Chilis Grill & Bar in other cities:
In the past couple months we have tried to visit the Chilis in Baytown and end up waiting for a hostess that never shows up or shows up and tells us to wait a minute and not come back. This is the 4th time we have walked out of this particular Chilis before even being seated. I tried to call and speak to an manager but they never picked Up the phone. I could possibly give better stars if we were to be seated and actually get to be served.
Food was ok but cold. Wait time to was 5 min. Got a waitress to the table after 5 min. Got a tea 5 min later. Time to order was long enough to drink my tea 15-20min. It was not busy. Reason I never stop here. Thought its been a while...be a long while before trying it again!
It’s always a hit or miss and today was a miss. Today our waitress was Miranda and she started off strong but forgot about us. Drinks and appetizers came out but we had no silverware or straws. After like 30 min our order was finally taken and again we were forgotten: I was lucky to order another drink but my girlfriend wasn’t because Miranda hardly came to check on us. I would have loved a to go box but again Miranda never came to check on us. I finally gave up on waiting and paid with the machine and left.
Ugh. This location was far better about 2 years ago. We absolutely love Chilis & is always are go to place (with or without kids) but 2/20/22 was awful & disappointing. Im giving 2 stars because the waiter & servers were trying but everything just feel short of medioquer. The restaurant was not clean, as I walked to the restroom I could see into the kitchen & should have trusted my gut to leave then, prior to even ordering. Our waiter was servicing literally half the restaurant, which leaves me to believe they must be short handed. We had to remind him repeatedly for the things we needed. Only 1 of 4 plates were decent, which was the chicken tenders kids meal. The salads were brown, dressing was watered down, and the ribeye was grey/white and looked completely gross ( im still not sure it was even a ribeye) The shrimp pasta was dry, the small bit of sauce even smelled sour, so I didnt even eat. We were told our check would be discounted & we were actually overcharged by nearly $40 (i caught it before paying). Unfortunately we wont be going to this Chilis again.
I walked in and almost every table was open not very many people in there at all but was told it would be an hour wait for a table. No one else was there waiting on a table and customers even finishing there dinner and was leaving and was still told it was going to be an hour wait. Left there and went to Texas Roadhouse and they only have a 10 to 15 minute wait. Which is normal for a Saturday night.
Got my favorite dish the Cajun chicken pasta the pasta was undercooked and the chicken was raw my sister also got the Same dish and hers was the same as mine raw and undercooked :( we did however get our food remade and taken off our ticket the manager was amazing at correcting the issue.
Ordered Cajun shrimp pasta was very greasy so I didnt eat it. Only asked for a Togo tray to not be impolite but the waitress was very observing and polite that even though I told her I was fine she wanted to fix the issue so she removed it off of our ticket. My friend never received his fries with his ribs at all 😂😎 3 stars specifically for the waitress...
Visited Chili’s in Baytown for my daughters birthday. We had about 16 people there. The food was great, the waitress was patient and polite with all the orders, and they came out correctly. The Manager was amazing too. It was pretty busy, but Rachael came by and told my daughter happy birthday and was so personable with her. Then she kept coming by and making sure the “birthday girl” was taken care of. It really made my daughter feel extra special. It was so sweet to see my daughter and her friends enjoy her birthday dinner. Thanks Chili’s!!!
Horrible service, i will not recommend it to anyone, is best for you to go to a better place, my friend and I we go for dinner we sit and way for any waiter to come and attend us but everyone else they got after us they got their service except us we waited for 25 minutes and then we left, thank you for nothing
If you don’t want us to come in to get out to go orders, you need to have a better system in place. Each time I come to pick up, I sit over 20 min before someone even comes to my vehicle to ask the name. Ridiculous. By the time I get my food, it is ALWAYS cold. YOU NEED ORDER.
It wasnt one of my most pleasant experiences at Chilis. The waitress must have been in a bad mood, and I felt like she was taking it out on my friend and I. The waitress washaving to bartend while also having to wait tables, so that could have been it, and that would have been enough to stress me out and put me in a bad mood. She kept making a lot of mistakes though for instance she charged us for the dinner chicken fajitas and not the lunch special, she was annoyed that we were not paying with a credit card, she wouldnt honor the online coupon for the free queso, and she made incorrect change for our $100 bill. When we asked to speak to the manager she told us that he had stepped out to go to the bank. I didnt catch her name, but its kind of ironic that a similar situation like this occurred with myself and another friend at the Pearland location. Both times my friends paid and asked me to not complain or write a bad review. Im not writing a bad review though, Im just explaining my visit to this location which was good. The food was good though.
Good food and good service. However they are very stingy with their menus, only one per table unless you ask for more, there should be one per adult! We usually order desserts ( which are very good ) but they had changed the thermostat and it was so cold that my wife was shivering. we left earlier than had planned.
Recently went to Chili’s and i just have to say some on the worst service i ever experienced. As i’m sitting in the front tired, wet from rain, and hungry no one came greeted me for at least 20 mins. After just grabbing the menu myself and finding my to go order finally a young lady comes up to me asking in the most rudest why “am i waiting on something?”. As a taken a back i was i remain calm and let her know i wanted to place an to go order. She redirected me to the to go stand after passing me up constantly through out my 20 min wait ( wasn’t even busy). I’m having a hard time understanding why hire host who doesn’t want to host. The young lady at to go was super helpful & sweet.
