I brought in 6 antique dining room chairs to be recovered. Not only did they do a fantastic job with the upholstery they also cleaned and conditioned the wood at no additional cost... plus they completed the job 2 weeks earlier than they quoted! The place is packed with incredible fabrics choices, so its truly a one-stop shop.
Dallas Home Fabric Center has been the best spot for me to purchase fabric and have furniture reupholstered! Their team has excellent craftsmanship, a large inventory of fabric and extremely friendly employees. I have had two large chairs reupholstered that look stunning and they created my floor to ceiling statement curtains for my bedroom. They are the best and I would highly recommend their work.
Introduced to this store by my Sister couple of years ago to refurbish my dining chairs. They did a fantastic job and my chairs now are as brand new. I went back for window treatment in April, 2014; the outcome was a perfect job and my windows look fabulous. They made for me beautiful cornice boards and beautiful sheers which the owner helped me select. The price was reasonable for the amount of work they undertook. A friend who came to visit loved my windows so much they asked for the contact and I gave her the owners #. The customer service was very good from the ordering process, to the lady who came to get the measurements, and the gentleman who installed. I will use them again, or recommend a friend.
I was shopping for fabric in Dallas a few weeks back, as my wife and I were preparing to have a couple of mid-century Adrian Pearsall chairs reupholstered. After looking at half a dozen other places in the area, I stopped in at Dallas Home Fabric, which had the best selection of fabrics I had seen that afternoon. Little did I know, they also happen to be the top upholsters in the area. I had already planned to take my chairs elsewhere to be reupholstered (on the recommendation of a friend); but after talking with Herschel at DHF that afternoon, it was clear that he takes the artistic aspect of upholstery work very seriously. Before making a decision, I went online (Yelp, Google, and the Dallas Home Fabric website itself) and was amazed at all of the glowing testimonials—I was sold! A week later, my wife and I were back with our chairs, picking out a fabric and discussing details for renovating these 50-year-old pieces with Herschel. He is very meticulous and insightful, and totally involved with his customers. Within ten days, the chairs were ready and had been stunningly restored—not just beautiful to look at, but so much more comfortable. We may have him redo the seat cushion with a thinner pad, but we’re waiting to break them in before we decide what to do—in any case, Herschel will happily make that adjustment if necessary. He and the entire Dallas Home Fabric staff are sincerely interested in customer satisfaction, and every one of them was a pleasure to work with. We’re already planning our next restoration projects for Herschel’s artistry!
I found a great vintage recliner that needed updating. My mother-in-law recommended Dallas Home Fabric Center. They have a huge selection of fabrics, reupholster and build custom furniture. I received a great quote to redo my recliner, which was completed quickly and the attention to detail was top-notch.Highly recommend this business.

Herschel and his team are great to work with! Not only a great selection of fabric, but hands down the best pricing for custom made drapes. Ive had several sets of drapes made over the past few years and you cant beat the quality or price. I definitely recommend!!!
As a New York based interior designer with several new clients in Texas I was in desperate need of a local Dallas upholsterer/fabric and trim shop. A friend whos a long-time interior designer in the area recommended I go see Herschel Issakhrian and his awesome team at D Fabric Center. Working with them has made my work in Dallas seamless. In the last month Ive brought ten pieces of furniture to be re-upholstered and not only does D Fabric Center have the best selection of textiles in town to work with, they also have the best prices on their work. I havent had a dissatisfied client yet, thanks in part to Herschel and his crew. I highly recommend coming to see him for your next job, big or small!

