All hands on Deck! When I arrived i notice how busy it and how effective the employees worked together. They worked together to get people where they needed to go. There was an order. People were treated equally. My questions were answered. There was an intercom used. Tho they were short staff they handle work as it was. It looks like one of the managers was working the food court. I was impressed. Thanks Dallas Greyhound for being a multi culture travel center. No BS here.
This place should be shut down for good! The poor service should never be acceptable! The bus was late, not sure if it ever showed up because we left after an hour. There is a short baggage handler (or whatever his title is) who was super rude, yelling at women & an older lady & all in her face (no men tho) and cussing. Between this man & the top flight security, it was horrible. None of them were professional, the place was nasty & unorganized & employees were not knowledgeable. They were instructing people to get on the wrong bus & having people to wait in over crowded areas when Covid is still bad. I would strongly recommend using another service, this is NOT a place to be!
Wish i could give no stars very rude customer service ...idk if because i was going a short distance but bus was very raggedy seats feel like you about to fall off ...wear and tear so bad on the seats...never again i rather catch the amtrack ...just got off work too late to do so.....
The bus driver had no mask on the whole time! Because he was too busy eating and talking on the phone while driving! The most appalling experience in a greyhound trip ever! He was also very aggressive towards other drivers! The restroom was a joke! It smelled like old cigars and cigarettes! This bus looked like it was made in the 80s! Old disgusting and decrepit!! Do not ride Greyhound!!
I honestly wish I could give half or zero stars. The only reason I’m not still stuck in that godforsaken station is because a Good Samaritan got me out. The initial bus was late by one hour, and because the initial bus was late by one hour, all of us missed the 6:45 bus by 20 minutes. We soon found that once you miss that first bus, they’ll promise you a second bus that won’t come or the driver will refuse to take anyone. The staff were unhelpful, the conditions were terrible, and all of the people in the station were only there because their bus never came as well. Refund your tickets while you can, because they won’t refund them when you ask, and if they do, it’s only a partial refund.
Horrible, people in the lobby were not wearing masks, everyone screaming and cussing at each other which I could really care less but the then bus only arrived 5 minutes before departure ( tickets said we could board 20 min before) and the employees were just yelling at everyone and since nobody knew were to go it just made a big confusion. Not even too mad at that but what really disappointed me was the in the luggage area. One guy put his bag in the bus, they came, screamed at him and pulled his bags out and slammed them in the floor. The guy got mad and they told him to get on the bus or leave. Then they were just slamming bags, trowing them around like nothin. Horrible experience, not going back. I never leave reviews but people should be aware.
On my way passing through this Greyhound station to connect to a bus in my travel itinerary. I had to give a 5 star review only because of the great customer service by the security guards I experienced. The job could be hard within itself dealing with unruly people but they hold it down.On another note the lady over the intercom giving out the announcements needs to touch up her customer service skills. On my itinerary we were supposed to begin loading at 12:30am. By 12:22am she was on 3rd call for the bus I needed. Having everyone hurried to get in line stating that the bus should be here shortly. The bus was scheduled to arrive at 12:50am. In which did not arrive until 1:10 am having me to stand in line for longer than needed. The ball was dropped on this customer service. To top it off her tone when speaking over the intercom was very rude. But hands down to the security guards for making me feel safe. You guys get this 5 star review. Thank you very much appreciated ❣️
This is the very worst greyhound. People are not doing there jobs they are just laughing in peoples faces then they are running 3-6 hrs behind with no excuses this is supposed to be the hub for greyhound. The mgrs the regional mgrs and the ones that should be here are not here. Then the food dept. Has roaches laying on floor and crawling around. You report it they say they are working on it. Then male employees rubbing all up and down on female customers. Now they are saying buses due out at 1045 will or might leave at 145 am. I think they need to refund all of this money and make a public apology for there mess up.
The worst service, the worst treatment, the worst customer service you will ever see in your life. If the bus is late 2 hours, you are lucky .. because it can be late for 5 to 7 hours. it is common as well that it does not come and you will not be refunded for the tickets. They took my money, the bus did not come, i was not refunded and treated so badly. DO NOT USE IT
Absolutely horrific! The employees treat individuals as if they are an inconvenience. I have never seen a group of individuals treat people with so little compassion. Management is a joke and allows employees try to fight customers with no repercussions. Avoid this place at all costs. There are other bus stations.
Bus terminal supervisor made me pay 100 dollars to take my bike. Youre supposed to be able to take a bike as luggage. The oversize charge is 30 dollars plus tax. I gpt charged 100 dollars to bring a bike that I already brought from Ohio to mexico. Only the Dallas supervisors gave me no problem they walk around without masks on harassing people, they dont care about the greyhound policy or what it says on the website. They just want to walk around without masks on give people a hard time. It wasnt a problem all across tge united states and halfway through mexico. Only in Dallas, non mask wearing ahole terminal supervisors
Worse experience I have ever had was left behind well I went to bathroom no loud speaker to hear your bus is boarding only a lil lady trying her best to be heard well calling out the bus mind you its packed 7am lobby full. And the ticket guy was no joy he didnt even have a name tag I have to sit in this place for 12 hrs till the next bus leaves to okc I WILL NEVER EVER RIDE THIS AGAIN I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE worse customer service EVER! Hell the driver didnt even check is passengers Im stuck here for 12 hrs all because I went to the restroom and no intercom system
Maybe not the most clean place in the world but it definitely wasnt the worst. Also really only doing this review to give a shout out to the overnight security guard. For last night and this morning. He was very helpful. And very kind. He even helped me take my bags where I needed because I had to carry my 3 year old who was asleep.
If I could give 0 stars I would this service was horrible. Apart from trying to get to Houston Tx on time because I had already coordinated my ride home the bus driver took us back to the Dallas station after 20 minutes already on our way to Houston Tx. He pointed out several people to get off the bus with no type of feelings for how bad they needed to be in Houston. He delayed my arrival to Houston Tx by about 25 minutes which I had my wife waiting on me in a sketchy part of downtown. On top of that when we arrived no one bothered to get my baggage out from under the bus. I waited for about 10 more minutes and still no one cared to get my baggage off. At this point it was about 11:35 P.M. so I got extremely frustrated so I went and personally took my own baggage out from under the bus compartment. At this time I noticed the bus driver walking away to smoke a cigarette with more than half of the other passengers bags still under the bus and all the passengers waiting at the gate for their baggage. Honestly I think if people are going to pay $180 for a bus ride that should at least come with some type of respect to the customer. There is flights cheaper than that although they were booked already which caused me to have to take this bus. I am extremely upset at this greyhound service and to be honest I think as a paying customer we at least deserve an apology by their staff or management. I definitely will not be referring anyone to this bus service and will not travel with them ever again.
I just want to say the security guards areAmazing. You have a really good crew that works for you guys and I want to give a big props for Don !! He works in the baggage departmentAnd he went above and beyond to help my mother out... Thank you very much !!!. Give that man a raise he deserves it !!!
I purchased a online round trip ticket from Dallas to Sacramento on March 26th. My bus was supposed to be leaving on the 29th. So because I am a unaccompanied minor my mother had to sign a unaccompanied minor form. When we got to the station to sign the form the woman at the counter told us that I wouldn’t be able to go because it’s more than 8 hour which the women on the phone that I had talked to prior of the purchase didn’t tell me. It is now the April 10th and I’m still waiting for a refund. DON’T BUY UNLESS YOU WANT THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!!!!
Absolutely disgusting bathrooms, I mean no locks on any of the stalls but one. Wrappers, hair, urine, soiled tissues, all over the floor. And thats just the womens restroom. I promise you they either dont have janitorial staff or they are the worst workers in history. The staff that is there is rude and demeaning. I support my working class brethren, but these people seem to go out of their way to be rude to you. When our bus was delayed for an hour, no one informed us. We were lined up 45 minutes early for our bus and about 40 minutes after our scheduled departure time, none of us knew what was going on. My husband had to track down a worker who only then informed us that there was a delay. Absolutely unacceptable. Ive never been more disgusted with a place and I hope I never return.
Absolutely terrible. Purchased a ticket for someone to depart on Wednesday from Lordsburg NM at 11:45pm and bus never arrived. This individual waited outside freezing cold temperatures all night Waiting for the bus to arrive. Contacted customer service the next day and was informed they were unable to do anything about the situation. After addressing the problem with four agents they stayed all they could do is get a new departure for him. Had to purchase a night at a hotel and no trips were available until December 20st 12:10am. So inconsiderate and unprofessional to disregard the situation and circumstances their customers. Attempted to track the the bus trip and trip tracker was unavailable.
On 2/16/2020 I paid for a direct trip with no stops to only stop twice lest alone not be provided with a safety restraint for my toddler. I paid $25 per ticket for myself and my child to be on an express bus trip with no stops. The bus arrived 1 hour late with no prior notice. The bus stopped once in South Carolina to only stop again in Georgia. I wasnt provided with an safety restraint for my toddler son nor an adequate seat for myself. My seat was broken not allowing my to sit straight up. The window panel was broken causing a safety issue for my toddler. Greyhound has a no refund policy however they did not provide the service I paid for. I want and command a full refund for my inconvenience and proposing a safety risk for my minor child. I have contacted customer service to continue to be given and rerouted to representatives who refuse to assist me. Ive filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau. I would like to speak with a manager and have this matter resolved immediately,
I have been forced to take the bus more times than I have wanted to but I am done with Greyhound. Terrible customer service - the cashiers treat you like inmates and are ALWAYS rude. Purchased a ticket online and they charged my card but didnt send an itinerary. Told staff the problem and even though I showed her proof that my card had been charged, I wasnt issued a ticket. Was forced to miss the last bus to Little Rock at 3:30 am. Missed work, had to rent a hotel and spend an additional $65 on a train to get home.
I travel through this station often, between Austin and ultimately to the Tyler station. The bus from Monterey that picks up passengers in Austin is often late, and so by the time I arrive in Dallas, the bus to Tyler has already left. On multiple occasions, the manager of this station offers to send passengers on to Tyler via car service rather than wait for multiple hours for the next bus. While I appreciate that accommodation, I am highly disappointed in the treatment I received this last time around, on January 3rd. For the first time, I was not alone in the car that was hired to take passengers on to Tyler - which is fine, I dont have a problem with ride sharing. However, one of the passengers was clearly intoxicated and about an hour into the drive, he asked everyone in the car if he could smoke inside the car. I said no, which is well within my right. This passenger then verbally abused me, and the driver, rather than defending me or telling the man to knock it off or even making him leave the car, proceeded to pull over to allow this man to smoke at the next gas station. The rest of the ride, I was worried for my safety around this volatile and intoxicated individual who was sitting behind me. From what I gather, this car service is contracted directly with this Greyhound station, so I feel like this is the best way to let them know that PASSENGER SAFETY IS IMPORTANT, and I was put in a potentially dangerous situation that I would not have been in if the buses had arrived in a timely fashion. To the managers of this station, please have some sort of policy in place to protect the passengers of the car service you contract with.
