City Garage Auto Repair & Oil Change in other cities:
Went to them to have my break fluid flushed. Instead they gave me an estimate for break calipers, pads, rotors etc. $833! For one axle. And then a break fluid flush for an additional $145. Wow. Almost a grand. So I went to Pep Boys instead. They flushed the break fluid for $76 including tax. Problem solved.Wont be going back to City Garage.
This place just SUCKS, when I first came they definitely took my business when it was a Job for $1.5k.Now that I come to get oil changes I have to book an appointment or come early in the morning I do just that and still they cant see me.If your not spending large amount here dont come they wont see you!Sean Trip is the Store Manager always leaving theFront Store with no one to greet or help. I waited 15 mins for him to tell me NO for a oil change. They arent even busy but right away NO!Horrible location!!!
Went in to get check engine light taken care of. Autozone diagnosed it as a purge valve or cannister. I made an appt. for 9am 2/9/22. When i arrived they they couldnt find me in the system. City Garage charges $150 for the diagnostic . Fine. I get a text a few hours later for an estimate of $962 for a new fuel pump ?Kinda ironic that the most expensive part was the problem. Six months ago the truck was fully serviced and no problem with fuel pump.Engine light has been on for a year and drives fine. I know they didnt disconnect the battery and reset the computer because the check engine light would have gone off then come back on later. I almost think they didnt check it at all 🤔. Do not go to this place ! Look at their reviews on YELP and dont be desperate to get something repaired.
The reviews for this place don’t lie. This is the best mechanic shop in the DFW area. Their work speaks for themselves. They managed to help me with the insurance by calling them and taking care of everything. The repairs were done really fast. They replaced my subframe, exhaust and other components in 3 days. The entire shop makes a great team, from the counters all the way to the mechanic’s floor.
This location has superb customer service. I called all City Garage locations in the DFW area. They were all having phone issues. They texted me immediately letting me know they were experiencing phone issues but they could help me through text. I texted the issue I was having with my vehicle (low/leaking coolant) he told me the reasonable diagnostic test cost and gave me an appointment the next day!! I ran late because driving there I kept getting a high engine temperature and had to pull over to allow it to cool. They were understanding when I called to let them know I would be late. Four hours later I had a text with the diagnosis. I had plenty of questions and they answered them all right away. They are honest and reasonable. They explained each part and the importance or less importance of the work. I was able to get my car back within 24 hours. I highly recommend this location of City Garage.
Every time Ive used them its been a great experience. I dont feel like the push other stuff on me when I come in for an oil change. I also really enjoy them being right next to discount tire. There has been twice now where I needed tire work and some sort of maintenance and the two companies worked together to get my car back and forth so I only have to drop off and pick up.
Contacted city garage in the morning the get a pre purchase inspection on that same day and they were able to assign me for the after noon. They were done 30 min early and did a great overall inspection that described in detail all the issues. When the inspection was completed Shawn gave me a comprehensive summary that was very helpful with a user friendly report.
My left wheel needed repair as a result of damage created at another business. That business made good on its mistake and recommended City Garage.Oscar, the mechanic who did they repair, was courteous, professional, and competent. The repair was done relatively quickly and it was done right. The manager that day (sorry I didn’t get his name) also diagnosed the problem accurately and saw to it the job was done right. I recommend City Garage.
Had some work done recently here, staff was super friendly, quite accommodating, and knowledgeable. Repairs were performed in a timely manner, and the process was intuitive. The setup and procedure was particularly nice from a customer standpoint. Setting up the appointment is handled online with a questionnaire style interface, as easy as checking some boxes and completing the order. The technicians will send you a link to a very awesome summary of inspection findings, with included pictures of concerns or repairs being performed.Pricing always seems pretty on par with expectations. Just about everything seems well calculated for cost of parts and labor charges.
Price was what youd expect. Customer service was great, guy was on top of everything. Told me 45 minutes, got me out in 30 along with info on some things that I need to look into soon. Couldnt go lower than a 5 for a convenient spot to get an oil change. Great job guys.
Took my vehicle here yesterday because my brakes were grinding and it sounded like something was rubbing and I was extremely concerned. I was quoted $1000 which half of it was labor. When I called to inquire out the quote, I was told that my back brakes were completely gone and that my front only had 5%. I agreed to have the bank done and waited on the front because I’d just had them replaced in February and had no clue why I’d only had 5% left and was in the process of getting in touch with the company who did the first job. That company come out today and did a warranty on my front pads for free. I asked to see the pads and discovered that city garage had lied about my pads being at 5% and now I’m definitely questioning if my back brakes really needed to be done or not.. this is horrible that women are still taken advantage of and not giving the right information about their vehicles. BEWARE.. they’re clearly money hungry.
I did not have the best experience at this specific location. I went here to get an alignment, and when I got there, I sat down for almost an hour just for them to come back and tell me they couldnt do the alignment because of issues that they made sound complicated. However, when I decided to take my car to a dealership to deal with the problem and to receive maintenance, they told me the only thing I needed to do was to replace my tires. On top of me sitting there for an hour for no reason, I was lied to. I was told that they would send me an estimate through text, and 1 week later, I receive nothing.
Beyond fantastic . Our gears stopped shifting as they should on the HWYas a serious earring light came on. We’re nee in the area and brought are car to the nearest location . We felt this might be very costly. We came early morning and their GREAT manager came out and looked at our car AT ONCE. We went home as they ran an electric check . We returned almost immediately and braced ourselves for the damage. Only to find it it was a simple” fuse” . How many auto repair places are this judicious ‘, super friendly , and this honest? We were overjoyed . City Garage will be our new go to place as long as we live here. It’s the best repair experience we’ve ever had. We posted our experience on our neighborhood website and now hope they won’t be too busy to see us again:) Love this place. The owner shoujd be super proud of his people and operation!
