This gym is absolutely awesome. I participate in Krav Maga and Kickboxing classes. It’s exactly what I needed in my life. Great, cardio-intense workouts with incredibly kind owners and participants. I’m not what you would consider “super fit” or “athletic”, but I don’t feel intimidated. Welcoming, motivational teachers, fantastic workouts, encouraging community, and affordable prices.
I wrote a review about 3 months in. Now almost a year and a half in I have lost over 50 lbs, made life long friends and gained more confidence than I could have imagined. The lessons and skills learned in Krav have been applied into my normal day to day life. Joining these guys is a life changing step for the better. Stick with it and see the results just as I did and many others I know.
Our youngest son signed up for TKD this past fall because we were trying to find something that would fit his personality. Mr. Webre and the rest class have made sure he is enjoying and learning from his training. He loves every class!! I wanted share how impressed we have been during this time of pandemic crisis. Cypress MAF has gone above and beyond our expectations. They found ways so our son can still train and make it just as fun as being in the do-jang.
I have been a member for two months to date enrolled in Krav Maga at Cypress Martial Arts and Fitness (CMAF) and have really enjoyed and valued my training experience. I have found CMAF’s Krav Maga program to be extremely beneficial from a self-defense perspective, as a means to improve my level of overall fitness, self-confidence and as an excellent outlet for stress relief.Family-owned by Robert and Valerie Webre, CMAF was established in 2004 and has been in its current location for over 10 years and counting. Robert Webre is an experienced instructor who explains each technique in a clear and concise manner that enables his students to understand how the training relates to real life situations. I appreciate both the school’s proven track record of success and longevity as positive indicators of the quality of the instruction offered.Being prior military, having served for an extended number of years, I am very familiar with life and death combat situations. Throughout my life I have practiced a variety of martial arts and am generally knowledgeable on the topic of martial arts styles and training styles. These experiences have led me to be naturally cautious when considering enrolling in a new school. Before joining CMAF I attended martial arts classes at all of the local schools within a ten-mile radius of my home offering Krav Maga training.I sought a school that was conveniently located to me so that I would be more likely to attend consistently. The school must have an instructor who was both knowledgeable in his art and able to effectively communicate that knowledge to students as an accomplished teacher and role model. The instructor needed to be approachable; not someone displaying a huge ego; strutting about and shouting commands with a chip a mile high on their shoulder – an instructor who alludes to their violent combat experiences and who treat students as fodder to promote their school as being the biggest and baddest around with little respect for those same students or having any regard for their safety.CMAF’s owner and senior instructor Robert Webre is a 5th Dan black belt. Webre has solid experience teaching this Israeli fighting system to amateurs, military personnel, and law enforcement officers. Classes at CMAF educate students on all aspects of the discipline, including how to respond to stress, act on instinct, and execute textbook strikes and blocks. To accommodate all ages and experience levels, the 3,000 square foot training facility is padded to protect students and offers flexible class times.CMAF’s approach offers instruction in Krav Maga that is easy to learn with a logical progression, natural and intuitive to perform, practical to employ under stressful situations and encourages a tactical and technical approach to self-defense and combat. The school offers a large viewing area for parents and family members to observe classes. The school is equipped with Wi-Fi.Classes in all disciplines are normally one hour long, and range from strength and conditioning classes to boxing bag and sparring classes.CMAF’s approach to Krav Maga helps students to train themselves through consistent, correct practice to the point where they can make tough, split-second decisions to defend themselves and their loved ones while also getting a good strength and cardio workout.I’m not sure if a steady routine of Krav Maga would have prepared an 8-year-old me to do anything differently when I was bullied back in school, but the 54-year-old me now knows that I’m strong enough to break someone’s pelvis with repeated kicks to the groin (called the Krav Maga handshake.)Bottom line: I’d definitely send my spouse or teenage children to Krav Maga or one of the other martial arts classes offered by CMAF. It could just make all the difference.
Love going here. Me and my friend joined because we just could not get the workout we needed. Now we LOVE working out and always look forward to it. From the day we started here they have made us feel more than welcome. The workouts are fun and effective. I recommend it to anybody who wants to workout but needs to get in the grove of it while also having fun!
I love this place! Ive been coming here for over a year and a half. Its been the best decision Ive ever made. Ive lost weight, gotten stronger, and Ive made lasting friendships! The people here are amazing! And the owners/instructors are wonderful people too. I recommend this place to all my friends!
I started coming to kickboxing classes at the beginning of June. By the beginning of September, I was stronger, thinner, and fitter. I love the combination of bag work punching and kicking, weights and calisthenics. Its a solid one hour workout. There are different instructors, so a lot of variety.

2020-12-30Great environment to get some exercise and learn self-defense! Robert and Valerie are extremely knowledgeable and professional, which makes for an easy transition regardless of your skills/fitness level. I haven’t done any martial arts in almost 20 years until joining but getting into it again with just the right amount of encouragement and instruction. Whether you’re looking for doing taekwondo or kickboxing as competitive sports, cardio workouts to get in shape, or learning how to defend yourself effectively, this place has it all.

2020-04-24The Webres are absolutely wonderful! My son truly enjoys his time here, which we have never experienced while attending other martial arts facilities. The structure and environment are conducive to making the Tae Kwon Do sessions both fun and instructive. My kid always leaves happy and sweaty. I would definitely recommend this to any parent looking for an activity that teaches not only a life skill but respect and integrity as well.

2020-04-21We have been attending this school almost since it opened its doors. The Webre’s are great people with great values. All three of our kids have attended at one time or another. Our oldest is a 2nd Degree Black Belt who doesn’t train anymore. Our middle daughter is a 1st Degree Black Belt and our youngest is just beginning her TKD journey. We love this school and the instructors and wouldn’t go anywhere else!

2019-06-04My daughter and I participate in Krav Maga and Kickboxing classes together. It’s exactly what we needed. We get to spend quality time with each other, learn valuable self defense all while being a part of a supportive community that motivate us to get in shape. Krav Maga is educational and fun. Kickboxing classes are intense workouts. ZERO shaming and always supportive. When I started it was slow going but now I can kinda sorta keep up. I cannot go a week without attending at least two of each of the classes. Owners and class participants are fun and motivating. CMAF has become a second family. Welcoming, motivational teachers, fantastic workouts, encouraging community, and affordable prices.

2019-10-01Awesome all the way around. The mgt is great, the instructors are awesome, and the kickboxing work outs are awesome. So glad I joined. So in 16mos of working out. Ive lost a total of almost 8lbs, and 15inches with 6 of those inches being in my waist. To me it doesnt sound like a lot, but I feel the difference. Love my workouts, and loving the changes. Thanks for all the awesome workouts. Love you guys
