Cracked the rim and came in for a repair. Everyone was super kind and helpful. From the gentleman outside who helped me find the door to the lady inside who let my daughter play with her desk toys to the gentleman who took the time to show me where the coolant is located under the hood. My Little was even gifted a pink monkey who she is currently sharing some fruit with. Fabulous experience with customer service and the repair shop.Sidenote: the dealership is within walking distance to a park, several places to eat, and a few stores so if you dont fancy waiting inside then step outside to explore. Beautiful area!
Im so disappointed and profoundly angry that I had the worst experience with them. The first two times I went, it was great but then this third time, it was just absolutely awful! I made an appointment to have my car looked at for a few things. This was on a Monday at 11 am. They told me that they wouldnt be able to see my car until tomorrow (Tuesday) so I go home. I wait all morning until mid-afternoon and called them asking whats up with my car. They said they still have not seen it--that they will on Wednesday. I asked them what was the point of making an appointment if they have not seen my car in two days. Their response was Were short on staff. So on Wednesday, I wait and wait, nothing. Thursday, I wait again then call in mid-afternoon after calling again and again to catch a live person. They said they STILL HAVE NOT SEEN my car! On Friday, they will, they said. I heard nothing from them until mid-afternoon again and played phone tag once again. Then someone said oh we will call you back in 5 minutes. Nothing. 45 minutes later, I call again, oh. yes yes in 5 minutes we will send you an email. Nothing for a while then finally I get an email that gave me an absurd estimate of the repairs. I decided on Saturday to pick up my car and take it elsewhere. Their manager contacted me saying he was sorry for the bad experience and that he would find out and get back to me. He NEVER did. I also emailed one of their staff asking some questions about coverage, no response from her, either. They didnt have a loaner for me so it was a very stressful and difficult week trying to get to/fro work and other places. They were not even friendly with me. Sorry this is so long but I felt this was important to share and for others to be aware. I will not be going back to that place anytime soon and definitely would not recommend anyone go there or even buy a car from them.
I have been a customer of Charles Maunde for over 30 years. Shopped no where else.my last threes visit have extremely dissapointing, lying salesman, all around poor customer service. What they tell you on the phone will be different in person. I am finished with Charles Maunde after a whole family shopping and buying cars never again
Hands down the worst dealership experience i ever had. Stay away from this people. There was a hiccup every step of the way.- I am a resident of state of Kansas that wanted to purchase the car for the asking price, without any negotiations from this guys and title it into a business name. Just so we clear, i worked at Volkswagen Franchise for multiple years and know how things work from the inside. I ve bought cars out of state as individual prior to this, and i ve sold cars out of state as a VW/Audi Dealership employee - process is not new to me. (including selling from outside of Kansas to Kansas.- Sales person sent me a link to a personal credit application on their website. When i told him that this is not a business credit app, he said that he is not sure, and emailed me a personal credit application again, but in pdf at this time. He claimed that they have two finance guys, and one of them does not know much so we have to wait for the other one to be back.- They were not able to approve the business loan, so I agreed to title it into my name, at which point they told me everything is approved that lead a sales person to call me with great news when he asked me when am I going to come over and pick up the car multiple times. With that in mind, i purchased an airplane ticket. Sales person told me they have to confirm the amount of sales tax they must collect from me on behalf of State of Kansas.- two days later also two days prior to my flight, they say they cannot sell the car out of state because state of Kansas would want the car to be inspected prior to registration. After i spent over an HOUR on hold with Kansas DMV i confirmed that State of Kansas requires an inspection after the fact of purchase but prior to the registration. Obviously, inspection has to be done in person, however for some reason dealership wanted to be a part of this. Kansas DMV confirmed that this is not correct, gave me a point of contact to pass on to the dealer to confirm it.- Three phone calls into this, they finally all gather in the office, put me on the speaker phone and tell me that its not the state that makes them do that, but the lander they had the approval thru.- Next step, Sales person telling me that finance guy, I assume the smart one, said that since its so hard to register the car in Kansas, why wouldnt I find someone who lives in Texas who will allow me to register the car at their address. A little shady, but ok, thanks for help Mr. Finance guy.- I offered them to register the car in Missouri, at my parents place since there is an issue with Kansas to which they responded half a day later, that they would just prefer me to pay cash so they dont have to worry about it.- Here I am, 24 hours before my flight, trying to scramble something together, call Capital One who approved me on the first place, and they have no requirement for the dealer to register my car or participate in the registration of that car for that matter. They give me a contact person and a reference number for the dealership to confirm this information and as soon as I pass that information on to the dealer, they all call me back on the speakerphone and explaining me how instead of calling CapOne to confirm my words, they are insisting on a cash deal to keep them out of the financing.- On the last conversation with this great group of guys - I told them that I am no longer interested in the car. Very upsetting. Too late to cancel my flight, so $200 thrown into Trash. Credit for this special experience goes to Kenneth Alumbaugh, Adrian DeHoyos and others. Some other fun facts along they way include but are not limited toSales person telling me that i can speak to the smarter finance guy Tomorrow at 9AM, but receptions saying that he is not going to show up until 11 or 1140;Salesperson asking me whether the manager called to SMOOTH THINGS OVER OR NOT; Which translates to MY MANAGER CALLED TO SAY THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE HELFULL AT ALL.
Our GTI developed a check engine light, p2185, and figured no big deal. Car still has a powertrain warranty and looks like a quick sensor fix. When my wife dropped off the car she was informed that this was allegedly caused by rodents chewing through a wire and that this will cost over $500 to fix. We asked them to provide proof that this was caused by rodents. In response they took pictures of the engine bay showing a bit of fur on the battery and some random droppings, but they did not take a picture of the actual damage. They did provide a video, but it is so blurry that it is completely useless. Even if the rodent damage story is actually true, how does a broken wire cost $500 to fix? Its just absurd, but their diagnostic fee is outrageous and theyve already wasted so much of our time that we went ahead with the repair.Service manager Corby Houser has had ample opportunity to contact us, but has ignored us so far. Definitely will never be back here and doubtful well ever buy a VW again. (the mk5 GTI we had previously was an unreliable mess, add the terrible service of the local dealership and theres no point giving more money to this awful company)
Best experience buying a vehicle I have ever had. We did a lot of research before buying because we have not had a car payment in 3 years and wanted the best deal for the best car we could find. We went to 4 dealerships on Saturday and ended up buying from Charles Maund because of price and the way we were treated. Our salesman was Ryan Wong and he did an amazing job. He told us the best price upfront and it was considerably better than the other dealerships we had visited. The process was quick and we didnt feel taken advantage of in any way. If you are looking for a car I would highly recommend stopping by Charles Maund.
I need to give major kudos to the entire Charles Maund service team, but especially to their service advisor, Brandon. I was driving on Hwy. 290 this morning when a truck hitch rolled into my lane. I wasnt able to switch lanes because of traffic and it shredded both of my driver side tires and left holes in each of the rims. After getting an impromptu tow to Charles Maund VW, all of the service advisors made sure I was okay before even asking about the car. While waiting at a friends place, Brandon FaceTimed me to walk through the damage to the car, price points, and ways to file an insurance claim. He even gave me a company loaner vehicle to drive until my car finishes repairs on Tuesday.Ive been going to Charles Maund VW since I bought my car from them in May 2019, and today reminded me why. Theyre top tier technicians and helped make an extremely stressful day as seamless as possible.
Fantastic service and dealership. I had a bad experience at a different dealership and had a hard time finding my maintenance package number to get service. Sarah Torres was wonderful, empathetic and attentive to my situation. She put the time in and was able to find my maintenance package, even my other dealership couldnt find. This is quality Customer Service that you just dont see anymore. Everyone else in the dealership was also genuinely nice and welcoming. The service technician even texted me a video of the Multi Point Inspection they completed - amazing and unexpected. So glad to have found them, I will never go anywhere else. THANK YOU, SARAH!
Wish I can give 0 star. Horrible customer service. DO NOT recommend Charles Mound dealership.+ p.s. Recommend Georgetown Volkswagen. Their service was quick and everyone was very kind and willing to solve the issue. Here’s what happened.1. Told that “vehicle diagnostic” will take 2 hrs and half and they’ll call me after to let me know what to do next.2. Waited approx. 3 hrs and NOBODY took time to look at the vehicle.3. I was VERY clear that I will be back when they call me.4. Turns out they “thought” I was leaving my car at dealership for several days bc I brought second car. Existence of second does not matter. I’m using my second car to come back to the dealership to get advising on what to do @ SAME day.5. After wasting 3 hrs for nothing, I asked how long diagnosis will take, the advisor said “I DON’T KNOW” without even trying to talk to the technicians. Pointless advising.Miscommunication between advisors and none took responsibility.Absolutely no apologies for wasting my time. The advisors’ RUDE attitude is unforgivable. If you wish to be treated like obnoxious customer when you ask for what you need and what you’ll pay for it, then go to this dealership.
My 1st visit, I took my 2013 CC in for a headlight & full transmission service. They did their multipoint inspection and only flagged my rear brakes in the yellow @ 6mm. Depending on how I drive, that should have gotten me about 10k miles. Instead I got less than 5k before they started grinding. Now less than 10k miles after that, I took it in for a suspected water pump failure, and asked them to look at the car closer. Now my entire engine is suddenly leaking, i need a new timing belt, my turbo charger is going out, along with the suspected water pump. I decided to take the car to Luxury Auto nearby for a second opinion. All diagnoses were verified except the turbocharger. Thats actually a solenoid that costs a fraction of the $2700 VW was asking. The lack diagnosis and level of misdiagnosis here is incredible. My car will never see their garage again. Too expensive and unreliable.
My salesman was Alex Rojas. He was very professional and quick to respond to emails, texts, and phone calls. He was superb in all aspects (knowledge, courteous, professional, polite, attentive, etc.) I work in administration in the public sector myself and he is what every manager dreams of in an employee. We arrived to the dealership and Alex and the team had the car ready, full of gas, and clean. Test drove the car, went to financing (Derek)and I appreciated that there werent any of the typical hidden costs but he showed me all of the options without unnecessary pressure. We opted for gap insurance and the whole process was super efficient, organized, and pleasant. Next time we look for a vehicle we will definitely look at Charles Maund Volkswagen.
Way to go Charles Maund team! Had a tire I needed to replace, realized I didn’t have the lock key to allow it to be changed. I ended up deciding to just do away with the wheel lock, so they removed them for me. The friendly and fast service they gave me was great! Also, they got me in and out fairly quickly midday without having made an appointment. They also did the job for less than half what I was quoted at the Onion Creek dealership.