Bad customer service. Had an appointment to get a new brake light installed and when I get there they tell me they cant get to me due to another car having issues. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. Did not bother to call me and tell me ahead of time, they waited until I got there. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Great shop. Took my car in to replace my catalytic converter and a few other maintenance issues. Dropped it off around noon and was back in my car the same day. The staff was very friendly and kept me up to date on my repairs. Highly recommended.*Edit 8/28/2019*Another great experience with these guys.Took my car in early morning and got a call back from them after maybe an hour or so that it was ready for pickup. Quick service and great communication. 10/10 Highly recommend this shop.
$150 diagnostic to see why my engine light is on... Of course I said no... They only have synthetic oil, though that was not mentioned before they put it into my vehicle. They gave me an $800 dollar quote that was easily fixed at an offroad specialty shop for $200. This place is a rip. They also dug through all of the compartments in my vehicle before asking me if I had something they needed. I did NOT appreciate this. I will never return to this shop again. EVER.
I have an older, pre-owned vehicle, and the folks at City Garage have kept it in perfect working order for me. The staff is friendly and helpful every time I come in, consistently providing both excellent service and expert advice. Whether I need a simple oil change or a major repair, they do excellent work!
Every One at the shop has always been very informative, polite, and helpful.Weve been servicing our cars here for years and have always had the best service and never any issue.Any questions we may have are always answered and explained. This has been the best garage Ive ever done business with in ten years.
Was ecstatic about the great service I received right before the holidays. Took my car in two days before Thanksgiving right before closing. I left it overnight and thought I would have to spend a few days without my car. Thanks to your great mechanics I got a call the next day that my car was ready. And to top things off, the part was under warranty and there was no charge! Thanks for the exceptional service.
I have used City Garage several times before and they always have done a good job on my vehicle. This particular time I called first and told them my vehicle is not starting up in the mornings without it being jumped or without vigorously cranking it while giving it gas.Upon dropping it off I was told by guy up front that it would be $125.00 to be put on the diagnostic machine however he stated that price would go toward the repair.I took it on Friday October 16 and Saturday morning, I was sent an estimate for the diagnostic, $136.07 for a battery replacement and $580ish for a new Fuel Pump. The total cost after labor and tax was $900 something.I politely told him that I could not afford the cost and I would be by to pick the vehicle up.Being that I am a woman a don’t know much about cars I decided to call my dad. He told me to have them replace the battery only and go from there. When I returned and told the same guy in the front my plan to replace the battery only, he tried to talk me out of it stating, “I wouldn’t waste money doing just that bc it needs a fuel pump”. Again I told him my plan to try the battery first. They put a new battery in and charged me $261.07 for the diagnostic, battery & installation. I thought the $125.00 diagnostic was going toward the cost but I GUESS NOT!!The same guy then walked me out to my vehicle and showed me that I would need to crank the key 3-4x every times before starting it to get the fuel into the line since “the fuel pump is bad”.It been 6-days since the new battery being installed and it runs and starts like a champ! Note that I have not “cranked” it once and it still starts on the dime!I feel like I was almost duped into paying $900 for a $136.07 fix! I’m not happy that a battery was not suggested first by them. I’m not happy about the estimate. I’m not happy about the customer service. I’m not happy about the final price I paid, I’m not happy that I feel I was being taking advantage of and I’m not happy with the service overall. At this point, I do not plan on giving them any more of my business.
Great service, and they seem very honest. Went in for a state inspection and they found a minor problem. However they suspected it was an equipment malfunction, not an issue with my car. I imagine many shops would just tell me I need it fixed and take my money. Instead they ran some tests and concluded that it was in fact their equipment (which Im sure they are working on repairing now). They seem very honest and I plan to be back for maintenance when needed.Edit to add: I recently encountered a problem with my 3rd brake light and they fixed it in literally 3 minutes and sent me on my way. So impressed with this place, I dont think Ill go anywhere else for service!
I took my truck in because my engine light was on. It was my transmission wire harness was the problem. I ended up having to leave my truck over night but they gave me a ride back home and even picked me up once my truck was ready. The folks at City Garage were very friendly and kept me updated with the status of my vehicle. After everything I compared the price online and saw that that gave me a really good deal on the fix! I recommend them to anyone if you are starting to have car problems! They definitely earned my business!
This group is not only top notch, their pricing is generously fair. We are able to get our odd cars fixed like our Sprinter Van and our Smart and our old BMW 328i. They have local parts connections that ensure speedy remedy. They have, because they do inspections, all the code readers to determine check engine light issues. We are impressed every time we go there. Sean, head of Service and Brad, store manager are courteous, accommodating, and know their stuff. They have an electrical wizard on staff that I would swear can read the engines mind. We love this place. Wish we could take them on the road.
I was at DFW Airport with my vehicle fuel pump not working. I needed to get home 2 hours away that day. I called at 9:00 am and asked if they could change my fuel pump that day. They assured me it would be no problem. I had the vehicle towed to them by 10:30 and they had me on the road by 1:30. They were awesome and the price was very fair. Great job to Sean and his staff!!
Ladies, dont be afraid of being ripped off by taking your vehicle to this facility! My first & last impressions were AWESOME! The facility was very clean including the ladies room! The staff was friendly and professional (at the same time😁)! From the beginning they started saving me money by asking if I was a AAA member which I am but, he never asked to see my card! (Saved $70)! I was quoted an approximate time that my vehicle would be ready, however, after that time was missed by several hours, (not their fault) he gave me an additional $100 off! That brought tears to my eyes! I am so thankful! City Garage saved me over $200 from what another repair shop quoted me! AND...they also provided a courtesy pick up service from my house! Thanks guys & keep up the great work!!
