Attended the Fire vs Police hockey game tonight. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the game. The venue and surrounding areas are very nice with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The food and alcohol at the game is priced high, but typical for sporting events. They had a live band in the concourse area that was fun and crazy. We would definitely come back for another hockey game.
Typical small venue. They had only 2 liquor bars for a large concert which made the wait about an hour, but beer was quicker. The south entrance door is not visible but its a secret fast entrance. The parking garage is free but limited, youll have plenty of options to park at businesses near by with a short walk. It was easy to navigate out of there from a highly congested event. I worried the non-stadium view from the floor seats wouldnt be a good view of the stage but it seemed ok. Overall its a nice venue for concerts, smaller exact version of the AAC.
Nice venue , clean inside. Great Sound system. Easy to get in and out.The arena does not go all the way around. This is only a problem if you come in by the parking garage entry and have a seat on the other end.Its a roomy walk inside though. They wont allow you to bring in bottled water or have a cup for water but instead buy $4.75 bottle. Concession stand workers are very slow despite cashless payment only. The seats on the very ends behind the goals are very wobbly and sway when people get up or rock in their chairs.
Comfy venue that is user friendly. Free parking is a plus. I have not attended any other events outside of the minor league hockey team, the Allen Americans. Standard concession fair is available, but there are numerous restaurants located outside in the surrounding shopping area.
The Allen Event Center was a super fun experience. Last night was my first hockey game. Luckily I have two rad parents who were willing to take their eldest son. The event center was clean, top notch, and easy to navigate. If you are looking for a venue to being your family and or rowdy friends this is the place.
First time at the venue. Overall worked nicely. Staff was polite and helpful. Parking wasnt bad once I figured out the lot was full and used the garage. Not sure if thats typical and if youre not early just head to the garage. Either way it was generally easy in, easy out.
We were looking for a fun event for the family without going crazy on the cost and we found it. We arent even a hockey family but loved every minute. Exciting game and fun, interactive timeouts. The atmosphere was great and covid precautions were steller. We look forward to the next chance to watch another game! Go Allen Americans!
I was having a great time until I was singled out multiple times by the people who work at the event center. I recorded a song not knowing recording wasn’t allowed. Was told by one of them to stop recording. Now mind you there wasn’t any announcements or signage anyone saw about not recording. And I was confused because you could CLEARLY see dozens of people around me doing the same but they weren’t told to stop. However, I said okay and moved on to pictures. The same woman working there comes within an inch of me and tells me to stop recording again about 15 minutes later. I wasn’t recording! I was taking pictures. She said I couldn’t take pictures, meanwhile everyone around me was blatantly recording or taking photos. I got upset and went to talk to another worker. She said the same thing, but when I pointed around and she could see everyone else using their phone cameras, she said I could take pictures but not with flash. I never used the flash. I was stopped again back at my seat once a half hour went by by the male worker who was standing next to the same female worker that was harassing me. (Btw, she was staring at me for most of the show) and he said to stop recording And asked to see my phone! I wasn’t about to do that, and he said it was the way I was holding my phone! Literally a lady sitting like 6 seats down from me on the front row was blatantly recording a full set. Later she told me she worked security at at&t stadium and if there is no announcement, they can’t enforce it. That she was waiting for them to say something to her. But they never did. I felt watched for most of the show. The music was great though.
Free parking, great place to see a hockey game, and they host many other events like indoor soccer, concerts and the list goes on. The seats are very comfortable and the overall size and atmosphere are really good. The concessions are typical and in my humble opinion very overpriced but that seems to be pretty standard at events like this. Its easy in and out so no long waits in the car when leaving. There is also several restaurants and lots of shopping right by. This is an excellent place to see a game, concert or just any event t by at thats taking place. Hope you enjoy your time and as always I hope the local team wins!!
The manager Ricky at the open skate went above and beyond to make my sons birthday a great one. Such great customer service skills! We really appreciate you today. You are an amazing person and we appreciate you... very professional and personal. Thank you again so much!
Been here for a variety of events but mostly to watch hockey. Most of the event center staff is easy going and polite. When they first started enforcing security rules things got weird because not all staff members were on the same page, but that has since improved although now the security lines are just that much more tedious. The facility is kept pretty clean and it seems to be well taken care of. The suites are nice and the staff up there is helpful.