Hands-down the best Volkswagen dealership I’ve interacted with. My service Advisor was Brant Palumbo. He was on top of everything, very understanding and extremely kind. I’ve interacted with five other VW dealerships in Texas and I’ve felt the most welcome and cared for at this one.I drove down from my home in Waco Texas to visit some family down here in Austin when my car started acting up. Volkswagen towed the car to this dealership that night and the next day they gave me a loaner no questions asked. They had to order a part that took two days to get here but Brant kept me updated with the entire process and had my car back in my hands in 72 hours. Also worth noting I spent 20 minutes sitting in the service area observing other interactions between the staff and customers and truly believe that everyone working there really values their job and the customers. I was blown away by the level of care and thoughtfulness the staff brought. 10/10 service, 10/10 staff. I will be driving my car down here for service from now on as I haven’t had the greatest experience from my home dealership.
This was a bad experience. I normally go to Hewlett VW but I got my last oil change with you location and Ive had a ongoing issues with the break noise causing issues with my parking sensors. This was confirmed at Hewlett and via the technical team at VW corporate. I shared this and the rest of my story with Jason the service advisor. In the end, Jason was unable to get this fixed as it would cost the dealer and they were not willing to cover. Jason tried but he was told he would have to pay out of his check if approved. This seems terrible from not only a customer standpoint but from their employee side. This was the worst service I have received at any VW dealer. I have owned 9 VWs in three different states and all the dealers were great. This is the first one that made you feel terrible. The response left me very dissatisfied. I even shared that Im ready to buy an ID.4 shortly, and Im also going to buy the recently announced ID.Buzz. Coming from a life long VW fan this makes me very sad. Ill be sure to share my story in more detail on all THE social platforms and include the VW accounts directly. I dont want anyone else to feel and be treated this way.
TLDR: pushy, cold, inflexible, high pricesWe stopped by to look at a pre-owned 2019 vehicle. The salesperson we spoke with on the phone was cold and direct immediately asking for my license and proof of insurance without even a hello. We took it on a test drive unaccompanied because of Covid reasons. It was lovely and we were prepared to purchase it. We had done a lot of research before hand and knew the value and that this vehicle was priced a little high. When we got back to the office before I could sit down he pushed a paper at me telling me to write down my SSN and address for the title transfer without even giving me a chance to ask questions. We asked to see the Carfax first and any inspection checklist or other records they had for the vehicle. He handed us the Carfax and again pushed the same piece of paper at me to sign. We handt even agreed on a price. When I asked to see a breakdown of the price he said Its basically the price that was on the window and TTL. I had to ask two more times to see a breakdown before he printed one off for me and gave me actual numbers. When I countered with a reasonable offer he was somewhat rude about it and said I wouldnt find a better deal anywhere. I told him I had seen better deals from other dealerships around and he refused to come down in price. So I left. I will not be returning and will discourage anyone I know from working with the same salesperson.
HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. If I can put up 0 star, I would! I got my car fixed for 70K package. They didnt even put the air filter back. I found out TODAY. From a month ago. They didnt even bother to call to let me know or whatever. Theyre purely scammers. Ive worked with so many different Volkswagen dealership. None of them lowered their standards to Charles Maund Volkswagen. Recommended you guys to go to Georgetown Volkswagen!
I had overall an decent experience purchasing the car. However, the servicing experience is the absolute worst. It took 2 hours to get an oil change and hear today my car is experiencing an sunroof leak and with no availability until 4 days later and no loaner car available until 9 days later. I will change my review based on the service received with this next visit. I was able to get a loaner car because some ended up canceling and my service experience was better this time around so I bumped it up from 1 to 45/20/2019 My car unfortunately is still experiencing a sunroof leak and really disappointed/dissatisfied that this wasnt resolved the first time. Im bringing the score back down to a 1. This is very frustrating and would like a permanent resolution for this issue.06/04/2019 Car was in the dealership and returned to me last week. They found a surface fracture causing water to damp near the driver vanity mirror and above it. Im hoping this resolved the issue. My car was under warranty to both of these services I was not charged. Im glad the found another issue with but dont understand why it was missed the first time. Im bumping the rating back to 3 and will report back if I encounter any further problems with the sunroof leakEvening 06/04/2019 car was in the rain for 30 minutes while I ate and go figure I felt some dampness near driver vanity mirror and above it. Im now permanently bringing my review back to 1 star and honestly have no hope this will get fixed.
I recently bought a Mazda 6, pre-owned from this dealer and had a really great experience! Adrian was an extremely genuine guy and even sat down and looked around on Auto Trader with me when I told him I wasn’t convinced that they had the best prices. In the end I was happy with the deal and happy I was able to work with him. Keep it up!
My issue with this dealership is with the service department. I took my car in about a 2 months ago for a broken sunglass holder, it took them literally an hour and a half to tell me that they have to special order the part. I waited an hour and a half to be told that! They never called me to let me know the part had come in. I figured with covid it may take longer than usual whatever. So, I finally called last week and was told the part had come in. I guess they failed to call me and let me know that. Fast forward to today, I go in at 7:30 AM for my appointment to get it installed. I ask how long it will take and was told I should be ready to go anywhere from 8:30 to 9. I thought that seemed a little long considering I was one of the first customers to arrive, but okay, so I said I would just wait for my car to get through. 9 rolls around no update. Not even a video of multi point inspection. By 9:50, Im getting super impatient because a sun glass holder should take no time to fix. I went and asked about my car and they said it should be ready. So I go and wait another 15 minutes, and they finally come to tell me my car is ready. Why did it take them that long? They didnt offer any explanation. They didnt ask if I wanted my car washed. No courtesy. If I didnt have warranty on my VW, I would never come back her. 0/5 stars for poor time management 2 times in a row and failing to let me know my part was in.
After a less than stellar experience at a southside VW dealership that shall remain nameless, I decided to make the trek across town and give Charles Maund a try when my Golf TDI went into limp mode a couple weeks ago. Wow, what a difference!First off, Im a pretty handy DIYer, and the fact that my current car has a warranty has been an adjustment unto itself. Ive always been skeptical of stealerships, and my previous Austin dealership experience didnt do much to unravel my prejudices in that regard. However, I can honestly say that I really enjoyed the service experience I had at CMVW. The thing that made the biggest difference; they listened and communicated as if people were their top priority. Before I dropped the car off for service, I had read the codes, cleared them, and waited to see what codes would return. When the car acted up again, I was able to share the code report with the service coordinator (Jenny Burge) via e-mail in advance. When I showed up for my appointment, Jenny did an excellent job of making me feel heard while still letting me know that, ultimately, theyd still have to do their thing even if I provided the up front info. No problem...kudos for acknowledging my input. In addition, when the technician (Mike) sent me the video of him walking around the car, he was YouTube-worthy in his delivery of information -- similar to Jenny, the way Mike reiterated my description of the problems and the behavior I was experiencing with the car, it proved that they had listened to me AND that internal communication at CMVW is working well.As with any service experience, they found some things that needed TLC in addition to what the car was originally in for, but they treated me with dignity when I opted out of taking care of those add-ons, and there was never any pressure or fear tactics applied to try to convince me otherwise -- something I very much appreciated.Long story not so short, the original problem was fixed the first time around, and Im back on the road with minimal costs. Ultimately, Charles Maund made me rethink what a dealership service experience is supposed to look like.
I signed for a lease for 4 years and they held me to a fraudulent contract into services like extended warranties I never signed for or agreed to. Managements answer to this was first “ well that finace guy isn’t a here anymore “ then when I started writing these reviews his answer was well you used it. He also didn’t know anything about my lease as he couldn’t state the year and month it ended. This is hands down the worst company I have ever done business with. Ethical companies would have terminated the lease and rewrote it to the specifications of the original lease. They have a slew of terrible ratings for a reason! This is just one of many. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE
Stopped in needing a battery for a key fob and ended up in service where I was referred to a 3rd party for programming. 3rd party never answered the phone and I ended up at a small shop that handled the problem plus earned my future business. The kicker here is NOBODY from service ever took the time to even look at the vehicle or set an appointment. From a desk I was told nope we cant do that without kicking up your electrical etcUnless you have a car being towed in this place DOESNT appear to want your business. One of the many drawbacks of a boomtown.....lazy people culture.
Service department needs people who actually care! Came in with a flat tire. Considering tire wouldn’t be available until Monday I have to wait. I requested a loaner prior to being aware of that and they declined because I needed an appointment. However, another customer was assisted by someone else who offered him a loaner which his vehicle would have been ready following day and mine not until Monday. I am upset, clearly! I contacted VW onion creek and they needed the stock number to which the another guy here couldn’t look up the information so I had to wait until Sarah came back with my paperwork. These people are just lazy to really go above and beyond to help check the system/call or offer something! Turns out they did not have tire in stock as well and no loaners available. All they said was I have a full size spare tire (that only can go 50mph max. I mentioned I am traveling out of town) the best they can do is nothing!!! I drove off the lot with my spare(tire pressure is reading low) and returned inside to double check if they even cared to order the tire just to find out they did not. Nor did they wash my car per request. This is the second bad experience here at Charles Maund VW. Last time they left my car at the wash when everyone was racing out to go home I caught one guy and inquired about my car. He asked the guy who took my car to get washed while he was walking out with his backpack and he shrugged his shoulders and was like no I didn’t go get it...didn’t seem to care like hello!!! You guys get paid to be here, I don’t! Not to forget the tow truck who partners with this dealer was rude from the start! Need to find a Vw dealer who actually cares. I left a voicemail for general manager but he can read this instead.
Bought a pre-owned 2016 Passat from Charles Maund about a month ago. We had Jonathan Sosa as our sales rep and we really loved his approach. He is very direct and that was a really nice difference when buying a car. Typically the sales people will tell you all kind of rubbish trying to sell you a car but not Jonathan. Very direct and very accurate. The sales process was as smooth as could be. However, I am somehow disappointed by their service department. As we found out later, our car had a strong rust build up on one of the brake rotors (apparently stood to long without moving) and the build up was just too much to get rid of by driving the car. I took the car back to Volkswagen to check it and replace parts as needed. The car was returned as good to go, just keep driving and it will go away. Needless to say it obviously did not (as expected) and we had to replace both rotors and pads on the axis in a different service. This does not give much trust into the service guys at Charles Maund as this was so obvious that this should have been replaced immediately when reported as this was nowhere near safe.Still - I think we got a good deal for the car and will most likely go back to Jonathan to buy our 2nd family car later this year. Just not sure if I will let them service the cars.
We drove all the way down from Fort Hood to purchase a new Jetta, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. All of the staff was very professional, and the experience was very low stress. Our sales associate Jean Claude was very helpful, and to date in my life understood his product better than any other sales associate that has helped me before, (awesome). Also, financing was a simple process with their digital signature software they use (super easy). Overall so glad we made the drive and its a tie for the best dealership I ever been to.