This place has been great. Weve been coming here for 3 years now. Its an amazingly convenient location, just across the street from my house. Im able to drive my car over for an oil change or whatever they do to my air filter to make it run better... and walk home while they work. It doesnt take long, I just like the proximity factor! The service is exceptional, always kind and offer explanations on a level that non-mechanics like myself can understand well. The prices are great too! I took my Prius in for an oil change just Monday. I forgot to look up the coupon online at home to print for this visit, the guy was nice enough to honor it without me even having it. After I got the oil change, I think my total came down from $89 to $59 just for mentioning the coupon! Thats awesome! He also told me to take a rebate coupon, which provided me a $15 in-store credit by mail if I submit it online. All I had to do was scan the QR code on the back of the coupon he provided me and snap a pic of my receipt he printed for me. These guys do it all, theyll even let you email them your insurance policy if you need it for an inspection. I wont go anywhere else but this place.
Better off doing the work yourself. I’m saying that from experience, I feel like I got robbed.Spent over thousand realizing this place will just take your money & mess up your car even more while doing so.If you can barely afford a car repair, DO NOT GO HERE! PLUS if you take it to the dealer it’s actually the same price!
I use City garage whenever I can for work on my car. They have been fair, do great work.Im glad I found them.City Garage seems to operate a quality shop. One of my metrics about how trustworthy a business is is the amount of labor turn over. The same people have been working there ever since I started using their services. That speaks well of the management.
Everyone at this location is honest. I usually do all my own vehicle maintenance and repairs myself. Have for the last 18 years. But when I dont have the time to do the repairs myself I wholly trust everyone at this location to do the job correctly and at a reasonable price. I recommend this location. Great people, excellent workmanship at an honest price.
Took my car in for an transmission and engine oil change, plus state inspection. They did a great job in just over 1hr. Staff was very professional, especially Brad the location manager very helpful and thorough. Good, honest people, they charged extremely reasonably did not try to rip me off like the Honda service department!!
I first took the car to Auto Zone for the check engine light, the service was free and I was told to change the coolant thermostat. I took the car to City Garage and they told me that I need another diagnosed because they not warranty the one made by Auto Zone, so I have to pay $160 just for the diagnose. Then they wanted to charge me $900 for replacing the coolant thermostat and other stuff. Finally I bought the coolant thermostat for $20 and took it to another place and the labor for this was only $60. after this the check engine light turned off.
I had taken my vehicle to the dealership twice for a check engine light and no sooner I would start driving the light would come back on, I decided to try City Garage because my vehicle registration was due, they diagnosed the problem quickly and had the correct repair done in a short time. I most certainly recommend them.
I needed to get my vehicle inspected so I could register it for the first time. They explained what I needed to know with the inspection process, planning for future inspections, best times to go complete the process at the Comptroller, and best times to come in. I really appreciated the assistance and have recommended them to anyone needing their services.
Just had my car serviced there on Thursday. Brad is awesome and helped me and kept me up to date on everything going on with my car. I would choose them for any service needed on my car. They are also quick and speedy with quality work on your vehicle. They do what they say they will.
I had a wonderful experience at City Garage. My car broke down on Friday night after the shop closed but they still let me drop it off so they could look at it in the morning. I got a call right away on Saturday morning letting me know the issues and also that they were going to be able to fix it that same day. I was so grateful at the quick turnaround and wonderful service from the guys at City Garage. I would recommend them to anyone!
I have had my Honda accord repaired by City Garage twice and was impressed both times. Recently I had my car repaired and was expecting to pay $500 according to the estimate (needed a new oil pan), but once I got there to pick up my car I was told that they were able to repair the old one so I ended up coming out $100 cheaper and only paying $400. As a single woman I dont think any other shop would have been this honest. They could have repaired the old one and still charged the $500. I will ALWAYS have City Garage repair my car. Thank you guys for your hospitality and honesty.
I had a flat tire and drove into Discount Tires next door. I explained the situation and Kari took me next door to City Garage to replace two studs. Josh Vernon made it happen and got me two new studs and also they drove the car next door to get my new tires and I was very impressed that they went the extra mile to take care of me. I appreciate the entire staff at the Arlington City Garage for saving me time and money and making it very convenient for the customer. Thank you to Ed for keeping me company and making sure I receive quality service. I appreciate that, thanks John for keeping me company and creating a great atmosphere for waiting customers. Thanks Jonathan sorry I got you confused for William, my bad William, you have long hair. Jonathan, I think you did all the dirty work, thank you for the brake recommendation, got that done there too. Anyways, thank you to the entire crew that day for making me feel that everything was going to work out. Yall are the best.
They are one place I trust for honesty and always friendly. They keep you posted, give your a heads up on what they see that needs attention and they rank it safety first. Why I know they are HONEST, took my car there from getting new tires for an alignment. Left it for 2 hrs. Came back to pay and they showed me the scope which was perfect so they said NO CHARGE! That is $0 due. Wow! Now that is unreal to be that honest. Customer ever since and that was 4 years ago. :)
Repaired broken tail light in 2 hours. Provided transportation to and from location. Excellent customer service, good safety precautions re virus, excellent repair work. Friendly, helpful, respectful (listen to what you say & do work you request), eliminated stressful situation.
Very helpful and quick service here. I had a bad oil leak that happened due to an error a dealership made. The staff was quick to recognize the issue and made helpful suggestions on how to handle the situation, left detailed notes on my service notes, and only charged me for an oil change so I could address the rest with the dealership. Very trustworthy place of business!
I always appreciate the quick, reliable and trustworthy service at City Garage in North Arlington. Im not knowledgeable about cars, and Sean is patient and answers all my questions in a way I can understand. I always have complete confidence in their work. My 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe runs beautifully as a result of their good repairs and service.
Shawn, Adam, Alan, hell all the guys here Rock and are good at getting me rolling at reasonable prices I recommend these guys they fix it right the first time.and guarantee their work. Thanks Guys the Caddy will be in as soon as I find the time off from work including the honey dos list.
