Checked in for a stay while traveling. Good thing is that this area is fairly bustling but not loud in rooms which was very nice. Accessible room is very large with more than enough space. Noticed that a decorative table was a little dusty but no other cleanliness issues to note other than the sink was a little stopped but other bathroom items were great. Was a little pricey, but seemed to be fairly standard for the area. Parking was tricky and the garage was full but attendant stated that you can park in the designated lot, which was actually a very short (less than 3 min) walk from lobby and probably a less walk to get to car than elsewhere in parking garage. It is a small area but we found parking easily even though hotel seemed to probably be full. Because nightlife is going I felt comfortable parking in the garage since there was lighting and people, otherwise I would not have felt as comfortable as it’s a little dark and there’s a lot of alleyways. Would have liked better signage out and around. If you are unfamiliar with area you are bound to walk to the wrong door or not find proper parking at the street upon check in. Locked doors at night which is nice for protection. Toiletries at front desk along with a fully stocked mini store downstairs with a lot of food and other items to purchase. Lobby was nice and there was a Starbucks mentioned downstairs but did not go to it. There is a mini fridge and coffee station and beds were stocked with pillow request and extra towels. Comfortable stay for a traveler with plenty space to boot. Only gripe would probably be parking.
I am thankful to the staff. They are the epitome of professionalism. We enjoyed having a Starbucks on site. We really enjoyed the views from the 10th floor. The stay was so good I didnt want to come home. Absolutely the best Marriott hotel. I am thankful that the historic building has been preserved.
The staff here are very friendly, I like to call ahead and I always get to speak to Yolanda. Yolanda is always respectful cheerful and ready to help me. I usually get there in the evenings or afternoon and I am always greeted and helped promptly. Jane and Jake at the front desk are friendly and willing to do what they need to do to insure you enjoy your stay. This is my first choice when it comes to hotels in Amarillo.
This location is super clean and the rooms are extra large. Andrew, who works the front desk, is extremely good at his job. He was personable and very professional. He did everything from greet/check in to mopping floors and vacuuming. He basically looked around and took care of anything that needed to be taken care of. We felt like VIPs.
My husband and I stayed here after an 11 day, 7 state vacation. We met some friends downtown Amarillo for dinner. Loved the convenient location, the quietness of the area, and the plush room that we stayed. It reminded me of old fashioned hotels, before they became super businesses. It was like staying with a good friend. We loved it, and loved Amarillo!
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! We were a few minutes away from downtown, the police precinct, and the minor league field to name a few highlights. We walked to some local food scenes, and had a great time! The hotel was clean and all of the staff we encountered were courteous, even helping us to obtain a later checkout since our plans changed. I highly recommend them for your lodging needs.
Excellent location for a night’s stay on our way to Santa Fe/Colorado vacation. We were able to get all 5 of us comfortably into one one (2 queens + sofa bed).Extremely clean and nice to walk around the very quiet downtown (we were there on a Saturday night). For families: Courtyard doesn’t offer free breakfast. However, as a Platinum Elite we got $20 credit for breakfast. Rooms do have mini-fridge and we used the microwave downstairs to heat up some food we had for dinner. It was only 20K Bonvoy Points for a free night! If this property was in another location it would be many, many more points.
I stayed two nights on business. The hotel needs to do a small token item for Elite members like a snack or bottle of water. Competition does it. The bistro was also closed my first morning so I had to go out to get breakfast. The staff was great though and hotel extremely clean. NBA basketball was on and the lobby was inactive. Perhaps a small bar and some activities to attract an evening crowd might be good. There are plenty of decent restaurants around the hotel so you can find a meal. Overall, my stay was good.
This hotel is located in a good location at Downtown Amarillo, Texas, but dont expect the service to be very good as the staff is rarely willing to help, and housekeeping wont be made during your entire stay, nor trash will be taken off your room. Also dont expect much in the sense of having any food service at this hotel as their cafeteria is completely closed and the only thing that they have available is a market that hasnt many product variability to choose from. Also the hotel is in an urgent need of maintenance as the corridors, elevators and rooms look very old and filthy. All in all I would only recommend this hotel for its location but nothing else.
Management staff needs some improvement to say the least. I am a contractor with a large company and have titanium elite status with Marriott. The managment on site this week was rude and unfriendly. I was here the week before as well but had no issues since it seemed no management was on site for my late arrival/check in. The general staff is great, but given poor management, Id stay at another Marriott property next time, or possibly a Hilton property given I hold diamond status with them as well. (Point being, I travel for work often and spend more than enough on travel expenses) So dealing with management that obviously hates corporate money and/or corporate discounted rates is not worth my time. So if your traveling for business, Id book another property to avoid the hassle here.
Parking garage was full the guy said they have more rooms than they do parking. Room was nice but the beds were horrible. Very hard and the pull out sofa was like sleeping in the springs. No sheets for the pull out had to wait 30 min for someone to bring them up. They do not keep them in the room. We were on the 8th floor and it was very noise both from in the hotel and outside. There is some sort of club across the street. Cops where parked all over the place and they employee said they are always there at that place. The walls are paper thin. Heard people going to the bathroom, snoring, talking, you name it we heard it. For 180.00 I would not expect to pay for parking at any hotel. Elevators and floors throughout where dirty. There are also no complementary breakfast items. Lots of homeless people around the hotel. It does have a nice view though.
Very pleasant one night stay recently. The staff at this well maintained and clean property were very courteous. Didnt have much interaction with them but they seemed happy to be doing what they do.Stayed in a corner suite which provided ample room and a very nice view.Convenient property located within walking distance to everything downtown.Ill be passing through Amarillo multiple times over the next few years and will make this my goto property!
I am starting to see a pattern. The pandemic must be forcing these high rise hotels with central climate controls to shut off. It was unseasonably cold and the temperature at night was close to 30 degrees Fahrenheit and the heat didn’t turn on all night. They comped me for the night, but I’d rather have paid for a warm night respite. I wish they would have provided other means for customers to keep warm. Extra comforters? Electric heater maybe? The room was very clean and efficient.
Their was a really creepy homeless men about 2-3 by the entrance. He was yelling stuff towards us when we arrived and unloaded our car. We left and went to dinner. When we returned the homeless man was still there yelling at us. It was very concerning. The room was okay, there wasn’t enough towels which was annoying. But overall it was nice, we were expecting more access to water and drinks. We had to go all the way downstairs to the lobby to get drinks. Also the fridge was small. And we were hoping that the room came with a safe rather than us having to go downstairs and request it.
