New Orleans pasta was pretty dry and smoked sausage was watery and rubbery. The blackened fish wasnt blackened and the waitress explained they dont really blacken it they just use blackening seasoning. It was very undercooked had to send it back to be cooked longer and it still was mushy. Salad had a heaping pile of eggs so if youre allergic like me beware. I havent had great food at least the past 3 or 4 times I have been to a Cheddars not just in Beaumont. I have heard burgers were good maybe Ill try that if I go back.
The service was not good until we got the Manager involved. It seemed like the server was just having an off day. The kitchen got the food order wrong. The appetizer came out with the meal. My stake was over done. The ribs fell off the bone great. So if you go get the ribs. They know how to cook them. Dont order the seafood pasta that was gross.
First time here and my expectations were high from listening to what others have said. Walk in and stood there for about 5 min and didnt even get a welcome. Finally asked just 2 and we said yes. Get seated and its really a comfortable environment. But finally 20 min later (yes I used my timer) we had to ask for service.Finally the guy we asked helped us even though we werent in his section. He took our order, brought our drinks and spinach dip.It took about 15 min for food to come out. Jeremys steak was cooked wrong, and he was given a wrong side item. The sauce they used on the grilled shrimp was gross, tasted like straight soy and teriyaki. Mine was cooked wrong and I was missing a side item. Took another 5 min to get the right items. Then I had to ask for a refill on my tea. All in all we wont be back. For the raving reviews from family and friends I think our expectations were too high. I will stick with Logans! 2 stars for price and comfort only.1hr 47min
Worst restaurant experience of my life. We were there for 30 minutes before we even got our drinks drinks, an hour later we asked where our food was and it wasnt even in the computer. So we had to leave and go next door and eat at a different restaurant. At least the manager comped our drinks but we will never return!
I havent been here since they have change ownership I will say I was kinda scared what would I would find different or did they kept some things familiar. Let me tell you they empress me they brought those yummy rolls 😋 as a compliment and they did keep alot of the menu the same and did change the menu. Great job! I will be back they did great service is still the same vibe. Thankyou Cheddars.
The bathrooms had several live roaches in and around the toilets, filthy floor, no napkins to dry hands.... Im just wondering why this is the new standard. I have been traveling across the country and have seen this over and over from the chain stores. Im embarrassed for them.
I absolutely love coming to Cheddars. This is one of the best restaurants to visit in Southeast Texas! The staff are always very skilled at their position(s) of the job. Their different varieties of meals are delicious! Reasonably priced restaurant. Id recommend this restaurant!!!!
I arrived in Beaumont TX today after battling traffic from San Antonio. With the I10 closed that caused a problem but I made it. Its was time to find somewhere to eat and We We hadnt had Cheddars In a while ao Cheddars it is. We decided to call in our order and go pick it up. The place was packed as usual not many parking spaces available so we parked in thw pickup slots. Once we arrived we had a short wait for our order. The cashier was friendly and courteous. As we paid for the order we noticed the steak was well done instead of medium well but that was okay not a big deal. Once we got home everything was delicious. I got the Chicken Fried Steak with Corn and Red Beans and rice. The red beans and rice were delicious. Well seasoned and tasted like homemade. The Chicken Fried steak was huge and The corn was also good and sweet. We got a order of onion rings and they are always delicious. My Fiance got the 6oz steak with green beans and French fries with a order of Croissants. Everything was absolutely delicious as always. I love Cheddars definitely a favorite while visiting Beaumont Texas.
Waitress Crystal M was gruff, took our orders, read them back to us then turned them in wrong. When my wife asked to have her steak cooked more, to well done, she got it back, still not cooked much more, after 10+ min, and it was peppered this time so heavily that portions were still uneatable. I was new years day so my wife still tipped over 15 percent. We are not happy with our dining experience.
SO SAD !! This used to be one of my Wife and mines favorite places to go. Went there last night for her Birthday and it was so disappointing . Even before we went in, Trash EVERYWHERE in the parking lot , Palm tree fronds blown and laying everywhere like a cat 5 just blew thru . Landscaping was a disaster. Then when we walked in the door , a sour smell just hit you in the face like a landfill . Dirty tables , Dirty floors , need I go on ?? Our waiter was great though , but it didnt make up for everything else . Whoever owns this place needs to get on these problems . Its HORRIBLE!
Our server Mia was the only ray of sunshine to an otherwise gloomy dinner. The ribs was hard and dry! When my plate was returned my baked potato had been replaced with some kind of mixed veggie that I didnt ask for. When I complained to the manager she said shed make it right. All that was done was $9.00 removed from a 88 dollar bill plus tip. Not happy!
Arrived at cheddar from out of town at 6:30. People were waiting for tables that were not being cleaned.we sat down and waited 15mins for a server to take a drink order then 20mins later got our drinks. They didnt have items that were on the dinner menu,and when we settled on what they had, it was dry and took close to 1hr to be served.the tables around us were loaded with dirty dishes ,we watched for over1 1/2 hrs and staff still walked pass the dirty tables.the Resturant was not that crowed to start .being a traveler. Just passing thru Texas on our way to Florida.
Foods good but my problem is that they dont work as a team. If you tell me that the other server is helping with a party pick up then slack. I asked for a refill and she told me she would get it but didnt ask me what i was having and walked passed me then avoided me for 15min until my server finally shows up.
This was one of my favorite places to go. The past couple of experiences have not been good. Today we went for a late lunch around 1:45 pm. We were told 15 min wait. No problem. As we waited we witnessed 3 different waitresses come tell the hostesses that they had room for more people. The hostesses were unprofessional and clueless on how to seat people. There were several empty seats with a lot of guests waiting. Once we did get seated our waiter was very nice and prompt, however the chicken fried chicken was greasy and tasted funny. I ordered grilled chicken that was placed on a dirty plate, it had left over residue on the plate not even the same color as my food. We didn’t complain are make a huge fuss that’s not me but needless to say I didn’t eat it. I’m really super disappointed and probably will not return. We have ate there since they opened. It’s really sad how much it has gone down and how some employees don’t take any pride in doing there job. I know it’s happening everywhere but someone needs to take control or their employees and dishwashers for sure.