After a year of not being allowed to be in large crowds, the Princeton High School graduation was a huge step toward normalcy. The staff at the Allen Event Center handled the crowd and the situation admirably. Congratulation to my wonderful niece, Haylie Golden, and nephew, Jayce Harrod, as well as the entire 2021 Princeton High graduating class.
PUCKS N PAWS night at the Allen Americans game was so AWESOME!!! We loved seeing all the different breeds and mixed breeds of dogs. We made a few new furry friends, met their owners and watched a great hockey game. There were awesome contests on the ice with the dogs as well. This is an awesome event, as a dog lover, former Obedience Instructor, groomers assistant, and Vet Tech, I LOVED my first time at this event.I would love to see animals from local shelters introduced on the ice so that they may find homes with the help of our AWESOME AMERICANS.
Been here a couple of times for school events. First time there for a concert, Ladies of the 80s. The venue is nice for it being smaller than your normal stadium arena types. Even using half the floor for the concert, it still seemed big.I also went to a kids resale clothing event. The entire floor was open for merchandise and shoppers and was bigger than I expected.
Ive been going here for years. Its a fun place to ice skate, watch the Allen Americans play and attend formal events. There is always plenty of seating and the big screens all around the stadium help to see things that are from your seat. The staff are always smiling and friendly.
We enjoyed the concert, but the person next to me could not sit in her seat and took up half of mine and the gentleman on the other side of her. I am definitely not upset with her wanting to be there, but the seats already have very little leg room. We had moved up higher to vacant seats and were fine through the 1st two acts, but when the main act came on, the security made us move. Due to being entirely uncomfortable, we left early. This was an Anniversary Present to us both and we were not happy with how we were treated.
Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Clean venue, but limited (expensive and questionable) concessions.I went with family members to a martial arts tournament held in this venue. The venue was clean and definitely presentable and appropriate for the event. However, to get breakfast there, only one vendor was open for business. My son got a hot dog (just a bun and frank with no toppings) and french fries with a Gatorade, and I got a burger that had been squished flat, with no toppings on it. I paid almost $20.The event was going well, but no other vendors opened stalls throughout the entire day! (The event started at around 7:30AM and we left around 4:00PM before the event was over.) Lines got long.At one point in the day though, my brother-in-law bought a burger for his daughter AND THEY FOUND MOLD ON IT! The vendor offered him a full refund (which he took).Attend events there? Sure. Expect that theyll be ready, willing, and able to serve edible snacks/food to you? Not so much.
Went for an e-sports event. Very clean space, the staff was helpful in directing people to their seats. Concessions were what youd expect: nachos, hotdogs, pizza, chips, etc. Overall, a nice set up, good screens, great speakers, a/c was perfect, and comfortable stadium seating.
The venue vlis very nice. Stage, sound, and seating layout provided for a great experience. My only complaint could be how the traffic is funneled in to the parking area when arriving at the venue. When the concert neared its end, we left and found that the parking garage lighting was off. The entire building was black, making difficult of not dangerous to navigate to the car.
Whats not to love about this place. Ive been here a bunch and each time the staff is great and the prices are decent as well. I come here more for the hockey games but they do offer many other those of events. There is alot to offer here and I would recommend anyone in the area coming out to visit this and the many events.
High quality venue and excellent entertainment options. The event center is always spotless. I have not been to a concert here but the audio during events leaves something to be desired in the way of clarity. Parking is good but entering and exiting the parking garage could be more user-friendly.
Saw Frozen on Ice while here in November. The seats are a little narrow and no cup holders between the seats. Would be very loud for a concert. Have gone to hockey games here as well and enjoyed those. They are a feeder team to the Dallas Stars. More action than the Stars games which is enjoyable.
Allen Americans Hockey at its best. These guys put on a good show. Center was very clean. Food was eh, but whos had great food at a game? Not me, and dont suspect it will be any time soon. None the less I was happy to watch the game and would be grateful to watch them host a game again.