My bus was early, clean, and the staff was nice and answered the questions I asked. I even arrived to my destination early and we stopped to rest twice and had stops in between. The review on here will scare you to RUN away but it’s not completely accurate yes the station had suspicious people outside almost every greyhound station does in almost every state. I didn’t go in the bathrooms and yes the station could use some updating but my overall experience was good I traveled by myself and I even had to walk three blocks to the greyhound from the tram.
If you can avoid Greyhound, do it at all costs. There only care is making up time. We left an hour and 45 minutes late due to a bus breakdown. The driver blew by to stops for folks to stretch and get something to drink. We were told...if you get off, Ill leave ya. Thats imprisonment. Again...AVOID!!!
They stole my knife. They said they would mail it. I left my info for them to mail it and no one ever did. When u call its the international center and you cant speak to a representative at the Dallas Station. I will be getting with the police on this matter. Old timer doesnt make this brand of knife anymore so its worth more than their jobs. One lady there was very nice and tries to help but nothing was ever done since. Im very dissatisfied with the service I received. They dont even deserve one star.
Luggage was stolen out of my suitcase.Asked for security to review and was directed to manager. He said he would look but, never seen him again. His shift was over so he left i guess. The staff was very pleasant and nice.A lady working got me a cup of water. And i am not blaming Ghound for my belongings being stolen but nobody seen anything. All the cameras and security and nobody seen anything.Thats crazy.Be careful if you venture out.A whole lot of sketchy stuff near by.And dont leave alone at night.
Yes, sanitation is an issue at greyhound, but that’s no biggie. This is in fact my first time traveling with them an had no complaints...till I reached Dallas. Read a lot of reviews on people saying they were drugged, robbed, an security took a roll in all of it. But before reading those I already had a hunch about it. Security is very rude, disrespectful, racist (was called cracker and honky more times than I’ve ever heard) greyhound is very convenient an was on time like they should be, only reason why it’s 1 Star is cuz of the security. Never seen a rent-a-cop take there job as a joke as much as they did.
Horrible, Horrible experience and NO customer service. You need help with something?? You are ON YOUR OWN. No answer anywhere - they put you In a phone loop. And no help, responses or answers VERY Rude and just don’t care about the customers OR their bags!! Which have been lost for 3 Weeks now!! UPDATE- we never got assistance & all bags were lost! I drove to a facility to physically try & find the bags myself and upon walking in found 2 employees going through the bags and boxes of peoples things!!!I will NEVER recommend Greyhound. If you read this please be cautious as you travel!
Bus lady from Austin was late, then stopped in Waco, TX at Flying J stop since she ran over her hours & had to wait over an hour there for another driver, which placed Dallas arrival at about 2.5 hrs late thereby missing my 9AM doctor appt. Would have appreciated a notice so I could make other travel arrangements. I hope Greyhound service takes notice & improves their customer service in the future!
It’s was a bad experience for me. And it’s was my first time using Greyhound. From Atlanta to McAllen TX. The first bus change we had was late so that caused us to wait 7 hours for another one. Then when that other bus came along the AC broke down so we rode 17 hours with on AC. Then once we got to Dallas TX my luggage disappeared. Supposedly they get out all the luggage and send it already to it’s destination but I was NOT notified. 3 out of 4 of my luggage appeared. But the one that was mine is still missing. They were rude. And impatient. Never again.
Ive just arrived for a bus scheduled to depart within the hour, only to be told its been cancelled due to lack of ticket purchases. No warning, call, email or message. I will not be using Greyhound again after this experience. The inside of the facility was 6/10 but the outside is 1/10 for the amount of people asking you for a smoke or money.
CleanWell RanSafeI disagree with a 2pt rating. This Facility & I call it a facility to stress the expression-of-thankfulness, for MY safety! They ran that damn place like a warden and I respected their candor; willingness-to-communicate, rather than bark-at anyone.Their professional staff commmand the rules, enforced safety, informed the schedule and facilitated a tip-top experience for this 5⭐ review.Pro Tip : out the doors and across the street - on the way to the McDonalds - are bus seats... Youll probably have to ward off a couple of dudes looking or asking for something - but its a great, safe place to smoke your flowers & discover a great view!Excellent5⭐
The bus station is reasonably spacious and nice. The waiting area is also pretty good with comfortable seats. The lady at the counter was a little not-so-friendly, but its fine, at least she was helpful enough. The other staff at the bus were really nice too. Im hoping my journey will be as smooth as the service looked like.
Worse experience in my life time. Ride was supposed to be 9 hours. It made 16 hours! Bus drivers are non educated and rude. He stopped in the middle of the road to tell all passengers to shut up. In a stop at midland he had everyone get their tickets out once again and checked them which took over an hour. He searched 3 passenger bags accusing them of having narcotics. He did not find nothing. Made other passengers pull up there pants before they got into the bus. Once at our destination he locked us all inside the bus for 45 minutes! Never again! Worse customer service worse drivers ever!
This bus station is always very busy upon arriving there or transferring buses to go to the destination in which Im heading but in all my times having to go to this location I must say they are a very dirty place and I do understand it must be a hard job to maintain a certain amount of cleaning in such a busy place but I am always scared to use there restrooms and it is never clean and I feel they have a certain level of responsibility to maintain a clean establishment to make the stress and discomfort of there commuters a little less than it is. But other than that the people on staff are pretty good about being helpful and keeping us aware of where we should be and to assure we do not miss our bus!
This was quite an experience. I booked my trip online. Checking in was quick and painless. There are a few employees here who are exceptional. No one gave me any problems. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Most of the workers here are HORRIBLE. I had to transfer busses and had to wait about 4 hours. I didnt have a problem waiting, it was much cheaper than flying. But the things I saw....were insane. I saw them kick out a few homeless people, only for them to return 5 minutes later. Ive seen the staff disrespect travelers who had legitimate questions. Ive heard the staff make racial remarks regarding people who do not speak fluent English. Even the food staff was HORRIBLE. I watched them handle my food and was in shock. If you dont mind being disrespected by the staff or being bombarded by the homeless then by all means, enjoy book youre ticket. As stated before, some of the staff was exceptional. About 2 of them. Everyone else seemed miserable and tired. I have been in customer service for 8 years and if I saw any of my staff treat anyone like this they would be fired. Come on guys, even if you hate your job, youre here. Fake it or change careers.
I spent 13.5 hours listening to the angry employees yelling at customers. I was led to on several occasions about where my bus was and when it was due. The urinals had mold growing on the screens (which should not be possible) and the food was ridiculously over priced.I saw people who had been jerked around by the hateful staff for TWO DAYS. The station, itself, was disgusting. The floor was sticky and covered in trash.I will never return to this company. I have been a long time customer and this was so negative that Id rather spend triple the money and just fly. There was exactly one lady (the only Hispanic as literally everyone else was black) who tried really hard to help. Everyone else ought to be fired and replaced. One star because I cant give less.
Bathrooms were disgusting. Employees were rude. I asked an employee if I was headed to the right line, showing him my ticket, and he said, I dont know what line are you supposed to be in? I wasnt sure what line I was supposed to be in, that is why I asked him and handed him my ticket. Also, while in the restroom, (my luggage was outside the restroom), an employee took my luggage. When I asked what happened and I mentioned I should be boarding my bus and I needed the luggage. I got multiple reactions from the employees. All extremely rude and unhelpful. Finally after getting an employees attention I had to demand they go get my luggage. All this time I am trying to make sure the bus did not leave without me. After bringing my luggage out, some other employee told me to apologize to the employee who got my luggage. When I refused to do it upon her demand, she tried to take my ticket and say, I wasnt allowed to ride the bus. I just grabbed my luggage and ignored the lady and went to wait by the bus for the bus driver to come and open the doors. (Everyone else was already inside.)Also, the people speaking over the intercom cannot be understood. Sometimes their accent was so strong you could barely even tell they spoke English, much less what directions they were giving. The only pleasant part about the trip was the bus driver was very kind. 5 Stars for the bus driver, the rest of the employees were complete A-holes.
Nice area inside. Resturants, clean bathroom. The major downside is if you step outside during a layover, then you will be harassed by ppl that arent riding.I was asked a dozen times for a smoker, asked if I wanted any drugs, alcohol, orelectronics. One guy came bye on a scooter announcing he was the crack dealer. The security guy was on it, steering the aggressive sellers, beggars away. I wouldnt walk around at night there, which is unfortunate cause I love explore new cities.
One of the nastiest Greyhound stations I have ever been to. The bathrooms was absolutely repulsive! There was no toilet paper at all and people were bathing in the sinks and not to mention the horrid smell. I had to walk down the street to the McDonalds at 2-3 a.m. in a city Im not familiar with to use the restroom. I would never take a greyhound from Dallas again if possible!
I had three transfers and 2 of the buses total to 3 hours late. I only gave 4 stars because they did send me a discount for my return trip and one of the drivers bought me lunch. The trip itself was fun! I haven’t rode the bus since I was 16. I have several trips booked so I hope those experiences be better!
Greyhound Bus company are awful thieves and robbers, but thou shalt not steal and get away with it. I purchased an online ticket and rushed to the bus station to catch my bus, however there was some sort of an attack downtown as some fool ran his truck into a news station and had traffic backed up for miles. However I still managed to make it to the station 5 minutes before my bus departed. They even scanned my e-ticket and everything, but when it came down to my luggage, they wouldn’t let me board because my bags weren’t checked. The bus driver didn’t even acknowledge me after she was informed about it then she got on the bus and left. I went back inside for a refund and they wouldn’t issue me one claiming tickets are non-refundable. Under the circumstances they should’ve issued me one without hesitation as the downtown chaos was outside of my control. So I’m out 120 dollars because they’re bad business dealers who lack compassion for their customers and lack professionalism for the brand they represent. Surely, their value statement isn’t honored them, which states, “As a company, and as individuals, we value integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, constructive self-criticism, continual self-improvement, and mutual respect. We are committed to our customers and partners and have a passion for technology. We take on big challenges, and pride ourselves on seeing them through. We hold ourselves accountable to our customers, shareholders, partners, and employees by honoring our commitments, providing results, and striving for the highest quality”. All lies!!!!! I do not recommend them to anyone who work hard for a living and can’t afford to be swindled out of their money. If you have money to throw away then I highly recommend them as they won’t let you down. I had to give them one star in order to write a review, but it’s not worth it. Flee from this bus station.