Avoid this poorly run location... I should have followed my gut and run when the parking lot was nearly empty while all other restaurant lots were nearly full. Secondly, I ignored the off odor that greeted me at the door. Service was okay, but the food was mediocre at best. After finishing my meal, I used the restroom. I wish I would have done this before eating The filthy conditions would have been strike 3 and I would have dined elsewhere. If what I can see is filthy, how filthy are the parts of the restaurant I cant see?
Great place to take the family out for dinner. Real nice fish tank for the kids to enjoy. Stuff kids like to eat like nachos or believe it or not spinach dip.. my kids tear it up. Steaks are cooked correctly most of the time. Lemon pepper chicken is really good. Not too expensive for what you get.. which is quality food with a relaxed atmosphere.
Host was not very pleasant although did greet us at the door. Waitress was very nice and helpful. Food was good. The cleanliness of the mens bathroom left me feeling like I needed a tetanus shot after walking in there. Water standing and not sure what was in the sink but did not look or feel clean.
Normally I enjoy myself EVERY TIME I come to @cheddarskitchen but today not so. These MFs actually had nerves to bring me my tilapia, shrimp, mac n cheese n tell me my steam broccoli will be out shortly that was at 8:09p. Its 8:26p still no broccoli but my tilapia, shrimp, fried rice is all gone. Da cook tonight needs to be slapped for stupidity tonight cause they should know to start broccoli before starting to cook any other part of order. You would think bartender would call manager over then or later when I asked for check but nope she act like nothing happened smh.................
I would give zero stars if I could. Sad excuse for a restaurant. I placed a to go order and when I arrived, I called to let them know I was there and gave them my name. They had me wait a whole 30 minutes just to come outside and tell me that they never put my order in. Complete waste of time. The time before that they left a whole meal off of my order. Every time I have dined in the last couple of years the food has been cold, croissants have been hard and burnt after waiting a long time. This restaurant has seriously gone downhill and they will never get another penny out of me. Do better!
I havent been to a Cheddars in probably 20 years. They had great service as fast as good environment prices were on par my only complaint is that my food was cold which is strange concerning how fast it came out. Ill definitely give them a second try I was good environment and good service
Waiter sucked so bad I got my salad after my meal. The table next to me was hers and they waited for service at least 15 before she said anything so I ask if she was going to help them. In a dumb founded comment I will get to them in a minute. I dont tip rude waiters. Or ones that doesnt check back on there tables.
Great food with more than reasonable pricing. The hostess a younger male did not say a word to us from the time we got in until he left us at our table and seems as if he hated his job. I even thanked him and he said something indistinguishable under his breath and walked away. Other than that service was ok food exceptional.
3 thank you very much cheddar you gave great service the hostess when we first walked in she was amazing my waitress the kitchen was backed up with to-go orders I want to thank them not everybody is patient but I love Cheddars and I appreciate all your hard work not everybody has a chance to be like that and just food is always delicious and will always come back
The beginning of the service was great. That ended once we received our appetizer, and ordered our entree. At that point a party of 9 walked in, had their order taken, drinks served, cocktails served, appetizer served, all by our server. At this point our server came by with drink refills. It was another 20 minutes before our meal came, delivered by a different server, and we had to ask for our salads and utensils. The food was lukewarm and still no drink refills. I waited another 20 minutes after I was done eating before asking a hostess for the manager. The manager explained that their POS system was down and proceeded to calculate our bill, but did offer to give us free drinks. Disgusting experience.
The food was good, service was great, BUT the bathrooms were horrible. They needed a good scrubbing. The stall doors were really gross. Im not sure what was all over the middle stalls door but I tried not to look closely. Please get a commercial cleaning service to stream clean everything, grout, walls, sinks, etc. My boyfriend thought the mens room needed cleaning also.
The food was great, we had the Chicken Pot Pie with Broccoli Rice and Cheese, but dont go after 9 and expect to get what you want. I wanted a Monti Cristo, but they didnt have anymore, my friend wanted the New Orleans pasta and they were out of that as well.That is the only reason for the 3 stars.
I ordered online when I got there and parked in the togo stall a young lady walked up to the car and asked me if I had an order I said yes, she said okay I will get the order ready and bring it out. She brought the order bagged nicely however one of the orders came with a drink (child plate) which I ordered apple juice. I ask her wheres the apple juice she said they was out of apple juice. Im saying to myself so you was not going to offer me another drink. Anyway, she did ask me what other kind of drink that I would like. I got the drink drove to my hotel and discovered ther wasnt any utensils in the bag. Oh I checked the utensils box when placing the order. I had fish and loaded potatoe. There was no butter, no catsup and no broccoli casserole, but got steamed broccoli with no chesse. You shouldnt have to go inside to eat just to get the order correct.
My family and I waited a hour and 15 minutes for them not to have what we wanted to eat had no sprite. Waitress was very unprofessional and basically told us that she did not want to be there when we asked her questions about the menu she told my husband I just work here. The place was dirty we had to wipe our own table on top of us not receiving any bread upon us being seated also took 15 minutes for our drinks we decided to just get our appetizers and leave which was just spinach artichoke dip and that took 20 minutes. Will never go to this location again. Staff needs to be retrained or fired as well the manager that tried to make excuses for their unprofessionalism also she did not know how much change to give us back from 40 dollars
Hated having to give even one star. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat. But we went last night and it was horrible. Worst experience with them by far. Service was slow. And the food was not good at all. And it wasnt just one thing. It was everybodys food. There were 6 of us. And we all left the majority of the food. My wife took the grandbaby to the bathroom and said it was nasty. And smelt up that whole area of the restaurant. There were dirty tables that never got cleaned off the whole time we were there. Me and mine will never go back to this one for sure. And maybe any at all.