The food was delicious. The initial service was terrible. We were there for about 20 to 30 minutes wirh only water and no offer for appetizer or a check from the waitress. After speeking with the manager she gave us a comp for part of our meal and a new server who was fast and attentive. I would normally give 4🌟s on other days but this one was bad.
I should have known better since the wait time was 30-45 minutes but not due to a lack of tables but becauseof a lack of servers. I really wanted the ribs so I ordered the Smokehouse Combo and in the past even during covid it was so good but now I am going to start cooking everyday. The ribs were soo dry, the brisket quesadillas had only cheese and barbecue sauce, the fries were okay and the corn.... its usually the best but I guess my expectations have to be low for now on so Id just rather eat at my house.
Strobg drinks but service wasnt up to par. Put everyones tab together, mixed up orders, added drinks on tabs people did not order or receive, didnt take orders correctly, and didnt really even check back if we needed anything else. This is not just on my account, it was a group of us. She argued with me about a drink i never ordered, drank or received and expected me to pay for it, i wasnt going to do that and she said well someone is going to have to pay for it, one of the guys said they will pay for it just so we were able to leave without having to deal with all the drama. Wont be back there for a while.
I tried eating here with my family (husband, myself and our 5 kids) and got told they dont take over 6 people together so couldnt even try the place out never been there but guess they not big family friendly( baytown location ) dont know if its true or they just didnt want to seat us
Definitely dont go around shift change. While waiting they would not give us a table. We literally had to sit by the doors for 15 minutes with all but 3 tables empty in the entire resturaunt. This should me managed and scheduled better. Ive never had to wait at a practically empty resturaunt.
Tonight my fiancé and our two young boys came in to have dinner. Our server was Sara...she was very accommodating, kind, sweet and friendly. She made a dinner out with two young boys very comfortable and easy. By far, one of the best servers we have had at ANY restaurant. The food was good, but our server Sara MADE our experience the BEST. Thank you! Sara is a great server and Chilis is lucky to have her on their team.
As much as I love Chilis, always get hot fresh and delicious food and very cold beers, sadly we wont be returning. We were visiting regularly up to twice a week up until tonight. The hostesses have been very accommodating to us being that we have twin girls and a toddler and theyve sat us down in the corner and a little isolated from other guests. Tonight however, we were bunched up with several other guests and that to us is just a huge no no. With Covid still being a problem, we were extremely uncomfortable when they sat us all too close (customers in every single table around us) like we are sardines. We just got up and left and I barely got to finish my beer and I didnt even get to have a second one 😔 What happened to social distancing? That was not it. Even Twin Peaks lets us sit wherever we feel comfortable. Thats where well be going from now on, even if we have to drive a little distance. Oh well 🤷
Needed to have a private conversation during dinner that would keep others from hearing and making them possibly uncomfortable, paying extra or tipping extra wasn’t going to be an issue but the gentlemen on 9/28/21 @7:02pm said it couldn’t be done because no server was over there. Funny how when I was a server for Chili’s minor accommodations could be handled when it was a week day evening and barely any business.
I came to this location on 06/11/2021 around 3:30 pm with my mom and was disappointed. As soon as we walked in you can tell this place just does not care of the cleaniness of the restaurant. Tables hadn’t even been cleaned and plates weren’t even picked up. We were sitting for a while and our waitress hadn’t came to ask us what we wanted to drink after he was going table to table but ours and goes back to the kitchen. We got impatient of waiting for someone to attend us and got up and left. Waist of time!
Ok I wanted to post this before I forgot. Just to make it clear I have been having different issues with this establishment over time. The majority have to do with the quality of the food. You guys are slacking and need to make the necessary improvements that Im sure you already are aware of. The second is the lack of coordination on to go orders. Yesterday my order took over an hour. (Which the manager made right when I was given my order which was all I needed to not feel put out. Today however I chose chips and salsa as my reward on their Togo website I included in my order. I even saw that it had taken that out of my total. Long story short when I mentioned it two of the employees just didnt know what to do with themselves so the female with the attitude ran and got management that then proceeded to make me feel like I was a criminal trying to rip off chillis for a bag of chips. So I wont be returning or giving them anymore of my business. When I told the manager that she seemed quite content with my response and walked away. This might be a small town but too many other places to eat that dont make me feel uncomfortable spending my money in their establishments. Not a horrible place just had to voice my OPINION.
Loved the food loved the service. There was. This young woman who took care of our whole family (.she had with a black hair bow bandanna on.) All by herself .did a great job.we were seated 17 persons right away.last then. 9 or 10 minutes. No problems. Want to give a great san antonio tx. thanks to her.Great worker.great job.
You would think that the management at Chilies (.all locations) would have a set temperature in the dining area that would be comfortable to most people. It must to have been 68 degrees in the Baytown Tx location. We were so cold that we could not eat fast enough to finish and leave to the nice outside temp air 83 degrees. If people feel comfortable they will stay longer and buy more beer or drinks and.such -.maybe desert too! I understand the wait.staff and cooks get hot in the kitchen but jeez! Next time ( if there is) we are wearing long sleeve shirts and bringing a jacket for backup!