Used Greyhound once and won’t be ever again. Don’t even waste your time and money you’re better off with MegaBus. Or even flying you’ll spend the same amount of money in the end anyway. It’s a ripoff, tickets are ridiculously overpriced and you’ll often find yourself buying two or three tickets instead of one because their policies are horrid. Customer service is NONEXISTENT. The employees at this location are unbelievably rude and unhelpful and frankly useless I was floored at the way the woman at the counter spoke to me when I asked a perfectly reasonable question about the ticket information. I wouldn’t be too happy working for such an awful company either, I can’t imagine they’re a stellar employer but such rudeness is completely unacceptable. The call center was equally helpful too the rep didn’t know anything. Not to mention the location was filthy and trashed it may as well not even be maintained. The experience all around was appalling don’t waste your time with Greyhound.
The worst service I had ever seen. My bus was late almost 2 hours. One staff member was not talking but yelling at people. Schedules got changed, delayed and then delayed again.Complete chaos. The bathrooms were horrible. They put me on the wrong bus, after me asking like 3x if that was the correct bus. I asked the bus driver a question to confirm I was on the correct bus and she completely ignored me,when someone asked a question,it was the same lack of professional that you expect for a bus driver to have. I have come to the conclusion that GREYHOUND lacks leadership and it trickles down all the way to the ticket counter staff and to bus drivers. GREYHOUND used to be the top of the line bus service, sadly they now lack respect and integrity. I would not take my family on this bus EVER again.
They took my money, I got a ticket days before for $65. When I arrived they could not find it with the confirmation #. So I was forced to buy a new ticket on the spot for $133, when I noticed I was charged for both, I contacted customer support only to be told theyd give me a credit. I am from Spain, so a credit would not benefit me, after complaining long enough they offered to refund me the cheaper of the two tickets. Although a mistake on their behalf is what forced me to have to buy the expensive ticket. Also, representatives at the location have the worst customer service Ive ever seen. They essentially forced me to buy an expensive ticket. My confirmation number was valid. Will NEVER use Greyhound again. This company should be shut down.
Went through here twice on a one week round trip. On the way down the staff was rude when asked questions and on the way back they pulled my bag off the bus before I got off and tore it on the bottom. This station gets the worst review of the trip and its the one that should have been best Big let down Dallas you need to step up your game
How does Greyhound stay in business? There are people sleeping on the sidewalk right outside the front door. Drug addicts everywhere. You cannot get to the door without being approached by at least 2 or 3 of em. Nothing against people who struggle I help em out when I can but you shouldnt be tripping over them 5 from the front door. Meanwhile if you dare light a cigarette within 50 of the same door someone will come out and scream at you? One girl standing in line when I walked in and asked how long shed been waiting. Her reply? Over an hour nobody at the desk but employees wandering all over ignoring us standing there. When the line grew to 5 people 30 min later the giant 300lb girl finally came out from the door right behind the counter looking super irritated and talked to each of us like we just kicked her child in the face. You cant even describe the level of disrespect you have to deal with and it was EVERY employee all the way from Dallas to Chicago. They talk to people like were all inmates at the county jail. Ill include a pic of the bathroom so people can see for themselves the level of disgusting they will see on the bus. (And it was 5 min after they cleaned it) Id rather walk back to Texas than deal with these morons again.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. I have been through here many times and it is the worst Greyhound station I have been to. Maybe they are doing the best they can in this antiquated facility. Terminal is miles too small, understaffed, always crammed with passengers who are not sure where to stand or how to maneuver through the crowd to find food or a bathroom. The overworked, minimal staff cant answer their questions. Totally chaotic. There is no discernible p.a. system to help you; staff yell directions that cant be heard. If you ever figure out what line to stand in, you have to go through a greenhouse to get on your bus. I believe Greyhounds headquarters are in Dallas; the station here must be a total embarrassment to the company and a disgrace to the city. If possible I would rate it zero or less but the one positive is there are some exceptionally good bus drivers that go to/from Dallas. And there is decent hot food there if you can manage your way through the crowd.
The area is very dangerous though the city is beautiful. You can see homeless people fighting or on the streets as you come and go. If you wish to stay safe i recommend staying in the line of view of larger groups acting like you arent afraid and talking to people. If you talk to people the risk of someone trying something decreases as they know that you could identify them if they were to try something. There is food and bathrooms inside.
Horrible place and a horrible company. Absolutely hands down worst customer service ive ever seen. I was layed over here for around 30 hours after traffic caused our bus to be late. I had to walk through Dallas to find a hotel i could afford so i wouldnt have to sleep at the bus station. I was approached by shady looking people outside the station asking me for money, even going so far as to interrupt my phone conversation. I had a woman high on what looked to be herion, randomly sit down beside me for about 20 minutes untill she finally laid down and then slept for 4 hours. She woke up, thanked me for watching her and stumbled off into the crowd until she finally disappeared.
On my way from Chicago IL - Dallas TX the bus began to smell like an uncleanly toilet after transit and lasted the whole trip. So gross. Luckily this was a little more direct trip only one interchange. If your lucky you get a good clean bus. Or on a interchange... get a dirty bus with unhygienic people.. some staff is professional and respectful. They’re a 3 out of a 5 bus company.
This is my first experience with Greyhound. When ever I travel I usually take my personal vehicle or a plane. But I thought I’ll take a bus since we only live once and I want to experience it. This bus station was okay. I noticed it was understaffed and overcrowded. The bathrooms were dirty but I have seen worse. But it was still unacceptable for a Greyhound to let this happen in there bus station. In my opinion if the bus station was bigger, cleaner, and staffed properly I feel people would might like to travel by bus more often.
I traveled to San Antonio on Valley Transit, in San Antonio I transfered to Greyhound. This was my third tome traveling by bus. The first two times were good. I thought the Valley Transit bus was over crowded all 3 times. This time once I transferred to Greyhound, it was a nightmare. I wished I could have gone back to Valley Transit, even though the bus was full, it was spaceous. Greyhound was overbooked, done people had to get off, the bathroom was filthy and the bus was super cramped. Im 53 and my knees were touching the seat in front of me. The temperature was very uncomfortable, way too warm. The lady across from me kept fanning her self with a piece of paper. She was perspiring. I was concerned that she would have s panic attack. I have to go back home tomorrow and thinking that this may happen again really scares me. Im 66 years old and diabetic. I dont do well I. Situations where the temperature is overly warm
After reading the reviews about this place I expected bad things. The a/c worked great, there were clean seats for waiting, I could hear announcements clearly, the 3 staff I had contact with were polite and appreciated my politeness, and my bus left on time. Four stars because it was crowded but come on people... its a bus station. Well done Dallas Greyhound.
Ive traveled a lot - and out of all the greyhound bus stations Ive been to - this is by far the most dangerous and badly staffed station in the country. The amount of homeless and drug abuse going on in this building is actually quite menacing. Id love to stop the review here and say that is all I dealt with.... but it goes on. My first bus was late and I was expected to wait over 12 hours for a bus (making a 36 hour trip a 50+ hour trip). I requested a refund and then when that was aproved I had to stand in line to have it processed so I could go to the airport and catch a flight that was actually a third of the price of my bus ticket... after standing there and speaking with a rep she made me wait in line again until she verified with a supervisor that she did indeed refund my ticket and then I had to wait for this lady to process every single person in the line multiple times over before she filled out the sheet of paper authorizing my refund. After watching this lady for roughly an hour of waiting - I witnessed what is easily the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. There simply was just no overlooking how bad it was. She treated chemo patients and elderly so bad that I literally had to cheer them up and help them stay positive. After finally receiving my refund I was advised to wait at the station as multiple people had already been robbed just outside the greyhound that night.... so I did... and I didnt exactly feel safe. I should note - Im a combat veteran and this place was no walk in the park nor what youd expect to see in america. Id also love to end the review here and say thats it but no... to reiterate on what has been said by others... the building is confusing even though its small - the way they announce your schedules is unlike any other station I have visited and not intuitive in the slightest. Greyhound is simply the worst way to travel in America without question. Honesty - consider hitch hiking or alternatives before ever riding greyhound.
There’s so much to say about this horrible place. Unfortunately I had to be here to catch a late bus to Houston. First of all, the entire perimeter of the building is surrounded by homeless and sketchy people. Inside, the men’s restroom was so disgusting I had to hold my breath. There were two men using the sinks to wash personal belongings. It seems that some of the homeless people come inside and try to fill their cups up from the soda machine and beg travelers for money. I held on to my bags because it felt like personal belongings could be stolen here. Also, in the 30 minutes that I was here, a homeless man with all of his belongings was laying face-down in one of the bathroom stalls. A security officer had to kick the door down and try to wake him up. The security suspected he was overdosing or something, I don’t know because I left right then and there. I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 for 2 reasons: #1 they can’t control the homeless population that’s in and around BUT they did have an employee who would routinely ask for bus tickets and would kick people out of the station if they didn’t have them (but it’s atill not enough) and #2 they actually had hand soap in the restroom.
One of the worst experiences of my life was here. I was ROBBED of several hundred dollars outside the station. I reported it to staff and they didnt care at all. I reported it to the cops and they did nothing and laughed at me over the phone. The staff was rude and dont allow any outside food at all! I was constantly harassed by staff about where my bus ticket was, even though I tried to explain that I was ROBBED and had no money anymore for a ticket. The food was over priced and the bathrooms filthy and old. I could go on. The driver of the bus, however was professional. I was SO GLAD and relieved to leave this god-forsaken nasty place. Skip this city on your itinerary. If Dallas is your final destination, pray alot.
Most of the issues I have arent with the station, but with customer service at the company. I am used to flying and using greyhound is not a customer service oriented experience. Megabus is definitely the way to go. None of the employees at the station are rude but most arent particularly friendly or attentive. 2 out of 3 times that I have booked Greyhound though, I have had to cancel my ticket because the bus was running so late and once the cancellation process was a huge pain. Had to spend at least 15 minutes on the phone to do it. The company is definitely not focused on customer service and seems to be almost in logistic shambles.
Come in with proper expectations, and the greyhound actually wasnt that bad. The ride itself was smooth and on-time to a T. I only did a short trip to Austin so I cannot speak to the longer trips, but definitely was satisfied with the bus and the ride itself. The station is a whole other concept. I never felt unsafe per say, given the security that was in there, but it is in a suspect area with a lot of homeless people around. And inside the station its pretty dirty and crowded. Definitely avoid the restrooms if you can.Overall, if you come in expecting a last resort type travel, Greyhound is a great choice from getting you from A to B, particularly if youre not in a time crunch. And avoid lingering around the station for too long.
