Cotton Patch Cafe in other cities:
Horrible service. We had a party of 7 and watched at least 10 people walk out before we finally did ourselves. I say this because ours isn’t the only service they lost tonight. After a nearly 30 minute wait, we were told that they were (finally) cleaning our table. This simply wasn’t true because come to find out, they were actually waiting for another party to leave, despite having several empty tables. We finally walked out after the staff refused to push two tables together. I’m not sure why they needed us at that specific table. Aside from the table we were apparently waiting on, there were maybe 5 couples in the restaurant at the time.Everyone is short staffed right now. We always keep that in mind. This, however, was unacceptable and completely avoidable.
I would give this a 5, but all the protein I ordered was horrible. The chicken in the Chicken sandwich was tough, and when I sent it back and got a salad the shrimp on the salad was sooooo awful! And I’m really, really nice on all of my reviews... it’s just the truth. Other than that... everything was great. The service, the restaurant, cleanliness, etc. The starters were good... okra, chips, salsa, potatoes, onion rings, the strawberry pecan salad was excellent. I was hesitant to even get the salmon. Idk.... what any of the other meats taste like. Maybe they just bought a bad batch??? Idk. But the bread and butter. Good. .... 🙂🙃🙂
5 adults, 1 toddler, 1 infant. Called to see if we could make reservations in advance. Was told it was first come first serve. When we arrived we were told it would take 20 minutes for a table. Everyone in front of as were seated within 30 minutes. We were told repeatedly they were getta table ready for us, as they continued to seat customers who came in after us. 1hr 20 minutes later we were finally seated. They were out of almost everything we tried to order. We were told there was two orders of broccoli left, we said we wanted both of those. The waiter then came back to tell us there was only one left, we said fine. Then when the meals came out we were told the broccoli was all gone. No chicken fried steak, no steak fingers, no salad, no broccoli, no green beans, no corn, no mushrooms etc. after 2.5 hrs, two cranky kinds, and several cranky adults we were finished with the fiasco. We have been there several times in the past, but don’t see us going back.
We have always been pleased with Cotton Patch, however today was not so good. Our waiter did not bring or offer bread. We asked and he said they were out. Two other tables across from us had bread and one got a second basket. The table behind us got bread and they arrived shortly after us. We were not offered refills on our tea at any time. He spent most of his time talking to someone at another table. I was sorely disappointed.
Not a picky eater but the first time I ever sent back my plate and refused another. It was our anniversary and they couldnt make the drinks we ordered, (not a big deal we just ordered some they could make). Then food came out and was so under cooked the okra was cold and the chicken fry hadnt even started crisping yet. My wife ate three bites to try to be kind and was still charged when we sent it back. The waitress was very nice and I still gave her over a 20 percent tip(not her fault) but she wasnt surprised when I returned the food. Odd thing was no manager came up no one tried to reconcile the problem from a managerial standpoint. That seems to be the biggest problem with this location lots of young people that need leaders managing, but we saw none, who knows maybe they will try to reach out and resolve it now, but I would have a hard time returning to this location. I have worked in the food industry thats why I dont send food back, but you should always have a manager on deck ready to recognize when your chain has wronged someone.
Always enjoy the food here. Our waitress, Audrey, did a good job. Wish they had breakfast here. There are no sit-down breakfast restaurants in Brownwood. However,The price of $3 for coffee is too much. They need to reduce the price and limit refills.I can only drink 1 Cup. Not paying $3.
I went to Cotton Patch yesterday it was my first time going and I had a great experience. I had salmon with Steamed vegetables. I’m glad I gave Cotton Patch a chance. I will have to come again soon. My waitresses name was Beth and she did a fantastic job. I recommend her as a server.
Meh. My husband got the lunch portion of the meatloaf which was about 3 ounces of meat. And the garlic (he’s thinks they forgot to add it) mashed potatoes - about an ice cream scoop size. His comment was “bland”. He’s a man of few words. I got the patty melt. Burger meat was ok, but they use what I call fake cheese slices instead of the real thing. Overall, not great. Service was good. We won’t come back tho. Disappointing.
The brilliant manager decided to loose a customer for life because he wanted to defend his policy instead of pleasing a customer. I came there to get the fried mushrooms, the 6 mushrooms for 6 dollars seemed unfair to me, he removed them from my bill, so I didn’t enjoy the mushrooms, and he didn’t make 6 dollars and lost me as a customer for life, great decision.
