City Garage Auto Repair & Oil Change in other cities:
Needed a pre purchase inspection to see if the truck would check out since we drive 10 hours to Dallas to buy it. Called a bunch of shops in town and none of them really did anything more then drive it and check the lights all things i can do myself. This shop had a full page of test they ran including code reading and pressure testing they seemed knowledgeable enough to do a in depth review like i wanted and fair price 150$ pretty consistent with everyone else i called.
Very professional and knowable about automobiles. Received a list of needed repairs. Their was no up- selling or pushing to spend more money I had at that moment. Used another of their locations with the same level of service. So when I moved I chose them for the repairs. Will definitely use them again. I will recommend them highly.
Ive been using these guys for the last few years and have always had a great experience. The folks at the front desk are always welcoming and Ive never left wondering if they screwed me somehow. I took my car in 2 weeks ago for a squealing belt that they fixed for free cause it was under warranty from a previous repair. Thats what youd expect a good place to do, but that doesnt always happen in my experience. I definitely trust these guys to recommend and do only what needs fixing. Thanks City Garage!
Tldr; They were prompt, down to earth, very honest, excellent about communicating and explaining the *what* and *why*...very patient with my anxiety over trying to figure out how to cover the costs, willing to make plenty of calls on my behalf to verify CFNA information, and overall just. Really great. They took the time to explain to me how what happened happened, what needed to be done to repair it, and though I ultimately went ahead and told them to take care of it all, they broke the list down into priorities so I had a better idea of what could or couldnt wait. Plus they knocked out everything in way less time than I expected, and checked in on me later to make sure everything was good even after I had picked my car back up.
The guys at city garage offer a decent service for my car needs. The oil change is quick and at a fair price. I have used them several times and have come to trust them for my auto needs.Every time they look at your vehicle for a repair the technician does a 30 point inspection. They will categorize the items in terms of severity and not all suggestions are necessary. Seeing the total might be daunting to a new customer. Yet dont feel pressured. The guys in the lobby are happy to answer any questions customers have.I love that the guys are usually able to get my car in and our in short order on a short notice.
Came here to get a car inspection done. They didnt have any customers when i arrived and they were very friendly and professional. They got my inspection done quickly and even gave my an extra report of things my car needed to have done with the pricing, should I decide to get it done later. Ive used this place for almost all my car needs and Ill always come back because they are on point when it comes to friendliness, professionalism, and great customer service.
Service was performed this week. This shop handled my vehicle in a very professional manner it was nice to feel comfortable with the shop doing the service. felt as if they were treating my vehicle, like they were working on their own.The service manager and technicians are all well informed.I had my vehicle serviced in the shop the day after I had the oil change and inspection done at their Lube Center.I felt all the Personnel was genuine regarding the level of service they provide to their customers I would recommend this location to anyone needing service.
The folks at this shop are wonderful. Easy to talk with and very thorough and concise with knowledge/repairs. Ive been there twice now and already planning more work for them to do soon. I am extremely pleased with them and will use them for all of my vehicle maintenance and repairs. Thanks.
This place is very professional and provides me with excellent care. Among the mechanics was Marcus, he had an awesome personality and did a great job along with the rest of the mechanic team there that day. The other bright spot was Miss Kate, she was more of a manager/front desk clerk and she helped me with my purchase, made sure I had all the right info and also has a great personality. This is my new home
Great service from what seems to be very knowledgeable technicians and management. I had multiple services done to my car successfully. My only knock is I initially declined the oil change special that they offered me because I didnt notice until later in the vehicle report that they noted my oil was dirty. I changed my mind later that day but was charged regular price which was $20 more than the special initially offered to me.
It was time for an oil change AND my State inspection. Chose this place because its nearby. Initially entered City Garage because that is where I made a reservation. But, I was directed to City Lube that was behind them to the left. Scott approached my vehicle and told me how things worked and how many customers were ahead of me. He chatted with me and the other customers in the lobby. He is very personable. He informed me of what services would be needed at my next visit. I appreciated the speedy service and hospitality.
I went to City Garage for multiple issues with my 8 year old car. I was referred by my brother who takes all his cars there too. They were reasonably priced and treated me very respectfully. I NEEDED my car the same day and it took them all day to fix my car, I’m so appreciative that they made it happen. They knew it would take a while for my car to get fixed so they offered to take me home and pick me back up. Great customer service! They also called me with other things they found out wrong and sent me the estimate of everything. Also updated me on the car as the day went on. I worked with Jermaine and Chris, if I remember right. They were great!
I brought my vehicle to the Frankford location as my car had over heated. After a diagnostics review I was informed that my entire engine needed to be replaced for $6,000. I was told the caps were warped and would not come off of the engine and hoses were expanded and completely ruined. I had it towed to another shop for a 2nd opinion to only have my temperature gage replaced for $230. Raffi at City Garage on Frankford, Dallas offered to help find someone who would buy my car for cash and offered to sell me his “coworkers” car for $4,000. It was quite astonishing after giving all of the paperwork with the list of issues from City Garage to a Meineke who was shocked that I was told I needed to replace my engine when it was such a minor fix. I truly hope this never happens to anyone else. I only felt it was right to share my experience with the community. I have now been driving my Meineke repaired vehicle for over a month now who also repaired my AC and have had no issues.
I was out of town...getting ready to drive home about 600 miles away. Then my fuel pump failed. I bought fuel pump to do myself. Realized too much work. I googled shop near me. Call City in Carrolton Tx. In the morning. Dropped truck off at City. They knew of my situation. Got me back on the road in about 3 hrs. Thanks to Raffi and crew. Very professional...highly recommend. Got home next day and 1 months later fuel pump working as it should. CITY GARAGE IN CARROLTON AND RAFFI ROCK. THANKS GUYS.
My experience with City Garage was excellent! From the beginning when I had my car towed there to the completed repair work. Mark , the manager kept us informed every step of the way during this process. They attended to my car immediately and were very caring about my concerns with my car. We needed several repairs done and they had it finished within a day. Excellent service and customer communication! We will definitely be using them again for future repairs.
They are friendly. Easy to talk to. Helpful and insightful. They get the best price items. (Depending where you live) Shuttle you home and back, during the repairs. Very nice and warm people. They did a wonderful job on my little car. Thank you Guys! Yall are Awesome!