This is the best place to take your VW, hands down. I have been taking my car here for the past four years, and I’ve never had better customer service, or such fast and efficient car services! The staff are so friendly, and are willing to help you solve small problems like loose door hinges on the spot, no charges or questions asked. The staff also do their best to minimize or eliminate the maintenance fee when it comes to small fixes like replacing or patching flat tires. (If you’re looking of outstanding service, I used to see Amanda DeHart and now I see Brandon Easter and they are BOTH fabulous!)They also go out of their way to solve unusual, difficult problems...(A longer story) Once, I took my car to get the oil pan replaced at an accident repair shop after I’d run over a giant rock that ripped open the bottom of my bug. The shop didn’t normally work under the hood, but because they had to replace the oil pan, they had to give the car new oil. Soon after the service, my engine was running idle, revving up while in park.I had no idea what was wrong, and the shop I went to said there was nothing they could do about it and it “wasn’t their fault.” So I drove 1.5 hours to Charles Maund VW, because I trusted them to fix my problem. Turns out, the shop I’d taken my car to originally had forgotten to put my oil cap back on! As soon as the engine turned on the first time, oil sprayed everywhere under the hood, leaving the engine dry and hot - it’s amazing I didn’t stall and crash on the highway! But the people at Charles Maund not ONLY replaced my oil, but they also personally took it upon themselves to find a detail service that would clean all the oil out of my engine space and off of the soft felty insulation under the hood - and they helped me make sure the other company paid ALL of the resulting fees. I didn’t pay a penny, and I got my car back clean, pristine, and full of oil the same day.If that isn’t good service? I don’t know what is. :)
Lots of people tell you not to get repairs done by the dealer but I disagree completely. I love these guys. They go out of their way to explain things to me, text me detailed videos of my engine or repair if needed, never mysteriously add on things that aren’t needed, etc. I stopped by once with a broken tail light and they showed me how to fix it myself for free. The other day I stopped by because the check engine light was on and not only did they fix it for free but they aired up my tires and washed the car. I bought my Golf there in Dec 2009 and it’s not even under warranty and they never try to talk me into getting a new one. Their courtesy shuttle driver knows as much about cars as anyone there too and is happy to teach you.
My experience was wonderful. I scheduled an appointment online very easily. Upon arrival, they were all ready for my car and knew what was going on. They fixed the manufacturer issue very quickly. While waiting for it to be finished, I was able to work in their lounge area with free wifi, free drinks, and lots of space. I highly recommend Charles maund VW.
I recently hit a pot hole and messed up a front rim and tire. This dealership was great in getting the rim ordered and installed the next day. The SA Jenny was very courteous and stopped by several times during the work to explain what they found and how things were going. I even received a short video from the tech going over the service performed.Thank you to Charles Maund for the great service. They know how to treat a person and their vehicle unlike another VW dealership. I know Ill be bringing my car back for all future service work.
I have been going here for years for parts and recently got a newer VW (not from them) and have been getting it serviced here. Very painless and in my opinion pretty fair on cost for maintenance for a dealer.Recently I couldnt start my car (2013 CC), it got me to work but not home. Got a jump and made a stop and again needed another jump. The car was acting very strange too, clock would spin non-stop, the hazards would come on randomly and I could not shut them off and the windows would come down.I pulled in to the dealership expecting to get the normal dealer run around since it was 5pm and I had no appointment. (Having a non-working car stuck at a dealer can be good or bad)The service adviser told me he had the same car and issue recently and it was just a battery. I was stunned, I figured they would want to keep the car and do a bunch of tests or something. I had signed the paper work and got my things and moved into the waiting room. When I looked out the window, I was shocked, they had the hood open and working on my car in minutes. About 10 minutes later, they let me know it was the battery and approved them to get me a new one.In under an hour with a dead car stuck on their lot with about 1 hour until closing and they got me in and out. I was shocked and impressed and will be going back for sure for my next service.
Very nice and friendly staff. They have a lovely waiting area and also have a shuttle car to take you where you need to go. I dropped my car off at around 10:30 to have a few things checked (or repaired if it were financially agreeable with my parents) after looking it over they sent a video of a mechanic and all of the recommended services for my car. I told them to fix one thing on top of a part that had been recalled. I didnt get my car back for 2 days, which was pretty inconvenient, but I survived.I would give 5 stars but it seems that even after you unsubscribe from their emails they still send them to you. I get that theyre trying to get your car in to be repaired, but it actually seems a bit pushy and makes me not want to come back.
Charles Maund VW continues to keep my 17 Golf R in top shape through both maintenance and past repairs. I had my 50k mile maintenance done recently, along with having all 4 brake pads replaced, and I couldnt be happier with how the car drives now. Jenny Bruge (VW Service Advisor), in particular, has been absolutely amazing in always making sure that my car is taken care of 100% - this customer service has ensured that I will remain loyal to Charles Maund VW!
Sold me a 2010 car. The tpms light came on immediately, needed an oil change, and has some body damage that I missed when purchasing (partially my fault). Kind of a bummer that they dont do their best to be forthright about what is wrong with a vehicle, now I have spent several trips to mechanics to figure out what is wrong, and the car wasnt particularly cheap for its year, and has a few other minor problems.Edit: I should also mention that the key that came with the car wasnt working properly and needed to be replaced as well. Overall I had to immediately spend a chunk of money (Id value it at at least ~$500 when you count all the time and effort spent, several back-and-forths to different repairmen, etc.) on a car that still has a tpms light on. So be careful!
I would give them a zero if possible. They advertised three vehicles for $3k less than they intended to sell them for. I called ahead to confirm availability and pricing. Of course within 5 minutes of giving them my contact info they call me to tell me they have the vehicle and when would I like to come down to see it. I asked them to confirm the price and they quote me the higher price. I advised him of the price they have listed online and he verifies this. Of course he needed to check on it and get back to me. As expected, crickets all day. I call back and get the spiel about it being a web hosting error and the true price of the vehicle is in fact $3K higher. I asked if they intended to honor the posted price and they wont. As most consumers shop online prior to coming in, we rely on their posted data to be correct. Clearly, it was an error on their part and they simply choose to not accept responsibility. This is poor customer service.
When getting our car serviced for our basic oil change and check up, it usually runs smoothly. There is this one female associate I believe her name is Sally not too sure though but she’s awesome. Super friendly and super informative although I haven’t seen her lately. Recently though we went in to see about changing our tires as they are now worn out and we hit our 3 year mark. We drive down there just for them to tell us yeah one of tires does need to be changed but they can’t help us today due to their system being down. We understood so we asked if he can reach out to us to provide a quote. The male associate took our info down on a sticky note which we already sensed we were not going to hear from him. Sure enough he never reached out to us so we call instead and let me tell you they are horrible at providing service over the phone, we got transferred several times and I am not exaggerating. At one point we were on hold for so long we just hung up and decided to take our business elsewhere. We got a way better deal than what VW quoted us. Not satisfied with their service lately.
In 2019 I bought a used Volkswagen Jetta TDI Sportwagen from here. Its got new tires and a new battery in it.This was a lie. I took it back to the dealership in 6 months for an oil change and the technician highlighted how bad the tires were. They put 2 year old tires on the car and the salesperson told me they were new. BUYER BEWARE!
Jessica was amazing and very patient. I didnt feel pressured to buy. She helped our family make a very difficult decision. We dont typically by new cars and we usually drive them until the wheels fall off or the engine stops. I highly recommend looking at the VW cars and ask for Jessica. You cant go wrong with either. Thank you Jessica!
This is the absolute best dealership! I had the greatest experience and cannot say enough good things!Terry helped me find the perfect car and made the process so easy and painless! This was the very first car I leased on my own and Terry explained everything to me as many times as I needed. He even kept in constant contact with my dad the the whole time.If you are looking for a new VW I would 100% recommend going to Charles Maund and working with Terry! The greatest dealership!
The customer service here is great! Jenny, my consultant, was extremely kind and willing to help. However, I went in for a simple anti-freeze flush and did not get my car until FOUR days later. The wait was ridiculous and inconvenient. I ended up paying over $500 JUST for the handy work, apparently they charge $140/hr just for the mechanic work. The price is absolutely ludicrous. If you can, go somewhere else. You will definitely pay way less elsewhere.
The service department at Charles Maund Volkswagen is exceptional! We purchased a new vehicle at another dealership and had an awful experience with their service department. The staff at Charles Maund were attentive, knowledgeable, reliable and friendly. We would rate the more than 5 stars if we had that option! We strongly encourage all VW owners to use Charles Maund VW Service Department! They are the best!
Charles Maund Volkswagen secretly added almost $3,000 to the agreed-upon price of my used Volkswagen in the form of gap coverage and an extended warranty...WITHOUT ASKING ME! They tried to sneak those two extras in. I was told that Ben Blackwell, Sales Consultant, was responsible for this. I caught their dishonesty upon reviewing the contract before making the purchase and signing. I almost walked out, but I needed the car. I am LIVID with anger and disappointment! I also discovered hidden body damage to my VW a few weeks after the purchase, which would have made the price I paid much, much less if Id seen the body damage. I was a bit surprised at how quickly they took my seemingly-lowball offer! They knew it was damaged! Run from Charles Maund VW! Do not trust car dealers. This is the first, and last time I EVER buy from a dealer! Im 48 years old & have always bought gently-used cars from individuals. I will continue to do this and strongly suggest you do the same. Dont throw away thousands of dollars to a dealers pocketbooks! You see all the 5 stars on Google reviews? Sure, theyre really nice and kind, but its all a ploy to get as much money from you as possible. You will not leave any car dealer with a good deal. All dealers will make a large profit from you or else they wont do the sale. Please read Dont Get Taken Every Time by Remar Sutton, former highly-successful car dealer who chose to get honest and expose this deceitful underworld of car dealers. Car dealerships are some of the most dishonest places on earth. ESPECIALLY Charles Maund Volkswagen on Burnet Rd. in Austin, Texas! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Purchased a new 2017 GTI Autobahn. I live in Dallas and saw this vehicle on their website. Called the dealership and spoke to Juan. The whole experience was very hassle-free. We agreed on a price I put in a small deposit to hold the vehicle flew down to Austin and purchased the car. I got the 72 months / 85000 miles additional warrenty. This is my 7th car purchase in the last 20 years and I have to say this was the best experience. They didnt push any additional products on me but offered all the options I could buy. Most other dealerships have fancy coffee machines and free car washes but jack up the prices. I will definitely recommend this dealership to all my friends.
Absolutely terrible custom service from VW and this dealer. I arrived to check alignment and fix it. Instead of what I want to do they told me: 1. we dont make free checking alignment (which may be understandable) 2. we cant just simple check alignment because you have blind spot and I must pay +500$ for calibration a car after alignment check. In total alignment check should cost more than 700$. Really ?!? Never never go back...