I’m a soldier from ft. Hood and I was in Dallas to pick up my truck that was shipped over from Germany. I got about 20 minutes down the road and started smelling my brakes and gave these guys a call to see if they could look at it. They gave me a free inspection with no wait time and found out that all that sitting on the boat from overseas had rusted up my brake pad clips and pins. They worked all the rust out of both sides (about an hour of work) and made them function like new. When they finished I went to the counter to pay up and they said there was no need, brake inspections are free. All I can say is that I these guys are great and it’s surely the first time I left a shop not paying a dime. 10/10 would recommend to others!
I stopped by to get a state inspection for my wife’s car, and it took only 15ish minutes which was mind blowing. I’m use to sacrificing at least 40mins to an hour to get cars inspected. The staff was really friendly and the facility was nice. Definitely will be using them for now on.
I took it in on a Saturday morning, they were very helpful, assessed what needed to be done- did that and nothing more- didn’t try to oversell me- very happy with the service!12/30/19 update- recently took my car back for another oil change and CEL issue- as always- they were very helpful and friendly! Great service!
City Garage has earned all my business when it come to vehicle Service needs. Sean T was my Service Writer and was top notch from the second I walked in with my engine issue. He did a great job communicating everything to me about my engine replacement and delivered on time as promised. I would highly recommend City Garage Arlington!
I stopped by City Garage to inquire about removing wheel spacers that had been placed on my car by the previous owner. The spacers had been on the wheels so long that they were ceased to the rotors. The guys at City Garage made the proper assessment and got them removed without incident and they did it while I waited for it. Thanks to the knowledgeable gentlemen at City Garage, I will return for other services.Roger
We use City Garage for both of our vehicles to be serviced. They are ALWAYS friendly, thorough, and give us honest advice on what needs to be fixed vs things that can wait or would just improve performance. Never had a problem getting an appointment. We won’t go anywhere else.
Ive been here a couple of times and great experiences so far. Honest guys, they didnt try to upsell anything. They just did the work I went in for and gave me recommendations/quotes for possible maintenance I will need in the future which I appreciate and is always good to know. Looks like I found my go-to auto shop. Thank you!
I brought a 2013 Ford Escape in for a wastegate solenoid replacement due to a code that had the check engine light on. I was quoted a $400 which was ALOT considering the part is only $75 online. But I didnt wanna deal with it myself so I paid them to do it.After picking up the car, the check engine light was still on, I was advised to let it go for 5-6 cycles and it should reset. So I left and after 4 days with the light still on, I ramped the car up to verify the part was intact there... I found the new part in place as it should be HOWEVER it was not plugged in.... so in the process of replacing this sensor they failed to connect it to the computer. But I also assumed the male end plug was broken from what I could see.I returned the car to question them on this and showed Sean the GM the pictures I took of the sensor so their master mechanic lifted the car and then came and said everything looks fine so Sean and I walked out to find that the it was NOW plugged in.The male connection was intact and not damaged and they had connected it and acted as if that was how they found it.(which was a lie) They lowered the car and pulled it out and I pointed out to Sean how the check engine light was now off.I could understand a new guy making this mistake but their Master mechanic did this, and then tried to cover it up instead of apologizing for the error! I highly recommend NEVER going to this shop for any work.
Go no further! The Manager, Ed, is personable and knowledgeable. The techs are highly trained and get it done! Their price is more than fair, you get your moneys worth. If you want a first class maintenance and repair facility you have found it.We needed certified mechanics that could work on a variety of vehicles. We have a 01 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Convertible, a 97 Dodge Dakota, and a 05 Hummer H2.Their techs were able to read and correct codes that appeared on our vehicles that even the dealerships missed!97 Dakota -They pointed out basic needs that not one place prior to them addressed and as a result our truck runs and feels like a new vehicle!01 GT Eclipse purrs like a kitten but jets off like a cheetah when you hit the gas.05 H2 needed a complete motor rebuild and that was handled with ease.We have wasted thousands hand over fist with shoddy work that did not address the true needs of our vehicles to bring them to top performance.HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY CUSTOMER!They are the ONLY shop I will bring my vehicles to from now on.
They did what a shop is supposed to do, they diagnosed and fixed the problem. They didnt try to sell me extra stuff even though I know there are more problems to fix. They got it done quickly too.Edit:Here I am a few months later being asked to leave a review again. The alternator they replaced last time went bad. They covered it under warranty with no hassle at all. These guys are the only shop Ill deal with in the future. Hands down the most honest, professional shop Ive ever dealt with.
Took my car in for an oil leak as well as an inspection and chose this mechanic shop because of how good their reviews were. Bruh, these guys are amazing. I, myself, working in the custoimer service industry, they were fantastic. Super curteous, very friendly, they even stayed after closing to help with an issue I had no idea was happening. Definitely will be coming back here every time I need a mechanic.
Super pricey for oil change and tire rotation. They added full synthetic without me even knowing. I said I wanted an oil change and by default put down the most expensive without even asking. So terrible service. Then when I get my truck back my steering wheel is jerking to the right. Bad. So now I have to take it back to these bs mechanics.
I recently took my car in for a A/C check and and was told that I need a new radiator and a water pump kit. After the work was done, the very next day, my car stalled out and was immobilized. I had it towed to the shop were they could look at it for the damages. This is were my review could have went left or right. My engine blew due to the high temperatures of the engine. I was told it was going to blow anyways and it was nothing they did on their end to cause it. Well, I know how that looks and can come off so I did all I could to get the discrepancy resolved. I am very patient and Brad was able to help me out in the end. It took multiple tries to get my car working again (long waits in the lobby because I was tired of rental car payments). City Garage got my car back on its feet and the engine light has not come back on as of yet. I do not believe in writing reviews in the heat of the moment, its best to be patient and see how it works out first. Regardless of how my cars engine blew, City Garage helped revive my car back to life.
