I ordered some magazines from this company via gunbroker.com and the magazines arrived long before my other order of magazines from a larger parts distributer.
I have purchased several guns from this company and they have always been kind and informative when I’ve made a purchase. I have made purchases online and in-store and both are easy. Not sure how some of the other reviewers can have issues with GB. The site holds your hand the entire way and this company has their FFL uploaded already. I prefer this shop to any other.
This shop is truly the definition of what good ol fashioned customer service used to be like!! They still have it!! They went above and beyond to make several special request happen for me 1000s of miles away!!! An amazing example of an A++ business every other business should try and emulate!! I greatly appreciate all your efforts!!

As a first time gun buyer/owner Patrick & Courtney were very patient with me. Courtney was super nice, she answered all of the many questions I had and enlightened me on some information that I did not know. She troubleshooted with me and that resulted in me not being disappointed and saving me some money. She called me back & followed up just like she said she would, she is very knowledgeable aswell as personable. I’m SUPER psyched about my purchase, couldn’t be happier and I’d definitely recommend them to others!
This is easily the best Gun shop I have ever been to. I have been going here since I was 18 and have purchased multiple firearms during that time with nothing but excellent service. They always have a a good stock of many high-quality firearms. The team combined has experience to answer most questions anyone could have from beginners to those that are looking for questions about SBRs or suppressors. Wade and rest are always my go to when someone asks me for a place to get a firearm. I have been to every gun shop in Abilene and none can live up to CCC.
Just discovered Caroline Colt a few weeks ago, I had been looking for the perfect conceal carry pistol and was torn between a Sig P365x and a S&W 9 Shield Plus, they had both in stock so I was able to make a very informed decision, ended up with the 9 Shield Plus and couldnt be happier! They have a large selection of handguns, competitive prices, great customer service and overall the entire experience was top notch...no question Ill be a return customer. Thanks again!!

Terrible customer service, worst and most time consuming transfer process in town. - You are correct, Ive done business with you for over 10 years, yet Your employees still will not acknowledge me when I walk into the store, I stand in front of the counter for a minute just looking at one of them until I initiate a conversation. Twice they have dropped my gun when taking it out of the box, dropped it on the floor. As you know, most my purchases are antiques. This is not meant to be hateful, just honest frustration.

Most poor reviews you read about this company concern folks trying to play the system (e.g., late payment, sending merchandise to states where it’s illegal, etc.).If you respect their payment policies and abide by the rules/regulations of your state, you should (also) have an excellent experience.
I recieved a check today, 7/21, you pressured me about payment, went on gun broker and labeled me a non paying client. The check you sent appears to be short $100.00. You, took payment on a gun that you sold to someone else. This is a very shady practice as it seems as though you have done this before and too many others. I was in constant contact via email with this company, I explained my circumstances and was able to borrow money to fulfill my obligation. You proceeded to talk as though you are a victim in the guise of a honest business. Please return my full refund as requested, many many, many times. A true honest business, would have called with options for a customer, rather than sorry we went to ship your gun and it has been sold. Despicable and repugnant business practices to say the least.
I have never used Gunbroker before, and I was a bit reluctant to do so. CCC made my first go as easy as can be. Friendly staff, quick responses, VERY fair pricing, and best of all... no hassles.10/10 would recommend.

Not sure how this place could receive less than a 4 star. They usually have ammo not a huge selection, but better than none. Everyone seems super knowledgeable and helpful. Paid for a Glock .45 GAP from online sales, was told the gun was reposted and sold to another customer. Refuses to deliver gun as advertised. Reported to the BBB and regulating agencies.*************************************This situation was created by the lack of responsibility by Caroline Colt Company, LLC.The money order for the purchase of the firearm was purchased and mailed immediately following the end of the auction.Seven days later, upon receiving the returned money order in the mutilated original envelope in the mail, I called the seller and ask to speak to the owner, I was told his name was Patrick, and he was at lunch. I was directed to Courtney, reportedly responsible for internet sales. I advised her of the situation and it was suggested I resend the payment. I purchased another money order and mailed it immediately.Four days later, I called The Shootin Shop and was advised my payment was received and the firearm would be shipped upon processing the payment.A couple of days later, I received notification from GunBroker my account was reported by The Shootin Shop and suspended for lack of payment.I find it fishy that The Shootin Shop continues to skirt their responsibility using a lack of communication in their organization, claim non payment when they have to admit cashing my money order, claim they sent a check without documentation, and then resale the gun.Deliver a Glock .45 GAP as advertised!
Good guys to do business with. Knowledgeable. Professional. Courteous. Good supply of handguns and long guns. If they don’t have what you want, they’ll find it for you. Good price on trade-ins. Good supply of ammo (a little short now during the panic buying, but then everybody is). Plenty of accessories.