Joy was amazing at helping us buy a new car this month! It was a very enjoyable transaction, she took the time to show us the different models and trims until we found “the one”! What I appreciated the most was no B.S. sales games or tactics. If you’re lookin for a good deal and straightforward sales go to Charles Maund Volkswagen and ask for Joy. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our purchase and our sales experience. Thank you Charles Maund and Thank you Joy B!
Had a great experience getting my car serviced here. They included a video showing the wear on my brakes and the old replaced parts which was a nice touch. My maintenance was covered through an extended warranty so cant speak to the pricing, but the customer service was great
This dealership is awesome. Their service team is very professional and high tech. They sent me a 3:00 video, went over all my concerns and checking all the details. Brant Palumbo is the man to go! Also Brandon F. They fixed my wheel shake and noise, they are very reasonable on service recommendations, only necessary items. And they gave me good deals too. I love my Jetta GLi much more when I drive it out of the dealership after this maintenance.
I was going to buy a 2018 Passat using the 0% interest 60 month plan. I informed them that I had an excellent credit score, which I could prove by showing them my score on multiple credit score sites. After filling out the credit paperwork, they came to me and said that my credit score was 80 points lower than what it is. I showed them my credit score on Credit Karma and Creditwise, and they said oh well thats your CONSUMER credit score. To which i replied Im a consumer. Im about to consume that car. They said we just plug in the numbers, and this is what comes out. Its an enhanced credit score. They could not tell me what factors lowered my credit score by 80 points. They told me that they could look into other interest rates I could get with the manipulated credit score. I told them it was 0% or nothing. So I walked away. It had the feeling of a bait and switch. There was no advance warning that my credit score was going to be different than my actual credit score. They only thing I got out of my three hours at the dealership was an 8 point hit on my (actual) credit score because of the hard inquiry they made on me. I have now heard of this happening before at Charles Maund. So beware of going in to Charles Maund to get a low interest rate because of your high credit score. You might come out of there with nothing but a hit on your credit and no explanation as to why they took a chainsaw to your credit score.
I had my 20K services done at Charles Maund VW after having a horrendous experience at the Georgetown location. Michelle and the service team (Sam) were all friendly, professional, and had great service! Not once did I have to call to get an update. I will definitely continue to have my vehicle serviced here.
I purchased a used CPO car and the process could not have been easier or more enjoyable. The car ran strong and was in good shape, the price was right, the financing rate was right, but what really made this such a positive experience was working with Daniel Bobadilla. Really genuine and kind guy who is willing to go out of his way to help answer any questions you have, and if he doesnt have the answers he finds someone who does. Ive sworn by buying privately for as long as Ive been doing this sort of thing but I would not hesitate to recommend this place to a friend. Walk in and ask for Daniel or Jess and I dont think youre going to have a bad time.
Service Reps were horrible to me. I had to have a tow truck take my car there, since I couldnt get it started. More than one person rolled their eyes at me, because I didnt have an appointment. Seriously?!? I cant plan when my car wont start. After they did the assessment, I had to leave 2 message a day for 3 days before the rep that was helping me called back. The only nice, professional and helpful person was the shuttle driver!... Update: I took my car to German Auto Center (highly recommend!) & they fixed what I wouldnt let Charles Maund fix, & charged $1000 less!
Fantastic car buying experience all around. This was my first time buying a brand new car, and the staff here made it an exceptionally pleasant experience. The gentleman handling my sale, Joseph, was very down to earth and enjoyable to deal with. I never got the feeling that I was being smooth-talked or BSd. Everyone else I spoke to seemed very friendly and happy to help.I would definitely recommend them to anyone shopping for a new car, and especially if youre in the market for the kind of vehicle that only German engineering can match.Charles Maund VW will absolutely be my first stop when the time comes to buy another vehicle.
I went shopping for a car in this delearshup with my son on Saturday 8/31. The salesman was kind to let us test drive the small SUV that we had seen and liked. When we returned to the dealership, we sat down in the used car section to work out a deal. The salesman wanted me to go with their VW financing which I declined. I wanted to go with my credit union to which the sales man quipped that my thinking was wrong in front of my son. I did not appreciate these comments coming from a sales person who was trying to gain my business. He had already formed an opinion about my credit score after I informed him that my CU would beat his high interest loan offer.I decided to leave calmly without buying and reminded him that there was alot of competition out there than what he was offering. This was the wrong approach to engage a potential customer. You should treat customers from all walks of life with dignity if you want to win them. Smart language and sacarsm does not move cars out of the lot. Good customer service and courtesy does. Am not buying from Charles Maund and will drive out of town like I have before to get a better deal!
Well here I go again leasing a Jetta and Im as happy as I was with the last two. The $1,000 cash back December promotion applied to a lease and they took my old Jetta back with virtually no increase in cost. I went from $219 to $227 because I got the one with automatic front emergency braking, side mirror blind spot warning, and rear obstacle warning (along with back up camera) for $8/month extra. Beautiful blue color. Staff very nice and not push.
Tony and Kenneth set me up so nicely!! I came looking for a specific car and immediately Tony came to help and point me in the right direction. I bought the car 2 hours later! Friendly, honest salesmen who are willing to work with you - you wont find shady people here trying to sell you a 1 star car. 10/10 recommend.
I had a great service experience here recently. There was a difficult to diagnose issue on my car, but my service adviser Brant made sure to work with the Techs to figure out what the root cause was before having anything done on the car. Easy to work with and honest folks.
What a great experience! Originally I was expecting something different but I was pleasantly surprised. We were shopping for our 21 year old sons next vehicle, and we had been at it all week. I had seen his budget slowly rise from 6000 to $10,000 and to be honest the quality of vehicles that we were looking at were substandard for that amount of money. We had been to Waco to all of the dealerships that had used vehicles, and he loved Hondas and Volkswagens, we knew that much. I also knew the $10,000 had to become at least $12,000 for him to get in something. Call me old school but damn yall. The next day we had off together, we headed to Austin. Maund VW was the first and last place we had to visit. First off the salesman Tony Rosanno was not pushy at all but very versed in the features and differences about specific models. He really enjoyed his job and got into his work and it showed. His knowledge also made car buying very easy because we were able to compare many different features at a glance between the models. He is straightforward but had a great sense of humor, easy to get along with. When our son selected a 4-door diesel Passat we moved on to financing. Thats where we met Ken Alumbaugh, another all star. Ken guided us through the complex maze of finance and insurance like a friend. Never once did he make us feel anything but welcome. Im sure we bought the best possible coverage for our needs, within our means, because of Ken. Our son normally never speaks up and is very shy. Always has been. Ken made him feel like he was part of it and was directly engaging him, but always in an approachable manner. He was compassionate and professional. This guy wasnt just doing his job. He is making connections with the mind and heart, and earning lifelong customers. My son has already proudly announced that his next car will be a Volkswagen from Austin and I see this being another lifelong customer.. Well done, and thank you.
Excellent.Every body very friendly & helpfulTony my sales guy was very and personable, went above & beyond to explain things, and was also vey patient. All managers were very welcoming & helpful.Very enjoyable experience buying my new Golf, which I love.Nobody could have been more helpful.Looking forward to a long relationship with this dealership.
I just bought a great new fiat and I could not be more excited! Joy Baello in the used sales department was very helpful speed up the process and make it very easy with my busy schedule. She even brought the final paperwork and my new car to my job to complete the process! I am overall very happy with her service and the price for my new car! Thanks again Joy and Charles Maund.
Delivered a used car to us with the engine light on. After a closer look, regular routine maintenance needed to be taken care of. Quite opposite of what their sales folks said to us when they wouldn’t budge on price because of the work they’ve put into it. Find your car somewhere else.Edit for management: my girlfriend purchased a car from them, a decision in which I was heavily involved.Update: this car has been in and out of the shop every 3-4 months since purchase. It’s a lemon and they knew it. I should have known when their sales guy called it a “cherry” and refused to let us drive off the lot with it.
I found a 2013 Nissan Versa (VIN 3N1CN7AP5DL839155) within my price range and with low mileage on autotrader. I went in for a test drive and all seemed well. I was just about to sign all the paper work before I had the inclination to have a third-party auditor to take a look at the car (Auto P.I.) It was fortunate that I did because it turns out that this car has quite a few serious problems with it. First, its been in an unreported wreck. Theres some pretty terrible body work done on the bumpers (almost a different shade of grey - I cant see colors too well.) This wreck hasnt damaged the frame but the alignment is off. Theres also seepage in the transmission and the battery needs to be replaced. Three of the tires are brand new while the fourth is from the factory. I spoke with my dealer about all this and he, allegedly, had all of those problems fixed by their mechanic. However, since they cant fix the poor body work/paint job/unreported wreck I asked that they take the price down - which they obliged (sort of.) Ultimately I ended up passing on the car but noticed that they havent updated the price or history of the vehicle. The dealer offered me $8720 plus TTL, if youre interested in this car dont accept any more!!!Note: If Charles Maund updates the info on this car AND reimburses me for Auto P.I ($139) Ill take this review down. Im not taking this personally but I will take the moral high ground.
Great experience. Came initially to get my 30k mile service and our brakes checked, but after checking out my mileage and the car repair history, they advised that it wasnt going to be worth it to spend $X00 to do another service at this point in time (our car has pretty low mileage). Not only that, but our door was having issues, and they installed a missing piece of hardware that had apparently fallen out when our car was keyed. And they didnt charge anything for the labor!I wholeheartedly recommend this dealership. Great service and really great place to be a customer. This is going to be our go to place for issues with our Jetta.
I got there at 8:30 with full lines and they said itd be an hour and a half to get an oil change. I told them I had something at 10 but i had to get my car fixed. They got me out at 9:15. They had good WiFi, cold water. They did a check up on my car and sent me a video noting everything in good or poor condition. Overall I was really happy with my experience.
Worse car buying experience EVER. I asked the salesman to let me take the car to Volkswagen dealership to get it checked out. He assured me that they had 5 Master mechanics on duty and the car has been checked out thoroughly. Two weeks after I bought the car I was out of town and had to buy a new battery. I also specifically asked how much a clutch cost to repair for a Volkswagen. The salesman assured me that clutches on these scars rarely go out. Needless to say 12 months later the clutch did go out costing me $900. Also I was very specific about not having my credit run more than once I had already received financing and I didnt want a lot of hits on my credit because I was in the process of starting a business needless to say they ran it multiple times anyway. Dont believe anything the salesman says theyre just trying to make a sale and dont have your best interest in mind.
Just leased a new VW from Jean Claude and had a great experience. He worked with me on getting the absolute best deal possible. I have never had another sales rep go out of their way as many times as he did to get me the deal I wanted. He was always friendly and always available. I will come back to him for our next purchase and will recommend him to my friends and family.