If I could give 0 stars I would! Today when trying to get a ticket to check in my luggage one of the representatives was extremely rude and very unprofessional. The place was extremely packed and I overheard multiple people talking about delays and how they had been waiting for hours with no info on when they should expect to depart. After the lady handed me my ticket for my luggage I asked if she was aware of any delays in my departure time? She said, What? (Rolled her eyes) I dont know. And if it is delayed I dont know how long. Everything is delayed. (Looked away and said) Next in line...
If I could give this a 0 out of 5 I totally would. They have horrible horrible service they were rude when we got to our final stop we come to find out THEY lost our suit cases I tried to talk to the supervisor and he screamed at me and was screaming of plenty of other people as well 5 days with out our suitcases and they told us they couldn’t help we will never travel with them ever again.
Theyve definitely taken steps to improve this terminal over the years, but there are still lots of homeless people panhandling outside, making it feel a bit unsafe particularly if you have children. The bathrooms are horrible at best, and the lobby seating layout could be improved significantly. The staff is usually very helpful though, so thats a plus.
If I could give this a zero stars I would! This terminal was horrible! We arrived 45 minutes late to get to our connecting bus and of course when I asked for a refund I was told if I wanted a refund I would need to speak with a manager. I asked to speak to one and it was like I had said nothing at all. The restrooms are disgusting. In the first 5 minutes that we were there my boyfriend was approached by 2 people for drugs!! The employees were extremely rude and need a few lessons in customer service. They acted as if they didnt even want to be there and honestly IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB...QUIT! I only remember one persons name and it was Shequela and she was completely rude to anyone who spoke to her. Never again will I ride a greyhound bus.
Absolutely the worst! Its afforadable but not worth it- at least for long distance travel. Customer service was the worst and restrooms are dirty. Everytime I asked for help I was just brushed off. DONT PAY MORE FOR A PRIORITY SEATING. Its first come first serve. While the person I was traveling with went to get our baggage checked, I waited on the bus, but at the same time a lady was given a pass for not getting her bagggae checked. Also the ticket line is the same as the baggage check claim lane. So as you can imagine, the line was moderately long but your also battling against time for your bus not leaving you behind. So much went wrong at this station that its just not worth it. AsAfir the bus theres a charing station, free WiFi, and reclining seats. However the seats are so uncomfortable and stiff, I constantly had to log on the wifi , and you dont need a charging station when you got a power bank. Sorry but your amenities dont make up for your bad service! I learned my lesson and I would much rather pay more for a better experience.
I had the worst experience ever with Greyhound. Im a tourist in US and was looking forward to explore US. A few days back, I took Greyhound bus from Orlando to Tallahassee. On arriving at the destination I came to know that my check-in luggage is missing from the bus. We tried our best to contact and reach out to the concerned authorities...Most of the times no one picked the call or even if they did no one took any responsibility. On visiting the station, the concerned ticket collector confirmed that he loaded the bag in the bus...then how did it went missing...I have finally filed a complaint but no use. Still waiting... Everything I had for this trip is lost now... This is a nightmare... Never expected such an experience in US. On further enquiry we came to know that many other people have experienced such a thing with Greyhound. Looks like a scam. strongly suggest to avoid Greyhound bus service at any cost.
Service absolument atroce! Absolutely horrible service! Apparently, no one at their call centre can understand basic English or French. At the beginning of the call, I clearly said that I had a discount voucher to use, which could not be redeemed online. Therefore, I had to book a trip over the phone. The first agent I spoke with, named Remelo or something, asked me FOUR TIMES if I wanted to use my voucher. I asked him if he knows what active listening is, and then, in frustration, I hung up. Next, I called and spoke with a Maria. I said I had a voucher, and she asked if I had the voucher. What did I just say? Its unfair that Greyhound is too cheap to operate a call centre in North America somewhere, where the employees speak fluent English and French. Maria was about to book me a one-way ticket, she didnt even give me the chance to say whether it was one-way or return. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, she said the supervisor was otherwise engaged. The supervisor was probably taking other complaints. I HATE GREYHOUND.
This station is appalling. For the size of the city the station is tiny, there is not enough seating for everyone packed in here. People are lined up along walls and pillars. The staff Ive met have been polite but I just cant give it more than 1 star because of the filthiness. All tables are dirty, sinks in bathroom are dirty, womens toilets clogged and overflowing. The smell of urine is overpowering- you can smell it by the pizza hut. When you look at the floor you can see footprints tracked through from the restrooms to around the station and its not from mop water, its from the toilets. Half the bathroom doors are broken, the toilet paper rolls are on the floor absorbing the dirty water. Was here for an hour and it turned my stomach, was so happy to leave. Ive been to other greyhound stations so I know this isnt the norm. This is just...disturbingly filthy.
This place had five security guards outside. I parked and hobbled up there to the door. I forgot my mask, but when I opened the door the guard said, you read that sign on the door, now go to your car and get your mask. She was very hateful. So I hobbled back to my car put on my mask. While I was inside grey hound bus stop, that same guard came in with her mask below her chin . What a hypocrite. And shame on her for treating people badly. Oh and by the way she had plenty of paper mask in her hand. That she was handing out only to certainly people.
Terrible service and unreliable to be on time. Attempted to book online and it was a hassle and told me to check with the station to see if the there were tickets available, well I called and after being on hold for 30 minutes was simply told I’d have to go check at the station. Got there, bought a ticket and the bus was late. Wasn’t a huge deal but the driver was also super rude. Had to switch busses in Houston and they decided to make an extra stop in temple so instead of getting to my destination at 5pm I’m now told it won’t arrive until 5:45pm.
Dirty bus station and very rude staff. AC stopped working on both of my trips in the middle of Texas and buses delayed by HOURS. Kids were crying histerically but nothing was done. My legs were crushed in between the chairs because the seats were defective and kept sliding back everytime another passenger sat down so they were uncomfortable as well. Reps in the Phillipes are VERY RUDE and cant hardley understand proper english, even had someone laugh in my face. I have video evidence and will be contacting an Attorney. Thanks for making my trip memorable Greyhound.
I have no respect for greyhound now. This has been a aweful trip. Delays, bus broke down, and upon leaving the terminal, people where left behind who had been on the road and in the terminal sincr 4 am. 4 of my traveling mates where priority and a bus full if folks who walked in where allowed to board. No quality service what so ever. Two service veterans and handicap where left behind. I will never ride again. It was 15 yrs since I last road. And nothing has changed. Its worse.
The one thing I enjoyed was the Latin female worker working hard to get herself into a military future. She is very nice. She is the daughter in the kitchen, and she KNOWS HOW TO LAY YOU STRAIGHT IF YOU ACT UP. Lol I really enjoyed talking to her. There are some very decent people working there who are very polite. Though I can agree that the place is very scattered with bums and riders doing drugs in the smoking area. Too common. Been there 12 hours and I couldn’t have one smoke without someone pulling out or fighting over weed or something.
If I could give it negative stars I would! Bus before mine was delayed 3 hrs and then they took our bus so we had to wait for a rental but they didn’t tell you any of that, my wife and I had to find out ourselves thru a bunch of people who apparently “don’t get paid to care” cuz they all just shove you around and make you wait an hr and a half before they get the rental. Then they give you attitude and shove you on that. There’s no respect and no courtesy from anyone not even the drivers who are always late. I don’t think I’ve ever had a decent trip on the greyhound for Dallas to San Antonio or vise versa but as most who take the greyhound we DONT HAVE ANY OTHER WAY TO TRAVEL it seems like since they know that it’s like job security so maybe who Evers in charge of these greyhound stations should check people’s attitudes before giving them a job in costumer service huh? And they should also check those nasty toilets at the stations. They place probably has bugs or something idk it’s gross. And one more thing the traffic on i35 has been backed up for miles since early this afternoon and they still sent us that way. We’ve been sitting still for almost 3 hrs now I should have been home over an hr ago but I’m still 2 hrs from San Antonio
Greyhound isnt that bad as long as you arent too offended by the homeless, crazy shenanigans, and people trying to sell you drugs in the bathroom. Ive never had a bad experience, but I am not easily offended and bring my own snacks. Also, I noticed on my last trip that if you keep your face in a book no one will bother you. Period. I also purchase tickets ahead of time and print them at home and treat even the ass faces I meet with courtesy as I know it will all be over soon.
This black woman that was supposed to give me my luggage pass was very rude to me for no just reason. After waiting for ten minutes behind the customers she was attending to, she deciding to tell me rudely that i was supposed to come through a line where nobody was. I went back to my seat and came back later when the bus was boarding. then she became so slow in giving me just the pass and was still rude to me, taking all kinds of nonsense while i was quiet all the time. I could tell she was really rude naturally and since then, i have never followed greyhound again. I changed to Megabus and its so much faster and better in every other way. Besides, they always delay customers for long periods of time at Dallas Greyhound station. Dont seat at the back of the bus, the toilet stinks and flies may give you company
Bus number 30986Rude driver! Stops almost every hour to fill his own drink up but doesnt say anything to passengers that we can or cannot get off to stretch/smoke and when we thought we could because he got off and went inside, he yelled at us to get back on and that were running on our time when we are already running 20 mins late because he takes his sweet time every stop he makes and doesnt communicate anything to us. Very aggressive driver too and slams brakes constantly. So very rude to passangers and even the passangers that need assistance he wasnt very nice or helpful to them at all either. I still cant belive he so rudely said were on our time when were all already in the bus waiting on him. This man should NOT be a greyhound driver or anywhere near people who have been patiently traveling for 2 days.
Absolutely deplorable service . bus driver argues with paying customers because he is more than an hour late. Threatens to kick paying customers off for wanting to know why hes late and when we are leaving . its the middle of the night and in the middle of nowhere. Supposed to be in Dallas tx at 230 am and we are only supposed to be here for 15 mins. We are more than 3 hours away at 12am . its cheaper to fly . greyhound is a joke with no punchline except a slap to the face . if I could give a rating of negative 40 stars I would because greyhound is govt subsidized and they feel that they can be rude all they want and I should be honored to give them my money. Do yourself a favor and walk or ride a bike or fly . dont take greyhound or amtrak as they are both run by the govt
Restroom is never clean, food pricing is way too high. I have 10% discount on food but the prices are so ridiculously outstanding I dont even bother. Id rather walk to the 7 - 11 and get things there. Ticket pricing is the best thing Greyhound has to offer. Plus I can never understand the Spanish lady over the intercom, why is she even on there? Lastly, Ive never seen so many homeless people in the same area, not good.
Greyhound buses arent bad, but their customer service is. I accidentally bought a ticket with the locations switched. Due to their strict no refund policy, I had to spend twice the amount of money on a single trip. They gave me an L, so they can take an L in their rating.