If I could leave a 0 , I would. It was horrible. Total disgrace. I should’ve been refunded. The place is ghetto. I wouldn’t take my dogs there to eat. I will NEVER RETURN! It was a horrific experience. Customers fighting each other , staff laughing , cold food. Waitress didn’t bring anything requested. I haven’t had a worse experience than here. I asked for the manager , when my plate came out cold and they remade the food and it came out the same. The plates were hot and the food was cold. I’m confused on how that could happen. Shut the whole place down and start again. Classless with a side of ratchet. I had family visiting from out of state , took them there. It was embarrassing. Couldn’t even enjoy meal or service. Please go elsewhere. Please. I’m begging you. It’s horrid. From beginning to end a train wreck.
Do not order the rack of baby back ribs nasty, nasty no flavor. Part of the meat was overcooked with no seasoning. What’s wrong with that broccoli tastes like poisonous trees. I asked for the trimming for baked potato didn’t get them . Happy now I didn’t leave a tip for a to- go order. Shut your doors too commercial . If I want store bought food I’ll go there first bf eating at Cheddars bc that’s what it tastes like.
Went in today 3/29/2021 around 1pm. Was told a 5 minutes wait because waiter was cleaning. Couple comes in behind us they are told the same but offered the option to sit at bar. We waited and the couple that came in after us was seated before us. The couple even asked the hostess why were they being seated before us. Hate to make it a racial issue but it was interesting how that played out.
Omg! I cant even explain my disappointment in this restaurant. The tea was so sweet I could only take 2 sips (my son tried and verified) our starter was cold and dried out, and our ceasar salad had bad/brown lettuce pieces in it. The reason they got one star was because the manager was awesome.
My partner ordered the tender platter and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. We also got a side of chips and queso. The salsa tasted like Tostitos “salsa”. The queso was nothing special, melted cheese. Chips and fries were fresh but my partners baked potato was the size of my palm. Her tenders tasted microwaved, I would have been more satisfied with Tyson chicken tenders. My burger tasted sour and came with none of the condiments listed on the menu. We decided to just try to enjoy the food, we have had worse. But after a few bites, I noticed a gnat eating the dressings for my burger which were put on the side for me to add myself, but most of it stayed on the plate as everything was laying on then end of a tomato that was growing some mold. I looked outside and was greeted by a HUGE roach on the window pane next to me. This was not a tree roach either. Not from Texas, the cheddars locations back at home in Louisiana shut down after only a couple months, after my 2nd disappointment with this restaurant at two different locations I will not be returning.
Food was really good... staff was great.Appetizer came out after my salad tho. .and was room temp at best.Was promptly fixed by one of the guys who brought it out...So we had a slight issue but it was resolved quickly and politelyThe young guy who sat us didnt speak a word to us...he was the only exception to the whole experience being great with the staff there.
Portions of Everything - Appitizers, Main Course, And sides Have ALL been Size Reduced but Prices stayed same or Increased some by Corporate takeover. The Cheesy, Bacon Fries are Not LAYERED but Just Piled on a plate with Ingredients Just Piled on top. Had Ran OUT of 2 sides; had to Re-ask for Multiple things and Never got the little Plates asked for with the Appitizers.
First and foremost our server, Skylar K was FANTASTIC, so the 2 stars doesnt reflect on her, she was definitely 5/5 stars, very friendly and on top of everything, as we were a group of 6 adults and 2 children and some of our orders were complicated. Would definitely return to have her as our waitress again, she deserves a raise!The problem was unfortunately with the food itself, this was my first time here as Im from Massachusetts, but my girlfriend and her family are from the area and raved about Cheddars.The honey butter croissants tasted great, I would say they definitely had way too much butter sauce on them, but the piece I ate with less sauce tasted great.My girlfriend and I ordered the spinach dip to share with everyone, but no one else wanted any once it came so just the two of us ate it. It didnt taste flavourful, like there was no seasoning, and all of the spinach was sitting on the bottom (which we didnt realize) and the cream, cheese and everything else was sitting on top. We took the rest home (I hate to let any food go to waste) but sadly it will probably get thrown out.My side Caesar came out drenched in dressing and I couldnt eat it so I asked if I could get one with the dressing on the side and Skylar immediately returned it and brought me a new one. The romaine leaves on my new salad were old and some were already turning so I tried to just pick them out and eat the leaves that looked ok.My girlfriend ordered the veggie platter, for her 4 sides she chose the broccoli casserole, steamed broccoli, carrots and green beans. The broccoli casserole didnt taste seasoned at all and the steamed broccoli was undercooked, it tasted hard like raw broccoli. Her green beans and carrots tasted ok though. She also had a side of the potato soup, but it has bacon in it (she doesnt eat meat) so I tried to eat it, but it tasted exactly like Campbells potato bacon soup from a can, not fresh made, and then they just put some shredded cheese and bacon on top as a garnish.Her mother also ordered the veggie platter, she chose green beans, corn off the cob, carrots and a loaded baked potato with a side salad. The side salad was ok as well as the green beans, but her carrots and loaded baked potato tasted over cooked and dry and the corn tasted like it was from a can.I ordered the half rack of ribs with chicken fingers platter, I wanted to do half ribs half fried chicken with gravy (most big chains offer this combo) and told Skylar she could up-charge me to do it, but she said they cant so I asked for a side of gravy with my chicken fingers. My ribs were burnt on the outside and dry on the inside and drenched in sauce to cover up the char, I ate a few bites and brought the rest home for my dog, maybe. The chicken fingers had no flavor or seasoning either and the side of gravy was room temperature and already starting to thicken, also had no seasoning or flavor. I got a loaded baked potato and coleslaw as my sides, the coleslaw tasted fine, but the baked potato was dry as well so I requested a side of butter and sour cream to hopefully liven it up when I get home later.I hate to leave reviews like this especially during times like these when theres so much extra going on with restaurants to be open properly, but working in the service industry myself for 15+ years I understand that you must have pride in what you do and food and drink quality along with customer service must be top priority. I hope management reads this and can make the proper adjustments and improvements, and give Skylar a raise! She deserves it!