Worst service ever. Watched at least 10 people walk out in front of my party of 7. We ended up walking out because the wait staff refused to push two tables together and insisted we wait another half hour for the bigger table. Mind you there were maybe 5 couples in the restaurant at the time. Unless things drastically improve I will not be back.
Leanna P. Apparently did not quality check my order like it says she did on the ticket. Ordered the country fried steak with mac n cheese and green beans the steak is missing half the breading. Theres also pieces of the steak that should be attached to it sitting on top of my green beans with breading attached to it. If youre gonna quality check an order do it. Not my first time ordering from cotton patch but first time in Brownwood. Definitely the sloppiest one. Will never be ordering from this location again.
I Ordered the Avocado barger its was pretty good! My grandmother ordered the chicken tenders with onions rings. She somewhat liked the chicken tenders even though they were fried really hard, but she didnt like the some of the Onion rings one bit, and after I tried them neither did I, some were fried so bad that the onions themselves were burnt.
We walked in to a busy restaurant not expecting the high quality service that we ended up receiving. We were sat down promptly, and almost immediately greeted by the radiant Sara V. She was attentive to us, while managing several other tables. We got our food fast for a low-staffed restaurant, even better, everything was correct. She got us refills at half a glass, everything else we needed without complaint and with a smile.
Door dash delivered to the wrong address. A birthday meal for an elderly man. They called him in advance. He never got the meal. He, in turn, contacted me the gifter, and said the meal never showed up. I contacted Eleazer at Cottonpatch being 800 miles away I had no idea how to get this special meal to my uncle. Eleazar went above and beyond finding the 1st meal was delivered and accepted to a wrong address. He made another meal and assured me my uncles special day would be observed. Thank you Eleazar for restoring faith in a confounding and confusing situation. I will seek out a Cottonpatch near me because that is a great testament to a good business model. Thank you so much!
The wait staff really do try but its the food quality, or lack of, that kills it. When your entire menu is already unfriendly to people with food allergies and you have to pick through to find one thing you can eat only for it to repeatedly be prepared incorrectly, sometimes not even fully cooked and raw which can cause dangerous foodborne illness in the case of fish, this is not excusable and worth the time or money. The kitchen staff are not trained in basic food preparation and safety when it comes to cross contamination or even whats raw or not, and if I wanted a mouth full of nothing but black pepper in the vegetable side items I could do better than that even at home despite not claiming myself to be a cook. Time after time these things kept happening and then to top it off, when you get sick in convenient timing after eating there, logic says you stop giving them chances with your health and wasting your money on subpar food.
The food was excellent. It was our last meal before leaving the state and it was delicious. The waitress, on the other hand. We got out 2nd round of beers, and two minutes later she comes and puts the check on the table. No dessert, no anything else, heres the check. I guess no dessert for us. She comes back another minute later asking if were ready to pay. Either she was in a really bad mood or she wanted us out because her shift was ending and she really wanted the tip.Wish I could have had some of the pie or a cobbler. Oh well...
Food was fantastic! Service was awesome! We came in less than a half hour before closing. Our hotel reservations were messed up and we had been driving for several hours. I was exhausted, stressed, in pain and had not eaten all day. The staff was so polite and friendly. They didnt seem to mind us showing up so late. They were attentive. The food was really good and fresh. The waitress heard it was my birthday and gave me a piece of the Dr. Pepper cake. It made my night! I will definitely visit every time I come through Brownwood. Great job yall!!!
8/25/21 Walked in was seated by the bar - restaurant was maybe 25% full. Servers walking back and forth, but not stopping.Plenty of staff to managed the tables. One server was talking to a guy for the entire time I was there - again No drink order, no acknowledgment I was there - sat for 10 minutes - walked out.So cant speak for their food - actually looking for to it - been years since Ive eaten at one.Went to Chilis - sat in bat area - had a drink in less than one minute. Im not all that crazy for Chilis - but there staff was attentive.
