Love this place! Been bringing my vehicles here for about 6 years now and they have always been thorough, honest, fastand have solid/fair prices. And they love taking the time to teach me to better care for my vehicles. For the first time that I can remember, they recently missed something that led to a bit of a breakdown and when I brought it back they figured it out, totally owned up to it and didn’t charge me anything. They could have easily charged me and explained it away and I wouldn’t have been the wiser. I already had no thoughts of going anywhere else, but I’m a loyal customer for life now.And when they stopped opening on Saturdays a couple years ago, I had thoughts of maybe having to go elsewhere, but when Steve explained that the reason was so that their employees could spend more time with their families, I dropped those thoughts. We should seek to support those who put family first. There’s nothing more important than that. Even if it’s a little inconvenient once in a while.
Ive been taking my vehicles to Steve and the crew since moving to the neighborhood 3 years ago. Theyve done everything from state inspections to oil changes and complete AC overhauls to my American, Euro and Japan made vehicles, with honest diagnosis and fair pricing from day one. I will not go anywhere else.
Honest shop, customer friendly. Had my truck trying to diagnose possible heater core leak. Tested for 24 hours, unable to detect leakage but found leaky Schrader valve on a/c. Replaced valve, replaced lost freon (5 pints) and tested operation. Total cost, less than 65.00 dollars ( inspection fee). GREAT service, sound advice, clean shop. My new repair place!

Doesnt matter big or small they will always take care of you. Steve and the guys up front are always the friendliest. They always keep you in the loop and dont poke your eyes out. Will never take my vehicles anywhere else
I wanted to thank Steve and his crew for such an amazing service that they provided when they serviced my Accord! I had a squeaking noise coming from my left front wheel which only squeaked when in motion and turning left. I bought a new wheel hub and bearing thinking the wheel bearing was going out. I took it to Steve and what started as a $450 wheel bearing replacement became a $50 job after Joe realized it was just the dust shield for my brakes!! There was a lot more to this story, but for the sake of keeping it short...I couldnt recommend Cornerstone Automotive @ Culebra anymore! Very professional, honest, and reasonably priced mechanic that wont try to rob you or sell you something your car doesnt need! Those are hard to come by these days!!Steve went as far as providing a tow service because he was aware that I commute every weekend 400+ miles in the event something happened I would be taken care of! EVEN taking my call during the weekend, off hours! Best words I heard were drive with confidence. That sealed the deal with Steve! THANK YOU!!

Great service and the owner Steve does a excellent job of breaking everything down for you. The best thing is that I trust the shop. There have been many times I suspected a much worse outcome for my issues but they always resolve any problems with only the necessary work. I have never felt taken advantage of and would recommend Cornerstone to anyone who needs auto maintenance services.
I had the air conditioner system fixed on one vehicle there. Replaced several part and refilled the system for a total of less than $800. It was great. I had the alignment done on the same vehicle at a different time. It also went great with very little up selling pressure.However, this last time, I was in line to sign in when I heard the owner/manager on the phone with a current client. They were talking about radiator and water pump work that was being done and how he could get a state inspection afterward. He said that if his lights and brakes look good it shouldnt be a problem. When I got to the front and asked for a state inspection, I was told the server was down. Ive been told this three time (for three different vehicles) in the past year.Im now suspecting that they only want to inspect vehicles if they are doing work on them. Im done going there.

Let me tell you…. Steve and his team over at Cornerstone Automotive off Culebra Rd. are a rare breed. My 2010 Range Rover Sport recently overheated right before the Winter Storm. Luckily, I was right down the road when it happened and was able to make it to their shop. Now as a Range Rover owner and I’m sure this applies to most specialty car owners. I was very hesitant and skeptical about letting just any mechanic work on my vehicle. But Steve reassured me my vehicle would be in good hands, that his mechanic Justin would take great care of her. And let me tell you… the man wasn’t lying. Steve and his front desk staff worked with my warranty company and provided me with detailed updates along the way. I even got the chance to review the parts inventory with Justin. He took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I even had a faulty battery wire which Justin took the liberty of fixing for me free of charge! So, to all my fellow Land Rover & Specialty car friends out there that may be reading this review. Rest assured that your vehicle will be in great hands here. They’re just a bunch regular hardworking honest guys trying to provide a quality service at a fair price. Which is very rare these days.
Getting an alignment done on my 2016 Rubicon. These guys started the process with a top to bottom inspection of my vehicle and 4.5 lift. Ive never seen anyone else do this. Shows thoroughness and attention to detail.Great job guys.-CPT G

Got an alignment done here, they squeezed me in last minute. Clean place and they keep you informed throughout any work you get done. No pushy up sales or anything. Great customer service. Overall very satisfied ! Justin was great to work with.

