Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in other cities:
*****Beware you may or may not receive service at this restaurant******My family and I will never again stop at this restaurant. We were seated and waited 20 minutes and were never once acknowledged. We understand that restaurants are short staffed so we waited patiently to give them a chance. What was even more saddening was that a party that was seated at the same time right next to our table received their whole meal (drinks, bread, salad and dinner) while we were still waiting for anyone to come and ask for our drink/dinner order. We decided to leave after 25 minutes of nothing. We had a 5 and 6 year old to feed and they were getting hungry. The manager said she would speak with the servers and apologized as we left. This was very disappointing as we’ve never had this kind of service at any Cracker Barrel we’ve been to.
I would like to THANK the Cracker Barrel for their hospitality on Sunday evening. We showed up around 9:30 and they close at 10. So we were their last customers. Me and my 2 sidekicks, Bryon (husband) and Heather (daughter). It was my BIRTHDAY!! The food was great and the server was perfect, what I really liked about the waitress was that she was short like me and she had a smile on her face the whole time, even after 10:00! There was a couple of things that were not so good; 1-no alcohol 😉, 2-no Pepsi. But overall it was a good birthday dinner (free cake & ice cream). Thanks again, SandyI had another pleasant visit at CB.April 2022. The atmosphere was quite, the server did her job well, and the food was amazing, I actually finished my plate (Trout) and I cant remember the last time I did that.
We had a fairly long wait to have our order taken but our waiter apologized, and after that, the service was spectacular. The biscuits were melt-in-your mouth. I had the chicken and dumplings, which was perfect in texture and flavor. My husbands fried chicken dish was huge and quite delicious. Our side dishes of fried apples, mashed potatoes and green beans were quite good. But the hash brown casserole was cold and dry.
Service is mediocre -- the host was inattentive. Not a friendly face, not even a real welcome. Employees seem walking along like zombies, even sad.Its a corporate chain, right? and we need to remember this. Food is bland, to appeal to the masses, nothing locally reflective of local food culture. Sausage, for example, is bland and we can find better sausages in town. Country ham, reflects nothing like the American tradition of country ham. Food was not hot; it was warm but not hot. And again, the table service was mediocre, waiting for hot coffee refills.Corporate food. Corporate service. Corporate vibe.Watching the other customers, I see others shoveling their soylent brown, joyless, robot-like, not enjoying the food but ritualizing the corporate-consumer engagement, mechanic-like, listless. Even in this small town, everyone is a stranger here. Community has been lost. We see what has lost from local small businesses. Its a mistake. Sad.I realize it is part of the branding, but all the in-your-face consumerism in the front store (Buy More! Now!) really impacts the eating experience, even physically making one a level of anxiety, like walking through Walmart during holiday season, before a meal and then again after the meal. Consumerism.Corporate food. Corporate service. Corporate vibe.
Thought I’ll get Cracker Barrel on our drive back to El Paso, sick of all the fast food traveling. Well called ahead an ordered take out, guy said give us 13 minutes or so, I’m like it will take me 17 minutes to get there where I’m at. Arrive go in and pay, guys like there bagging it up so I start waiting, waiting waiting 10 minutes, 15 20 minutes come on all ready, well finally get it, plate missing for the veggie plate, extra plate barely any, go out and eat it in the car my meat loaf and mash potatoes cold…… cold are you kidding me
I have been to multiple Cracker barrels. Each has a fantastic country store with great values. Plan to spend a fair amount of time browsing. As for food, the choices are awesome. All of which are recommended. From breakfast to dinner, youll find fresh food that is down home and generous in portions. Friendly alert. The staff is always welcoming and helpful.
This Kerrville TX location just off I-10 looks like every other Cracker Barrel, but it was easily the best experience weve had among at least a dozen CB visits elsewhere in the Southwest. I attribute that level of quality to exceptional management and engaged ownership.