I have been taking my car to City Garage for regular maintenance over the last three years. They never try to up sell, but always keep me up to date on factory recommended services. No Pressure. They are also very professional. Even when an issue needs to be addressed, they will give you options on cost to repair or replace. I would happily recommend them.
Could not have been more impresses with this location. In a state of frazzled emergency I was very skeptical sending my car to anyone but my trusted mechanic. Turns out they quoted me a very reasonable price for my alternator replacement, quoted to complete the repairs in 2 hours or less - and delivered exactly that! I literally could not have imagined a better outcome or experience. It was honestly the best breath of fresh air Ive experienced in a long time. So. So. Impressed.
Took my car in for inspection and Scott gave me a great deal on an oil change on top of that. Super friendly guy.Ended up leaving and car was making funny sound (thought oh great...) took it back only for them to correct the issue (unfastened air filter cover) and were super nice about it. Would definitely go back. Excellent customer service/ down to earth guys.
Absolutely appalling. My girlfriends car is hesitating on acceleration. I took it to City Garage Saturday and they had the nerve to try and charge me $178.00 just to diagnose the vehicle. Total rip off artists and when I get my vehicle I will certainly not be taking it to City Garage for any reason.
City Garage did a pre-purchase Inspection of a car I was buying (I’m out of state, so this was especially important to me). They were fast (same day service), very professional and incredibly thorough. And the price was reasonable - no more than what any other place has ever charged. They even went back and took photos of a potentially problem area so I could better understand the extent of the problem. Would not hesitate to use them again. .
UPDATE: I love this location more than I love going home.-Thank you City Garage for taking care of my car! You will not find a better place, nor a place that has better service than here. They are beyond understanding, they are beyond considerate towards your needs. My step-mother recommended this place to me and I have not taken a second thought about their work.Yes, I had neglected my cars needs and it made for a pricey visit. But they understood and they did not PUSH my decisions.Thank you to Mark and Eric for your great work and I will continue to be a loyal customer.
Had blowout and needed tire quick. Eric sent wrecker to pick me up and was there in no time. Had tire replaced and back on the road very quickly and very reasonable price. Mark and Scott were very friendly to talk to while I waited. Guys in shop very friendly also. Will definitely be back.
I came in with a Subaru Forester with a broken starter. They were unable to give me a quote for replacing the starter before doing diagnostics which of course cost $67. I should have walked away at that point but my mistake, I paid the diagnostic fee and was sent a texted link several hours later stating that my car needed just about everything under the sun done to it. The grand total was going to be well over $3k. When I called to clarify they said that actually most of the stuff was only needed because of the mileage, and that yes my starter was broken and I was quoted $680 for the starter which is on the rather high end of the price range. I declined, paid my $67 fee, and took my car elsewhere to get the starter replaced for $350. Not impressed...
My husband and I both take our vehicles to City Garage for anything they are able to work on for us. They are honest people. I cant think of one time that they told me something needed to be done to my car that didnt. They arent pushy but they are realistic. It return for them treating us so well and not being pushy, we have become loyal customers and have referred anyone in the area to them. I would 100% trust any recommendations they gave us for work that needed to be done on our vehicles because I know they are being honest. It is very difficult to find companies like this today, especially in the auto repair industry.
Just had alignment and brakes done on my Toyota at City Garage on Frankford Rd in Carrollton. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I could. Prices are not awesome but seem reasonable. They seem honest. I didnt feel like they were trying to sell me anything I absolutely didnt need. For example, they automatically charged me for only a two wheel alignment even though I wasnt sure if I needed all four aligned, which they said I didnt. The staff is friendly enough. I couldnt afford everything they recommended so they pointed out the things that were most important. Service was pretty quick; I was out of there in about an hour and a half. I will probably go back when I need something else done. I am puzzled as to why a few people seem to have had opposite experiences. I wonder if we are reviewing the same place. The only thing I would recommend to City Garage is that they clean the coffee machine once in a while. No stars off for that though. The coffee was actually decent and I figured the heat would kill any thing in there. :-).
UPDATE 08/03/2019 — My wife’s car had a number of items that needed service. We took the list the dealership gave us with prices. City Garage gave us their estimate... about 40% less than the dealer. We took the car in early on a Saturday. The car was ready 4 1/2 hours later. You’re not gonna get that at a dealer. This location is close to my home and I am so glad they are!! They have rescued me many times with emergency service -- tire repair, battery -- plus regular maintenance and state inspection. They are honest and prompt. You cant ask more from a service facility.
Brought my car in for an oil change and maintenance check, which they completed in a reasonable amount of time. But then they said all my brake pads needed replacing immediately and it would cost over $700 to do. I politely declined and went to another place where they did their own inspection and said that I really only needed to replace two pads for now. The folks at City Garage are nice and did the oil change quickly, but just be wary of the prices and the risk that theyll try to sell you something you dont need if you choose to go there. Even the oil change was a bit more expensive than Im used to.
I noticed a water leak from my cars radiator just an hour before City Garage was closing for the day. Raffi told me to bring my car in and theyd look it over. Upon inspection, they confirmed my radiator had failed. I left my car so they could get to it first thing in the morning. They texted at 10:00am the next morning...my car was ready! The price was fair, the quality of the repair was excellent and the staff was friendly, accommodating and professional. Thanks Raffi, Eric and the rest of the crew I did not meet!
Took my vehicle into City Garage today for an oil change, tire rotation and maintenance check. The car only has 23K miles but it is 4 years old. I brought the car in at 7:45am and advised them that I needed the car back by 1pm. I was told that would not be a problem.I received a call at 10am saying my car was ready and all was OK but the caller recommended I replace the air filter if that had not previously been done. I approved the replacement and picked my car up before 10:30am.I am 100% satisfied. All charges were explained at the time I brought the car in and there were no surprises. I even got a discount for showing my AAA card. I will be back.
I had a good experience brought my car in for new brakes and they made sure my car was fixed same day. Even put air in my so very low tire...I thought that was great customer service considering I was not in for tires. Still some additional service needed on my car and I look forward to bringing my car back for the completion of my repairs here in the near future. Just moving into town less than 6mo ago and I’m glad their reviews were online did they justice.