Terrible service today. Server seemed to disappear. A second server finally took our order. We ordered onion rings and didnt get them for about 45 minutes when normally its about 5 minutes. I finally asked the hostess to send a manager to our table. The manager didnt come. We had to constantly request drink refills. The server never remembered what drinks we had and didnt bring out the one salad we ordered. After being there for 1 1/2 hours, our food came out. Five of the eight meals had mistakes. We asked again to see a manager and one finally came to our table. My wife told him all the problems we were having. I think he explained something about new ownership but did admit that was no excuse. He did help with the service, he did apologize and he discounted every meal 50%. I appreciate the discount but I would rather have the good service and correct meals. Thats why we go there.
Our waiter was very good but we sat for 15 minutes and no one took our drink order. It turned out that we were sat in a section with no one assigned to it and the waiter next to our section went and asked if they had someone coming to serve us or of he was supposed to once he realized we still didnt have any drinks. Then they wanted us to move to a completely different section and doing that with 4 little kids is not easy. The waiter ended up taking our table even though I think he was supposed to go home which is why they are getting 3 stars.
Well, it’s was recommended, so...what the heck! Our server was kind of unfriendly, but that can be forgiven. We were told additional rolls would be a buck a piece. We decided against it and he brought them anyways. I asked for Catsup, I was half way through my burger and still none. I spotted a bottle on the wait station, so I got up and got it myself. We finished eating before he showed back up. I really want to know WHY the shrimp tails are left on, in a dish that you gotta eat with a fork. It’s really kind of hard to watch someone struggle to remove the tails, when it would be so easy to remove them in the kitchen. My daughter used the restroom...when a teen is freaked out by the state of the restroom, ya’ know there is a huge problem. The tables look worn, which it too bad, they were probably beautiful under all the scratches. The skylights were very dirty on the outside. This place needs training and a good cleaning.
I would NEVER give this location another chance due to “Manager” whom acted NOTHING like one. Totally unprofessional. It was a wait if 30 min, which turned into 45 min. I was totally understanding. Had to go inside and ask when we would be seated and she said she was cleaning off a table for us. So we get seated by the bar. Waiting literally 10 min for someone to come take our drinks. I said NOTHING, and was trying to be understanding seeing as they were busy and probably under staff. But then I ask to speak to a manager she comes over and starts making excuses that they’re under staff. She then walks away from me.. I didn’t know if she was coming back or what. Five minutes later she comes to my table with a horrible attitude saying she is serving us because they’re understaff which she already stayed she sets the drinks down abruptly. Everyone sensed her attitude I was with my mom and daughter then she’s asking if we’re ready and I said no we need a few min and I’m telling my mother we need to wait to order we are waiting for our appetizer and she’s like well I can still take ur order she’s rolling her eyes giving complete attitude. She made us feel totally uncomfortable who the heck wants to stay somewhere and be served with someone treating you as tho you’re a burden. I’m sorry lady you actually had to Work. If you’re understaffed you should’ve been on the floor helping your staff. You’re obviously unprofessional and lazy and I’m not spending money like that to be treated horrible. She needs to be fired I never understand how someone with such horrible customer service can become manager. Pathetic
I really enjoyed the experience I had at this location. In life I have recently graduated to where my GP is regulating my diet and was afraid I would not be able to find anything appetizing to eat. I had the lunch blackened catfish with a double side of steamed broccoli and it was absolutely wonderful! I was wishing I had had the bigger portion then, but was stuffed to the gills by the time I was finished. Our server was so polite and quick, which put the fifth star on my review.
Went here Sunday and ordered the New Orleans pasta.....I waited for 2 hours and it was the worst I ever ate I usually never order pasta anywhere I go eat at . The noodles were hard and it tasted like a can of tomato sauce was dump on it smh they usually do better idk what happened recently.
This place is always great but this time they forgot to give us croissants. This was my review 3 months ago........ today May 5 I day after going a few time, today I say Cheddars is not what it used to be. For the third time in a row ribs were dry, and look like they were frozen and reheated. Lemon Chicken same very dry. Today I found a piece of metal in my tortilla chips. I told the server and he took it away I never gave us a replacement or a wow so sorry. Didnt get salt on my margarita like I asked, never really came around to see if we needed any mor drinks or refills. Wait around after asking for silverware twice and on the 3rd time they said they were waiting on clean silverware. So yes bad service and bad food. What happened to you all there Cheddars...... we dont think of going again and my friends are saying the same. We gave up. Its rare I post a bad review but this was just to much now.
Even on the busiest days & times Cheddars has outperformed in speed, attention, & courtesy. They are always a step ahead to make things right quickly. You can tell all workers from mgmt to the sanitation helpers they think fast & help each other help each other which is a huge plus when serving a customer. Unfortunately, during a global crisis customer service tends to lack in more places than one, but here... excellence is their foundation & expectation. Im an evacuee from Hurricane Laura & Delta & Im always blown away with their service & professionalism. Thank you for everything. Remain safe & keep up the great work. Fantastic job!
We usually come to Cheddars once a week and one night (04/12/19) was the best surprise for us. As usual, we were guided by welcoming front leader to the table at the center of the restaurant and our server Mr. Kaleb came to our table then. He was the best waiter I have been met at Cheddar’s. He knew exactly when and how to take care of his table. Usually waiter/waitress asking us: “Every is OK?” and then gone quickly, acting like they were super busy (and yes, they were very busy, and I totally understood it). Kaleb did not follow that way, instead, he looked at our table very often to assure everything was OK, like proactive without disturbing our talk. As a result, he helped us refilled the drink, added more napkins, put our check at the end without asking from us. I did not fill any moment that he interrupted our meal or time and I felt very very comfortable during this time at Cheddar’s. I am very glad that Cheddar had such wonderful server, and this is my first time writing a review to honor my server.Actually, we came a week after for dinner again (04/19/19). I asked the front leader if we can let Mr. Kaleb to serve us and was told that it was not allowed to switch table once you sit down. So, we placed our order and after that, Mr. Kaleb recognized us and showed his greeting to us. I cannot believe he still remember us since this store was supper busy. I would like to continue come to this store as always.All in all, Cheddar’s at Beaumont is always our first choice of restaurant for enjoying dinner!