They have done a thorough job on two of my cars. Been happy with results. Prices seem good based on turnaround time and quality of work. They have a computer system which breaks down time and price before they work on your car and discussed that with me before they started the work. They follow up if other issues are discovered before charging you on any extra work.
I love the place, the owner, and the people that work there. Ive went to several other mechanics in san antonio, which lead me to believe never to trust anyone with my car. My friends father told me about the place and since Ive been going, theyve been able to fix my issues without me having to go back several times. Theyre more like a family that I wish I had all my life. Please go here. Dont waste your time at other places. I dont even trust volkswagon dealership with my car.
Went here for an oil leak. They were busy all morning, but still managed to inspect my car. I chose this place over Midas due to Midas shady reviews. Inam glad this place existed! I will be coming back if my vehicle has troubles again!

Typically Im weary of going to an automotive shop because I have this idea Im going to be tied off with work I dont need. Prior to going in, I looked up what my issue might be, having narrowed it down to either the starter or the alternator.I went to Cornerstone on a Friday and was out within a few hours. It didnt take long for them to get my car in and figure out what the issue was. My two year old battery wasnt holding the necessary charge, preventing my car from starting. They told me how much it would be to replace the battery. I thought it was a bit high. I then remembered that my battery is under warranty from the place I got it. Steve and his crew could have had me go get the battery myself via a ride sharing app, but they took me to go get the battery and only charged me the diagnostic and labor. I was fully expecting to pay an arm and leg, but that didnt happen.
Took my 06 Mitsubishi Galant, to get a simpleA/C repair, but little did I know I need the full blown system replacement, the guys at cornerstone took care of the job got it fixed right informing step by step on the repairs my car needed. Very satisfied customer.!
Honest shop, great service. Great price on an oil change and tire rotation. Ive been here a few times, but once in particular, I had dead battery (less than 2 years on it), a parts store up the street claimed was still good, that my starter must be bad. Cornerstone proved it was indeed a defective battery, making sure the alternator and starter were fine. They convinced the parts store to honor the warranty on the battery, and got me going again without having to waste extra time or trips to that parts store.
Was having issues with my truck. After calling around, these guys was the only ones who took the time on the phone to listen to my problem and wanted me to bring it right in. They was very knowledgeable and fixed my issues promptly at a reasonable cost. Steve (the owner) took the time to talk to me and make sure I was happy. Great guy (even though he’s a Houston fan). :)They have earned all my future business.
These guys saved my truck from breaking down for almost 3 years! In addition to the work, the prices were reasonable and the front desk always made my options very clear and helped me learn and save some money. When I finally got a new car, a quick call yo the shop helped me get accessories and reccomendations for add ons. The most helpful and friendly staff since my hometown shop.

Wow! What can I say. Cornerstone has taken care of all my needs on both my vehicles and have done an exceptional job each time. The staff, Chad, Anthony & Brandon all were more helpful than you could ever expect. They kept me informed every step of the way with the repairs on my car, offered suggestions on which path to take for those repairs and even went as far as giving me a ride home while the car was being repaired. The repairs have always been done in a timely manner with PERFECTION. You could not ask for a better crew. I would highly recommend them for any repairs on any cars old and new. They are the BEST!
I showed up here at 20 minutes before they closed needing a state inspection. I observed about 3-4 techs sitting in and on a car (hopefully theirs) in front of the only open bay talking. I called the office line while remaining in my truck to ask if Id be able to get a state inspection. No answer. Called again. No answer. I drove off. I figured theyd pretty much shut down and checked out for the day. Auto techs work hard. I know that. And everyones entitled to cut loose. My biggest beef with this scenario is that it was at the expense of a customer that couldve come back as a returning satisfied customer later for bigger issues.