I stayed here twice in August/September on a road trip to/from Colorado. Its a good stopping place along the way. They have covered parking for $12/night. The hotel was clean - which was important due to COVID-19; less clean on the second stay. Check your towels and sheets before you use them! Didnt use any hotel amenities, but check-in was easy and staff was friendly.
I did not stay here. I was trying to block off some rooms for a company Christmas party. I was told the hotel cannot block off more than 50 rooms because they only have 107 rooms and they have to save rooms for their ambassadors, etc. And the price per room I was given for the block of 50 was higher than if I booked them all online. So...no discount for going direct. I was very disappointed!! My company has used them many times in the past. We will go elsewhere in the future.
I want to say a big thanks to Andrew B. for taking care of us tonight! We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room and we got a note saying we got a complimentary suite upgrade! Top floor, corner room with tons of space for all 5 of us to spread out! Thank you so much! It was such a blessing!
I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!First, we had to go to the front desk 2 times due to non-working keys. Then, our toilet was not flushing properly. Since the hotel does not have maintenance staff on call, we had to move rooms at 11:00 at night. And now…the shower in the new room has mold/dirt in the corners. Disgusting!
This hotel is in a prime location that gives it a competitive edge versus the other hotels in the city. This hotel, with its location in the historical district of Amarillo gives you the experience of the small bet yet vibrant Texas Panhandle city. The rooms are very well kept, and very reasonably priced. Polk street is teaming with amazing restaurants within easy walking distances of this beautiful hotel.
My husband and I traveled for business, and stayed here. We had a great time, and were within walking distance of some great eateries and bars. We were also centrally located near all of the places we needed to go for our job interviews. The only complaint I have is that the gate code worked the first day, but not any day afterwards. Otherwise, it was a great hotel and well be staying here again!
Mrs. and I just stayed one night to get away. Room was beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of amenities, and within walking distance of all the best spots downtown for great food and drinks. Even in freezing temps in the Texas Panhandle. Will definitely be doing it again, and strongly recommend to anyone going to Amarillo. Staff could not have been better!
This is a historic building in downtown Amarillo, it’s about the nicest hotel in Amarillo. The downtown area is just beginning to awaken from Covid so several places were still restricted but many places close to the hotel are open. The hotel is clean, easy in & out plus comfortable.
Not what I expected. The website shows comfy pillows on the sofa, I had no pillows. And as for the bathroom, it clearly has not been touched in the renovations which is probably why no photos are on their site except for the handicap accessible. I asked for body wash and extra shampoo/conditioner to be in my room 10 hrs before I arrived, but this was not done. Front desk staff were friendly which is a positive.
I was there for a convention. The room was better then expected. Clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and minimal noise was heard. The evening Bistro staff was great. The morning Bistro staff was a different story. The lady was rude, did not smile, hardly spoke, and acted as if ordering a bagel and a bottle water was an inconvenience. Next time I will stay at a different hotel and commute to the conference.
My family was kept awake by a band that plays outside until 2am. When I called the front desk to ask about it they said this was the normal night life there, but they did not warn of this on their website. The purpose our stay was to get rest for another day of driving, so it was very disappointing to have the room be so loud that none of the 4 people in my family could sleep.
It was ok. I am not familiar with the area and did not realize that we would be hearing the patrons and music from the local saloon so late into the night on a Wednesday. It did not bother my kids, however. The fold out bedhad some food stains on the sheet. That was an unpleasant discovery. They charge $12 per night to park in the garage.
Parking is a problem. There is no pool or hot tub. No coffee in the lobby. If I wanted Starbucks coffee and food I can go to Starbucks. Previously prepared, over priced food. All in all it was not a good value.Room rates were higher than nearby hotels and amenities were less than nearby hotels.
Decent hotel, pretty nice upgrades to an old building. That said the shower water temp and water pressure is not good. Either too hot or too cold, and never enough water pressure. Gym not bad. Could have easier access to hotel from parking lot, you have to use the stairs down then back up, not great with luggage. Pretty quiet for being downtown, but could be even better I think.
Really nice hotel. Great staff and modern rooms. I always enjoy a good breakfast buffet so that would’ve been nice but the cafe was great. Really surprised at how good the food was. I would’ve like more access to vending machines on each floor instead of the snack bar downstairs. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the water and cookies in the lobby. The decor was great and we even enjoyed a game of Tic Tac Toe.
This hotel is on a busy street and from our room we could hear every noise from neighbors to street noise! Not much rest and it was almost impossible to enter the hotel ( a car parade occurred at our arrival time) and the noise from cars and spectators/other guests was over the top.
Best decision this hotel ever made making MATT The manager. He goes above and beyond for guests. As far as to even walk and sanitize the rooms before his guests enter. To make sure that everything is in tip top shape! I love and appreciate a hardworking spirit. And I know that this young man is going places in the Marriott family!!!! Pay attention Marriott, you have a Treasure working for you and representing you! I give this place 5 stars just because of the manager Matt! When we got to the hotel, the rooms needed some cleaning and this young man was working hard to get the rooms cleaned and sanitized himself. Helping his staff getting the work done all while serving his guests at the front desk, checking people in. Welcoming guests. We have never been so impressed!!!
The hotel is lovely, everything was nice and easy - but the bed was hard as a rock. Large good quality TV, lots of hot water, ice machine on every floor, smelled ok (as opposed to those who dont smell good! - you know what I mean - the hallways stink!) Had a nice makeup mirror, and a good, comfortable chair to sit in so you dont have to sit on the bed. Tub was a little narrow and skinny, but at least there was a tub! Towels were good. Fridge but no microwave. 1 cup coffee maker in the room. Has a little convenience store in the lobby which is nice if you want a little snack or drink @ night. We didnt eat there, but there is a restaurant on sight. Parking garage was easy (and free). In the heart of downtown, with other restaurants within walking distance. Staff was lovely.
Nice old building, well renovated. However, staff attitude is not welcoming. Upon late check-in, we called down as there were no complimentary bottled water. We have always had these as part of the room cost. However when we called down we got a non-chalant response. We have run out but you can buy from the store. No effort to deliver customer service. Will not recommend this hotel nor will I choose Marriott Courtyard chain in the future, if this is how badly customer service has declined.
The hotel is nice, but it was missing some of the little touches that can make a hotel really stand out. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable, and our stay (2 adults, 2 kids) was perfectly pleasant. The parking was in a garage connected to the hotel, but it was kind of awkward to get to your car easily. My biggest complaint, if you can call it that, was that although the hotel was fast from full and we booked well in advance, they have us a room in the second floor with probably the worst view Ive ever had in a hotel. The window was level with a floor of the parking garage. Its a good thing I dont stay in Amarillo for the views.