If I could give it ZERO stars, I would! Everything tasted like it came out of a can, a box, or was frozen and had been reheated! I was unable to chew whatever it was they were calling chicken fried steak. The only reason they MIGHT deserve the single star given, is because they comped the meal off the ticket.
Waitress too busy filling condiments to wait on us when we were seated. Took her almost 10 minutes to finish and come over to our table. The table was sticky. My wife asked her to wipe the table to get the sticky stuff off. Instead of re-wiping the table, the server looks at her and says, I just wiped it down a few minutes ago. We just looked at each other, and my wife asked for extra napkins. Then my wife proceeded to WIPE DOWN THE TABLE HERSELF after the waitress brought the napkins. The food was pretty good, just couldnt get past the initial dealings with the waitress.
Been here a few times as I travel to Beaumont. Walked in and right away I was greeted with a smile and taken to my seat. Within a minute or so, my waiter came to my table. He took my drink order and got it in a timely manner. Ordered my food and within a 5-10 minute window it was sitting in front of me. Understand at this time the restaurant was getting busy. Food was excellent and the waiter was on his game he came by a few times to check on me. I will be returning here again on my next trip here. Thank you guys for being awesome.
Foods good, most of the wait-staff is extremely friendly but wait times to be seated has always been my biggest issue here, but I am normally with a party of 10+... Though make absolutely sure at least 90% of your intended party is actually going to show up - because they will not seat anyone until that number arrives. Seems a little stupid to loose money over 1 person not arriving, but I guess they have their reasons.
Despite recent negative reviews, my husband and I went and had a very pleasant dinner. Waitress was nice and we didnt have to ask for a thing! She was on point and quick. Food portions are smaller than what they use to be but we were still able to get full and bring some home.
The waiter had a attitude then I found 2 rocks in my beans. I didnt have to pay but I was still grossed out how did rocks get in my beans the manager said hes never seen that in 15 years like I put it in there then he tried to say they were whole organic beans so that could explain the rocks I never have this problem at the port arthur location but Beaumont count your days
I will only give 2 stars because we had a big party and the waitress tried her best to accommodate. The restaurant was not busy today and it was not clean and the bathroom was filthy. I was very surprised at how unkept the restaurant appeared. A very special day to celebrate and it was a big mistake for this location!
Ordered To-go over the phone and from the get go the server was rude and had no hospitality, felt like I was calling a fast food restaurant. Told us it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. Got there within 30 minutes and I still had to wait another 30 minutes for my food. No one wanted to help us. The server had terrible job ethics and you can tell she didn’t wanna be at work. Ordered a burger and it was mushy and disgusting! Felt like they dipped my burger in water. Didn’t ever get my French fries with it that it comes with. My friend ordered ribs and it was pink and uncooked. Wish I could get my money back on this. Save yourself and don’t go here! Terrible service and hospitality. All the workers was playing on their phones as we walked in and didn’t care to make us feel welcomed. Definitely not satisfied
Like table instead of booth but the table area was so dirty had to wipe off the chair for my wife to sit down floor was gross, wifes chicken fried steak was not as good as the Pasadena, Texas Cheddars. But the chicken tenders I ordered and wife got after they took her steak back were great. Waitress was a little slow but very sweet!
Our waittess was great. It took over 30 minutes to get our main dish. Then we ordered the cookie monster and waited another 30 minutes and someone had told our waitress that it had already been brought to us. They never did find it, though the cooks said it was sent out. We told them to just take it off our bill which they did. Our waitress was in no way responsible but she was the only one apologizing for it.
Nice place, good food, but the place smelled badly. The servers had a short debate on where to seat my party and wouldnt make their mind up and was pulled from one table to another, just to be seated. The waitress was nice, but seemed new because she didnt bring creamer or a spoon after I received a cup of coffee, had to ask for both. I personally would skip this place and wait for a friends recommendation in order to go back.
Came in and I understand that it was going to close in 40 minutes, but it took 15 minutes after we got our menus for the person to come and serve us. Thats the only reason why I marked them lower then I would normally have, but the food was good. But when I was getting ready to go, they took my tea without asking me if I was finished with it cause they were in a rush to get everyone out and I didnt realize it was gone cause I was in the middle of a conversation and my friend said our waiter got it. You would have thought that they might have said that they were closing up and if we can please finish up our meal, but it is what it is.
This restaurant served typical American cucine. I had a simply french fry and chicken tortilla soup. The food was good but I was more impressed with my serve who I forgot her name. Despite my minimal order, she checked on me and made sure I was okay. Without a doubt, I will visit here again next time I am in town.
This place continues to be unimpressive. Supposed to be a family friendly place but the crowd is so loud and rowdy that it just makes it unpleasant and this has been on more than one occasion. The staff was very friendly other than the waitress that burst through the bathroom door in a rush and hit my child in the face with the door. The manager apologized and was very nice about the whole thing. No matter how busy, they should be more careful though, especially in a tiny bathroom like the one here. The food was meh. I got chicken fried steak and out of all of our food it was the only thing that was hot. Kids chicken tenders were dry as if they had been prepped and reheated. The chips and queso do not come with near enough chips for the amount of dip served, forcing customers to ask for more if they want to finish their appetizer. They do bring more but it gets old having to ask. Overall the whole family has no desire to return here. Its a shame because it has potential to be much better than it is.UPDATE: I have now become aware that this food gave me stomach cramps among other digestive complications that I wont go into detail about. Down to one star now. The only nice thing here was that we got friendly service. Not enough when the food tore up my stomach. This was the only thing I ate yesterday so it was definitely this food.