Absolutely rediculous, they checked my baggage in and refused to let me keep it to make sure it got on the bus with me, then they didnt put it on my bus apparently and now I have no idea where it is. I have been making calls for 3 days trying to track it down. I have absolutely no faith in Greyhound bus lines nor will I use them again, renting a car would have been safer and faster.
If I could Id choose 0 stars lol. The employees are super rude and arent patient with you. On August 7th-8th 2017, bus 6603, I got the worst driver ever. I was on the phone, literally whispering to my sister about where I was, and the driver glared at me. Just because Im a high school student doesnt mean Im the obnoxious one. The two women behind me were screaming at each others face. Then, the driver doesnt know how to drive. I dont understand why hes trusted with the wheel and others lives. This man speeds and doesnt slow down on bumps, causing the entire bus to jump and making our drinks go everywhere. Finally, when my mom and I were walking from the gas station to the bus (we still had 10 minutes left), the driver shut the door the moment he saw us. Racist much? He didnt open the door until other riders came and attempted to open the door. Please do something about this worker and your service in general. You should start fixing your workers attitudes. From the looks of it, people hate your station.
Me & MY Fiance left on the Bus from Jacksonville Florida running late too Dallas Texas. We were Two Hours late Getting intoDallas Texas Terminal last Night! But the Employees were Really GREAT Folks here!!!!! They gave Me & My Fiance Food Voucher! Then They Also Got us a Very Very Very Nice Motel At Ramada Inn... Dallas Texas Greyhound Bus Terminal is Really Really GREAT!!! I never seen any other Terminal ever helped anyone but Dallas Texas Does for Customers!!!!! I really Really Really Appreciatedfrom Me & My Fiance!!!!!! Thank you For Everything!!!!!👍👍👍
Wish i could give 0 stars. I used greyhound for the first time back on january 3rd. I had forgotten to pack an item in my bag and had to head back home (about 30 mins one way). before leaving the station i asked the desk agent if there was another fair i could reschedule. She said the only one i could get was for a bus leaving 12 hours later. She also that it would be $20 to book it, CASH ONLY (hmmm). I found a fare online for the trip i had wanted that was only 2 hours after my original fare(which apparently the desk agent couldnt find?). The phone number listed for their customer service/relations is a joke, seriously dont bother. It sounds like the call center is based in another country and every time you call theyll either give you the runaround, hang up on you, or route your call to a desk agent at this station who will never answer anyway. Ive reached out to greyhound directly who (shockingly) have not replied. I will also be contacting consumer affairs to file a formal complaint as well as my cc company to get my funds back for the unused original fair. i suggest others whove been ripped off do the same. If they get enough complaints regulatory bodies start to get involved.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. I cannot express how awful this place is. Very disgusting and terrible service. I was in the ticket line and when I got to the desk the worker was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. I would NEVER EVER recommend this to anyone. It is so unsafe there. I took an Uber instead of the bus because of how awful it was. Please do not come here.
Not enough sitting room and loud mouthed bus drivers, not to mention not on schedule. The workers at the desk were rude and very unprofessional, yawning in your face, rolling their eyes, & saying their ready to go home. The ratchet broad with the dry, nappy blonde weave acted as if she didnt want to be at work, and then threatened to send me to the back of the line. No more greyhound for me. Itll have to be the Amtrak or a flight with 1 stop.
Greyhound has really gone down over the years and since February this has been the worst experience ever. My Grandmother lost her checked bag. We have been calling the greyhound baggage claim, we have filed a claim, and waited longer than the 90 days and no one has tried to contact her for a resolution. I called last week and was told to wait another 5-7 business day to call back and I went to call today finally get a resolution and now the baggage claim number has been suspended. The website offers no help in dealing with this issue either.
Zero to be exact. Service is not their forte and they know it. At one point someone made an announcement and when we asked for clarification he snapped and said, didnt you hear me? Nope. The message was not clear the first time. What was supposed to be a 12 hour trip, including a layover in San Antonio, turned into a 19 hour trip from way down south. People deserve better.
I have gone through this station six times on my way in and out of Texas. Last time I went it was crowded as usual but it was a good experience for me personally. In and outbound bus displays on all the walls are nice and make finding your ride easy. Staff is wonderful. DPD are always just outside the door in force. The McDonalds down the street was decent when I went during the night around 2016 - havent been since but it seemed like a dangerous area and especially so the latter it gets. Have never gone through there at night and not seen an ambulance, fire/rescue and DPD on a scene right outside the frount door so just watch yourself and it will be a good experience.
One of the worst bus stations Ive ever come through. The entire building smells of stale urine. The staff are incredibly rude. The doors and area in front of the door were crowded by delinquent looking individuals smoking weed. The security was worthless and I had multiple issues of older men sitting next to and trying to touch my 4 year old daughter while waiting for a bus.
Where to start? First if youre an English speaker youre gonna be lost here. The announcements are in Spanglish so rapid fire that leaves everyone puzzled, at a REALLY loud volume. This IS an English speaking country guys, at least ensure theres a double announcement that includes a native speaker of English, please. They line you up hours before your bus arrives and they really show no concern if youre exposed to exhaust fumes. I cant stress enough the prison like feel to the place. Police love to stand and talk about the passengers there, pointing and laughing. They really have a special relationship with the police there. We were pulled over soon after we entered Dallas by a sheriff who TRAMPLED our Fourth Amendment rights. He, in collusion with the driver, had all of us open our bags and several were publicly humiliated by this swaggering asshat. Good to know Greyhound supports the dying Drug War. If you have ANY option avoid this place.
This is the most unorganized chaotic mess I have ever dealt with. They had 2 ticket agents working and approximately 45-50 people in line. I stood in line for about an hour trying to purchase tickets only to be told that it would be better if I purchased them online because the price was going to be $120 more if I bought them there. Add to that the fact that the online ticket kiosk wasnt working. 100% disappointed. Greyhound you need to be better managed and properly staffed
Didnt wanna give any stars but this the onky way i could write a review. For this to be a billion dollar company. They dont act like it, they dont let you know there is a delay until an hr after you are supposed to leave and then an hour turns into 6 hours and they dont give any explanation. If you cant get buses and drivers in on time maybe you should sell the company or close it down.
If you can possibly avoid taking this bus company do yourself the biggest favor and take the other option. This is the worst bus station i have ever been in. The employees are the rudest things ever. My very first expierience i had a 6hr delay. The woman had to change my ticket. And i just so happen to notice that she was sending me to the wrong place. And she had the hugest attitude with me about how she had to change my ticket again. And now these two young african american woman are behind the counter being rude to everyone!!!! Thier both helping the same woman talking to her like shes senile. crazy ridiculous. How nobody knows what thier doing here inside And the bus drivers are miserable!
I arrived about 20 minutes prior to boarding and a lady staff was friendly and helpful. However, I didnt like the fact that they did not seperate people whove puchased priority boarding pass with those who didnt. I spent approximately 15 dollars more to get my priority boarding pass and would like them to honor it. Ive only used greyhound twice but noticed that the buses get full and cant board every pessengers who purchased a ticket and that is why I spent extra cash to get priority boarding pass. I would have been etremely upset if I missed my ride because they dont care about priority boarding pass.
My experience with Greyhound Dallas was fantastic! Considering the high volume of riders in the station yesterday at 12:30 PM, the customer service demonstrated by the Dallas staff was impeccable. Specifically, Rod went above and beyond expectations to make sure I did not miss my bus. Thanks Rod and all the staff at the Dallas station. You guys rock!
If your ever shipping something through greyhound and you don’t receive it or pick it up or gets lost it returns to the Dallas bus station being it’s the main hub warehouse. After that greyhound then sales your items that haven’t been picked up for $20 a item to a local car salvage company that resales the items on Craigslist ,eBay and face book . The name of the company is salvage performance parts . They do this about once a month. Biggest scam I’ve ever seen or heard of . Sorry for all the people that lost their items to these company’s.
The worst customer service i have ever experienced. Its ridiculous how much negative energy excudes from that place and the employees..The workers create a very toxic enviornment and they make it stressful for everyone there. I understand its a lot dealing with the customers but dont take it out on everyone you encounter! Their attitudes are disgusting and theyre mean for no reason. No one should be treated like that! If you hate your job, then quit! Customer service comes before anything! Dallas Greyhound has to do better!!
Staff is not at all customer courtesy. We were arrived in last 10 mins of bus departure time, and there were no crowd at all in afternoon. Even driver is there at the counter. But they did not let us in , showing a rule of no boarding in last 10 mins of departure. We drove 30 mins and was struck in traffic to reach that place. We explained all these but still they did not let us in. Very sad to see this, they should understand rules are not to meant to heart customers but for their convenience. Worst experience in my life.
Travelling from Albany ny to mesa arizona, had the worse experience with greyhound ever, customer service sucked,no HELP,about this stop, yes food is pricey,it is pricey at all if the stops, but it is clean, and a comfy place compared to where I have been. I have to say over 2 days of a stressful situation, I walked in and dealt with a lady named Pam.She went beyond to help you get us to Mesa on time, all the people Ive had to encounter ,Miss Pam by far deserves employee of the year,Thank You from the bottom of my heart....
Absolutely horible staff, drugs being smoked on the siewalk in front of children all the time I was not let on the bus because I got they said I smelled like alcohol and another gentleman the same. On my way out the next day after having to buy another ticket the Manger was completely rude to me and was completely hostile .
The staff was rude, the buses were late, and they acted like it did not matter if you were comfortable or not.The last bus I rode back to M! ,the driver kept getting lost.Litterally,Passengers were giving him directions off of Google Maps, were late to every destination because of his tardiness.
Took a bus from Dallas to Waco- gotta say the bus was on time and we got to Waco without any problems so I would give the bus ride at least 3 stars, but the station itself is definitely one of those distorted reality places where everything is awful and it feels like youre dead. Every single employee talked to us like we were sh*t on the bottom of their shoe and they get an attitude when you ask any question at all (big warning to first time bus riders). I watched a lady politely ask to see a manager over an issue, and another employee yelled at her across the room She gonna tell you the same thing, you cant do that. Homeless people panhandle inside the station until theyre screamed at by greyhound staff like theyre a pack of wild dogs instead of human beings. Bathrooms are disgusting. Just really cant drive home harder how bad the staff is. I was traveling during the government shutdown, and just got done dealing with tired/overworked/unpaid TSA agents who were eons better than these people. Youd think they were the ones working for free! Be grateful youre getting paid!!!
Seems like a money racket. You watch travel manager make lines and announce things no one can understand then she looks at you stupid if you ask a question or directs people to the wrong lines. When travelers miss the bus they get to go back to the ticket line & give $20 more travel money. Paying customers get ran out after travel is through ,& the homeless get to stay. Than is so no one notices the 20-30 people that have been misdirected & been 3x or better to the ticket sales counter @ $20 each occurrence. This staff must be splitting the money collected.