Mixes emotions on this place . We havent been to a Chilis in FOREVER When we got there both hostesses looked at us and half greeted us one of them had there back towards us, once we where seated nobody came to greet us for a while. Finally what seemed to be a manager came and brushed it off that the waitress was busy, although he was on the ball nice friendly calm and quick to take our order and the food came fast once he took over. He pretty much served us the whole meal. The table next to us complained 2 times about the same waitress we had before we even knew who she was. When our waitress did come to the table she didnt even give us her name and was busy looking around the room at her other tables to even answer our questions or give us any info on our questions The food however was AMAZING we had the Just Bacon Burger and it was just perfect. Wont be returning anytime soon unless the staff gets it together. Great job to the COOK
I had the full portion of ribs and it was incredible. I cant wait to go back. I will order the exact thing again and again. I dream about how good they were!!! Had a great server. We felt like wed known him forever. My wife loved what she ordered too. The food and service was impeckable! Stop in and tell them Ty n Noni sent ya.
The first time I visit on 01/23/2020 I receive really poor customer service from Dai’Zjah and the bar tender. The bar area was pretty empty that we were left unattended for quiet sometime to place an order. When we finally placed an order our waitress looked annoyed. Sitting there for 10 min no drinks were brought to us that my husband decided to place an order at the bar and the bar tender took the order but never did the drinks. Once food was brought out waitress never checked on us so decided to leave and go have drinks elsewhere for better customer service.
They seemed to be understaffed tonight, the hostess looked as if she was doing the jobs of 3 people. In spite of that, she was courteous and got us to a table as quick as she was able. Our waitress was friendly and our food came out after a short wait time. My steak was cooked perfectly and the food everyone else got was very good, tasty.
Service is a hit or miss here, you could have a wonderful server one day and then barely see your server the next. The food is decent and I tend to stick to the ones I trust like the Big Bites and chips and salsa. The chips are great and so are the soups! Over all it isnt to bad and if you are up for casual dining maybe alone or with a group it could fit the part.
Ive eaten here 3 times, and every time is consistently good service. This trip to Chilis, I ordered to-go.The clerk, Liz, was great! She offered me a drink after I had to wait for just a little bit. I really appreciated that.Food was great, as always.Keep up the good work, guys!
This restaurant is one of my favorites! The waiters/waitresses are always nice, they keep up with you regularly (unlike some places where theyll check up on you every 45 minutes to an hour), and the food is amazing! The only reason I am leaving out a star is because I did find a hair in my food on my last visit.
Stopped by this Chilies on 04/12/19 late at night after a long drive through Texas. We had the traditional choice of food plates we typically have at different locations. Its really hit or miss depending on the cook. But our experience with our selections were exceptional - Good Tasting - to include the good traditional margaritas. Service was good really liked the waiters knowledge on the menu. We ended up spending the night in Baytown. But just wanted to mention our comfortable & enjoyable stay at this Chilies that night. Keep up the great work! Be well
Our waitress Rosa was awesome and very attentive. Our stakes were over cooked so she took them back and apologized. The manger Shawn brought them out to us and they were perfect. He also apologized for the stakes. Will recommend and go back. Thank you for the great service we received.
The ribs were very tender...BUTthe barbecue Brisket was stringy and hard.Be careful that you read carefully on the menu because they add $2 extra for ribs if youre getting a combo.Plus I was supposed to get free chips and dip and they added $3 to my ticket and I had to point that out to the girl and then they subtracted it.
Had the most attentive waitress. She was very kind and very helpful. The food was very tasty as well. I got the $8 lunch combo (available Monday-Friday from around 11-3 pm) and chose the caesar salad and the double burger. The salad was real good, but the burger was even better. Served with fries, the burger has mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, two patties, and cheese-all in between some nicely toasted buns. The cheese melted well onto the perfectly cooked patties. My sister asked for the chipotle bowl. It had chicken, rice, pico de gallo, and avacado. It was to die for! And my mom ordered the ancho salmon served with broccoli and rice. She seemed well over satisfied eating it. I reccomend goin!
Food was good as usual but the bartender / server was a disappointment. It took him forever to ask me what I even wanted to drink at which time I said and a menu too please. I did take a bit looking at the menu but once I was done I put the menu down started playing on my phone and trying to get his attention he finally came to take my order then went to two other groups to chat with them and I even noticed one of those groups got their food before I got mine. I was just about to say something when he brought my order but by that time I was finished with my drink and waiting for him to come back and asked me if I wanted another drink. I used a gift card at the end and since I had to get up early for work I did not have time to wait around on him anymore I just left the gift card. Then there was his inability to sing throughout this whole time to have to endure.
Chilis is always a great place to meet up with friends for a drink over dinner!! Staff here is friendly and efficient. Food & cocktails here are always delicious. Service is great. Price is right!! Whether its a quick sit down lunch or hanging around with friends, the atmosphere is always pleasant and friendly.
The food and ambience is perfect for group if friends to meet and chill! It’s a best place to be for a get together Baytown!!SoAmbience 5/5Now lets turn to the food and service sectionsWe orderedRib Eye Steak was perfectly well cooked and was made to order.Salmon plate was nice too wish it was marinated to the core and cooked a bit more; flesh was still pinkThe burgers were awesomeThe drinks are on point and enjoyableThe service is fast and smart but while paying the bill the waitress accidentally charged my card more almost 4 times more but it happens so that doesn’t matter! So people in Baytown be here!
Ordered two chicken fried steaks for my wife & myself & an order of Southeastern Egg Rolls. Requested substitute country gravy (with an extra gravy) instead of ranch dressing for egg rolls. Not only did they not substitute the ranch, there wasnt one drop off gravy on/for the chicken fried steak or mashed potatoes. No gravy!