After a 25-year hiatus Ive returned to owning a VW. In my search for a new car I ended up at the Charles Maund dealership because it offered the largest variety of local inventory of Jettas. Historically Ive found working with sales staff to be a necessary evil but my built-in optimism that not everyone is cut from the same mold came true in the form of Ken A.. He greeted me on the lot, asked the basic questions, listened to my answers and was genuinely friendly. He patiently worked with me throughout the week as we exchanged emails and phone calls and not once did I feel he was strong arming me into an up sale. I knew what I wanted and after dotting the is and crossing the ts I drove of a happy customer. I definitely recommend working with Ken.Ive since brought my car in to get the brakes checked and learned quickly from Shelley and the service tech that metallic brake pads are just noisy. (Keeping the car stored overnight inside my garage seems to have helped immensely!) The inspection didnt take too much time and there was no fee. I LOVED that the service tech sent me a video of his inspection of the car! I wish all mechanics did that!
They were awesome! Dropped my car off for some repairs.Phillip kept in contact with me the whole time and was very mindful of the budget I was on. He explained that the car had other problems, but wasnt pushy in the least. When I picked up the car he went over everything with me, showing me the other problems and explaining again what all they had to do, what I needed to get done soon, and what wasnt as imperative. Their little receipt thingy also comes with the info, which is awesome if youre like me and forget things within five seconds. Today, I got a follow up call from someone at the dealership, checking in to make sure that everything was working the way it should be. I will definitely be coming back here in a few weeks to get some of the other problems this money pit that I drive has.
My experience with Terry, a salesperson at Charles Maund, was amazing! As someone who takes a bit of time to make big decisions, he was super helpful, and informative; window-shopping was actually fun! He also kept in contact with me throughout the whole process, and, was able to get me in the car I desired for a great price. I wholeheartedly recommend Terry! Go See him!
There are good car dealers and bad ones. There are good service departments and bad ones. Maund VW is one of those that has been, for me, good to both buy a used car from, and has excellent service. In particular, unlike Nyle Maxwell, they honor the service contract they sell. I love the way the service tech does a ideo when they are looking at your car, showing tire status, brake pad depth, shock towers and struts, CV boots, and exhaust. You can see the actual things they are looking at as part of their health check. They have had my VW for every 10k service since I bought it. They have dealt with the odd problems like the top stopping from working. All along the way, Jenny is letting me know how things are going. She is excellent! They get busy sometimes, but that is probanly a sign they are getting repeat business.
Overall a great dealership, went in for a routine oil change and left in a reasonable time and reasonable price; their mechanics diagnosed some things for me that Ill follow up and take care of later. Brant helped me and I appreciate his time and patience even amidst this crazy virus.
I would give a 0 if possible. This dealership is a joke. The woman told me that she would look for the car I wanted and reply within 1/2 hour. She didnt and my husband ended up finding the car in San Antonio, but by the time we reached out, it had sold. She then said she found another one, we spent 2 hours completing all the paperwork and were told the car would arrive in 3 days, but on the day it was supposed to be driven from San Antonio, they lost the keys. That was 5 days ago and still no car. Not sure what kind of a game theyre playing, but its a dirty one.
When looking to service your VW, please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! I recently relocated to the Austin area, and am looking for a regular place to service my car. My previous dealership understood the value of repeat business, always treated me right, and had fair, honest prices. Charles Maund VW does not. 1 - I had to wait over two hours to get an oil change and a tire replaced, even though I had an appointment and there was only 1 other car in the shop. This process should not take any longer than 30-45 minutes. 2 - The service adviser waited until after the car was finished to call in the tire warranty coverage, which took an additional 20 minutes. He was given the information over the phone when my reservation was made, but failed to take the appropriate steps while my car was being serviced. 3 – Rotation and balance has always been included in the 10,000 mile oil change service. It is also included for lifetime of your tires purchased through a VW dealership. They do not honor that. Instead, they want an additional $50 for this labor only service! Discount tire does it for free even if you didn’t buy tires from them because they want to earn your business. 4 – Their oil changes are priced very high and they do not work with you on any prices as other dealer’s do, to earn repeat business for other services. 5 – Didn’t take care while driving my car and pulled it up too far and scraped it on the curb. I also watched a service guy drive another customer’s car over a curb damaging a wheel. 6 – No sense of customer service from several advisers. They don’t even take the time to wash your car as other dealerships do. Even if the wash bay is broken, pick up a hose and wash it off. I choose to take my car to a VW dealership to get that extra level of service and don’t mind paying a little more for it. If I knew they were going to treat me like any corner lube shop, I would have gone there and saved the money.
Just have to say... The VW speaks for itself. Ive never owned anything other than GM and Ford products, and from this day on... Im sold on VW motors. The car is extremly well built, it performs beyond the level I expected, and thus far.. everyone that Ive let drive my car has commented that they would consider a VW in the near future. From the moment I considered buying, the sells staff immediately contacted me and began the process of Showing and not Selling. Again... the quality of the product sold itself. Doris was courteous and prepared. I walked in for a test drive and left in a new car. Ive always been a truck driver... and traded in my crew cab Chevy for a four door family car. Not only do I have to help anyone move... but I dont have to pay 85 bucks every three days at the pump. Call up Maund and buy a new car.. you wont regret it. The facilities are not new or hyped up. But I wasnt there to buy the building. The service staff seems quick and reliable. On the otherhand, the car never needs work! Go see Doris, and leave in a VW!
Jenny Burge has been my service advisor for the last 2 years. She’s always done an exceptional job explaining costs and getting me taken care of reasonably. They have never tried selling me something I didn’t need and always advised me on things that needed to be replaced but wasn’t critical
I go with my friend to shop for car and he looking long time and he pick one. His sales man terry helpful until we get back to his office when he act very agitated and in too much hurry. After they find agreeable price his sales man even more hurry for us to leave. Very pushy. He fights with his manager in the office. We hear and he is saying bad words and yelling and then saying bad words to the lady there. Very bad spirit and you see he have no respect the man he working for. Before we leave my friend looking at the car he buying and his sales man walks up and tells him he can look at it when he buy it tomorrow and he drive car away. I not buying car, my friend buying car. But very bad experience. If sales man treat manager badly, he will not treat customer good either.
Had a wonderful experience working with Terry from the sales department. I picked up a GTI from him right off the showroom and have been so happy with the whole buying experience. Ive never met a car salesman with the respect and sincere honesty that Terry showed me. A down to earth man. If you stop by here I would go through him. Overall this VW dealer was very impressive. Was greeting upon entering the dealer and goodbye as I left, breakroom was stocked up, coffee machine was fantastic. No complaints! Thank you for a great car buying experience.
I did not purchase my VW Passat at Charles Maund, but each time I have a question or service concern, they have treated me with courtesy and expediency. When I first purchased my vehicle, I brought it to Charles Maund to just shake hands to let them know I plan to have my servicing done with them. They did a routine quick inspection of my vehicle, and sent me on my way (no problems). After being concerned I had an oil leak (spots on the road where I generally park, but also where my neighbor parks), they kindly took my car in, put it on a hoist, and showed me the underside of my vehicle, assuring me my car was a-OK. Both Shelley (service rep) and Philip (tech) have been more than generous, and have spoken honestly to me about the condition of my vehicle. Shelley noted some slight dings on my vehicle when I brought it in the first time, which shows they really do take into account even the slightest details. I plan to have my 50,000 mile service with them this weekend, and I look forward to our continued relationship. Whatever terrible reviews are on here, I beg you to give them a chance -- they are good people.
I had a great experience with the sales, finance and service team at Maund VW. To start with, Juan Amaro in sales was fantastic, he was polite, patient and highly knowledgeable. The finance team gave me a no hassle financing plan and explained everything in great detail to ensure the purchase went smoothly. Even after the purchase was completed and I wanted some additional changes to the car, Juan and his team were prompt with their replies and made sure I was 100% happy. I would definitely recommend going here for your next VW.
If you are looking to buy a VW, you have to come here! Dave was my salesman and Brett the service manager were AMAZING! They have been so helpful and I couldnt have asked for a better place to go! All of the salespeople were so kind and friendly I dont understand why anyone would want to go to another dealership! Go see these guys, they are the best!
I traded my car in here for a new Tiguan. The day we were there we waited over an hour to speak to someone in finance. I then tried to go online and pay my new car three weeks later and VW Credit says they don’t have record of me, so I call the dealer and they say they need to look into it. Nobody followed up with me so I went in and waited another 20 minutes to speak with someone in finance. Turns out they did the paperwork incorrectly and didn’t notify me that I needed to go in and resign. About a week later I get a call from my old loan company saying they haven’t received my payment and when I told them I traded it in they tell me there is no record of Charles Maund giving them a payoff. Now I’m waiting on someone else at the dealer to call me and tell me what is going on. I will never recommend this place to anyone and never go here again. I love VW and will use other dealers instead.
The costumer service reps are very friendly and I am pleased with the quality of work however I cant help but be annoyed with the pettiness of their fees. There is miscellaneous fee added to the itemized portion of the invoice. When I called to inquire about this I was told it is a shop fee for the parts. I only had a tire rotation an oil change, so I am not sure what required a shop fee and why that would not be priced into the quote. The grocery store doesnt charge me an additional fee to keep my milk cold, that is how milk is supposed to be sold. I am not sure why this is not priced into the sales price of items. I really dont appreciate being nickel and dimed especially considering the exorbitant cost of service. I will probably go somewhere else next time, which is unfortunate because I bought the car and have had all the service done at Charles Maund.
As of 8/2/2020, my car has been resolvedI came here on 7/27/2020 for a check engine light issue. On 8/1/2020, my check engine light is still on. Im currently working with Michelle Touma via email on resolving this issue and until then, I am not happy with the services provided by this VW dealership.
The service with these folks is astonishingly poor. The only acceptable part of my experience has been the knowledgable conversation with their shuttle guy- who seems to know more about the cars than ANYONE working in the shop. He was very nice and very astute to his craft- yet for some reason he is only their shuttle guy. . . weird. The service guys have THE worst communication skills- I dont think one person actually looked me in the eye when asking me what I was visiting about, and when explaining their findings. I WOULD NOT BE COMING TO THEM IF IT WERENT FOR THE WARRANTY MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER, and obviously knowing this, they waste no effort in being personable at all. They know your locked in, and they treat you like it. As a matter of fact, we go elsewhere for regular service- I highly recommend the other V-Dub folks on 620. Owner Roger there has been doing this for a LONG time it appears and is FAST, FRIENDLY and a v-dub owner himself. Im not the competitor, just a loyal customer with no tollerance for CRAP service. If you can avoid it- dont waste your time with the service department at Charles Maund VW. and to those talking about the car-buying experience- of course its good- they have competition and they want you to come to them because they make money- but remember if their service sucks, then how valuable is it to really buy a car from them? I wouldnt. We went all the way to Corpus Christi, momentum in Houston and to Lafayette Louisiana to get our cars and service and its been a MUCH better experience! We are so glad we found the folks on 620, we will be going to them from now on (of course unless a warranty issue arises and we are then captive to VW dealers, at which point I think we will travel a distance to receive better service.)