This is my new mechanic! I called and spoke to the manager, and asked him for a price on a “Transmission Flush” his response was “why do you think you need a transmission flush?” I proceeded to explain to him what I thought was going on, he then told me what he thinks I should do instead, how it will be more beneficial, and his guys can get in and take a look..I had called around maybe 10 different mechanics that day, he was the only one who took the time to explain and provide a different solution.Priced very responsible, I was charged for the time it was worked on and not a rounded up number or “just the time it was on the lift”Parts were a little expensive, but that is to be expected no matter where you go.Great service, clean shop, friendly guys, will bring my car back here whenever I need work done
Called to see if they would be able to replace alternator, pad & rotors and serpentine belt (already had the parts)........ was cut off and told that they dont use customer parts............ so if you like to bring your own parts instead of buying it through the shop dont even bother taking your car here.

I have been taking my personal luxury car and all my business trucks here for over two years. THEY ARE THE BEST. After having gone through the several auto shops all over town to service and fix my business trucks( I am a business owner), Chad (owner), Anthony ( office manager), and joe(their head tech), are amazing. My first visit to this location, my truck had a cracked u joint which most likely happened from our trip moving from Colorado to San Antonio. I was pressed for time so I went by the shop just before closing time and asked them to take a look. They inspected it quickly and gave me a very fair price and said they could have it done within the hour. No nonsense and an hour later it was done. My second visit, I had a head bolt shear off in the block and because of its location I wasnt able to get in there and attempt to extract it out. Took it to the shop, they quoted me a fair price, they ordered the parts and they called me to to schedule a drop off time. It was about a week and a half later when I was able to bring my truck in. The price quoted 2 weeks earlier was what I paid. Third visit, my wife dropped her car off for routine maintenance so I prepped her for the upsell, which we have experienced at previous shops. Afterwards I asked her how it went and she told me they never tried to sell her any extra services. I am very impressed by this locations professionalism and customer support.
Fast, reliable and honest. I have a 2004 Yukon XL that has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Cornerstone Automotive allows me to keep this vehicle on the road and in the best shape. They always run a thorough diagnostic test, for whatever I need, and then let me know the cost of the repairs up front, if any repairs are needed. The price they quote is always the best in town and they get the job done in a timely manner. This is my Go To auto repair place.
I went in for what I thought would be a small change to the fixture at the rear for my lights, to discover it was my BCU that had gone out, the entire time through the week and a half almost two weeks that it took to repair the customer service was outstanding and amazing and even further than that they were cooperative and willing to work with me and my own schedule
Have been here multiple times and they have always been courteous, fast, and high in quality. They will make sure you know what your car needs AND doesnt. They dont try to upsell you a bunch of things you didnt come in for. When Ive had to cancel last minute they have been easy to reschedule with.
Went to midas across the street for a oil change and tire rotation ( first mistake) and they obviously did not do it as the tire that was leaking was still in the same spot. Came here and they took care of my alignment, tire fix, balancing and rotation for under 150$, Great deal and they actually did the work! ( my alignment was getting worse and worse to the left and when they were done it was spot on) Good place too go, if you can manage the time they are open to take it here, definitely worth every penny.
I took my 2017 Q50 in to have some aftermarket work done. I was given a fair estimate and received word that the work was completed well before I was expecting it to be done. The car needed a follow up tweak but they got me right back in and corrected the issue on the spot. These guys are knowledgeable, fair, and transparent about the repair process. I will be coming back here in the future.
Very polite to their customers. They wont press you for unnecessary add on or give you the runaround. They even provided me with information on a recall for a vehicle I hadnt brought in!My only complaint is that the guaranteed appointment time, while I imagine it got me in sooner, was not accurate. But these fellas are busier than any other place around them, and that speaks for itself.
Every time Ive been here, the customer service is impeccable. Many of the chain car maintenance places have terrible service. They just rush you through and try to sell you stuff. Here, they let you know whats going on, what it will cost, and why. Above all, they treat people right. I couldnt be happier to live near this place, because I wouldnt want to go anywhere else.