I arrived afternoon for breakfast all day all the breakfast specials have names of relatives. I had the three eggs and steak special. Plenty of food including a potato and cheddar hash, not much to look at but tasty, some sliced apple compote, two biscuits and their country gravy. I wanted sausage gravy and biscuits but they dont have that option, although they assure me the country gravy has bits of sausage in it, I didnt bring my magnifying glass. The sirloin steak tasted good but a little tough. All in all good and filling for $14 and change.
Its been a year or more since Ive been to a Cracker Barrel. I no longer live close to one. We had to wait about five minutes so not bad. Plus it gave us time to browse through the store, which is always fun! Nick was our waiter and he did a nice job. I always get the chicken and dumplings and like normally, it did not disappoint!!! The serving size are a good value and always have left overs. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The hubs had the country fried pork chops and he was equally happy with his choice!!! Thank you Cracker Barrel and Nick for providing us with a delicious dinner!!!! Please build a Cracker Barrel in Boerne!!! Like actually build one...dont be like Bucees who teases us for the past 7 years to no avail! lol!!!!
Deeeeeeepppppprrrrrrrreeeesssssssseeeeeeddddddd! Corporate Office decided to get rid of WAY TOO MANY of OUR FAVORITE ITEMS! 🍎 APPLE STREUSEL COBBLER, RASPBERRY LEMONADE, and other SIGNATURE CRACKER BARREL Selections. Yes I am in PAIN (LOL). But seriously, they shouldve advertised these items better years ago. Most customers NEVER KNEW that as an ADULT you order the kids meal and your RASPBERRY LEMONADE is FREE! GOD, please help CRACKER BARREL!!!!
Though short-staffed and working long hours, the staff at Cracker Barrel were courteous, professional, and competent. Eating out on a Saturday evening is not always pleasant, because the crowds at popular restaurants can be noisy and cause long waits, but this was not the case. The atmosphere is very family-friendly and comfortable. From the greeter and host to the server and cashier, everyone was welcoming and hard-working. The cornbread and biscuits were served right away and were delicious. Unfortunately, they had run out of my favorite huckleberry tea, but that was to be expected, because its a specialty drink. I ordered the Country side plate that comes with 4 sides. The salad was huge and full of fresh vegetables. The loaded baked potato may have been a little too big, because it wasnt cooked all the way through; however, it was so big, there was enough soft potatoes for me. The fried okra was hot and crispy, and the cole slaw was sweet and tasty. The price was just right and I enjoyed browsing through the store after the meal. Our local Cracker Barrel is a good place to go for a close to home cooked meal. There is a huge variety for every taste and breakfast is served all day.
Wasnt too crowded yet it took 25+ minutes to get seated. Once seated it took an additional 10-15 to even be acknowledged and get our drink order in. Waiter was a young man seemed to have little experience, but he was nice and apologized for the wait. Food was great!! When we were checking out I noticed there were a lot of ants on the counter and near the candy section. I told the cashier, but not sure she heard me correctly or even at all, cause she seemed to not care.
Ok, for the most part, the food was good. There were a couple of problems with the food. Two of us got steaks but they were not hot when they got to the table. I myself got the chicken fried steak. It was warm but not hot. Another person got the wrong sides. We also didnt get the appetizers until we asked for them which came to the table with our meals. The prices are good. They have a great gift shop. The young man at the register was very polite and friendly. If there were 10 of him working there, this place would do this place some good. I dont know if I will be returning here due to the waitress and her service.
We stop at Cracker Barrel often when traveling. We love their Pancakes and their wonderful syrup. They serve it heated and it is delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and so friendly. I cant remember her name but we are going to stop there again just because of her. We even bought a bottle of their maple syrup to take home and was going to buy their pancake mix but they were sold out. Tell you anything?