Ordered for curbside delivery. After checking in I waited almost 20 min before finally going inside to get order. Cashier said she had other things to do. Wasnt very friendly. Didnt even thank me for my order. Needless to say my food was not hot by the time I got home to eat it
Our family truly enjoy eating at Cotton Patch Cafe! Our server Autumn was very attentive, friendly, and prompt. The had some delicious and unique menu items like the fried bacon appetizer. Yum!! The jalapeno cornbread was also awesome! We enjoyed the atmosphere and our whole family fit in the nice big. Overall great atmosphere and wonderful eating experience. Highlight recommend!
Visited here for the first time in a year. Ordered an avocado a burger and the avocado was hard. The top of the burger bun was burnt. Or did a strawberry salad with only two strawberries in it. Also had a patty melt that was also burnt. Very young waitress with very little experience and very little training. Her people skills were lacking. Itll be another year before I get back here if theyre lucky
Really sad to see this place fall, as I used to enjoy it quite a bit. The servers simply didn’t care at all about coming to our table. They were laughing and talking loudly with each other; I overheard one server say “there’s not a single cook in the kitchen right now”. We left after about ten minutes of no one coming to our table.
I tell you what after waiting tables for almost ten years the waiter I had tonight was the best I have had in a long while... His name is Marc.. he was very respectful and very attentive to us... He was there from start to finish and was just the best.. thank you Marc for your fabulous service... You deserve a raise and told your boss so... The food wasnt to bad either... But Im just blown away by the service we got from Marc... I will be returning... Keep up the great work...
To pricey for basic food then they didnt adjust price when they had a platter order and ended up giving a basic basket order. But my daughter didnt say anything so for tea and soda 2 kids Mac and cheese ( ages 5 & 6 yrs old) I had chicken tender basket she had catfish platter which really was a basket 2 pc of catfish and a whole lot of french fries 50.00 yeah no!
We got seated fast but no one came and waited on us until I stood up and flagged the waitress down from talking hour with everyone in store. We had cheesy fries and the bacon and fries were burnt. Sent back. We got our food and both meatloaf were dried up and burnt. The vegetables were good. This has to be the worst cotton patch food ever. Very friendly waitress! Thank you for that.
I always give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt and try to be kind and patient with workers, especially when they are working short staffed, but this was the worst dining experience Ive ever had. My family went out to eat with my parents, and they wanted Cotton Patch, so thats where we went. We waited to be seated for about 30 minutes, thats fine. Then our order was taken and we waited. No one came by to check on us. Fast forward an hour and a half, were the only people in the restaurant, the workers are talking in the back, and our order was never even placed. The only thing I recieved was a watered down glass of unsweet tea and a wet sweet n low packet.
We walk in got seated then waited for 5 minutes noone came to our table but we look over where she was going to seat us at a big table and we ask for small booth and the big booth justgot someone seated snd then there was thier waitress so we got up and left. Was very upset cause we was pasding thur and been awhile since we ate at a cotton patch. They sad thing was they had like 3 people over there rolling up silverware but noone came over to us or even to tell whoever was to wait on us you hot someone at your table.
Somewhat disappointed with my fried fish dinner. Quantity not as expected. Waiter tried hard but appeared to be new. Five at our table and four meals came at once then 5th was 10 minutes later. Had to wait on check so we could leave. Probably I wont be going there again.
Our visit was good. First time to eat here. They were super friendly. Very attentive. Took our drink order , gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted. We ordered the queso dip appetizer. WOW! Try it , it was out of this world good. We all ordered something different. So that made it more fun. The Fish and Shrimp plate was a perfect dinner. Flavor city. The Chicken Fried Steak was cooked perfect. Tasted fabulous. The Chicken Alfredo was okay. Though I did order the Shrimp Alfredo. Broccoli was cooked just the way I like it. The blackberry cobbler was like a trip back in time ; to my childhood. The hot rolls and butter , oh my ; could make a meal on them alone. .Thank you
One of my favorite places to go eat! The service is always fantastic. My favorite server is Trent D.! Hes always super nice, and makes our dining experience amazing. The managers also walk around and check on us as well! We always feel welcomed and cared for when we come here. The food is fantastic as well!
Great place, our waiter Jill was awesome, great service,my turkey club was great, couldnt finish it it was so much, fish and chips plate was also good, and chicken sandwich(these are other plates my family had) we will definitely go back if we get a chance to head out to Brownwood Texas.