100% recommend CORNERSTONE AUTOMOTIVE / CULEBRAMy wife and I used to go to Cornerstone Automotive on Blanco Road before we moved to the west side of town. Michael and McCann were tremendous. To find out that there is a “sister” Cornerstone Automotive near our house was very comforting.Recently, my wife and I worked with Cary and Steve, the Owner. Both gentlemen were extremely professional and courteous. Cary, initially looked the car over and told us what needed to be done. 1 of the 2 things was urgent (the alternator) and without fixing that, the car would not run. The other thing was a leaking gasket, over the alternator. This repair was suggested, but we were told, it was not an urgent one – and it could be taken care of at a later time. Rather than insisting we do both at once, Cary insisted that they do the alternator for us and we drive the car for a bit to see if that was working OK. Doing both would have cost roughly $1300. But, for roughly $600, we could get the car running. We did drive the car for about a week, then returned to have the other repairs done.We know nothing about cars, almost literally! To have a mechanic that you can trust – in a field where people get taken advantage of all the time – means a lot. These folks are really truly honest and do great work. They could have easily told us we needed to do everything now, and also tell us that other things were “needed.” They didn’t. They did the bare minimum required for us to get back on the road. If you need a mechanic that you can trust and not take advantage of you, this is the place to go.Also, they do offer discounts for Military & First Responders. I think they also offer discounts for teachers and people in ministry (but check on that, don’t take that to the bank). I do not believe they are affiliated with AAA, but their work is absolutely of the highest caliber you can get.
The first phone call I made to this shop was unpleasant, he was very rude and short with me, after calling the next morning someone else answered and he was very pleasant. So I took my truck in for diagnostics and Cary S. was there at the desk, he was rude and short about anything he said. I was told to park my truck in the middle of the lot in danger of being hit, when I came back to tow it somewhere else I was told I was going to be helped out by Cary, instead of paying $200+ dollars, when I was only ever told $35 for diagnostics, I was going to pay $35 as a favor when my truck was very clearly barely touched, never moved, and diagnostics were never ran. I would not recommend this shop, terrible customer service, and clearly swindlers.
Walked into place to get an oil change and was told to bring back my truck later that day(not unexpected). Little ticked off that an oil change took 2 hours to do because the mechanic had to leave but the price was reasonable and the manager was apologetic and did not push any other maintenance on me.
STAY AWAY. We took our vehicle to this shop to be fixed. They towed it to the dealership without our permission because they could not fix it. The dealership told us that they misdiagnosed it and it was not the part they said it was. We should have only paid approximately 150 for the car to be fixed but had to pay 1089 for a part and programming when that was not even what was wrong with it. They lied to me several times. The worse service ever. If you want to have to pay for a part after they misdiagnosed then go to this shop and you too will get ripped off.
Went there for an inspection, the man at the front desk was so helpful and kind! I really appreciated how helpful and fast they were. I’m always hesitant to go to certain places for anything car related. Will definitely be returning if I have any other car related needs! Thank you again !
Went there to have my car aligned. They called to say we had a kink in our brake line mid way through the alignment. My husband decided not to have it fixed that second because he does 90% of our auto work. We went to go pick up the car and husband got the keys and left, I happened to be in the bathroom when they thought our family had left. They are beyond rude the way they talk about customers when they think they aren’t around. FYI CUSTOMERS CAN HEAR EVERY WORD YOU SAY from the bathroom!
Absolutely amazed!!! Took our 2010 Honda Accord in to have the starter replaced which is in a terrible location under the intake manifold. Less than 2 hours later Anthony called to say that the car was ready. The cost of the repair was very reasonable and the car was fixed right. It is extremely difficult to find great reliable mechanics that are respectful and don’t try and sell you extra stuff. These guys are people that will get the job done and give you options on potential future jobs. Love these guys and how they treat everyone like family.
I am a retired SFC and moved here from FT Bragg. I have had bad experiences over the years with auto repairs. I have seen some of the worst but now I can honestly say I now have finally seen one of the best. Chad, Anthony and the entire staff are caring, professional and just good people. Their word is the bond and foundation that keeps me coming back. They will not do any unnecessary work on your vehicle. I brought my Durango in because I thought it wasnt running right. They kept it for a day and gave it back. I asked what did I owe them and they told me nothing. Anthony stated I cant charge you because there is nothing wrong. It could have been the gas. I got the A/C compressor on my Toyota Tacoma and engine mounts on my Chevy S10 replaced here, the service was fantastic and it was delivered on time as promised. I do recommend others to experience the quality service from this shop!