I like cheeseburgers! If you like cheeseburgers, you need to come to this Cheddars and hope you get Steven S. as your server! I suggest you also order a side of the sauteed mushrooms, they are excellent. The cheeseburger was excellent. The fries were thick and crispy, and just right. Im sorry that I didnt take a picture but when Steven sat the plate down, I didnt think to share, even if only a photo! I am visiting Beaumont and am I glad I stopped here for lunch. If the rest of their menu comes out as well as my cheeseburger did, this would easily become a favorite. I was here for lunch on a Tuesday and they had a good crowd, including several DPS troopers, i will be back when i am next in the area.
My rating would have been higher so when I order for my steak to be well done thats exactly what I expect. Its not the chefs determination of how they think a steak should be prepared. Its my (the paying patronizing) customers choice how I want my steak!!! Thank you.
My family made reservations for my mom and aunts birthday for 7pm, 4/14/18. We didnt get seated until 8pm. The manager seemed overwhelmed and very unprofessional. Our party began seeing our drinks and appetizers around 9pm. We began to see our food orders at 10pm and only some of our party received food. The waitresses forgot most of the orders that they had written down. The service and professionalism is really, really bad at this CHEDDARS. I wouldnt advise anyone to dine here, not even my enemy. This was the worst experience Ive ever had at any restaurant. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!
I love Cheddars, foods always amazing. Service can definitely be hit or miss at this location. We generally sit in the bar section by preference so I know it comes with the territory. Never a long wait either like Ive experienced at other locations. Drinks are always delicious too, after a long day at the job site its amazing to come home, get a drink and a quick bite to eat and go back home to relax.
Let me start by saying, my wife and I are big fan of Cheddars but this location puts the name to shame. The food was bad, the enrivoment was bad, the customer service was bad. I cant believe a highly recognize restaurant can work like a pig sty during dinner service on a Friday night.We decided to put our order to go since the staff was not friendly. You can see and hear the bartender yelling and arguing with the server over bar tickets printing, and they were yelling back, it was uncomfortable and unproffesional. It took over 35 mins to get our food, and once we got it, return to our hotel(it was 3 mins away) the food was cold, fries were soggy, burger had no seasoning, chicken fried chicken was bland, and the sides were not good either. I would give 0 stars if i could.
I have not eaten at Cheddar a in a long time but was happy with the decision to try it again..It had been years for me because of a not so great experience... There were 4 of us this day, we were all happy with the menu and the choices we picked..Mine was very good and the prices were surprisingly reasonable..I will be going back to check out more of the menu.Its also a great place for sports watching and hanging out with family and friends..I give them a solid thumbs up for good and service!
My waiter was very attentive and courteous! The restroom needed a lot of attention. It was nasty! There was paper on the floor. The restroom is always nasty when I go there. Yesterday was my 1st visit there in several months. I wont be back for several more months. Cheddars needs to clean up the restroom throughout the day. A few weeks ago my sister and I ate at Longhorn Steakhouse. It was so clean throughout the eatery. The restroom was very clean and had a nice aroma as well. I hope Cheddars will take this very seriously and get on the ball.
Limited menu, and I guess that is because of COVID. I got the Salmon with yellow rice. It was so good that I will definitely be back for more. We got two complimentary honey butter croissants. Our server was okay. He was kind of distant, but I guess that is because of COVID as well. Not very full, but it was on a Tuesday around 1-2 pm.
We ordered take out today. They said would take 20 minutes. We parked at the take out. Took over an hour. They asked what kind of car and they never saw us. Chicken fried chicken fried not cooked. Food of course was cold. I never had good experience at cheddars in Beaumont. Will never be back.
Used to go all the time, but the last time we went for my birthday. We understood the wait, but the waitress was overloaded and forgot to put our order in! We waited on table for 2 hours and food for hour and a half. After 45 minutes of waiting on food, waitress confessed she did not put food order in and when it finally was served after 10 pm, they neglected to bring two folks at our table their order. Keep in mind we arrived at 5 Pm that night. We asked for ticket and they had the meals on it that were not served! It took another 30 plus minutes to straighten that out. We had to go through a drive through to feed the other folks. One was my 8 year old daughter who was in tears from the experience. We have and will never go back. I do think Beaumont one is unique with such issues. New manager that looked 12 years old.
Me and my girlfriend go out to eat alot and the service here is usually pretty good. But tonight we had an excellent waitress that goes by the name of lishanda. We got our drinks fast, appetizer really fast, and 5min later our food was already out. She was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. Will continue coming here.
Great service makes up for how they have gradually, yet significantly, cut down on the portions they serve.. and the drinks are watered down too much, as well but they definitely did an upgrade on the quality of service they provide. Thats EVERYTHING in todays society, where poor customer service is the new norm, and stale food has become an expectation. UPDATE: though I no longer live in the area, I still patronize this business. Spoke with a manager, Ms Holly in regard to a family sized broccoli casserole that came with a chicken tender bundle. She was very nice. She apologized and promised a replacement whenever I was in town. I called in advance to inform that I was coming and was in the hold nearly 15min. Thankfully, I was driving access had arrived to restaurant. We went in, got our casserole & 3 COMPLIMENTARY croissants. I could NOT believe it. The casserole tasted old and dehydrated at the top and overly mushy in the middle and the quantity was abut 1/3 the amount of an original family sized. I would have preferred a simple apology. Nonetheless, I gave them the opportunity to correct a mistake/ accident bc those things happen. They completely dropped the ball and I am VERY disappointed, as we have had showers, anniversaries, birthdays, abs family get togethers there. I will not be patronizing this business again. Cheddars is one of my favorite places but the last couple of times going there the service wasnt that good and the food either. It was cold and on my steak I did ask to have well cooked but not dried out and it was just that. My baked potato wasnt prepared as I ordered. My fiance and I drinks were made backwards. The waiter services wasnt up to part. It will be a LONG time before I go back.
