Chop Chop Rice Co. in other cities:
This was my first time ever eating here! Joe was so helpful explaining the menu to me and letting me know what the top sellers were! I was craving the original chicken and it was AMAZING! We also tried the orange sriracha chicken! I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy food and this stuff was great! Just the right amount of heat and sweet. The egg roles were on point! And the dessert- oh my gosh I could barely stop myself from only eating one it was so good! I will definitely definitely be coming back to try other menu items and I recommend you coming and trying it for yourself!
Alright, a year ago I left a terrible review of this place because of its then consistently soggy zucchini and bad service. But tonight they proved me wrong, with every part of my order on point and good quality food. They hit the spot tonight and Im happy I gave them another chance. The only thing is the food is still expensive for what you get and its not even real asian food, but if you know what youre getting and your fine with that, it can still be really good. Service on the phone was great and soso in person, per my bf. Thats the only other reasons for a 3 star rating. Thanks for the good food tonight chop chop! I hope you keep it up!
No Mas! Placed an order via telephone for delivery. Everything was really old like it had been in the steam table forever. Zucchini was nothing but mush. The soup was absolutely tasteless. Everything was just thrown together stuck in a bag and brought to me. They even forgot my cold drink. When I tried the entree which was pork, shrimp and chicken over fried rice, the shrimp were spoiled. Sorry but I didnt want to worship the porcelain god. Pay for it with my credit card. The fine young man on the telephone said he would issue me a full refund. I hope that happens.
My family and I love coming here! We are never disappointed. If you want good Japanese food without the price of attended a hibachi restaurant then I highly recommend this place. The manager, Joe Gorman, was very helpful when asking questions and is a great manager. The salads and their fried rice are delicious.
Normally do not review food. Im more interested in good customer service. But the quality of the food has greatly declined since my last review. Extremely overpriced and not very good Im afraid to say. Three stars because the people are nice. But was very disappointed in the food.
Kids under 12 eat free on Thursdays! (Dine-in only)Although our kids ate for free, the food wasn’t that great. It tasted bland and lacked the flavor of true Japanese restaurants. I know people like this place so maybe I’ll try a different meal next time.Anyways, the staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful in accommodating our children. They even gave us coloring pages and crayons. They made the experience worthwhile for sure.
The food was delicious! You cant beat the price you pay for the amount of food they serve you and the quality of it! The staff was incredibly friendly. We havent been to a restaurant where the staff actually socialized with us in a very long time, and we absolutely appreciate that about this place! We will most definitely be returning. We left full and happy with our entire experience!
We ate at he location on Coulter. Joe was very helpful for our first time here.Great food, awesome customer service! Clean environment, and from listening and talking to the manager, sounds like a fun place to work. Their values would make this a great first job for any kid. Highly recommend all the way around!
My wife had the two meat combo fried rice, with steak and shrimp and extra zucchini and mushrooms. While I had the three meat combo fried rice. Consisting of steak, shrimp and fish and extra mushrooms. Both were very tasty and the fish was very tender and well seasoned. This was our 1st visit to this Chop Chop Rice Co. Restaurant, weve been at the other one twice and really enjoyed our times there; so we wanted to try this one out at least once. Both are very similar except their individual taste in music. We liked the previous one better lol.
The orange chicken is GREAT!!! I was leery at 1st, then I tried the orange chicken and rice it was really good, and Im very picky. I wasnt impressed w the teriyaki steak, it was bland to me compared to Panda Express Steak and shrimp (which I love). Injave tried any other menu items but the orange chicken is REALLY good and perfectly crispy smothered w orange sauce.
An amazing, quick and delicious meal with portion choices in a convenient and clean atmosphere. But it’s the culture in Chop Chop, clearly led by Miguel and staffed by an excellent customer service provider, Michelle, that turned this stop into a new favorite in Amarillo, Texas. Thank you for the experience!
The first visit to this restaurant was relatively unimpressive. They claim to have fresh food, but I watched them take the zucchini out of a bag in the freezer, and the teriyaki combo I ordered tasted distinctly plain. The chicken was dry and choke-worthy, they were out of cauliflower rice, and the soup, despite being the best-tasting thing I ordered, leaked all over the bag and my floorboard, so by the time I got home, I enjoyed a mere half a bowl. Prices are more expensive than youd expect for a medium-sized carton of food and the taste is nothing to die for. However, the customer service was five stars. I probably wont go back, but the drive-thru line was well overflowed onto Coulter, so maybe my bad experience was a fluke.
