This place was beautiful. I loved the large room with big magnificent windows, which allow the nature light to come through. The wedding was held outdoors and reception was inside. The charming landscape and trees give quite the elegant look for a delightful wedding outdoors.

Our daughter had her wedding there this past Sunday. Such an amazing venue absolutely beautiful. The ladies were super helpful, despite a hiccup we were able to recover and have an amazing time! I cant thank Lauren enough for going above and beyond for us.

We held our granddaughters wedding at Cathedral Oaks on December 22, 2019. This venue is an amazing place to hold a wedding - the outdoor wedding ceremony area is surrounded by gorgeous natural beauty, the covered patio is a lovely area for guests to gather for refreshments during the family photos time, and the large main room set a beautiful stage for our dinner and reception. The lighted Christmas trees and floral decorations added so much to our own wedding decorations. The gorgeous entry foyer and front walk looked so beautiful with our Luminaria lights and sparkler send off.The friendly customer service staff helped us with the many details we were planning from various long distance locations. When our granddaughter was finally able to visit the site, their suggestions made it so easy to finalize the timing and room set up. Our entire experience at Cathedral Oaks was nothing less than perfect.

So my husband and I had our wedding in 2018 here. We booked it about six months before our wedding date because we had been looking for a while and couldnt find what we needed. We fell in love with the beautiful landscaping and trees and the building was very nice. They tried to sell us at first on the magnolia house, which is a old building that smells like its age and was very small. We told them we didnt really care for it because it didnt fit our needs. They still tried pushing it on us, giving the feeling like we couldnt afford the other one. However, we informed them we were willing to pay for the bigger cathedral building and it had the space we needed. So we booked and payed for the space. After about two weeks, we realized that half of the people we thought were coming could not make it, my husbands family coming from Connecticut, so we decided to cancel it because it would be a little large for my family who would come. We were then told if you dont cancel before 6 months that you do not get your money back. This was new to us, because we werent told that, and being we booked it under six months that left us stuck. But we had no choice so we stayed. The day before the wedding, we realized we needed a little time to prepare because it would be hard to do the day of, so we contacted them to see if we could come the night before to see if we could set a few things up since no one had any event there that night or at the other venue. That was another $200 for two hours. The day of the wedding, everything seems to be going ok, Im fixing to walk down the aisle, as the doors had just opened, and the power goes out. Obviously Im embarrassed because it goes completely dark and Im standing in the doorway, everyone staring at me and Im, along with everyone else, am dumbfounded. We close the doors and ask what happened and were told that somebody crashed into a telephone/electrical pole in Belton, that caused a fire and caused the power to go out. They have no generators, which makes no sense seeing as how much youre paying them for just one day ($5000), and then we ask what is going to happen now. They say we can move the wedding outside, which its 100 degrees out seeing as its towards the middle of August and its 4 in the afternoon so thats not helping the situation at all. Then we ask what kind of compensation will happen because its almost two hours of no power and we were told since it was an act of God theres nothing they can or will do. How someone having an accident that started a fire is an act of God Ill never know. We asked could we at least get the $200 back from the previous night since that was about the time of power we didnt have and they firmly said no. Eventually the power comes on and we continue but our guests our sweating and food and drinks are melted or turned cold due to no power. Lastly, my husband talks to the officer who is supposed to be the security guard because hes interested in being an officer, the cop tells him that theyre only receiving about $50 to come and attend the wedding, yet we spent about $200 for the security. My family felt very uncomfortable with the owner, who seemed unwilling to make any kind of amends or apologize for what happened and, to be honest, I dont know if it is because we were black because I dont see many black couples or interracial couples getting married here, but when things happened that I felt should have been addressed she refused to and it has taken me a while to write this review but I felt it needed to be said. Hopefully they have made changes now.