I’ve order chicken buffalo wings with the sauce on side, and the Texas dry rub half ribs with the side of roasted street cob and broccoli. I ordered it online using curbside, I’ve waited almost 20 minutes to get my order so finally after waiting for longer in the parking lot where curbside is they brought my order give the waitress a tip and left to go home. To my surprise my order was messed up!!!!! They put the sauce on my chicken buffalo wings NOT on the side so I open the other order and bam!!!!! Instead of getting my roasted street cob and broccoli they put a loaded potato and French fries! I wanted to go back to the store and return my foods but not worth it dealing with the traffic in Garth rd as it is Friday and road is so busy!!!!! I was very disappointed because I worked 12 hours a day tired and hungry but my order was freakin messed up! I am very disappointed and will never bring my business with y’all again! This happens many times not only once!!! I will also tell my family and friends not to dine in this location!!!!!
The Baytown chilis has good food and I have eaten a number of their offerings. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. My only real issue, and this is hot or miss, is the service. The last couple of times I have been in, I would have to wait like 10 minutes for the hostess to show up. I would give them a 4 star. They are off in the kitchen somewhere it seems. Restrooms have always been clean when I enter.
This location has lots of parking, the service is great too. Chilis is mid range when it comes to pricing. Great for a date between two people but five or more people will rack up a huge bill. The food options are diverse and delicious. Sliders, cheese fries, southwestern eggrolls; these are some of my favorites. I recommend this location 👌
My wife and I are just arrived in town and looking for a place to eat. We found chilis and we had a very unpleasant experience. Staff was very unfriendly, I asked my waiter to customize our order since we are vegetarian. she replied me with Im sorry but we dont customize food here. she did not give us proper attention, very unkind, and she kept leaving while taking our order. I would understand if the food is free and then she treat people like that but I wasnt looking for free food. Each time she come take our order she will not stand at our table for more than 10 seconds. That was very rude to me and my wife . so, we decided to go somewhere else. This is first time we ever had this horrible experience at chilis. Im a reward customer for chilis and I would have never expected this bad reception for chilis staff. I m never stepping into this chilis again.
NO SERVICE. Came in, in the pouring rain, with my daughter carrying a heavy carseat with an infant and a toddler in tow and no one even bothered to greet or seat us after standing on the front for over 5 minutes. The place was virtually empty, so not like they were busy. Guess they dont need our business.
My office had lunch brought to us (7 orders). And everybodys order either looked wrong or was wrong. I ordered fajita tacos and Im honestly not quiet sure what kind of meat they were made of. The food was cold and not so great tasting. No one was happy about not getting the food they ordered.
This Chilis is always nice. The restaurant is clean and the food is always good. Ive never had a problem here. If I have to complain about anything, it is the volume of the music. I shouldnt have to shout to hold a conversation with the person across the table from me.
Came in 2 weeks ago in evening very few people service was less then best I called spoke to the manager next morning Gina she stated she was sorry for the experience and she would send out a vocher for the inconvenience of the service and the food. Called week later to check the status and she proceeded to tell me it should have been sent and if nothing was received to call her again. How many time should a customer call to have a issue addressed. Will update when resolved.
Horrible service. Unfriendly staff. They Act like its a chore to check on you. Other than that great food. So if you dont mind bad service the food is enjoyable. But the service makes me not want to come back. Could be an awesome place if they hired people that cared.
My family and I have visited this Chilis location many times since it first opened, but for the purpose of this review, Ill focus on our most recent experiences.Positive observations:- The menu is varied and includes offerings from many good genres.- The food is usually properly prepared and meets my expectations (as per my experience and the menus descriptions).- My favorites include several variations of the Triple Dipper, the Caribbean Salad (w/grilled chicken), and the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie.- Servers are typically friendly, courteous, and appear to like their jobs and their customers.Opportunities for improvement:- When there is not many customers in the restaurant, the staff sometimes insists in seating us and everyone else near the bar. While their bar is not wild or loud, its not my favorite thing to have my kids near it. Personal preference and comfort thing, but hey - its my money paying the bill! Besides, the servers who work the tables in the bar area are frequently less attentive and less seen than those who work the main dining room. Im not sure why but its a consistent trend.- To-Go orders. While this Chilis is usually accurate when processing to-go orders (no surprises when we get home), the staff managing the to-go counter are often noticeably less friendly and helpful than those waiting tables. Sorry Chilis, but you are deficient in this area; I receive better service from the drive-thru staff at all of the area fast food restaurants. All of your customers should be treated the same and feel valued. (P. S. - I do tip on to-go orders).I would actually like to give this Chilis location 3 and a half stars instead of 3, but that isnt an option. If I find improvement in the areas mentioned above, I will update my rating accordingly. We do enjoy this restaurant and will return. As a side note, contrary to the Google description, I would not characterize this restaurant as Tex Mex. The menus Southwest dishes that are quasi-Mexican in nature are in stark contrast to what is considered Tex Mex in the Houston area. This is not a criticism of their food but more of what I consider to be an inaccurate description.Chris
Be sure to check your order if you do curbside pickup. I didnt get all the sauces I requested. I paid for extra cheese on the salad which there wasnt any extra. Some of the lettuce was wilted. All around wasnt that good. Its worth the drive to the Chilis in Pasadena so much better.