We love this restaurant! Amazing food, incredible service and great atmosphere. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The manager Joe is always so friendly and attentive making sure everything is perfect. There are lighter portions available as well as student discounts. The General Manager, Tammy, has a good team in place for a great restaurant.
Just left. We had rice and 2 orders of wontons, ticket number 293 according to the one attached to the bag. The man at the window has terrible customer service. We ordered online, got our food, drove down the street as I was checking it and realized we only got one order of wontons so we went back for the other one. Pulled up and the man asked for the bag back to look inside it. Is that how you guys do business at chop chop? Forgetting my food was your fault, not mine. Dont act like Im lying, thats a sure way to not get a customer back, my dude.
Stopped here while traveling through, glad we did. We did takeout and the staff was amazing. Nice clean and when you walk in you could smell the food, which is enticing and you know it’s gonna be good.I ordered the jalapeño wonton, amazing! The egg roll was great, crispy and seasoned well. Me and husband share the traditional steak which was on fried rice, zucchini. The meat was very tender, rice was soft and moist. Definitely recommend stopping by and will return on next trip.
Our visit here is always amazing. Joe the manager is always very welcoming and always has a smile on his face. The food is delicious and quick to be served, it is not over crowded and a good kid and family place to enjoy dinner. My family enjoys coming here not only for the food but for the customer service as well.
I’ve been to this chop chop multiple times and have had great service and great food every time! Joe does a very good job of running this location, he is very friendly and you never feel left out! The food is very good and you usually barley have to wait for your food! I love chop chop especially this location, I will continue to keep coming here and I highly recommend it!
The food was delicious and quickly prepared. The assistant manager Joe treated us so nicely and even let us sample a few of their more popular items! He took the time to show us the restaurant and he also recommended food for our next visit. My fiance and highly recommend this place for quick and yummy japanese at a fair price....RICE RICE BABY!!
First time trying... first of all the cashier was rude and very impatient like he had something better to do and I was the only one in the restaurant I had questions because like I said it was my first time visiting this establishment but he seemed bothered by me even asking. Also, why are your noodles sour??? or did I get a bad batch? And I think you guys can do better on the orange chicken I dont know if you guys burn it or its REALLY OLD orange chicken because it was as hard as a rock! VERY DISAPPOINTED. WILL NOT BE RETURNING BECAUSE THE QUALITY IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE
Chop Chops service is usually very good, but tonight they went above and beyond. Everyone, from the ladies at the take out counter, to the chef and manager and every one in between was so kind, friendly and helpful. Especially since we are a handful to take care of with our kiddos. Just super impressed tonight!
My favorite chop chop of the two! They’re so personable and friendly here! Alicia, the one who took our order, was sweet as can be! the managers are amazing and always try to get you to the best deal and help you save some money! plus, the free egg rolls Joe throws my way sometimes may make me a little biased!I’m loyal to this chop chop location!
The Coulter location is always the best!!! Hector and Joe always treat us like family when we come eat lunch or dinner at this location. Their staff always makes a point to come by and ask how everything is and if there is anything else they can get us. If everything is not up to our expectations then they do what they can to fix it. These managers and their staff go above and beyond to make sure we keep returning to the original location. I have personally come to this location since I was little and all throughout high school as they always had a special for high school students. Alisha was on point with her service today 10-18-19. I did not remember if they still offered a college student meal during lunch (entree plus a drink) and she made sure we got it and were satisfied with our order. Joe and his staff always make a point to come around and say hello to all the customers. I LOVE this location and all of the staff. Night crew is good as well even though i personally usually visit during lunch before the high school traffic comes. Thanks Joe, Hector, and ya’lls staff for always making us want to return!! :)
Amazing, friendly, outgoing, and courteous staff! We were greeted with all smiles, and had wonderful customer service. The food is always amazing. Our son loves the orange sauce, in particular. Come and try the pumpkin Chopapillas and say hi to Joe! We love Chop Chop Amarillo on Coulter!!