Cool arena/event center tucked away in Allen, home to both the Allen Americans (hockey) and Texas Revolution (arena football) and tons of events and conventions throughout the year. Parking is easy with a huge parking garage right next to the center. Ive been to games, conventions, and concerts here, never been disappointed. Its right next to TONS of restaurants for before or after and easy to get to right off 75.
Great Arena! Big enough but not too big. We went to see Teresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium, which was beyond fabulous. The prices at the concession were very reasonable: Large popcorn (like movie tub), 2 soft drinks & a water were well under $20 per person. The place was clean & you knew it was being kept up nicely.
Caution: If you are attending any event here, please come early, at least 15-30 minutes before hand to secure a parking spot for your own good. And now this:I attended a graduation ceremony here. Security is great! Everything is very orderly done, even to your seat assignment. Good lighting, I know too specific, but I had to draw attention to this, its just too good. Its very spacious, seats are not too tight-ended, except you sat down close to a douche who wont let you pass through them to go use the rest room. Speaking of rest rooms, heres pretty well taken care of.Overall a nice place to host or attend any event!
Our visit to the Allen Event Center was predicated on seeing what new items were up for viewing and purchasing at the Home and Garden Show at the Allen Event Center this past weekend. I liked the way the vendors circled the main evet Center because you got to see most items in natural light.
Went to ice skate on a open ice skating day with my family. Its a nice place in the heart of allen and we all had fun. However, make sure to check the open skating hours. They kind of have weird hours for public as they offer lessons as well so be sure to check their hours before going.
I attended the home and garden show this weekend. I have previously attended another vendors show there. My biggest complaint is the lack of seating. Once you go in, you are committed to standing. They have one snack bar that sells unhealthy burgers and hotdogs, and no place to sit and eat. So, if you really want to spend time looking around, bring your own chair!
This event center has a great location, with many places to eat around it. The parking is free which is a plus and its right close by. The place has always been clean and the people working there are always courteous and kind and offering help to get you seated or around the building. This is one of the best venues Ive been to for more than just Allen Americans hockey.
Great place for events. The person booking for this venue needs to book more concerts for the adult population in Allen. Besides, we are the ones spending the money, not the kids. Hockey and Disney on Ice is about the sum of it and the center sits vacant for the majority of the time. Take a lesson from the Event Center in Cedar Park and book some good shows. I have spent a lot of dollars at AEC the very few times they have booked a decent show but unfortunately, thats a rare occurrence. Allen is losing out on so much tax and alcohol revenue by letting their crown jewel sit vacant for a large part of the year.
Went for a sports event. Could not bring in an empty 14x17 bag. It was fine to fill our pockets with everything and find a bag inside, but heaven forbid we bring an empty bag past the steadfast security team. Purses were completely fine, but drawstring bags were a security threat. The alternative to taking stuff back to your car is to leave it out side in a cardboard box that is Use at your own risk. A literal cardboard box sitting out in the open, are you kidding me?Staff at the hot dog stand were rude. Proportions between menu choices are not equal, even if the prices are all equally expensive for the average quality of food. Eat elsewhere before going in, or at half time.
The Event Center side is awesome! I love watching Americans games here! The club tickets are hard to get because they only want to sell you packages, and once they realize you only want single game tix, just stop responding (apparently). All in all, a great venue though!
Attended for one musical event. That took place in the weekend of March. There is long queue to park my vehicle as there are many cars lined up for the event but the management intervened and kept more people on spot to help us and cleared the traffic. We headed to event on time finally..!!
Just left without seeing the Newsboys concert. My wife wasnt allowed to bring her 9 inch by 9 inch purse inside. It wasnt a problem for a hockey game. If this was such a problem why wasnt it called out with the tickets? Not at the door! Newsboys....please dont ever return to this venue. The world is so bad that a Christian concert has more security than a Hockey game. Very Very sad. I will not be returning to this venue for anything.
Was there for a graduation, so it was was crowded, but everything worked out.The only thing I would suggest for improvement is some kind of marking at the parking garages that connects to the seating sections in the building. Where I parked ended up being on the complete opposite side from where we were supposed to sit, so we had to walk all the way around the building (pretty much literally, because we came in right by the stage section on one side and were supposed to be by the stage section on the opposite side, but you cant cut through). They label the garages by their compass coordinates, but that doesnt help if youre not familiar with the inside of the facility, and I wasnt even aware that there were multiple parking garages until I walked around the building and saw the others.