Great hotel, perfect location right on Polk street, walking distance from all the restaurants & bars. Perfect place to have a small City downtown experience. The parking is $12 per night, well worth it when the parking is in the parking garage which is a little more secure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and check was a breeze and check out was the same. Highly recommend this hotel.
Such a nice hotel! Very clean room!We stayed in July and were happy to see that employees are wearing masks, rooms are extremely clean and we didn’t worry about getting a virus there. We liked the view from our room! We stayed in a King room with a street view on the 5th floor - such a bright room! I like that during COVID all the bars seemed to be closed, so it was quite during the night.Highly recommend!
First of all I only stayed at this location because a business relation had suggested that and that was where he was playing to stay when we were meeting up with him there. Of course all of our group likes to drink and after we checked in we found out that the Bristo / restaurant / bar was not open while we were there because of covid, however the Marriott website does not tell you this. Also found out that there little Starbucks Coffee area is only open on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and we were there on Tuesday Morning through Thursday morning. Again something that would have been nice if the website would have said so. I asked the people at the front desk where they suggested for dinner, and they gave us some good ideas, however they did not tell us that only certain restaurants were open on certain evenings. We ended up walking a couple blocks to a suggested restaurant just to find out that they were closed on Tuesday evening. When I checked in and got up to the room of course I looked things over, and found somebody elses hair still in the bathtub. So I questioned what else did they miss while cleaning. However Yolanda at the front desk was awesome and getting me another room for my troubles, even though it was the same exact room. The bed was harder than a brick and I probably would have slept better on the floor. Also the windows in the room are very drafty. Also I would not recommend buying a bottle of beer from their cooler next to the front desk unless you enjoy paying close to $7 a bottle.
Needed a place to stay between Colorado and home (Austin) for one night. A quick google of a Marriott in Amarillo brought me to this hotel and Im so glad I picked it. It was absolutely wonderful! Great, easy access location with a secure parking garage. So nicely updated, very clean and our room was huge. Would have been so happy to stay another night or two!
Was a midpoint stop on my way to pick up kids in college in the Dallas area, who had been ordered and had less than 48 hours to pack up their dorms and move out due to the Coronavirus. We live in NM and have stayed at this hotel before. They had taken extra measures to insure the safety of everyone. I was very impressed and relieved as I was nervous about staying in a hotel amidst the virus, but this hotel really went above and beyond and completely resolved my fears. I got a great night’s sleep and had the energy to get to Dallas, take care of our kids and get them home!Love this place!!!!
I was very pleased with the room, especially the size of the bathroom. However, the lavatory drained very slowly, the drain handle was out of adjustment.Breakfast was a joke. Starbucks is NOT my idea of a breakfast place, wwaayy too Fru Fru. We ate there the 1st morning but went out to Waffle House the other 2 mornings.Front Desk Staff was very helpful. They steered us to an excellent Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Best Burrito Ive has a very long time.
This hotel is amazing. It has been updated and has the look of feel of a modern hotel in an historic building. Staff was pleasant and my room was very impressive. I had great views of downtown and felt like I had a lot of privacy. The parking situation needs to be addressed as the elevator/entrance is on the first floor. I stayed on the fourth floor and when I parked on the second floor of the parking garage, I had to walk down stairwell then take the elevator back up. Thankfully the hotel wasnt packed or Im sure Id have to walk down from the third level to the first. They should really look into a more secured entrance from the parking garage from the level that youre on. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I checked in. However, when I checked out, I left a pair of expensive headphones in my room. I called that afternoon to report it, but they couldnt check the lost and found or safe until the manager came in. I called everyday for the next 3-4 days and received the same excuse or that the head housekeeper was out and wouldnt be in for awhile. Finally I gave up as Im sure the room was occupied by someone else and more than likely they found them and kept them. I still have yet to receive a call back from anyone just as a courtesy followup.
This is an average place to visit. It doesnt have a pool or hot tub. It does have a place to workout. We stayed in an handicap room. It had plenty of space and were a family of 5. There is a lot of restaurants nearby. The have Paul Mitchell products for the bathroom and Wifi.
I live in Amarillo, but I had previously booked a room for out of state guests at this hotel. When I arrived on June 20th, I was immediately greeted at the front counter and the room was confirmed. When my guests arrived, the manager walked by and engaged them in conversation. After finding out that they were in town from out of state taking their daughter to college orientation, she upgraded their room so they would be more comfortable! This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and great management. If you love the feel of a downtown atmosphere and want to be treated like royalty, this is a great place to stay!
Great room. Layout included extra closet space which I liked. I didnt need the space this time, but good to know for future events. The room missed complimentary water bottles and a safe, but I worked around this. Bathroom sink counter would be better as a straight edge rather than the swoop. The sink felt far from the edge of the counter. Those are the worst issues I could possibly list. Everything else worked perfectly. The room was quiet and efficient. Internet went down for a time and prevented me from being able to work for a period, but that was due to an area wide outage according to the front desk. I didnt eat meals at the hotel, but appreciated the snack, drink and sundry items available in the lobby. There are a few food options within walking distance of the hotel.
The bed is too firm. Felt like sleeping on a board. Boyfriend and I both had back pain both nights from uncomfortable bed. Little sofa in room would be okay if there were cushions for back, but without the back cushions it is awkward to sit on, and definitely not comfortable. Disappointed that Courtyard/Marriott doesnt make rooms more comfortable for travelers. Expected more from this chain.
We recently had the opportunity to stay at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Amarillo, Texas. While the downtown area is undergoing some renovations, our hotel was awesome. It is an old historic building that has been renovated into a modern hotel. Our double room with a sofa was very spacious and clean. We stay in hotels a lot and rarely have rooms this spacious. We did ask for an upper floor and even though you overlook other buildings, our view of the city was still good. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We found some good restaurants within a block, but there is also food service in the hotel. Self-parking was at the hotel and very convenient and easy.
The hotel was very nice, clean and modern decor. Only wish the would have welcomed my dog. Dogs are family members for many travelers. In the future, I will only be staying at dog-friendly properties. I don’t mind paying for the privilege and certainly guaranteeing that my dog doesn’t cause damage. I hope this hotel will update its policy in this regard.
We stayed July 4th for our 1st anniversary. EVERYTHING about our stay was awesome. From the early check in and the GORGEOUS VIEW , beautiful roses, rose petals on the bed, and champagne in the room...the staff was so nice and made sure we were always happy. Our breakfast the following morning in the Bistro was *really good* and the Starbucks coffee topped it off perfectly. Thank you for making our night so special!!