I worked with Eric when I was looking to purchase a used car from a dealership in Dallas. I live several hours away and didn’t want to make the drive up to the dealership without having the vehicle inspected first. Eric was knowledgeable and honest about the dealership I was looking at, and performed a super quick and thorough pre purchase inspection for me. I received a detailed report as well as photos of any issues found on the car sent to my email. I definitely recommend City Garage - they were friendly, fast, affordable and knowledgeable.
I feel so fortunate to have such a great, reliable, and trustworthy place to take my car for service. I have visited City Garage for everything from oil changes to major engine and suspension work. They stand behind their work, quotes, and warranties. They not only do a great job, they also make certain you are satisfied and getting what you pay for (more, really). I have recommended them to everyone I know.
The crew at the City Garage are very knowledgeable about the care and maintenance of vehicles. The same team of people have been performing the maintenance and repairs on my vehicle for over 10 years, even though I have owned it for less than 1 year. With about 300K in miles, my vehicle still performs well, mostly as a result of proper maintenance.
They are always great to me. I had to get to work yesterday and needed two tires. They had told me I needed to replace my back tires earlier and I forgot about it. In any event they did not make me wait for the tires to be delivered. They ordered them and sent their guy over to pick them up. I got there around 830 and was gone in about an hour. Thanks guys... You rock.
I have had a couple terrible cars (never buy a Dodge!) and had routine problems for a while. City Garage has always taken great care of me and done a great job. The guys who work here have always been honest and straight with me. If you want someone to do good work and stand by it, I recommend them. You may get someone to do it cheaper, but you get what you pay for. You cant beat the reliability of the repair work at City Garage.
These guys act honest but they try hard to pump up the charges. We dropped our mothers car for a basic fluid check, inc. the AC. They called and said $900 to change oil and drain and refill brakes and AC. We said well call you back and went to pick up the car w/o service since it was clearly an overpriced scam. When we arrived he said theyd already changed the oil and would you like us to top off the Freon. Trying to be nice we said fine and they did it and handed us a bill for $250. Stay away.
This place seriously ROCKS. They are so quick, reasonably priced and personable. The day I went in for an oil change was also the day I had just gotten my Texas plates, so when the mechanics had seen them in my front seat they offered to set them all up for me for free! Ive had great experiences the past few times going and dont think Ill go anywhere else anytime soon for any of my auto needs!
The service advisors at this location are honest and trustworthy. They will tell you upfront what really needs to be fixed and will not try to upsell you. My car is old so Im in frequently and the guys are always great. My favorite employee is Eric and I look forward to chatting with him whenever I come in. He and store manager Mark and the mechanics take great care of me and my old explorer.
The first thing I noticed was how clean this place is. The owner (may have been the manager) was very courteous and knowledgeable. I took my new-to-me 2016 Jeep for its first oil change. They noticed the tires needed to be rotated, let me know, and actually did it for free while they had it up on the lift. Mechanics were friendly and looked happy to be there. Just a nice place overall.
I am so leery of taking my car to any unfamiliar garage to get an estimate on vehicle problems, but sometimes that is unavoidable. I looked at the comments on their web site and read nothing but good reviews on their service and honesty towards their customers. The reviews were right on!!! I highly recommend this garage. They are fast, honest, treated with respect and the work that Ive had done so far has been more than reasonable. Thank you City Garage.
The folks who work here are very nice! Nice sadly does not attest to quality of workmanship, parts used, or standing behind repairs. I feel I owe it to my fellow consumers to warn you that while City Garage may be fine for some things, transmission repairs are not one of them.In a nutshell, they put in a new clutch and flywheel in early 2020 (this was before it became the year that we learned to fear) for around $3k. Oof, I know but let’s do it right. Less than a year and around 5000 miles later, more problems. Take it back in...another $3k to do the exact same job?! Fool me once, right?I don’t know if it was shoddy materials, poor installation, or extremely bad luck that caused this review, but I am not sure how I would go about destroying a clutch in 5000 miles even if I wanted to on purpose.Caveat Emptor. I have done my duty for you researchers!
I had a Beetle that came with an issue - the right signal light blinking twice as fast as normal. The mechanical I used to use couldnt figure out why so he told me it was not worth fixing it. I went to this branch to have my State Inspection done only because they were closest to me at that moment. They finished inspection quick and sound, and when I picked up the car, they told me why the light issue happened and asked me if I wanted to fix it. Of course I did. And they fixed it in 10 minutes. And they gave me discount for AAA membership. Now they are my go-to place for any car issue. I recommended them to many of my friends and would recommend them to everyone.
I came here to get a tire from tire rack repaired. I procrastinated horribly but they held my replacement tire for almost two months before I made it to get it replacedthere which was great for me. At first the person running the shop did not seem like he wanted to talk to the claims agent which was necessary to get my reimbursement for the new tire. He came around and was ok towards the end of my experience though. There seemed to be some in personable personalities at this shop. Not very customer service oriented when it came to interaction with the customer. They did a good job on the tire. No issues there.
I am new to the area. Came here with my maintenance light on. Driving around on my way to a shop that was recommended by a friend. Looked to my right and there was City Garage, closer to my house. Drove in. Was greeted by a friendly man and said that he could not get me in at this late in the day but we made an appointment for the next day at 7a.m. Again, another friendly face. Coffee was a bruin. One by one the mechanics came into work with a warm friendly smile with a friendly hello. Took care of my light, I needed an oil change. Recommended other services the car needed but not pressure as needed. City Garage is now my go to place for car repairs. Important to have since I am new to the city. Highly recommended. No other place to go. Thanks a heep guys for everything. See you at my 60,000 mile check up.
I made an appointment for an oil change. They got my car in at the appointment time, but took 50 minutes to complete a scheduled oil change. Mark Scott was the manager that said theyre not an oil change shop, and that I never asked how long it would take (even though they knew I was waiting for the work to be completed) and sat back down at his computer. Not at any time did he go check on the status or see what was taking so long. There were recommended services on my receipt (none of which were asked if I wanted completed). This was my first/last experience with City Garage. Firestone off Marsh and Trinity Mills has better customer service.
I took my wife’s car to City Garage and they were very thorough. She needed the brakes resurfaced and an alignment. The price was very reasonable and the staff was very professional. I have already told my family and friends about City Garage. Thank you City Garage, I will definitely be back.