Stopped here to look at a used Mazda and the salesman was friendly enough but pulled your typical tactics. We were told that we have a wait a couple minutes to test-drive as someone was already out doing the same. When it pulled up I recognized it as a car that was just sitting in the lot when we arrived. However, this led him to be able to pull the whole well the other person looking is pretty serious so you better jump on it now if you want it... Hate those tactics.
My two sons recently went to Charles Maud to buy VW’s and their salesman was Daniel Badillo. He sold two cars to us and he went above and beyond what any salesman has ever done for us. He was very professional, very nice and easy to get along with. He was so personable yet he was always accommodating and was able to get very close to the price we wanted. I would recommend him and Charles Maud Dealership to anyone wanting to buy a used and new car. We bought one of both and are very happy. So, yes! We highly recommend Charles Maud and Daniel Badillo.
If you’re looking for a used car, go to Jonathan Sosa. He is genuinely there to help you with your purchase and will not try to force you into a decision you don’t want to make. A breath of fresh air when many other sales people will be super pushy and make it seem like they only care about making the sale. Anyone looking for a VW, I’m directing them to Mr. Sosa and this dealership. They took care of my wife and I! Great team.
Didnt end up buying a VW but still got to rate it because I had a supriingly nice experience. I had always heard that Charles Maund dealerships were the worst and to avoid them at all costs or face rip-offs and bad service, but they have definitely changed that, especially after also visiting their Toyota dealership. Worked with Javier at VW and he the ideal sales person. Both times I met with him we had an appointment set up and by the time I drove in, he already had the vehicles that I wanted to test drive pulled up and running and let me drive it by myself, which is always so much better. Not pushy at all and got the number I needed quickly and really tried to earn my business. Only reason we didnt purchase was because the Golf ended not fitting our needs, but would still highly recommend the Golf, Javier, and Charles Maund in general.
Service like you have never experienced. July 4th was a Saturday this year and I am driving through from California to Chicago. Stop to see family and take my 2013 Passat TDI to a local shop for an oil change. They call me some time later to inform me that not only do they not have the correct oil filter but no one who is open on the 4th has one either, it would be Monday before they could get one! I called the dealer and as expected their parts department was closed, I was connected to Pedro the sales manager who said he had a key and would try his best to track down the correct filter. He called me back 15 minutes later and said he was successful! This dealership and Pedro saved the day! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is way above and beyond for customer service.
Ten years ago I bought my second VW Beetle from Charles Maund. It has been indestructible. So in December I decided to purchase a 2015 Beetle from Charles Maund. Chad Miller was outstanding in helping me select the new high tech Beetle. I have always had excellent customer service from Charles Maund, but Chad was beyond wonderful and I now consider him a friend. He helped with the complete setup for the new Beetle including Burt in the service department. I highly recommend both Chad and Burt and would never hesitate to purchase my next car from them. Charles Maund stands for quality and superior customer service. Bravo !!!
Terry Fitzgerald, the sales man that we dealt with at Charles Maund was stellar.First, when we arrived, instead of rushing over to us like most car salesman do (my wife and I call them vultures cause they circle you until you get out of the car) Terry waived and let us come to him! He welcomed us, and told us that he was there to assist us and not get in our way while we looked. He did just that! He was happy to open up and move any car out in to the open for us, and we looked for at least an hour. Terry stayed with us the whole time and never pressured us or hovered over us while we looked and discussed. When we finally found the Passat that we liked, again, all went smooth with Terry. He took care of us and got us a great price on the car.Secondly, after the purchase we had a mechanical issue with the car, immediately after we left the lot. Something with the suspension that the service inspection must have overlooked. I was upset, but a call to Terry and he assured me that even though the car had no warranty coverage, that he would do his very best to get us taken care of.It was a difficult situation because I am from out of town and getting service would be difficult to arrange, but he got me in touch with Johnny Jarrott, the used car sales manager, and they made sure that my problems were resolved, free of charge to me!I have to say, I really thought that theyd crawfish on helping me out, cause that is what I have experienced in the past with most dealerships, but Terry and Johnny at Charles Maund VW stuck by their word, and got my Passat all fixed up and ready to roll!
The worst dealership that I have been to. The used car salesman didnt care to sell the car to me. Instead, he asked questions about my Visa status. That was funny. I bought my car at vw momentum in Houston, the best dealership there is per me. Go out to the other VW in Georgetown for a good car buy/ Service experience.
Brant in the service department is an example of the high quality employees at this dealership. I purchased a 2013 tiguan here a few years back. I recently had a problem with my turbo and came in for repair. There was an issue with my warranty, but Brant made it right. A few days later I walked out with a FREE BRAND NEW TURBO. I didnt pay a cent for the new turbo and couldnt be happier with the service I received. Highly Recommend
They dont stand behind their cars. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned GTI, and have had nothing but issues. The headliner has fallen down, the cheap respray of rock chips came off after the first wax, the battery needed immediate replacement, body damage was found on the front quarter panel, and according to discount tire (and the roaring road noise), a wheel is bent. Charles Maund will warranty precisely NONE of these items. I fault myself for not inspecting the car more thoroughly, but I had put my faith into Charles Maunds CPO inspection process. My mistake.
Bought a Jetta from Paul a few months ago. He was great and gave me a nice deal! I was only only disappointed with the final signing. I cant remember her name but she lied when trying to sell additional warranty. Said we had to have the vehicle serviced at VW right after asking Paul before hand. Other than that, she didnt even know the VW warranty which was unacceptable when trying to sell more crap at the end of the transaction.
The worst experience ever. I regret buying the car from them. First they falsified the carfax and showed me a clean one after a week i go to the Round Rock dealer for an oil change. Well guess what technician comes back and tells me that the car has some serious issues and it wont be covered in the warranty since its been in a accident.I go back to the burnet dealer, and their answer to that is that they fired the guy who sold me the car.Do your self a favor do not at any circumstances buy a car from the VW dealer in burnet specially certified cars because they are known for falsifying documments.
This dealership is exactly what most people do NOT want to have to mess with any more when you buy a car. Doing business here is not worth it. Just DON’T. Take the time and drive north to Hewlett. In the end – you will have saved time and had a much better experience. I had gone to Maund because it was closer. I clearly stated what I had for a down payment and what I expected for my trade in, yet my salesperson came back with a quote that completely disregarded several of the terms we had discussed. To start out that way is both insulting and a waste of time. I was told “that’s not my job” and challenged every step of the way. Even if a deal does not work out, no one wants to have their time wasted.
Smooth dealings from start to finish here at Maund VW buying a new car. I met the salesman Jonathan Sosa the first time I walked in, and after that, i had his cell number. he was good with texts and always answered his phone. He was low pressure, easy going, and informative, and he let me test drive everything by myself. the thing i liked about maund is that the price that i ended up with was the final price. i went to other dealers and then id get to a final price only to find out that they would add x amount for nitrogen, or y amount for window tint, thus raising the price by a thousand or more. So id just walk out. that didnt happen here. No add ons. When i decided to go with this GTI, i was in and out of finance in less than 30 minutes and Jonathan threw in some nice VW swag. Id buy another VW from Jonathan and Maund.
Im not one to bash an establishment based on an experience with just one or two individuals, but I figured I would be honest about the experience I had at Charles Maund VW. I was passed around between Terry and Alex while trying to find the perfect used VW Tiguan to fit my needs. At first, Terry was helpful in listening to my needs and wants. I needed to find a car fairly quickly because my current car was flooded and totaled. With it being Memorial Day weekend he apparently got too busy for me and passed me off to Alex, who attempted to help me as best as he could. I was interested in a Tiguan that was listed as a fair deal on CarGurus, so I figured they would be able to come down a bit on the price. After talking to their manager about it twice, they wouldnt budge, but instead suggested a different Tiguan that they claimed they could bring the price down on to satisfy the price range I was wanting to stick to. Alex came back and said there was miscommunication and the manager thought we were talking about a different car, and they would not be able to come down on that one at all. Overall, it wasnt a great experience and I felt like I was having to put in more effort than the sales associates were, so I ended up getting an awesome 2013 Tiguan through CarMax where I was actually treated like a valued customer. :)
My lady and I were helped by a very nice gentleman named Terry F. Terry was knowledgeable and very helpful. Not once did I feel that we were being pressured into buying anything and Terry also went out of his way to work with our budget. Great car buying experience!! I certainly would recommend Charles Maund VW. Go see Terry and let him wow you.
Those 5-star belong fully to VW Maud Service Department!Just came back from a scheduled airbag replacement (factory recall). Not only they completed all work in less than an 1h, they also did a quite thorough vehicle inspection (for FREE) and recorded everything on a video (which was sent to my phone for review when I was sitting in the waiting lounge) - well done V for this great & innovative idea! Special thanks to Jenny and her associate who did the actual inspection and video recording
Dont buy a car here! They sell all your info to a shady third party warranty company that will constantly send you official looking mail that tries to scare you into buying some extended warranty. Every month I get new letters saying Your warranty is expired, final notice! They have been giving me final notices for over a year. Now they are starting to call me on my cell phone at work and trying to tell me my warranty has expired (it hasnt). For the amount paid for the car there is no excuse to sell my information, they dont respect their customers at all.
I recently bought the 2015 GTI and was not sure where to send this but I just wanted to say that the car is amazing and it saved my life. The day after I bought it I went on a road trip about 700miles and it was warning me about black ice and as I was driving the truck in front of me started to slide on it and I did not feel a thing the traction control kicked in and my car stayed straight then I looked in the mirror and the truck behind me also hit it and spun out of control and flipped over on its side. I turned around and used my emergency services button and it was so easy they sent emergency services to my location. It was pretty remarkable how easy and fast it was. I stayed there until they arrived everyone was ok. Then continued on my way the snow storm got pretty bad but I still felt like I had total control the whole time. On the way to my destination I saw 6 roll overs from the ice including a semi. I was pretty much the only car on the road that was driving besides the semi trucks. However I still felt that the car had complete control. I am very pleased with my purchase and just figured that I would let someone know how pleased I am with the new 2015 GTI that I purchased from Charles Maund Volkswagen in Austin Texas. The staff was great, my guy Eiji Evans was great and not pushy like you would expect from car dealers, they even let me register the car in a different state because I am in the military and wanted tags from my home state. This is my first Volkswagen and I will never buy a different brand again.
I had a a GREAT experience with this dealer!! Juan A. was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and got the vehicle we wanted at the price we wanted. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. Low pressure, and genuine people is what made this experience so great. I will definitely recommend Charles Maund VW to anyone that is looking for a VW. Ask for Juan!