Amazing food! Amazing staff! Amazing experience! This Cotton patch has served my family with smiling faces and impeccable service. The staff truest cares about your dinning experience even when it’s busy! Can’t complain. If you’re looking for a wonderful place to eat look no further, cotton patch’s variety of delicious foods gives everyone in my family a wide variety of food. There is always something for everyone. Don’t think twice about coming to this cotton parch. The managers always help out. Our serve made a small mistake with out order and notified his manager, who, promptly arrived at our table and corrected the issue with a friendly approach.
I have only ate at this establishment a few time. But from someone who has ate in restaurants all over the country, this was one of the best experiences I have had... The food was fantastic and even better was our waitress DARLENE... She was fast, professional and always smiling.... Never had to ask for anything.. She kept our drinks full, interacted with the customers and gave you a all around great experience.... Wont have any other waitress when I visit this place.... Help like that is hard to come by... Need Keep it up Cotton Patch..... P.S. YOU NEED TEN MORE LIKE HER .....
Cotton Patch is a great place to go eat. I look forward to seeing him every time. The strawberry lemonade is my favorite as well as the strawberry pecan salad! Very family welcoming and clean restaurant! Always ask for Trent when he is there. He is the best. My family loves him!
Leanna and the folks at Cotton Patch are the best. The food is good and you get a lot for the money. The Chicken Fried Steak is wonderful and huge. And Leanna is the best! She remembers my preferences and asks if thats what Id like before I can utter a word. One of our new favorite places.
My family ate at this restaurant on Saturday evening . The service was poor , the food mostly undercooked, and the most disappointing meal we have had in a long time. On a bright note , the salad and rolls were good. Not another dime will be spent at this particular Cotton Patch.
Had a phenomenal experience here as always. Peter was our server and he was extremely attentive to everything, made sure we had refills when we needed and got us water with our bar drinks. As always wonderful food and exceptional service. We had fried green tomatoes and the bigbtex nachos as well as the NY strip with 4 shrimp added. The steak was good Med Rare perfectly and my nachos were delicious! We always love coming here and have never had anything less than the best!
Update: they have gotten much better. Service is improved and food much better. It was fresh and agreeable.Unfortunately, they are VERY hit or miss on quality of service and food. Lately, it is not uncommon to wait for your food after other patrons arrived after you. Not sure if it is a training issue or what. Food has been mediocre and their bar drinks are amateurish. Several times it came wrong or not even complete. I hope they get their game together because Cotton Patch restaurants are typically 4 stars. Ive just had too many negative experiences at this one to give it a positive review.
Good Food! And Casey the Waitress was Great as well! What a Delight she was to have as our waitress. Really refreshing to have a young person with a outgoing personality to wait on you, Casey made our Dinner even that more better. Wish we could have taken her home with us! 😄
Horrible service. Ordered curbside and nobody ever came out with our food. Went inside and food had been ready for quite a while. Restaurant had at least 10 people working inside. Store was dead maybe a handful of diners. Manager offered nothing but excuses. Online curbside also asked for a tip which we left! Cold fries, got the order wrong and someone still got a tip! Robbed!
The service from our waitress was horrible!! Every employee would go back to hang out in the kitchen and pull their mask off. Whenever the waitresses were on the floor, they only had their masks over their mouths. In addition to this, our waitress would pull her mask off to speak with us negating the fact she had one on.People who deal with food should have their masks on the entire time they are at work. I should be able to come to a restaurant that is following CDC/state guidelines and feel safe doing it. However, that was not the case here. I would rather go to Stephenville where the employees followed everything perfectly while still providing great service than come back here ever again.
Went last night with the family to eat. I chose the over priced ayce catfish. It tasted muddy at times and was not good. The waitress was okay but not. Great. My husband ordered ribeye medium and received medium well.He sent it back and it didnt come back exactly right. We go out often and sometimes people choose this restaurant to go to. I believe one time out of several is the only time something hasnt been wrong.7/12/19Update! Ordered all can eat fish with 3 other people at our table tonight and only 3 came out!!! I did not receive my food and others at table all received theirs. I changed my order to chicken fry steak and it came out in less than 2 minutes...tell me someone elses food was not missing. Every time I come here everyone else gets their food and I am left with nothing or wrong food.Update 8/7/21Went tonight. 3 or 4 people working standing back by bar. They looked our way and kept talking. Finally, one employee came and seated us. We waited another 10 minutes for someone to come wait on us. There was no servers ask to help us. We got up and left!!! Last time trying and will never return.