During my lunch hour on a busy Friday I was suddenly stranded at the bank next door to this City Garage. My car would not start, and of course, I panicked. I went to the City Garage and asked the manager for their assistance. The manager sent a mechanic right over with a battery charger to jump start my car - then they preceeded to charge my battery for me so they could test it, and while I waited the manager determined where I had purchased my battery, discovered it was still in warranty and ordered a new one for me. They jump started my car, charged my battery and tested it, ordered the new battery and installed it for me when it was delivered- and didnt charge me at all! Unbelievable service and kindness. I thought this didnt exist anymore - ! Highly recommend the manager and staff at this location.
Ive used them twice for repairs on my car, i found them to very professional and informative regarding the repair details.I also found their pricing to be quite fair after calling around and getting various estimates from other garages. They even gave me a ride home my first time using them because the repairs took several hours to complete.
They’re very professional and courteous. I appreciate the full mechanics inspection of my vehicle and they complete services in a reasonable amount of time. I’m a AAA member and the savings always helps. I’d give them 5 stars if their waiting area was a little more comfortable: tv, magazines, etc.
I’ve taken my 2004 Scion xB here for some needed work twice now and will feel comfortable bringing it back when the next thing breaks. The fact that they give you a ride is very helpful. I also appreciate that they’ll email you a detailed estimate of each recommended repair making clear where the total number comes from, so everyone is on the same page before they start.
Friendly, helpful and quick. The first time I brought my old suburban in about a month ago to check out a mushy brake, they tightened up my brake at no cost. They also mentioned my u-joints at that time. I do a little work on my cars so I decided to wait on the work but brought it in this week to have them do the replacement. It was ready within half a day. Solved all the loud squeaking/clicking from the worn joint! At both visits, they noted and recommended a few other repairs to worn parts, but when I asked, they were helpful in providing an assessment of which repairs were most needed and which could wait. Thanks for great service, I’m sure I’ll be back!
My experience at City Garge was by far, one of the best Ive had with car repair service. Not only are the employees genuine and honest, but the work they do is top notch. They really care about solving your automotive issues and take personal interest in ensuring that the job is done to the best of their abilities. I highly recommend them for any and all car needs!
I have taken my vehicle to City Garage for a short time and every time they repair my vehicle, I do not have the same problem anymore. The last time I used City I had some concerns about the work that had been performed. I sent an email to the manager regarding my issue and Mark (the manager) called me promptly. To make a long story short, I did not fully understand what repairs were being performed. Usually, they are very good about explaining this and Mark was very gracious about the whole incident so I felt compelled to write, not about the great work they do, but the service behind it. Thank you Mark and City Garage staff for resolving my concerns proactively.
Came in for pre purchase inspection, cost $125 here. Went to City Garage in Plano beginning of year for same thing but costs me $100. This location not very welcoming and felt rushed like they didnt check everything. In and out in 35 minutes and guy barely explained the inspection report. Bad customer service and not confident in their work.
Started taking my cars here for routine maintenance when we moved to the area. These guys are great - very nice, extremely competent, and honest. After I went into sticker shock from a quote at the nearby Christian Brothers, I took my wifes car to City Garage. They put in a new AC system and redid the brakes on my wifes car for $200 less. Also, they did not try to upsell me on anything. Now, this is my first stop for any car related work.
There are some amazing licensed professionals that work in this shop. Recently I was told that my alternator was bad and THE ONLY way to take the part off was to remove my fender. These guys fixed my car and saved my life within a matter of 30mins. I will forever take any vehicles I may own in the future to these guys!!!
Eric was very helpful. I had City Garage inspect a vehicle that I wanted to purchase online and Eric went through the car inside and out and gave me his honest opinion of the car but most of all he gave me an honest assessment of car and it saved me from making a $40,000 mistake. I highly recommend City Garage for your Automotive needs.
Very honest mechanics who charge a fair price. I took my car to another place & they said I needed a catalytic converter & intake manifold replaced, all of which wouldve cost me a total of around $3k. Took it to City Garage and they said all I needed repaired was the intake manifold. They saved me well over $1k. I will definitely be back! :)
I’m from Indiana and needed my car checked out before we made the 18 hour drive back home. They were very professional but still made you feel like a friend. I sometimes feel intimidated when it comes to fixing my car because I don’t know if I’ll be taken advantage of and over charged but City Garage DFW did an amazing job and I couldn’t have asked for a better price on the job they did. Definitely took a load of stress off of me so thank you guys for everything.
Walked in and the guy Eric greeted me and was patient working with me. They finished the inspection in a timely manner. I was there for no longer than 15 minutes. The manager checked me out and explained what to do further since it was my first time getting an inspection done to my car. Overall nice service
I used City Garage in the first place because of their good reviews. I cant disagree with anything I read. They do very good work. I have had no problems with the work they have done on my car. Nice clean waiting area and I like being able to schedule my appointment online..
Stopped by for an oil change, I asked for the cheapest one. Guy looked at me and tried to sell me a $72 oil change!!! Hahahahah. For a little Hyundai?? Out of their minds!!! Drove down the street to Josey and belt line and got my less than $30 oil change!!I could not believe that $72 was their most economical oil change price. RIDICULOUS. I live Right next door so I was trying to save time but not with more than double the price!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Fairly new to Dallas and called another auto place I was somewhat familiar with. I got the run-around from the 1st location so called a 2nd location. The first made every excuse and didnt even want to help at all even though they advertise they do. The 2nd was farther away but told me to bring my car in which I did only then to tell me we dont do that. What did I need help with? Just replacing a couple of headlight bulbs! That was it.But then I called City Garage on Frankford and spoke with Eric who told me come on in and well get you taken care of. So I did and they did!! I deleted the other place from my phone and saved City Garages number. I will go to them first from now on! And Eric went above and beyond and replaced a back light that I didnt even know I needed so want to give him another thanks and extra kudos!!!