Took my truck to this place 3 times in the span of one week. They supposedly repaired issues that were causing my vehicle to overheat, but some how after every $500 job the vehicle would overheat the next day. So they ended up robbing me of $1000 just to tell me I would need a new engine block. On top of that, they told me they would have an estimate ready in 3 days, it took them three weeks. Very inconvenient for a student like myself. I will also post pictures of the condition they left my vehicle in. Please take this warning and take your business elsewhere.
Came here for an oil change and a battery replacement so far. Nice staff, quality work, and great prices. They’ll let you know if you need any other work done, but they don’t haggle you and try to get you to have it done right then like other places I’ve been to. Would recommend.
The person who helped us was very nice and friendly. He kept us up to date on what was going on at all times. I keep going there to get our cars fixed the prices r reasonable on some stuff and too high on other things but overall a great place to get cars fixed . I would keep going there..
I took my Mazda CX-5 to City Garage North Green Oak location for a check up and alignment after they checked my Corolla for free! They only recommend repairs after a 35 point-check in my two visits. I am very satisfied with those two experiences and will be take my Honda Accord there soon.On my 2014 Corolla, I was told that no repairs are needed after the 35 point-check. It costed me nothing to be assured that the car is in good shape.Strongly recommend it!
Customer Service is truly exceptional. Very nice staff. Mechanics are extremely knowledgeable and honest. These guys are not trying to give you services you dont need. They identified the problem quickly and fixed it even quicker...I will now be a loyal customer...Love this place..
I have had some bad luck with Mechanics taking advantage of me when trying to get my car fixed. My experience with Josh Vernon at this location is what will keep me coming back to him and City Garage with my car! I know there are a lot of people who will just post about the negative but I wanted to make sure you know you have a great associate working for you. He is great with Customers and shows he understands that it can be expensive and not everyone has money to spare. He was very helpful and didnt give up until he found out what was wrong with my car! I thank him and you for providing quality people and mechanics to run your business! Thank you Josh for taking such good care of your customers! =)
Very friendly, honest and proactive. They explain what needs to be done and why in terms easy to understand.I live in Dallas but make the drive to this location due to these factors. The work is excellently done and in a timely manner.I am and will be a lifelong customer and have recommended them to friends and family.Keep up the great work.
Not only was the work done up to my satisfaction, but the staff was so polite and so willing to help. They got my car out in time for me to make an appointment the next day. They provided transportation for me to and from my home. Just an all-around good crew. Thanks so much for your help
I usually only have time to bring in my car when Im alone, which gives me anxiety about being charged too much being seen as a know nothing female. This place has honest people and they will take the time to explain your billing/maintenance report. Also their bathroom is always clean!
We were definitely Touched by an Angel today. While driving down Green Oaks, we had a blow out. It was 100 degrees outside and here we were, two women, stranded. In a matter of seconds, a car in front of us was backing up. Todd, an employee of City Garage, got out of his car and proceeded to change our tire right there! He could not have been more helpful! He the had us follow him to the shop where he aired up our spare tire. We will definitely use this business next time we need an oil change or auto repairs as well as recommending them to our friends!! With all the bad in this world today, it restored my faith in humanity that someone was willing to be so kind in the sweltering heat! Todd, you will never know how much your help meant to us today! I brought in my car because I had one brake pad that was sticking. I tried greasing the shims, but that one pad kept sticking. The brake pads and the rotors were fine; lots of meat on the brake pads and the rotors were barely worn. Its the typical appearance of rear disc brakes since they barely get any real use. If there were any issues in the brakes on that wheel, it would have been in the calliper.I went by and explained the situation. I didnt have a whole lot of space to work on this at home, so I was hoping they could take care of it. I dropped off the car for just a quick estimate and was told Id be given a call when they could get to it later in the day. No biggie. I received a call a few hours later and was told that they recommended doing a brake flush and replacing the rotors and pads - the same pads Id held in my hands earlier that same day that were very clearly perfectly fine for service for a long time to come. Per the manufacturers recommendations, a brake flush was due, so that was no biggie. They wanted around $500 for all of this.I told them that the work they suggested was unacceptable, and asked about a compromise: get a new set of brake pads (theyre pretty cheap) to get new, clean surfaces to work with and maybe reduce the friction between the brake pads and the shims. The guy I was on the phone with, Brad, said let me talk to my tech and see what he thinks. Let me call you back in 10 to 15 minutes. Fair enough. We ended the call and I waited. And waited. And waited. An hour later, I called back and asked what was up. Brad told me that his tech just came back from lunch. If they knew the tech was going to lunch or even already gone for lunch, how did they expect to be able to call me back in 10 to 15 minutes? They told me they couldnt do anything at that time except change the brake pads and rotors for the purpose of their warranty. Nope, thats not gonna fly. I know when someone is trying to screw me. I asked them to put it all together and have the car ready for pickup soon.I showed up and picked up the car with no problem. I didnt want to have to do this work myself, but I didnt have a choice. I stopped by an auto parts store and grabbed the last few things I needed. Things went swimmingly until I tried to remove the top calliper bolt. That thing was stuck so hard that I couldnt remove it! That bolt is specd with a pretty low amount of torque - its low enough that I should be able to loosen it with a 3/8” ratchet with no problem. I had to cut the bolt and slider with a hacksaw to get it out. If they did indeed touch that bolt, they put it back on with an impact wrench!I was thoroughly displeased with City Garage as a whole. I think this business practice is rather shady and not trustworthy in the slightest. I wont be coming back here for anything.EDIT: I should say Im fairly confident that the City Garage technicians used an impact wrench on the calliper bolts and overtightened it because they DEFINITELY used an impact wrench on my lug nuts and broke the cap off of it. Thankfully thats a cosmetic issue only.Second edit: look at that reply! I love the implication that replacing my brake pads and rotors was a proper and complete repair when I had thick pads and rotors instead of actually diagnosing the problem. Im not even bringing my car here for an oil change from this point on.