Not sure what happened to this Chillis my wife and myself used to come here all the time the food was good and the service was quick. This time however the food was not up to par and our server was Out to Lunch instead of serving lunch. Its like the whole moral was gone from our favorite Chillis.
Worst Chilis Ever. The service has gone straight downhill. They are understaffed. The new hostess has no idea how to properly seat guests. We waited for half and hour for NO service. Other times it takes forever to get cold food or the wrong order. The floor is grimey, has food and spills from the night before. The bathroom is always dirty and leaking from the toilets. As Lightning McQueen said It matches the rest of the town. I would not recommend this place.
A cheddar fan already but the staff and cooks here are super awesome and always make kiddo feel apart of the scene. We come with empty bellies and leave full and with a smile. There pastas in white sauces are awesome, kids pizza I often order, yummy and the tacos as well as drinks are delighs.bathrooms seem clean to me when ever Ive been there and the lighting is just right for a fun environment.
My wife and I went here before our movie date. The food was great. We ordered 10 oz sirloins with Texas fries and loaded mashed potatoes for her sides and loaded mashed potatoes and southwest macaroni for mine. The food came out cooked to order and specs. The servers and managers were knowledgable, enthusiastic, and friendly. We will definetly be returning here.
Great Lunch Menu - sign up in advance online for REWARDING perks. Staff was friendly, food visually appealing, clean store, and our server was quick to place our order, she recommended an awesome lunch item(chipotle chicken bowl - yum) and she was very attentive to our needs. We will be back. Thanks Baytown Chilis - 1st lunch of the 2020 New Year was AWESOME!
Been going to this chili’s since I was a kid and it seems to just keep going downhill year after year. The past couple of times we’ve came here, our issue has been with seating and the new guy that is the host. He has terrible customer service skills and even after a few months, still does not seem to know what he is doing. We’ve been here on extremely busy nights and had good service with decent wait time. Last night was a different story. We came in on a Monday night, were seated at a booth quickly (they were not busy at all). I guess the problem was being seated at a booth near the bar—-which by the way was NOT very busy at all. The bartender was a server and he let it show that he did not want to tend to us whatsoever. We ordered right away, and our orders were VERY simple but he got BOTH of them wrong. He did not say one word when bringing out drinks, appetizers, or plates. Only comment he made was that our food was ready fast (which it was) so he brought it right out after appetizers. Upon getting our plates I saw that my boyfriends 2 sides were wrong and my entree was wrong. I ordered original chicken strips and got their crispy version. He ordered double fries and got corn. I’ve eaten both of the chicken strips from there before, so I did not return them because we did not want to wait for our food to be redone again so we just ate what we were given. However, it would have been nice to be given the OG chicken crispers that were ordered. After getting our food, server-I guess I should say bartender!! Did not check on us AT ALL!! Not once. I went without a drink almost the entire time we were there. Tried to flag him down several times, did not bother to look our way. Need I remind you, the bar was not busy at all. He was instead laughing and hanging with the other servers near the kitchen. I Said “excuse me” very loud as he walked past us once - AGAIN NOT CHECKING ON US! And turned and looked at me then walked away. It wasn’t until another server came out that I was able to ask for a refill. My boyfriend got a drink From the bar and was never asked if he wanted another or anything else to drink for that matter. Towards the very end when we were paying, the bartender came to the table asking if we needed or wanted anything else- AS WE ARE ALREADY PAYING! The ONLY time he checked on us. Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Makes it even worse that this was NOT a busy night and this guy has been working here since I was a kid. If they’re going to assign you tables along with your bar customers, treat them the same way and maybe you’ll get a decent tip.
My husband works and travels and we have been to Chilis in several states. Its my favorite restaurant. This chilis is the absolute worst we have ever been to. We even went a second time just to make sure they werent just having a bad night. They dont care about service or food quality or cleanliness. And their signature salsa is a complete joke, red water and stale chips. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
My mom and I came in and the service was mediocre server didnt bother to introduce herself she only maybe came by our table in the 45 min time span that were there sat with low cups. Not to mention our food was ice cold to the point it hurt my teeth it was so cold and the hostess and the waiters were in the back door talking did not have good experience
What happened to their menu? We havent been here in years and obviously during that time their menu has become boring and seriously lacking in variety. Service was ok, food was slow to arrive and fries were cold. Clearly restaurants like Chilis and Fridays and Applebees are hurting, theyve had their time in the sun and are dying remnants of 15 to 20 years ago but it appears that Chilis has just thrown in the towel. The place was basically empty. Its sad but this is what happens when greed ruins a good thing.
Terrible service. Im sitting at the bar the bartender AJ finishes a whole 5 minute conversation before even telling me just a minute. Fixes my drink, sits the shaker in front of me and takes 2 orders before giving me a glass. When he finally took my food order it took so long I asked for a take out. Not to mention a couple who came after me got drinks and food before I questioned my simple order of traditional wings. I always like the food but this AJ guy was terrible.
When we were seated they put a family of 4 at a table with one chair and a bench. We had to get a second chair ourselves in order to sit comfortably. The hostess then gave me a dirty look for having to do so. He also just set the menus in a pile so we had to disperse them ourselves. They did not have rootbeer and the sweet tea was watered down. I asked for a hockey game to be put on and they said yeah sure no problem. Then they had to ask me what channel, so as a customer I had to look it up, when they could have done a search for it. And well thats what they had to do. In the end they did not even have the channel so i looked at a black screen for my entire dinner. The menus were filthy along with the card payment system. We had to ask for our silverware. So overall i wont be eating at any chilis again.