Great people. They helped me pick out a nice 1911, and then were very accommodating when I wanted to upgrade and mod the firearm. Their prices are decent as well. Highly recommended for gun enthusiasts in the Abilene area.

Called them asked if they had specific weapon in stock. They said yes. Then asked if they give military discount. They said yes. Went in person to the store purchased my weapon and then asked for military discount gentleman said not right now giving military discount. I was a first time customer. Y’all need better communication and never stop giving military discount. But the gentleman gave me $50 off. I’m a veteran today and I will be a veteran tmrw.
This is a wonderful place with great service and (usually) a large selection. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about their products, willing to answer any question you have, and give helpful advice. During the past few months, they havent always had what I needed in stock, but they were very helpful, pleasant, and hopeful despite various shortages. Im so glad that theyre here to serve our community!
Carolina Colt Company (CCC) is my FFL for guns that I buy on the internet. They always send out a letter to seller fast. They are great at letting me know when it has arrived. If you have an emergency and cant get there right away, they will hold it for you! Everyone is very knowledgeable about weapons. I have gone in asking for magazines, holsters or other excessories & they know right where to get it off the shelf or where to look up the order. I will only use CCC for my weapon needs.
UPDATE:The gun you are referencing as illegal would be modified at my FFL according to my state law. Shouldn’t you know this as a gun seller? Clearly this accusation is an attempt to deflect the issue. The truth was I contacted you to cancel the purchase as payment had not been made and the transaction had not been initiated. I stated I was purchasing this as a gift for someone and they told me after that they wanted the wood furniture, not the polymer. You did not have this option in stock and you as a seller failed to accommodate me as a previous customer. Get your facts straight before making up bogus stories and threatening and name calling me. Please tell me how calling a prior customer a “dead beat” is professional business practice? The fact that you are making assumptions and accusations speaks volumes and is a huge red flag for any future customers. Looking at the other negative reviews, I was shocked how rude you are on your replies and noticed communication was lacking from your side. As the owner of this company, you need anger management therapy and customer service 101 training as you lack this. As a business owner, one negative feedback should be too many.Original feedback:If I could leave them 0 star feedback I would. Surprisingly, I’ve purchased from them before. I guess it’s a hit or miss. They’re very unprofessional calling me names like dead beat. BUYER BEWARE. They have 50+ negative reviews in less than a year on gunbroker. Excellent prices on firearms. Ammo prices are generally high, but occasionally they have clearance ammo for a good deal. Staff are friendly and helpful.Update 2018: I’ve been a consistent Shootin Shop/Caroline Colt customer for 5yrs now. I’ve visited every gunshop in Taylor County, some of them many times, and no one delivers more competitive prices, more outstanding customer service, or a better level of overall quality.

Missed the auction on GunBroker which had no bids when it closed. Emailed Caroline Colt Company the next day asking if I could purchase the rifle for the opening bid. Upon agreement of terms and exchange of necessary information and payment, the purchase was complete. Great communication and quick shipment to my local FFL. Have always had a good experience with this shop. Great selection, fair prices - no complaints. Knowledgeable staff that can give the right guidance when I need it. I think u could save some money at the pawn shop for some things. But if I want a new item and has to be done right and right now, I dont take chances and go straight to these guys, never regretted it. EDIT: - really friendly staff too. Thats important.
Small business with BIG attitudes and little knowledge. I would stay away from this place. Bought a firearm from them last year and the guy who helped me had a serious attitude problem. Had a great crew cut and muscle shirt, but lacked common sense. Visited the store last week looking for a product and these kids think they know it all. Almost seems like they try and belittle the consumer with their XBox Call of Duty knowledge. I called their bluff and they started craw fishing of course. I definitely dont know everything about every gun but have been around them and used them regulary for 40 years across the globe. If I come into your store, that means Im looking for help or a product, not to be fed some BS from some kid who has an AR and thinks he just got out of BUDS training. Prices in a place like this will always be a little more because of the personal touch of service that comes with the purchase, if these idiots realize this, it would help them tremendously. Other than that, they will flat out lie to you to sale a product and are not helpful at all. Other gun shops/ranges in Abilene are years beyond this shop and want to help you. I would recommend you try one of these other shops first.
Purchased a Savage Model 10 fcp-sr from here and some scope mounts everyone was very helpful when I came in and answered all my questions. That weekend I went out to the range mounted my new scope, the mounts I purchased cracked at the base, gave them a call and they where more than happy to replace them with a new set. Great place Great Service.

