Order drivethu every couple of weeks. Usually okay to very good, but, today fries were cold and stale. Burger had little taste. Guess everybody has an off day now and again.

I stopped in for a Chocolate Malt. Ive been a DQ customer since the 1960s, back in the days when many DQs in the north closed for the winter. The Alvarado store is very clean and inviting; friendly and welcoming staff.

They have some really nice and helpful employees... Alisea, Zack, and Dylan are always doing a great job. The food comes out quickly, even though there are usually a bunch of people there when we come by. We stop here often for a snack, especially some days after church. It is always nice and clean, too.

Food quality is not up to par with other DQs. Even the drinks were bad. Hopefully this location gets better. The only reason this got a 2 star and not 1 is due to the great people on staff.Food is only as good as what ingredients you are provided.
Update: The manager contacted me to apologize and made it right. We will definitely be giving them another shot!Absolutely awful. Waited at the window for 5 min and lady opened the window and asked if we needed anything. They forgot my 5 blizzards! I didnt order anything else lol. Pulled up and waited another 10 minutes for melted blizzards. They bring them out shoved into a cupholder that they didnt fit into and all the lids popped offand got ice cream everywhere. Employees didnt care or offer a refund or to remake them. Horrible experience and customer service. Will definitely not return and call corporate tomorrow to complain.
I put in a mobile order And when I got there I replied to the text to let them know I was there. I got there at the exact time the app showed my food would be ready. After 10 minutes of waiting I asked the girl sitting at the drive through taking orders If I was in the right place to get a mobile order since this was my first time ordering on the app. She went inside to check and came back and said they had just now gotten notified that I was there and timo go through the drive-through. I went to the drive-through got my food, pulled out of the way to make sure it is correct. They had forgotten some items and mixed up the order. I went back through the drive-through and by the time I got through the second time to let them know items were missing it had taken me 30 minutes from the time I got there. When I said something to the kid at the window about it taking so long and the order being messed up, I committed that ordering with the App wasn’t worth it and he responded with “than don’t do it.

Ordered 2 large ice cream cones. They were basically a small. Tried to go inside to complain, but we stood at the counter with melting cones in our hands for 30 minutes. Just frustrating!
Please do not make ice cream treats until Im at the window. They melt! And please have procedures for packaging ice cream thats to go..i.e, double paper bag so can get home with them not completely melted. I have asked this before but..once again had to explain it all and they still made treats ahead of time and tried to hide it hat fact as I pulled to window.

The burger patty was cold and the meat seemed that it possibly wasnt fully cooked most of the bottom bun was soaked with a grey color from the meat. Also when they ask if we wanted condiments they ended up forgetting to actually put it in the bag.
Tacos are always only half full. Hardly any lettuce and cheese. Pathetic!
Ordered 2 steak finger baskets and 1 taco. Fries tasted like they were made the day before taco was ice cold. They made us new fries but second taco was ice cold also! Don’t understand why these places think they have to make all the food first thing in the morning I would rather just wait a little longer for fresh food. 4-20-2021@3pm

I ordered a turtle blizzard the only thing I got were the pecans, no caramel flavor and chocolate flakes not the first time my blizzard was not good. My peanut blizzard was missing items too!
The service was good every server had on a mask but no gloves I got a ice cream cone and the server accidentally touched my ice cream with her finger and wiped her finger off real fast and served it to me anyway she didnt think I noticed. But I gave it back to them and asked for another one. That was my only negative experience. Other than that everything was alright.
Three times we have ordered a Steak Finger Basket, and asked for plain bread. Every time they would toast it.And if you order ice cream, they will give it to you first, and you have to wait for the rest of the order. By the time the order is ready, the ice cream will be melted.

And the food was fresh and very HOT! , ,Blizzards were right on time, (hold til later order) Great Staff!It would get more visitors if they redid their driveway, and connected it to the street behind them also, so you could access the restaurant without having to drive 1/2 mile to turn around. It Only approachable from the east bound side and not great planning. (Business would be much better ,, if fixed) why it got 4 stars.

These five stars all go to the young blonde dude who worked the window Saturday. Super normal drive through experience until I’m leaving the building. I’m about to get onto 67 when dude comes panting up to my window with my debit card that I’d forgotten in his extended hand.Dude, thank you. 10/10 deserves raise.The chicken and blizzard were also great but tasted way better with my debit card safely in my wallet.

This DQ is just SAD!!Bad management???I observed cook scratch his head with his gloves, pull his mask down and rub his nose, then continuetomakefood withoutchangingglovesandwashing hands!!. I informed manager. She not only dismissed me but told me that its HER STORE!! I see many people getting sick! Once again my Dept of Labor OSHA 500 Health and Safety training kicked in and I canceled order, told people in line. Half walked out with me. Even Hispanic workers who thanked me for being honest and keeping them from becoming sick! What is happening in Alvarado texas?