We had a block of rooms at the hotel for our sons wedding. It was a perfect stay. The beds are comfortable and air conditioning kept us cool. Rooms were big so our family and friends could come in our room and have a place to sit on a couch. The staff handed out our hotel gift boxes to the guest that stayed at the hotel for the wedding. It had a great place to meet in the mornings for breakfast. We loved the location of the hotel because we could walk to night spots after the Rehearsal Dinner and wedding without having to drive anywhere again.
We found old crusted over blood on our bedding and told the front desk and they offered us some snacks for compensation! We then called management and only got 15% of our stay compensated. During Covid cleanliness should be of the most importance and it wasn’t! And then the staff tried to blame me it on us!
This was a nice hotel despite the outward appearance ( Its a historic landmark) the rooms were nice and updated. There were a couple stains on the carpet they could have taken care of though. Dont let the entrance intimidate you because the garage entrance is not very nice, but once you get past that its a very nice hotel. The desk gal was very helpful and nice too.
This hotel was clean and all of the staff was friendly/professional. The fitness center was larger than most - 2 ellipticals & 2 treadmills along with weights & a ball. All the machines were clean & in working condition, The internet was fast. The rooms were clean and LARGE! I was very comfortable here! It is right downtown so I was within walking distance of dining and things to do at night. I was told not to venture too far from the hotel at night as there is a tougher area of town about 6 blocs away.
I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The building is old but the hotel feels comfortable and vibrant. The rooms are an excellent size and the layout is great! Right down the road is a fantastic wine bar called Crush - great food, Atmosphere and drinks and an excellent recommendation from the hotel staff!
We stayed for 2 nights in downtown Amarillo. Not much there, but the Marriott was very comfortable, fresh and friendly. It was in the center of town so everything was easy to access. There were many eateries within walking a few blocks. The staff was great with any request. The lobby was a good place to meet and welcoming. Will definitely stay there next time we are in town to visit. We would have never left the hotel if they had a find dinning or outdoor / patio dinning area.
For the price, I was not impressed. There is no extra service provided. You are basically paying a higher price just to have a downtown view (and that is if you agree to pay more for the room with a view). The food and drinks at the bar were good, but there wasnt a person taking your order at your table. You had to stand at a counter to order your food - not very upscale. The room was great! Beautiful view and nice linens. However, that is it. There is NO additional services provided to the guests.
I was very impressed with the staff at the Marriott in Downtown Amarillo. They assisted me with several issues I encountered, including a credit card problem and the need to print out some last minute documents for the work trip I was on. Very impressed with the professionalism and graciousness of the staff at this hotel. It was also a nice location, across the street from several restaurants and with easy access to the highway. The decor was attractive and the room was quiet and comfortable, with lots of closet space and a nice desk/couch area. I ate in the hotel bar for one mornings breakfast, and was pleased with the bacon, eggs, and fruit I ordered. I would definitely stay at this hotel for any future travel to Amarillo.
Historic location, has all the amenities you would expect. We only stayed one night, but since we got there at midnight, the (already far too small) parking lot was full. Just know in advance the maximum clearance for the lot is 7 feet. We saw a guy who had bins in a rack atop his vehicle, and they hit the ceiling. This undoubtedly caused him quite the headache, so plan in advance to make acertain that your automobile shall fit
Thank you for being available for us to stay sort of late. I loved this place, clean and roomy is the best description of our room. The employees are so nice and they were more than happy to help in any way they could, not that we had any issues. Again, Thank you Courtyard!
You have to pay to park which is weird for a Marriott and they didn’t have coffee in the morning. The water pressure is bad and the toilets are too small (I’m 160lbs)The walls are paper thin and the whole place is begging for a remodelingThat’s said, for a hotel it’s decently better then a lot of others
My wife and I stayed here for our tenth anniversary in February. It was not a busy weekend in Amarillo, so the hotel was pretty quiet. It is a beautiful hotel in the revitalized historic Fisk building in downtown Amarillo. They did an absolutely fabulous job on the revitalization. We stayed in a corner suite overlooking 8th and Polk. The location was fun, not just another hotel out on the interstate or next to the airport. They have done an excellent job keeping the inside looking and feeling new and clean. The staff we encountered were wonderful and friendly. There are fun eating esablishments and bars just right across the street that we enjoyed trying out. The hotel has a nice little bistro/coffee shop that we tried out one of the mornings. I hope to stay there again when we get another weekend alone.
Very clean, however there is zero hot water. First morning it took 15 minutes and it was finally warm, but that afternoon it would not warm up. Second morning it ran for half an hour and never got off of freezing cold. Pretty pathetic that you pay this price and cannot have warm water.
I’m a local and decided to take my wife here for a quick overnight retreat to celebrate our anniversary. This is a great hotel, located in the perfect spot in downtown Amarillo! It’s within walking distance to several great restaurants, a few cool bars, and has the best views in Amarillo (request the downtown view). The service was great too. Friendly staff, and clean rooms. The food and beverage service was wonderful too. Everything from full-service food, a Starbucks, plus a convenient walk-up snack bar full of goodies! Amy wife and I 100% recommend this hotel!
We stopped on the way home from vacation. There was no rooms available except for the Courtyard downtown. Great for us. We had another couple with us and we all enjoyed the hotel. We ate across the street at the Mexican Restaurant, it was Saturday night and the food was great and lots of people coming and going on the street. We seat our side and it was fun. The servers at the Restaurant were very nice. The girl behind the hotel desk told us places to eat that were good. She was very helpful. We didnt stay for breakfast because we wanted servers. So we ate at IHOP. We would have eaten there if there had a sit down restaurant. The hotel was a good place and we will stay again.
My recent stay downtown Amarillo at the Courtyard was comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was a snap allowing for just fruit and coffee and something more on the second day. Staff very pleasant and helpful and had no compunction guiding us to restaurants around the city. The rooms are a nice size and the bed is comfortable. Would be nice to have an alarms other than a telephone call but maybe thats what tablets are for.
For the price I was expecting a lot more. I did not like the location of our room (205) with the window facing right out to the parking lot. There were people walking by frequently so we couldnt have any natural light in the room without giving up our privacy. This was a stay for my husband and Is first year anniversary which I planned and I wasnt very pleased to be honest. For the price of the room I was expecting robes and the option for room service. There were minor issues with the breakfast we ordered from downstairs and had to go pick up. I expected better location for the price. I do not feel that our room and our experience was worth the amount we paid.