Today was a super bad day so i decided to get some AMAZING fried rice that i have had previously. So i went to Chop Chop and let me just tell you this, Joe W was amazing! He was super friendly, helpful, and kind!!!! He made my day so much better! Joe W didn’t know how stressed or how bad my day was but he did not hesitate to help me out! So, thank you Joe for having such a delightful spirit that has impacted another so much! On top of that, the food was amazing! The vegetables, rice, and chicken just taste so seasoned and cooked to perfection! Definitely coming back!!!!
I do not understand the great reviews. My husband and I travel with his job so we eat out ALOT. We ordered late so I can see why they may have been in a hurry. But this had to be the worst oriental food weve had in years ( the last was in Georgia and we had food poisoning), the egg rolls tasted like frozen, the microwaved, the soup very bland, the fried rice should have been called mushroom rice, wow , I took a large handful out of mine...no joke. Orange chicken, WAY overcooked, hard to chew. Honestly, I hardly ever leave bad reviews but we waisted over $40! But...it was delivered on time, nice delivery driver, and food was hot, plenty of sauce and cutlery.
My experience was very pleasant. Very happy staff and good atmosphere. One person in particular that made my experience very pleasant was a girl named kaytone she was very straight forward and ready to help with anything that I needed. Would definitely recommend this spot!
I love this place! However, for the cost of $15.87 to feed one person a NO MEAT meal and just veggies very much confuses me. Then to get home and they didn’t even fill up my entire cup. Pretty much wont be going back here as I feel cheated. That should have equaled two meals after being charged and extra $1.39 for some sort of entree I didn’t request.
Im not sure if my order was mixed up with another but I ordered orange chicken. There was nothing orangy about my chicken. In fact there was barely any flavor at all? Extremely bland. Please taste your food before serving. I was very excites for some orange chicken to ight and was very let down by the quality of the order. Please get with cooks.
Had such a wonderful experience with the manger of this location (Joe). Needed information on getting a delivery to a coworker that just had a first newborn. Not only did Joe help me make sure the delivery was made, but also went out of his way and even comped the meal for the first time parents.Obviously we picked this place because of the great food this establishment continuously provides. The customer service is the reason we come back.Shopping local always shows you that local businesses can and do care about local people.Love you Joe!-Lynette Dubina
My husband and I are there for the first time this evening. Mr. Joe was very welcoming and did a great job explaining the menu and making suggestions. Other staff was very friendly as well. We will defy be visiting again soon. Thank you for the great customer service!
I came in tonight with my friend and her two kids. The staff was polite, professional, and attentive the entire time. The food was fresh cooked to order, and served quickly! Joe Gorman and Hector Covarrubias circulated the dining room the entire time ensuring each customer had exactly what they ordered and anticipating whatever someone might need. Joe made sure he spoke with each and every kid eating at the restaurant letting them know that if they ate well he had a surprise for them! All in all this was a great and happy eating experience!
I just visited Chop Chop for the very first time. I went to the one on Coulter, because it was closest to my work, and used the drive-through. The staff came to my car to explain the menu and options to me. They even bought me complimentary Won-tons! Thank you so much, Hector and Joe for a great experience. I WILL be back, and will bring my friends.
We ordered delivery through grubhub, which was super easy. Our food was delivered promptly and was very good. They did however, not get our order quite right. I ordered two steak and shrimp combos and a steak and chicken combo. We got all steak and shrimp combos. This wouldnt have been too bad except for the fact that the steak and chicken was for someone allergic to shellfish. We ordered the low carb entree which was supposed to be served on just the vegetables but came served on fried rice. Great food, just get the order right next time.
Have always loved chop chop. good food large portions. I ordered egg rolls for the first time today and was very disappointed. the dough was raw on inside. will never order egg rolls from them again. I will continue to eat the steak and fried rice it is always delicious.
We just moved to Amarillo a week ago & have come here twice! We love it and so does our 5 year old. Friendly and clean. We love their sauces that are set out and available for dine in. Joe helped us learn the menu and made our boy smile. I appreciate the chop stick assisters they have for kids to learn to eat with them. Will certainly be back!
So first time here and the manager Joe G. Was the bomb with helping me and my friends out!!! Even hooked us up with some free dessert!! No really I love this place already, good people, good music(Christian), good vibes, and free WiFi 😉Thank yall for making a place like this possible!!