Beware. Rant coming. These guys are banking on the fact that I am female and ignorant. And while I may not have a clear cut understanding of the inner workings of my vehicle, I am smart enough to take my car to several other mechanics to get second opinions or if I have the time, to my dad and Godfather who were mechanics in the Armed Services. With that said, everyone **AVOID City Garage on Frankford and Midway in Dallas**. They have decent enough reviews online (which is where I placed my trust- unfortunately) but have had three instances with them (2 of which were minor and one which was MAJOR) which has cost me several hundred dollars.I have taken my car in to get basic oil changes a few times and two of the times (the last time in addition to the very first time) none of my fluids were topped off. Moreover, The last time I went in (just before x-mas), I paid for a tire rotate and balance. I got a call from the service manager stating the mechanic sugguested I needed to replace back breaks asap (the whole shebang) which would be over a $300 service. I declined knowing Id be visiting my father near Fort Hood and that he could take care if it quickly. I just wanted my car in good enough condition to be a safe driver before hitting holiday traffic .When I got to Fort Hood, my dad checked my liquids and noted they had not been topped. In fact one of my fluids was so low, he told me I would have had to have not refilled it for at least 6 months for it to be that low. I had had an oil change just the week before. He also pulled the back right tire off to do a brake change and noted the brakes had plenty of meat on them and werent even half worn down. When he tried to take off the back left tire, he was really concerned. He couldnt get the tire off due to a stripped nut. Because he had tried to remove the nut once before, about three months ago to change out the hubcaps, he knew the mechanic had not done a full tire rotation and questioned then, how the mechanic could have come to the conclusion I needed new brakes.I called Eric at city garage and shared with him all my evidence that my car had not been properly serviced. After much back and forth between us, I requested a full refund for the incomplete service. I went in in person too, and gave then the strut that had to be cut just to remove the rear left tire and the brakes that were supposedly so old they required immediate attention (his words, not mine).I have heard nothing back concerning my request for a refund. Not even a nod of consideration. This story doesnt even include the other 2 minor incidents I had with them.So...unless you have a mechanic at home to second check thier work, DO NOT take your vehicle here for service. They have lost my trust completely by giving me too many half services whilst taking the full payout and are not considerate at all to rectify the situation when called out. This incident happened weeks ago and they have had ample time to make it right.
The entire crew at the Frankford/Midway location could not have been more helpful. They are courteous, professional and the best at their profession. They fixed my 81 year old mom’s car correctly, called with updates and treated her with the upmost dignity. I can’t say enough good about them. Terrific or Fantastic is to underrate them. They are SUPERIOR to any place I’ve had a car worked on. I highly recommend them. I just wish there were more tha five stars to rate their performance.Victoria R.
I’m new to Dallas and for my first shop, City Garage really took care of me. The guy, who I believe to be the owner or head mechanic, really seemed to have my best interest in my vehicle care and genuily seemed to be looking out for me. I will definitely be returning to them to handle all my car care needs.
My pickup truck overheated on the Tollway and I had to exit to the service road, luckily I found City Garage on Google Maps and limped in at 6:50 am just as the Garage was just opening. I was taken care of promptly, with excellent customer service from Eric, and City Garages Mechanics did a great job on replacing my Heater Control Valve, Thermostat and Cooling system.
Had my car tolled to this location because it came highly recommended by my roadside assist service AAA to have them fix my car. After pull the diagnosis records it was determined I need a fuel pump for my 2007 chevy impala. The price quoted was $1,000.00 and I refused to let them fix it. I had my car tolled somewhere else and it was determined by another mechanic I now have a hole in my gas tank. My car never leaked gas before and now its leaking gas. Whatever you do stay as far as possible away from this auto shop they are dirty.
The City Garage at Frankfurt and Midway is absolutely the best, in part, due to Eric Lewis. He is absolutely amazing and ensures that all work isdone properly. I have followed Eric around and will continue to do so if he is transferred again.. I do believe that City Garage takes the time and effort to ensure the job is done right and done within a decent time frame.
This place is great! I live nearby and have had car trouble the past couple of days and City Garage has really been there to help me. Theyve taken extra steps in order to make sure I can get my car problems settled and Ive really appreciated it. The people who work there and the manager all seem very friendly! If you need something done to your car, then I recommend that you take it to City Garage!
The Ford dealership made me feel a little crazy when they heard what was going on with my car. On top of that, they gave me estimates for things I didnt actually need. It took them a day to take care of my truck. City Garage got to the issue promptly. Turns out the piece of metal holding my wheel under my truck was about to break in the middle; this would have cause my wheel to fly up against the side of my truck while driving... you can imagine the result. Nit only did they repair the things that needed repairing (yay... Im not crazy!, they also didnt try pushing things on me that werent necessary. The guys were quick, and I havent had an issue since. I will keep coming back.
I have gone to this location for about 5 years now. They are straight forward and do not try to get one over on you. When we went to them the first time, my husbands car crapped out. They told us that it would be about 1,500 just to get it up and running but that it wasnt worth it because of the future repairs that were going to come up soon. They have always been truthful and amazing to me. Even though I moved 30 miles away I am still going to them.
They are very friendly and helpful. Also really professional. It was really cold yesterday and they offered to drive my 2 year old and I home while my car was being worked on. I really appreciate them and now my 2011 328i Bmw is running again smoothly!!! Please go here!
Ive brought my Toyota Corolla to this location several times for routine maintenance and have never had a bad experience. Theyre courteous and friendly, I got in and out in less than 30 minutes. More importantly, they do what Ive asked for and dont try to sell me other services that I dont need or want.
These guys are awesome and as a woman I felt I was treated with respect and not like an idiot. Which seems to be the norm at a lot of shops. They guy with the beard was very chill and they got my inspection done in like 15 minutes. I will be back here for more work when needed. Thank you for the work you do!
They replaced my water pump and drive belt. Charge me $667.30 for labor and $361.46 for parts. They were also to put 2 gallons of new coolant but never did. I drove off from their garage to my home without a coolant thinking they did put coolant in as their receipt said because there’s $115.00 charge. Next day early morning before going to work, I checked for curiosity and found out the coolant was totally empty. So I put in myself. Called Leonard at City Garage and told him about it. Leonard of course denies but he apologized and offered a free oil change and send a tech or come in the store to make sure everything is ok. I said not acceptable because I don’t know if had damaged the engine by not having any coolant from last night. Leonard said he cannot take money off because the billing is already done.