I should have read the reviews before trying to make this my restaurant of choice for Thanksgiving. We wanted to have a good breakfast and then take turkey with us. Upon arrival the inside was empty at 10:30 in the morning. They gave us a menu, a very limited menu. We ordered and told our waitress that afterwards we were going to have a take out for the Thanksgiving dinner. Well... our Thanksgiving dinner arrived first in a bag. Then our breakfast, with burnt biscuits, ice cold grits. Pancakes so cold that a pat of butter stayed on top the entire rest of our stay.We asked for a manager 2wice before a guy came out and even though he took care of the money portion of our visit he definitely didnt make us feel as though we were leaving happy. So we drove all the way back to Mason with our turkey which was undercooked and more burnt biscuits, no Pie, even though it was supposed to come with it. The following day we went to an awesome local fare for some real turkey and dressing. Like another review said CB has really gone downhill like bad
We arrived to a small and fully understandable wait time and was greeted by the most polite and pleasant server. However once we ordered, we waited over an hour for 4 entrees that were cold and bland. The trout was so bad we didnt even finish it. The two stars given are solely for the amazing server we had who went out of her way for the many diners she had to juggle.
Was told by hostess today on Thanksgiving Why didnt we all go home & cook. She wanted the day to just end. And thats not all Very rude. Manager thought it was funny when I told him I had a compliant. 4th year eating here. Each year the food & service gas gotten worse. Will not beback.
Super friendly staff..short wait and plenty of space. The scramble I recommend. I let my waiter know I couldnt have bacon on it and the manager even informed me that he also left off the gravy sure to begin being an ingredient of it. I upmost appreciate every step in the consideration and time they took to make sure everything was perfect.
Worst food I have had in a long while. The server did NOT smile, people were seated in tables that have not been cleaned (we gave our extra napkins to the people), one customer waited a long time to just to place his order for a drink. A customer came in 5 minutes after we did and got his food first. Come in Cracker Barrel, you can do better
I was at Cracker Barrel with my husband and friend and we arrived 40 min before closing and our waitress her name was Ash was asking to take our plates that still had food on it and I felt like she was trying to rush us out of there and kept asking if we were alright and I didn’t mind that but I got the idea we weren’t allow to enjoy our food in peace and that we had a time limit to eat our food
Like most chain restraunts Cracker Barrel is always consistent in their food and service. This visit I got the Camp Fire Smokey Beef Brisket Breakfast. Im usually not one to go out of my way to try somthing new, but Im very glad I did. This dish seems like it would be over flavorful and greasy when it is in fact the opposite. It was delicious and the perfect portion. The only complaint I have about our Cracker Barrel is that theyre always out of everything!
I put my order in over the phone and they gave me the time it would be ready. It was very simple to do and my food was ready when I got there. I ordered the maple bacon grilled chicken and it was delicious! I dont like that they dont have this item on their regular menu. You have to actually be placing an order to see it on the menu.I was also a little disappointed that they are no longer serving their squash casserole.I treated myself to a piece of buttermilk pie and it was wonderful!Great experience overall.
Worst experience I’ve ever had, EVER at any restaurant. Got there Sunday at 11, waited 20 min which was fine we expected a wait. Ordered our food waited an hour and still no food. We asked the server Michael where the food was, his response “it’s just taking awhile let me check” he never came back to the table. I asked to speak to the manager, James came over to the table we asked what was going on he said “it’s just taking awhile” he went to check in the kitchen and never came back. We asked to speak to him again, 10 min later he comes back to the table and says they are plating it now and it’s on its way. 10 min later no food. No one comes back to the table. We got up and asked James the manager to come back to the table. He comes out of the kitchen and says “they just dropped your food on its way out” which is a lie because our table was directly next to the kitchen entrance/exit we heard no commotion at all. I’ve been in the restaurant business my whole life and still am so I’ve heard every excuse in the book but not from a General Manager who just wanted to argue instead of helping resolve an issue with paying customers. Instead of giving his guests a pleasant experience he gets defensive and argumentative with me. COMPLETELY unprofessional.