Im going to say that Chop Chop is very hit and miss. I went there last week, and it was really good. I had quit going before due to the quality really falling in the past, but decided to give it another chance. I decided to go again today, and while it was good, it wasnt great like last week, with a little bit of overcooking. Overall, I think its a good place to eat, but its going to vary in quality.
Everything taste so fresh! Assistant manager Joe Gorman suggested the Orange Sriracha Chicken and I have to say its a new favorite! Great service, quick order to table time and fresh! Highly recommend and will be back soon! Thanks Joe Gorman and Hector Covarrubias for such a awesome dinning experience!
The food is fresh and tastes great! Fast food without the fast food taste or feel. Lunch can be particularly busy since there is a high school nearby and they offer student discounts. I have never had to wait very long and it has always been worth it. There are several sauces that you can take to your table to try on the different dishes.
This place has got to be one of the best places I have eaten at in quite a while. The staff is amazing! The food is delicious and its fresh made to order. I would like to thank Joe Gorman and Hector Covarrubias for their ability to manage this place and be as courteous as they are. Both of these gentlemen deserve a round of applause for the way that run this establishment. Thanks to everyone that works here. Keep up the good work and the amazing food and service.
Great service! Great food, delivered to our table quickly, hot and freshly prepared!! Tammy Castellano and Joe Gorman have done an excellent job creating a friendly environment! Thank you for the smiles and great service you provided our family during our visit today!
Stopped in here with our family of 6 for a quick bite. Assistant mgr Joe Gorman was so friendly and took excellent care of us. He helped us pick items for our kids and gave me different dressings to try on my salad. He made ya feel welcome and we will definitely be back!! We also loved that they were playing Klove on the radio:).
Super bland, watery vegetables, dry tasteless chicken, squashed spring rolls, inconsistent portion sizes, not sure where the other reviewers got their food, mine was just not yummy at all. Only added another star because the order was correct. Tasteless and overcooked, but we got what was ordered.
Me and my fiancé went there Thursday night Jan 28th, 2021. And we got our food and everything got home and ate it and my fiancé is 29 weeks pregnant and she got the Norovirus from this place never eating there again. And the Norovirus is caused by not washing your hands and their food maybe contaminated with the Norovirus
Food mostly tasted good was greasy, egg rolls were soggy. the main concern I have is that in the past when you order a full size entree you got more food than even 2 people can eat in one sitting. now the full size is barely enough for one, all for the same price. I get that they have started with the traditional rice boxes and that is fine but how can you charge the same price for less than half the food? I feel like I just got robbed. They just lost a customer. The driver was nice and the manager tried to have our next meal comped, but any future orders will still be the same size...
I placed a delivery order with a lady named Jay, and she was incredibly polite and patient. My husband has an allergy and she made sure to take all the precautions to make sure everything would have been handled cleanly as to avoid cross contamination. I very much appreciate the professional approach! Give her a raise!
Used the drive-thru experience. Very efficient and quick, not sure of the inside dining experience. The steak was very tender and the rice was excellent. The spring rolls werent all that special, but then again, they shouldnt be the focal point. Delicious and filling, a regular portion can be shared easily.
I normally go and get the steak fried rice. But, one day I hadnt got my check yet and so my friends wanted to go to chop chop and so I agreed. I sat down and texted my cousin to bring me some food later. But, the manager saw me with no food and asked if he could get me some food. He payed the ticket and made sure I enjoyed. I will keep coming!
Chop Chop has been a family staple for us since we moved to Amarillo. They deliver and they serve quality food at affordable prices. The menu is simple, but the dishes are divine. I get the 2 meat combo (chicken and shrimp are my two faves) on fried rice with all the vegetables (mushrooms, onions, and greens grilled to perfection). My wife gets the udon noodles with steak (covered in teriyaki sauce). Always with a fresh bowl of soup, and some wonton and eggrolls made to order (nothing is ever sitting out waiting under heat lamps). Joe the manager and his team is personable, and polite. They know the locals by name, and they greet every patron who walks in the door to make them feel welcome even if it is their first visit. Joe walks around and mingles with the tables and inquires if they need anything additional during thier visit. He is always quick with a joke, and makes everyone feel welcome. He truly is building a wonderful enviroment for the community to come and get a great meal, and enjoy the time spent. 5 Star is the only rating they deserve. Thank you to CHop Chops entire team.