My daughter took her 2004 Honda CRV to City Garage #6 for an oil change. They told her that she needed a new tire and a new radiator as the old one was leaking. Unfortunately, she authorized the work before calling me. After speaking to her, I called City Garage and spoke to Phil who told me that the work was in progress and that they’d have to charge me even if I wanted to halt the work. Phil also told me that the rear brakes were wearing metal to metal. He also told me that the cooling system issue was the priority and that the brakes could wait. I told Phil to wrap up the work they were doing on the radiator and get my daughter out. The bill came to $950.84 for an oil change, a new tire, radiator, hoses, coolant, and pressure test. I had my daughter take the car to Honda ASAP to have the cooling system and rear brakes checked. 2 days later Honda tells me that the radiator is fine but that the cooling fan is out and that the rear brakes are fine. I then called the manager at City Garage #6. He was polite and said the Phil had misstated some information but that everything else was fine. I also spoke to the corporate office as I feel that my daughter was scammed. They were polite and in their defense it looks like CRVs do sometimes develop cracks in the upper part of the radiator somewhere near 200,000 miles. However, at that point there had been no sign of coolant leaking. In any case, there is no defense for what Phil was telling me about the brakes. I recommend finding another shop.
The City Garage was a great help to us out of town travelers!!!! The didnt try to sell us services that were not needed and were very honest and they were also very easy to ask questions and converse with!! If I could, I would give them 100 stars for their excellent service today!!!
Very efficient, work was done in no time. Thank goodness Mark noticed my registration was due to expire that day. Fortunately I had the sticker in my glove compartment but forgot to put it on my windshield. They took care of it right away. Always enjoyable to come to City Garage!
The City Garage put the wrong kind of oil in my truck and it caused a problem in the engine. They did not offer any huge discount to fix the very expensive problem. Ended up taking my truck to the dealership and they worked with me and help fix the problem cheaper than City Garage.
These guys are simply the best. Everyone here is professional from the time you arrive until delivery of your vehicle. They treat you like family here. I recommend them for all of your mechanical needs whether it is a pre purchase inspection, maintenance, or repair they will take care of you.
Took a 2005 Jeep Liberty with 106,000 miles here for suspension noise. After diagnostic they said the lower ball joints were so bad that they would fall out at any second and the wheels could fall off, and that the car couldnt be driven because it was so severe and had to be towed if moved elsewhere. He said it would cost $1,600 and it included breaks. I smelled BS because I had just taken the wheels of to inspect the breaks myself. I came up there to get the car and the man behind the counter said that its too late, and that they already removed the ball joints(just so I wouldnt take it). I looked under the car and the ball joints were on there and were dirty so I could tell no tool has ever touched them. I asked him to come out there and show me but he wouldnt. So I said, sorry, Im taking it somewhere else. So, I drove it to another mechanic shop, Auto Tech in Lewisville of Kealy ST. and the owner there said the ball joints were fine but could use some lube. I assume many of these reviews are fake.
WOMEN BEWARE: Went in to address engine light going off and on, dealt with store manager Mark Scott. Came in to shop with light currently off. Left shop with engine light on, thinking it would go off (similar to tire pressure light). When it didnt I went back and they said they would charge me $235 to clear it, something about it being a hard code. I left, not wanting to pay more, hoping engine light problem would fix itself. Consulted mechanics who stated clearing the code is part of the job and to not let myself get scammed. Later went to AdvanceAuto and the same error code was present as when I presented to City Garage. I went back to City Garage, this time not speaking with store manager, signed doc that said $0 to fix error code and Eric stated it was no problem. He knew immediately the code simply needed to be cleared; came to retrieve my car hours later and shop manager Mark Scott again quoted $235 saying he would not release my car until I paid it. I NEVER agreed to pay this and I Refused, telling Mark Scott to let me speak with his supervisor. He grabbed the phone and stepped OUT to call him, coming back in to say that because the paper I signed said $0 he couldnt charge me. --Plz note I paid $160 for a diagnostic on top of payment to fix my sensor. I had to go to the shop THREE TIMES before the final resolution. When I mentioned that if I took my car to another shop they would force me to do another diagnostic, see the error code, and make me replace the sensor again, Scotts rebuttal was that they would see the part is new (because he has proven himself so trustworthy). I had to argue my way in to proper treatment, I FULLY feel this was because I am a WOMAN with no knowledge of cars. BEWARE IF YOURE A WOMAN.
My truck has been suffering from weak brakes for years. I have asked numerous shops to look into the problem and they never found an issue. City Garage in Dallas on Frankford Rd discovered that my axle seals were leaking on to the brakes in the rear making them too slick to catch. I like City garage because of this kind of attention and I have come to trust they do the work they say they do and it is done right at a fair price.
Around 2 months ago, I had a problem to start my car. Because they are AAA member, I thought they should be fine and went there to do an inspection to know what did not work. After 10 minutes for around $60, their receptionist told me, the batterys weak. I did not change my battery at that time since I replaced the battery in Toyota dealer less than 2 years ago with a 60 month warranty. After inspection by the Toyota dealer, they informed me my battery is in good condition.I replaced spark plugs and wires myself, and the problem did not happen again. So what I can say is, their inspection was wrong.
This is my preferred car repair location. I started frequenting this location about 2 years ago and have had some substantial repairs done here. They are friendly, knowledgable, have a fair price and never upsell. They make quite a point of NOT upselling. Today I got my valve cover gasket replace at 50% less than the dealers cost. This is a great location. Lance is DA MAN!!!
Took my car in because it was overheating on the highway with ac on. They said after the supposed inspection that I needed new radiator and top, coolant hose, water pump, belt and temp gauge. Mind you the water pump only had 30k miles on it as it was and they go for at least 60k. Estimated cost was $1200. I brought it back home and a mechanic friend came over and took it apart himself to find the radiator was not cracked or leaking nor was the top. Only the hose was leaking fluid and needed replaced. The water pump worked perfectly fine and it was actually a freeze plug that was leaking fluid. The temp gauge was rusted on and had to be pried off so they clearly didnt even take anything apart to actually inspect it during the inspection that they charged me $60 for. They totally tried to rip me off by telling me I needed to basically replace the entire cooling system. After spending a total of $110 at autozone for a new belt, hose, freeze plug, tension pulley and temp gauge it runs fantastic and not a single drop of fluid has leaked from the supposed cracked radiator or broken water pump. Crazy right?!