Best service weve ever experienced! I am a waitress so this means a lot to me. Not only that, but the food has been wonderful every time Ive eaten there. I had steak and I would suggest asking for it a little more done as they cook it slightly under what the categories are. I asked for medium rare which at most places is very little blood left, here though, that is medium. I also had fish tacos and they were just right, though I would have loved to have seen a bit more seasoning. Their appetizers are divine! Their dessert was amazing too. But nothing will ever be as sweet as the waitstaff!
So Im giving a one star mostly because of the restaurants service and organization. My waitress had no idea what she was doing. The male manager is very unprofessional and the female manager agreed that the male manager needed to work on that. Ill go back one more time because they gave us 2 free meals... But I really hope they fix this. The food is great! Just how long it took to get our food was unacceptable. Ive been to cotton patch twice this month and both times I was in the restaurant for 2 hours.. and was thirsty the whole time both times. I do not recommend visiting cotton patch of your on a lunch break or time crunch...
Milky is our Server today and we wanted to say she is remarkable!! We love the courteous attitude, attention to detail and speed of service that she is giving us today!! We ALWAYS have great service here which is what brings us back but Nikky is just AWESOME!! What more can I say!! Thank you Nikky for a great experience here today!!The McCombs Family
Love love love this place and every single one of the amazing waitresses! The girls are so sweet and the head waitress always comes around and checks on us. The peach sweet tea is the bomb and I would definitely recommend the steaks and salmon. Club sandwiches are done to perfection and absolutely loaded with fillings. They girls always say hi to my baby and she loves them and the atmosphere. I just hope I don’t get Josh as my server ever again, as I literally watched him being lazy and chilling in the back while the girls served his tables and we sat at one of his tables with no drinks. When we finally got our drinks, his mouth was full of food and he had a chick bring them to the table. He never talked and didn’t seem to know the menu at all : gave me wrong info on the salmon pricing and portion. Also, whoever cooks that garlic herb shrimp and actually puts the garlic chunks and cilantro in it has it going on! Hubby loves it and I wanna say, as a fellow professional cook, huge kudos to whoever makes it that way! I wish we could get this quality consistently with every shift, but I know every cook is different.
First of all, they accommodated our group in two tables, since we were unable to wait for a larger table. We really appreciated their patience and flexibility. Trent was our waiter. He was also patient with us as we had 4 kids and took awhile to figure out what we were going to order. He checked on us the perfect amount of times...not too bothersome, but also didnt forget about us...if that makes sense.
Food - i got chicken tenders, and the breading was terrible. I dont mind breading if it tastes good but this did not. Loved the fries. Everyone else seemed optimistic about their food.Bathrooms - Above average, very clean.Employees - Everyone was very friendly. The wait time could have been better, but the hospitality sort of made up for it in a way.
Great food and good pricing. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. They give you fresh baked rolls to eat while you wait wich are really good, but if you ask they will even bring you some corn bread to munch on. I would highly recommend the fried greed tomatoes if youre a fan, they are very good here. Ill definitely be back, thank you.
My friends and I met up for dinner at The Cotton Patch tonight. We come here quite often with anywhere from 4-10 people. The food was excellent and our server, Briana, did an excellent job with our party of eight. Our cups never ran low and our appetizer and rolls were brought out promptly after ordering. The manager checked on us after the meal to make sure we enjoyed our dining experience. This is our consistently good “go to” spot for dinner. Thank you Cotton Patch and keep up the good work!!!
The fish was ok, the fries were good. The waitress was nice. It was too cold to be enjoyable in the back room. Never go to Cotton Patch and sit in the back room unless you want to freeze. I like cool temperatures but it must have been in the high 50s or very low 60s. Really not pleasant. The table of 10 next to me even said they needed to go outside to thaw out.Why put your customers in such discomfort. Fix it please.
I would give 0 stars but wont let me we went in at 7:45 got seated ordered our food finally got our grilled pork chops. And my wife had a fried pork chop. Anyways we got our food at 9:27 my bake potato was only supposed to be butter and cheese only. Came out wrong my wifes pork chop had no gravey on it. Its one thing to wait over a hour and half for your food but then for it to be screwed up. Is just unacceptable. I will not be going back please take me off your email list.