Easy to schedule an appointment for an inspection. They also quoted me a price for an oil change that beat all other estimates. Although I ended up going back to the dealership due to needing an estimate for brakes, I was able to get the dealership to nearly match their price. I will however use them in the future.
The first time I had tried to get a state inspection and had the time schedule, I wasnt able to get one because the person who does state inspection ended up leaving. Second time I tried to get an oil change, there was no assistance at the counter at all. I had waited about 20 minutes, and no one came.
Gave me a good detail when checking my check engine light. The only thing that I didnt like is that it took over an hour to do an oil change when I was the only person in the waiting room and they were really pushy to get my car fixed right then and there. I choose to get repairs elsewhere since I can get a car rental and the diagnostic fee waived at the dealership.
These guys provided fast & accurate service. I had a diagnostic exam and alternator replaced the same day. Based on the diagnostic exam, much needed services were recommended to keep my 2002 Acura MDX alive and safe to drive. Though labor costs are pricey, I was willing to pay for a speedy return of my vehicle.
The staff at CG were easy to work with, willing to spend time answering questions and discussing alternatives to fixing my issue, and went out of their way to find a part the local dealers did not stock, including driving to a local hardware store. Very satisfied as a customer.
I really appreciate the honesty, knowledge and courtesy Brad extended to me at the Arlington location on Green Oaks. My 97 BMW 318ti runs Awesome. He talk me through the tune-up process and explained in terms I could understand. I will definitely continue to use City Garage for my car and truck care.Brian Banks
I had a pre-purchase inspection done on a used car that I was looking at. The manager at City Garage was very helpful, he took pictures of the issues that he found and explained everything thoroughly. I didnt end up purchasing the car, but I greatly appreciated City Garages help!
I have been using City Garage in N. Arlington for a couple of years for oil changes, but I needed someone I could trust to tell me what was going on with my 4-Runner. It was running rough and not responding well going uphill when accelerating. They ran a complete diagnostic and found the problem and fixed it all in the same day. It runs great now!! Thank you!!
If you like getting ripped off, this is the place to go to. I went there to get my car checked out, they told me I needed my engine mount n cv axle replaced for a total of $800. Come to find out i went to another shop n they told me my axle was fine n only needed my engine mount replaced for only $180. Like wow! A savings of $620!!! They were trying to take advantage of me... I would not recommend this place to anyone !!!!
I have been a customer of City Garage, 1351 NE Green Oaks, Arlington, Tx. For over 10 yrs. ,and I have always been very Please with their services. I wont take my car any where else. Now, that I reside in Fort Worth, Tx. I still bring my vehicles for repairs to this place only... I consider them to be the best, at what they do. THANK YOU.....
Rolled into town on vacation only to discover brake issues. My brother recommended these guys and I was not disappointed. They bent over backwards to complete the repair asap and were both courteous and professional. What could have been a major disruption, was just a blip in our vacation. Thanks!
My experience with them was terrible. when it comes to auto service, repair is one side and trust is in another side of equation And I wont never recommend them to anyone because it is possible that they rip you off. So here is the story. My brother left me a car and it was up to me to keep it as my second car or sell it. SO I dropped the car down there (engine light was on) for diagnosis and explained I would only keep the car if the inspection would pass with minor repairs (because It was a Hyundai accent 2005 and was not worth spending a lot on) . They have done their diagnosis for $120 and let me know that it will definitely pass the inspection if we repair the exhaust for $260 (total of $390) and I was like Ok it makes sense cuz I can use it for school commuting. So I gave to ok to proceed and also ask them to take a look at the brakes since they were noisy. So at the time of picking up they told me that there is no guarantee that the engine light wouldnt turn back on and Ill have to drive like 50 miles and come back to pass the inspection and also they did not bother to take a look at brakes. Anyway I did drive more than 50 miles and I have never passed the inspection since then. Remember that I trusted them to assure me that it would pass the inspection and will fix the brakes. none of them satisfied and I am left with $380 out of my pocket for an absolute waste of time and horrible service for a car left on garage for no use. and plz dont reply here that you are sorry. I dont think you care. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I actually managed to sell it this morning for $200 just to get rid of it. you called just in time. no more waste of time for me answering your phone.
I live in Houston but I used City Garage when I lived in DFW. Earlier this week I took my car to a mechanic by my work who came highly recommended (I no longer trust the person who recommended him). He fixed my first issue (starter) but the very next day something happened again - turns out it was the low pressure fuel pump which he hadnt tested for. I know people at City Garage so I called them for help. They coached me on what to say to the mechanic about what needed to be tested. The mechanic still didnt get it. City Garage (specifically Sean T) sat on the phone with this man the majority of the day telling him how to run his diagnostic tool, how to read the codes and where my low pressure fuel pump actually was. Then this mechanic was sending pictures to them asking if he was buying the right parts. Next...he needed to know how to put it in. So they had to stay on the phone AGAIN to tell him how to take it out and put it back in. So, City Garage fixed my car from the DFW area while this mechanic struggled with life. Can I start a petition to get a City Garage here in Houston?!?!
I did an oil change last week. I asked specifically if they would refill the windshield fluid. They confirmed it was part of their 30 point inspection. It was not done so I had to do it myself. I question how many other parts of the inspection were missed now since this is the second time. I wouldnt go back due to this.