The rows between seats are awfully small. Im 56, sitting with my back fully against the back of my chair, there was not enough room for my legs to fit between my seat and the one in front. Everyone was sitting sideways just to fit their legs in between rows. I complained to the box office, and they happily upgraded my seats to floor tickets. 1 star for the seats, 5 stars for helpful staff.I also like the smaller venue; its not as crowded as the AA center. Very clean. Close to my home.
Allen Americans home ice. Facility is top notch, just the right size for minor league hockey. Friendly staff that does very well putting on a great event around the hockey game. They dont offer free refills on the souvenir cup (which is an Allen event center cup not an Allen Americans cup) which makes that a very painful $6 for a soda. Other than that my family really enjoys our trips to see the boys skate. GO RED!!
While I do like the community atmosphere this place brings to this mix use area, its hospitality crumbles ironically by the people running this ice rink stadium. I think Its a lack of experience, and also diversity of people that attend the events held here. not only are the supervisors rude to the employees but the costumers too. For example; The way I was treated by a supervisor named curtis was ridiculous, he was very irrational and egocentric. in addition, and before moving on; his co workers seem nervous by his apparent short temper. I brought that into criticism to reflect the lack of diversity in the Allens Event Center audience and superior workforce, which weight is stressed upon the shoulders of its backbone workforce (mainly minorities.) They really seemed to be treated and second class citizens. I just feel bad for them, to now that in the eyes of their bosses they are not like me or you. Watch out! Their lack of experiences might weight down on you to next time you come watch The Americans & the Dallas Sidekicks!
Extremely disappointed in the process to enter the event center. Huge lines/groups of people to get into the concert with no ropes to keep everyone in line. When they opened the doors to begin letting people in everyone began screaming and started running to the doors. Once in they scanned your ticket and did a bag search (size of bags allowed was MUCH smaller than the website stated). Once in you had to have someone punch a hole in your ticket, then on to the next person to get a wristband. What all that was for I don’t know. Nothing was organized! We could not see the person giving wristbands and tried to go around and were yelled at by a very rude employee. Not sure if this was the event center or the concert we went to see but the stage should have been higher. There will have to be a really amazing act playing at the Allen Even center to get me to go back there.
Had a suite and the suite was awesome. The building was beautiful and everyone was fun and very nice. Our waitstaff service from Doris (i believe her name was) was excellent. The bartender at the bar was decent. I only rate him decent because he made a pretty good marg. Other then that his service was terrible. Admitted he was a mean person and didnt give good service at all. Overall loved the place other than the bartender. The food at the buffett was pretty good too and reasonably priced for a sports venue.
Absolute worst experience I have ever had at an event venue.More to the point? I have NEVER had a bad experience at an event venue until today. Before attending I THOROUGHLY researched the the policies listed on the Allen Event Center Website and the event itselfs website, and no where was ANY policy listed against photography. The only thing I could find was No Professional Cameras. Which I did not have.So DESPITE me and my Go Pro being allowed through security, being allowed to record and film for a full hour; one man that claimed to be Steven the Head of Security (Despite being sub-contracted and not working directly for AEC) decided it was his job to target and harass me during my ENTIRE STAY once he saw my Go-Pro.Despite asking for some clarification on where this policy was stated, he told me No Photography. Even though everyone around me was using cell phones and I saw about a dozen people run past my seat to go use handheld cameras. IMMEDIATELY spoke in a condescending manner to me that made me feel as if he was VERY aggressive after I asked for clarification on the policy, since I had done research. He said he didnt care what the website said. I figured there was no use arguing with him and told him I would put my camera back in my car. Not sure why he thought he was going to confiscate it from me. This isnt the principals office and you do NOT have a right to touch my belongings. After I put my Go Pro away in my car, I thought we were done with the situation. Nope. He continued to lurk around me for the remainder of the event. Even tried to pull me aside and talk to me about someone ELSE filming in my group? As if that is somehow my fault? Because he thought the person next to me earlier had another camera. I