I would gladly give Dairy Queen a full 5 stars, but franchise owner should teach employees to listen rather than interrupt customers as theyre placing their order. Its very simple...the customers know what they want. All the employee has to say is place your order whenever youre ready, Im listening. How hard is that? In the end, the food was good. All Im saying, it would have been a better experience had I not spent 3 to 4 minutes placing one order for only myself at the drive-through.

This place was my first job. I have always been partial but not so much. I got a chicken tenders basket and a steak finger basket. The chicken strips were so hard my dog refused them, and hes not picky about scraps but he loved the texas toast lol. I dipped the fries into the gravy and decided theres a reason why you dont get really hungry and trust that an ole time favorite would be so great. Check the box before driving off.
It used to hear my cousin Bob Phillips the Texas country reporter. Well cousin Bob did you know DQ moved to Canada? And sold all there stores. Plus the red dye #40 in the cherry flavoring is always optional.
I love this dairy queen and Ill tell you why. Our grandson has severe autism and cannot eat gluten, dairy or casein. Every time we go, these people bend over backwards making his experience so pleasant. They will cook him food that is not listed on the menu but they can put it all together customized for him and charge us accordingly.The staff at this place makes it the best DQ in Texas for us! This place is not good. Burger wasnt cooked all the way. The Dr pepper I ordered was bad tasting had to get it exchanged for a coke. My burger was also cold. The onion rings were good My hubs got a peanut butter shake and he said it lacked flavor. Very dissatisfied and will never come back here Its over priced and not good at all.

Its not often that I think of DQ but its times like tonight that Im glad I did! It reminds me of growing up here in Texas going to Dairy Queen weekly. Its near impossible to find that charbroil taste at any other burger place. I ate off a coupon, tonight a Hunger Buster meal with drink and it came with a mini Blizzard... Just $5.00 ... The staff is courteous and makes trips to your table to check on you. The restaurant was clean even though it was a little busy. There was zero wait.
Boo, I had to pay extra for gravy with my steak fingers. Were didnt Get our drinks, had to ask 3 times. Service just want what Im used to at home.
Still my favorite quick burger place! The chicken tenders here are not available thanks to DQ corporate forcing them to a corporate recipe. GREAT chicken tenders can be had at Wallys, owned by the same family...and Wallys is wonderful!!
These places are getting few and far between, so make sure to stop and enjoy them before they all disappear. Their juicy hamburgers are cooked the old-fashioned way and are one of my top favorites. Though I have to say that the three crispy tacos (plus their taco sauce) are my all-time go-to meal. I get them everytime I visit. Dont forget to grab a Blizzard for dessert!
The chicken and dumplins are the best in the west. You wont be disappointed.
They sell ice cream by the quarts which is great. Better than having to drive 30 minutes to Walmart for some ice cream. I will always return here for any food!
We went there a couple of days ago. We ordered a few blizzards and my dad ordered a banana split and when my dad got his banana split the cherry on top had a whole in it and it was rotten! He wasnt too happy.
I go here occasionally. Decent fast-food hamburgers. The steak finger basket is what i usually get. The ice cream is soft-serve. You can get a traditional swirly-top cup-cone, or a blizzard or shake with different candy choices blended in.The only complaint i have is i dropped in to get a medium root beer on a hot day and it cost me over $2.00. Little much for a soft drink. I can go other places and get a bigger soft drink for $1.
Well, just a bit of a care less attitude. Ordering was terse and on the verge of being rude (after each item she would say Next, Next Next like she was in a hurry and wanted to just get this over with.Tried to engage here with a smile and thanking her for quick service....she had not of that...Driving down the road with my Cherry Limeade...first drink I almost threw-up. My son used to work here. The manager hires teenage friends and they think its funny to give old food, food that blizzards with nats in them, they give customers food thats been returned and thats per managers request because she in trouble for tax evasion so she trying to cut down on food cost to make her paycheck bigger. Not to mention the roach infestation. Trust me when I say DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Ordered Tacos on Taco Tuesday, with no tomatoes. Got tomatoes and got charged $8.78 for tacos and a drink on Taco Tuesday. Tacos were supposed to be $3. Guess I got charged $5.78 for a medium drink. Will be there in the morning to ask for refund.
After waiting for 40 mins for my order i go to leave and have to take a phone call in the parking lot and and decide to check my order. They forgot an meal i go back inside and one of the kitxhen workers is very...rude but only to the counter worker. Arguing saying he made it. The manager did correct the order that was forgotten.. And gave me coupons for 4 free meals. But the level of disregard was just horrible.

Food didnt taste right. Lots of horseplay and attitude behind counter. Bought a kids meal and was denied my DQ Treat. They said the treat was a toy not an ice cream. Coke was out at the fountain and very low on napkins. One star for semi updated dining area. Will not return.