Very cool building! Clean room and lobby. Very comfortable. The staff was friendly at the front desk, but the restaurant staff was pitiful. The front desk gave some great recommendations for places to visit and places to eat. My room was on the 6th floor with some nice double window views. The room was clean and spacious. I really like that this hotel has traditional doors into the bathroom and toilet, not those pocket/sliding doors. Beds and pillows were comfortable, Hvac worked without issue, and shower water pressure was great. ***Noise*** the club across the street kept me tossing and turning for all THREE nights we were there. Very disappointed by this. Even with ear plugs I couldn’t sleep and was up till at least 3am. One of my colleagues slept in a room at the other end of the hall and did not have this problem. If we visit Amarillo again and stay here, I will ask for a room furthest from the street regardless of the view.*** Overall the hotel was nice, I wish they served a free breakfast, and their restaurant needs a new manager.
Ive stay at this property whenever I come to Amarillo and always found it to be a great place to stay. Nicely renovated historic building, with an exceptional staff to help with a customers every need. The Bistro is a great great place to grab a quick meal late or for breakfast in the morning. Room was updated, clean, spacious, and most importantly, a comfy bed and pillows! I also like that they do not charge to park in their garage. This hotel will continue to be the only place I will stay when passing through Amarillo.
Avoid. My son was booked there on a business trip. Reservation was made in business name. Registration staff very rude. Would not honor because he did not have that business card. They called me, business owner, and I authorized. They still declined. He offered his business credit card but it had his middle and last name (he goes by middle name) and initially they were going to decline as well. I spoke with them, advised them I have stayed over 1100 nights at Marriott in the last 7 years and assured them I would notified Marriott. Was informed by registration clerk that they are a franchise and could care less if I called Marriott. The kicker was the agent disparaging him in Spanish to a janitor unbeknownst to them that he is fluent in Spanish. When I complained the manager responded defending her clerk and their/his actions. This is the second problem we had with this site. We will not have them again though.
I want everyone to know a little secret in Amarillo. If you have a chance to stay at this hotel do so. Even though it is an old building built in 1926 it is unbelievable. The entire staff is exceptional. Request a City view room and try to get the highest floor you can. We stayed on the 8th floor (Room 812) and at night opening the blinds and looking out will impress you. You just dont want to leave. Been to New York, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Orlando and San Francisco and stayed at some pretty nice places but this place is now my favorite. They have a happy hour which is nice and have great food as well. You can always go to Acapulcos across the street for great Mexican food and off of the beaten path is Napolis Italian Restaurant which is several blocks away and is awesome as well. I just wish I could give more than 5 stars. A place I will never forget.Trey
Place is nice. Nice rooms . Would have rated it like a 4 or 5 but stayed a few days ago and got another charge today. Expedia charged me on the day I stayed ,now 4 days later the Courtyard Marriott charged me again. Called them and they said oops, sorry. Well credit it back. When I stay somewhere or spend money somewhere I dont expect to be their bookkeeper too. So next time I wont be staying here.
Easy and convenient parking. Room was clean and modern. Larger than normal bathroom. Conveniently located across the street from a great spot called Crush. I would definitely stay here again when Im in Amarillo.Stayed here again in Oct 2018 and had some charge room service to my room. I didnt catch it until I was already out of state and had my receipt emailed to me. So I paid $12 for someone elses meal. Then, in Jan 2019, stayed again to discover they new charge $12/night for parking. Ill now be staying elsewhere when I return to Amarillo.
My husband and I came to this hotel for an anniversary weekend. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms seemed newly renovated. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were some restaurants and bars nearby we enjoyed. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!
Not a large selection of decent hotels in downtown Amarillo, but this Courtyard is an easy choice. Good location within walking distance of restaurants. Cafe in the lobby has a decent selection and the food is good (though a little expensive). Have only eaten breakfast there, but their night menu looks good also. Not a huge hotel, and the service is generally pretty good. The rooms with king beds tend to be tight with little room on either side of the bed, but has a nice sitting area. Got a room with two queens this trip and the room felt much larger. Bathrooms are OK - I dont care for where the sink is placed - set too close to the mirror making it a long reach to the sink when brushing teeth. Overall, a nice hotel with good amenitites and will definitely be staying there each trip I make to Amarillo.
We came here to Amarillo for 2 nights. Friday night for The Nutcracker and Saturday night for a company Christmas party. We were told that this was a great hotel to stay at. They didnt lie it is a nice hotel and the people are friendly. Theres a few things that were kind of disappointing:#1-there is no microwave in the room. My husband said theres one downstairs so if I wanted to heat up our leftovers from our early dinner I had to go downstairs.#2- when we checked in I was given a gate code for the parking and was never told there was a fee. I know there was a fee because of the daily fees apply sign but it would have been nice to know how much a night I would be paying. I actually had to ask the receptionist the fee because I didnt see anywhere where the amount was posted. Someone posted it was $14 the receptionist told me $12...so I guess well see when I get charged.#3- I would probably eat at the Bistro if hotel guest got a discount 10-15% it would be an incentive to want to eat there. The workers at the Bistro are fantastic but price wise Id rather go down or across the street and pay less.
Very clean and updated hotel in a perfect location in downtown Amarillo. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of dining and nightlife options within walking distance. Close to Historic Route 66 district. Hotel has attached parking garage and handicapped parking is just feet from hotel entrance and elevators. Highly recommend this hotel.
One night stay that was uneventful. Staff was accommodating and the room was nice and clean (as expected at a Marriott). Lack of a pool and continental breakfast was a bit of a letdown for the kids, but I guess I could have looked into that when I made the reservation and proactively tamped down their expectations. Lesson learned. Would be a great place to stay downtown on business.
They incorrectly charged me for parking after I parked on the street for 4 days. When I called and asked them to correct the manager was not there. Thirty minutes later I was contacted by email and told I did indeed park in the garage. After calling to try to resolve this I was told manager was not available til next day. When I called the next day she could not take the call due to training call that will probably last all day in which the front desk lady got elevated and hung up. Actually hung up..... After calling corporate, the manager reluctantly refunded via email telling me she decided to waive the fee. Waive a fee I did not incur. Just terrible customer service experience all around.
We had a corner room and found it to be just delightful with a panoramic view of the city. It was well decorated and clean, and having restaurants within walking distance was a plus. Having said that, the check-in was slow - no desk clerk for about 10 minutes. The bar/bistro was supposed to open at 5:00 and at 5:30, it still wasnt open and there were no lights on inside. Other than the room itself, I dont believe it was up to the standards of this hotel chain.