So I thought these guys were great. Thought being the key word here. They had done my oil change before, and one time they replaced a bulb and changed windshield wipers for me for free. So I was like, oh maybe I can trust these guys. So I come in because I need to get my car inspected and registered. But then my brake lights stop working. Brad tells me that it is an electrical issue and that Im going to need to bring it in Friday morning because its too late in the afternoon and that the diagnostic takes about 2-3 hours. So Im like, Im driving around without brake lights, but ok, I understand. So Friday morning comes, apparently it will cost me $120 to run the diagnostic. Seems steep, but fine. They offer to drive me to my apartment, which I accept. About 3 hours later I get a call from good ole Brad telling me that its a special piece that only Hyundai sells. That piece will cost me $77, but hes not going to charge me a labor cost... ok, thats nice I guess. My car will be fixed and ready to take home today. Great! But then Brad makes a fatal mistake. He calls back to let me know that the part is actually not there and needs to be ordered. I can only get my car fixed Monday. So, I ask him what part needs to be fixed, because why not find it online for cheaper? He gets kinda weird at this point, but then tells me its the brake lamp relay, and then tells me he has a couple things to do, and they will pick me up soon, so that I can get my car. I say ok, and look online for the part. Of course, nothing comes up; there is a brake switch, and there is a relay, but no brake lamp relay So then I call Hyundai, hoping maybe I can find one in DFW because I need to drive to work on the weekend and not having brake lights is dangerous. The Hyundai service department says the part costs about $20. Seriously?! I dont mind paying if you have integrity. Just tell me the price of the part, and how much you need to service the car. Dishonesty is something I refuse to pay for. Im a graduate student that has two jobs, so $120 is a lot for me to pay.I call AutoZone, and Michael asks me some questions, and then tells me its probably the brake switch. Ok Michael, Brad just ran a $120 diagnostic, Im pretty sure its more than the brake switch. Its been like 40 min, and they still havent come to get me for my car. So I call and ask the lady (who claims to be the assistant manager) who answers the phone and says the car is still being diagnosed. I was like lol, thats funny, since they called and told me the diagnosis is complete. Shes like, ok you can come get the car. Im like, yall drove me to my apartment. She rudely tells me that they are doing a couple other oil changes and will get me later. Um, what? First of all, if dropping people off at their apartment is a service you do, you should pick them up in a timely manner. I live 5 min away, they could be doing stuff to my car, messing something else up, who knows? So I uber there. They lady is shocked to see me. She goes outside for a couple minutes and comes back and says they are putting the car back together (um what?). I finally get my car and drive to AutoZone. Michael changes the brake switch, which he didnt have to do, and lo and behold! The brake lights work! The part was $16.95.When I called back, Brad magically disappears and wont be back till Tuesday. They told me that the technicians worked long and hard trying to find the problem (😂😂😂) and that if I put the part back, the car still wont work.Well Michael put the part back, the brake lights work, it passed inspection and I got it registered. She wouldnt give me the district managers number, but she gave me corporates number. I called corporate and left a message, but only 5 min later, the assistant manager called back to tell me they were going to refund me the $120.I do not recommend this company.
This is regarding a service which was done in Oct 23, 2015. I was going through my papers and I found the $740.48 bill and it forced me to get this review out.I have to thank the team for taking me in on an emergency when my car broke down in the heavy downpour that afternoon as I was heading back home to Tuksa. They put in a new distributor as well as an ignition relay.Just within a month the car stopped again and this time I took the car to my regular mechanic in Tulsa, OK who had to replace the distributor saying that the previous one was bad. I spentanother $600 plus within 1 month for the same problem. Not happy with the service work provided by the City Garage folks at this location.
I needed a state inspection so I could register my car before I left at noon for an out of state trip. Not did they get taken care of in less than 20 minutes, they also told me I could register online and use my receipt as proof of registration. I saved unknown time by not having to stand in line at the county tax office.
We had good experiences with them in the past, but last all after taking my vehicle to them three different times to ensure it was in good driving condition for a long trip my toddler and I were taking, they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of my wheels causing serious damage and putting us in a life threatening situation. They did however accept responsibility and paid for the additional repair, however the thought of what could have happened has kept me from returning to them. Accidents happen and things can get over looked, but when I keep bringing my car back because there is a odd noise and rattle with the back right tire, maybe City Garage you should have looked at it since you did take my money.
I came in to get my car heater checked. I suspected it needed a new thermostat. The manager suggested to do analysis which is $55 which I did. About an hour later, they said I needed a new engine. I disagreed because my car never got overheated. I even told the lady. She said my car did not pass the blocked test and it will cost about $5000 to replace. I went to get another opinion. I was right. The thermostat was bad. I had it replaced for $130.
This place is awesome if you dont mind paying 2X retail on parts and over 60 bucks an hour for labor. Oh, they also like charge you for super high performance parts where unnecessary. Oh... also... my car still isnt running quite right and the check engine light, which wasnt coming on when I brought my car in, is now on... less than a week later.
I take good care of my car and it takes care of me. City Garage takes good care of both of us! Monday I hit a chunk of something on 635 and a few miles later my AC stopped working and steam started rolling out! I barely made it to City Garage at about 4:30 to discover a 5 inch Crack in my ruined and empty radiator! Luckily the fine people there not only got a new radiator and rebuilt my steaming wreck, get this - they had it done by SIX O CLOCK! It just doesnt get any better than that!
I absolutely love Brad and the crew here at City Garage ! I’m always in and out . I’m a single lady who knows nothing when it comes to cars . They are most definitely honest ! I have a BMW and every time I see a light I’m calling & whatever it is they get the job done !
Nothing. AAA recommend city garage to me. So I had my car towed to their shop. Got there and their mechanic got started on my car. I told him it need an starter. He said the engine is locked up. Lol really. After about an of nothing the mechanic finally realized my corvette has a high compression motor. I tried to tell that he wouldnt listen. A young kid who work at city garage the the mechanic the customer is right he knows his car. It on a Saturday afternoon and everyone is closing so I am at their mercy. When you read this be sitting down. City garage charged me $1161.93 to replace my starter on 2011 corvette. Being from out of stateI kinda knew it would be high but not that high. For a reman starter it cost to me was $577.80 and the rest was Labor really. So if you are traveling out of state and your Vehicle break down take it to a dealership if you can. Please stay away from City Garage of Arlington Tx and any where there is a City Garage. Yes they ripped me off but an expensive lesson learn. I read other people reviews of city garage and some was positive. Not mine, but City Garage dont ever have to worry about me coming back to use their business. I was at a corvette gathering and when they heard what City Garage charged me. I will not repeat what they said about City Garage. One than for sure none of the Corvette family will be using their service. To City Garage I am going to tell as many people as I can about your service and prices on remanufactured parts. To the owner of City Garage of Arlington. I asked if they did military discount the young service tech said yes, but when I checked out the guy on the register said we dont do military discount. So I said ok. This happen on 9/26/2015 store #17. Here is the good part of this I am not Mad just disappointed.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IV USED CITY GARAGE AND THE SERVICE WAS AS GOOD AS THE 1ST. BROUGHT IN MY BMW SEAN THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY HELPFUL ,FRIENDLY AND ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. I EVEN BROUGHT SOME ADD ON PRODUCTS WITH THE MONEY I SAVED. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM IF YOU HAVE VEHICLE ISSUES.