Ok I have been on several greyhound buses and I must that this last trip was an absolute horrible experience. starting from the moment I walked on the bus. you are herded like cattle to the bus where you watch baggage handlers mindlessly and disrespectfully load you luggage under the bus (thank goodness I didnt have nothing but a carry-on). then some people of Hispanic descent started arguing and pushing, which the driver didnt really care about, causing tension already. the drivers are rude and the greyhound station in Odessa, Texas is filled with people who have no hearts. I arrived in Odessa Christmas eve which I happen to witness a man chase down a bus, bang on the door, as the driver continued to drive away. making eye contact with him but nothing. The man damn near lost his life and fat driver wouldnt even stop. also a woman with a child was denied a ticket because she was two minutes late buying a ticket. On Christmas eve. ....really. I have never in my life seen such rude, immature, unprofessional behavior. All of the drivers are rude and cranky. I felt more of a prisoner than a patron on a quick Christmas vacation. Bottom line is if you cant fly to your destination then drive and if that is still to much save the money and fly. Honestly this is the last time I will ever use there services.
I shouldnt even put 1 star because they dont deserve it, terrible service and the security is terrible , first of all there, crazy people start screaming, rude people, they want to fight and worst of all is that they have very bad service on the buses because they are late 5 hours a bus, this was my second time traveling here and the two times have been exactly the same horrible, do not go !!!
My mother is moving from Texas to me in Florida. I booked her tickets and I had them tell me that she had a free carry on bag and 2 free bags under the bus. When she got there they said she had to pay $30 in cash. They wouldnt let me pay over the phone. But thankfully the driver got her and her belongings on the bus. We will never travel this way again.
I will NEVER user Greyhound again. I had the absolute worst experience on my very first trip ever at the Dallas, Tx terminal & the Dallas Westmoreland terminal. At the Westmoreland terminal my bus was an hour and a half late and the representative had no idea when my bus was going to be there. She just kept telling me another 20-45 minutes and it will be here. When the bus finally arrived and we got to the main Dallas terminal I was advised that there had been a delay of a minimum of an hour and a half. My bus was to leave at 7:30 pm. At 10 pm an employee came over the intercom & stated I do not know when your bus will be here. It will get here when it gets here & to stop asking her questions every two minutes. My bus finally arrived in Dallas at midnight which i was supposed to be arriving at Shreveport. All I want is my money back and no matter who I talk to they are refusing to refund my tickets. I should not have to pay to be talked to as if I am a child.
Well- Alot of the Other Reviews are accurate- Theres No Parking, Unless You go to the back(West) Side of the Station- And Thats Very limited( Maybe 10 spaces)! There is Pay parking lots all around It though. The food is Very Overpriced,& Some of it is Not Bad. If You try to call, the wait time is kind of Ridiculous! So I would use the website for Trip Info. And The Bathrooms are bad sometimes, but Ive seen them Veru Clean too. Its in mid-west Downtown Dallas- And It is what it Is.
It was my first time riding greyhound and I didn’t understand how all of it worked and when I asked the employees about anything they always came back with a RUDE remark no matter how nice I were to them. The drivers asked us not to talk to them it was horrible I rode the Dallas to Texarkana Sunday 03/04/2019 and my bus was suppose to leave at 1pm but didn’t leave till almost 2:30pm my driver she was really rude....never riding the bus again
Lots of homeless people and straightup scammers... but the security helps a lot.Even with its higher-than-average prices... it is cheap by comparison to the downtown area around it.The staff seemed dejected but were very helpful.I used this place to buy snacks and a quick meal while going to Dreamhack.Once again, shoutout to the security staff. Theyre really cool people.
Beware beware. Keep your belongings close dont ever leave a phone out or anything of value. Dont show money when purchasing food drinks. There use to be police presence at least outside. Not anymore. I saw 1 drive by ..the smoking cage now opens to the outside world where rouges float in and hmmm...all looking for free..security is halarious. I saw more employees asking if people well, had to show a ticket to be allowed inside or on any property. Why in the hell cant this place be safer? I had a bipolar junkie following me around for an hour before I had to be blunt and rude ..not my heart to do so..its disturbed place to spend 4 hours waiting on a bus and the same people with no bus business (tickets) even asked to leave several times by employees back again and again for Christs sake Greyhound have them hauled off for trespassing after once. Thatll help keep it safe. When the threat of jail is on the table word travels fast. Oh and only go to McDonalds if you are bold enough to withstand being threatened for food. Ive bought numerous meals for people only to be confronted afterward for money and I saw no weapon so I said kill me and walked off...not that scared. The bark much louder than any bites. Still an unsafe environment..Im primarily posting for anyone who would put their teens on a bus that goes anywhere through Dallas ..this place is just a haven of hell..they need to move Greyhound to a centralized teansmodel center ...Look at Ft Worth.
This is worst bus station ever. I regret traveling on greyhound. I traveled from Dallas Texas to houston Texas yesterday and I never received my suitcase. No has an answer to why my suitcase got missing. They gave a customer care number where the operate keeps transfering to another number. I regret traveling on greyhound.
By far one of the worse traveling company.. Id rather drive or use Megabus. Lost my mans luggage and lied to us saying theyve found it at the Dallas Texas warehouse and they were sending them out and its been 3 weeks now. Ive called to check the status and theyre telling me they didnt find my mans bags...Im sick of these people..
I honestly will do anything I can to avoid riding greyhound ever again. This experience has been more stressful than it ever should have been, and their customer service at Dallas, El Paso, and by phone was absolutely lacking. Currently my bus is 2.5 hours late, and I asked an employee if we had a status and she said “I just got here so I don’t know about anything before that.” What kind of answer is that in a customer service job? If I had the option for my destination, I would have already left and gone with another company for this trip.
I will never take this bus again. I shouldve taken the Mega Bus!!! Currently Im sitting in the Dallas Bus station. My bus was scheduled to leave at 11:40 P.M. They had us line up at 11:00P.M. Then came on the speaker and told us our bus was delayed and it wouldnt arrive until 1:15A.M.Still no bus then they said they said they couldnt find a bus for us. So it would be another delay 3:30A.M. Still no bus..It is now 5:05 A.M and we are still in Dallas. They are saying the we will be leaving at 6:30 A.M. The customer service ppl are rude and dont know how to talk to ppl. I asked one guy was he sure that we would be leaving at 6:30 he said I think I just said that but we have been being told so many different times I have 4 children traveling with me and this is very messed up that I paid almost 900$ for 6 tickets Detroit now My family is sleeping on the floor in Dallas. BECAUSE this company book my tickets with no driver for this route. I will never use this company again. Worst Trip Ever!!!!
DO NOT RIDE WITH GREYHOUND! My bus never showed up and nor did other people’s . Now I’ve gotta miss work, and I overheard somebody even missed a flight.VERY UNSATISFIED!!!UNRELIABLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE, UNSANITARY SPACES, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, INSUFFICIENT SECURITY....Oh also, it’s super hard to get a refund and their ticket exchange fee is RIDICULOUS!!!I’m riding Megabus.
Giving it 3 stars only because my bus left right on time and I didn’t have to wait in a big line but the customer service is the worst. There were 2 decent guys that were actually helping people out with questions but everybody else had an awful attitude. If you don’t like working at a certain place where you have to deal with people then don’t work there. Period.
Tried to buy a ticket for a friend. As soon as i hit submit, the confirmation screen came up with all wrong options that i did not select. To add insult, there was no option to add my friends name, therefore they would not be able to board despite having a pre paid ticket. So i immediately call to fix the error, and i find out despite the site messing up the order and despite there being no way to put my friends name on the ticket before or after purchase, i was immediately screwed out of my money. All i wanted was to get the time i selected and my friends name put on. My only option was to somehow get my friend to purchase the ticket with my credit card and my ID to board. 5 states away. This is piss poor service at its worst. Will never use again.
In one word. Terrible. We where told to get in line to board and stood there for an HOUR while other buses boarded. When they finnaly had us go out we waited another 20 minutes outside in between other buses before we got on. This pushed our trip back 30 minutes but ultimately our arrival time got pushed back by nearly an hour! I am never coming back to this terminal if I can help it. I would rather just take the train or pay extra for the flight because so much other stuff went on as well that was unprofessional the whole trip.
Was the worst experience ever!! I did not feel comfortable at all, reminded me of crack town so why prostitutes and booming systems probably the crack dealers escape plan girl riding factory or rims?! I did hear the booming system and it was ghetto and a mess!! Almost had an anxiety attack and breakdown, it was that bad, do not go here when your not ok to be around crack areas associated to ghettos because my assessment is will not be safe. Keep thinking was going to get shot in the head, jumped, stabbed, be in a ditch, raped, attacked in the bathroom, kidnapped and held in a hotel or something, car stolen, punched in the head and have black eyes.......really need to relocate the bus station, so forreal!!!!!! Epic fail Greyhound. Definately not at ease, devils stop?!There was a place to eat and a store. Bathrooms were a disaster, plumbing backed up or was it the toilets not flushing properly bc were full?!!! Very unattended, not good.
So Im not even halfway through my trip from Los Angeles to Charlotte, NC and I can honestly say that this has been a nightmare. To start things off, I had to wait and additional 2 hours from my original departure time because doors 5 and 6 were apparently going to the same bus. So as I approached the door, literally the next person to walk out, Im told that the bus is full, that I would have to wait 30 mins, which actually ended up being 2 hours... Now its after 2 am and Im finally on the bus and settled... I fall asleep just to wake up and see the man beside me reaching for my purse. So now I realizing this whole greyhound thing may have been a bad idea... So I go back to sleep (more guarded this time) and guess what wakes me up the next time? The man beside me PULLS OUT A GLASS CRACK PIPE AND TOOK TWO HITS. Now at this point im in complete panic. Ive never done drugs, or even been around drugs. I only know what a crack pipe looks like because of drug safety class from high school lol. So I have no idea how to approach the situation. I figured confronting him would probably be a good way to die, so I wait until the next stop to alert the driver. (Mind you, its an hour between the stop and the time the guy smoked crack) So I tell the driver what happened and he says that if he couldnt smell anything, its nothing he can do. I couldnt even switch seats because the bus is slammed packed... So I had to breathe in crack vapors on the first bus. Now the ride from Phoenix to Dallas was pretty smooth (disregarding the fact that we were stopping in places listed other than in the itinerary), even though the bus is extremely late now due to other reasons (lady had a seizure and we had to wait for the ambulance and for the paramedics to deem her safe to continue riding and a border patrol check point) NOW IM AT DALLAS. Now this is testing my patience. Since the bus is very late, me and a the folks who were traveling to the east coast missed the next bus going towards atl, memphis, and new Orleans. One lady got lucky and only had to wait like an hour for another bus, but me and the other dude? WE HAVE TO WAIT 12 HOURS for the 11:50 bus thats probably going to be late. 12 HOURS. 12. HOURS.. I will give an update on how the rest of this Trail of Tears journey goes... and remember folks, JUST TAKE A FREAKING PLANE.