My sister gets blizzards for the family every Wednesday and brings them home. Since the stay at home order because of COVID, they have not been frozen at all. Sometimes even after being in the freezer for our entire meal time, they are not frozen. Today mine was basically liquid. What is the deal, DQ?
The staff there needs to be trained I dont think they understand that the customer is the one paying them.
Food was okay, employees were nice, but service was slow. We stopped here on our way down the highway, and if we would have known that it would have taken so long to fulfill our order, we would have went elsewhere. If you have time to spare then there are really no issues at all.
All employees were wearing masks.... and none covered their noses. I pointed it out and the young man who handed us our food just shrugged. Guess they are checking some box that requires masks. I wonder how the rest of the hygiene is. Too bad.

Burger was raw had to send it back. By that time I lost my appetite. Order chicken strips is safe. Oh, if you have kids dont bother ordering kids meals they dont even give them fries with their meals! So upsetting. I know every location weve gone ALWAYS gives your kids fries with their meals. Just order a regular meal for them.
The last three times my family has come to this particular location they have screwed up our order in some way. Either they gave us a wrong size or the completely wrong item, but when we bring it up they just want to argue about it even with the receipt. And to top it all off my wife was in the ladies room and one of the employees used the restroom looked at my wife and smirk and went back to work!!!

Love a Dairy Queen blizzard, but the service here was awful. There were 4 parties all waiting for food that was up on the counter while the 2 girls working there were messing around ignoring us and our food that was getting cold and blizzards that were melting.
Loved it. Jalitos Ranch Burger is the one I always get, but this particular DQ gave a generous amount of Ranch and it tasted soooooo fine ;)Probably not as healthy for my heart, but oh well. Tastes amazing ;)

So my sister and I go to DQ in Alvarado for dinner tonight, super excited to use our gift cards we got for Christmas. We order separately I get my food within about 5 minutes, my sister sits and doesnt get her food for a good 20 minutes. She finally goes up to the counter and guess what? They never even cooked her food they didnt even start it until she walked up to the counter. And mind you, we are the only people inside, and at least 5 people have come in and left with food. Seriously? 🙄

The customer service is terrible. Its just a big party in there I come in probably four times a month and every time food is wrong. I should mention that the shift manager is the one that help me at the window I said at the window for probably 2 or 3 minutes. She gives me my food takes my money I get down the road and its the wrong crap again this is ridiculous quit playing around.
The fried chicken sandwich was oddly too crunchy and messy but the blizzard was the bomb.

I dont have all the flavors like they do at other stores. They are probably busier than most of those other stores but if they dont know how to order it they just say they dont have it. who knows if they really have it or not.

This place is unbelievable the employees here like to give there phone numbers out through the drive through lol yes my man showed me the number when he came home with our food and threw it away lol that was a while ago but today he decided he hasnt been there since that happened he goes there gets our food comes home and mid burger he finds a dirty hairy sticker that looks like its been stuck to the bottom of someones shoe now I know people are going to make mistakes and hair will accidentally end up in your food but how does something like a dirty ass sticker end up in your food accidentally

It takes forever on night shift for chicken strips. Like 18 minutes because they are too busy visiting. Day shift is ok.

2022-07-04One of the best DQ locations I’ve ever visited. The ladies working the drive thru window are so nice and they are always quick on getting us our order (usually ice cream) and it’s always delicious!

2022-06-09I want to say this is a Great place. Me and my family was on a road trip. Decided to stop by and get something to eat. There was three of us and the food was good, Service was great. I want to give a special acknowledgement to the cashier Kevin Puckott. He welcomed us with a smile and showed us that he was glad to be at work. Most of all me being a senior, he gave me the senior discount and I did not have to ask for it, like other places. You dont ask you dont get the discount. Thanks Kevin

2022-04-19I love Dairy Queen when they get it right. Im not someone who usually complains, but this store specifically gets something wrong on my orders 90% of the time. Missing tenders, steak fingers instead of chicken, missing sides of queso, missing drinks, burger put together wrong -- even if the receipt says the order was taken correctly. :(

2022-06-08Raised the prices. The banana split had not even icecream or toppings. The size is about a third the size they used to be. The peanut butter parfait the ice cream not even to the top of the cup. 3 peanuts on top. Save your money. I will go somewhere else from now on.

2022-05-06Been living in Alvarado for 2 yrs and every time I go here, which arent many choices, the food is cold. I literally have to go in and demand it to be cooked fresh or it wont be. Ugh. The food I got today is Luke warm. Horrible

2022-06-07Not sure what the manager (or whoevers decision it was) was thinking but they had a young lady outside in the drive through taking orders in the blazing sun at 101° weather and with no shade.... There was a pergola out there, however, it proivded no shade.

2022-01-05The food was GREAT, as usual! However, we went through the drive thru because we were in a bit of a rush. It took 45 minutes to get our food! I was STRESSED. We were going to meet my daughters father in West for custody exchange and this made me so late. It was disappointing. I went inside to use the restroom and they were fully staffed so Im not sure what the problem was.