Second time going there. Ill give most places a chance to redeem themselves. The bartender didnt even greet us. He just looked at us and continued to help others at a table. Only one table. There was one other person at the bar. We left because of not even being greeted. He was the same horrible bartender we had last time. The one with the Mohawk.
We ordered the crispers, bone in wings, and rexas cheese fries. The fries and corn were amazing. Chip and salsa were good and fresh but the chicken crispers werent cooked all the way through and the wings were too cooked and super dry and hard. Service was extremely pleasant and the waiter was wonderful. I will only be coming back for the corn on the cobb, tx fries and hot chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Nothing more.
Came in with the kids it was pouring rain, was told could not wait inside had to take children outside and wait. Refused and manager on duty said we must leave and will not serve us because we dont want to put our children into the rain... was not the store manager but some bimbo with a power problem. Went to chilis in houston instead. Will never return and going to tell everyone of such bad management allowed to treat children so horrible every chance can get a ear... horrible!
Customer service was super bad if I need to rate the hostesses I would of gave her zero stars but the waitress and manager were good....but anyways the hostess told us it would be a 15 min wait because we had 7 people....but nobody was there it was a Monday night and there were a lot of empty tables...but okay we waited 20mins and nothing after we questioned the hostess the hostess was rude and said they had to put two tables together, there were plenty of empty tables but no attempt to put any together and no updates about how much longer it would be, after more waiting we requested to speak to the manager. The manager took another 15 mins to come out..then the hostess started arguing with us while we were talking to the manager..its was a Monday it was empty....will not be going back!
We got there at 10 pm and nobody was up front so we stood there for 15-20 min thinking someone will come out and see us standing there the bartender saw us when we walked in and after 15-20 minutes decided to go get the hostess she walked up was not pleasant at all actually rude and acted as if we were a bother to her after she said us down or should I say pointed to the table for us to go sit at she walked off mumbling something and commenced to cleaning and then sat down with a gentleman and proceeded to have a conversation our server however was excellent very helpful very nice in personable Seafood I wish I could say the same for you never know what youre going to get when you go to Chilis from the service to the food sometimes its great and sometimes you wish you went to McDonalds. Tonight should have been a McDonalds night LOL but all businesses have a good days and bad days just like we do we got to take the good with the bad thats a wrap
We sat for over 20 minutes before we received our drinks or were able to order our food. It then took our food another 30 minutes to arrive and when it did the tortillas with my fajitas was so hard they cracked when I tried to bend them. The waiter made excuses and the manager was rude.
Dont get me wrong, I like Chilis, but I rather not dine in, a personal preference. I gave this location a 1 star just simply due to the fact that it isnt my 1st dine in. Today I came in to dine in unfortunately, but the restroom is filthy as the past visit. It isnt my duty to have to grab an employee to notify that it needs attn, therefore I dont even bother. But overall it made me feel uncomfortable abit and then I have have ocd!!! So omg right, but the waiter was decent.
My server was great, Im sorry I didnt get her name I was traveling back to Dallas, she closed lunch today in the bar area, she was a very nice, and delightful. I am a manager at a restaurant here in dallas, I would love to have her as a head wait! Please appreciate her!
Just when you think this place couldnt get worse, they outdo themselves. Its not really just this restaurant though. The entire chain has gone downhill for the last 20 years. But this one, it tries to keep lowering the bar. Service is nonexistent, restrooms are filthy. I dont even want to know what the kitchen looks like.
Came out for dinner tonight. Picked chilis cause we havent had it in a while. After finally getting my food I remembered why. The burgers are so dry, when chilis first started serving that burger I loved it. They have gotten terribly lazy with there food. I travel all across the country and all of them have. It managed to be dry and greasy and flavorless all at the same time. My service at this particular chilis was terrible. Though I was the only one waiting to be seated it took 10 min just to clean off a table. Even though of course every time that happens you always see empty tables. It was two of us anyone would do. After being seated my drinks did come quick but that was all. Took him forever to take the order for our food and pathetically long to get it. After finally flagging down the waiter for refills he comes back with my daughters chocolate milk which wasnt stirred. After I stirred it it had hardly changed color. After finally getting my food I took a bite of my dry burger and realized it was supposed to come with a side of BBQ sauce. So as I waited for my waiter to pass I munched on my fries w/o ketchup cause that was empty too. After I flagged him down again and got my BBQ sauce the burger still was terrible I got a to go box to bring it home to my dog. My daughter also complained hers was icky and shes never had a problem with burgers from any restaurant. All around terrible officially done with chilis such a disappointment. The place wasnt even busy and the service sucked as well as the food.