Awful service! Never answer the phone and they are very rude. They left my husband behind and some others in Vernon, Texas after they walked into the gas station. Didnt even give them ten minutes like the driver said she would. Their customer service is a joke. $120.00 dollars down the drain and it took him 3 days to get him home. The bus is never on time! They dont care that you paid a lot of money to use their services. DONT USE GREYHOUND!!!!!!!
Do yourself a favor, book with Megabus instead, $15 gets you most places. Security guards stink BAD, tables and floors in bus station are super filthy, and buses have been running about 3hrs late, customer service is a joke, I could go on and on, courtesy of the lovely Greyhound company...
The Dallas terminal is aged. The bathrooms are vile. God only knows when the dinning tables have been cleaned, so sticky with unknown goo. Always jammed with nowhere to sit. Greyhound bus only guarantee is to be late. Expect to be at least a two hour delay from any point. The Dallas food court is nasty and over priced. Most of the employees including security treats people like cattle and devoid of smiles. I know they are stressed, but they are not the ones traveling and receiving crappy service dealing vile bathrooms nasty food long standing for eternal delayed buses then sitting in the most cramped uncomfortable seats. But if youre poor this is it, Greyhound knows it and they dont care or it would be fixed by now.
While we understand the closure in Dallas, this was grossly mishandled. My Father in law took a cab from the Airport to the Greyhound station which was closed. There was no notice of this. When my wife called, we got a suck it response when she asked how he was supposed to get from the closed station to the open one. This is bad enough for most, but for a disabled veteran who has mobility issues, it is doubly so.
On my route, I had to stop at Vegas, Phoenix, El Paso, Dallas, and then a stop at Conroe. Every station leading up to Dallas was an absolute nightmare. I watched people get screamed at, talked down to, and even outright ignored by the staff at each one. In El Paso, I lost my final boarding ticket. El Paso was a maintenance stop, so I had my reboarding ticket, but not the one to get from Dallas to Houston. I waited out the line at the front desk and was told to ask the bus driver if he found it when he was cleaning up, otherwise Id be paying 20 dollars for a reissue. When I asked the driver (who had already been in at least two altercation with other passengers), he told me if it was on there, he threw it away and I need to go pay for a reissue. I looked at the line and asked him if there was someone else that might have cleaned the bus and if I could speak with them, and the guy put his hand in my face and turned his back to me. So I figured i would take my chances in Dallas. Im glad I did, because as soon as I walked in I was greeted like an actual human being. I gave them my confirmation number and a new ticket was printed within seconds, no fuss. I had to speak with both ladies at the front desk in Dallas and each one of them was polite and helpful. I couldnt believe it. Greyhound also lost one of my bags on the way to Dallas. They called around and have me some numbers to call and even let me check the luggage bay for my bag. This station treated me like an actual customer that greyhound wanted to keep around, rather than a dog that had no choice but to use them to travel. Also worth noting, they were at least twice as busy as any of the other stations we stopped at. They have my respect. Greyhound, you should have your other stations take notes from Dallas.
The buses are alright however this location in particular is terrible. The workers are rude. Food is overpriced. I WAITED 5 HOURS FOR MY DAMN BUS. Too many beggars around the area, its so annoying. The buses are fine for their price but I absolutely do not like this location because it is on a bad side of town. It is also pretty disgusting.
The station in Dallas is like a big turd. Fort Worth station is way more nice. Soon as I parked my car I had someone asking for money. I went inside to the restroom someone asking for money. The parking pay was broke so could not get a ticket for parking lot. Had to run back and forth to make sure no one tried to toll away my car. My wifes bus broke down in San Antonio so she has been stuck for many hours in San Antonio. The trip was already a 15 hour trip from Matamoros to Dallas. Now they say dont have a driver but a working bus. WHAT THE??? What happened to all the new busses their website site bragged about. My wife said the bus was ugly. Not what they advertised.
Had an amazing timr. By far the best one we been to. Employees say us red and nervous and asked to buy us drinks and a place to sit. One lady even bumped us to priority because of my fiances medical condition and prayed with us. Amazing place and would love to come back again!!
We paid for a bus ticket that was supposed to depart at 1:05 and it never showed up, they told us they didn’t know when the bus was going to get there when we asked 2 hours after 1:05!!! This company is a SCAM!!!!!! Don’t use them! They will just take your money and claim that your ticket is from the economy class so that’s why you can’t get your money back. Let alone that the place is not very safe, people would come offering drugs... This place is pure trash.
Food Service is extremely SLOW, I mean almost none existence! Stood there waiting waiting & waiting. While orders were being taken they had. LEAD SHOES ON. In 20 mins I stood there they took maybe two orders, mind you they were frozen entrees throw them on a conveyer belt. Dont they know these passengers are on time schedule & if they were looking to eat in peace instead of RUSHING all the time. Not with this kind of POOR SERVICE. POOR, POOR SERVICE WHICH I SEE ISNT just ticket agent and everything else with this COMPANY. LOL STELLAR SERVICE RIGHT?All I wanted was a COLD DRINK which I never got because it was painful to watch the lack of service of the 3 other people in front of me.
Ticket counter associates dont even look at the online ticket properly. I had a priority boarding and additional bags free, but when i asked about the priority boarding and checking bags, the next moment the words were how much those services are. I was persitent on my priority boarding and at the end was directed to another bus!!!Poor maintenance, disgusting restrooms, no proper management.NEVER TRAVELLING in GREY HOUND again!!!
Bought flexible ticket which cost more than the economy ticket since it is supposed to be REDUNDABLE because I was in a tight situation the day I needed to travel which is on a Friday.Ended up not using the FLEXIBLE ticket. I got busy the whole weekend, now its monday.I called to initiate a return but declined because it has been a day after. On the website, nothing shows about that policy which is very misleading. I gave greyhound free $93.Cant even give me partial refund for their misleading information. Such a bad company practices
This is not for any specific location. Just greyhound customer service and their refund system. My bus from Atmore, Al to Houston, Tx was cancelled on the 5th and I was not informed. I waited at the pick up location for almost 3 hours while being on hold for half of that time. I paid $150 for this ticket. My refund was eventually processed on the 7th after having to call again after the ticket end day. But its now the day before Thanksgiving and i still dont have my refund. These are the holidays and I could use all my money. 7 -14 business days is blasphemy. Its day 12 and thanksgiving is tomorrow. I shouldnt have to wait on my money for an error the company made. Although the actually bus rides are fine...the process of getting your money back is impossible and I hope this is corrected soon because money doesnt grow on trees and I need mine.
This station is certainly near the bottom. Restrooms are uninviting. Boarding numbers do not matter, so get here early for a spot in line. There is no security check in, so anybody whos anyone can just walk into the station. There exist few resources for those who are having travel trouble to a destination. For being a major hub for multiple destinations, you would think that this facility would be top class.
The worst customer service bought a ticket from Dallas to Houston got to the terminal and the person on the phone who had help me make the reservation made it from Houston to Dallas. They would not reimburse or help get a new ticket for the trip so we lost our money and had to find a new way to Houston. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Will never use Grayhound ever again.
Worst company ever.. How can they overbook a bus. This is my first time and last time as well travelling through greyhound. I booked my ticket 3 weeks ago.. They made late in sugar land and because of that I got late at Dallas , by the time I reach Dallas they said bus is full, no more seats. Because of this my connecting bus got missed. They gave me an option for next day which means I need to stay in Memphis 24hrs to catch next bus.. such a cheap trick greyhound is playing, they make bus overload and if we go ask them they reschedule to the next (they only dont know at what time buses are) bus.
I Have To Say This Place Is So Damn Nasty !!! Not Only That But I Personally Witness A Gentleman Sweeping Up An Area So He may Sit Down Against The Wall To Charge His Phone And Annie Just Had The Nerves To Come Around The Corner And Yell At The Gentleman For Sitting NEXT To A Pile Of Dirt That She Had Left From Sweeping Before, Instead Of Calmly Explaining To Him To Be Careful Where You Sit Sir, She Rather Throw An Attitude...... He Was Helping Her Out Cause Her Body Language Was Not Having It This Morning. So Please Talk To Annie About Having A Better Attitude Towards Others.
This is Not Acceptable. Delay after Delay. This company knows when they dont have a driver. But instead of informing us with the truth, they are changing the ticket for the next schedule when theres no driver for that route either. Greyhound makes too much $$$$ for their riders to suffer. UNACCEPTABLE
Its a greyhound station so you get what you expect. Bums sleeping outside as if they waiting for someone to pick them up. Hustlers inside pretending not to have enough money and asking for you to buy them something. But you cant shun people for being people. The Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Some bossy and loud but its needed when you boarding time comes. There is a food stand inside for late trips.
The bus itself was really good, but the station is dirty and disorganized. Half the people were wandering around trying to figure out what line to stand in for their bus because everything was running an hour late, and the station was dirty and he food, overpriced. But they got the job done that I paid for, they got me to my destination comfortably.
This is crap. My bus left 2 hours late from Mississippi going to Dallas Tx , they have to reschedule my ticket and now i have to wait 6 hours to leave and set me back 14 hours total. I was supposed to be in long beach at 6am and now i wont be there till 8 pm. I have a job interview at 3pm on monday and they are not doing anything. All she can do is give me a food voucher. The 1-800 number dont start till 5am. This is bullshit.
Never use greyhound they are a horrible company. It took me 8 hours to travel 150 miles. The bus was 2 hours late. They stuff you into some of the most uncomfortable seats Ive ever sat in. Please heed this warning and never use greyhound they deserve to go out of business.
Bus driver showed up two hours late in Denver Colorado the route to Dallas bus left a little after10am Thursday June 9th 2017 instead of 8.15am as scheduled. he left without me In haste of recovering his own mess at Colorado springs station at 11.30 and I had to wait for next bus leaving at 9.30 pm. That bus had some technicality and was late too showing up at almost 12.00am June 10th, we arrived late in Dallas and naturally I missed the connection to Houston and from 4.00pm till now (8.47pm) Im waiting at the station for the bus to Houston to arrive at 10.35 pm and if nothing else happens I will be in Houston on at 2.45am June 11th instead of 11.00am June 10th as I had paid for.now if this isnt a monkey junkie business what is??? You tell me please.