Where do I begin? They open at,7am,but,the,cooks and waitress ALSO arrive at 7am. 20 customers sat waiting until I asked where the waitress was. Got 1/2 cup of coffee,1st cup, 17 min after. Morning mgr let ONE waitress take all 20 orders alone! If THIS is their idea of good management,I would gladly retrain them
We have lunch here pretty often after church on Sunday. This evening we chose to have dinner. The service was amazing, unfortunately the food was not. I typically never complain to the restaurant. I brought the issues to the cashiers attention and the response I got was that they have had a lot of complaints along those lines this evening. Any other visit has been a 5 star review!
I love this place. I come here for the restaurant. The food is really good and the menu is extensive. The service is good and relatively fast. They have good lunch and day of the week specials. I also enjoy the atmosphere and old timey southern decor of this place. Overall recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some satisfying comfort food.
Very great experience! It was my first time eating at Cracker Barrel and I can truthfully say that it was really good. Masks were worn by all staff and everything was very clean. I had the Mamas Pancakes and it tasted better than my own moms pancakes. Also, our server Journey was super nice and brought our food out super fast! Journey continuously checked in for coffee refills, so my coffee was always fresh. Journey, thank you for your great service today and thank you to the Cracker Barrel staff for making my morning great!
We got there 45 minutes before they closed. We got our food fairly quick, and for the first time in the history of me going to Cracker Barrel the food was really hot. I was impressed. Restrooms, however, needed to be cleaned. The service was ok, but again we got a rising star.
We stayed overnight in our RV in the parking lot and dined on a sumptuous breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed the Grandpa and the Grandma menu items. The eggs were cooked just as requested, the grits were very good and the pancakes were absolutely delicious. The biscuit was not as tasty as I would have liked and the ham was salty and dry. The entire stay was pleasurable and the staff and manager were very hospitable.
My issue is with the curbside pickup. My email said it would be ready at 7:11pm. I showed up at 7:20pm, called the number and was told they would bring it out as soon as they could. At 7:35 I called back and was told they only had two employees up front, and it might take some time.I walked in at 7:45 and there were approximately 9 people waiting in line for the single register. The hostess told me I had to get in line to get my food. A minute or so later she walked over and got my food for me. It had been sitting on a shelf for basically 40 minutes by the time I got it.The staff was overwhelmed, which I understand. But if you allow online orders, have the staffing to back it up. Cold food is not what I want to eat. And your employees dont need to hear the inevitable complaints from disgruntled customers, when one more employee would have made a huge difference.
Beings were scorched had to ask the waiter several times to refill the tea and to bring napkins he did Cracker Barrel quite often so I know this is not the norm. I visit at the next Cracker Barrel will definitely be better we visit the one in the spring area and the Kingwood area most of the time service is always awesome. I guess they know us there better and they know we tip very well always tip more than the 20%
Wow! First bad experience at this restaurant and it was a doozy. After checking in online for curbside pickup and waiting 10+ minutes with my child, we went in and the kid working the register tells me it says online there is not curbside to which I tell him it checked me in for curbside through my email. Rather than drop it or apologize for wasting our time, he feels the need to make him point valid. I told this child I am not arguing with him. He then tells me they don’t have the dessert my daughter ordered and that I paid for. He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no that I would like my credit card refunded or cash for the dessert. He called the manger to do the refund and this man Carlos was so rude and unprofessional. He told me that “it’s only a dollar difference” and tried to give us another dessert, because he doesn’t want to go through “the process” of refunding me. I tell him know that I want the refund and he proceeds to start talking to my six-year-old asking her if she would like ice cream. I told him not to speak to my daughter and ask her if she want something that I already said no to and that On top of it he had no idea what her allergies were with offering her something that she would want after she already didn’t get the desert she ordered. I told them I just want my food and told him how rude he is and that this is the only bad experience I’ve ever had. He continued to yell out at me and my daughter across the store until we could get outside. Not only is this completely unprofessional and unethical behavior, it is also terrifying for a single mom with her small child to be treated Aggressively by Carlos the manager.