Went in last night and the two hosts where piss poor ask them how long the wait of course they said 5 to 10 minutes ok cool Ill wait 20 minutes later Im still waiting plus people that came in after me are being seated ask them again how long and the same answer. Chilis is a nice place to hang out but if they have inconsiderate hosts like they have now then I know I wont be back
I moVed too mont belvieu from Mississippi back in march Ive been too most restaurants on Garth and 146 all the restaurants are good but the customer service, bartender, and no waiting time. amazing! i ordered the pick your combo deal and chose the salmon and fried shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. i called the manager after i left too let him know how great the experience and food was there. And that it was by far the best plate i have had since march. i would have asked them too have the cook too come out so i can tip him but didnt want too make anyone have late food. food was $17 i paid about $38 after tips
I hate Chilis! All of them! They have terrible food! This location and the one in Atascocita! I ordered a salad and the lettuce was going bad! It tasted horrible! Then my friend had a coupon for a dessert and there was a HAIR in it! My friend loves the place but I refuse to ever go again! We were also seated in a spot that the waitstaff forgot to serve. We never had refills on drinks and was never asked how things were. I dont recommend!
We came in to get out of a huge storm on our way home. They were having the chili coloring contest for St Judes and we were happy to participate. Adrian the manager was the one that opened the door for us and informed us of the benefit. As a restaurant manager back home I was thoroughly impressed with the way he lead his team. He was motivating, team oriented, and went above and beyond for all the guest.Thank you Adrian and team for a great experience.Lauren and Carrie!
Hilariously incompetent. I dont know why I keep going back to Chilis, but it isnt for the service. My wife and I were seated immediately behind the hostess in the sparsely populated restaurant and waited over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence. At 15 minutes my wife stood up to get the attention of the hostess, who ended up taking our drink order. Seconds after the hostess left, a server popped up from right behind her to take our drink order, which had clearly (audibly) been taken and we informed her that it had been taken. We instead ordered an appetizer and the server was off to put the order into the system. Several minutes later another server came by to take our order for appetizers, and we informed her to her surprise that it had been taken. We place our order for our entrees. Our drinks arrived and the server cheerfully told us that the straws were in our silverware set. It was present in my wifes set, but not in mine. Thankfully, my wife happened to spot where they kept the straws and just grabbed one.We get our appetizer and it is, thankfully, correct, my drink running out while enjoying the food. Our entrees (chicken fajitas) arrived shortly afterwards and apparently Chilis has either changed the recipe, or they were out of appropriate fajita seasonings for the chicken. I honestly hope it was the latter. We ask for some extra shredded cheese as the combined amount of what was given to us would, quite literally, only fill up a tablespoon. We waited ten minutes. For cheese. Throughout this ordeal weve had three people coming back and forth to serve us, none truly effective. I finally have to ask for a drink refill since nobody has seen the empty glass at the edge of the table, which comes after another 5-10 minutes. We finish our food and surprisingly one server asks us about dessert, which we promptly order to avoid any further confusion. A second server shows up to clear a few plates and confirms our dessert order. I think at this point they finally figured out who was supposed to be the server for the table. After dessert, the correct server gives us the check. Unwilling to wait for them to pick up my credit card and then take much more time to come back with it, I pay with cash. The paradise pie was delicious.
Yuk! I requested a broiled chicken breast and nothing spicy. I got spicy rice on top of extra spicy black beans. I explained to the server that I cant eat spicy (I have an ulcer). Having never been in your restaurant we didnt know what to expect. We won cards at church but we wont be back.
I dont know where to start, and Im actually disappointed giving Chilis a two. My parents and I loved going to Chilis an getting the chips, and the cajun pasta. Firstly we had a very snippy waitress, rushing to take our drink orders tapping her pen on her little book where she writes the orders down, which is very irritating when you wanted to see if yall had any new non-alcoholic beverages. Then my dad was feeling frisky and wanted to try yalls new BBQ platter, he got the brisket which only had two small thin pieces on top of a garlic bread with tons of sauce, the corn was street corn I believe which he loved, then we come to his chicken which he couldnt even pull apart because it wasnt done. He told some lady with a black shirt on, I think she was a manger told us, sir thats how we do our brisket here we weigh out our meat. But she took back the chicken an got him a new piece. But still paid like what, 14.99 for hardly nothing. Well be going back just for the chips because we do love those hopefully next time our experience will be better here.
I walked in around 2.30, sign said go to bar fpr to go orders, which i did. One staff member glanced at me, then went to sit down with another employee and eat, then another one looked at me and ignored me, then the manager glanced at me, called 2 of them over to a table and talked to them. No one ever said a word to me, not be right with you, hang on or anything. I finally walked out. My friend said that one has terrible foid too.
Orderca full rack of ribs not only its not the size it use to be it was cold & they went up on the price. Use to enjoy coming here for the ribs but not anymore last time coming got to do much better if yall want my business again had food fixed over when it back this time it had mud on my veggies wth
We just ate at the Chilis in Baytown and as I was walking back to our table, a RAT ran across in front of me. I asked for the manager and it was a lady, I did not get her name. I told her about it and it was as if she didnt care. All she said was that she would call someone. No more Chilis in Baytown for us....!! To bad you cant give zero stars....
Worst service ever, it sucks cause the food is actually good. Almost everytime I come the waiter either forgets about our table or wont even acknowledge us. Food is always wrong & it has to be taken back. Youll ask for your bill & theyll take a decade to bring it to you & its probably wrong too. If your into getting ignored & food coming out wrong come check this place out!
I go into Chilis sometimes twice a week, never had a problem, until I asked for a manager (Mr. Ryan) I asked for him 2 different times, and I was told HE was too busy! How would you be too busy when that is your job? Please tell me?Now the waitress was awesome (SHELLY) ....The Bartender awesome!Ryan .....This manager, I cant even tell you what he looks like???I spent $170.00 in your place, doesnt matter if it was just $1.00....... is this the way Ryan the Manager is going to act?If so I will go somewhere else, there is no reason for that!!Thank you very much,KK BrownPs. I hope this gets under control ?