With the new texas two step registration rules that requires to have a current inspection online on the system to obtain your registration or the inspection paper (they didnt provide)...... long story short they didnt put me on the state records system (which they should have done) so now i cant renew my vehicle registration without a new inspection which i wouldnt need.Will call tomorrow, if i receive help i will change this reviewPROBLEM SOLVED... Went to Midas across the street and was quoted over $80 for an oil change for my Chevy Malibu 2012, after advertising $19.99 for an oil change.My car requires a synthetic BLEND... Midas only carries full-synthetic (which was to cost me more than double the price).While in the parking lot I spoke to my Chevrolet dealership & was told that it should only cost me something in the $35 range.I drove across the street to Cornerstone Automative & was on the phone with Chad who assured me my car only needed a synthetic blend & should cost be in the ballpark of $35. Bingo!Thank you, Cornerstone, for carrying the oil my car needed AND for being knowledgeable enough to know the difference.

Horrible service. Had the vehicle for close to two months and they take forever to get stuff done. Gave us wrong information multiple times and overcharged us. Manager didnt do nothing to help.

Friendly and fast, but they broke the brackets for my headlight while changing a bulb and didnt say anything to me. So, i have trouble trusting them with anything serious.

Don’t bring your modded car here, they use it for lunch and do burnouts in the alley way. I live right behind here and watch them do it when the customer leaves! Very dangerous
New owner new shop. There is a new owner who used to be a manager of a corner stone automotive in Houston Texas. The owner is really nice and amazing.

I had a good experience when I took my jeep here. The turn around was pretty fast and I was only without my vehicle for a day.
Guys there are friendly and take the time to explain whats going on. Wouldve been five stars, but they take longer then I think they should, but their work is top notch

2022-07-24We have been extremely pleased with Cornerstone Automotive!! We’ve taken our vehicles in multiple times for different things and they’ve been very trustworthy every time. There have been times when they could have told us we needed to do things that didn’t need done, yet they were honest and gave us a simple solution that was more cost effective. We’ve been to a lot of automotive repair shops throughout hubby’s nearly 23 years on active duty and I’ve never trusted one more than Cornerstone Automotive. They’re always very respectful and honest. We’ve recommended them to at least 10 friends and they’ve all said the same thing. Everyone is blown away by their honesty and integrity. Cornerstone Automotive is a great example of how repair shops should operate. We will continue to take our vehicles to them as long as we live within an hour or two of San Antonio.

2022-07-25This is my first time writing and feeling compelled to write a review. Had motor in my transfer case go out and I was back on the road in less than two days with a warranty. 2022-03-09I took the car in because the brakes were getting iffy and it needed a front end alignment. They could get the brakes to fail to diagnose the problem so they didnt do an unnecessary brake repair and charge me for it. They did the front end alignment and only chatterbox me for that and the diagnostic fee for the brakes. They were recommended by a colleague and Im glad I went there. Everyone was friendly and not pushy. Ill be going back.

2022-05-20I went in last week and got my AC checked. Steve told me I needed a new compressor and condenser. My cars AC works but the bottom cover panel below my front car is gone. When they worked on my car they cut a piece of panel off rather than remove the pins that were holding the panel cover in place. This seems like sloppy and short cut work to access that part of car that they were working on. Now that part of the cover is missing and left expose to elements on the road and debri going into inside of my car. Warning front desk young guy is rude and unprofessional to you if you complain about the repair!!

2022-07-19Our 2015 VW Tiguan had a radiator leak, called early morning. Justin suggested we bring it in at 10am, the water pump needed to be replaced, we agreed on a price, repair completed by 4pm. Amazing? Yes!!!