So this manager, Joe-W-something, Didnt believe me when I said I was a highschool student and even disregarded my ID?? I should have left and gone somewhere else at that point. Tbh the food is alright, they dont cook the vegitables enough anymore though. My zucchini was stringy and rough, certainly undercooked. I hear its got something to do with new management and putting appearance over taste. I used to love this place, honestly. I really hate leaving bad reviews but this restaurant has fallen a few levels.
I am visiting from out of town and thought to try this place since Ive never heard of it. I was highly disappointed in portion and flavor. For 10 bucks to-go order I wouldve rather ate from Wendys across the street. The atmosphere is a lil dry. I would not eat here again. They stage the food so its not made fresh, rewarded on the stove and served up.
The food was given to us probably the quickest ever. No joke!! Soon as we ordered and the lady gave us our cups we went over to get our drinks an as soon as my husband and I walked to our table they came with our food.. they was so nice and polite.. we will be going back😁
For a long time I stayed away from chop chop because it was fried rice with some meat on top with no variety. No longer: now they are serving cauliflower rice, orange chicken, and lots of veggies! I will keep coming back if they keep these levels of changes going!Edit: a gentleman by the name of Joe was the one who was helping us and he was fantastic!
Chop Chop has been one of my favorites for many years, but the last three times I have been were all very disappointing. The steak is now more gristle than meat, and the flavor is nothing like it used to be. I keep saying I won’t go back, then hoping that I was wrong and giving another chance.
Fastest Japanese/hibachi food in town and they also have a drive through. My food was on my table in less than two minutes from ordering. I spoke with the manager and she said the goal is to have to have the food out within at least five minutes. Delicious and very fresh. They have the freshest shrimp in town compared to other Japanese/hibachi style restaurants.
I went in to get an order for my family and a young man named sergio was helping me. He had great customer service and was very expedient on getting my order together his manners were polite and he greeted me with a beautiful smile I love chop chop and I really enjoy the experience I have with employees like sergio
First off, no matter what mood you are in the staff will always cheer you up with their pleasant and personable personalities. The atmosphere is very warmering and inviting to seat down to have a relaxing lunch and/or dinner. Tammy Castellano and Joe Gorman are astonishing people who manage this Chop Chop and they always come out to the lobby to talk to the customers when they can. The staff always greet people when they come in and say thanks for coming when people leave. We always get treated like friends when we come here to eat. The cooks are amazing cooks and the food is always astonishly seasoned for the taste buds. If your in Amarillo (Tx), then you must stop here for some fast Asian food that does not taste like fast food at all. Enjoy filling your tummy with yummy food and relaxing in a comfortable atmosphere. I would give this restaurant a 10 if the stars went that high.
It was terrible. I tried to call in for a delivery order, I had to repeat myself multiple times. I attempted to order beef fried rice and was told I ordered steak fried rice. Which I corrected them and said I wanted beef fried rice. Their response was Thats the same thing. ??? Really.... I will never eat at Chop Chop again. I definitely dont recommend them.
Where to begin: the flow of this wannabe-trendy restaurant is horrible. You walk in and are greeted by employees at cash registers asking for your order but theres no menu to look at??? After asking where the menu is, they say its on the other side of the wall??? Who designed this place?? So then you order and youre lucky if they remember everything. I had to ask to get my drink cups (20oz is the largest they have - are you kidding me?). Now to the food: its just slathered in soy sauce. The chicken is overcooked and dry. What they call teriyaki sauce is just soy sauce and pineapples. You could literally make this at your home and itd probably taste better. Steer clear of this place - there are way better choices out there for you
Drove over an hour after work because my daughter really wanted to see the magicians that were performing tableside at a facebook event. We arrived about 10 minutes before it started and were only one of a few people in the restaurant at that time. Both magicians stayed with each other until more people showed up then they split up but not once did they come say anything. We had another 20 minute drive to get home so we just left. For spending $20 the food wasnt that great. Chopapillas were awesome though.