When I called to place an order the girl I spoke with was extremely rude and had an attitude the whole time. I walk in to pick up my order and ask the same red headed girl I spoke with on the phone if they could warm up our food a little. Without saying anything back to me she gave me the dirtiest look while pulling away the bag to take it back to the cooks. I tried grabbing her attention when she walked back by but she just kept walking while on her phone. Worst worker there by far.
I live 30 miles out of Brownwood, so 60 miles round trip on a Friday night. Curbside order, ordered 2 Cobb salads and a ribeye. The ribeye was fine. The 2 cobb salads were basically 1 largely chopped head of each, some shredded carrot, a burned skimpy piece of chicken, bleu cheese crumbles, maybe a slice of crumbled bacon and a bit of tomato. Extremely disappointed. It sucked, and I wont be back. Not worth my time or money.
Second time in. Service was poor. People were friendly but our server disappeared for most of the meal. Only received an ounce or so of gravy for a full eleven dollar chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Wholly unacceptable. Had to ask for more. Daughter got very few fries. Server noticed and said she would bring more. Never did. Had to wait a long time to get the ticket so we could pay and leave. Another server had to find ours in order to get is a check. Food had been good both times. Service has been lousy but times.
It took 45 minutes to get our food. Server was ok, but never told us anything about our food until we asked her. We finally got our food, and the batter on my grandsons fish wasnt done. Manager took that meal off out ticket. No excuse for this type of waiting. They werent even busy. Several people got up and left. I have never had this happen before. Probably wont go back for a long time.
I havent been to a Cotton Patch Cafe in several years so when we saw one while on a trip to visit family we made it a point to stop in. Im glad we did. They have an excellent down-home style menu that the whole family could get excited about. I ordered one of my old favorites, chicken and dumplings, with seasoned broccoli and cinnamon baked apples. Literally everything I ate was fantastic. I cleaned everything off my plate. I also enjoyed the complimentary dinner rolls. My wife ordered the pork chops which she graciously allowed me to try and it too was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. We will definitely seek out other locations closer to home and visit more frequently.
Our group of six arrived at 12:00 and were seated. After waiting about ten minutes, we flagged a waitress. She took our orders and brought drinks. Then we waited about 40 minutes and again flagged a waitress and asked about our food. After anither ten minutes, we finally got our food. My chicken and dumplings had very little chicken. We were able to leave the restaurant at about 1:45. I’m not sure why the service was so slow. Needless to say, our group will probably not be back anytime soon.
I chose the Cajun Shrimp and Catfish combo. Some things were awesome, but sadly most were barely lukewarm, and not enough of it. Lets talk about the good first. The Cajun catfish was to die for in every way. Marcus, our waiter, was very attentive and personable. The broccoli casserole was good. The peach margaritas and the butter cake was very good. Now the bad. What was supposed to be a bed of fries was maybe 15, and they were not even warm. I did complain about this and was promptly brought out some very fresh, good tasting fries. Also, the shrimp, and the squash could not even be classified as warm.Im sorry, but when I go out and drop $50 for two meals, It really needs to hit all the marks, or Im not going to be happy. It is for this reason I give it just 2 stars.
Amy c waited on us she was Awesome!!!! She made my grandchildren so happy and excited. The food was super we had the chicken fries they were huge! We are back in town from Mo. again this weekend and guess were going for dinner! I just hope we are lucky enough to get Amy C again!😊
I ordered the chicken fried steak as take out. The steak was big and the mash potato and okra sides tasted fairly fresh. I really appreciated that they put the gravy in a container so that it would stay warm. They also added corn bread and rolls to my order and they were delicious.
The place is very inviting. The decor is well done. The food is precooked and portioned somewhere else. My fresh vegetables were accidentally served to me in a plastic bag. The waitress was obviously embarrassed. The waiter that sat us and also served our drinks, seemed to have a hard time keeping his hand out of the back of his pants. Im not sure what he was digging for, but I didnt want to wait to find out. It will not be a place on my list for next trip
Enjoyed the visit to this one. Havent always been happy with Cotton Patches. The chips and salsa they have is 😋 yummy. We had a chicken pasta dish that was tasty but man was they SKIMPY on the chicken breast it was almost like they take a half of a chicken breast then cut that in half and thats what you get on top. So dont expect much chicken but what was there was really good.