I’ve been a CB customer for years. The Kerrville restaurant was not a disappointment. Friendly, courteous staff. Loved the grilled chicken breasts. There was a short wait in the lobby, but the food was worth it.I forgot a personal item at my table and the hostess found it and saw that it was returned to me. Thank you!
My food was very good my wifes how ever was ok she had the sweet potato and it was not cook all the way and was very hard on one side. The waiter did take and throw in the microwave for us and it softened it up a bit . Also we asked for straws and he said they were out but a lady that came after us got one by complaining to the manager seems a little extreme for a straw but we werent going to go that for for one .
Took forever to have our order taken! Out of a lot of items on menu! Would short you a side that came with meal because they ran out ! But didnt offer you something to replace it with !! When the food did arrive it wasnt even what we had ordered the biscuits were burnt, service wasnt to bad,I guess its their policy to keep you waiting as long as possible because this isnt the only location Ive been to and its the same way ! Maybe they need to have a retraining of employment and worry less if a picture or antique hanging on the wall offended one person !! And removed items from the restaurant! Maybe put more effort in the service 🤔
It took one hour and 30 minutes. And the manager never came out even though the waitress said he would. The waitress had put our order ticket in her pocket. We paid for the food and left I dont think I want to go back he didnt even care enough to come and speak to us or even give dessert
We had party of 8, took over an hour to he seated which is understandable but than they kept forgetting to get us booster seats, silver ware was dirty, no straws, food was under seasoned some came out cold and some was scorching hot, had a drink spilled on my legs and feet from behind while they were serving another table and didnt even get a sorry, could here lots of commotion in the kitchen entrance. Family loves Cracker Barrel but this was our worst experience at one.
I love Cracker Barrel restaurants, in general, but this one always seems a little off the norm. The hostess appears overwhelmed and confused. The food has been good, and mostly just warm, but service is hit and miss. I’m not sure if they have a manager on site in the evenings, maybe it is much better during the day.
The host and check out where absolute the sweetest gals and the waiter was very quick and nice.Mind you I order a take out. Im not sure how it works back there but Ive have to say kudos to the chef who made a darn chicken fried chicken. Like crazy good favorful. I felt my food was made with love. Awesome Jobs to this location at Kerrville. Very satisfied. I do plan to come back and try more items.
6 months ago we were here and it was terrible. Today we give it another shot and it has not changed. Food was cold and had to be sent back. Then it came back had no silverware to eat it with. Cracker Barrel has been going down hill now for the last year or so. Don’t know if I will give them another chance.
Normally this is a 5 star for me, but the last 3 visits the service had been progressively worse each time. Twice out of the three visits, we were seated at a dirty table with food and drink on table and chairs.. no wonder covid is resurging! So irresponsible.Food is still really good and the service is friendly but rather useless with food arriving cold, wrong or very late and the servers not coming back for 20-30 minutes, so no refills. Not sure well be back at least not for a while. Burger King offers better service and food that is hot upon arrival. We hope management starts taking the sanitation and service more seriously soon. Oh and im tired of having to BEG for the corn muffins- just make enough considering this is what the restaurant is known for. Wheres the regional manager hiding???
I dont eat here often. Its out of the way from where I live. My husband wanted meatloaf recently and I could only think of Cracker ?Barrel that would have it. As I dont care for meatloaf I decided to get the chicken fried steak and loaded hash brown casserole. My husbands food was fine. Mine however treated like a cheap frozen patty. It was disgusting. I ate only one bite the casserole also wasnt as good as when i had it 6 months ago or so. Basically paid 33 dollars plus a tip. For one meatloaf plate and biscuits. I would have called and complained, but when i had called to make the order it had taken me getting sent to the gift shop and redirected 4 times. I. Also work at a restaurant part time so I know some times things happen. I was very disappointed though I had believed no one could mess up a chicken fried steak. Ive since been told by an ex CB employee that indeed the chicken fried steak is one of the pre made frozen meals on the menu. So please dont make the same mistake I did.