Yet another nightmare experience the whole trip. Now Ive missed my connection and am stuck in Dallas another day. If Im lucky theyll get me into a hotel by 8pm only to be back here at 5am. Greyhound cant ever seem to get it right. Its sad when you come to expect this kind if epic failure from a nation wide bus line. And the attendants in Dallas compound the already degrading situation by appearing to enjoy being snide amd rude to weary, hungry and exhausted passengers. The word that kerps coming to mind is INHUMANE. Even the food sucked.
I travel through the downtown Dallas Greyhound station every few months on my way to West Texas. The station was renovated a few months ago and looks much better than it did before. Most of their fleet has been updated to newer busses with lavatories, WiFi, and standard American electric plugs. The new seats are actually pretty comfortable and since most busses start their journey here in Dallas they are decently clean. The desk staff are usually very friendly, but not always the most knowledgeable. I always book online or the app and print my ticket at home, but the station has three self help kiosks. There is a travel center inside with basic tourist stuff like post cards and travelers needs such a tolietries. The station has its own small grill and a pizza joint along with cash only vending machines. McDonalds is only a block away outside the main entrance and is open 24/7.The Dallas DART light rail is two blocks north along with the west bus transfer station. Take the blue or red light rail towards Westmoreland station for two stops and exit at Union Station for Amtrak. The station itself is small and usually very crowded. It can become very disorganized during busy times which can cause problems if the gate monitors arent correct. The busses and the station are much better than the competing Megabus service which picks up from a changing street corner without structure. Their seats are also very uncomfortable.Ive taken busses around the world from America, to S.E. Asia, UK, Western Europe, Egypt, and even once into Somalia. Overall this greyhound station and service is a bit better than the average bus service in the industrialized world.
The food was good but the staff and security guards were rude and showed anything BUT customer courtesy. I cant tell you how many different workers I asked for help in finding my driver but out of maybe 7 different workers only 1 took the time to help me contact my driver. Thank you to DEMETRIUS (Im sure Im spelling it wrong) for your help.
Trying to get my boyfriend home to Colorado, and the bus that picked him up from Midland Tx to get him to this Dallas station was an HOUR late so that means he won’t get a bus from Dallas to Amarillo until 9 in the morning. Keep in mind it’s 1 am now so he has to sit there for HOURS, and then when his next bus comes he will travel to Amarillo and then that layover will be another 7 hours. This company is horse sh**. This isn’t even a company, this is trash. And I can hear so many babie while I’m on the phone with him CRYING, and upset. Probably CAUSE EVERYONE GOT SCREWED OVER due to laziness and tardiness when people payed money to get from point a to point b at a specific paid time. pathetic!!!!!!!!!! Never doing this again!!!
Well first off. I didnt like anything about ...it!I waited in line for my ticket to Houston and when I was next the lady, she got a phone call and told me to wait! I told her my bus was gonna leave but she continued talking on the phone like she rather help the man on the phone. I again tried to tell her but she told me to wait and ignored me the whole time ..... I was so mad but I didnt want to yell at her! Then when I got my ticket, I walked up to some lady who worked there but she said Ill be with you in a sec... Walked to help someone else on the other side of the room... Which was some man not event needing her help? ( my question was only going to take 2 seconds to answer )I had to follow her and ask her again & she then said Well what time does your ticket say? Walked away.... (Rude!) After that I went up to a man but this man Refused to help me and gave me a rude attitude that he was only the bus driver.... So I ran to someone else who worked there and the worker gave me attitude & said man idk? Go ask the manager....(pointing at the manager), thats her job! Then While I was walking up to her I saw her tell someone .... Dont tell me how to do my job!:0 I asked her again and she told me the same thing, Except she told me she would go check if my bus had left...... But she never came back! She forgot about me .. I went up to her AGAIN and she seriously had the attitude of not wanting to help me? She told me too bad the bus is gone... Buy another ticket & ran off! ........!!.!.!.!.!.!.!THEN I went to the ticket booth which I was in line for 25 min tops (only the same woman working on computer and the other computer had a lady talking on the her cell phone.... I finally got to her & reminded her of why I was late, she told me she wasnt responsible for my missed bus.... She argued with me that I wasnt early enough? So now I have to buy another ticket! I felt sooo helpless! :/ I hope someone can fix these peoples customer service skills because Im all torn up. For someone like me who Really doesnt get sad/mad too quickly .... i was torn! GreyHound Station in Dallas is such a night mare, i can only imagine the bus ride :/So I bought another ticket and I went to The GreyHound Station @Dallas ..... I missed my bus .... Again! So I went online and purchased my self a ticket At Megabus.... Which only took seconds! Went there and all I needed to show them was my reservation number, then Bam thats all, now Im in the mega bus. With Wifi, nice air conditioning (bring a blanket), and sitting next to a new friend ☺️ all thanks to listening to my friends who referred me here :) only 7$ more, theres enough space ( well were both kinda thin :P) and if youre interested in listening to live Southern dramas then youll love it ☺️
I agree with the comment that said, keep you head in a book bring a cross word puzzle or something to distract u from all the non sense. Bathrooms n station & on the bus are a no no needs bleach, pinsol, fabalouso every second. Security is very helpful, staff is somewhat OK. African American women bus drivers stop being so ratchet please!! Its not cute honey, you dont run the dam Universe your just a bus driver lmfao!!.
I have worse experience ever in my life when I travelled with Greyhound bus. My ticket is to book complete route from Fortworth to Houston. My trip is to departure at 1:20pm, but the bus come late at 1:45pm, then bus come to Dallas at 2:45 in stead of 2:00pm as scheduled. We took 4minutes to take out luggages to change bus to Houston. When we got in side the station and asked the supervisor where and when the bus Houston is coming, she did not know and ignored us, at that time we saw the one white bus was parking at departure gate and we asked her is that the bus we will go. She said she did not know. Two minutes later, this white bus is gone, we come to ask her again where is the bus to go to Houston, she said the white bus we just saw is to go to Houston. Oh my god, we can not say anything. We asked how can i get Houston ontime to get my international flight, she bring me to her boss - a black lady to find the solution to Houston. This lady explained that the reason we missed the Houston bus because the Dallas bus came late, and shouted at me that this is not their fault. They left us to resolve problem by ourself. This is most nightmare service i have been with. You’d better to pay a litte more to travel with other bus but not Greyhound.

2022-05-10I was delayed here for over 12 hours due to a connecting bus driver not showing up. The staff did not want to answer any questions. I will say the two ladies working the graveyard shift were polite and did answer to the best of there knowledge but when those two left nothing but poor customer service. Of course you got upset guest when they have been delayed for over 12 hrs and have been told not sure whats going to be done then to find out there is a bus at the station going to delayed destination but no info on what the plan was if any given to the delayed guest. We all bought our tickets you need to be fair and explain whats going on to people rather than tell them sit down and wait because you have no updates for them . Come on now you would be upset if that was you .

2022-03-08Not much help with luggage in station, so bring less luggage if possible, I sprang my wrists trying to carry all my stuff. Thank God for Greyhound transportation, I dont know whats Id do without them.Great station employees and bus drivers. The last bus driver was one of the many #1 drivers, good service extra caring driver. He wore a cowboy hat cool! I think he played in a movie or watched to many movies.God Bless Dallas, Texas.

2022-01-30I do not usually like to complain for no reason, and I tried to place myself in ones shoes. Yesterday was the exception. The lady who was selling the bus tickets on Saturday morning, January 29th, was not polite. Every time someone had a question regarding the departures, she ignored them or even yelled at them. She has to have professionalism at work. I want to recognize that I liked my trip there because the busses were efficient and the drivers were very polite. I like the fact that wearing face masks is mandatory on the bus.

2022-07-05Customer service is the worst. Only call out things in Spanish. Sorry we dont know spanish. My adult son kept asking where to go. They would only tell him look at your ticket. It had no bus number on it. He tried showing them they wouldnt help. By the time he found his bus they were almost loaded he had paid extra to load early. He was an hour early. Horrible way they treated him. Just because he cant speak Spanish. Serves his country but cant get help.

2022-04-28Everything was going fine until I got to this station the supervisor thinks she is entitled to yelling at people and using bad words and on top of that not only threatening you but actually deny you service and leave you stranded In Dallas, if you are not from the city than it can be tough. No remorse and no manners towards people.

2022-06-14The only suggested improvement if anyone at greyhound sees these is I wish you had a text update service. The people at the station knew about an hr in advance when a driver would be there and couldve text me updates for the delay. I couldve stayed at my hotel instead of being here. Its just fine if you know what to expect. Ill put the suggestions below for you. Our bus was supposed to leave at 720a and get there at 2pm but ended up leaving around 2 and getting there 8pm. The reviews I read said the busses are often late, I didnt have to be home until the next day so it worked out fine.I suggest also a blanket, they sell some cheap ones in the giftshop.I kept my belongings close to me the whole time even during our break and I didnt run into any problems.Have a backup plan possibly, Expect there to be a posible delay, apparently this is across the board not just this station. I planned to fly out at 5pm if the bus wasnt there yet, but I understand not everyone can make a plan like that, I also checked amtrak but it didnt work for my schedule that day.Overall if you ask me if Id do it again my answer would be yes. It was significantly cheaper than everything except the train which was going to arrive much later at my destination.

2022-05-26Me and my 7 year old daughter rode a bus with no ac , and greyhound refuses to refund the tickets , they are only offering a 40.00 voucher lmao. Do not ride greyhound find any other alternative to avoid riding their busses. Employees are rude, security guard cussing out people as loud as possible, just complete chaos some these places. I could list at least 10 complaints. Adults on that bus could barely breathe, sweating profoundly, taking clothes off, and I could barely breathe, imagine my 7 year old, we ended up forcing the driver to pull over and go to a gas station for air and drinks. The driver opened the top roof emergency exits to let air flow for the rest of the ride. Horrible experience and greyhound does not care to help!!!

2022-04-25Horrible horrible. Been waiting 4 hours for a bus from Dallas to Shreveport. They’re werent telling us anything about the bus , until we asked. Then they say they don’t have a driver. After 4.5 hours I have my small baby traveling with me honestly I will never ever take greyhound again. Horrible customer service. Unreliable!

2022-05-24Disorganized terrible customer service. Bus did stop at designated area. I had to purchase another ticket to get myself to my destination. Greyhound not helpful, not responsive. Would not recommend this form of travel. Travel at your own risk.

2022-05-06This is the 2nd time we are 2 hours late at the destination. The bus driver needs to stop getting behind schedule. Its uncomfortable sitting in the bus for 7 hours when it should be 5 1/2 hours. I might have to choose megabus next time.