Would not recommend doing business with this group of people. Bought a new gun from them at a gun show. Being a gun show, no magazines were in the guns to prevent theft. Purchased the gun and returned home to get familiar with it. First aspect to strike was the magazines were restricted to 10 rounds on a full size 9mm. An annoyance, but one I could get over. Field stripping the firearm, I discovered it was pitted with rust. Had this been a used gun, that might be acceptable, but it was sold as a new gun. Returned to the gun show the following day and the owner listened to my complaints, then offered to give me the contact info of the manufacturer, not even an apology. Additionally, seeing the gross price gouging on AR platform rifles during 2013 and now hearing repeatedly from their customers and employees at Academy that The Shootin Shop purchases the ammo from Academy and then marks it up again convinces me these individuals care no more for a person than what is in their wallet. I will take my business to B&B Pawn or Abilene Indoor Gun Range.

Called and asked about them mounting a new scope for me. They said to bring it in, but then were too busy. Went to Abilene indoor gun range and I’m glad I did.

2022-09-14I have been a customer of Caroline Colt / Shootin Shop going on three years & I find them to have awesome customer service. They have firearms that can be hard to find with other dealers, & they offer an extremely reasonable layaway plan. Caroline Colt has shipped my purchases very fast every time whether firearms, ammo, or accessories. They provide tracking numbers so you know where your package is and when it will arrive. Their customer service ranks with the best as they genuinely take pride in assisting you to get what you want, & answer any questions you have in a very timely manner. Theyve always been polite, and professional, and provided superior communication with me either by phone or email. Caroline Colt in Abilene, TX & KY Gun Company in Bardstown, KY are my two go-to dealers. I only shop where I have solid relationships & trust the people Im dealing with. 2022-09-09I work for an FFL dealer and we recently had a firearm sent for a transfer and there was an issue with it. I reached out to the company and delt with Branson and he handled the issue without hesitation and I was really satisfied with the customer service he provided and definitely recommend this place due to the customer service I experienced. Issue was resolved within 24hrs.

2022-06-14I bought something from this business on gunbroker. The item, in my eyes, had a defect so I went through the refund and return process within their return policy and even paid a 10% restocking fee. They then decided to block me on gunbroker? Extremely rude and disrespectful. If you even ask them any questions they come back at you with an attitude too. I wasn’t even going to leave this review but when I saw they blocked me from their items, I changed my mind.***RESPONSE TO THEIR COMMENT BELOW:Wow!!! I can also post all of my emails that I sent to you if you wish🤣. I never spoke to anyone at your store with any disrespect. Your claims are absolutely false and misleading. I also NEVER called you guys back to get unblocked at all? You must be speaking about a different person. I literally just found out this morning. It’s honestly hilarious how quick this business replies to a bad review in a defensive, demeaning, and manipulative way. I’m actually glad I never have to give one single cent to this place ever again.

People being swindled out of their money, posting a negative review about the horrible experience, CCC, LLC then replies blaming the customer. Every single negative review is the customers fault.. CCC never takes responsibility and replies with lies and by berating the customer. Cant wait to see my reply!Btw...I have millions of views to my Google reviews and photos so I dotake this very seriously and rarely post aNegative review unless absolutely justified. 2021-10-29The Carolina Colt Company is an outstanding firearm, ammunition, and accessories business. I have been a customer for about a year now, and have no complaints whatsoever. They have a very clean, well-stocked, and enjoyable store. Their staff is always friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Wade has always gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and answered any questions that I had. He is a great asset to the team.