I have been to CB twice in Kerrville, First time the food was good, but cold. Second time with my grand children, food was good. Had to get up to order desert to go. Ordered fruit cobbler, peach and blackberry both came with just fruit no crust. Wasnt very appetizing at all. Grand children were disappointed with desert.
Great place to eat good old country style fried chicken. Only downfall for me was they don’t have waffles which surprised me since I understand it to be a southern thing “chicken and waffles”. The butterscotch latte was amazing and I recommend that if you are a coffee lover.
Absolutely will not come here again! Very disorganized, plenty of help on hand, but if you come in to place an order to go...it blows their minds. I waited 20 mins after the gal assured me that she turned in my order...only to find out, it didnt get turned in. I waited an additional 20 mins, only to find out it was incorrect. Paid for it, then as one gal hands me my order, another comments....did she pay for it? She stood at the counter and watched me pay for my order.Seriously, some people need to go back to school and work on their common sense skills!! Disappointed in this location!!
Showed up this evening for my family to have some breakfast for dinner. Once we walk in the hostess ignored my wife then asked how many like we bothered her by being there. Granted the restaurant only had like 10 people eating and was not busy at all. The hostess then tells us there is a 30-35 min wait. Dirty tables everywhere and very rude customer service. Sooo we went down the street to IHOP and it was perfect.
So I love to stop here every time I can. Food is always great. The only issue this time was I was trying to place a pick up order and the payment wouldnt go thru so I went in. The ladies were helpful.Found out if you place an order thru the GOOGLE Map locator it up charges on cost of food. Also tends to decline costs. So use the CRACKER BARREL APP DIRECTLY
Ordered 2 pickup meals & 1 ham meal with 3 sides.. was perfect the 2nd meatloaf with 3sides.... Wasnt correct...i had 1side ok.. The 2 side was very little...the 3rd was missing.. I paid for 2 meals that were to be correct.. So I dropped 2 stars & gave 3 stars.. My order should of been checked to see if it was correct....
First off, the few employees that we had to deal with for a curbside pickup were awesome! Really nice. Im sure that they dont have any control over the kitchen.Placed the order around 1130. Probably took close to an hour to actually get it.They were also out of a few items that we ordered. I was a bit surprised by that considering how early it was. No roast beef. No lima beans. I think green beans might have been the other item. Either way, jeez. The employees were very nice about the whole situation. I think that they even threw in an extra side or two due to a price difference in whatever replaced the roast beef.Really expected that the items would have been available before noon. Didnt think it would take anywhere near as long either.Just beware if you do a curbside pickup. Have a backup option in mind. Of course, I think Im the only person doing curbside there. Which is exactly why I do it. Not sure what so many people are thinking eating in a restaurant now anyways, but hopefully theyll survive until the vaccine gets out there.
Great home style cooking with very good service. Waiters are always pleasant. Homey atmosphere with a wonderful old time country store full of memorabilia. Im always amazed at the very fair price of their tasty meals. Been there many times and will be there many more...... :)
For the price you pay, you get a lot of canned and frozen meals. We also didnt like that the menu didnt show prices, so we were surprised when our bill came. I ordered the chicken fried steak because its a country restaurant and expected it to be one of their top dishes. It was not. It was a small piece of beef with light breading. The sides were canned (green beans), the carrots were overcooked and soggy, the okra was definitely frozen, and the biscuits and cornbread were dry. The dumplings were delicious though, and my husband enjoyed his ham and meatloaf. The food wasnt terrible, but definitely not worth the price. Next time, if we go, well probably not order any veggie sides since they all tasted bland (we ordered 5 meals total so we tasted quote a few).
We were so disappointed in our experience today. We ordered curbside meals for 5, and it took over an hour for us to get our food - 30 minutes longer than expected! - and then when we got home, a significant part of the order was missing. We were missing a full order of biscuits and gravy and a side of chicken and dumplings. Most of the food we did get was decent, though one plate had chicken livers that were significantly overcooked. I called the restaurant the moment we realized the food was missing, and the person I spoke with said they couldnt process a refund but would have a senior manager call me back later in the day. Its 8:30 pm now and I just called back to find the restaurant has already closed, and I havent gotten a call. Its not a ton of money, but getting home to find out that some of the main items we had been waiting for were not even in there was such a huge disappointment.