There is a lot of history with this hotel and its great that they are utilizing this building. On the down size, with old buildings comes issues. I have been traveling often to Amarillo on business and have been staying here. The staff are great and the décor is nice and modern. The house cleaning is consistent. The only issue that I have is that when there is a power outage and the generator kicks in, those fumes will come into your room if your suite overlooks the parking garage. Another issue when there is a power outage is that the AC may not work so if your temperature has to be set at a lower setting, youre SOL unless theyre able to find you another room that has AC.
The building and room were clean and well decorated. Other than that, I dont have much good to say. I upgraded to a more expensive hotel thinking I would get something better. Tou have to pay $12 to park and there are no other options given. Plus, once you park in the parking garage there is only one way back down...thats wal mart ing down the steep incline to get back down to ground level. No pool, no breakfast, and the bed was so hard! I wish I would have chosen my usual average priced hotel.
Great place to stay in a historic building. the staff was efficient and friendly. they went out of their way to be helpful. walking distance to good restaurants. breakfast at the hotel was very good . internet was great .room was comfortable and large. parking very easy. overall a wonderful experienc
The hotel is nice, staff is friendly, and our room was very spacious. The surrounding area had few restaurant choices and many shuttered storefronts- not much for a family to do. The air conditioning unit had to be manually reset every 2-3 hours or else the temperature stayed between 73-78 degrees- unacceptable for Texas in July. Staff was generally unconcerned.
Traveling cross country to move my home. Our trailer had been broken into early on in our trip and the hotel staff were great to reassure us that parking garage had cameras and that a staff member walks the garage hourly. The staff also placed our room in a place where we could see our car and trailer. It was the extras that made our stay a great one knowing we could sleep easy while they watched over our remaining belongings. Thanks!
I really love this beautifully restored hotel and great downtown location! My room was very unique, up-to-date, and spotless. Its an easy walk to nearby restaurants and only takes a few minutes to drive to the freeway. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. The included gym just a few blocks away was a plus. Free downtown parking too.
My third visit to this hotel, which is a relief from the interstate highway environment. Marriott is doing a great job of repurposing downtown city buildings like this one, with comfort and style. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and quiet. In-hotel food is mediocre, but there are good restaurants within easy reach. I would have liked a microwave, but that isnt a deal-breaker. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Im in Amarillo on business about 6 times a year. The Courtyard is within walking distance to my work assignment as are a handful of great restaurants. The hotel is always clean and there is plenty of secure parking for guests. The in house Bistro can get you a sit down meal or something to go if youre in a hurry. Kudos to Marriott for a wonderful restoration of the Fisk Building and maintaining some historical displays of the buildings past. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.Of note - During a stay in May, 2013 I was awakened by tornado sirens. Before I could turn on the TV to see what was going on the in-room intercom sounded and directed all guests to the lobby. Once in the lobby we were directed to a basement conference room where the staff conducted a room by room roll call to ensure all guests were accounted for. They provided bottled water while we watched the weather report of the storm as it moved through the Amarillo area. When the warning lifted we emerged to find the streets 3 deep in quarter sized hail. Good job by the night staff during a serious weather event that caused over $40M in damage in the Texas panhandle.
We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere.... is what I read on a previous response by the owner to a unhappy guest. I strongly disagree! I had recently booked rooms for a large group of government employees well in advance and inquired about a government rate, which was confirmed during my initial phone call to the hotel. During check in, I stated who I and the 18 other guests were and desired to be shown to our rooms. This guy at the desk says whoa, before I do anything, I need Gov. IDs from everyone. I explained that all employees did not have issued Gov identification ( only issued to permanent employees, not seasonal). He then says the Gov rate would not be honored and that we would all have to purchase rooms individually (19 rooms!) stating the original reservation was for Gov rate only (12 rooms). He then says Did I check the website? It clearly states Gov ids are required..... My response was no, i did not check the website, we have been traveling from Fort Smith and used only the phone number. Obviously, we all were in uniform and clearly government employees. One call to his superior would have resolved the issue. Not a very welcoming atmosphere shown at all. He must have come to his senses and followed up with his superior, making the correction and honoring the original reservation. Bottom line, miscommunication on the desk employees and dude was unprofessional. BTW, I do not require a response from the owner or establishment, creating excuses and suggesting what I have should done initially!
It is always slightly unclean. We have had issues with the bathrooms and beds have had strange hair in them several times. The odd shaped rooms are uncomfortable and awkward. They do not offer a free breakfast nor a food delivery to your room. They have a bar deli of sorts that you can order from but it is hugely expensive and you have to go get it yourself. The coffee they put in the rooms really sucks. The room had 3 kleenex in the box and that has been pretty standard everytime we stay. No microwaves in room but there is a central microwave in lobby. No amenities for the price.
The room was great! I loved the corner room with the perfect view of downtown Amarillo. It was clean and comfortable. Modern. Perfect for our staycation on a Friday night. The lobby was warm and welcoming. Didnt feel like typical Amarillo. The only improvement would be to add a way to watch movies in our room. We live in Amarillo and thought it would be fun to rent a room and watch a movie, but we were surprised to see that wasnt an option. We just watched TV instead so it was fine, but I would definitely add that feature.
Our stay was very short (in late, out early) but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our suite was quiet, clean and comfortable. We wish wed had more time to explore the facility. We will stay here on our next trip through Amarillo and ensure we have some time to explore the facility.
Had a suite with 4 guest, only provided with 3 towels and asked for more and they never brought them up or the pillows. Had to go to lobby and get myself. Expect better. I think you could get more amenities at a different hotel, for less. This hotel wasn’t my first choice, power was out throughout the town so ended up here.
Clean and convenient. Parking is much easier than the Embassy Suites. It cost more for parking $14 for Marriott (Embassy parking was across the street in the garage $7 if you couldnt find street parking for the same price, so unloading the car was a real issue) but after traveling all day, Im looking for convenience. Great little tacos shop just around the corner too! Ill stay here again over the Embassy Suites.
This was the cleanest and quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. I was really impressed with the staff, the lobby and the food. I wish I stayed here the past few times I drove through. Honestly when I drive through downtown I thought , damn my car will for sure be broken into :/ it was really run down and abandoned. But there was secure parking and as soon as I walked in the hotel I was so relieved. I highly recommend staying here.
8th floor room was quiet, clean and modern. No complimentary breakfast though. Parking was free and space was adequate but you have to catch the elevator on the 1st floor which means if you park on the 2nd floor of the garage you will have to take the stairs to get down to the 1st floor. That was only a minor inconvenience though. Overall stay was a very good experience. Some where between 3 1/2 and 4 stars.