Explain to me why their policy says after 9:30 pm, you have to drive all the way there to place an order to go, when you are actually talking to a person telling you this that could turn your order in!!!! Waste of time and not wasting my money there anymore. You’d think in a pandemic, they’d want to make money.
Our waitress was a gem! Late lunch 1:15 so crowd was light. Hostess seemed to be having a not so good day, no smile seemed a little put out however our waitress Fatima made up for all of that. Food was standard Cheddars fare always consistent. Wish my fries had been piping hot but still okay.
Went there with my family before driving back to Houston. I’m a Beaumont native, and came in to visit. So let me start with the pothole the size of Saturn in their parking lot—no signage placed around it at all to warn drivers. If you drive a low car like I do, your car wouldn’t survive driving over it without MAJOR damage—it was literally a sink hole that had to have been about a foot deep. We enter the restaurant and are told 30-40 min wait. Ok. It was a Saturday night and they were pretty busy as expected, so we decided the wait was fair. An hour later & after asking about the wait, we (5 adults, and my 5 mo old niece) were seated in the party area at a table near the exit door (which wasn’t even properly closed) unlike the booth that we were told that we were initially promised. The acoustics in this section are the absolute loudest in the restaurant, and the area was meant for at least 8+ people per table. Ok, well after an hour’s wait time, we’re starving, so we accept it without complaint. Took about 15-20 min for a server to attend the table and another 10 min to get our drinks, 4 waters with lemon and 1 coke zero. Forgot the lemon; waited about another 5 min to get it. Coke was flat. Tack on an additional 20 min to get our appetizer with no napkins or silverware, and at that time we ordered food. Appetizer along with all things brought out were literally slammed down on the table. Food arrives, and by this time, we’ve been at the restaurant nearly 2 hours. I request more lemon for my dish, and by the time it arrives, I’m halfway through my food. Parents food was lukewarm not hot; my broccoli was cold. The table adjacent to us was a much larger party and had two waiters, including the one who was assigned our table, consistently attending their needs, and only after getting everything THEY needed, took the time to come to our table and take our order and get refills on water. We asked for our checks (my sister, brother, and I paid separately from our parents) and each of us wrapped our receipts around our credit cards to ensure that they were properly charged. My sister and I received our cards back, having been charged for the other’s food. If that was the only thing that went wrong, I would be ok with what the manager told us: that she would simply do a refund and recharge each of us the proper totals. But after arriving at a restaurant at 630 and leaving after 9:00, considering the IDGAF slower than molasses service, and ZERO apology from the waiter who was suddenly present and attentive during check time, I was expecting a comp/discount on some part of our table. I made the mistake of addressing my concerns to ANDREW A, our waiter, instead of the manager, who took no responsibility for our lousy experience and instead of caring to make things right, became defensive about all the issues I brought to his attention. If I could give 0 stars based on service alone, I would. Certain waitstaff either needs to be let go or retrained in customer service if the owner cares about who they employ at this place to represent the Cheddar’s brand.
I noticed upon yesterday that the portion sizes have split in half , my loaded mash looked more like a kid size. We were not pleased with our service ,they were short of staff I noticed, so I didnt try to complain ,but our steak didnt evan have the fried onions underneath, we were told it was discontinued...my cookie monster barely had nuts and had way too much whipped cream. looked like it was cereal and milk. I was so displeased with my favorite restaurant....and they were out of ribs ....Ive never seen cheadders like this before...
I was told that the Cheddars in Beaumont has changed that the service wasn’t as good as it use to be but we went anyway. First I went to the restroom, and it was horrible. It smelled like urine really bad and it looked like it hasn’t been cleaned all weekend, and it was 12 noon on a Sunday. The floors in the restaurant looked like it hasn’t been cleaned all weekend either. Service was horrible, food was room temperature. I love the food at Cheddars but it was ruined by the poor service all around. I hope someone from Cheddars will see this and it will change to how it use to be.
What a terrible experience me and my wife had, should of been a tip off when we noticed 3 cents were left at the table from the previous customer, dirty table no soap in the bath room, finally got my water to drink after my meal was gone, the waiter was a total joke, got pretty perturbed at my wife for giving him a $5.00 tip, should of given him 3 cents like the previous customer.But on a side note the food was great.
Went there yesterday , waitress was poor ,only came to the table to take our order and then again to bring the check. Never came for refills or anything. Halfway thru my meal I found a two inch piece of plastic packing in my food. Showed it to server, got a new meal and they compt it too . Didnt ask for either one since I was already done eating. Great food after all , will be going back again. Little mistakes happen
Very good food and friendly wait staff. Gets a little noisy when crowded and its always crowded. The menu has a large variety. From a very good Hawaiian chicken salad to bourbon shrimp to mouth watering chicken strip meal. Great desserts and drinks as well. We try and go at least once a month.
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful! My family and I was there for a Belated Fathers Day celebration. Food was great and drinks was even better. My favorite was the Mac & Cheese Kids plate. I ordered it for my 6yr old niece and tried a little bit of it and fell in love. Overall a great experience.
Always busy but the food and drinks do not disappoint. Service is spot on. I normally get the ribs but they were not ready yet so I opted for the Ribeye. It was flavorful. No steak sauce needed and tender but I get mine medium rare. Onion straws are not on the menu but they still have them you just have to ask. Salads do not come with the meal and I am not sure they are worth $3 to $3.50. All and all a good go to place.
Cheddars was awesome. Our server name was Veronica. When she approached our table she was very polite and intelligent. She has a beautiful spirit and a smile that makes you feel welcome and at home. She did extremely well for her first day and I shall return because thats how comfortable she made us feel. 🤗🤗🤗
Ive eaten there for lunch several times. I love their baked potato soup! Most of the time the service is great, but sometimes it is a little slow. Try the monster cookie sundae, it us to die for! It does take about 15 minutes to get it because they bake the cookie fresh. We always order it when we get there. Life is short, eat dessert first!!