Well my friend and I went for breakfast, the service was ok but the amount of food served for the price is not great. I originally ordered French toast but it was not appetizing. They only dip the bread in eggs only. Needless to say I sent it back and ate the hotcakes instead. Underwhelmed w the breakfast we had. Not a repeat.Happy eating, or not. 3 stars because the service was ok.
Wonderful service, food was abundant and delicious. The restaurant was packed, probably cause of the New Year, and the staff still did an amazing job. Always willing to help, fast and friendly. The wait staff was running around like crazy and managed to keep up with and remember everything. Excellent service and good.
Had lunch today at the restaurant in Kerrville Tx. Was extremely disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. Had the chicken with broccoli and cheese. This was the smallest serving I have ever seen. And this was suppose to be the dinner portion. Also had a side salad. It was just some lettuce in a small bowl nothing else. Oh and no biscuits or cabbage I was told. The waitress was pretty much not around at all. Spent more time in the back. . I never thought I would be leaving a negative review but this was ridiculous. Kerrville manager take note. Really should think about more training and speak with your cook about the food.
Service was fine though waitress seemed more like the breakfast diner type. They had good healthy food selections once you look past the fried foods. I always like the ability to choose sides at CB and tried the new brussel sprouts and kale salad. We like them both and they did a pretty good job making them palatable for those that dont. Food was very affordable, came out quickly, was tasty, everything we expected.
We were passing by and decided to stop for breakfast. It was absolutely delicious. What really impressed us though was our server. I couldnt get her name but she was very cheerfully and attentive to all guests of the establishment. Our cashier was also really nice to us and offered us bags for our leftovers. Overall they made the our trip on to a great start!
The very best Cracker Barrel I’ve ever been to. Smaller than usual and one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Everyone had a smile and greeted us. The food was terrific, and convenient to I-10. Great assortment of goods and collectibles for sale and ultra clean restrooms.
Great service. First place I dine in after the closings and restrictions due to covid-19 were lifted. They were only sitting people at every other table and it seems they are taking all precautions for a clean safe establishment. Not a bad wait for a Saturday morning. 5 minutes for party of 3.
The food is fantastic, but during peak periods the take out service is really slow. The employees and management tho are very friendly and try their best to expedite things. From what Ive noticed from both eating in and take-out t feel its the kitchen staff that hold things up.
Food quality and price were great, which is usually the standard for this chain. However, this restaurant was out of baked potatoes by 630 pm and the service our waitress provided was unusually slow. First time i dined at this particular barrel so not sure if the potato thingee and the service is the norm or just an off night. Otherwise had a great meal.
I took my son, daughter and son n law out for Valentines day. Such a great family time. They all took pictures for me, so I ended up with alot of doubles. Our waiter was very attentive, and nice. The food was excellent. We had enough to bring some home. Thank you all.
I always stop here on my way into town. Its a very convenient location and it has a great menu. Today, however, things were different. After my daughter and I were seated, we waited for 10 minutes before someone took our drink order. It wasnt busy but I figured wed give them a chance because the staff looked frantic. Anyway, someone else came to take our order. Then, someone else came to our table with the food. I didnt know who was our waiter/waitress. Our drinks ran empty so I got up and asked for our ticket. A fourth person helped us out, we paid, then left. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences at a Cracker Barrel. Perhaps your experience will be different.
They do not enforce masks and when I asked the manager why, he said it is a very touchy subject and people get offended. I told him he should just ask those people to leave because it isnt fair for them to expose us and he went on to lecture me about how the masks dont even protect. I completely agree with him especially since he was wearing his mask as a chin diaper.Plus, the coffee had no flavor.I will be calling corporate in the morning.