was standing near the hallway rubbing my feet when he came up to me to pull me outside to speak to me as if I was a child. I wasnt even NEAR my seat and hadnt been for a solid hour or so. At that point Id put my Go-Pro in the car HOURS ago.If he WAS in the right, he could have been respectful and nice to me in the beginning and wed have had zero problems. He was clearly he was wound entirely too tight and for something so stupid, he put way too much energy into it.One stupid employee aside, Allen Event Center, you need to have clear, precise rules about what is or isnt allowed at your venue. It needs to be posted. And it needs to be followed to strict guidelines. I almost do not blame that guy as much as I blame Allen Event Center for not being absolutely clear to me in the first place, as I would have never brought the camera to begin with. Posted, clear rules would be great. Then there is absolutely NO confusion when you are in trouble for doing something you were told not to do. No wiggle room either. If it says no photography? It had better be no photography. But you need to be clear. There was also a Sign Size policy on the website placing restrictions on team signage that was completely ignored by the staff. I purposefully did not bring my sign because it didnt fit the sign policy size. Got there? No one was enforcing THAT rule at all.The mobile-only ticket system is a mess. If your phone dies during your visit, you will not be allowed back into the venue. If you have to get up to pee, you will not be allowed back into the venue. Every time you leave the building during longer 8-10 hour events, you have to check out and turn back on your phone. Again, if your phone dies or you do not have a great phone, Im not sure what your options are.The facility itself was nice and clean. The Allen Event Center staff (Not secondary contracted staff) was wonderful, polite, and we had such a great time with everyone. I cant say enough nice things about the ladies working the hallways and the doors. I just sat and talked to a few of them, they were such a delight. Professional, lovely people. Not enough to where I will ever buy a ticket to an event at Allen Event Center again.Do not book your events here. Go for Arlington.
Allen Event Center needs to review and change their bag policy.Expecting people to bring a bag no larger than a clutch is a sexist, ableist policy. You are going to search the bag anyway, so why not allow women and others to bring a reasonably sized bag?Women have many things they need to bring with them. Tampons. Products. Elderly people often carry pads or personal diapers with them. Its beyond embarrassing that you ask them to somehow cram their belongings into a clutch.People in general have things they need to bring with them. Medications. Inhalers. Personal items. You are putting everyone in a severely uncomfortable situation and the reviews here show that you need to be more consistent and rethink this policy.Whoever wrote this policy clearly isnt a woman and doesnt have a health condition.Get your act together, Allen Event Center. Its 2019.
Allen Americans is a pricey ticket for a suburb hockey team. Concessions take forever- credit cards are down and they don’t bother telling people waiting in 20 minutes in line until you get to the register order all your food get it and then they only take cash. Very irritating. Should make an announcement to waiting customers.
Aweful staff! My 4 year old son got sick during Disney on Ice tonight & vomited all over me. I begged the concession people for a small cup with some ice for him as we waited for his dad to retrieve the car and they refused. I know they say “they” keep count of the cups ect but surly one little foggy cheap .009 cent plastic cup could have been spared for an emergency. Then I pleaded with the Disney on ice snow cone guy and same answer. Terrible experience at this heartless place.
High School graduations. Super crowded, hard to get in and out of your seats and the parking area has a garage with little to no attendant! I wanted to scream. Also saw sweet graduates, girls trying to go back in to the restroom. They were turned away by the door attendant at the door! I felt bad for them because to get out of the parking lot was going to take awhile. Go before you leave!
Friendly staff, easy steel to walk on as a rigger. Good easy money when we work there. However, the Allen police department is insanely aggressive. They can and will mess with you hard if they see you around there twice. Guaranteed. If you sit in your car on break in the parking garage, they will come park behind you and commence harassment procedures
Brought a clutch, but apparently it was to big. Lots of angry guest having to put their small purses back into their cars. Then go wait in the long line again to get in. Long wait between sets. Long lines for bars, are they understaffed? Ran out of mixes and certain alcohol. Counting money during show, so guest waiting to get drinks and get back to show...clearly focus isn’t on making people happy or making money.