Out of the 3 times that I have been to this location, there are 2 times that bad things have happened. I got a coolant flush, then I left. Not more than 5 minutes later, my engine light flashed because they did not put ENOUGH coolant fluid back in my radiator!...then a technician simply changed out my light bulb, but for some strange reason that is unknown, he put the light bulb in crookedly, in which, burned out my entire back light system! You talk about PISSED! Something so simply as to change a DANG light bulb!!
My overall experience at Charles Maund Volkswagen was excellent as always. As a first time car buyer, I had many questions, which were all answered in detail by Joy Baello. Joy made the car buying process fast and easy. If you are looking to buy a Volkswagen from this dealership, I highly recommend contacting Joy.
The BEST. 1 of the ONLY VW Dealers in Texas not to mark up GTIs and Golf Rs, which is a testament to their honesty and the great people they are. I particularly like the Finance guy, Mr. Roel. He wasnt pushy, didnt try to sell me a bunch of B.S. packages like Nitrogen in the Tires or become pushy in ANY way. Amazing experience, 35 minutes in and out.
Where do I began, as a graduate student studying Gerontology my part-time job allows me to drive seniors to medical appointments when a family member is not available to take them and pick them up. This is the main reason I had to have a Volkswagen Beetle. Our clients love having their rides in the memoriable beetle. In completing the sale with Charles Maudes financier Richard/Ricardo I thought the offering of warranty coverages -Fidelity/Pre Owned Service - were not for excess overpricing, but Richard/Ricardos version of care and concern for how reliable I needed the vehicle to be in order to transport sometimes very fragile cargo (ill seniors). Apparently it was not. The warranties are just two wasted trees.Having only driven but 1,050 miles in the pre-owned beetle in the six weeks I had the car. The clutch burnt out. As I was towed to Brazos Import Auto Care I was told some fowl news. None of those warranties covered a clutch, a bearer or a flywheel (could it be because these are essential features in driving the car). What else do you need the warranty for: essential pieces. When a cost quote of $2,600 for repair was thrown at me I immediately requested we call Austin, Texas Charles Maudes Volkswagon service department up to receive clarity of the warranties. Sure enough there was a fault loophole in the Pre-Owned Service warranty and the Fidelity Warranty flat at states it refuses to cover the cost of replacing a clutch, bearer, or flywheel(at least they were straight forward). Fidelity was not going to cover the cost of any item most likely to be worn down by the time the next smuck purchases the vehicle and needs a piece replaced. Who knew driving 1,000 miles or so will leave the vehicle undriviable with no shifter, no clutch.I never knew why Richard/Ricardo did not tell me the cars clutch was on level 10 damage or why not even warn me by emphasizing: purchase some type of warranty for clutches. Now I am stuck with a pretty blue bucket ( the car) without a clutch 8 weeks after I drove it off the lot. To better understand its like carrying a mortgage on your house, paying monthly payments: but only being able to sit on your front lawn and view your house. Not entering into it.Thats my new norm ...ending my relationship with VOLKSWAGEN.
Great experience here at Charles maund Volkswagen, my sales person was Jessica she is very accommodating and super friendly I felt totally comfortable with the deal that she worked out for me. I would definitely recommend working with her as she made getting my new car a walk in the park.
Id like to recognize Brandt P. in the Service Dept. Brandt has done a phenomenal job! each time weve taken our VW in for repair. recently, we took our VW in for a major engine repair and Brandt took the extra step in researching the repair was still under factory warranty. Exceptional Customer Service!
Wanted to lease a Passat and Pedro Gallardo from Maund emailed me immediately with a target quote, using a trade-in estimate I had in mind. I was armed with many questions to ask about lease terms and options and fired them off to Mr. Gallardo. He promptly responded to all questions in detail - even better, the lease quote remained steadfast. In short, he gave best deal he could upfront. What I particularly liked - I asked email contact only and thats what I got - quick email only contacts. Efficient. The car I wanted was 150 miles away - so he got a driver to go get it same night - the Passat was delivered, tinted, and in perfect condition by noon the next day. Sales consultant Regi Singleton was great in his help thru this process. All in all, a professional, honest, get-the-deal done attitude - and you have a happy customer. Highly recommended.
I was a returning VW customer arriving at Charles Maund after a bad experience with another austin-area VW dealer and I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Terry. Terry patiently worked with me while I looked at several car options, presenting the most helpful, comprehensive safety features and pointing out many car highlights. Throughout the process, he listened closely to my wishes and delivered. I ended up buying a brand new Jetta from Terry and the team at Charles Maund and I will be returning to them for all of my car maintenance needs as I know they will continue to take care of me.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the service department at Charles Maund VW. I will admit that my first visit to the Charles Maund VW service was not ideal. I was prepared to write a “not so good” review but decided to give then another chance, as they are, by far, the most convenient VW location for me.Unfortunately, less than a month later, I was in a very frustrating and potentially expensive situation with my 2013 Touareg. The service director, Corby, service manager, Kenneth and service advisor, Brant, went “above and beyond” to work with Volkswagen of America to help get my issue resolved.I want to encourage those of you who have written or read some of the “not so good” reviews of the service department to give them another chance. They are working very hard to improve their image. I know that I, for one, will become a repeat customer. ~ Hopefully, not in the near future!
I asked for a coolant top-off, which is required to be 50% coolant and 50% distilled water, they pour what looks like 95% tap water. Its so light in color, there is no way there is even 10% coolant in there. The fact that theyre so cheap to mishandle your genuine WV equipment leads me to believe they probably dont even bother with distilled water, either. This is an absolutely disgusting disservice that they perform. I didnt ask for a tap-water top-off. Totally irresponsible.
The sales experience (2006) was very ho hum and the salesman was pretty snobby. Enough about that. This is a shout out to the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Ive read several horror stories, but my experience has always been excellent. Ive had to take my car 3 times for service and every time they have gone the extra mile to ensure my car is good to go. They have been equally attentive/courteous when my wife takes her vehicle in for service. Will be getting another VW soon (most likely at Maund) thanks to the service department here at Maund VW.
Its been twice now that Ive had to deal with the negligence of the Charles Maund VW Service Department, in particular Philip Escobar. Philip has misdiagnosed my 2013 Tiguans issues twice now even after I have suggested from the very beginning where the issues were coming from. As a mechanic myself and engineer, this type of arrogance and belief that that your customer is a total ignorant is shameful to say the least. Philip even argued to me why I didnt get the service done somewhere else? Because Philip, if my vehicle were under warranty then Id probably want to take advantage of this, wouldnt I? All in all, listen to your customer. They pay your salary afterall.
The car buying process was so easy. I really didnt think that was possible anywhere. Thanks to Jethrow Palacio!! He took care of us. He wasnt pushy. He listened to what we wanted and he made it happen.Kudos to the team at Charles Maund Volkswagen!! You guys were fantastic!!
Came in at 7:30 am for some service and Kendall Owens was my Service Advisor. He booked it getting status updates as I was on a tight schedule, even pitched in to finish the car alignment when the service tech went to lunch so Id make it out on time! I could not have asked for more friendly and helpful service and would definitely want to come back here next time I need service.
The clock spring on our Tiguan is out after 51,000 miles. Maund VW charged us $600 to replace it. Ive been checking around on the web and called another dealer and none of the quotes exceeded $400. The OEM part is $140 and it should take an hour to do it. They charged me $300 for the part, a markup of 100%, and 2.5 labor hours. An absolute ripoff. As luck would have it, a coworker in my office is actually shopping there this week for a Jetta. Maybe I can talk her out of it, at least out of buying it from there.
Should have written this soon, but, NEVER under ANY condition buy a used car from this place. bought a used 2011 vw cc last year. sales associates were very helpful but knew very little about cars or anything about the cars on the lot. one car I looked at before purchase, someone had put motor oil in the coolant reservoir. all cars had clear titles but most had been repaired and repainted including mine. My wheels had even been repaired and it turned out after further inspection that one of them was even BENT!!. they repaired a bent rim and this was supposed to be VW CERTIFIED preowned vehicle. They said they would replace the wheels because of my dissatisfaction, but EVERY time I called or tired to make an appointment to get them replaced I just got brushed off, no returned calls, everyone was always too busy to help, and this is trying off and on for over 8 months. NEVER buying anything from ANY Maund dealership.
I worked with Eiji (pronounced A.G.) and I could not be happier with the experience. He made the process of making the second biggest purchase in my life so easy. I was able to give him a call and tell him exactly what I wanted, a 2014 Passat TDI SEL in Candy White. He emailed me a quote with the total price, which was the lowest I found between Georgetown and San Antonio. We setup a time to take a test drive and go through the purchase paperwork. I bet I spent less than 45 minutes total at the dealership; between test drive, filling out paperwork, and Eiji giving me a detailed demonstration of all the features in the vehicle. I was able to drive home in exactly the new car that I wanted that night. It has 5 miles on the odometer before the test drive. Im closing in on 500 miles just commuting between work and home for the last 3 weeks and I havent had to put more diesel in it yet, still on the tank they filled up when I purchased it. This is my dream car and Eiji at Charles Maund Volkswagen made it the dream experience. I highly recommend working with them to find your dream car and will definitely look here for my next vehicle in the future.
I went to the dealership to look at a vehicle I found online, but i didnt care for it. Joy helped point me in the right direction. She listened to what I was trying to accomplish, and was able to match me with a VW that I love!Thank you Joy. You were a pleasure to work with and look forward to reaching out to you for my families next vehicle needs.
I purchased a GTI this past week working chiefly with Chad Miller. Chad and all other representatives were terrific - helpful, thorough, professional in all respects. Could not be more pleased with the car and look forward to working with these folks into the future.
Bought our pre- owned vehicle here, after a month of looking for the best deal and knowing the make and model that we wanted, we found it here at Charles Maund VW. Service was great ( Anthony), they had the vehicle up front & waiting, attentive but they werent down our throats, we were test driving the car in mere minutes of arriving, they got us through the buying process with ease and comfort and they had the already clean car washed inside and out again while we finalized paperwork and we were off! Drove the car home! Thank you Charles Mound VW for great prices, service and our awesome car! We love it and got a GREAT deal! - Kristal and Don Henery
Daniel Bobadilla helped us find the right car with no hassle. Very knowledgable, answered all of our questions, and made every step of the process hassle-free. I highly recommend working with him to find your next car. Hes actually fun to work with, which is something I did not think I would say about shopping for a new car.