The food took forever to arrive. When it did arrive, items were missing. The quality of the food was poor. Our server was bad. He skipped one of our group, did not bring things we asked for repeatedly, and continued to pester us about whether or not we were done with our food. Even trying to take plates of food we hadn’t started eating yet, asking if we were done when we clearly hadn’t started. And to top it all off, the price was extremely high for the food and service we received. The whole experience was extremely unpleasant.
Wait staff was great. Food on the other hand left a lot to desire. Fried pickles were cold. Onion strings were over cooked to the point they were black. The salmon was only seared on the outside. Inside was cold to the touch. Order took over an hour to cook. Manager on duty said it was because of new items on menu. Service personal were doing everything they could but were not receiving any help from management unless customers asked.
I can honesy say its hard to come by a restaurant with great food and great service. But I dont think there is a better place in town than cotton patch. When your waitress comes up with a big smile on there face and is constantly making sure you get the attention and hospitality you deserve it definitely makes it easier to sit and enjoy your meal and focus on your family rather than if you are out of tea. Thank you nikky kamitchis keep up the hard work Ill for sure be back again to see that wonderful smile and eat that amazing food.
By far okay! The fish was good hands down but the pork chops were a different story. Good seasoning and all but I just dont know about the meat. It was mainly fat or just a bad piece I got or just to thin! I recommend the fish or something else besides the pork chops!
I was not pleased with the food I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and it was extra crispy and lots of hard fried batter made it hard to eat. Plus I wanted a slice of chocolate pie which is advertised special about ten minutes later waitress comes back and says they do not have any prepared and are currently out. I find this interesting on Saturday evening 530 pm dinner started and dessert not prepared. Just not pleased with the visit
Nice place very clean . Food was good. Good selection of menu items. Very attentive waitress. Only problem for me was we had to wait about 30 minutes for food to arrive at table. Had a grilled chicken salad and the blackened tilapia over bed of rice with sides of mushrooms and steamed veggies. Tilapia was delicious.
Sat for 20 min and never had anyone even acknowledge us. Servers walked by and never made eye contact, no drinks, nothing. The manager was cooking and bringing checks up then yelled at a lady because she said her party had been waiting over an hour. He yelled at her stating she could just get up and walk out.
This place is so clean , food is fresh and hot, staff was amazing . Our sever Meagan was AMAZING she made sure all My family’s needs were meet ! We didn’t have to ask for refills or anything, she was on it without hesitation ! Her attitude was great and had the personality of sometime who truly loves their job ! I hardly ever write reviews but I honestly felt like she needed to be recognized for her hard work ! If your on a long road trip passing through (like we were) or just a resident of Brownwood I highly recommend you stoping by to enjoy their yummy food ! Thank you Meagan for your unbelievable customer service! We will definitely be back in the near future !With Love .-The Cropp Family
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I hadn’t heard much about it so I kept my expectations low. I was quite impressed. The food was great the service was good and the prices were reasonable. If I ever pass through Brownwood again, this is definitely on the list.