The ticketing was all fouled up delaying our entry and not allowing me the time to visit the concession stand before faceoff. My seat and several others in the area were broken (unlatched and laying on the floor). No ushers or arena representatives came to rectify the situation. I wound up having to sit in the messed up seat until the end of the 1st period when I finally had to fix it and the 3 others next to me myself. It still wasnt right but we could live with it for the rest of the game. I probably wont be back.
This was the 2nd time me and my wife attended a Sidekicks vs. RGV Flash game at the Allen Event Center. The first time was very nice, entrance door people were polite and so were the fans. However this time around Thursday Feb. 28, 2013 it started bad from the start. Last time we missed the introduction of players since we arrived there a bit late so this time around we decided to get there earlier. Like all sports arenas weve been to, we can arrive and 1-1 1/2 early to situate ourselves and watch the athletes warm up. Like our prior visit we were there to support a young man by the name of Juan Jr. Gamboa goalie for the RGV Flash and of course his team.We arrived there at 6:15 p.m. and being that I printed out our tickets I gathered we walk straight to the doorman and hand over our tickets. There were 2 elderly gentlemen and immediately one asked if we were the cleaning people, being that I and my wife are both Latinos. His presumption was since we are both Latinos we are the cleaning people, we were dressed formally, I a black leather jacket, polo shirt, black dress slacks, and black Stacy Adams shoes. We were both polite as to his ignorance and politely said no that we were there to attend the game. He said we were too early and that 6:30 p.m. was the earliest he lets people in, and suggested we go to the restaurant across the street to kill time. So with that I and my wife took him on his idea. You would think it would end there right, as we were making our way out he yelled, Oh by the way while you are there get you some cerveza, at which they started laughing. At game time we were rooting for RGV Flash and being that they were winning throughout the game one of the fans a woman yelled at me and my wife to go back to Mexico. I turned to acknowledge what she said, at which she yelled at me, “Bring it on. I made eye contact with security at which he told her to calm down or she would be escorted out. One thing I have to admire is Allen Event’s Security, keeps folks from getting out of order.
I was triple charged for three tickets. So I had three total charges to my debit card of 64 dollars (two adult tickets, one childrens ticket). I called the event center to try and get it fixed, but there where little to no help because in their system, they only had two charges, one that went through and one that was denied. But the money is no longer in my bank account so obviously something went through. Now my bank will have to dispute the whole thing.

2022-02-13Went to the Dallas vs Florida mini soccer game, was probably less than 50% occupied. Great arena, lots of visual and audio affects, food prices were, of course, crazy, $5 for a bottle of water, but it’s always like this in these places. Seems like that’s the only way they make money. Good service, clean and amazing atmosphere to get entertained.

2022-03-27Is soccer your thing? Come out with your family for a incredible well priced , family friendly, and watch the Dallas Sidekicks play indoor soccer. The action for the most part is fast paced, high energy, and climate controlled for the ultimate soccer spectator experience. The field could use some updates, like a new painted logo but otherwise this is a true gem. They first started in 1984 and spent many years playing in reunion arena in Dallas before that was closed and they moved here. Tickets were very economical and for the size of the event there is not really a bad seat. Come make memories!!!

2021-03-29Took the family to a concert here and it was pretty good. The venue is not the best but we did have fun. There is some parking issues in my opinion since it is in a crowded retail area that all has signs stated you cant park there unless you are there to shop, etc. So, you have to park in around the corner. It is laid out well and has an okay sound system. It does have a slightly musty smell, but that could be that we were going to a concert shortly after if just opened back up from this whole pandemic shutdown. Either way, good place to go and see a concert.

2018-12-03We went to the Allen Americans game for Teddy Bear Toss night. We lost, yet it was so much fun. It always is at Allen Event Center. It is like a mini American Airlines Center. Except there is no bad seat in the house. I have been here for concerts, and gun shows. It is by far, the best venue I have ever been too. Not too big, not too small, great seats, good acoustics, great staff, and easy to get in and out of.1 issue... I wish the food and drinks were about half the price they are now, then it would at least be a fair price. But it is all that, with good ticket prices and free parking. So I guess, youre gonna have to feel the pain somewhere. Overall, excellent!