After traveling 10hrs from Houston I arrived to the hotel an greeted by a very nice lady Heather. Expedited my checkin an offer me water. The room was very large an clean. Lots of windows. Bed very soft/firm. Deactivated my key by accident an withinin a second another lady Danyale activated with a huge smile. Continue to ask do I need anything. The historic hotel is very fashionable. Sat in the lobby trying to decide location to eat. Awesome young bubbly lady with a huge smile name Alexis helped me choose a restaurant downtown (Acupulco). Alexis also showed me to the hotel Bistro an Starbucks. So happy she did! She seem very knowledgeable an willing to assist. I will be back because of the three ladies I experienced. An the comfort an quietness of the hotel.
Amazing hotel with a modern/historic feel. When I arrived there was a young lady by the name of Alexis that assisted me. I can say with the utmost confidence that I have never received such good service! The rest of the staff was pleasant as well. I look forward to staying there again in the near future.
We have been at this hotel four times each for one night on our way back and forth to California. It is always our first or last night on the trip. The hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly and the parking is easy in and out. The rooms are a nice size and very quiet.
Rooms are clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Theres not much to see in the area (lots of abandoned buildings and active construction) and closest convenience store is about a mile away. Theres underground parking if you have a car. Breakfast and coffee is good but not complimentary which is somewhat expected for a hotel at this price point, but not a deal-breaker for me.
Stopped with family for one night on our way to Colorado. This was a very nice hotel and room. It was convenient to get to and was overall very pleasant stay. We had other family that spent more money on rooms at express type hotels that were not nearly as nice as this Marriott
This is a good Courtyard in the heart of Amarillo. The building is old but the hotel looks quite new inside, in the typical Courtyard style. Nice and courteous staff, spacious rooms and bathrooms. I am only giving four stars because, like all Courtyards, there is the usual cafe that sells bottled drinks for more than what you pay for the same bottle from the hotels own refreshment area. I think this is quite ridiculous. Besides this, it is indeed a good hotel.
The renovation of this hotel was a great business concept. However, more important than renovation is customer service. The basic tenements of customer service are basic hotel services (i.e. air conditioning, dining, etc.). Weve stayed at this hotel three times over a two year period. One hiccup is an isolated incident. A second is unfortunate. Three times? Three times confirms this hotel is simply a shiny package with a poor product. Expressed concerns are simply addressed with apologies; not remedies. If youre staying during warmer seasons, be prepared for your room to be in the 80-deg temperature range. As Platinum members, well never stay here again.
As a Marriott platinum Elite member with a lifetime status with Marriott I spend my weeks, months, holidays and years traveling for work and pleasure. I have never had a bad experience with Marriott. EVER. This is why I stay at Marriott. Consistency. That was until 11/9/18 - Cheryl the GM is one of the rudest, unprofessional and an absolute disgrace to the Marriott brand.Marriott central reservations made a mistake on my reservation. Which is no fault of mine. When I asked Cheryl to make the reservation right she responded with“ you received a email reservation on how the room was booked. And if you want me to change the reservation you will pay tonight’s rate @$269.”I have 2 rooms here for the same days and room type. I booked it under $165 a night and points on another night. I asked her to make the other reservation correct since they were booked at the same time and she responded with“ no, I am the GM and I can change the rate and make it right but I’m not going to”She smirked and said have a good day.I’ll never stay here again! Stay away. Management is an absolute joke here.
Lovely modern, studio style rooms in a beautifully restored treasure. So much wonderful history and elegance preserved with the comforts of the modern era. The extreme proximity to so many wonderful restaurants and bars made this the perfect place to stay and enjoy some fun without driving.
Sheryl/cheryl and Dionne the managers there went above and beyond to show us the texas hospitality! The customer service and kindness was amazing and received well. I would recommend Anyone and Everyone to stay here as the specialize in authentic excellence. If I could give 10 stars I would have.
Personal review. I think the hotel needs to consider having at least complementary coffee in the lobby, even though there is a Starbucks there I think that it would be nice to have complementary coffee. I also believe that the room should be clean daily, which was not in my case.
I did not have a reservation, but showed up and the front desk was friendly and fast. The hotel is an excellent restoration. Room was comfortable and quiet. Will definitely return if back in the area for work. P.s. The Internet service, free speed level, was consistent and able to sustain a vpn connection, big bonus for me as I could connect to work files
Frequent stays in this facility make it my favorite in town. Availability of food is limited, but wait staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel staff is accommodating and friendly. Area of town is older and somewhat sketchy, although the city is enjoying some very nice upgrades.
We had a suite, which was quite nice. It was a corner room and felt spacious. Unfortunately, there was a bridal party in the next room and a nightclub across the street making a lot of noise into the wee hours of the night. The AC system is also loud. The towels were thin and gave a cheap feel to the bathroom.
The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Its in a neat location. Be aware that downtown Amarillo restaurants are geared to serve business crowds, during business hours. Good luck finding an open restaurant on the weekend. The hotel lacks some amenities usually found at Marriott properties and the level of service isnt quite up to par.
Good location, comfortable rooms, good bed, very clean, and great staff. It is getting tougher to find a hotel this well-equipped that is clean, customer-friendly, and reasonably priced. I give it high marks in all areas but one: parking access is a little inconvenient, but this is not a major issue. This hotel is at the top of my list when staying in Amarillo.
If your have to stay in Amarilllo this is the best hotel that I have been to. Located in a historic building the Courtyard Downtown provides spacious rooms and a great location to food and other happenings in the downtown area. Fully remodeled the hotel has all the amenities you expect from a Courtyard and much more. Our stays here have been quite, restful and enjoyable.
We were surprised with the heavy additional charge to park in the hotel garage - especially with the higher cost of room compared to other properties in the area. The sub par attitude upon check made it worse. IF getting a refund would not have been such a hassle we would have request one and went to an alternate property. The only redeeming quality of this stay was that house keeping made the room immaculate!
If there’s one thing I can complain about, it’s the fact that they do not have enough coverage for overnights. As a guest, I immediately noticed one night how sick the girl at the front desk was. She had been going back and forth to the bathroom. Being a concerned human being, I suggested for her to go to the hospital if it was becoming consistent. She told me she kept trying to get ahold of her manager and after several calls, there was no answer. If you are going to run a hotel and an expensive one at that, please hire more people. Or put more employees on shift to cover. I think I’m better off staying at Best Western.
This hotel is in a pretty good location, if you need to be in downtown Amarillo. The inside is in need of an update. Looks like maybe the last one was 2008 or 2009? Has the old style TVs and the pill shaped couch. The parking is not included, I think it was 10 a night when I was there. There are quite a few good restaurants in walking distance so that is a plus. And someone made a pretty good joke on the building next door, might have to zoom in on it.