We brought our 2010 TDI Jetta in for intermittent DPF lite and engine lite issue because Hewitt VW was backed up a week and a half. What a MISTAKE. Burt the service advisor ( nite job, would you like fries with this order ) checked us in, called next day with the diagnosis ( i e their guess ) and quoted @ 325.00..Well, that didnt fix it so the highly trained parts changer took another throw at the dart board and said, Hey how about this, Burt called and said great news, for just another 550.00 I promise we can have it fixed, Next day picked up vehicle and drove a WHOLE 18 MILES and same issue and more, now AC stops working and more lights come on. So we call dealer from side of road and are told service is gone. Asked to speak to some type of management and get a sales manager . explained issue and that we are unsure vehicle is drivable. What should we do? This clown couldnt decide if the toilet paper roll goes on so the paper goes over the top or comes out from the bottom without a guide book let alone make a customer decision. Next morning spoke with Burtie, Ken Prewitt ( assist fry cook? ) and was told wed have to get vehicle back to them so they could see what was wrong with it now, but it was repaired properly when then released car to us, HUH?? It was brought in for an intermeiitent issue and because it showed no lights when we picked it up they claim they fixed it properly. stay far far away from these clowns.
In a regular 60,000 mile maintenance for my vehicle, the fuel filter is supposed to be replaced. Maund says they did, however a few months later my system was found to have rust in it. There is no way they performed the service as required, or they would have noticed the rust. Dealership is claiming they did. Worst service ever. Cost me thousands of dollars.
Ive given this organization multiple opportunities to redeem itself, but here we are -- one star. I lease a Jetta throught CMV, and I must say -- I LOVE MY CAR! Almost enough to bump up to two stars. However, Ive had countless missteps with the staff at CMV, and while I feel my husband and I have been gracious each time, we continue to be disappointed by the lack of integrity, organization, and customer service weve faced with CMV. Mostly, I am disappointed by their inability to accept responsibility for their mistakes.Recently, I discovered that one year after I traded in my old car, CMV never transferred the title (the dealers responsibility). Our old car has been driven throughout Austin with my old title still attached. It was represented to me (and within a fully executed and counter-signed agreement) that this was taken care of one year ago. When we asked to have this corrected, the General Manager, Dale McConnell, went as far as to state that it would be an easy process for them to fix, but it would be much simpler if I would handle it for them. Followed by more excuses, and no apology.
Wish I could give them 0 stars. I called with an inquiry about a Volkswagen I had bought from a different dealership and he rudely informed me he would only talk to me if I was trying to trade it in.I dont remember the salesmans name, but DO NOT give your business to this Volkswagen. I cannot imagine how a company like this can have Salesman so disrespectful and self serving. At least pretend to care about your customers needs.
Never buy from this dealership , bought a VW GLI from this dealership and have had nothing but problems with it. They promised me the car was in great condition and said they inspect all their cars for quality. The second I drove off the lot it has costed me thousands of dollars.
Terrible! My VW Beetle went 6 years without needing an AC compressor. Its s 2007. Maund quoted me a price Twice as much as Hewlett. Maund put a new compressor in 2013. It just went out. Maund would not stand behind the work. A compressor for a VW bug should last 6 years. I hate this company for boo hoping and telling me nothing can last forever! So sorry! Their parts are high and labor is high. SNF the manager Kenneth has no standards to stand behind the service. I give this company a 1. Dont buy anything from them as the service if you can get it will wipe you out. Midas ended up doing the full work and gave me a lifetime warranty.
I like brining my VW here. The service is always exceptional even if more expensive. On top of that they do this neat thing of taking a video recap after looking over your car to tell you and show you what they want to replace and why. It removes the vale of wondering if something really need to be fixed or if a mechanic is just trying to pull one over on ya.
I am so please to say that I own a new 2012 Passat. The best part is the customer service and dedication of every employee, mainly Jean Claude Moughanni. Great sales man and better person, family man dedicated to his family and to become the best employee. The vehicles are awesome but the amount of care to satisfy each customer is amazing.
I just bought a 2014 Jetta TDI from Eiji (pronounced AG). The first out the door offer that I had was waaaayyy less than my offer from another location. Dealing with my salesman Eiji and Jesse in the finance department felt more like meeting and dealing with people that Id like to hang out with...not at all the cheezy car salesman cliche that you get during most car buying experiences. Id highly recommend these two at Charles Maund for your car buying experience!
Awful service, cant even fix a car tire. Today is the 3rd time I am dropping off work and everything going to Burnett road location to get my tire please fixed. I didnt want to trek up to Georgetown when there is a local VW dealer closer by but having spent so much time at Charles Maund, I now think that it is worth going to Georgetown for a tire change because this place does not know how to do even that.
Is there any guy having the problem like me?I thought it was a mistake, but it was too fishy. They made, coincidently, three mistakes in row, wrong apartment number in my address (one digit error), wrong phone number (one digit error) and wrong ssn (one digit error). If they make such mistakes, though you finished your paper work on the buying date, you will be contacted from the financial company for being denied by wrong incompatible references. No wonder, since they used a wrong SSN.Then, after the paper work, they can re-negotiate the whole stuffs. And, since youve been driving your new car quite long, it is also hard to return or cancel it.It is a conspiracy theory, but beware your contracts, see all numbers carefully. Though you have a correct SSN on your paper work, they could put a wrong number for their loan query system to screw you up.If any one get through the same trick, please share it.
I leased a 2014 VW Jetta from Charles Maund VW on 1/31/13 -- the experience was extremely positive. Our salesman, Jon Lopez, was an absolute gem! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly: sincere; I never felt as though I were being lied to or manipulated. I highly recommend leasing or buying from Charles Maund VW and asking for Jon!
Terry Fitzgerald was super helpful when we were shopping around for a new GTI. I was working with 3 dealers to find a pretty specific cars, and the other 2 dealers basically stopped trying to get me the car I wanted, and started trying to sell me the car they had. Terry listened to me, and did what it took to get my bad black GTI, with the exact options I wanted and nothing else. Thanks Terry, and I hope to work with you again in the future.
My wife and I were in need of a car in May of 2013. We were back and forth on what to buy, but were down to a Camary and a Passat. Eventually, we decided on the Passat, and Larry Chabert was with us every step of the way. Never pushy, he answered every question I had (some more than once) and he worked WITH us and LISTENED to us to make sure we would make the best choice for us.The Passat is a diesel, so Larry spent extra time informing my wife of the pros and cons of an engine she had only seen in trucks. When we signed, we were not simply told thanks and come back, Larry spent over an hour going over every part of the car, showing us every function, again answering question after question...you would have thought we were his only customers for the week it took us to make a decision.Since the purchase, if we have any questions or need anything done to the car, Larry is our go to guy, continuing to perform at a level WAY higher than any car dealer Ive ever dealt with.Buy from Maund and ask for Larry!
Take my car for a battery replacement and they go beyond my expectations, they even check my charging system to verify it wasnt faulty, etc.Their waiting room is clean and you can either work on a designate area or seat on the couch and watch tv while enjoy a coffee, an espresso or a hot cocoa.
If I bring my car in 20 minutes before you close and offer to come back another time. Dont take it back to the shop and not diagnose it because it may take to long. Either tell me no from the start. Or diagnose the vehicle. That was pretty rude of the service Im sorry.
We had a fantastic experience working with Amit to buy a new Golf TDI. Amit made us feel very comfortable and at ease during this process: start to finish. He was great at answering questions and giving just the right amount of tips. We hadnt entirely locked down the idea of getting a VW or even sticking with the CM VW dealership, but our first interaction with Amit was so positive we wanted to work with him to get what we wanted. Definitely recommend making an appointment with Amit if youre interesting in locking down a deal. Very happy with the purchase and zipping around in the new car!
Regi was my sales consultant, he provide me with all the information i needed and put no pressure. I took several weeks to decide looking at different dealers and different car companies. In the end Regi provide the best deal. The process of buying a new car from begging to end was super. This is my 2nd Passat at Charles Maund and i highly recommend them. Thank you Regi and Charles Maund VW.

2021-10-28I decided to make an appointment with Charles Maund, waited 2 weeks, dropped of the car 10/15/2021. They texted me the next day. I was told they were able to replicate my issue and found 2 possible causes. They began the work the next day and texted me to tell me they had the car ready for pick up 10/19/2021. Since then I have not had any vehicle stalls. I was happy with the communication, service and experience.I had a terrible experience with Onion Creek VW and I will never waste my there again. Im simply going to stick with Charles Maund and get my moneys worth.

2022-07-14Every time I do business with a car dealership, I end up with an icky feeling by the end of the process. This was not the case at Charles Maund. From the initial contact, to the negotiations, financing, and vehicle prep, everything was a smooth and positive experience. Genuinely satisfied with the whole process. Special kudos to Caleb Gutierrez who gave me exceptional service throughout the whole process. Thank you very much!

2022-03-19Jason, a service advisor at Charles Maund was a life saver! I had been on the phone for Hours calling different VW service center all over San Antonio and Austin and Jason was the first service advisor that was willing to listen and answer my question! He was kind, knowledgeable and immediately knew the problem and solution. Jason saved me an 1.5hr drive to Austin from Hill Country!!! Jason made my day and I cant say enough about his willingness to listen and help! He didnt make me feel like I was wasting his time, he patient and sooo helpful. Jason at Charles Maund needs a raise:)

2021-01-21Purchased a CPO Tiguan from William Cole at Maund. Having worked at dealerships before, I am always skeptical of stereotypical sales tactics when buying a car. However, the experience at Maund was actually really great. When we first met William, he insisted on a low-pressure, comfortable buying process. Honestly, I didnt believe him but he kept his word. Negotiating and term discussion was casual and transparent, not predatory. From test drive to delivery, we never felt like we were being taken advantage of. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the other dealerships and carmax, and we appreciated that so much - It ultimately made us want to buy a car here.Even after agreeing on a price and financing terms, I found some previously unnoticed body damage during delivery. Without hesitation, William said it would be taken care of. I imagine most places would just refer you to the sold as-is clause, then try to sell you the repair. If more dealerships and salespeople provided the same experience we got from William at Maund, car buying wouldnt be so intimidating.

2020-03-04This is what I got after (not before) 70K service. Did they eventually fix my car? After 4th visit in 3 weeks, Yes. Lots of drama? Yes. Dishonest? Yes. Horrible Attitude? Yes. Go back there again? NO.

2018-06-29Jonathan Sosa was my sales guy and made the process easy. After I bought the VW Certified Pre-Owned car I realized there was an issue and I thought for sure I would be stuck paying to fix it since it was days after I had purchased the car.Im sure any other dealer would have pretty much said buyer beware but they fixed the issue and made things right. My wife totaled my 14 Jetta Sportwagen and in all of Texas Charles Maund was the only place that just happened to have the exact replacement car I was looking for. Finding any TDI Jetta Sportwagens is hard and finding this 14 with only 26K miles being close by at a great price was super lucky. The car was an exact clone of the one I had down to every single option.

2022-07-20The service was good. Brant the service person I was mostly dealing with was on his cell phone every time I went in to speak with him. Thats just not very professional.