GREAT AND FRIENDLY SERVICE!!!🤗👍💯THERES NO GREAT WORDS TO DESCRIBETHESE GUYS ERIC &HIS TEAM WERE PTOMPT, PROFESSIONAL (ETC.MY FIRST TIME WITH CITY GARAGEAND I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TOALL.THEY HAVE COURTESY CAR FOR YOURCARE. I WAS THINKING I NEEDED ANALTERNATOR, BUT ERICS TEAM CHECKEDMY CAR OUT, AND ALL I NEEDED WAS A BATTERY. ERIC SUGGESTED THAT I COULDGET ONE AT WALMART, I TOLD HIM TO PUT A NEW ONE ON FOR ME (THEY DID)THE COST 187.38, I WAS MORE THAN PLEASED WITH THE PRICE. YESSSSS I HAVE PASSED THEIR GREAT SERVICE ON TO OTHERS.GOD BLESS YOU CITY GARAGE🤗🙏
Fixed what needed to be fixed but I came out with extra problems. Minor, but still problems. When I paid and received my car I noticed a few quirks, such as the clock was not working, interior lights did not automatically turn on, keyless remote did not work, the beeping alert (when you leave the light on or keys in) did not work, etc. I was told that the mechanic didnt know why and maybe it was a coincidence that the clock no longer working... and was told the dash would have to be pulled out.. AND I would have to pay for the labor! After, I called my mechanic I trust and explained.. they said it sounded like they blew a fuse. Low and behold it was!... It was a quick fix and did it myself....Im not sure if it was because I was a female customer and was in a bind they took advantage of me OR they really didnt know what they were doing.I knew going in it was a little overpriced but I was in a bind and was willing to pay for the work but did not expect the extra hassle.
It cost me almost $600 to replace spark plugs and one coil. The most ridiculous thing I have ever seen is that one of their workers drove my car on the tollway before actually fixing it, which cost me toll fees and gas. If it were not for my bank overdraft alert, I wouldnt even notice that. They refunded me the cost. But I am still pissed at whoever did that. I will follow up with them on whoever did it and the legal obligations.
I took my car in after the A/C went out on Thursday last week and it appeared to be working when I pulled off. Once I decided to go out for lunch and turned the A/C on, it blew out hot air! I was very disappointed. I called and Kevin/Eric told me to bring it back. I advised I didn’t have any additional monies to pay. I returned Saturday, spent over 2 hours there to find out they could not tell me the issue without taking it apart. I’ll return for a 3rd visit this weekend.
Clearly understood wait time, and accommodating me leaving and returning without losing my place in queue. Took my number to call me.Clearly explained the issue, the resolution and fix, the time it would take and cost. They were able to get it fixed in 45 mins. I crossed the street to a pub and they called my cell when finished.Great work by great people.
Mark and his team of guys really took care of me today.I truly couldnt be any happier, fearing the worst at the most inconvenienttime. They got my batteries warrantied(yes 2)on my diesel.and got me back on the road after towing the truck there in less than 2.5 hours, thanks so much guys!
Every time I go, I receive the up most care and attention like Im the only thing that matters. Very knowledgeable about cars and charges fair prices. Speedy and efficient at service and helps out as much as possible if their might be current or future problems with vehicle.
Had some tires delivered to this place guys here are very professional didn’t jack me around on prices. I am a legit customer giving legit review of my experience they wasn’t trying to up sell me on anything. Probably because I didn’t have anything to up sell me on. Not only that but they also fix my rim which in turn allows me to get my money back for the rim I did buy.
KEEP AWAY- with as busy as they are on a regular basis, I find it surprising that they really need to try to wring you dry of every penny they can get- but this is how their scummy operation continues..I experienced shaking when I would apply my brakes, so I took my F150 to City Garage. They told me that I need to replace my rotors, which would cost $900. This didnt sound right to me...I went off my hunch and told them not to touch it.By the way, the guy at the counter wouldnt even look me in the eyes when he was telling me this. Its almost as if he has a concious or something. Then I went to a smaller repair place, they simply resurfaced the rotors, thus costing $80. Now...I called City garage back..I was a bit upset that the option wasnt given to me, and that they tried to make me think that the only option was the $900 option- they didnt deny that I was correct. They had nothing to say.Additionally, I asked the guy TWO times to replace the license plate lights, he kind of went yea, sure, and then they didnt touch them. This is a horrible, scammy low-life auto repair place that tries to get anything they can out of you- and if you dont believe me, then read the other reviews about this place. Keep away.
Took my car to the Frankford and Midway City Garage after talking to Rebeka about the starting issue I was having with my Infinity G37S, she seemed to know what was wrong with it after I explained the symtoms. Mark the owner was kind enough to take me to get a rental car and was proud of his employees and his business. I plan to go back with any other car repairs and have aready recommended them to an associate at work.
BE CARFUL!! I will never go back to CITY GARAGE because they over charged me and if they did that with me; they will probably do it to you, be wary!!I had a fuel leakage which was caused by a broken fuel pump. Well, they charged me $99 per hour/ labor (it took them two hours) and $574 for a new fuel pump for a total of $863.6. They would only give me a $50 discount. However, I search for the piece and found it in Auto Zone for $281. I saved more than half. So, be wary, they will treat you like they care.
Isnt it strange that CITY GARAGE charge $189.41 in total for just change a battery?I have my receipt in front of me: BATTERY $125.00 (regular market price must below $100.00), LABOR $37.50(pls go any other shops, it is free), SHOP SUPPLIE $12.56(what is that?).This is my first time writing a review. I feel disappointed with such bad experience . thank you for reading.
Do NOT bother with this place if you care about your car or receiving decent service. Empty but employees acted like they didnt want my business so I left. Went up the road to another place and received prompt, courteous, professional service. Im sure all the positive reviews are fake
The service you can get at city garage is outstanding!!! I have been having lots of problems my car and I took it to them and they were able to fix it in no time with no problems!!! The manager is wonderful!!! I would never choose somewhere else to take my car!!! I will deff be back!!