Went to visit family in Amarillo. We all decided to go to Chop Chop for lunch. Absolutely the best choice. We all ordered teriyaki chicken, and eggrolls. Even the lighter portion was filling! The prices were decent, as well. Loved the orange sauce and sweet & sour mixed with my chicken and fried rice! Our kids loved the egg rolls. Will definitely return on our next trip to Amarillo!

2021-09-25Unfortunately, our experience at Chop Chop was disappointing. While driving through Amarillo we decided to find the highest rated restaurant we could and eat there. Considering that this place had a 4.7 rating with over a thousand reviews, we had to find out what this was all about! But having tried it, I cant imagine how this restaurant was rated higher than everywhere else. Dont get me wrong, its an okay fast food Chinese place, but the food we were served was bland, overcooked, and not particularly tasty.I had the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with fried rice, but they forgot to bring the teriyaki. When I did get some teriyaki sauce, it was as runny as water and it did nothing to add flavor to the overcooked chicken or the flavorless rice.Outside of the actual food quality, the rest of our experience was not great either. There was a pricing discrepancy between the menu on the wall and what the register attempted to charge, the staff was new and not very aware of the menu or processes, and we were even bugged by flies at the table.I cant give more than 3 stars, and I feel thats a little generous. We were left wishing we had tried another local establishment because I dont think this can be representative of the top restaurants in Amarillo.

2022-03-30I ordered fish with noodle, they gave me Udon noodle. Fish was good, but the udon was not good.

2022-03-04If I lived in Amarillo, this would be my go-to for healthy and completely delicious food (the two aren’t always found together!). But if you’re driving through on I-40, it’s a short trip off the highway and totally worth it. We had the orange chicken (full of a variety of veggies) and salad with really fresh mixed greens, grilled chicken and mushrooms, mandarin orange slices and fab dressing. Fast and fabulous!

2022-05-13My sweet daughter offered to buy the family dinner tonight and unfortunately she spent 40 bucks for either really old or overcooked chicken. I got the new orange siracha chicken and the kids got orange chicken. This has either been sitting there under a light for the last 3 or 4 hours or its over cooked. Its chewy, dry and tough. I ate half and threw the rest away. Very disappointed. Kids concur. Theirs isnt good either.Review Follow-Up: The owner reached out to us the day we made our order and left this initial review. Beth was very courteous and professional. It was important to her to get all of the details so that she can ensure her staff is following the standard operating procedures and recipes she has outlined. She also took appropriate steps regarding the bill. She clearly holds her customers in high regard as well as the food that comes out of her kitchen.

2021-07-24I really wasn’t expecting much above average and I was so wrong—this is totally going to be a new go to spot for us. The food is quick, delicious, and they’re able to make most their options gluten free!! I’m still not over how good the food is!! The price was also SUPER reasonable—all around 10/10!

2022-07-16I love Asian food and love the chop shop in Phoenix, if these are even related but this was the worst Asian food Ive ever eaten. I ordered the 2 meat chicken and shrimp and will never again. The chicken was so dry and tough its obvious it had been sitting around for awhile and not trash. The schri.p was also overcooked and like chewing on a piece of rubber. The meal had so zucchini in it that it was hard to eat it. The Terriaki sauce was like colored water. In town visiting family and heard the food was good and the place to go. We ordered on-line and the food was earlier then predicted but was beyond awful. If we had eaten in restaurant I wouldve taken it back and not paid for it. Panda Express has never been this bad and you need some sort of quality control in effect to prevent this from happening. I would think most people would have better expectations than this.

2021-06-17First time even hearing about this place. I wish we had this in our home town, it was fast and phenomenal. Come to think about it, maybe I wouldnt want one in my hometown, because I would be eating there all the time. We sampled most of the sauces. My favorites is the orange chicken sauce and the sweet chili.

2022-05-22*Edit*Owner: Yall have been charging higher prices than your menus since at least 4/28/22. Not good. The food is good, but they need to update their prices on the menu. 👎🏻

2022-07-19I mean I love chop chop dont get me wrong but if ur out of something just tell me ur out I get home all excited to tear up I to my three meat combo of chicken shrimp and pork and I have no pork but this weird sad fish thing that just isnt it for me.... 😔 still eating the rest of it but that was such a let down.
