring customers. Location was not clean, I had to clean table just to be able to eat with my daughter after a 4 hour trip to Houston.
Overpriced for a fast food restaurant. They once had unreasonable specials, but no more. 4 small piece fish dinner (cod) with 2 sides is $8.99. Manuel Seafood has 3 large delicious fried catfish with 2 sides for $6.99 that is much better tasting. No more overpriced Captain Ds for me.

We used to like Captain Ds but lately they havent been getting orders correct. And when you ask for a Manager, he says its our communication problem with the person that is taking our order. Grilled and fried are different and do not sound alike. Very unprofessional and unapologetic for their mistake.

I got the fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw. the coleslaw and the fries were great, and i was excited tot ry the shrimp but it was mostly batter! i took the batter off bc i didnt like it very much and the shrimps werent even whole shrimps! they were like cut it half short ways and the cut like butterfly shrimp, probably to make it look like it wasnt half a shrimp. the girl we got from was very nice though

In a category of its own! There menue has lobster rolls, salmon, blackened talapia, lobster bites, mozzarella sticks, hush puppies, popcorn shrimp, chicken tenders, and much more. Food is served fresh cooked and there is not a long wait. I recommend making this trip to eat weekly.
Spectacular service excellent food
This was a horrible experience here at Captain Ds Alvin location. We ordered $30 worth of food my 2pcs of catfish each pc was as small one of myfingers. When asked for a manager he came out upset and said yes thats 2 pcs. Little middle eastern angry man there must be LOTS of complaints he was ready unapologetic did care not care to try an resolve the issue. Corn was old and cold battered shrimp only batter. My first and only experience will not be back to any Captain Ds. Wish I could upload my pic because I did take one Ill take it to my blog and fb. Taking ppls money not providing good service. Evidently nothing changes around here because after reading other reviews this has BEEN an on going issue that their aware of. Save your money and time...Nasty food Dont Stop.

Thiss worst place to eat in Alvin. I ordered fish fillets , some clam strips, & 4 to go meals just as after party food . I chipped a tooth on clams! The fish was crisp on outside & undercooked dough inside. IT WAS ALL GIVEN TO MY DOGS! WONT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

The shrimp was fine that catfish was either freezer burnt or something, it was nasty! Owner/ mg was notified but no compensation or even an apology. Doubt well ever go there again. We warned the ppl going in, they opted for somewhere else. Word of mouth makes a difference!
Food was good. Bathrooms needed attention. Building is a bit worn down. Noticed doors and windows had not been cleaned in awhile, which is the first impression.

The fish have gotten a lot smaller and the price has increased. 3 piece fish dinner cat almost $12.00 and the fish are really small. Ugh.

Indian owner, couldnt grasp what I wanted to eat, 3 piece fish and fries, two times and 2 piece chicken meal 2 times. I left after he still couldnt get the order right.
Im pretty sure he was the owner/manager but whomever, he was so nice and polite at the drive thru. Food was hot and delicious 😋.

They tried the be as they could but my food was not good and it tasted old. The vegetables were cold and poorly prepared. It was very disappointing because I use to frequent this location often when I lived in Dallas.

Been a long time since Ive been back to Alvin. Had lunch and yes Im from Alvin as a kid! Every time I pass threw I have a nice catfish dinner and a sweet tea and happy! A group on facebook talk of Alvin I see OMG they messed my order up, OK we all make mistakes and fix them,! Talk of Alvin needs to go back to my child hood in Alvin, small town now they have Olive Garden etc now OMG bash a company on social media like they are smart enough to make dried soup in the microwave!

Just went there asked to get a 12 peice and get extra mac said they cant sell that told will pay for 2 sides lady kept saying they dont do that, then asked if all and said pull up before we could even finish, said cancel our order. 2022-07-21The fish here was better in the 90s... They switched to a different fish, probably to cut costs. Its still good though.. and the staff was fast and friendly. I love their hushpuppies too. thanks guys

2022-04-30My son wanted to go. So we went and we dont even live in Alvin. The fish is just not as I remember just seems like cheap fish. This is the second time we been here. The first time my boyfriend whos from Austin had plastic in his macaroni come on ppl do better..And no we wont be going back we.had better food and service at long Johns in Pasadena.

2022-07-15I had a very pleasant experience at this establishment, my first time here. There are very few Captain Ds locations in the Houston and surrounding areas. I will be returning since this one is the closest to Webster, service and food were to my satisfaction. Just like I remembered!

2022-07-16Got the 2 piece fish and 6 shrimp. What a joke. This fish was cut in half, looked like a fish stick. So the 2 pieces of fish is a single side. The shrimp was just as much as a joke as the fish.Tiny shrimp would take 3 to make 1. Not returning ever. Suprise they are still open.

2022-06-23Last Saturday my mother visited this place drive through, an older male with the appearance of a Hindu -Pakistani individual was attending it. My apologies for utilizing an ethic group to identified a single individual, but he did not wanted to provide his name, nor his was wearing a name batch.My mother is 70 years old wanted to get clarification on one of the plates served before placing the order. The guy from the get go was abrasive, a natural abrupt person, We ignored his manners but, after he close the drive through window while my mother was still talking, left us unattended for a good 60 secs we didnt know if we should leave or wait until his perfusive display of anger came down, but my mother decided to wait he opens the drive t window again and said I HAVE OTHER COSTUMERS YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE we were being respectful my mother only needed a small clarification. I did tell him: Sir your rudeness is unnecessary his response if you dont like it FU and leave We did. Who is this individual who feels so free, and comfortable to treat costumers this way, i ask. Anger it is highest level in a person. He has the right to be anger for what ever reasons, but take it out on costumers that just want to buy food is unacceptable and wrong. Perhaps he is the manager and this is the style to managed this location. We have visit this place before perhaps employees have being over work and under paid but never treated a costumer with such of unavailable manners. I believed he thinks he still leaving in another continent in the world. FYI: You are in Alvin TX that is USA SOIL someone please informed this poor soul so he is aware of his deficit in respecting not only costumers, but women.

2022-04-17The man or owner that runs the place is mean and yells a lot. Loves to argue. The fish we ordered didnt taste or looked like fish, it looked more like the cheapest fish money could buy.

2021-12-13Ive been to many Captain Ds and almost every one was greasy. The food here was hot and fresh without grease pooling on the plate. May sound trivial but I had the most perfect fried okra Ive ever eaten! The fish, shrimp and chicken tenders were perfectly cooked. The owner was cleaning every minute he wasnt taking orders or serving food. When I complimented the cook for a job well done, she gave credit to the owner for teaching her how. Great teamwork! Money well spent.

2022-05-25Soggy okra and RAW FISH! I told them and they didnt wanna refund me me my order they just wanted to make me more fish. Why the hell woud someone want more fish if it was RAW before them but the lady told me it was made fresh! Guess thats what they call fresh. Defiantly not going again. Food posining is a thing. My mom could die feom it i even told them if i or my mom gets sick i And sueing!

2022-02-01I went to order off the kids meal but since Im an adult I was denied. My parents wanted to share a meal and they refused to give them an extra plate. We offered to pay extra for the plate and was denied again. Then an employee came to our table to show us the stores supply order and wouldnt leave the table until I asked him to please let my parents enjoy their food. We will never ever come back.