First of all, you will never get any business of ours again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know about how incompetent this garage was on 2 occasions. My daughter took her car to your place because she needed some routine service on her 2009 Mazda. As it turned out she needed new brake pads and and tire rotation. The brakes were replaced and tires rotated along with a few other things replaced at your stores suggestion to her such as an air filter and windshield wipers, her bill came to approx. 400$After picking up her car all seemed fine. The car drove fine for approximately two weeks, then started making a noise coming from the front area. The car itself was running fine but just made a fairly loud noise at times when going forward, the noise would start at acceleration but then mostly go away at certain speeds. My daughter continued to drive the car on days she went to work with plans of taking it back the first day she was off from work. She took it back to the same City Garage and explained what the car was doing, she explained the noise it was making and when it was making it, she drove an employee around so that he could hear the noise for himself. They advised her to leave it there so they could check out the car. She left the car overnight and into the afternoon of the next day. She called to check on her car and the employee told her that they couldnt find the source of the noise and that the car was ready to be picked up. I took her up there and went inside with her to speak with someone, and the person behind the counter was on the phone and had another customer at the counter. He saw my daughter walk in an just slide the key to her on the counter without saying a word. I did not speak to the person behind the counter and I regret this but I trusted they had looked into the problem. On my daughters next day off she took it to a place recommended by neighbors, she told this repair shop the noise it was making and the work she had recently had done to the car. It took them approximately 15 minutes to diagnose the problem. My daughters drivers side tire lug nuts were just barely on and had apparently been just tightened only by hand at City Garage. So my daughter had been driving on the freeway around Dallas and back and forth to Fort Worth on a tire that was barely tightened. I believe it is a miracle that her tire did not fly off while going down the freeway at 60 to 70 mph possibly hurting or killing her or someone else. To add insult to injury my daughter had the other repair shop that diagnose the problem to write down what was wrong and what they had found, and the charge she incurred having it check somewhere else. She went back to City Garage with the receipt that she had to pay at the other place and was told in a few words that it was hard to believe she drove around like this without the tire falling off. In other words they didnt believe her. She asked to be reimbursed the money she had to pay for there negligence. The person had to make a phone call and see what the manager could do for her. She was told that they were unable to reimburse her but she could get a free oil change in the future. So my problem is this, you serviced my daughters car in which you made money on her first visit to your place, she brought it back to you with complaints which you didnt take seriously enough to even check the tire or take it off to look for a possible problem. Had you done this you would have discovered the loose lug nuts. Any one with the smallest amount of common sense would have at least checked the tires. I dont know why you blew her off but you basically lied to her when you said you couldnt find the source of the noise. City garage endangered my daughters life and other people she had in her car. City garage is very very lucky that no harm came to anyone due to the employees complete negligence at City Garage. I expect someone to contact me regarding this matter.
Decided to give this place a try since they are one of the few places open until 7 since I get off work at 6. I get there about 620ish and the man behind the counter bluntly asks me what I want. I tell him just an oil change (typically takes 10 to 15 minutes most places) and he tells me I dont have time for that today. I asked him if showing up 30 minutes before close would put me in this situation in the future and he proceeded to tell me he had other priorities for the day and to go somewhere else. Needless to say, I will go somewhere else. If this is the kind of customer service this place provides, then I am glad I went someplace else.
Contacted them regarding a cylinder misfiring...I was told I had to get a diagnostic test even after I advised them I had one done the day before... Charged 160$ to tell me the same thing I had already advised..Then I was quoted a price of almost 600$ to replace plugs and coils...went and purchased spark plugs for 30$ and it solved the issue...Be very careful if you go here because they will over charge you and tell you things need to be replaced that shouldnt....
Came to get inspections in two cars. Handed them my insurance and they did the first car. I walked home to get the second car only to be told they couldnt inspect it because it was too old. Why not tell me that when I gave you my insurance card to begin with? Then they put the inspection sticker on crooked and partially covering the registration. I will not be back.
RIP-OFF!!! DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN! OVER CHARGING!!! I went there to have my car fixed because it was making a terrible noise and I had to drive to Philadelphia the next day. They told me it needed a new drive belt and tensioner. I felt stuck and trusted them. $947 LATER.... Im driving back to Philly, 1 hour outside Dallas, and the noise comes back. Turns out, after I took it to my shop back in PA, that it wasnt my drive belt, it was a bent flange on the rear differential. It was only a $75 fix! SHAME ON YOU CITY GARAGE! I dont just have thousands of dollars to spend for no reason. Thanks for nothing.
Where do I start? Amy is precious!!! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. I dont know how you manage to get her or how you manage to keep her but she is a true asset to the company. The Garage was clean and very women friendly which is something that you dont find very often. You have a gem in her!
Brought my car in for a battery terminal cable service and felt the labor rate was too high so I declined service. Found when I got home the cable had already been cut while I was there. The manager is telling me I somehow drove it in like that even though the car wont even start now without manually holding the cable to the terminal. It literally would have been impossible for me to start the car with it in that condition.

2022-08-02Brought my vehicle in for a used vehicle inspection. They scratched my rear bumper in 5 places. Refused to admit that they did it. After weeks of trying to get video proof, they finally sent me the first 20 minutes of the 2 hours the vehicle was there. Told me the rest had been written over with newer videos, even though I had been asking them for it since they day I picked it up. Then they refunded me the inspection cost because it was clear that they didnt do any of the work charged. If I didnt fight so hard to get the video proof, I wouldnt have known they charged me without actually doing any of it. Shady business, that doesnt do the work you pay for. Bumper scratches are still unresolved and will continue to try get it fixed.

2022-07-22Excellent service. I needed a tire replace late in the day. They changed my tire around 7pm and took their time to make sure everything was 100%. My tire is still holding up just as if it were new. Will definitely recommend for quality used tires.

2022-06-22This is one of the best garages around. They do an excellent job on everything Ive needed and only go here. Prices are reasonable and even better, if you are a Triple A member you get a 2 year or 25K miles warranty on all labor and parts. They have multiple locations across DFW and I highly recommend giving them a go.

2022-03-21The guys at City Garage were so nice and went out of their way to check in with me before doing anything extra to my car. Really appreciate their attention to detail with the repair. They do a fantastic job and made me feel comfortable right away!

2022-07-21A thief broke into my truck and destroyed ignition. I had to tow my truck to get service. Cost was higher than I expected, but what isn’t these days? Service was quick, they followed up via email, text, and calls with updates and confirmation of when work was completed. Very professional throughout the entire process.

2022-05-30PRO: City Garage did an excellent job. I found the Manager and Mechanic to be professional, dedicated and honest.CON: I feel the cost of repair parts used was quite overpriced.

2022-08-09Called for a simple quote, They would not give it to me over the phone, Goodyear gave me one and several other stores gave me one, Would never use them.