Hershal was an amazing help to me in recovering my antique settee’ from the 1800’s , two low profile chairs, and a drawing room chair for dressing. You may visit other home fabric stores first, but youll end up finding what you like -- at honest prices -- at the Dallas Home Fabric Center. I know. I went to 6 other stores in the Harry Hines Blvd area before stopping at DHFC. While the other 6 were good, this place is GREAT. Lots and lots (and lots!) of rows of home decorating fabric and trims. The selection of silk is the best in the area, along with upholstery, curtain, sheer, and outdoor fabric, faux fur, cow hides, and much, much more. And if you cant find it on the racks, there are stacks of books to look through. And they can order fabric for you (at prices that are much better than the internet fabric stores). Herschel, the owner, seems a tad gruff at first... but he knows his stuff (and is a teddy bear at heart). I was the ultimate difficult customer... I had a picture of the fabric I liked, but wanted something a bit different. Who can read minds? Turns out, Herschel can. It took several tries, but he patiently went through the books after I left and located a fabric he thought would work. I was skeptical (like I said, a difficult customer). But after taking the sample home, I knew he was right. Long story short: I got 5 beautifully-made curtain panels for my family room. And every single one was pattern-matched up and perfectly kissed the floor. I was amazed at the quality of the workmanship (especially given the price). Ive made curtains for myself (and friends) for 30 years, so I know what Im talking about. (I was going to make these curtains too... until Herschel told me what he would charge... it was an offer I couldnt refuse).Ive been to the store about 6 or 7 times now -- purchasing fabric for my livingroom sheers (Herschel suggested a fabric I never would have picked myself, but it was perfect!) and dining room silk panels -- so I have also seen the uphostery work what DHFC does (customer orders waiting to be picked up). My grandfather was a professional upholsterer in Los Angeles, so Ive been around a lot of quality work... all I can say is that when it comes time to make new furniture (Herschels workroom can make you anything... just need to show them the picture) or re-upholster old, Ill be comeing back to DHFC. Thank you, Herschel, Judy, and Sherri... you guys are truly fun to work with. And the quality... wow. Just WOW.
I had a couch handed down from my grandparents reupholstered at D Fabrics. They did a fantastic job. One of the clerks gave me suggestions on fabric choices, which they had a lot of. I am very happy with the final results and would recommend. I would also use again for future reupholstering services.
Hi. Im a tall man who loves mid-Century modern, retro furniture. We found a craigslist ad for an amazing couch: sleek, sexy lines, comfy, etc. Its a 4 seater. If you saw it, youd love it. BUT, it had this hideous green, moss colored fabric on it. How do ugly colors like that ever become popular? We took it to Hershel and his friendly staff and they helped us come up with a vision. A vision of beauty. We decided on a gorgeous, charcoal gray fabric and redesigned the legs of the couch. In just a few weeks, our ugly Craigslist couch transformed into the sexiest couch anyone has seen in the temperate world. We threw a party shortly after, and the reupholstered couch was a hit by all. Everyone is really jealous of how great it looks. It will last us a lifetime. Thank you D Fabric Center for helping us get the couch of our dreams!!!!!
By far the BEST fabric center in Texas!!! This place has everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING! I have had several pieces of furniture redone using them. Asset to DFW!!! If you want the best at the cheapest price look no further!
I had a couch redone by another upholster, and it was a mess. Brought the disaster to Dallas home fabric and OMG! The work they did was fantastic. I will use them for all my future needs. They rock!

I can’t say enough about how great Dallas Home Fabric Center is and can’t wait for them to reopen. I’m sad the tornado caused so much destruction to their building and others in the area. I’m hopeful they will rebuild soon or open in a new location.

Nicest folks in the world. I actually found these folks while looking up another store. I noticed all the great reviews for this place so this was the first place we went and turned out being the only store we went to and got our fabric. Herschel was super nice. No need to shop anywhere else.

The description on this place is incorrect they should fix it. I walked in and employee just looked at me then ignored. The description says its an upholstery SUPPLY shop, I asked if they sell upholstery SUPPLIES? They said no just fabric and their services.

This business is closed, one of several on this street that shut down after the tornado that hit Dallas in 2019. Visited 3 days ago because Google showed them in business, but the building is empty and remains damaged.
$700 quote for short sheer bay window curtains. Should have asked if it was going to laced with gold for that price! Insane

2018-12-27I wish I could give Dallas Home Fabric Center 50 stars! We needed to recover and refurbish two 80+ year old chairs that belonged to my grandmother. My 86-year-old mother remembers them in her home growing up, so they are precious to me. We looked all over Dallas for just the right fabrics and found several that would do, but none we absolutely loved. Then we found Dallas Home Fabric Center and were blown away at the beautiful and plentiful fabric choices, far more than the other well know fabric stores put together! We actually had a difficult time making decisions from several we did finally absolutely love. Herschel and Sherry could not have been more kind and helpful in making suggestions, answering questions, and guiding us to the ultimate finished product we were confident wed be happy with in our home.The craftsmanship and workmanship on both chairs is phenomenal, and we are thrilled with the outcome. The chairs are once again beautiful and proudly residing in our living room. The original design and feel of the chairs was maintained while the springs were retied, cushions replaced, and upholstery expertly done. My mother will be thrilled to see them, and I think my grandmother would love that her chairs are restored to their previous glory and being loved and used once again.Thank you, Herschel, to you and your team for giving us back our chairs in such excellent condition. We are beyond grateful for the care you took to restore our heirlooms, and we could not be happier with how they turned out.Edited to add: My mother saw the chairs on Christmas Day and was astonished by how great the old chairs looked. She was so happy to see them looking beautiful again and ready to serve for another 80 years!