We had a great server, Nick. Very prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive in filling our drinks throughout the whole service. What we ordered:Me: sirloin steak, medium-rare and a loaded baked potato with ADDITIONAL butter and sour cream on the side.My husband: sirloin steak, medium-rare with veggies. What we received: I have to mention here that I have a black pepper allergy and was very clear that its not that I dont like black pepper, I have a reaction when I ingest any. My steak came with lots of black pepper. The food runner, who had a nasty attitude just dropping off our food, snipped that my baked potato will be an additional 3 minutes. I very kindly told her I have a pepper allergy, which the kitchen knew, and please need a new one. Our server inadvertently walked by, saw the steak, apologized and took it away.My husbands steak was overly saturated with black pepper (he LOVES pepper) but said its far too much to take. On top of that, his steak was prepared medium-WELL. It was mostly grey. None of the steaks on their menu are advertised as blackened but my husbands certainly was.A female manager came to check on our food (she didnt introduce herself) and I giggled and said, I have no way of knowing. She only said, Yeah, sorry about that. Yours will be out soon. I then nicely showed her my husbands hockey puck of a steak (he ate 2 bites) and showed her the caked pepper - she did not have much of a reaction. Having managed restaurants in a previous life (and understanding just how important customer satisfaction is these days, especially since we now have the power of Internet reviews) I completely expected her to check back on us after my steak finally came out - she did not.About 20 minutes in to when the food initially was brought out, my steak finally came. Although super dry because they had to cook it on the fly, it was prepared as I ordered it, medium-rare. The loaded baked potato had ZERO butter on it (I looked under the cheese and sour cream), and it was a very large potato; so, without a single bit of butter, it would be exceptionally dry. Not only that, the additional butter and sour cream I originally asked for did not come. I waited several minutes until our server came to check on us and asked him for the butter and sour cream. I really wish I would have had the forethought to snap a pic. It was comical. There was a very small smear of butter in the side cup and maybe, to be generous, 1 Tbsp. of sour cream in the other side cup. This kitchen staff needs serious training! The whole service (aside from our very friendly and competent server) was a comedy of errors from the beginning and we just wanted to leave at that point so I didnt say anything. I buttered the top 5 mm (not exaggerating) of the very large baked potato and went on with my meal. The manager was well aware of the terribly poor excuse of a meal we both had and charged us for everything, even the 2-bite steak - not even an offer for a complimentary dessert. Hello? Thats restaurant management 101 - you always do the following: 1) Ask the patron if they would like to change meals or have it replaced. If they turn that down, 2) Offer a complimentary dessert. If they turn that down, 3) Comp the uneaten meal. None of that was offered. I think the management needs additional training as well. This review is rated 2 stars, ONLY because our server, Nick, is talented - otherwise, Id give only 1. I think he needs to step up his game and work at a more high-end establishment. Also, the staff, including the manager, at this restaurant should take some pointers from that server, as he seems to be the only one that understands the hospitality industry. We were very perturbed about the whole experience; but understand that sometimes youre just going to have a very bad meal, so we werent rude or angry, we just rolled with the punches, paid for our meals, then left. Needless to say, we will not be back.
I recently visited your store, as i have many times in the past. This time my girlfriend and i was waited on by a young lady named ashley. I never leave reviews on sites like this, but this young lady was very pilote and met our every need and want. Not only was she on top of her game, she made time to go the extra mile and chat with us for a minute and did it all with a smile like we wasnt just a paycheck for her. She seemed to really enjoy her job. Im not sure uf its even possible to request a certain waitress when visiting a resturant, but i would Definetly reccommend this young lady to anyone who wants to dine at cotton patch.. Sge definitely made our lunch hr exciting and delightful. It was just what we needed after a rough morning at work. Thank you very much miss ashley for your great great customer service.
Im giving 4 stars because the fried shrimp meal was below my expected standards. The shrimp was good but barely battered in a cornmeal covering. The french fries were oversalted and dry and not a decent amount. I called the manager over and explained weve eaten here before with wonderful results. He gave me fresh french fries not salted and some shrimp. I felt better about my experience. However if the first plate is what i can expect in the future for this meal i wont order it anymore. Shame too because the shrimp was pretty decent.

2022-06-25We had a party of 10. The food was all brought out close to the same time. I did not hear any complaints from anyone in our group. The waitress was kind and gave us great service. Reasonably priced and large portions cant beat that. The bathroom could been cleaner but not filthy.

2022-05-23We Came here to eat 05/21/2022 because I had never been to a CPC restaurant and I was highly disappointed, we got our meals and my husband got the fried brisket he poured the gravy on one and bbq sauce on the other went to take a bite and there was a BUG on his plate crawling on the gravy! He took his plate to the waitress she had him bring it back to the table then came and got it and brought him another plate, lost our appetite and boxed our food up and paid and left

2022-02-24My friend and I had lunch at the Brownwood location today. I was craving fried green tomatoes and my friend had the chicken fried steak. We were not disappointed! My tomatoes were golden, hot and crispy and really hit the spot, and my friend is still talking about how delicious and tender her steak was. Our server was Beth, and she was excellent! Friendly, efficient and took great care of us!

2021-04-25This is a step up from Dennys on prices, somewhat on portions but still the same quality. As the service was great I do wish they would say what size the cornbread was very disappointing including the taste of it with very generic the only thing I could really say that was good and worth the price is CHICKEN FRIED PORK SANDWICH. But fast food and decent price is the only reason this place is thriving
