Ive worked here for over a year now. I was surprised to read 2 recent negative comments. Everything on those negative comments are not true. It was sad to see that. Christian Care has been going through some changes and everything has gotten better since they have weeded out the bad staff. Other employees have taken upon themselves to lie about Christian Care. Our chef is wonderful and she puts her heart into everything she does. She is a great chef and baker. She CARES about what is being served to our residents. Our Chef serves GREATNESS!! If werent able to have fresh produce with our main vendor. She made sure we got FRESH produce from a different one twice a week now. We care about the residents and we want whats good for the residents and the Community. Chef has been a wonderful boss and our E.D is a great too, he is caring and he is hands on in every department. I wish all the past employees the best. It was shocking when I read the lies they said about our community especially our Chef. It was immature to spread lies just because they werent a good fit.We are a GREAT Community!! This a GREAT place to work this a GREAT place to live. Our CHEF is AWESOME Our E.D is Caring and Professional. We put our residents first!! ❤

Very impressive staff and residents. They take the time to learn your name and greet you. Second day here and I had residents walk up and say You must be Jeff and introduce themselves. In many ways I stand out like a sore thumb but everyone has treated me with dignity and respect.

I have worked here for a year, I wouldn’t recommend anyone one to move into this place. It isn’t worth the money, trust me. No ac during the summer. (Poor residents) The chef isn’t even a real chef, more like a wanna be. For someone who has work with professional chefs in Dallas/Fort Worth she is unheard of. According to the chef they’re unable to purchase produce/products because of how much they owe. I was told by the chef this committee purchases and runs with it without paying for it. So the residents are served left overs (frozen left overs from weeks ago). POOR QUALITY FOOD. I might just report to the EEOC for the poor work environment and The Health Department for the roaches/disgusting kitchen. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to work here, Chef isn’t mentally stable. (Compulsive liar, cries under pressure, judges color) I was informed words are rumors but it’s 100% facts. It is just secrets coming to the light. (Thank you for responding back, but I will not give a call. You let a chef speak of rumors which I was inform every single issue that is spoke of in the everyday director meeting. She reports negatively on the main director for not doing his job, as well with the nurse. Big concerns that ppl need to know. I feel disrespected for the chef to claim I spread stories when the chef was crying out for solutions from just a server because she claims y’all fail at everything. She confirmed that y’all neglect residents well-beings and concerns.) (thank you LIV for the detail/untrue comment. I never wanted a promotion, chef already introduced me as manager. It’s pretty HYPOCRITICAL that you speak of DRUGS on another coworker WHEN CHEF IS 100% OKAY with it, INCLUDING HERSELF and HER PARTNER UNDER THE INFLUENCE around her OWN kids. I left because of how chef disrespected residents/employees and wouldn’t keep her negative comments to herself, making work a hostile environment) Im tired of y’all disrespecting me after the hard work I showed. Chef was going to FIRE LIV for the poor cooking, not to chef standards, and serving the residents SPOILED chicken/other foods. Chef WORDS “she needs to be let go for that.” But chef let it happen because of not having enough chicken. To prove I am not lying, Chef told the staff the concern about the money because it was given to take care of a former manager that was let go. Chef said the former manager (fired) was financially taken care of by the company (ED) to keep silent and not call the health department. (CHEF WORDS) According to Chef she SAID she was well given$$$… ;)CHEF CONCERN was “she is getting taken care of but I can’t buy products!” My concerns “Is this the reason why we’re broke?! Why I get paid less!? The residents rent going up!?!?” (I only want the best for the residents I care for and the future viewers to be warned!)First decision about leaving this facility, discrimination! Chef will also treat residents NASTY. Chef said that this one resident is to grown to keep urinating on herself in “my (chef) dinning room” Chef said she wasn’t allowed back in the dinning room. Chef CLAIMED the ED approved it. Then Chef made fun of her to the staff. That resident couldn’t help herself. She came to eat when no one was around to avoid ppl like chef!!! Do you really want your mom, dad, grandpa, grandma feeling that way? No! I hated that day….Ive witnessed:PHYSICAL fighting almost every month here from grabbing the throat to ppl trying to stab each other. It’s very common here.VERBAL fighting is a daily thing. In front of residents, in the kitchen, to the Al/Mc toward the residents. Very not Christian.BREAK INS is a most here. Pretty scary. Two former employees to the chef. (Friends on fb with Chef) These two decided to break into the facility at 1 or 2 in the morning to wake up every single al/mc resident to sing happy birthday. It’s on camera seeing them walk into each room while a cna and the front desk turn the other way. They were in the room awhile. These two former employees were drunk messing with residents….. so on.

We placed my mom at CCCFW in 2019 in assisted living. She has since moved into the Memory Care. I am forever grateful for this place and the staff who care for her. It was incredibly hard to take her out of her home of over 50 years, but I know with 100% confidence that she is loved and cared for here. Anytime I have a question or concern they are responsive and caring. I know my mom…and I know she is content and safe. I truly believe God led me here and that HE is present in these halls. Caring for someone with dementia is challenging for anyone. The caregivers here have been called to do this and it shows in the love and compassion showed to my mom. I visit almost daily and she is always happy and obviously being cared for well. Thank you to the incredible staff and leadership at CCCFW for all you do for your residents and their families!

This modest community has been here since the 70s, and has been added on to many times, and is currently experiencing a re-purposing under new management as part of the Christian Care Centers across the Metroplex. The prices are lower than many retirement places, making it attractive for those with limited income. For the most part, it is well run, and clean. As a resident moves out, the place is usually renovated.A 24 hour gated entrance helps provide some security for the residents. There are a number of ways residents can interact, including a library, meeting room, game areas, cafeteria, chapel, bingo, and others.

We took a tour of the Christian Care centers in Fort Worth for my mother who is disabled and has schizoaffective disorder. She is medicated and stable, but she definitely comes off as mentally ill, but not in any harmful way, shes very sweet. Everything seemed fine on the phone, and even on the tour. Afterwards I called back to ask about the application and was told that they didn’t think my mother was a “good fit”. They hadn’t given her any kind of assessment or indicated in any way during the tour that they felt this way. They suggested she might do better in assisted living, but didn’t offer to set up a tour of their assisted living facilities or talk to us about other options. We have had such a difficult time finding housing for my mother that we can afford, and this place had seemed like a godsend — but we left feeling judged and hopeless. Fortunately the Courtyards at River Park showed us nothing but kindness and we were able to get her set up there.

My Mom moved to Christian Care Communities at Lakewood. I was nervous - how would she take to the new lifestyle after living so long in her own house? SHE LOVED IT from the very start! She began discovering new friends and old connections literally in the first week. When with advancing age she needed an Assisted Living situation, she could stay where her friends were because Lakewood is also home to Cummings Assisted Living. They took great care of my Mom and even protected her through the Covid pandemic, and when her health finally failed, the Hospice unit protected her from pain until the very end. I am very grateful to CCC at Lakewood for creating such a place for her.