Awesome hotel with great service from the friendly staff. There is comfortable Bistro for a bite to eat and coffee or tea to wash it down. Also great Amenities when it comes to staying away from home. With just short walk from the hotel there are some of the best, bars, shopping and dining the city has to offer. However, the Amarillo Courtyard’s Bar & Restaurant prices were outrageous compared to local businesses within walking distance. Highly recommend hotel management review there Restaurant and Bar menu prices and compare to the local Amarillo business Bars & Restaurants.
This location provided great customer service and the rooms were well-designed and functional. I enjoyed the bar area the night of my stay, but would have liked more protein options for breakfast. Overall, I very good stay and I will choose this location again on my next trip to Amarillo.
The historic building and warm, welcoming staff make this a lovely place to stay. We only stayed one night and because it was Sunday in a business district, all but one local restaurant and the hotel restaurant were closed. The friendly woman at the front desk informed us upon check in of our dining options before I even had a chance to ask. She also confirmed she had made parking arrangements for our 12 box truck in a secure location as requested by our booking agent. We received friendly, professional service from every staff member we interacted with during our stay. Having worked with several aspects of the hospitality industry in my career it was a pleasure staying at a hotel that truely embraces the concept of the industry.
The only change I wouldve made to my stay is we wanted the romance package, which at this location was not offered, although with that being said, when the staff learned thats the package we wanted they went above and beyond giving us an amazing room with a great view, and making sure we knew all the places we would be able to enjoy couple time. The hotels history was amazing, the interior was up to date yet still had the history of the building involved. Perfect Night by far! Overall an AMAZING hotel! We will certainly be staying here again!!
Very unhappy. We are Marriott card carriers & our plans changed after we booked. We never received a confirmation email & was not aware that we only had 23 hours to change. We booked at least a month in advance through Marriott direct. No refund on either night they have plenty of time to rebook it and not take a loss but instead they will not refund. We will not be able to use it and they will book it to someone else & I still have to pay. Boycotting Amarillo Downtown!
Excellent hotel to enjoy a stay in Amarillo for a great walk down memory lane and see all the new Bldg that accent the past. We enjoyed walking and especially the Coffee Shop. Great coffee when Bistro at Hotel is closed. But dont forget the Bistro as they have great coffee and goodies too. If u like history read all the old papers and info provided by the Courtyard. Give them and excellent rating. You can walk to Youngbloods Cafe. Rate excellent too ad very friendly and great food.
Undergoing renovation on some floors. Room was a nice size, bath was spacious and bed was comfortable. Bistro was disappointing and not up to Courtyard standards. Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup was sub-par. Tomato soup was good but sandwich was supposed to have grueyere cheese but, ... Menu selection was limited. I would not stay at this hotel again. No room service.
My wife and I had a very negative experience with the hotel staff, specifically with the manager Cheryl Holwick. We have been frequent guests at other Courtyard by Marriott locations and, until now, always has a pleasant experience. We paid for the room with Priceline. When we arrived we parked in the Marriott parking lot. The parking lot was open and there was no sign indicating a fee. The next morning we received an additional bill from Marriot for 12.99 plus tax for parking. The town was shut down due to COVID - a ghost town. We would have simply parked on the street directly in front of the premises if we were told that parking was not free. When we raised the issue with the manager Cheryl Holwick she refused to refund the parking fee, claiming that we had booked with booking.com and we would have to speak to them for a refund. We have never used booking.com. Our receipt is from Priceline and the total amount we paid in the end did not reflect the advertised price. As a town, Amarillo is very run down with many shuttered businesses.

2022-01-25I spent two nights at this location while visiting the area. The staff was very polite and courteous. When I requested fresh towels, they promptly delivered. I requested to be placed on the highest level possible for a special occasion and they delivered a great city view. I was very pleased with the pricing and the amenities. The location was even better to visit a night club or dine in the area. I recommend this and would revisit.

2022-06-10Excellent experience from check-in to breakfast. Room is aptly appointed. Cafe staff is excellent, knowledgeable about safely managing food allergy issues and cooked perfect eggs x5 plates. This hotel is nice with a low-key feel, right in the heart of Amarillo with a young, but include all walks of life feel.

2022-04-19The bartender Lindsay was new and very nice. She is definitely Courtyard Amarillos ambassador. Compliments to the hotel. The group next to me were enjoyable. The atmosphere was amazing at the bar. Now the rooms. It was a breath of fresh air to walk in a room so clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. The sleep was uninterrupted. The experience was long overdue. This is my new Amarillo hotel whenever I am in town. Thank you all.

2022-06-15I spent three nights here and would happily return the next time in Amarillo. My room was very clean, especially the bathroom. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Cindy and Daniel, good people. I also took advantage of the bistro one morning and frequented the fitness center. Both were found to be acceptable.

2022-04-03Cindy was so incredibly patient and helpful getting me booked over the phone. Our stay-cation was great, the room was spectacular, super-clean, and had a fantastic view. Amenities were great and the room was very comfortable and quiet. Well def be back!

2022-07-16Great historic building with included history, updated rooms, and right in historic downtown within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping, and other businesses. I made the mistake, however, of opting to eat breakfast in the cafe downstairs and ended up waiting for at least thirty minutes essentially for a breakfast salad (arugula with eggs on top), yogurt, and French toast. Unfathomable why only one person each would be scheduled to work the register/coffee area and one in the kitchen during the breakfast crowd.

2022-03-13The front desk clerk Cindy was not a very nice host. She was very rude and seemed to be burdened by the fact we were there. Its too bad that she had to act like that. And since they dont send out experience reviews like other hotels, I have to air the grievance here in hopes that it gets back to them and they improve their hospitality. Apparently its a historic hotel and the rooms were very nice.

2022-07-10Such a wonderful hotel and even better staff! Adrian (the front office manager) was wonderful and very accommodating. They even have nice cookies! Highly recommend!

2022-03-13Honestly, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. They cancelled our reservation, didn’t notify us and when we got there (at 10 pm - exhausted) just told us “your reservation has been cancelled due to overbooking”. I was alone with my 8 year old daughter with no where else to go, as all of the hotels in Amarillo were booked. And the woman at the desk was so inconsiderate and rude and honestly didn’t even care. I will never stay at this hotel again, not will I recommend it for any of our friends who travel here for games, tournaments etc.

2022-06-20Very cool, historic 1928 building converted to a very nice, reasonably priced, hotel in the heart of Downton. Super clean room, nice staff, good food at the bar. Definitely will be back.