2017-02-12My husband and I had our arm chair reupholstered by Dallas Home Fabric Center. DHFC did a beautiful job and we are extremely happy with the end product. We love our improved chair.Upon walking inside we were blown away by the selection of fabrics and the prices. Along with the great selection, the owners and employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.We brought our chair to be reupholstered the weekend of New Years and waited 5 weeks. I did have to call to check the stats on the 5th week. Upon calling I was told the chair hadnt even been started. I requested the chair be finished in 2 days and they did just that. So if you do get something reupholstered be sure to let them know youd like it done as soon as possible.All in all, we will use DHFC for any future fabric purchases and reupholstering needs. No need to go anywhere else in the metroplex. They have it all.

2018-10-08We were purchasing a new home and had several pieces to re-upholster. We took them to Dallas Home Fabric Center, and they did a fantastic job. The work they did was showroom ready and perfect. When there was a delay in getting the house done, they worked with us on keeping our ready furniture there for a while.We 100% recommend them. They are the best at what they do, and if you want your furniture to look twice as expensive as what you pay, this is your place.

2016-05-27On Monday, May 23, I took five old Chrome Craft chairs to Dallas Home Fabric Center to be upholstered. I had priced the work at two other places, but after talking with Herschel, and seeing examples of their work, I knew that Dallas Home Fabric Center was the best company to use. Herschel explained several options for upholstering the chairs; the advantages and disadvantages of each option. All of the chairs are now completed (it only took 4 days) and they look like new. 2016-07-05I was looking for a place to have custom counter stools made for my kitchen, and a friend suggested I go to Dallas Home Fabric Center. Im so glad I did! I took in some pictures of a chair I liked, and Hershel and his staff created exactly what I wanted. And his upholsterer is truly a master craftsman! The chairs are tufted with a curved back, and his work is precise and each chair is identical in every detail. I highly recommend them for any project, and plan on using them again soon for custom dining room chairs. They are the best and great to work with!

2018-03-08These guys are the best in Dallas. Their selection of fabric is second to none. Soooooo many to choose from with a nice variety of price points. They have all of the latest trends, including traditional, modern, whimsical.... just whatever you want. The upholstering is amazing. Very professional, beautiful custom work. Every line, every dot, every stripe matches. The back and the bottom are as nice as the top. Hershel is a hands on owner, hes always there and his team is always helpful. You cant go wrong with Dallas Home Fabric Center. Great work! Ill be back!

Thousands of fabrics to choose from in stock, so it was easy to find what we needed.We reupholstered 18 dining room chairs, and all came out perfectly aligned and professionally finished.The pricing was reasonable and competitive. 2015-06-26I originally went to Dallas Home Fabric Center to purchase fabric to have two chairs reupholstered. I ended up bringing 4 chairs. Two were inherited from my husbands grandmother with sentimental value but not our style. The other two I purchased at an antique store and were very good quality with down cushions. Herschel met with me and helped me decide how to pick the best fabric. I wish I could post pictures because the turned out STUNNING! I cant imagine going anyplace else. Now if I change styles or find a bargain I like I can buy it and feel comfortable Herschel will make it my own!!!!LOVE LOVE LOVE

2015-05-16My father gave my wife and I a antique sofa about 26 years ago. We brought it to Dallas Home Fabric to have it upholstered. We met a wonderful, friendly awesome guy name Herschel, who not only did a great job on the sofa. But he and his team made us feel of most importance. Herschel did a GRAND JOB on the sofa and gave us a really great deal. I am so glad we met Herschel and the Dallas Home Fabric Center Staff, what an Awesome Team. My wife and I will continue to do business with Herschel and recommend our family and friends.

2017-03-05AMAZING GROUP OF PEOPLE!!! These people were very attentive and treated me like family. They were helpful and extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the business!! I found them after being treated very poorly by their competitor across the street who claims they are BEST - Not True!!! I needed 3 down pillows made and their competitor treated me like dirt and wanted to charge me $228.56 PER PILLOW but Dallas Home Fabric Center charged me $285.78 for all three. The folks at Dallas Home Fabric Center were so awesome and their pricing was so reasonable. They are indeed top notch!! Dallas Home Fabric Store has a customer for life and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!!!