Employees hang around kitchen with one of the managers while Jessy runs around the whole restaurant trying to keep it together he should be the manager since the management are clowns who are the problem not holding the staff accountable specially the manager with the funny long hair who spends his time joking with the staff. Chilis are my favorite restaurants but I will never return here.

2022-05-03We tried the lunch special. I picked the side salad with a burger. If you are debating whether to get the side salad or chips…. Get the chips. They give a generous portion. The burgers were decent. A side salad, burger and fries was 9 before tax. Great deal in my opinion. It’s not the best food but certainly not the worst.

2022-03-19I have been coming to this location for as long as I can remember and have NEVER experienced this bad of service before. My table and I waited 45 minutes BEFORE we even ordered. Also, we had to ask the waiter about our food because she was dodging us the entire night and she then preceded to tell us how she had to enter the food again. After an hour, our food came out but another waiter sat the tray down and never came back to pass the food out. We had to pass the food out to each other. Our food was not even good, some was cold and tasted old. It was literally hardly anyone here tonight and I do not have an understanding for trifling service. We even tried to talk to the manager twice and the manager never came.

2022-06-09The menu was so limited it was pitifulI wanted a grilled Caribbean salad but it along with most menu items are no longer available.I settled with their new brisket burger and it lacked any kind of seasoning. The precooked weight was supposed to be 1 lb. but the burger I received was smaller than when I cook 1/2 pound burgers at home. I thought the brisket would be better than regular hamburger but instead it was void of flavor.I didnt complain. I had a gift card for part of the bill but the terminal at the table would not read it. I had to wave down the waitress and she could not get it there also, so she took it to the back and came back a few minutes later. I finished the transaction at the table with the terminal. It just is extremely annoying and always takes longer than it should. It would not give a paper receipt as that is no longer an option unless you get the waitress that is now out of sight to get a copy printed, so I selected the email option.I left a review positive about every one who we dealt with. Mediocre about the food and poor about the check out process. I left the waitress a decent tip. I saw her ony way out and explained I thought she did a good job but how the company needs to get rid of the self pay terminals and bring back the food that made them great in the 1980s.A few hours later I checked my email and reading the receipt, the chili was a higher price than the menu. I had had enough. So I called to get it corrected. They took my information from the receipt and put me on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back in. After a few minutes, the manager answered and asked if I was the one calling about the bill in an annoyed voice. She admitted they over charged us and said she was there all night and we could have talked to her, but I tried to explain we had no idea about the bill until I got the email copy. She kept saying, Well you never talked to me. The real point is, she never went through and talked to anyone for the hour or so we were there. Yes I am upset over a 40 cent difference that really was magnified by how bad their payment system and menu have become. She said that was out of her control blaming a nation wide system outage, but that was not true for us as we were able to finish paying at the table terminal. I told her that felt like I was stolen from and I will probably not go back to this or any Chilis again. For many years we would go two or three times a week. It is sad to see something that was once great go so wrong. Goodbye Chilis goodbye.

2022-05-17We were there yesterday around dinner time. I’m really hoping that I don’t get her name wrong but our waitress’s name I think was Brooke. I explained to Her that I am a Vegan. I proceeded to order the Bean burger patty. She was very intentional in making sure that I was not eating anything that I should not have as a Vegan and very proactive in finding out whether there was egg in the patty. Sure enough there was ! I was so grateful for our waitress Brooke for being so intentional and proactive going above and beyond her job description. So from there we decided we were not going to eat there and went elsewhere. Brooke.. Thank you again ! You are a very awesome and amazing young lady blessings to you and your family !🥰😊

2022-05-29Had lunch here yesterday. A wait at the door, no hostess in sight so we sat at bar. Only a few others sitting there. Service was below par. Food was good. Cant give a 5 star when service should and could have been better. Not busy enough to slack that much.

2021-11-10When I called the restaurant to inform them that I found mold on all my big mouth bites, the manager said, and I quote, “I’m not surprised.”I’m never eating that this chilis again. Especially knowing even the manager isn’t surprised about moldy bread, I wonder what other disgusting surprises we don’t know about.

2022-04-10Chilis is our go-to restaurant for a quick bite. Love the Triple Dipper and the Big Mouth Burger bites. Our latest visit was to the Chilis in Baytown, TX and we were especially impressed with our server Miranda. She was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

2022-03-31Been here a few times and every time has been bad! Last time we got sat at the bar while there was a highly intoxicated woman selling homemade beanies to every table. It was very uncomfortable being approached during my meal. This time we got sat at a dirty table with dirty menus! We then waited 15 mins for our drinks and our orders to be taken. Our food was cold and over seasoned, before we were even halfway done our waitress asked if we were finished and offered Togo boxes. She barely came to our table 3 times to take care of us. I definitely don’t recommend, you’re better off finding another food option.

2022-03-22There was a hair in my salsa and the waitress was so nonchalant that it seemed like this happens kinda often. We didnt make a big deal just asked for a new one and she was like oh, ok. And the food was average, but the salsa was like tomato water with a few chunks

2022-07-20Good service. Tortilla chips were all crumbs and the salsa was red cilantro flavored water. Not good! Fodd was just average