This place used to be pretty good but its really went down hill. I spent 50 bucks today on 3 orders and there was something wrong with each order. Alfredo pasta with no vegetables, chicken with no gravy, old salad. To top it all off, It took 50 minutes to get my food! All that wait and still couldnt get it right. Weve given them a couple of last chances but were done with it. Whats worse is that it was my daughters request for her bday today and she just sat there and waited the whole time and then had a crummy dinner.
Excellent food! Great salad dressings, the chicken and shrimp with pineapple pico was excellent. Our particular server was awful though, slow, forgetful, lazy. Didnt clear plates off table, had to be reminded about missing thing multiple times, etc. Even with that, the food more than made up for the lousy service.
Went to cheddars Friday May 17 2019. Party of 25 we sat in the banquet room after being seated almost 2 hours wait time! Our waitress Olivia came in and conquered her job. She greeted us promptly took our drink orders and food orders, she held a large tray of drinks with no help remembered what each of us had without asking shortly the waitress working with her came and delivered our appetizers they were spot on! Our food was great Olivia was prompt with our refills and any requests we had. Before we cut our cakes she had the dishes cleared and plates for us to eat on. She was prompt with our tickets and they were right the first time! We had a world class experience at cheddars thanks to Olivia! She is excellent at what she does! Even though we were very picky she never stopped smiling even though we know she was overworked dealing with such a large crowd. This is how it should be when you go out to eat and she made us feel very special! KUDOS OLIVIA NEVER STOP BEING WHO YOU ARE YOU ARE GOING PLACES! Cheddars in Beaumont gets 5 STARS!!!
The service here has deteriorated greatly over the past year or so. The food is still pretty good, but that wont matter much if the management doesnt fix the service issues. The last three times we have been here, the same problems are encountered.1st time, very slow service. There was trash, a lot of it, along with food items laying on the floor next to our table. Numerous employees walked by ot, stepping over it, including a manager who walked by and looked at it at least 3 times. Those same employees then stood by the kitchen entrance mere feet away talking.2nd time, no utensils. I dont mean someone forgot to give us utensils. There were literally no clean utensils in the restaurant according to our server. They were being washed. Meanwhile, our food sat on the table in front of us while we waited about 5 minutes for the dishwasher to finish. Other tables around us had the same problem. And the restaurant was not busy, so how do you run out of clean utensils???3rd time.... no better. Hostess was not friendly and seemed bored. Walked us to the table, turned around, and walked off without saying much. Waitress was a little better but inattentive. Brought out appetizer but no plates. Had to track down another waitress for plates while I watched our waitress talking on her cell phone at the bar. Waitress number two came back and said the plates were being washed. Really? And again, the place was mostly vacant. Had to find ketchup on another table since apparently they ran out of that also.I dont know what is going on at this location, but it appears that the management has failed miserably in training the employees when it comes to service. This place used to be packed, but not so much anymore. Too many good places to choose from, and it is likely we wont go back.2 stars only because the food is actually good.
The food is normally very good there. I feel like that should be said before I say that my last visit wasnt great. They were also very short staffed. I ordered a raspberry tea....and they put an orange slice in it. They also forgot my friends sides a few times. Now again, it was very busy with not many people. Honestly Im not upset about those things, Im upset with what I ordered. I ordered something that I thought was going to be like a grilled cheese with lots of meat and very thick bread. Thats how everyone has always described it to me. Instead it was thick bread with a HEAVY amount of two kinds of meat.... delicious right? So I take a bite....and it was sweet. Why? Maybe I took a bad bite? So I bite it again....nope its sweet..it has powdered sugar in it and possibly honey. Now if you like sweet meat then youd love it...so this is just a personal taste issue....in summation its like eating an inside out powdered donut with tons of meat inside...
Quick service in an out in an hour. Ordered the shrimp (grilled) and chicken basket with fries and broccoli casserole. Received fried shrimp, chicken, broccoli casserole, and corn. Food was good even though it was wrong. Our waitress was very professional, fixed the order.
Our most recent visit was BADHad a 10 min wait... No big deal... Took our name and number and said we would be texted when they had a table available. Sat in the lobby and patiently waited as several parties came and and were seated right away. Looked at the text message and there was a link to check your place in line, checked the link and it stated we were no longer in line... Brought this to the attention of the host and he and/or she looked as though they realized they make a mistake and promptly grabbed a couple menus and rushed around a corner and placed the menus on a dirty table and walked away. We walked out immediately and the host chuckled as we left. Tried to call to speak with a manager, phone rang and rang never answered. Will not be eating here for some time and will be actively discouraging people from patroning.
When I arrived to pick up my order , it wasnt ready. They told me 30 minutes , I waited an hour because I already knew better. But it still took another 15 minutes to get my food. Once I got the food , the salad was missing and my honey mustard .......I didnt notice til I got home , I was missing two other sides and there was no gravy on the mashed potatoes, no salad dressing for the salad and my two medium rare steaks were well done......if Im going to pay 60 to 100 dollars to feed myself and family , how about trying a little harder on order accuracy. They last few times I have been to Cheddars it had been this way....quality of food is going down , accuracy is going down , and the staff while polite never seem to know whats going on. Come on guys , this used to be one of our families favorite places to eat. Now we try to steer clear if all possible. Management needs to step up and organize the facility and bring accountability back into the picture.

I ordered me and my friend the usual chicken fried dinner, he ate it to quickly for me to photograph but mine was perfect, my chicken tender platter

2022-03-18Restaurant looks nasty inside. Very short staffed, bartender was rude and stuck up. Staff is over worked and loaded down with more than they can handle. Sad to see the owner does not take care of their employees and take care of the restaurant. Things are broken and falling apart. Carpet is severely greasy also matted down. Foul odor throughout restaurant as well. Complete opposite of the beltway 8 location. Hows that work?