If you are going to dine in, the service is fine. The servers mess up your order sometimes but you know, that happens. The food is good. However, the take out service is TERRIBLE. We’ve ordered take out from here about 4-5 times and every single time, it’s been a frustrating disaster. They mess up your order, they are rude, they don’t even have your order ready when they say they will, etc. The old lady at the register has always been the face for these upsetting interactions. She’s rude and she will just keep making you go to the back of the line until THEY are ready. And this is after placing the order 30 minutes prior, and they ask for 15-20 min to make the order. Then to top it off, a manager will come up and take over, and not only is she just as rude, but she’s now saying the opposite of the first woman. Now you might be thinking I’m in there, getting upset and making a scene, and maybe that’s why they are being rude. That is definitely not the case. I’m not very confrontational with people who handle my food. I was a server and I know better lol. I’m very calm and polite. And I know that service isn’t always perfect, but come on. Every single time? This is ridiculous.
Love the food and love the store. Ive never had a bad meal and the waitress has always been friendly and attentiveJanuary 7, 2021 Food still good and waitress was excellent. My friend had a problem with her check. It took a long time to resolve and neither the manager or the cashier said sorry or any other words for their error. We were really disappointed.
Ordered meat loaf, only ate 3 bites, all three were full of tiny bits of ground up bone!!! Did not eat the rest of the meat loaf only ate the mashed potatoes and the steamed Broccoli and one cornbread muffin. I was not given anything off the bill for the bony meatloaf!!!
I love this place. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at your choice. Many older people do not like dinner at dinner time, they like breakfast. And here you can get it all day long. Food is excellent and cost is fair, if you dont spend $100 in the store before you sit down. Their store is always full of such beautiful items, and items from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Candy, music, and christian items. Perfect place to shop.

2022-06-12The scrambled eggs looked like they were swapped from a cold Egg McMuffin. The grits were like soup. The bacon was half floppy half crispy. Disappointed.

2021-09-17I ate in (breakfast) and got chicken fried chicken w/broccoli & carrots as sides. Breakfast was great; looked in at my dinner for tomorrow and I got hardly any veggies. Veggies are cheap as compared to the cost of the two huge chicken pieces they gave me. Live & learn...I will definitely chk my order if I ever go back again.

2022-05-01My wife and I are at Cracker Barrel in Kerrville and there is a young man working here, dont know his name but he is seating people, he is greeting everyone and thanking them for being here. He is the kind of person that makes people feel excited about eating here. He needs to be commended and used as an example of how to work in this industry. Our waitress could take some notes from him. She waited on us and then disappeared. Food is excellent .

2022-06-20On our way home today, we stopped to eat lunch at your Kerrville location. We had a short wait. Our waitress was VERY efficient & friendly. The pot roast I ordered was absolutely delicious! And, my grandson loved the fried catfish & his 2 sides of mac & cheese. We love Cracker Barrel!

2022-02-06Everybody knows the dishes they serve. They cannot get any smaller or I will not go back. It does not matter where I go ( I am a truck driver). It took 10 minutes after ordering to find out that they were out of roast beef. The servers do not listen. I ALWAYS get my condiments mayo & sour cream for my fries after 5 minutes of serving the plate after repeating it 3 times while ordering. One out of 3 sides was wrong, 5 minutes to get it replaced.I asked for a sample of their plum tea..and never saw it.We asked for corn muffins with jelly...they never made it to the table.I asked for lots of lemons with my water..got 2 small pieces instead of one and no refill on the water. What is wrong with the servers if all they do is serve tables and do not know how to take notes.Very poor service today.

2022-06-16Went for supper, but decided to get the pancakes, eggs and sausage. As usual it was a great meal. I had a small wait time for my food, but not excessive. Overall, a good meal for a good price.

2022-06-10Have not been here in a long time. Curbside was on time. Pay was easy and the portions were generous. Food looked fresh and hot. The packaging was good. Very happy with my meal.