I dont take car to anyone else. They have provided the best service ever and I dont worry when I leave City Garage if my car was fixed correctly I know that it was fixed correctly. They always advise me of what needs to be done to keep my car running properly. Thanks guys you are awesome!
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS.DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I PAID 550 FOR AN OIL CHANGE pretty much AND 2 days later another mechanic says whens the last time you got an oil change your oil is really dirty. 😂 oh great !!I am Extremely disappointed with this company.I just recently moved to Texas from Wa. I dont know anyone & I had no Idea this state was full of so many scammers. I WORK hard for my money & I HAVE more than enough bills to pay before I throw my money down the drain. My car has been running terrible, turning over, smells a little like gas when starting up, and taking forever to gain speed. I took my car in and was quoted by CITY GARAGE $110 FOR A DIAGNOSIS. I SAY ISNT THAT THE MACHINE THAT BRINGS NUMBERS AND YOU READ THE... HE cuts me off and says ANYONE CAN READ THE NUMBERS WERE GONNA FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND FIX IT!!😂😂😂😂😂😂THEY DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE!they told us it was a axel and of course being trusting I believed they told me it would take a hour. I came back to the shop and as soon as Brad was about to say it was ready the mechanic came out and told Brad to come take a look...So I walked outside. They didnt know I could hear them starting the car from the front of the building and it was a terrible soundThe only thing is its starts up a little better because they did an oil change. Might I ass that I had a mechanic check the dip stick and he informed me that the oil was dirty yet I paid 59.99 for synthetic.Anyways. My boyfriend complained . I complained . Because they knew from the diagnosis that it was the timing chain and I know that for a fact because the other mechanic did a diagnosis and automatically said TIMING CHAIN. city garage continued fixing the wrong problem hoping my car would sound better and was in a flush when it sounded no different so they said half way through they realized the timing chain was stretched. NO THEY KNEW THAT FROM THE BEGINNING BECAUSE THAT WAS WHAT READ ON THE DIAGNOSIS AND THEY CHOSE TO FIX WHAT WAS NOT NEEDED TO BE FIXED SO THEY DIDNT HAVE TO DO THE WORK.moral of the story Never COME HERE EVER. THEY ARE SCAMS . WITH NO HEART. I am a working woman who works everyday long hours to have nice things AND THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE.

2022-06-06Fast and friendly service. I only went to get my car inspected so I cant speak on the quality of repair work, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. However the inspection was fast and painless. At 25 dollars its nothing to complain about. Would recommend.

2022-03-17Ive been going to this location for years and they never disappoint. I havent even picked up my Jeep yet, but Im sure itll be running beautifully because it always does after it visits City Garage. Sean even rushed the work to ensure I could pick it up earlier than planned. Sean and the team at the North Arlington City Garage are fantastic and I recommend North Arlington City Garage to everyone who asks for a mechanic.

2022-04-08My back tail light bulb went out and I needed it replaced. I spoke with Jessie and he told me they could look at it to see what bulb was needed and how long it would take to change. They took my vehicle back and within 30 minutes it was ready. Not only did it not take long but I didnt have to pay anything. I was having a bad day but this type of customer service really made my day. So kudos to Jessie and a appreciate and I am grateful for his generosity. This place will definitely be getting my business in the future.

2022-08-09I dropped the car off early on a Tuesday. I had to call Tuesday afternoon only to find out that no one had done anything to my car. This happen again on Friday. My car did not get fixed until Monday. I never did I get a I’m so sorry to inconvenience you. Had the dealership had an opening I would’ve had more to go there. I’ve been going to City Garage over five years and the service has declined.

2022-06-28Brought my car in to have my annual inspection and emissions done on a Saturday morning. Originally advised it might be a couple hours because people had dropped off their cars, but would squeeze me in between repairs where possible. Actually ended up only waiting 15-20 minutes! Very friendly and helpful.

2022-05-13It’s rare for me to trust a mechanic to be honest and fair .I trust these people to tell me exactly what is wrong with my car and how much it will cost. I have used many services from this specific city garage from basic oil changes and tune ups to inspections , to brake replacements, to power steering replacements and more, or just some reassurance when I hear something strange. Would recommend and constantly do.

2022-07-01This is just my first impression. After contacting multiple shops for work they were the only one who said they could get it done next day after me contacting them after 4pm.Dropped my care off around 5 the same day.Was very shocked and happy when they contacted me 7am the next day with diagnosis and price to get it done. Not only this but they insured me that my car will be done by 12pm at the latest. This is all in the 4th of July weekend when everyone else was saying they will not get to it until Tuesday. They have a loyal customer in me.

2022-04-04Made appointment via website, recieved confirmation that appointment was accepted. Quute disappointed to arrive at shop to find they knew nothing of the appointment, and further by the customer service guy (tony) seemingly excusing their problems with the appointment system. The cap to the visit was their apparent inability to calculate a 10% coupon.. required me to return to the shop after picking up the car.On the positive, the did, without hesitation make good on the coupon, and repaired the problem cheaper than I had expected.
